physical money is still a thing in se, its just that the US dollar is the most unstable currency in the world now lol. the NEC has its own currency actually but some businesses also take yuans and us dollars. it just depends on whoever 🎣

there is next to no bonding over shared biological traits between martians and humans lol. they KIND of have a shared ancestor/creator of sorts but in different ways ⛹🏽 humans are meat, and martians are not…? some scientists on earth theorize that theyre actually a type of fungus, others even say theyre “rocks” of some kind.

i will ig say that martians (not as a whole) can find the inner workings of the human body absolutely fascinating if they have the time/intelligence to care or learn abt it! its so complex, something that theyre (in comparison) very much not and i have a couple of martian bg characters who dedicate their whole existences to studying the human body. humans meanwhile find martian biology very ANNOYING and DUMB and “HOW DO THESE THINGS EVEN EXIST” kind of thing. humans biologists and physicists i suppose have been forced to question EVERYTHING abt EXISTENCE becuz of martians and its a field of study that people on earth r sort of desperate for but like. u have to understand people have driven themselves genuinely insane and to suicide trying to figure out wtf exactly martians are lol

(well "dying" in tpns case), in torchwood the british government decides to sacrifice the academically lower achieving children to the 456, in tpn they let the children with the lowest test scores get harvested first and only the intelligent children who could live to twelve (albeit mostly the girls) get a chance at having their death prolonged by training to become a mother? the characters are like always fightinf with guns which is funny in the context of each series (people with guns , but theyre like 11 a lot of the time and people with guns , but its set in wales of all places )

heyyyy i j needed to let this out bc i’ve rly been overthinking ab it for days now🥲 i don’t feel like i’m struggling academically (?) bc i genuinely do know what i’m doing like i always get high scores for my assignments yk😭😭😭 but when it comes to exams i always fck it up mayn like….also my course is for 3 years and atm i’m in my scnd…any tips perhaps so i can have a major boost for my gpa😭😭😭🥲 also i take premed sigh

hiiii!!! im in archi and its a creative program so the exams are different than other majors including premed so i dont really have a solid advice BUT for my theoretical and minor courses, my study style is this:

always study 2-3 days before your exam. u can always cram it but if ur particular about ur gpa its always better to make sure bcs there are so sooo many details u can miss if u crank up 5 or less hours to study many lectures.

first of all, i do not advice studying on any electronic device. it personally does not work for me ): theres two things that do, and the firs one is taking notes on my notebook from the presentation file (if ur prof provides them). i feel like u can retain more info when youre the one who wrote it. but if i dont have a lot of time, i tend to take notes on a word doc and print them out later.

after the general notetaking, i read it again and highlight. ofc this is different for everybody but you really only need 1-2 highlighters! and make sure they are actually light and neon! i only have yellow and orange and it makes absorbing so much easier bcs these are colors that can be easily seen and remembered.

when highlighting is done, i then take out another paper/page to write what i understood from the previous step, and for me its really effective when you say it out loud. for instance, i pretend to give a lecture about it in my room.

i start studying at around 3 or 4 am. the night is not efficient for me (cant focus) and afternoon only works when im at a space like the library (where everyone is actually quiet)

sometimes when i really do have a lot of time to lend, i make a quiz on a site called "quizziz"!!!!! its really really effective but its just a bit time consuming. u can also do it with friends!

of course i dont always study like this and have crammed some of my exams and what i do during those times is kind of the same except its not as extensive😭 i still hand write notes, highlight and stuff, then just read them later during my public transpo commute and just give it to god during the exam hours lmfao.

also lastly, if u want a high gpa make sure to ask ur prof about their grading system! whats on the syllabus isnt always accurate to how they grade so its better if u ask them urself about it. also 2 weeks before the term/send ends or before the final examination, book a consultation with them to talk about ur current grade standing so u can ask how to reach a certain mark!!

another good one... i only now remembered i made a doc for headcanons and notes, put some family situation notes there, put it in a discord channel in my personal server, and then forgot about it and started shoving things in the channel rather than the doc. other than that, as a professional Thing Winger, most of it is me protecting onto the faves or just making shit up. but theres on thing i rbed from the treetownconfessions blog (one of these days i will 'confess' something) on main about the twins' tails puffing up when thry're upset and i really want that to be a thing... i also want to show some more autistic traits in them eventually...

okay so if you’ve been in the law of assunption community for a while you will know that affirmations are literally EVERYWHERE! EVERYWHERE YOU GO.

