I have both an eating disorder and a medically restricted diet. It SUUUUUCKS. I "dealt with" my eating disorder by refusing to allow myself to think about good/bad food or calories or weight. I just forced myself to eat, and faked it til I made it, and was able to eat without thinking about how fat I must be.
And now I medically have to check ingredient labels. Which are, unhelpfully, right next to the list of calories and fat and sugar in the thing. Also I'm back to eating weird shit like plain lunchmeat dipped in mustard because I can't have bread or cheese or oil.
The fastest way to make it so I never speak to you again is to comment on what I'm eating, how much I'm eating, or my weight.
why do people feel the need to point stuff like that out? Like even if I was chubby (aka normal average happy healthy and actually eating real food) what do you want me to do, stop eating? Kill myself? Lol what do you want
#Fuck eating disorders#tw eating disorder#tw eating issues#food#diet culture#vegan cheese is so bad#like it makes me cry because my favorite food used to be buffalo chicken mac n cheese#theres just no decent substitute

Latest episode enabled me so heres my cooking/eating habits headcanons for the sticks:
[Color Gang]
- Blue cooks the most (obvi) for the gang, the best cook all around
- Green does it the second most, hes the substitute when Blue is too busy
- Green's the type of cook to get really pissed at other people being in the kitchen when hes cooking
- Blue on the other hand doesnt mind company and help but he cant be responsible for what happens to them if they come uninvited
- Yellow is officially banned from cooking in the kitchen without supervision
- Yellow is often too distracted with working on things to the point where they forget to eat, the others often have to remind them
- Red likes baking more than cooking
- Second doesnt do it very often bc theres usually someone else doing it but hes pretty good at it
- Purple is a pretty good cook as well, though when he's low on energy he tends to whip up the weirdest fucking combinations of simple processed foods ever, though they somehow taste? Good?
- Overall the ones who eat the most are Red and Green, being gym rats they tend to burn a lot of energy pretty quickly
- Green drinks protein shakes 👍
- Red is a sweet tooth
[Hollowheads]
- Chosen and Dark when they lived together had a very "fulfilling what the other lacks" dynamic when they cooked
- Chosen has awful motor skills so hes pretty shit at cutting stuff up meanwhile Dark excelled on that
- Dark has no sense of temperature, having only fire powers so he tends to run hot and has a natural resistance to heat. So things are never hot enough for her and ends up burning their food more times than they can count
- Chosen on the other hand had more of a balance with his ice powers so he's better on that end
- They tried utilizing Chosen's laser eyes as a microwave at some point. Didnt work out.
- More than once did Chosen try using his fire breath to cook but swiftly gets reprimanded by Dark for "breathing on the food"
- Chosen's really lazy and would only eat simple foods unless someone drags him to cook something (that person being Dark)
- Those two only know simple recipes but its enough for them
- Victim has GOD AWFUL eating habits, similar to Chosen he'd just not eat anything but simple processed foods and often forgets to eat altogether. He really only eats if someone buys food for it/cooks for it
- Victim has never set foot in a kitchen ever and god knows what'd happen if it did
[AvM]
- Orchid had awful eating habits and made the weirdest food combinations and called it a meal. After getting with Cobalt she basically forced Orchid to learn how to cook properly so shes better now but every once in a while,,, old habits die hard
- Cobalt cooked for the household the most
- King was a decent cook, enough for him and Gold
- That is until Gold died, King didnt really took care of himself and ate very much, let alone cook. Probably takeout if he remembers
- Post-avm 30 hes getting better and tries cooking again every once in a while but yakno,,,depression
- Purple cooks for them when hes like that
[Mercenaries]
- None of them cook very often because theyre usually on the job so they tend to get takeout most the time
- When they get a chance to, Paleo and Warn are usually the ones to do it
- Pivot and Ballista are coffee drinkers
- They all drink protein shakes

Ur right in that Scara-Irmin has more consequences. The reason I say Olorun is better tho is because, A. unlike Scara, we're actually there for his Very Long Suicide Plot. He doesn't vanish offscreen and get replaced by an amnesiac substitute. We meet Olorun, walk with Olorun, complete his evil puzzles, his sui attempt is the climax. B. His onscreen characterisation works with his struggle vs Scara who has half his characterisation stuck in artifact lore.
(2.)Olorun nicknames his veggies, he likes bugs, he doesn’t distinguish between humans and nature. He can run to the wild but, when the Abyss strikes, he cant escape the sight of his ‘failures’. C. Olorun was raised with love, Scara thought he was raised with hate. This makes Scara a standard revenge->sui. But Olorun can’t hate his family. They love each other. He's scared of them dying. He wants approval and control and he gains both my sacrificing himself. I find this much more fresh. (3) D.I find his gap-moe funny. Ifa calls him ‘weird’ bc of his gardening but THAT"s not why he's weird. He seems normy compared to Fish and Razor. At first. Then you realise this idiot has tricked himself into thinking he’s in a pitched sibling rivalry battle with Himself From Another Universe Who Died As A Baby. AND he’s losing! Dead Baby Olorun saved the world, but this Olorun can't even go to war! His shattered soul made him good for 1 thing and bad for everything else. He's doomed. (4) To me, “Vengeance -> Vengeance!" is less fresh than “I want to die so I can finally surpass dead baby me as a person -> maybe I can surpass dead baby me in other ways. That said, my big gripe with Olorun is that his eureka moment is SUPER rushed. Theres no clear point where his martyr-complex-imposter-syndrome-low-self-esteem-survivors-guilt clusterfuck transitions to "Life Good." He's just refuting Citlali's affirmations one second and accepting them the next. Hoyo Y As a reward for wading through my Olorun nonsense, I simply must hear your thoughts on VRAINS's VISIONARY depiction of hacking.
I can't argue with personal opinion! I do agree that Ororon is the easier character to like and sympathise with, and unlike Scaramouche isn't actually frustrating to engage with. I liked his scenes with Citlali. It's just that - exactly as you say - the resolution to his character is WAY too rushed. Personally, if this arc had been spread out over multiple acts and the plan with Capitano had actually gone somewhere, I'd be a lot more on board than I am.
Really feels like Scara and Ororon each got one half of a half-decent plotline, huh? Ororon got the character groundwork, Scara got the… actual stuff happening (lazy stuff, but still stuff, LMAO)
What gets me is that the concept of Ororon - someone that can be possessed by the spirits of the dead in Natlan, where they're uhhhh around in some capacity, someone who feels like he can save Natlan all by himself… this should really work.
Thinking on it, I'd rather he was the one we raced into the Night Kingdom to save rather than Kachina (partially bc Kachina's storyline uhhh lol she's not even the hero rep for her tribe, disrespectful - if they have the guts to kill Xilonen, which I doubt, Kachina better replace her), because man, that last minute "don't sacrifice yourself" mere moments away from someone actually doing it is always a heartwarming classic, right? Despite all my "this lazy emotional beat did not make my heart stir", I'm really not a hard sell…
Ororon has all the pieces to WORK for me, but it doesn't, because Genshin half-assed it as usual… very depressing. But on his gap moe - man, that is NOT the personality I expected for him. Or Citlali! I appreciated that a lot.
On VRAINS…. hahahaha okay oh boy this is where I make an embarrassing admission. I did not watch VRAINS for the plot. I bounced around VRAINS to watch certain duels so I could learn how to Link Summon.
A CERTAIN online Yu-Gi-Oh Video Game has cruelly and brutally nerfed both of the decks I run, and clearly my attempts at valor (not running a deck that requires me to waste approximately two minutes of my opponent's time to set up my field on the first turn) have been rejected, so I figured if I couldn't beat 'em, join 'em. And learn Link seven years late. But also, I hate reading big technical paragraphs of duel strategy so I figured "whatever, that's what the anime's there for…"
I tried with Vrains! I really did! But the pacing of the first few episodes really turned me off, and the way the duels are structured isn't much better… honestly, I get why they had to simplify the duels for Sevens and Go-Rush, bc oh boy they were really struggling with the way the card game's evolved in this one (no wonder they made them do parkour in Arc-V. And also, I do not envy whoever had to write the duels around Salamangreat LMAO). I'm a fake fan and Ai's tomfoolery was my saving grace, I swear (I love Ai. It's a shame @ Ignister is such an incomplete archetype, seriously)
I need to go back and watch it properly at some point, because what I DID pick up from jumping around the later seasons seemed pretty cool in concept. So uhhhh raincheck?
