Chloe jumped and quickly turned away from where she was looking. "I will smite you where you stand."

"Good luck with that," Jake snorted. "So... What exactly are you looking at?"

Jake peered over Chloe's shoulder to get a better look. Chloe quickly stepped to the side to block his view, but not before he caught a glimpse of long blonde hair. He grinned.

Jake: "Maybe I should ask who you're looking at?"

Chloe: "She's no one! She just... gathers herbs and fruits sometimes."

Jake certainly did not miss the red on her cheeks.

"She's a pretty mortal," he said.

"She is..."

Neither of them noticed the glance the blonde girl sent them. She shook her head with a soft laugh and picked up her basket. The gods were never subtle; it was amusing how awful they were at remaining hidden.

im going to ramble about it now

i can't exactly remember how it came about. i think it was either because of the book catalogue on my witchcraft library drive that i shared with some friends, or it was because i found other book spreadsheets.

i had used this one for a while, which got updated every year, but it was more focused on the book blogger side of things and tracking books you read each year which wasn't exactly what i wanted. it's still very good and definitely where i got the inspiration for the graphs from

i eventually decided on the things that i wanted to note from my books and thus became the categories for my catalogue. i did have to do a lot of googling to figure out how to make the dropdown selections and calculating the graphs and how to keep some rows/columns on the screen when i scrolled down/across but i figured it out eventually

the genres + genre codes (CPB, FSC, NBI, ZL, etc) are literally just the living rooms and codes from my library because it just seemed easier to stick with those. i also decided to take the subgenres from storygraph, and also include the reading moods from there too

(storygraph is probably my favourite book tracker app, i love it, i really want to do another buddy read on there at some point. i did one with a friend for iron widow)

i am currently redoing it because there were a lot of gaps and some things were getting out of order, so im stating with all my fiction books. all my books are kinda split up by type:

I have two bookcases for fiction books

one with poetry, plays, and anthologies

One shelf with most of my nonfiction

all my nf art and cooking books are sitting on the shelves in my mother's craft room

and all my picture books are together (there are some really good picture books out there. and some...... interesting ones.... i have read so many and have some favourites and some very memorable ones that aren't necessarily favourites)

i cant quite decide exactly what to do with my zines. at the moment they're in an a5 ringbinder

and then of course ebooks on the kindle app or play books

one day i will actually complete the cartomancy sheet on that document to list all my tarot and oracle decks. one day

It's really fun imagining Menelaus being a silly sealy boy so that's why! :D

O - On the other hand, as much as Trillian enjoyed her job (for the most part, anyway) the prospect of leaving Fenchurch here, by herself, without any possessions, money, or knowledge of the local language... it didn't sit right with her.

T - That one's Messier. It's not too far from here, astronomically speaking, but those nebulae are difficult to travel in.

S - Slightly more wary of you than you are of them, and for better reason.

the half-crown royals: my science-fantasy steampunk rewrite of the story of the trojan war in defense of paris of troy

the newsies unexpected powers au: a newsies au where they live in a little village and have random powers and go about their daily lives with such powers. generally more wacky (apothecary shenanigans) but has its serious moments (lab rats)

the postapocalyptic theban senator villain arc: i was recently in a small-town college production of sophocles' antigone (trans. don taylor) that was set in a punk-rock postapocalyptic thebes! i had a lot of fun building my character and shaping her backstory for the show, and as we struck the set, i began thinking about what happens to her afterwards ... and decided that she learns absolutely nothing from creon's arrogance and downfall.

idk those are the big ones. for right now at least. i love them so much. i have another couple smaller ones that, much as i love them, just haven't been as fleshed out. (helen and dean, the war orphans, the pirates, the villain protag zak, and two different groups of superheroes. and then probably some others. yk how it goes.)

28. handwritten notes or typed notes?

It all depends on what I have available! I prefer handwritten notes, so I'll either write something in my bullet journal (which is very very cramped. I put almost everything in it) or grab the scrap paper behind the desk to write something down. I used to write snippets of projects in the margins of my notes in class during my undergrad.

Sometimes handwritten notes aren't possible, so thank you google keep and my personal discord server for being somewhere I can put notes and ideas on

Third person.

I also like writing scripts which feels sort of like a mix of first and third person. It's all dialogue and dialogue is fun to write

I had a mini art renaissance after spending a week interning for a street art festival (b:apo mural me beloved, rest in peace) and it somehow completely changed the course of my art (bringing me back to my roots as a mixed media/printmaking artist minus the printmaking... I desperately need a printing press)

I used to post stuff ages ago on here but decided to share them here (I post them to Instagram and TikTok already but I like tumblr)

I'm glad you like it!! I love doing collages and mixed media and calligraphy and using texts in my art, I still have a couple more scheduled to post- only just started getting into my mythology + plants + hands series