In this post i will explain:

• What are affirmations

• How to use affirmations to manifest

• Types of affirmations

• Why affirmations will benefit you in the long run.

WHAT ARE AFFIRMATIONS?

affirmations are sentences/statements that will help you bring you either your manifestation, better self concept or just anything in general. you can use them in any aspect of your life whether that is relationships, school, money etc.

HOW TO USE YOUR AFFIRMATIONS

using affirmations is really freaking simple- all you do is say them, you can either say them in your mind or say them outloud! whatever you prefer. some people repeat them 24/7..i personally wouldn’t recommend to do so, you dont have to- but why would u affirm 24/7 or something?? some people like to affirm whenever they think of their desire so lets say you are affirming to look like ariana grande whenever you think of ariana grande or your df you’ll say “i look like ariana grande”.

others like to drift off and say affirmations till they sleep in wish fulfilled aka lullaby method. ill talk about that in detail in another post. literally say them however you please! it doesnt really matter.

people often ask “does it matter if i say it past, future or present tense? NO. this is such a limiting belief when people say if you speak your affirmation in the future it will come in the future like NO. thats not true it doesnt matter what tense you say it. just remember to STAY IN THE STORY. DONT REPEAT THE OLD STORY

TYPES OF AFFIRMATIONS

theres a wide range of affirmations you can use so i will go through them ALL dont worry.

1 - Basic Affirming

this could just be like “I have what i want”, “I have all my desires” aka general umbrella affirmations, where they cover all. or just something like “I have xyz”

2 - Askfirmations

askfirmations are basically “Omg why did I manifest getting a million dollars so quickly” “Omg why am i such a fabulous pretty dream girl” literally anything like that.

3 - Complaining affirmations

okay so this is for people who like to complain or find it tough to simply put faith in their desires as a fact. so they would say “uggh i cant believe i manifested my desire so quickly” “uggh its so annoying have the most hugest ass in the entire world like”

4 - Rampaging!

rampaging is basically like just GOING ALL IN. you dont hold back you just go “yeah i have the most hugest fattest ass in the whole entire world i am so beautiful and amazing im stunning im a stunner people are literally mesmerised by how beautiful i am i feel like marilyn monroe.”

these are the ones i could think of atm but yeah there are LOADS its not just the ones i listed above there a whole wide ass range.

WHY AFFIRMATIONS WILL BENEFIT YOU IN THE LONG RUN

affirmations will help you in the long run because you are practicing every single damn day that you’re what you’re telling yourself, you repeating that story you are FOCUSING on that story and persisting in the affirmations so ofc you’re gonna get what you want literally no matter what.

So first of all

Not sure if u know but i was the one who found ur 'body' that night. The ONLY reason im still alive is cuz barty dragged me off those tracks kicking and screaming with another train came. I was the one who arranged ur funeral which i dont even remember cuz i now have dissociative amnesia so if ur gonna apologise for shit in the yr before or after ur 'death' dont bother cuz chances r i dont remember it anyway. The only things i remember is when mum and dad used to beat me and the night i killed them. The yrs after that were shit. I only started mourning ur death about 3 ish mnths ago. I dont rly know. I dont remember. The reminder of ur death was also the reason behind my first panic attack and the first time id broken down in YEARS. I had to go to therapy too. I tried to kms multiple times but was always stopped. The latest being that i tried to OD in my room with drugs AND alcohol. Which is why im banned from both atm while i sort my shit out. I have SO many mental illnesses that literally every therapist ive seen is shocked im still alive and were constantly finding more. I had to run away for a while cuz shit got too much. So i went to lyra as stephs place. The fell asleep, there are more probs with me falling asleep too, and they attacked me and tortured me cuz they think ur death is my fault, which it is, so cant rly blame them for that. So i came back. Broke down in bats arms, again, started going to therapy. Then yesterday i learned that bat helped u 'kill' urself and hell broke loose. Also theres more still. If i get hurt i cant ever ask or accept help because of my need to keep ppl away to protect myself. Oh also ive SHed everyday since u 'died'.