#replies#ac plays genshin impact#weh weh tearlaments is getting nerfed again but KASHTIRA is fine i'm so mad

whats zeldas + link's + the champions' opinions on animals
OK! link and urbosa are huge cat fans. if link saw a cat he would pet it no matter the consequences (unless its someones pet and they state to not pet it). he is a cat man at heart. he also likes dogs but hes more afraid of them due to being Big and also going up to him fast and licking him. urbosa would like dogs more probably, both more than cats and against link. theyre just Neat. zelda isnt really afraid of cats but she just doesnt usually approach them, she likes dogs but honestly she wouldnt really want a pet i think. unless it was like. a fish or a guinea pig. she also would leave dogs alone unless they go up to her. but shes mostly neutral on them Unless its for studying. oh she’d make herself a robot animal honestly. just like as an assistant. i feel like a dog would be too obvious for that? but maybe something like an owl/bird/something she’d have as like. a sixth divine beast almost (though its not for divine/calamity purposes). also she probably wouldnt really enjoy the work that comes from taking care of a cat/dog so. yeag. link may get one but would most likely just visit strays than fully adopt one. plus he cant really look after a pet. urbosa wouldnt have many problems though. mipha and revali arent really the biggest.. fur fans? like i think cat/dog fur would feel weird on miphas scales and on revalis feathers. itd probably be more troublesome for mipha than revali though. so mipha would try to pet a cat but feel sad that she cant because it feels Bad. honestly she could be allergic to them, though i need to think about how sever it would be. revali isnt a fan of most animals, Especially dogs (way too heavy for him + need lots of attention that could be used for Training!!) . revali would probably get like. a low maintenance pet like a fish and then vent all his problems to it and would get So Upset when it dies (which augh yeah fair..). i dont know if mipha would have any pets in general (not even aquatic ones). maybe a plant as a substitute honestly. zelda gifts her frogbit or skunk cabbages (though those smell apparently) and she just takes care of that. daruk .. hm. honestly i dont know if im going to make him scared of dogs/cats/animals? like. hes not scared of birds (some of them frequent the mountain for those berry plants i mentioned in the flower post), lizards hes also not scared of (small and he is Bigger.), the butterflies he likes to look at but once again, no fear. but animals not on the mountain such as deer, boars, dogs, cats and foxes and maybe even herons? hes slightly scared of. also bears. he both respects the concept of a bear and greatly fears the powers of a bear. OH YEAH HORSES. daruk would get used to them eventually. and cows. but its kinda like being afraid of bugs except those animals are less dangerous except for bears. also fun fact with the cups and pottery theres actually stone/sculpted flowers in goron city!!! theres one in yunobos house look
other animals!! horses. link loves horses and his horse is the best to him, urbosa isnt really familiar with horses but she respects them, and she got her own horse when traveling not the desert. mipha revali and daruk dont really use horses (mipha might though more using carriages, she’d most likely utilize the rivers). revali doesnt really care about them, and mipha likes them. zelda having horse problems + link liking them probably has her try to avoid them mostly. she doesnt hate them but she does dislike whenever theyre around. otherwise though i think she’d be interested in how gentle/wild type horses work maybe. probably intersect the horse logic into something else. cows theyre all decent fans of, mipha especially because she can point at a water buffalo and go ‘hey i have those where i live :D!!!!!’, and link would just miss the cows at hateno village and pet the stable animals. boars.. i think theyd think theyre neat. theyre probably the most hunted animal when they do hunt, but usually they dont have too much of an opinion despite the ganon connotations. though link specifically would see it as an omen. not of bad luck or good luck but of Something. urbosa might too honestly. bears, range from Lets Not Interact with it to HELL YEAH BEAR :D. revali would actually like bears because he’s seen them in hebra and they pose no threat to him. link has almost never seen a bear in his life so hes both mildly afraid and BEAR :D. urbosa has heard of bear tales in the gerudo highlands and of bokoblins riding them (which they can do), but othwrwise she would probably stay away from them because she doesnt want to deal with a bear. mipha would have a sweet spot for bears but also avoid them. shes seen like. 1. and they are Big. daruk has already been mentioned. zelda would think bears are neat especially because of how few of them there are. crows!!! sign of many things (apparently the number of crows can mean something?), usually universally meaning Death. daruk isnt too off put by them especially because theres some near the lost woods, urbosa doesnt know about the connotation to death so to her its just ‘cool bird’, mipha is vaguely aware of it however shes never really experienced it. revali is Suspicious of crows due to him only seeing them circling satori mountain and Only that mountain, zelda does her best to . not avoid them but be aware of the superstitions. she wouldnt like the association with death, and she wouldnt like crows as a result. link would Also not like crows, less of the death superstition and more of how they were in the lost woods. to him its more like a sign of bad luck, if they guard something its best to just leave it be. it makes me wonder how theyd view the crows at satori mountain. also the in game description notes that theyre feathers are seen as a bad omen and they also steal crops. nothing much more except because of the crop thing i feel like link would slightly fear them. give them a crop whenever he sees them. foxes!!! just little guys :D. revali would complain that the foxes in hebra are better (blue coats instead of orange and all that jazz), but not much of an opinion overall. post calamity i think link would never really hunt foxes. the noises they make are sad and he sees them frequently to the point theyre like. not friends but friends. goats!!! if one tried to headbutt urbosa she'd try to flip it over, so sometimes thats why they have meat to cook. daruk isnt a fan he doesnt like how it charges at him. mipha is cautious and revali doesnt care. zelda likes them! link has no opinion. wolves/coyotes! urbosa views them as mostly a nuisance. everyones usually ok with killing them which is. kind of sad. actually its a bit funny how wolves are in packs in botw, considering the lone wolf saying. herons! food/pretty. mipha likes how they fly, and zelda is curious on why the pink and grey ones stick together sometimes. and also why theyre ON THE ROAD. meese/moose! Big. scary. mostly feared. RHINOCEROS :DD!!!!!!! zelda would Love these things -
link and mipha would be interested in the horn. revali would like it a lot, its a cool animal in His region. urbosa would be interested in them, especially because they were in hotter regions. daruk just sits back and lets everyone else interact with them. pigeons!! camping friends, theyre chill. i think post calamity link would like to think a pigeon or two would be rhoam watching the plateau in his old areas. he doesnt see pigeons in most areas, after all. rainbow pigeons would interest zelda and revali, and revali would collect their feathers either for luck or for decoration (a different color feather meaning something different), and zelda would just be interested in how/Why its colored like that. daruk thinks theyre neat! otherwise cool but meh to everyone else. (also looked at the wiki AND APPARENTLY THERES A FIREPROOF PIGEON…..). snow pigeons dont really mean anything to everyone else, but to revali theyre a symbol of cleverness/survival. if you see one its thought to mean that camping will be fruitful. theyre calls probably mean something, but it varies. ducks!!! link and mipha like them, for mipha theyre hunting partners, and for link they remind him of hateno, to him its like they visit him. daruk would enjoy them, urbosa wouldnt mind them. revali would like them. zelda also wouldnt mind them. island hawkers!!! revalis favorite animal he Loves to fly with those things. they visit medoh too and circle the village sometimes. mipha would like to watch them, urbosa would get annoyed at their shadows, daruk wouldnt mind them and neither would link, and zelda would like their patterning. seagulls!! for link specifically theyre also an omen, he mostly saw them on the beach/the abandoned ship him and aryll found. he doesnt know what the omen is though. otherwise not much to say besides being food stealing Bastards and mipha would absolutely punch one if she saw it. shes heard of seagull tales…. ALSO post calamity he uses them for fish indicators. not much else. SAND SEALS. urbosa loves them dearly and she makes fun of everyone else for not having them. theyre sledding Pros, and zelda finds them fascinating. mipha is also curious about them because shes heard of seals from the sea, so shes interested if theres a connection!! but also the sledding is a new and weird thing for her. to link theyre like horses but not. traveling buddies, but he still misses his horse……… though dont tell his horse this but he actually really does like the sledding thing. its fun. daruk would try to outrace a sand seal i think, and he likes em! revali would probably just leave them be in all honesty, its just not his thing. i think sand seals would be a sign of Winning if that makes sense. cuccos!! link would hit them three times for eggs and would scare everyone half to death. zelda wants to study their hatred/ability to attack. actually i think she’d do that youtuber thing of putting cuccos against lynels. also revali would have mixed feelings. like on one hand they look so stupid but also a mountain is named after them??? why?? but yeah chicken. fish would also have some significance like salmon for revali, sizzlefin trout being traded from the gorons to the zora, hearty bass being miphas pride to hunt, sneaky river snails being really cool to zelda, frozen porgy being a snack for urbosa, and mipha just. liking crabs. not eating them as zoras dont do that usually? but enjoying their presence. also zelda would catch bugs . alsoalso off topic but theres always a bird motif throughout hyrule castle. this is probably due to their symbol and loftwings and such but i think zelda would have Some kind of feelings towards a specific bird, i just dont know which one…. its more like the stone birds being. not an omen but a reminder of where she is. and a bird similar to the stone ones would freak her out i think
#wreath of the bild#HELLO. aigh#this reminds me i have to fill out my compendium#i should also worldbuild for zelda more honestly

There's no measurements bc. Oops. Anyway my friends pasta casserole resippy:
Ingredience:
1 decently sized or 2 small white onions
Roughly 1.5 - 2 lbs ground beef
Diced tomatoes and tomato puree (if you can find it, tomato sauce is a decent substitute) - amount is hard but usually I get 2 small cans of each for 4 total cans
Tomato paste (primarily for flavor, add as necessary)
Pasta, your choice of shape - I reccomend tube or elbow macaroni, shells work but they often stick together. It has to be decently sturdy, and you can use roughly 1 - 2 lbs and that should be good
Mozzarella cheese
Bechamel sauce is probably optional but my friend says it's good - it's flour and milk
Spices/Seasoning - turmeric and coriander for the sauce, and nutmeg for the bechamel but that's optional, salt + pepper to taste
Cooking the damn thing -
Cut the onion to ur preferred size, doesn't have to be great.
Into a LARGE PAN (NEEDS TO HOLD ALL THE TOMATOES AND MEAT) wih some butter. Lightly cook it until it's brown on medium heat i guess?
When the onion is translucent/brown/soft, add in the meat. Just cook that until it's all done and not red.
Add in the tomatoes now, all the diced and puree, and you can add tomato paste for flavor and to thicken it. Stir to combine.
Season to your liking (turmeric, salt, pepper, coriander) and taste test frequently (LET IT COOL I BURNT MY TONGUE) stir well. (I reccomend a lot of tumeric and salt but that's my tastes)
When it's well seasoned, put it on low heat and cover the pan to let it rest.
I'd recommend making the pasta now so it doesn't stick together after draining it. You can salt the water but there's so much salt in everything you don't Need To. Cook to your liking and esp with shells try to make sure you stir it post draining bc it will stick if u leave it
Grate up some mozzerlla cheese (as much as you want I like a lot). You can do this anytime
Bechamel (optional and a lil finicky) - toast flour so it doesn't taste weird (? I think that's why) and add milk. Add the milk slowly bc it's easy to mess up the ratio and toasting more flour is annoying. I'll ask my friend Abt recommended amounts of everything but anyway you mix those until you have a goopy, fairly think but not watery sauce. You can add cheese and nutmeg if you want.
