(Rated T) yukari takeba(persona 3) is yosuke's sister. this unlocks a whole batch of things. This fic does an excellent job in yosuke's self esteem and yukari's family issues, as well as giving souji's own issues time to shine. this fic literally made me go OH out loud in public so yeah defo 20/10

Rated T; a stardew valley-esque AU that somewhat follows the beats of their original story, but sees the characters as grown-ups dealing with Life (TM), with Yosuke as the manager of Junes and Souji taking over his grandfather's farm in Inaba. There's a kind of mature calmness to the atmosphere here that is both gentle and delicate, and the result is something so very gorgeous.

(and honestly, anything written by Chash has been 11/10)

Rated G; where Yu has to work on his social stats in order to confess to yosuke - the writing here is SO beautiful and there's something so wonderfully emotional about Yu's pining here (I adore any fic that makes use of game mechanics as a plot point lol)

Rated T; time-travel AU where Yosuke has the ability to jump through time and struggles to create a happy ending for everyone. Yosuke's characterization here is so perfect and beautiful, and the fic is very poignant and emotional during the entire ride, but I promise the payoff is absolutely worth it.

Rated T; "kissing practice", where Yosuke is perhaps a little oblivious, but he learns something along the way. Yu is so very patient and Yosuke is a very very lucky boy. This fic is sweet, fluffy overload and I am not complaining one bit.

Rated G; Yosuke finally coming to terms about his feelings. I really love fics where Yosuke struggles a little but also when there's a contradiction between what he says and what he does, and this fic was just so cute about it!

If you've spent any amount of time on this blog/with me you would know how much of a sucker I am for fics that feature food as a metaphor for love - the playful, knowing banter between them juxtaposes beautifully with the bittersweet tone, and it made me so very very soft.

Rated G; another adorable fic where Yu and Yosuke share umbrellas. I don't recall if I've posted about the umbrella scene before but I've adored it since day 1 and this fic made it something so much more. Yosuke needs a little help arriving at certain realisations, but when he does it's absolutely brilliant. I also really love the way Yosuke plays off with Kanji here, and I love how some thing can be so simple yet so impactful!

Rated M; same theme of first kisses in the guise of "kissing practice", a theme that I am so weak for and could read a hundred million times. I adore the careful, tentative atmosphere in fics like these, and again, YOSUKE IS A VERY VERY LUCKY BOY.

Rated M; yu somehow manages to read minds, and reading yosuke's teaches him something interesting. it's kind of a naughty fic so I won't go into too much detail, but it's great and that's all i'm gonna say on the subject.

tip 1- the posting format isnt that hard to get used to actually its just you create a tumblr text post and then copy and paste your fic onto it, add the tags and stuff then post it. if you want to add banners, headers and stuff to make it look better then go ahead, just add images to the text post

tip 2- the info area is the same as above, just add pictures of your choice etc to the text post, add your information, name, age, fav things etc and then to link posts to your post, highlight where u want the link to go, then copy the link of the post u want linked then press the hyperlink that looks like two chains linked together when you highlight the text if that makes sense? sounds like a lot but its rlly not i promise haha

tip 3- always type your fics on other apps like word or google docs since they have an auto save feature!! i dont reccomend typing your fics on tumblr since one if the app crashes, it doesn't automatically save your work so everything you wrote will get deleted (some versions of tumblr do have autosave, my laptop has it but my phone and iPad doesn't, so i dont rely on it)

tip 4- idk if you want tips on actual fic writing or just how to get your fics onto tumblr but ill help you with that anyway. with me when i write fics i always imagine it out in my head. theres some of my fics where i just went with the flow and wrote wgatever came to mind and those are the fics i hate the most because they dont rlly make sense to me. theyre always so random and it just seems rushed and bad.

i picture my fics like a scene in my head and whatever i want the character to do, think, say or feel i write that shit down asap. i use other online sources to help get more descriptive like the emotion theasurus <- honestly one of my favourite things to use ever, they have so much body language to use for every emotion in the damn book

dialogue is also something i find difficult. i've improved i personally feel like but its still hard for me especially if im writing a new character. i never want to make the character seem OOC so i do lots of research before hand. i normally use the wiki to read up on a characters personality.

for example i'll use ran for this since he's like 99% of my account lmao. in the wiki, he's described as "naturally whimsical toward others which makes him inscrutable" though ran doesnt have many scenes in the manga (which i hate bc i love him sm) its impossible to actually write him down to a tee so i use that naturally whimsical description to make him playful, charismatic, carefree etc, going off what little information i have with him.

getting a characters personality down is what can make or break a dialogue. for me when im reading a fic of a character and their dialogue is so OOC it puts me off and i dont even wanna read. so i apply my same fic icks to myself and think if I don't like seeing this and that in a fic, why would I incorporate those in my fics and have ppl get put off it if they have the same fic icks as me?