Bakugo and Midoriya are suddenly soulbound, and a lot of angst and emotions ensue, even after they are unbound. This thing kept me trapped for almost a full week, reading nonstop. Highly suggest.

so basically. with their relationship. drew is at camp like, a summer before annabeth, and is already friends with their friendgroup (travis, katie, clovis [holly isnt at camp yet]). annabeth joins them (bc of travis) and they instantly dont like each other. both are sassy and stubborn and argue just to argue. it starts off pretty heated when theyre kids (when they meet theyre like, 7/8 when they meet so normal kids beef over silly kid stuff). annabeth goes (to sally's) home with luke and thalia and jason, and drew goes to that school i cannot remember the name of atm

once theyre 12ish its more teasing than full-on hatred, but both still argue a lot. this is also after thalia's quest (which is basically her getting the athena parenthos instead of annabeth bc 1) i needed a quest for her 2) i love legacies 3)annabeth is too young) so chb has the athena parenthos, and annabeth knows a lot about it (became a greek nerd after finding out she was a demigod) and, because of travis and katie going off alone and clovis just being asleep, drew becomes her ranting source. drew genuinely likes hearing it, but she never admits it, and they become closer (close enough to genuinely miss each other during not-summer).

annabeth, at 13/14 probs, realizes, thanks to katie, that she does like drew. more than a friend amount. because once you get to know drew, shes fun to talk to, and sweet if she likes you. and since annabeth was her friend, drew was sweet to annabeth. and annabeth loved that - in a not friend way.

once annabeth is 16, she, percy, and hazel get a quest that involves going to camp jupiter. holly also happens to come this summer, while annabeth is away, and drew realizes. she definitely likes girls. she doesnt get with holly though, its more of realizing she really likes how holly looks, but definitely likes annabeth as a person more (tho, again, wont admit it). annabeth gets a minor crush on reyna at cj but its nothing big as she eventually chooses she prefers chb (and drew <3) over cj, and goes back for the summer (off topic, but percy agrees and comes with her while hazel finally finds a place where they fit and stays at cj)

so, now, in the summer where drew and annabeth are 17ish, gaeas war starts (i put gaea's before kronos' for specific reasons that are sort of nico centric? and i also wanted to kill off one of his friends in this war). theyre now preparing for war, and theyre obv worried for each other bc what if one gets in a battle and they die and the other cant save them or isnt even there for their last words ??? so they spend a LOT of time together, very homoerotic, but dont become official. just really really gay (which they already were, but its much more obvious now) in the end (after 2 years), neither die, only injured, and theyre very happy ofc <3

theyre 19, and this is drews last summer bc she plans to get a job and will most likely not be able to have an entire summer break. she doesnt straight up confess to annabeth, but does kiss her. annabeth is the one who confesses, though ofc not without teasing from drew, and theyre Finally together

at 22, annabeth is still at chb (she goes go to nr college, but still loves summer camp and visits sally & co regularly) and gets involved in yet another war (kronos' war). drew sort of knows about it from messages from annabeth, katie, travis, clovis, and holly, but she thinks its more of a long-term conflict and isnt too worried. when she does find out its a literal fighting war, she quits her job (which wasnt even paying her well so who cares) and goes to chb to help. but she came at the end of the war so shes more helping the campers heal, and checking on annabeth, and claiming that she wasnt worried at all (but annabeth knows that she was <3)

anyway. by now annabeth realizes theres so many kids at chb just without homes. esp older ones, since there are way less deaths in this au. so she gets plans for new greece, which are approved by chiron. and she makes a plan of her and drews house, and drew loves it, and they along with other older campers (mostly athena and hephaestus, plus some minor roman gods thanks to jason) start to build <3

they start off as Rivals an d hate each other but they tolerate each other bc same friendgroup and said friendgroup Knows they despise each other so they Always Somehow pair them alone and so theyre forced to bond and annabeth complains like drew is a Bitch and drew says annabeths a Pussy yk. but after like. 2 summers of shitting on each other they start to genuinely like each other and see each others Soft Sides . and also they eventually crochet sweaters together