Casserole time - this is kinda extra bc the pasta and sauce are just good on their own but this is a fun dinner
Combine the pasta with the tomato sauce - I recommend a deep pot for the pasta so theres plenty of room for the sauce. Ladel the sauce into the pot and mix well (it's heavy so make sure to get to the bottom of the pasta so it's all even)
In a large casserole dish, layer pasta, bechamel, and cheese. I usually fit two layers of each but ymmv with the dish you use or yr pasta shape(?)
Then put it in the oven for roughly 30/45 min at roughly 350 - this toasts the cheese and gives it a nice crust. You can pull it out whenever seems right.
It goes really well with a nice citrus soda to drink. Also if you wanna add more veggies I think it taste really good with spinach
After this you will most likely have leftover pasta that you couldn't fit in the casserole dish and left over casserole bc it's so much food - it reheats SUPER well, just toss in the microwave for 30 sec, stir, repeat until you get it as hot as u want (and I reccomend adding more mozzerella as u reheat)
I love making this pasta recipe and I love sharing it. Sorry I can't give better measurements we genuinely make it off of vibes primarily. I can take a rough pic of the size of the pots/pans we use if that helps. Anyway lemme know if there's any additional questions bc I'm doing this from memory so I may have missed one or two things
thank you!!!!

after a few obsssesive weeks of consuming all persona 3 content i could find, he’s my ranking of the adaptations. P3R not included because it’s not out yet
my priorities were a) how well it tells the p3 story in full b) how accessible it is to someone brand new to the story
P3 FES. Obviously the original game is gonna be the top, and I put FES at the very top because i think the anime cutscenes and 3d scenes just add that little bit extra. p3 is a game big of reading between the lines and subtleties and theres a lot of little scenes in the 3d scenes that really add to that
P3P. a step down only for the reasons listed above, so it’s really more like. 1.5. The shift to VN style is probably for hardware purposes and it’s fine but... a little bit was lost. but it does also have feMC, so. these two are really almost interchangeable.
The Movies. The p3 movies are Fine. They change some stuff but it’s either to fit the structure of a movie better, or for flow in general. The changes range from Actually good and interesting to Sure that’s fine. The main advantage is they are much shorter and more accessible, so you can absolutely watch these for a basic P3 experience if you’re not up for the game. They are a Fine substitute.
Weird Masquerade (live show). Look. I wanted to put this above the movies. I really did. Because they are objectively the second best under the games. They took some of the movie changes and made them better. They work with the necessary medium changes and make it really interesting. BUT...... they are super inaccessible. Subs only exist for the first (of five) plays and some scenes and songs. So in function you can only appreciate them if you’re already intimately familiar with P3. so i must mark them down
The manga. What the fuck. If you take just a few pages out of context the manga’s fine, it’s pretty faithful and has some decent art. But the pacing. The STRUCTURE. For some reason they decided to skip around in time, starting with Ryoji joining, then skipping back and forth between the actual start and Ryoji era. All of Aigis’ major scenes, including her introduction, are saved for a late chapter after the bridge fight. I know p3 pretty well and I was confused by the timeline. Plus it makes some baffling changes, like in the ending.... anyway worst adaptation. What the hell, actually
overall i would say if you’re new to the story, any one of the first three options are a totally fine way to experience it for the first time. dont read the manga.
#persona#persona 3#this is just my personal opinion but like#i tried to be pretty objective and clear with the reasons

Aa if you dont want this ignore but this is like some insight from a gen z kid about that post you reblogged about limited freedom and stuff about our generation? Idk if you remember ejfbje
But like for me because of covid the last year of high school pretty much was online. We didn't do any graduation or prom and never got any send off into college/university. And because lockdown was taken more seriously where I live my college ended up being online for both years (I graduated a year early).
That means college was spent online in my room doing all my classes and lessons never really getting to know anyone and never meeting my teachers or classmates. To this day I've never met anyone I went to college with.
We also didnt do any graduation. Just got the stuff in the mail and told I'm done. Theres no sense of community, no clubs or outside of class activities. Theres no hanging out, no social interactions, the closest thing to talking to anyone is someone asking if there was homework, despite group effort to interact with each other through discord.
I now have my first job in my field, and it is online. I've never been to our office building, never met any of my coworkers. I'm working at home in my room and it's been practically the same since grade 12.
Obviously not everyone is experiencing that, but for perspective everyone that graduated in my year and in some other programs too experience very similar stuff. We never had any of that teen into adulthood development. Just thrown in without any chance to experiment or make friends or develop more social skills or life skills. Since the pandemic lots has closed down, malls are empty, and good luck finding anywhere to make friends that isnt online, or anywhere to hang out that isnt lonely loitering, expensive, or a bar (where, at least for me, it is hard to get there, hard to justify the prices, and overall unpleasant because people arent too interested in becoming friends).
Theres also barely any social community events unless you are religious or dont have a 9-5, which I do. The isolation is something a few friends I had since elementary school have talked about, and it's getting painfully obvious.
But yeah, theres all these things talking about freedom of school and college and all that, but what do you do when all that time is spent in your room because it is all online and everything is closed? My job is online and I can barely afford to rent a single room and I'm making decent enough money. It's hard to relate to older generations when they talk about being this age because theres basically nothing the same other than doing homework. Plus parents because of covid get far far more time and reasons to pressure you into staying and monitoring you.
Idk, that's just like some extra stuff to say, because how that some things have been online online is now an option in some colleges. And that means some patents can pressure their kids into doing that instead of getting to leave because how else will they get the money to survive and do school? It sucks having so little freedom, and it feels like theres nothing to do about it because there is no sense of community. Everyone is isolated and where I am at least, talking to someone you dont know is considered highly rude and possibly threatening, regardless of the context (unless it's to people at their jobs about things they do).
Idk, makes me wish I was born a decade or two earlier sometimes. Anyways sorry for the rant
Yeah I knew covid fucked up so many people. Social interactions are SO important for development and so many kids and teenagers were deprived of it. And internet is NOT a good substitute. It's just bonus.
It can't teach boundaries or stuff like that, in fact it messes with people's perceptions. They treat users as things and not living people. They constantly form parasocial relationships, because there is no one else to properly connect with and they don't know how to even make normal friends.
Not to mention the world in general became more paranoid.
Where I live it wasn't this bad for the longest time. A decade ago I could have easily just. Walk into my school for nostalgia trip and there was NO resistance whatsoever. I walked around hallways, chatted with teachers I used to learn from.
Also in the context of the families, it's pretty individual since many countries treat families as big communities where it's fairly normal for kids to keep living with parents.
I don't even know how to help this generation, they desperately need some actual human interaction. They need to make mistakes and learn from it and internet is the worst place for it because it remembers everything and so many people can see it and abuse it.

my daisy / chapter 7 | kim mingyu
➝ CEO!Mingyu x Secretary!Reader
➝ strangers to lovers // single dad!Mingyu // fluff // lighthearted // non idol!au // like pls dont expect any dramas here lol // tiny bit of angst ig
➝ series warning: mentions of sex, no smut but there’s implied sexual activities, insecurity (as always jshbdjhsfshbf am sorry), curses, food, let me know if theres more ^^
➝ word count: 3.6k
➝ A/N: HI HOW ARE WE HOLDING UP I AM GOING CRAZY BC THE COMEBACK IS TOMORROW AND I WANNA LISTEN TO THE SONGS ALREADYYYYYYY. on another note! surprise? haha decided to post a little earlier bc i dont see why not when im this happy over the comeback... anyhow!!!! we're finally here for Mingyu & OC moments!!!!!!!!
when your cousin asks you to be her substitute at SVT Inc. as she takes her maternity leave, you’re pretty sure this wasn’t what you signed up for.
series masterlist
The next few days pass by quickly. Either all of the companies here want to meet Mingyu while he’s in town or if it’s just Jennie’s efficient scheduling, you never seem to ever get out of a meeting until it’s at least 6 in the evening.
Two days more then you’re going home. Even though your bed isn’t half as comfortable as the bed in Triple W Hotel, you still miss it and you want to go back to your room already. Being in Japan for work and being in Japan for holiday are two different things, it turns out. You barely even have time to sit down and relax, let alone enjoy the Tokyo scene.
[19:01] SVT Kim Mingyu: have you had dinner?
[19:01] SVT Kim Mingyu: should we go outside and eat?
[19:02] SVT Kim Mingyu: or are you sick of seeing me already
That… is different, too. Spending days following Mingyu around without Seungkwan and any other familiar faces means he’s the sole comfort for your introverted ass. Given, the time you spend with just Mingyu is usually in the car when you’re moving from one place to another, it’s still enough time for the both of you to get even closer.
Because even for lunch and dinner the guy is packed with schedules to have meals with some kind of representatives (and a few friends, you think), you haven’t had the chance to eat with Mingyu again after that sushi place. You usually just eat by yourself while you wait for him to be done. On top of that, Mingyu would have room service for breakfast while you go downstairs to the hotel restaurant area to have yours.
You wonder if that’s the reason why your heart jumps at the invitation.
Huffing a little after replying to Mingyu’s text with a ‘sure! when?’, you quickly go through your suitcase when he replies: ‘in 15 mins?’. Maybe you should thank Jisoo for insisting you to bring more clothes than you would’ve, because there’s no way you’d be going out with Mingyu in what you’d usually consider casual. As much as you try to insist it isn’t a date, you should at least look decent going out with someone who looks like Kim Mingyu (or in general, really, but Mingyu makes you extra conscious even though he never says anything about the way you dress).