tip 5- dont rush yourself at all. i used to rush a few of my fics and i just ended up hating it so much after and fought bck the urge to delete them so many times but then i'd see people's comments and realise i was being too harsh on myself. i'd keep them up but i'd just hate seeing them get attention.

rushing only makes you hate your work and the quality of your work will decline if you are not in the right headspace.

thats also why i have the don't rush me thing in my rules because not only is it annoying to see people constantly asking for updates, it also makes me mad because i know i'll just put out a piece of garbage if i did rush.

also another tip don't give yourself deadlines!! if you know your writing consistency can be a little sloppy, don't tell your followers that you're going to upload every so and so day. if something happens and you miss the deadline, you'll feel bad and rush something out and most times out of ten, a rushed fic doesn't do well. so take your time and don't rush.

tip 6- dont listen to what other people say or feel obligated to write something you don't wanna. establish your boundaries!! for example, from day one i started this blog i said im accepting requests but i will not write anything to do with non-con, incest or minors. i made sure that was out there so i wouldn't feel uncomforable writing anything i wasn't comfy with.

there are people on this app that may like your writing and request you to write something for them. you are not obligated to write anything for anyone! don't feel like you have to just because they asked nicely.

if you want to accept requests you can im not saying you shouldn't, im saying don't feel like you have to. you always have a choice. its your blog.

tip 7- remember this isn't a job. you're allowed to take breaks, allowed to have a personal life. don't feel like you need to be updating every day. i used to think i was obligated to be uploading consistently at least every week because i was obsesssed with engagement and seeing peoples comments and was scared if i took a break ppl will unfollow. now i honestly don't care. i'm not active as much as i used to because of school and that's fine! if ppl want to leave, let them. don't feel like you're forced to keep being active in order to keep your follower count stable.

tip 8- this app can get really toxic sometimes. luckily enough i've only had one toxic anon in my inbox and i've been on this app for a year. some people have so many, some ppl get harrassed etc. if that happens to you just be prepared since there's no actual way to find out who's behind anons. you can turn off your anon options which means if ppl want to inbox you something then their account will be showing. some people arent comfortable with that and that's fine! i keep mine on because i want people to feel comfortable on my page.

just remember though if you ever feel like this app is getting overwhelming take breaks! for the sake of your mental health take breaks. i know so many writers on here that took breaks and came back healthier and stronger.

i feel like this tip goes for social media in general. as much as i love social media im aware how unhealthy it is. breaks are so important for you. remember that.

First was introduced to you through someone reccomending Wyidias on tiktok and so i decided to check it out and you did not dissapoint but instead made me more intrigued to see where each chapter will take the story. I love the relationship between Jegulus as well as the support from Sirius which in many fics involving the 3, we dont see much off if not any, so i was really happy to see his support for his brother as well as bestfriend. Also fuck Walburga & orion but somehow I still like the way you interpreted their characters (not so much the transphobia but i understand why its done and i like how it someone inproves the story as well as show how truly in love with Regulus James is, as we all are by now lol),

I've also started reading sots and so far so good, this fic is probably the fic that actually introduced me to rosekiller abd actually made me like Barty in fanon (cuz fuck canon lol), theres so much about his character that i never considered to think about before that you opened my eyes to and ive since grown obsessed with anything Barty and Evan related so thank you for that. As excited as i am about future chapters, im terrified for bkth characters but i think thats a really good thing to show my infatuation with the story youve created, it truly is smth you should be proud of, to get ppl such as myself to be so obsessed with fictional characters barely mentioned in fanon, its an accomplishment and you should love yourself for that. Evan and Barty are now officially my favourite ship and i have no kne else to blame but you so thanks,i appreciate you.

Like genuinly, i truly appreciate what youre writing and just you as a human being, whenever i c a notif for any of ur fics i internallly scream (almost Externaly but if i werent an introvert i probably wouldve lol), i just love everything youve created and cant wait to see any other wips that you have in the making in the near future.

Encanto Fanfic Reccomendations!

I’d like to reccomend some really well written fanfics on Encanto :) I mean theres probably loads out there but, finding them can be hard and I dunno I just feel like, I wanna share these two with people.

Extended Family is Still Family

First one I like becuase, what IF Mirabel started to become withdrawn and quiet, instead of her usual cheer and being brave? Only so much a person can take Like what if “Dont draw attention to yourself, best to stay aside, for the family.”

But people also notice and dont want history to reapeat itself? A lot of fics really DEMONIZE the Madrigal family. I cnat imagine they would truly be so openly cruel? Abuela certainly can be mean and Isabela but I doubt her entire family would just ignore her? Her parents alone seem very loving people to all there daughters. And why would Antonio suddenly turn on her after getting his gift when its clear he loves her so much?