Coincidentally, this is also the yr that bunnyfarm takes place! pn2 likely occurs around july-ish since yknow. summer camp! and bunnyfarm takes place in october, so theres a reasonable but not timeline-breaking gap between the 2

for sophie, i think shes got like. talking 2 ghost powers! (dunno the name of that. also it works for the au even if pn2 itself implies ghosts dont exist inuniverse kinda. but twf does so sashas just wrong in this au) alongside common stuff like telekinesis and telepathy. But i also think shed have very defensive specialties like the shield and invisibility, tho i think her powers are like. EXTREMELY suppressed and kinda fucked. in this au i think that like... the pills may possibly also have been intended to suppress her “unnatural” powers in conjunction w/ their previous, canon purpose, since they were likely seen as somehow being smth hurting her

she also likely has very light capabilities for time bubbles, confusion, and illusions, but they wouldnt be anywhere near a specialty

but playing bunnyfarm would like. essentially b her psychic awakening, tho she probably had one already when she was younger but cant remember it and the one after bunnyfarm is closer to the sudden spike due to trauma that pn seems to imply can occur. but i think her family would like. naturally b moderately strong psychics but that combined w her own suppressed ability 2 talk 2 ghosts like. broke thru basically and due to the extreme stress, her powers suddenly become SUPER uncontrollable and shes like auuuu fuck . god damn it

from here, jenny would contact the psychonauts for her cus shes like. im pretty sure they are psychics that help other psychics??? and would probably help her control it all since atm her brain keeps like. tossing their Nice Dishes!!!! (/j) and she just generally seems v stressed abt it and maybe they could help? so sasha nd milla (or mayb just 1 of them but i like the hc that agents are almost always sent in pairs for safety) show up and like. offer to help, and r like. we can train u, but it probably would take more than 1 day so ud have 2 head 2 hq. sophie kinda jumps at this not only so she will stop throwing things w her brain but also bc she does Not feel safe in brighton, not atm. tho shes... uncertain abt how jenny Cant go. she has college. i havent planned htat bit out but she does become convinced to go 2 the motherlobe, likely bc of safety, tho jenny goes w her on the ride there. she doesnt like being so far away from jenny but jennys like i WILL visit im not really leaving. ill send u letters :)

at hq one thing leads 2 another and sophie ends up as an intern!! cus its. very clear that smth is Up w her powers cus they jump between being completely subdued, bordering on nonexistent, to VERY strong and uncontrollable, so shes gonna need a mentor

since the issues w her power seemed tied w dealing w shit, rather than personal self control (since she seems good at that, thats not the problem), ottos too technology based, truman too leadership based, oleander too aggressive for the position and also not rly specializing in more “dealing w shit” stuff, and all the other potential mentors not taking mentees atm, her mentor is milla!

also, not inuniverse reasons so much as just from a writing perspective but like. milla and sophie work so well 2gether poetically. both have had Horrible and Horrifying experiences, milla abt losing the orphans she cared for and sophie abt losing her whole family and becoming and orphan, tho milla has learned to deal w her trauma and sophie very much hasnt. while other agents have lost others and dealt w their own traumas, sophies mirrors millas own the most, and i think that milla would b able to help her w the powers the most as a result

sasha and milla dont go in her mind when the first meet her. contrary to raz’ actions, this is not what most agents immediately jump to. rather, it takes a WHILE before they ever step foot in there. before they even do, they allow her to use the brain tumbler (milla joined since she wanted to very specifically work w her mentee!) and explore on her own tho its... very blocked off so she cant go many places

Hollis does a background check on sophie before she becomes an intern, since recent events have made ppl more on edge. Her search leads her to the information that sophie is missing her parents AND siblings and there is almost no info abt it anywhere. She doesnt know what to do w this info and just kinda… sets the discomfort around the mere idea aside

Sophie bumps in2 helmut one day (getting his body back is gonna take… a while. More than just 3 months, thats for sure) and is like. Is that a fucking brain in a hamster ball. Wearing a hat. And hes like Yes :) and, going off the hc that he can project figments (which im choosing to interpret as a form of illusion!), he waves w a figment and shes like holy shit. And the 2? End up genuinely getting along RLY well

Her pills also very specifically have psilirium in them. Yes, milla finds out and is. OH MY GOD?