Taking one last look in the mirror, you nod to yourself before you step out of your room. Why are you even nervous? You’re just having dinner together, like you usually would with Jihoon, Soonyoung, or Seokmin. Mingyu probably doesn’t want to eat by himself and he’s finally out of dinner appointments. He’s just asking to go with you as a friend. Jennie would most likely have to accompany him eat like this too, you remind yourself.
“Oh? Hi,” someone greets you as you wait for the elevator. “A bit early, are we?”
You grin at Mingyu as your eyes flick to your own watch that says it’s only been 10 minutes since his text, pretending like you’re not flustered. Gosh, you practically see this man everyday and you still blush at his good look?
“Had nothing to do.”
“What, no report to finish?” he jokes, telling you to go in first when the elevator door opens.
“With all due respect, Sir,” you playfully clear your throat, flicking your hair back as he settles next to you. “I am off the clock.”
The sound of his laughter fills the elevator, one that brings a genuine smile out of you, too. Before he can say anything more, the elevator door opens again and a whole family enters the limited space, pushing you back closer to Mingyu. His hand reaches for your arm out of reflex when you stumble, and you can’t help getting warm at the feeling of his fleeting touch on your skin.
“You okay?” he asks as if you just got trampled on. But you nod nevertheless, telling him you’re fine and you just trip on nothing. He chuckles at this, leaning down to your ear and tells you to be careful which prompts your face to heat up over his breath fanning your hair.
You glance at the small drawing on top of the elevator buttons, a sign that says the elevator can only hold the weight of 15 people at most. You’re pretty sure there aren’t that many people yet, but the elevator already feels crowded as it is. Despite that though, of course, when the elevator opens again, the next group of people insists on coming in because there seems to be enough space for another three. The family from earlier shifts to make space, which forces you to press yourself closer to Mingyu.
The guy doesn’t seem to mind though, even pulls you further by the arm so you’re standing in front of him instead. His hands move to your shoulders, holding you in place so you won’t stumble again.
This is something that you notice just recently, but Mingyu, like Gyuri (or is it the other way around?), is just naturally touchy with people he’s comfortable with—which already extends to you, it turns out. You notice how Mingyu would absentmindedly reach for your arm when he’s calling you, or, now that you think about it, how he’d often place his hand on Seungkwan’s shoulder when he’s trying to point out something to the guy. Maybe that’s where Gyuri gets her touchy nature from.
You take in a deep breath at the proximity, thanking the universe at least Mingyu wouldn’t be able to see your nervous face from this position. He’s so close, to the point where you can feel his chest hovering against your back. One stop backwards and you’ll meet his chest.
—and that’s your cue to stop thinking about it before your body somehow registers it as a command instead of a passing thought.
You look down on your feet to mask your nerves as the elevator goes down further and further, the weight of Mingyu’s hands on your shoulders feeling heavier as seconds go by. Another minute and you know you’ll be thinking about this for weeks, the ghost of his touch haunting you until God knows when. Honestly, why are there so many floors in this building and why does everyone want to get into the elevator?!
You unknowingly release a relieved sigh when the elevator hits the lobby, and you can hear Mingyu chuckle from behind you as you do so. You turn to give him a confused glance, but he simply shakes his head then pushes you to get out of the elevator.
You hate the way you’re almost disappointed the moment he pulls away and pushes his hands into the pockets of his coat.
“What do you feel like eating?” he casually asks, matching his pace with yours.
“Um, just… street food?” you honestly say. “But I know that’s not a meal for you, so I’ll just follow whatever you feel like eating.”
Mingyu hums as he contemplates his options before eventually answering. “How about some ramen? Then we can go to this festival my friend mentioned.”
You light up at the mention of festival, having always wanted to go on one but you’re not really sure about when they even hold those kinds of things. Mingyu holds back a grin at the sudden change of your posture, excitement buzzing throughout your body.
“Let’s go then,” he says, signaling you to follow him. You happily trail behind the tall guy, sniffing a little the moment you step out of the hotel glass door as the chill night breeze greets you. Maybe you shouldn’t have just worn shorts and a sweater during this weather, but you honestly don’t want to go back and get another layer just for the sake of it. You can bear it; you’ve always liked the cold anyway.
Initially, you thought you’re waiting for Mingyu’s usual driver by the lobby. But when the valet driver instead comes out and gives the key back to Mingyu, you blink hardly at what this implies. Mingyu tilts his head to the side, telling you to take the front seat as he makes his way to the driver’s seat.
You exhale before you open the door of his car, hoping you would make it out of the night sane.
“Wow, it’s packing here, huh?” you exclaim as you join the short queue in front of the door.
“Yeah, which is why I usually order take out or have someone deliver it to the hotel,” he scrunches his nose. You’re glad he’s not fussy about the queue though. Yes, it’s not a long one, but you’re well aware that some people think they’re too good for queues.
“Why didn’t you?”
“Feels like going out,” he vaguely answers.
Mingyu steps forward after the person in front of you moves in, nodding at whatever the waitress is telling him and then holds up two of his fingers. You guess he’s telling her it’s just going to be the two of you, but she says something that gets Mingyu shrugging before he nods nonchalantly, exclaiming that it’s okay (evidently one of the few Japanese phrases you’ve picked up from the whole trip).
“She says the only available place for two is on a high table so we have to sit side by side instead of facing each other,” he briefly explains. “I guess people tend to want to sit facing each other, which is why she has to make sure we’re okay sitting on a stool bar. Plus, we might have to share the table with another party.”
You let out an ‘aah’ as you nod, taking in the weirdly luxurious design for a ramen place. You wonder if Mingyu has a thing for interior designs judging by the eccentric decorations you’ve found yourself surrounded in everytime you follow Mingyu to a restaurant. He gestures to you to sit on the end of the table before taking the seat next to you, another three seats beside him still empty.
But instead of complying, you tell him to order whatever he thinks is good because you need to go to the restroom real quick. When you come back, the guy is grinning on his screen and the seats beside him are already filled by some guys.
“Look, it’s Daisy,” Mingyu grins even wider that his cheeks hurts a little, moving the camera to you only for you to find Gyuri pouting on the screen.
“Hi Lili!!” you wave happily as you take your seat on the bar stool. “Have you been good?”
“Wanna play Daisy,” she whines sadly, which makes you giggle at her adorable pout. “Daisy come home.”
There’s a content smile on your face that warms Mingyu’s heart, and he doesn’t even realize he’s been staring until the waitress comes to put down the drinks he’s ordered for the both of you, prompting him to look up. He scoots closer to you, dragging the stool with him after he leans his phone on a tissue box so he doesn’t have to keep on holding it.
His scent engulfs you once again. But this time, instead of his usual cologne, it’s the soft smell of his coconut shampoo and fabric softener that floods your senses—and it’s bad because you like this much more than his expensive cologne; there’s a sense of domesticity to it, some kind of exclusivity that only you get to witness.
“Daisy?” Gyuri calls you again, snapping you out of your thoughts. “Miss Lili?”
“Always,” you answer without hesitation. “We’ll play with Auntie Soo, Auntie Nini, and Uncle Cherry once we get back, okay?”
“Promise?” she says her most famous line.
“Promise,” you grin to the screen, painfully aware of how close Mingyu is sitting beside you. Your eyes settle on the small window where you can see yourself and Mingyu on his phone, and you look like you’re leaning against him with his arm on the back of your chair. You’re pretty sure if you move even a bit your shoulder would brush against his chest.
Is that the warmth of his breath against your neck?
“Flower,” Mingyu softly coos, leaning his face forward that it almost looks like he’s leaning his chin on your shoulder from the screen. You can feel your throat tightens and it feels like forever before you’re able to breathe like usual again. “Our food is here. I’ll call you again later, okay?”
You don’t know how Mingyu knows the food is here, but just when Gyuri is about to answer, the waiter comes with two bowls of ramen and serves it to the both of you. Gyuri refuses to hang up just yet, insisting that she still wants to talk to you. So you tell Mingyu he’s welcome to dig in first while you entertain the girl some more.
He can’t help the fond feeling that overwhelms him at the sight of you speaking animatedly to his daughter, answering every single thing that comes out of her mouth as your legs bounce on your seat. Mingyu looks down on your bare legs, and then catches the way the guys beside him say something about you that makes him glad you understand not one of their words.
So he quickly takes the coat that’s hanging on the back of his seat, gently lays it on your lap to cover your thighs from the cold (and from wandering eyes of the three bastards beside him). You look at him in question, but he simply scoots his stool even closer and whispers that it’s cold against your ear. He doesn’t know if he’s simply imagined your soft gasp, but he knows for sure that the guys beside him have quieted at what seems to be an intimate gesture.
They shut up for sure later on when Mingyu sends them an icy glare when they start bringing you up again.
“—bye!” he hears you say at last, and then moves his face closer to yours to say his goodbye to Gyuri too.
“Love you, Papa!”
“Love you, Li,” he grins softly, melting your heart at the sight of it. After Gyuri hangs up, he puts his phone back in the pocket of his jeans and tells you to eat before the ramen gets soggy. So you do just that, thanking him for the food before you stuff your face with the most expensive ramen you’ve probably ever tasted in your life.
“Good?” he asks with an amused smile, chuckling at the way you simply give him a thumb up.
Mingyu lets you be after that, choosing to focus on his meal too because you two seem to be hungrier than you initially thought you were. When you’re both finished, Mingyu refuses your offer to pay for your own meal, saying that it was him who asked you to have dinner with him in the first place. But when you frown and insist, he says you’re free to treat him at the festival instead if you want.
It’s a little funny, if you think about it. To Mingyu, paying for your meal probably doesn’t even cost anything, but you can’t help but feel like it’s inappropriate to let Mingyu pay for everything when you’re out as friends and not as his secretary. It’s the least you could do to ease your conscience.