Spiolers ahead, I like in this one we get diffrent interpretations. Like Pepa not talking about her brother is more painful than being mad? Maybe its easier NOT to say anything thinking it wont hurt? Which is usually incorrect, sometimes talking helps and, pretending things are okay dont?

How the kids band together later on in chapters in nice seeing them all interact together. Getting a little look inside all there heads, how her Tia Pepa is determined, and Camilo come to think of it, that Mirabel not feel she hasta hide away or there better off without her.

I feel like canonly, Abeula would always keep a certain distance from Mirabel? The thing is, shes not very kind to her but its not exaclty obvious? Its like tolerating a stray puppy. She doesent shout or hit her but, she “politley” puts her down? Or acts like shes just waiting for her to mess up. Its a more subtle passive agressive thing? And, ANYONE could fall under it, if they step out of line or suddenly prove to be useless(Bruno falls under this).

Its easy to dislike Isabela but Im glad for her character non the less? Siblings often dont get on and can be mean to each other like that, talking from experience here. Just cuz your born into a family doesent mean you’ll get along?

And can also understand a bit WHY she is the way she is. I think its partly not wanting to get rejected too, jealousy her little sister has so much freedom(I mean if Mirabel messes up no big deal, if Isa does wont people come down on her WAY harder cuz shes supposed to be PERFECT?), and a little of conditioning. Isa was still a little girl growing up when Mira lost her gift. Being Abuelas favourite and seeing how she treated Mira, she probabaly felt like it was okay? To do so, because she wasent “special”. Following by example

But the mean spioled princess doesent seem to be the real Isabela either, thats another plus. We only see a little in the film but it suggests the REAL Isa is someone a lil more wild, happy.

Two Butterflies: Gone with the Wind

Second fave is WHAT if Mirabel was taken away and prevented from growing up in this toxic enviroment? This is Bruno, knowing of course first hand expereince what thats like. She grows up instead a happy, vibrant girl. Honeslty not too diffrent from her canon self but she doesent have that sense thats shes worthless or hasta try to hard, and because she didnet grow up scared of Abeula, shes not scared to speak her mind?

Its always easier to see problems from the outside and, to stand up to people if your not conditioned to be afraid of them? I get why its hard for anyone in the family to stand up to Abuela, most of them were children themseleves with her hardnosed ways.

BUT again we also get to look into peoples heads, including Abuelas, and understand WHY they do the things they do? Its not like there trying to be cruel they just dont quite see what there doing? Heck we all do this, especially when we dont know all the facts. Have you ever decided you hate someone but then later on discover some things that make you see it ina diffrent light, realise yoru wrong? And other times even with it, it still doesnet mean you can forgive them.

Its well written without being overly anylitcial like a textbook? People dont talk so seriously and they dont just suddenly work out becuase you say so? Often its butting heads and arguments. So this feels like yeah this is REAL people and difficult emotions?

I know modern witchcraft isnt really common knowledge for most people, although I did answer an ask that's was otto with a kitchen witch, I'm sure most of yall would need some clarification on the basics of witchcraft in order to understand.

Me myself am only a baby witch, I started learning because of quarantine so I have very limited knowledge that may or may not be entirely correct, but just know for now it's not satanic, we dont worship the devil, we are not evil automatically because we are a witch. Modern witchcraft has next to nothing to do with media portrayed witchcraft. We even spell the word magick with a k to signify that it is different from the make believe shit.

You dont have to believe in it, just be respectful. Concerning religions, witchcraft can be incorporated into literaly any religion ever (although wicca is, as I like to think of it, the one religion where witchcraft is basicaly its official form of practice put simply. Dont quote me on that tho, I hardly know anything that's just how I think of it) and you dont even have to use religion in it at all if you dont want to.

Theres many different ways to practice, and many different types of witches. Just know the labels arent gonna make or break your witchcraft career like the whole thing is very open. Theres a type of which (I dont remember right now) that is literaly a home brewed mix of whatever type of witchcraft you practice

Theres a lot, just know that. But you shouldent let the labels define witches just like you shouldent let race, gender, age, or religion define a human person. As I like to say, nothing is black and white. It's all a mixture of gray.

If you dont think this kind of reader fic is gonna be for you, that's totaly fine. Everyone has their own tastes. I'm gonna be mostly self portraying in it with my limited knowledge from my own witchcraft experiences. Not everything is gonna be completely accurate regarding witchcraft. This is gonna be a bumpy ride, but I wanna attempt it.

If you are still really confused on modern witchcraft but are interested in the fic, plz plz plz take the time to research about it. I wont be starting it till I finish Silent Love so you've got a while. Research is the backbone of witchcraft, since there isnt a set book or bible telling us about it and how it 'must' be done. I'd reccomend youtube searching a witchcraft series to get started. But DONT ONLY PULL FROM ONE SOURCE PLZ. I'll try and do my best to explain things in the fic since Axel will know nothing himself about modern witchcraft, but it still might be a bit confusing. Also the fic is not mean to substitute for real witchcraft research plz it's just a story for funsies. You wouldent go reading a fictional story about the irish to learn how to be irish, would you? No. It doesnt work like that.