Sophie is like. Super bad at levitation. This makes training w milla very hard but milla accommodates whenever sophie visits her mind!

sophies own projection in minds, including her own is… very unclear and undefined. Her general shape and face can be made out, but any other details are obscured. She also just looks perpetually very sad. In millas mind, at least, her self is very colorful to match :)

Speaking of minds: sophies mind, while planned enough to be its own post, does have a smaller starting segment. The first room is themed after her apartment room, and while some details are fuzzy, its near perfect. In her room is also a gray rabbit. The door is locked and the windows are gone

ive been meaning to watch and read series that i keep seeing ppl talk abt like dungeon meshi and um... breaking bad, and....... i know theres another one i cant remember... but um for some reason im scared of watching them in case i accidentally get hyperfixated on them. oh i think the other one was hxh maybe. anyways im not saying like i KNOW i will get hyperfixated on them, plus i have literally binged series in the past few months and havent gotten super attached to them i just have a weird thing in my brain that makes me scared that it could happen at ANY moment. basically im like *is not hyperfixated on anything atm* nooooo i dont want to get a hyperfixation noooo please dont make me obsess over a show or game!!!!! *is hyperfixated on something* acutally having hyperfixations is fine i dont care anymore.

virgil arrived trembling very late on an autumn night

logan was already asleep and roman was in his room doing something, only patton heard the gentle tentative knock on their front door

when he pulled the door open, he saw what looked like a child with a large backpack hurrying away from the door, so he called out "excuse me? Did you knock?" and it isnt until the person freezes and turns around that patton realises it's virgil - one of the sides he hasnt actually seen in YEARS

virgil hugs himself tightly, scratching harshly at his hoodie sleeves, mouth opening and closing wordlessly, not able to speak to someone so unfamiliar

patton can see tear tracks on his cheeks

"hey, kiddo, do you wanna come inside?" patton asks very gently, holding the door open as wide as it will go and taking a step back to give virgil space

it takes a good few moments of virgils eyes darting between the door and pattons shoulder and the sidewalk behind him and his feet but eventually he tiptoes up to the house and hesitates a moment before stepping into the warmth

as he passes by patton is reminded of how young virgil is compared to all of them, he's so small, just above five foot patton reckons, with lanky legs and the slightest baby fat on his cheeks still - he's only 16 if patton remembers correctly. last time he saw virgil was when he was 10.

he's different sure, his hair is no longer white but dyed a dull black, hes taller and clearly wearing makeup - and either he lost his freckles or he owns very thick foundation - but patton recognises the tentative tiptoe walk and the way he looks at the ground and hugs himself. he's still the same vulnerable child patton wished he could have seen more of all those years ago were it not for janus distancing the dark sides from them all

virgil is shaking like a leaf and still hasnt spoken (patton has never heard him speak besides whispered one or two words phrases to janus when they used to all attend meetings together) but patton guides him through to the kitchen quietly and makes him some chamomile tea which he knows is meant to be good for anxiety

he doesnt get much of an idea of why virgil is there since he still hasnt spoken a word - patton doesnt know at this point that virgil is autistic or selectively mute - but he knows that there must be a reason that paranoia felt the safest place to be was a totally new environement. something must have happened at home

he doesnt actually ask virgil what happened, knowing if he wanted to say he would, and simply tells him that he is safe and nothing will hurt him here. its late, if he would like patton can drive him back ((virgil instantly goes wide eyed and teary and shakes his head and breathes faster - patton holds his hand up and gently continues)) but if not then he can stay the night and they can talk in the morning

theres no negative response to that so once virgil has finished with his tea (only drinking about a third of it) patton shows him to the spare room, points out where the bathroom is, and gets him settled

it isnt until the next morning at breakfast that patton informs logan and roman what happened and that virgil is still in the room upstairs. roman is completely offended that it happened without any prior warning, that an intruder snuck under his nose, and logan is merely shocked and curious as to what happened.

i wont develop on that first day much more at the moment - but essentially the sides can only be outside of their own abode for 7 days (rounded up to midnight on the last day). if they are in the OTHER house (subconscious or conscious) by the time that week is up, their function will adjust and be reassigned to that part of the mind

virgil stays for six days - after the second day he was comfortable enough around patton to speak to him if they were on their own, but not at length. mostly whispering and never more than a sentence at a time. he told patton that he had a fight with janus and that he didnt want to be in that house anymore but he didnt share any details.

patton didnt feel he NEEDED details. if virgil felt uncomfortable in that house he didnt see why virgil should be made to stay there.

roman refused to speak to virgil the entire time he stayed there

on the seventh day of virgil staying with them, logan tried to speak to him in the morning, explaining that he must go back to the other house before midnight, thats just how its meant to be. it triggered virgil to have an anxiety attack right there in the living room and logan very bewildered helped him get through it.

patton took virgil back up to the spare room and reassured him that if virgil didnt want to do something he didnt have to - that included living with the others. virgil whispered that this is how things are meant to be - repeating logans words - and patton was internally furious. he told virgil he would soeak to the other two

that evening in the last couple of hours before virgil is due to either go back or be destined to stay with them forever, patton has logan and roman sat in the kitchen and refuses to give up his case

i wrote this dialogue a few months ago but this is where it begins:

P: He's just a child!