“We’re walking from here,” he says as he parks the car in a public parking lot. “We might need to walk for five minutes or so, but my friend said this is the nearest parking lot to the festival.”
“Heh, I’ll just consider it exercise,” you shrug nonchalantly.
“It’s not exercise if it’s only for 5 minutes, Daisy,” he playfully says with a nudge on your arm.
You scrunch your nose, hoping it masks the giddy smile on your face at your favorite nickname. “I consider everything that requires me to move my body as exercise.”
“You do know you need to move to eat?”
“Yes.”
“That exercise too?”
“Yes.”
Mingyu looks at you in disbelief, an amused scoff already out of his lips before he can hold it back. Have you always been this cute?
“Alright, you win. Shall we go exercise now?” he asks with a mock politeness. You laugh at this, then pretentiously nod your head with a ‘yes, we shall’ before you follow him and step out of the car. Mingyu stares at you from head to toe, ignoring the pointed look you’re giving him that’s basically asking him why he is not moving. “You… what makes you think it’s a good idea to be wearing shorts in this weather?”
“I… don’t like wearing long pants,” you truthfully answer.
Your boss blinks at the revelation, his mouth turning into an ‘o’. Mingyu still doesn’t move though, so you ask him what he’s waiting for. He holds up a hand, telling you to wait as he walks to the back of his car and rummages through the trunk. He comes back with a hoodie in hand, telling you to wrap it around your waist to help shield your legs from the cold even a little.
You stare at the hoodie, your heart beating way too fast for your liking at the situation, but your mouth sometimes has a tendency to speak first before you can even realize what you’re saying. “With your size? Wearing it will probably cover more of my legs than tying it on my waist.”
“Wear it then,” he tells you pointedly. You stare at him, dumbfounded, and Mingyu simply stares back at you in confusion. “What? It’s clean, I promise. I put it in the trunk the other day just in case.”
When you still keep your silence and stare at him, Mingyu sighs and takes a step forward. You immediately take a step back at that, which makes him scoff in amusement. So he takes another step forward, prompting you to step backward again.
“You really wanna do this?” he asks with a playful glint in his eyes. “You know my legs are far longer than yours?”
“Showoff,” you mumble in annoyance, more to yourself than to him. What happens next doesn’t quite register to you immediately, because how can your brain work properly when Mingyu is suddenly hovering over you, tying the hoodie himself around your waist then grins in victory at your dumbfounded face?
“Let’s go?” he says with a cheeky smile that you can’t help but mirror.
“This time, I’m paying,” you remind him sternly, pretending like his move didn’t startle you in the most pleasant way possible.
“Yeah, yeah, whatever,” he answers with a nonchalant wave, leading you to where the festival is. You jog a little to catch up with him, pretending to be annoyed about how inconsiderate he is with his long steps. Mingyu simply lets out a hearty laugh at this, and then reaches out his hand for you to take so you ‘can follow my steps without getting left behind’. You almost blush at the gesture, but quickly regain composure as you snicker and slap his hand away instead.
“Is that how you get girls to hold hands with you?” you narrow your eyes playfully.
“I don’t usually try to hold hands with girls,” he sticks out his tongue.
This is a good look on him too, you decide. As much as the sight of him and Gyuri always manages to melt your heart, Mingyu looks his age like this; with playfulness painting his face and the youth within him seeing the sun (moon?) after so long. No matter how obvious that Gyuri is his whole world now, you’re sure there are times when Mingyu misses the time when he can be carefree without thinking about his baby back home.
Thoughts like this would make you wonder about the missing figure in the little family. You never want to pry it out of Mingyu (or anyone, for that matter), but it is true that you’d be curious from time to time. Gyuri is the loveliest kid you’ve ever encountered in your life and Mingyu easily fills in the perfect man category, what could possibly go wrong?
But you’re a new person in the scene, you remind yourself. You haven’t known Mingyu for long and there might be sides of him that you don’t know just yet. There are a lot of other possible scenarios: a child wasn’t in the original plan for them, or the mom might already pass, quite literally leaving Mingyu with Gyuri behind to go to heaven, and so on.
Mingyu’s warm hand suddenly finds yours, and your head snaps up in surprise at the touch. But Mingyu quickly pulls you with him, reasoning that the festival is a little too crowded and he doesn’t want to lose you in the sea of people.
Jennie’s words suddenly echo in your mind as your eyes refuse to stop looking at your joined hands: ‘You don’t have to deny your feelings, alright?’.
And this time, with Mingyu’s hand enveloping yours, you don’t see any reason to pull away when your heart hums in content at the touch and the warmth that waves through your body is pleasant for once.
So you squeeze his hand tighter instead, nervously biting your bottom lip just in case Mingyu pulls away in surprise. He catches your eyes then, and you can see him holding back a grin before he looks forward again and continues to pull you with him through the crowd.
You wish you weren’t imagining the way his hand tightens against yours.

BIRTHDAY HEADCANNONS 1 OF 4
Characters: hank,MAG!hank,sanford,deimos,dedmos, and 2BDamned
Notes:my birthday is coming soon (sep. 8th) So i figured i should make a birthday headcannon thing with all characters. I wont fit them all in one go so ill go for 4 (technically 6 if you wanna count the bonuses) characters as of now.
All are romantic headcannons though sorry if you wanted platonic
Heres madness combat characters celebrating your birthday!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hank
You probably need to tell him your birthday. I feel he either wouldn't know how to ask or just don't think birthdays are a big deal (its mainly the 1st option though)
When it does come around he would try and get you some kind of gift
Hes not much of a baker and Nevada is a wasteland so theres no bakery to just get a cake from
So a gift is the next best thing he can do
It would be something he randomly found on a raid like a fancy enough looking knife or a golden gun
If he was able to he can find things thats not weapons like music boxes and decent clothes
He usually just gives it to you in a bag with a quiet "happy birthday"
He's trying his best
Bonus:
Mag!hank
When your birthday comes after he becomes a mag he would probably just sit beside you silently and suddenly rests his head on top of yours
Gently cuz his metal jaw
OH MEH GAWD HE CAN PURR!!!! You kinda already knew that but its such a rare occurrence!
Kinda hard for him to say happy birthday to you so that form of affection is all he got right now
The 1st and last time he gave you a gift was a bloody shirt he got from a grunt he just killed.
He still tries
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sanford
You should probably let him know on when your birthday is too. Mainly because he forgot birthdays exist from all the constant killing sprees
Definitely bakes a cake for you, decently enough even if there may or may not be some ingredients missing. Not his fault though some things can be hard to find in nevada due to bandits
Will sing happy birthday to you when he gives you the cake, but if it makes you uncomfortable he just says happy birthday and say he loves you
Lots of birthday snuggles
Gave you a fancy looking hook (that's totally not at all similar to his own so you both can match) as a gift
Kinda worried he didn't make your birthday special enough at 1st
Just assure him with some kisses and he'll be fine 😊
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Deimos
He outright asks you out of the blue one day
When you told him the date he just nods and wanders away
You figured thats the end but in reality he is planning so much, he wanted to make you feel super special on your birthday
So when the day comes he starts off with some teasing "you feel old yet babe?"
Course he does stop it after a bit
He did ATTEMPT to make a cake but like hank hes not a baker. So it either was flavorless or burnt to charcoal
That does not stop him though as he makes up for it with his gift, he made you a little robot pet (dog,cat, or other, its up to you 😊)
Makes little jokes to make you laugh even tried to make hank fall for the updog joke to make you laugh
He failed
He also stopped smoking for the day because he knows you dislike the smell of cigarette smoke
Ends the day with him wishing you a happy birthday and kisses
Bonus:
Dedmos
Almost the same but makes heart shapped rocks for you
Also cant tease or tell jokes because his entire mouth is rock now so he does the next best thing to make you laugh
✨charades✨
Also cant kiss you so he just gently presses his forehead against yours as a substitute
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
2BDamned
The topic of birthdays just randomly popped up during a casual conversation
He does ask if you like or don't like birthdays. He doesn't want to make a huge deal out of it if you dont like them
If you dont like birthdays he just acts like it's any other day, with a few kisses and compliments here and there
If you do like birthdays he will try his best to make it a great day for you
Once again not much of a baker but he will make coffee and breakfast for you in the morning
Compliments on how beautiful you look and more
Did not have the best of luck at finding you a gift.
He found pencils though and paper and tried to make something for you with that
DIS MAN IS A FUCKING POET! (You cant change my mind)
Ends the day with snuggles and "i love you"s

some of the best fantasy au fics for bnha that i've read
i decided to make a fic rec list of one of my favourite aus/fusions. mostly midoriya-centric, there are some crossovers (with hp), and a lot of different ways in which the authors have taken them - so it could be Quirks, ghosts, outright fantasy aus, spirits, witches etc etc. there isn't a specific order and there aren't a tonne (these are the ones i could find buried in my bookmarks lol), but the ones on the list are all really well written i love them.
i've tried adding relevant information, the summary (shortened if it's pretty long) and just. adding some random tags that may be important. not all of them though. obviously this is not a complete list and there will most definitely be more fics out there, if there are some really good fics that you know that aren't on this list, feel free to tell me, i'd love to read them!!!
i hope someone enjoys these!
Faith Becomes You by SugaSuga

Haii hsi hai :-). I see you post a lot abt ADMIN and Mango, but I'm curious on what their story is? I don't think I ever was here to see their story or anything and I'm curious :-0. LIKE, uhmm, what exactly is Mango or ADMIN? Their relationships? How they met? Unless that stuff is a secret or something.
FINALLY. THE BIG QUESTION.
Okokok
So I haven't actually gone in depth about the story I'm so fuckin glad you asked me this. This is gonna be wordy
So the story is abt two women [Admin and Mango] and just generally their lives, both before and after meeting.