If you are a more experienced witch than me (most likely if you've been practicing for over 2 months) and you see me doing or saying something wrong or misinforming plz plz plz call me out, I dont wanna mislead people and miss educate. I think this fic could be a great opportunity for people to get familiar with modern witchcraft so it scares less people. Hate is born out of ignorance and lack of knowledge. Even if you dont wanna read the fic, you could still go out and learn about witchcraft If you want to that's your choice. You dont have to commit to practicing it or anything, but knowledge is power sometimes, ya know?

I dont have a name for this new fic yet, but I will probably announce it (mabey with a like prologue thing if I can come up with one)

@the-cowbi - ive known about their oc Cora for like a month and a half and i!! Would!! Die for her!! I love all of their fics but 'Melting Icecream at 3 am' made me so!!! Akdjskdjskskfmksnrkskrkskrjsktkr you just need to read it!!! Mouse is such a talented writer!!

Genderbend stories

Ok so genderbend stories are something I dont look for or interact with very often, not because I'm squicked out or hate the concept or anything like that. I think I'm just a little distrustful of them from past experiences with both fanfiction and original stories (like manga and anime). There of course have been ones that i loved and thought were extremely well written but most of the genderbend stuff I find is either very insulting to large quantities of people or not well thought out. Let me give a couple of examples of what I mean. TW- THERE ARE PARTS I TALK ABOUT RAPE, MOLESTATION, AND HARRASMENT! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED

Example 1-

I was in a rare mood of wanting to find genderbend fics for a specific character in a fandom I dont really like anymore (which fandom it is doesn't matter) that also included a rareish pairing. I found one that the summary made seem really interesting and since it had only two chapters I started reading. So the main character (male) through magic has his body turned into a female one unwillingly and freaks out like you do (this was probably the only momemt I liked in the story because they make a point to write that even if his body is a woman's he is still male and will keep using he/him pronouns since the change was forced on him) Female friend 1 (ff1) comes in and starts talking about how woman are treated which would be good if ff1 then hadn't forced MC to take a shower with her. O_O it gets worse ff1 then proceeds to touch mc in his private areas and when he expresses disgust, fear, and hurt over this ff1 tells him "its ok to feel violated now because only women can get raped and molested" which is fucked up on so many levels. Chapter 1 (the only one I read) doesnt get better mc hangs out with his friends but male friend 2 (mf2) starts sexually harrasing him because of the changed body, mc thinks about how when he had his real body he felt dirty and ashamed about having a crush on mf1 but now that his body is female he feels clean (at this point mc has also started using she/her pronouns for himself), MC goes to train and spar with his friends but because he has a woman's body hes clumsy, weak, and fragile. I stopped reading at this point because wtf way to write a pile of sexist, transphobic, homophobic shit (I'm saying transphobic because the author made sure to throw in lots of lines fron every character about how someones gender must match the sex of the body theyre in and if you dont youre a fool who will learn eventually). Now obviously this example is pretty extreme not every genderbend fic has all of the problems this one did, but a lot have at least one of these themes the one I run into the most being some level of transphobia. Whether its making comments about sex=gender or the character just accepting that thier entire life has changed with no problems (because even if theyre not expiriencing dysphoria they should be having worries about other things). I see alot of sexist genderbend stories mainly when the mc is a guy whose body is turned into a woman's. I definelty see the homophobic ones the least but i still see too many of them.

Example 2-

Like I said at the beginning its not just fanfiction or fancomics that I see this happen, theres quite a bit of manga and anime that do it as well. One of my older siblings like reccomending manga to me and when they found out I identify as both a woman and a man (bigender) they tried showing thier support in the reccomendations, sadly they assumed a lot of stuff and none of it was good. I don't remember the name of the manga the showed me but the story of it was this 50-60 year old yakuza leader needed to go into hiding so he hires a black market plastic surgeon to change his identity. The surgeon ends up being a p@do and makes his body into that of a 15yo girl, the gangster gets away but then starts living as a 15 yo high school student. I didnt read too much (I didnt want to read it at all) but my sibling told me plenty of stuff about it like how some of the boys at school sexually harass the mc gangster and how he peeks at the girls during gym. I should mention my sibling is trying to understand and is a lot better now but growing up in a deeply religious red state our entire lives has definelty left marks.

Genderbend stories can be really great I have seen some pretty funny ones that don't use these bigoted themes. Hell I really like a lot of genderbend comics here on tumblr because when written right they can be really fun and lighthearted. I don't hate genderbend stuff but I think a lot of the people who write them are misinformed or young so theyre not for me most of the time.