R: He's hardly an innocent little lamb, Pat

P: Don't you two remember being 16? Roman when you were that young you were still in school, you still had braces

R, blushing: No need to reminsce...

P: Logan when you were sixteen he hadn't even been created yet, not for another year. You were still figuring out how the mindscape worked!

L: I... was it really so long ago?

P: And when I was sixteen Roman and-- they were still-- *sigh* We were all just children. We were confused and scared but at least we knew where we belonged.

L, gently: Patton. He belongs in the subconscious with the others

P: You're both ignoring the fact that the must be a reason why he doesn't want to be there anymore. Why he doesn't want to be with them

R, angry and ready to fight: Are you suggesting they abused him??

P: No!! No, he said thats not it--

L: The mindscape would have alerted us in some way. And we are all essentially facets of Thomas; even if we all behave differently and hold different values, it is not in any of our natures to be maliciously cruel.

R: then what did patton mean?

P: I mean you know what the others are like. How they behave, how they live. Virgil has been with us for six days now and I can't be the only one who's noticed how different he is from the rest of them. He's quiet and cautious and gentle. He's frightened

L: Janus and Remus are not above feeling fear

P: I know but... He obviously doesn't feel safe with them. He doesn't fit in there

R: Well he doesn't fit in here either!! We've already got our dynamic all worked out - The brains, the brawn, and the beauty! A fourth doesnt fit into that!

P: well then we'll adapt so he does fit in

R scoffs and storms toward the closed kitchen door

P: Roman, please--

R opens the door and everyone freezes to see Virgil stumble back from it, clearly having been listening to their conversation

P: Oh kiddo... We were just--

R, bitter: Eavesdropping, huh?

V remains silent and glares at romans feet, hugging himself tightly

R: see, paranoia can't even look me in the eyes! He's obviously up to--

V: virgil

R, shocked because its the first time he has heard V speak and its quiet: what?

V: n-not paranoia. virgil.

everyone is silent and V immediately regrets speaking. he turns and hurries back up to the spare room

L looks from where V ran away, back at P's dejected look, and nods to himself, taking a deep breath

R sees this and instantly knows what it means - Logan has made his mind up. and what he says goes

R, sarcastic: great

R storms out and runs up to his room, slamming the door hard enough for P and L to feel it rumble from downstairs

After a moment P starts to stand up to go check on R and V. Then L's hand stops him

L: He can stay

P looks at L, eyes full to the brim with tears, looking so so hopeful and relieved. he sinks back to his chair and takes L's hand tightly

P: really?!

L nods and pulls his hand from P's hold: Really. If the mindscape thought it necessary to Thomas' psyche it could have prevented Virgil from even finding his way here. But it didn't

P wipes at his eyes and smiles wobbily

L: And we do have a spare bedroom. Which honestly always baffled me, I didn't request it of the mindscape... I daresay this may be the exact reason we were equipped with a four-bedroom house

P gasps: You mean this was destiny??

L: That is a highly emotionally charged way of putting it. But yes quite possibly

P sniffles and instantly pulls Logan into a tight hug. L very awkwardly returns it, then pulls back

P: Logan thank you so SO much, you have no idea--

L: I have one condition though

P instantly nods and looks at L very intently with a big smile

L, hesitating: You need to inform Janus before midnight

P's smile drops. his eyes drift to the digital clock on the oven - 23:34

L: At exactly midnight the change will be made permanent. While this was within Virgil's right to have a say in the matter, Janus is still his legal guardian. He--

P: he deserves to know...

L, sympathetic: I can handle telling Roman and--

P, desperate: I want to tell Virgil!

L, smiling softly: as you wish

P holds the telephone to his ear and dials janus' number. It only rings once

J: Hello? Virgil??

P: It- It's Patton.

J: Is virgil still there??

P: yes he-

J: For goodness sake Patton, do you have any idea what day it is, what time it is!! He was only supposed to stay a few nights!