Mango is a worldwide phenomenon. Her creator/parent, Derrick Lewis, was 16 when he received government funding for his experiment on creating a sort of human life using just a fruit, which was a mango for him. He had 9 trials with varying amounts of a certain chemical mix. He got his hand bitten off by one of the mangoes with the most of this mix, and his blood accidentally got into Incubator 5, and that is the incubator that formed Mango due to the added component of human blood.
Derrick was 17 when Mango was fully formed and basically a discolored person with no external nose or ears. She also lacks pupils, but can see exceptionally well.
She was raised like any normal person would be raised because Derrick saw her as that. A normal little girl.
Admin is a different thing. Her father, Robert Charleston, had reluctantly allowed his daughter Aliyah to move away because she didnt want to continue his works, as they were immoral.
Robert is narcissistic, and he cloned Aliyah. Without Aliyah's permission, at that. Robert's wife discovered what he was doing and tried to sabotage it by stealing a vital organ stabilizer.
That caused the clones skin to turn grey, and for several things like her heart, lungs, and brain to start shrinking. Robert couldn't fix the skin, and later hair greying, but he could at least find electronic substitutes for those organs. This did involve switching out the clones eyes so that they could properly connect to the digital brain and process images.
Thus, Admin was created. She looked weird, as she also had no nose or ears externally, but she also lacked pigments other than shades of grey and blue.
Robert wanted an obedient daughter and didnt send Admin to public school, nor did he let her have typical childish fun, like running around playing tag.
He essentially wanted a drone and didnt get that out of Aliyah.
Skip around to when Mango is 9, and Admin is 8. Derrick attempts to gather information about Admin so he can tell Aliyah because Robert kept it secret for this long. He disguises it as playdates between Admin and Mango.
Mango liked being around Admin, but Admin needed time to process Mango's childish mannerisms because she didnt know that kids were supposed to act that way.
Mango taught admin how to be a kid, and that started issues for Robert. He eventually resorted to punishing Admin anytime she expressed any hint that she was a kid trying to be a kid.
Skip to when Admins 18, Mango's 19 [10 year skip]
Derrick finally contacts Aliyah. She's pissed, because her dad fuckin cloned her. She's 37, and she finds out theres a person just like her in genetic composition, that's half her age.
Aliyah travels to see Admin and turns out. Admin didnt know she was a clone until the day Aliyah showed up. Mango grew really close to Admin and was the one to break the news because she knew for a while.
Now, I should preface this, at 15 and 16 [Admin, Mango, respectfully] the girls decided to date in secret kind of. Derrick and his friend Mason were the only ones who actually knew.
With this situation, Mango suggested they run away. Admin was quick to agree and mango decided to let Derrick and Aliyah know because they're the people who could keep it a secret til they're gone.
Derrick agrees and Aliyah suggests a good city bus that'll take the girls far away.
Derrick gives them money
And they girls leave while Derrick and Aliyah distract Robert by. yelling at him about how what he did was shitty.
The girls make it to a city, and they just. Start making a living for themselves, they find jobs, and then they pay for a decently sized place to live. Eventually they agree to have a kid and theres the whole bone marrow baby situation because Admin has bones and Mango had a reproductive system [she doesnt have it anymore. Their daughter quite literally was the reason the whole thing had to be taken out bc otherwise, Mango would rot since shes still very much a fruit.]
As of current timing, Mango and Admin, as well as their daughter Moder-Ator, are virtually immortal until killed.
Derrick and his friend Mason have developed a romantic relationship.
Robert is alone. He spends his days blaming everyone else for his shortcomings in life. He refuses to take the fall for anything.
Aliyah visits the girls to check in since, it turns out, Admin didnt have the luxury of having a companion other than mango, so Aliyah just kind of. Claimed admin as a sister. She is Mod's godmother, should ANYTHING happen to Admin and mango.
Moder-Ator has a partner, its name is Leonard. It lives in a taco bell dumpster. It's an agender lesbian who met Mod and offered her a chalupa supreme.
TL;DR: guy makes a mango person. another guy clones his daughter bc hes selfish. the girls meet. they form a relationship. they run away after it comes out one is a clone. the girls form a life together and live happily ever after eternally.
#omg sus#tommies talkin#lloyd ocs#project mango and a.d.m.i.n. tag#long post#FINALLY. I GET TO DO THIS WRITTEN SUMMARY.#oughhh :)))

(uhh fukin hs au headcanons-
Cup, Senti, and Reba are sophomores and Bella is a junior
Cup is borderline failing all his classes except for his A in band
Senti is also failing everything including band
Bella actually has decent grades despite being absolutely stupid
Reba has average grades despite being “““smart”””
mainly cuz she thinks school is pointless
B has mostly Bs and Nova has low Cs only cuz B lets her copy her answers on the homework
Cup has less than 10 friends and is a loser. Senti would too but he kinda just started showing up to parties uninvited and somehow didnt get the shit kicked out of him
anytime someone tries to start a fight with Senti or Cup, Reba intervenes. the school nurse hates their life because of her getting herself and other people sent to the nurse’s office every few weeks
B and Cup would absolutely be the type to fill in joke answers when they dont know the actual answer on a test. B is somehow the only one who gets points for it tho
also Cup, Senti, and B are band kids. B and Senti play saxophone and Cup plays percussion
B and Nova are in choir becuz yes
Bella has definitely fucked at least 3 people in all her classes
also Bella has been in detention too much, but always manages to just barely be eligible to go to school dances somehow (and shes totally the desperate bitch who goes around asking fucking anybody to go with her)
oh and Cup and Senti are the fuckers who swap names whenever theres a substitute teacher
maybe ill come up with more for specific characters later-

when your cousin asks you to be her substitute at SVT Inc. as she takes her maternity leave, you're pretty sure this wasn't what you signed up for.
series masterlist
In your defense, Mingyu is a very common name.
You probably know at least 5 Mingyu throughout school and university, not counting another from your old work places.
Jennie looks at you pointedly, and you immediately bow to him as you introduce yourself.
It’s okay—it’s okay, you tell yourself. You were drunk, he was drunk, there’s a pretty good chance Mingyu doesn’t even remember you. You’re just going to play stupid unless he addresses it himself. Yeah—yeah, that’s a good plan.
When you stand back straight, you can’t tell if the emotion that passes his eyes is recognition or he’s simply sizing you up.
“As we agreed before, I will train her for a month and then take my maternity leave once that’s done,” Jennie says again, bringing you back into the current situation at hand. “I promise she’ll be able to handle my workloads and I’ll try to be on standby most of the time just in case she needs help.”
Mingyu nods absentmindedly, his eyes finally leaving you and you let out a soft breath of relief at that. “You talk too much sometimes,” he shakes his head at Jennie, holding back a teasing smile in front of a stranger.
“Excuse me?”
“Just get ready for the meeting,” he softly orders before he settles on his seat. It is only then that you realize there’s a big name plate on his desk: CEO Kim Mingyu, it reads. You gulp at the name, suddenly the sound of your voice screaming his name rings through your ears once again.
When you look up from the name plate, you’re surprised to find Mingyu’s already looking at you, one of his eyebrows slightly raised and you honestly have no idea what to make of that.
It is Jennie’s voice that brings you back to reality, calling you to follow her out of the room. You don’t miss the way Mingyu’s gaze never leaves you even when you bow one more time before you leave.
You’re so, so screwed.
“What was that?” Jennie asks the moment you sit down next to her.
You decide to play dumb, there’s definitely no need to tell Jennie about what happened with Mingyu. Fuck. You’re supposedly going to spend months with this guy and you’re no longer sure if you can do it now.
To be honest, you’ve never really been one for one night stands, and you’ve got to admit you’re lucky the one time you ended up having one, it’s with someone like Mingyu who seems to be a decent person. The few times that you’ve been intimate with other people are always during your relationships, and you’ve made sure you’re serious enough because that’s just how you are.
You don’t care that Soonyoung jumps from bed to bed at least twice a week; that’s not your problem as long as it’s all consensual, he regularly gets checked and stays healthy. You just don’t prefer doing it yourself. There’s just something embarrassing to you about sharing a bed with someone you barely know.
You swear to everything that is in the universe you’d never drink outside your place ever again.
“Just… didn’t expect the CEO to be so young,” you blurt out even though it’s stupid because Jennie has totally told you the CEO is around your age.
“Have I not told you that?” she says in suspicion, narrowing her eyes at you. “I’m pretty sure I have.”
Right at that moment, your phone suddenly rings, saving you from Jennie’s further prodding. She looks at Sooyaaa on your phone, recognizing your close friend and telling you to take it if you want.
So, for the sake of your sanity, you do.
“Yes?” you answer snappily.
“What’s with the tone?” Jisoo asks gleefully from the other side. “Some bird told me you’ve got something to tell.”
“Kwon Soonyoung that bastard,” you mutter under your breath, earning a laugh from Jisoo and from Jennie next to you.
“If it makes you feel any better, he didn’t say anything beyond that. Just said that I might want to ask you if something happened at the club the other night.”
To your annoyance, Jisoo has sounded more happy than she is worried. But just when you’re about to snap at her for reminding you about that night, Jisoo cuts you off and asks if all is good. She’s been apologizing since that day, telling you she’s found Seungcheol in her drunken stupor and had him take her home because she thought you’re taken care of.
You sigh, telling her a hesitant yes and a promise to meet her later for dinner so you can tell her everything. She ends the call with a loud kissing noise, screaming to the receiver a very loud “Hi Jennie!!” that you don’t need to put the phone on speaker for your cousin to hear her.
“She’s such a good friend, isn’t she?” she asks once you put your phone back in your bag after activating the silent mode.
Your mind goes to the endless texts and miscalls from Jisoo that day, you’ve just been childishly ignoring her to get back at your friend because you know she worries like there’s no tomorrow. But you know—you know that there can be no friend that takes care of you as good as Jisoo could ever do.