P: I--

J: are you dropping him off? Do I need to pick him up?? I'll get in the car right now

P: Janus, I'm sorry he-

J: is he hurt?!

P: No! No he's not hurt

J: Then why the hell isn't he back yet! You know we don't have much longer!!

P: Janus-

J: I swear to GOD if anythinf has happened to him-

P: he isnt coming back

J: ... what?

P: Virgil, um... He's staying here. For good

J:

P: Janus, I--

*janus hangs up*

Patton stays frozen, hand over his mouth and eyes burning with unshed tears. he slowly lowers the phone back to the table, then sees movement in the corner of his eye. he gasps and quickly looks up.

virgil is standing just around the corner and jumps at pattons reaction, clearly highly strung. patton smiles reassuringly despite the tears in his eyes. "hey kiddo. sorry if i scared you"

virgil shrugs a little stiffly. it makes his backpack fall down his arm - and patton realises virgil has packed all his things in his bag again

"um.. do i- do i need to walk?" virgil asks, shaky and small

patton bites his lip and very slowly and carefully approaches virgil, stopping when virgil took a step back

"do you want to go back?" patton asks sincerely

virgil shakes his head immediately, strongly

patton nods to himself, but still prompts "are you completely sure?"

virgil slumps a little, voice even quieter. "i-i can go if you want"

"no" patton quickly says "no kiddo, i didnt mean that at all. youre allowed to stay if you want to"

virgil actually meets pattons eyes for the first time in his life - only for a second, but it blows patton away a little - "really??"

patton smiles sadly. "really really" then he turns serious. this is a serious matter after all. "but its permanent, okay? and if you change your mind or not thats completely fine but you have to do it in the next-" he checks his phone "-7 minutes so that I have enough time to drive you back"

virgil blinks hard and takes a big measured breath at that. he even sways a little and patton holds his arms out - not touching virgil but offering him something to hold if he needs to

virgil tentatively holds onto the sleeve of pattons fleece. "can, um... am i allowed to sit down?"

"of course, kiddo, come on" and patton leads him to the living room

they sit on the couch, just a couple of feet between them. by virgils doing - pat sat down first and let virgil sit wherever he pleased. when virgil didnt take the seat furthest and instead sat right next to pstton, the older side knew virgil must need comfort

and for the next few minutes virgil just sat and breathed a little too shallow and fast and looked at his phone every moment to check the time. it was the longest few minutes of either of their lives, sitting in silence and waiting for virgil to make up his mind

at least thats what patton thought, until he saw the time reading 23:58

it was well past the time they had to leave if they could get virgil back in time. virgil wasnt making up his mind - he was counting down the seconds until he was officially free from the subconscious

and then the clock hits midnight and virgil goes deadly tense and still, as if he's waiting for his phone to blow up in his face or something. neither of them moves or speaks, its been silent for minutes but this is deafening

but after a minute or two with no exploding phone or whatever else virgil expected, he breathes a big shaky sigh. he looks hesitantly up at patton, eyes falling just to the right of his head to avoid eye contact "is-is that it?"

patton nods slowly, a little stunned himself. "i guess so. do you feel any different?"

virgil blinks and frowns. then whispers "i'm... anxiety."

"you feel anxious?"

virgil picks at a loos thread on his ripped jeans. "y-yeah but... but my function"

"oh!" patton gasps, not knowing what else to say. he goes for reassurance. "well that's okay. whatever you are, you're still virgil."

"i... do i live here now?" virgil whispers, and the hope and relief in his voice is just too much for patton not to smile

"you live here now" he assures, feeling his heart swell when he sees the tiniest hint of a smile pull at virgils lips - the first sign of joy he's shown since being there

"can i please hug you virgil?" he asks

virgil hesitates, ducking his head a little, but then he nods very subtly.

patton carefully scooches closer on the couch and hunches down to wrap his arms around virgil firmly but softly. virgil is tense in his hold, so patton only hugs him for a brief moment before pulling away and smiling down at him

"welcome home kiddo" he whispers

so as you can see patton clearly warms up to virgil quickly - it doesnt take logan much longer though virgil is intimidated by him at first and they dont get very close for at least a year. roman hardly speaks to virgil for weeks, and beyond that their interactions are limited to arguments and insults for at least two years. it isnt until virgils third year living there when he helps roman realise he has undiagnosed adhd that they start to get along more, albeit reluctantly at first