“Yeah, she is.”
You don’t really interact with Mingyu even days after the first one, thankfully. You just dutifully follow Jennie around, who’s following him around. Today’s meetings are all in the company, and you’re mostly there to memorize the face and the name of the head of each department as they sit there in Mingyu’s presence.
For a moment there, you’re probably as close as you are to being starstruck. Mingyu carries himself very well, no one seems to be doubting him despite his young age compared to some of the directors who are probably a decade (or two) older than he is. His words are clean and sharp, never going around as he delivers what he’s saying as efficiently as he can.
So far, your impression of Mingyu is that he's a gentleman that only speaks when he needs to. He’s, by no means, cold, but he’s practical and he doesn’t see the need to speak more than necessary. You wonder if that’s how he is or if that’s just his work persona.
Someone clears his throat in front of you, and you immediately straighten your posture at Mingyu who’s basically looking down on you from his towering height.
“See me in my office after this,” he says and then leaves the meeting room before you manage to answer.
Your heart races at his words, but you will yourself to calm down because you figure Mingyu’s not going to bring it up out of nowhere like this. But why did he call you instead of Jennie if he has matters to discuss? Is he testing you?
Nonetheless, you tell Jennie the CEO wishes to speak to you before you leave to his office. Jennie only nods as she busies herself with the screen in front of her, but Seungkwan catches your eyes and puts up his fist in encouragement.
You have no idea what to expect.
“Sir,” you greet him after he says to come in. You’re not sure whether you should sit down or stay standing, but Mingyu points to the chair in front of his desk with his chin.
Mingyu doesn’t say anything for a moment, his eyes are still examining you and you try your best to hold his gaze despite your heartbeat drumming loudly against your chest.
“I have an important meeting in Tokyo next month.” He breaks the silence. “And you’d probably have to come with me.”
You don’t say anything but a ‘Yes, Sir,’ because, truthfully, you don’t think you have any choice here and you’re just glad he’s not bringing up that incident.
“Frankly, I’d rather bring Seungkwan because he’s more used to the business meeting abroad,” he states bluntly though there’s no hint of rudeness in his voice. “But he’s given me a notice since last month that he’s going to take a whole week off then by using up his accumulated day-offs.”
“Okay, Sir,” you repeat.
“Tell Jennie to take care of the arrangements,” he finishes, eyes already back to his screen as his fingers busily type on his keyboard. “You may leave.”
He just has to be so attractive.
“Kim Mingyu?” Jisoo asks one more time, wondering why the name sounds so familiar to her. But, then again, it is a pretty common name. “Wait, did you say you’re working in SVT Inc.? I never knew Jennie worked in SVT Inc.?”
“Yep,” you say as you munch on your dinner. Jisoo has invited herself to sleep over for ‘making it up’, using the access you’ve given her, and the girl has her conscience guilty enough to already have food prepared on the table the moment you step into your door.
Your friend stays silent for a moment, and you let her be because—Gosh, you’re so mentally tired after being wary of Mingyu the whole time. Even though deep down you feel like he doesn’t seem to be the type to confront you over something like that in the office, it doesn’t stop your heart from jumping every time his gaze goes past you or when he calls your name (even though it literally happens like... five times in total so far).
In short, you’ve spent the day uselessly worrying Mingyu will confront you about it and it isn’t exactly healthy for your head nor your heart.
“Oh!” Jisoo suddenly shouts, making you jump a little in your seat. She takes her phone, fingers busy tapping here and there before she pushes her screen to your face. “This Mingyu?””
The picture of Seungcheol and your new boss together greets you. They both seem close enough, with Seungcheol’s arm around his shoulder and lighthearted smiles gracing their faces. There’s a pretty little girl in Seungcheol’s lap, one that you don’t bother to ask because Seungcheol loves children.
“Yeah, they’re close,” Jisoo answers your silent question after putting her phone back down. “I do meet him from time to time because of Seungcheol even though I’m not close with him or anything. He’s pretty friendly, but definitely a private person.”
Great. You think to yourself, all the more reason not to tell Jisoo about the event from that night. While she’s your best friend and you love her with all your heart, there are times when she’d accidentally blurt out your ‘secrets’ when drunk.
Now you actually trust Seungcheol enough not to further spread your secrets, and you’re actually fairly close with him that you don’t mind him knowing the few stuffs you only mean to share with Jisoo. If there’s anyone that you could trust, it’s him. But this one? A one night stand with one of his close friends?
You’re pretty sure it’d be better for them not to know.
It’s a one time thing anyway, which isn’t important enough for either of them to be aware of. You’ll just pretend like it’s some random guy and pray Mingyu doesn’t say anything about it either.
So, when Jisoo asks again about what Soonyoung has meant when he says you might have something to tell her, you reluctantly tell Jisoo half the truth—that you got too drunk and ended up in a hotel with some guy.
She deserves at least that much.
Before guilt rushes in even more in Jisoo’s system, you immediately tell her that it’s okay and at least you remember the sex was pleasant. And when she asks if you could remember him or maybe his name, you drop your gaze to your food and shake your head because Jisoo knows when you’re lying. Her gaze stays on you for a few seconds before she eventually drops the topic and talks about her plan with Seungcheol for the weekend.
You’ve never been more glad Jisoo also knows when not to push.
“How are you coping?” Jennie asks with a grin after yet another meeting.
You groan at her question. While you’re used to having multiple meetings back-to-back and typing down whatever the meeting was about, Mingyu is a whole other level of busy from what you were used to.
It’s not always a bad thing, though, because despite the way your back always cries in pain at the end of the day, you actually feel challenged and are oddly motivated to do well and prove yourself even though no one is giving you the side-eye.
You wonder if it’s the way Mingyu would hum in approval everytime he finishes reading your report. Jennie has told you how much of a perfectionist Mingyu is, to the point where he’d check your report himself. Except for the first few mistakes you’ve made due to the unfamiliarity of the format this company uses, Mingyu has never really told you to revise anything after that.
“You do remember this is my last day before I officially take that maternity leave, right?” she reminds you, and your eyes automatically go to where her baby’s at.
It’s pretty weird, to be honest. You grew up with Jennie, you saw her when she was an elementary student, then junior high school, and so on. The image of Jennie in her old uniform pops up in your mind, one where she took your hand in hers when she went to your school to pick you up. And now she’s here, much more mature and pregnant with a baby.
“Yeah, Jaebum must be happy about that,” you snicker teasingly.
Jennie grins at the mention of her husband and you could’ve sworn there would be flowers surrounding her if this was a high school romance manga. “He’s just been worried about my workloads. It eases him a lot when he finds out you’re replacing me, though.”
“Tell him I’m expecting a present or something for that comment,” you say before you go back to typing down the meeting report from earlier. Jennie lets you be for a while before she lets out a confused noise from beside you.
“Huh?” she mumbles to herself as she looks through her organizer. “That was… our last meeting for the day?”
The way you and Seungkwan immediately turn to her is almost comical, eyes wide and mouth open. It’s barely 4 in the evening and there’s…no more meetings? Jennie frowns, flipping through her organizer some more before she decides she needs to confirm with Mingyu. The sound of her heels against the floor as she makes her way to Mingyu’s office wakes you up from your trance.
“Betting you the next report that there’s another meeting after this that Mingyu forgot to tell Jennie,” Seungkwan says out of nowhere.
“So if there’s no meeting after this you’ll do my next report?” you raise your eyebrows at the challenge.
“And you’ll do mine otherwise.”
“Deal.”
For the past few minutes, you haven’t stopped nudging Seungkwan next to you while Jennie and Mingyu are walking ahead of you both, discussing something that you don’t quite hear.
There’s a pout in his face while you smugly grin at him, missing the way Mingyu glances back at you before turning back to Jennie again.
“Who told you to bet against me, huh?” you whisper childishly and Seungkwan just swats your hand in annoyance. It’s a little past 5PM now and currently, the four of you are on your way to get dinner.
When Jennie comes in earlier to confirm his schedule, Mingyu has just told her that he purposefully emptied the schedule after the last meeting because it’s her last day and he’d like to peacefully have dinner with her as a friend. Due to her raging hormones, she almost cries right there and then while you and Seungkwan have gotten the privilege to see Mingyu panic from the clear glass of his office.
After that, she tells him she wants to bring you and Seungkwan because you’re all basically working as a team, anyway. You can tell that Mingyu’s a bit reluctant, which is understandable because he barely even knows you and it’d mean he won’t be as comfortable compared to when it’s only him, Jennie, and Seungkwan.
Not to mention the incident from barely a month ago.
You cringe at the thought. Even though at this point you’re sure Mingyu either: 1. Has forgotten. 2. Does not recognize you. or 3. Simply does not wish to bring it up, you just can’t not be nervous around him.
“Did you say you worked at Pleds before?” Seungkwan asks over dinner. The four of you are in a steakhouse, Jennie’s choice because Mingyu says it’s the least he could do for her. Seungkwan’s sitting next to you while Mingyu and Jennie sit across the both of you.
You nod as you play with your straw, waiting for the food to be served. “It wasn’t… bad. But the workloads and the pay weren’t exactly balanced. Plus, the emotional labor was getting too much so I resigned after working there for almost two years.”
“You must’ve celebrated after,” he grins, knowing how it usually goes when one left a company by choice. You nod absentmindedly, too hungry to realize where the conversation might lead you to. Across you, Mingyu is silently listening to the conversation without any plan to join in and takes a sip of his wine.
“Was it that time you went to Exodus with Jisoo?” Jennie tilts her head, recalling the Instagram update Jisoo posted on her story with the club location pinned in one of the updates.
At her question, you choke on your drink while Mingyu is dignified enough to simply clears his throat as if his drink didn’t just go the wrong pipe. You wouldn’t have thought it was him reacting to the name if not for the way you accidentally meet his eyes for a split second before you quickly look elsewhere.
It was enough. A split second was enough for you to know that Mingyu knows. There was a spark of recognition in his eyes that he couldn’t hide quickly enough, as if something was made clear to him and you fear the illusion of Mingyu’s ignorance regarding that incident would break after this.
After what you hope is enough time to avoid Jennie’s—or anyone, in that matter—suspicions, you excuse yourself to the restroom with an awkward smile. You close the toilet door behind you and immediately slot the lock before you lean back and exhale a deep breath. You close your eyes in contempt, your fingers digging into your palms.
This shouldn’t change anything… right? You haven’t been working in SVT Inc. for long, but you’ve spent most of your time following Mingyu, Jennie, and Seungkwan, so it’s safe to say you’re actually more familiar with him than a lot of people on your floor.
That said, you feel like you know enough that Mingyu wouldn’t come to you and talk about this just for the sake of it. Kim Mingyu is a practical man, he does not do what’s not needed, and you’re 100% sure this is not necessary no matter how you see it.
After you’ve calmed down enough, you take another deep breath before you open the door. You check yourself in the mirror one more time, patting down your hair and making sure you look decent before you step out of the restroom.
Your breath almost stops when your eyes find Mingyu who also has just stepped out of the other restroom. Your eyes meet his and, for a second, you thought he’s going to say something by the way he’s holding your gaze. But Mingyu breaks the eye contact first, looks away and then makes his way back to the table without addressing you.
You’re not sure if you should be glad or disappointed by that.
When you return to your seat beside Seungkwan, the talk has turned into Jennie’s baby and the maternity glow she has beautifully embraced ever since her baby bump has started showing.
“I’m not going to lie. It’s a beautiful process, yeah, and I get why people kinda glorify it, but it’s still not something that everyone can just… go through,” Jennie says as she puts down her fork and knife. “I’m pretty lucky that my pregnancy hasn’t been that hard except for a few times, but you really can’t shame anyone for not wanting to get pregnant.”
Seungkwan nods in agreement, telling the story of how his sister has opted to adopt a child after settling down with her husband because she doesn’t think she can go through the pregnancy process herself.
“They love her so much and they’re considering adopting another child because they want her to have a sibling.” There’s a fond smile on his face, one that you can’t help but mirror as you remember the picture of Seungkwan and Minhee that decorates his desk in the office. “Plus, Minhee has actually been asking if she’s going to ever have a brother or sister like her other friends do.”
“Can I see her already, please?” you join in the flow of conversation. “I’ve known you for, like, a month and I’ve heard more about Minhee than I do my friend’s niece when I literally waited outside the labor room for this kid to be born.”
The table laughs at this, very aware of Seungkwan’s friendliness and tendency to talk about his dear niece to everyone he considers a friend.
“Do you like kids?” Seungkwan asks.
“Well, I wouldn’t say I do, to be honest,” you scrunch your nose and lean into your palm, suddenly conscious of the way everyone, especially Mingyu, is looking at you. You’re not sure why you’re even nervous, isn’t it normal that people pay attention to the person talking? “I find them cute. But I’ve never been one to…coddle them, you know? I don’t know how to act around them, but I enjoy looking at children play, I guess. Minhee sounds very lovely though, and I’ve never seen anyone who loves and talks about their niece as much as you do, so…”
“You know you have to coddle this one, right?” Jennie declares, making a point to place her hand on her rounding stomach as if there could be any other baby she’d be talking about.
“Maybe if you’re finally going to tell me if I’m going to have a niece or a nephew.”
For the first time that evening, Mingyu answers you even though he’s looking at your cousin, nonchalantly saying. “Oh? You’ve told me, though?”
Jennie doesn’t even have the time to glare at Mingyu, already busy trying to calm you down and convincing you that Mingyu totally finds out by accident and she most definitely did not tell him. You see him playfully grin at her and you don’t even realize you’ve been staring until Mingyu turns away from Jennie and catches your eyes. You quickly avert your gaze, pretending to pout at Jennie who’s already looking at you with guilt.
“Okay, tell me if you’d like to have a niece or a nephew?” Jennie tries to ease you up, though the both of you know you’re not really mad at her.
“I don’t mind either, but if I have to choose then… a niece,” you nod to yourself. “Little girls are cuter to me; I feel like they’re… less trouble.”
Mingyu accidentally snorts at this, but no one at the table finds this weird except for you. Seungkwan simply laughs while Jennie shakes her head, and you have enough sense to figure out this is probably some kind of an inside joke between the three of them.
You let them enjoy their little bubble without asking anything.
The night goes on peacefully after that; Seungkwan mainly keeps the table lively and all of you would laugh from time to time. Mingyu still doesn’t really address you, which you only lowkey mind, but you wonder if it’s just his way of warding off the wrong people from befriending him.
You’re pretty aware life as a young CEO must be hard despite his money. He’s rarely not working even when he’s off work, and you’re sure there must be people who have tried to leech off him due to his wealth and social standing.
Your mind suddenly takes you back to that night at the hotel and you frown at the realization, does he not have a partner? Frankly, you find it borderline believable and unbelievable that someone like Mingyu doesn’t have one. He’s probably either: 1. Too busy working that he’s not interested in it. or 2. Has a betrothed or something.
Okay, the second option is rather stereotypical when you don’t even have any idea if people of his class still do arranged marriages. But anyhow, you hope it’s not option 3 which consists of him being a bastard by sleeping with another person when he does have a partner.
Glancing at your phone, you realize it’s already 7 in the evening now. Mingyu seems to notice this too, quickly calling for the bill and says something about needing to go home quickly. For reasons that once again you’re not aware of, Seungkwan and Jennie simply nod in understanding, a teasing grin on their faces.
“Gyuri’s waiting, huh?” Seungkwan jokes, and you quickly register the unfamiliar name as your mind goes through a million scenarios of who this ‘Gyuri’ could be.
Mingyu nods with a suppressed grin, probably the most expression you’ve ever seen of him. Something inside you twists at it, though; did he have a partner, after all? One that waits for him at home?
You don’t dare to voice the curiosity out loud, not even to Seungkwan or Jennie, and you figure if this Gyuri person is important enough, you’ll find out sooner or later because the CEO would probably need you to fix his schedule to be with her.
You wonder why the bitter taste on your tongue refuses to leave even hours later when you’ve gone back to your apartment.

pros and cons of letting characters swear in thing im writing
pros:
easier to get certain deliveries and tones across
remember that adventure time storyboard where the board artist was like “hate having to edit out ‘what the fuck’. nothing works as well as ‘what the fuck’.” well i feel that
those are both the same reason basically. another restatement of the same reason is that sometimes specific jokes are funnier with the cursing in them
an actual different reason: i’d have to rewrite some scenes im currently happy with specifically to edit out the swearing because i just kind of put it in there
cons
maybe the challenge of having to not rely on swear words would ultimately push me to come up with more clever jokes and dialogue
this is neopets fanfic essentially and maybe its weird to have swearing in it. im not planning on putting the... comic? (story? however i end up delivering it) on neo itself anyway but like... i dunno. if they’d let people’s neopets be gay it might be fun to try and edit it so it could be published in the neopian times, but they don’t. i guess maybe after i wrote it, i could try to pull a thing where i make a version for the site where its as obvious as possible while being stealth enough to pass through security. but i’d have to finish writing it first
virtually all swearing, even ‘mild’ swearing, opens up worldbuilding issues. am i ready to just casually imply the concept of hell on neopia? or the concept of god? (this one is difficult because i tend to over rely on ‘oh my god’ as an exclaimation and its really hard to substitute something that has the same tone to it. ‘oh my gosh’ doesnt feel like it quite does it) also i tend to hate cutesy in universe versions of real world swearing, like pokemon fanfic using “oh my arceus” for instance. it doesnt bother me nearly as much when there’s no 1:1 counterpart- stuff like spongebob yelling ‘barnacles’ as a mild curse doesnt trip the annoyance alarm for me. so i guess i’d just have to put a LOT of thought into it if i wanted to come up with my own for neopets that wouldnt bother me
my characters arent far away enough from the cartoony site style for it to not seem potentially weird?? im not deliberately going for a joke about the dissonance of cute cartoon animals cursing, i just have a character swear if it feels like it would make sense for them to? hmm
in conclusion: i dunno, i guess i can wait to decide when i actually have a script ready instead of scattered scenes. my writing strategy so far alternates between ‘lets try to improv some characters shooting the shit and see what they’d talk about’ and ‘heres a specific scene i know i want/need but i dont know what anyone actually says in it yet, just that theres like, for instance, an argument that happens here. time to start writing that and see if i come up with something decent that fulfills that purpose’
maybe i’ll try to rewrite the scenes with swearing in them as practice, and then i can figure out if theres better jokes or dialogue that i might have overlooked, or if the swearing really does add something valuable enough to need to be left in
#long post#im so sorry#i need a text post tag#anyway the characters will almost definitely swear in the completely original comic i still wanna make#because thats kind of what i want to do with that. show where characters are the kind of designs i like to draw#but like. can talk more like adults. i dont really want to do anything innappropriate for kids necessarily besides swearing#and maybe its mean of me to make something that would be fine for kids except for one small unnecessary detail... my biggest caveat#i just wish adult media could be kid friendly without becoming Childrens Media#but also i dont care about whether people think my thing is for kids or not unless they were rude about it i guess? hm#theres great kids shows out there but im repeatedly beginning to hit the thing where its like#‘i dont relate to these characters and struggles because i am not a kid anymore’#although that isnt a swearing problem. thats just me not really relating to child protagonists anymore#this is a whole lot of rambling to say: actually who knows what i’ll do. nothing is set in stone yet#neopets#putting that at the very end so that this big rambling screed doesnt show up in that tag
