Io has been editing like gangbusters! And actually is indeed almost done with editing the next chapter (reminder, only half of what was going to be the next chapter).
Which means it's time for another sneak peek. I'm thinking: "Yuuri introduces LOVE-ly to Murata and his boyfriend". I was thinking about "Viktor opens his birthday present", but then that would ruin the surprise of what's in the box, and I don't want to be too spoilery in these sneak peeks.
Yuuri gave her a curious look, but Yuuko just waved it off — she didn’t want him worrying about her — so he turned to his friends. “LOVE-ly, you’ve already met Yuu-chan briefly before. This is Murata Akira, silver medalist in Men’s, and…” He paused, since he hadn’t yet met Shiga himself.
“Shiga Ichiro. It’s so very nice to meet you.” Shiga-san bowed quite low while the girls gave him their best cute, media-ready smiles.
“This is Noda Haruka, Yoshida Fumika, Ito Erika, Isobe Satomi, and… Kanon.” Yuuri paused with a frown, digging his toepick into the ice. “I’m not being weird. I’m not supposed to use her last name. I probably should have gone with just first names for everyone, but too late now.”
Laughing, Kanon shook her head and stepped forward. “It’s fine, Yuu-kun.” She looked at the new arrivals, her smile a bit more genuine now. “I just don’t use my last name professionally. It’s very nice to meet you all.” She bowed alongside the rest of the group before looking over at Yuuri. “You’re getting better, Yuu-kun. One day you might actually be good at this.”
Yuuri shook his head. “Where is the bubbly? Keiko told me last night that your personality type was cute and bubbly. I was expecting bubbly.”
Shiga-san stepped forward. “Kanon-chan is cute and bubbly, Katsuki-san, but Kanon-chan also has a secret mysterious side.” His expression was so earnest that Yuuko had to hide her blossoming smile behind her hand. The excitement at meeting some of his favorite idols was definitely evident.
By contrast, Yuuri’s expression was unreadable: he looked straight down at the ice for a second before turning his attention to Kanon. “Is ‘mysterious’ code for ‘skipped a handshake event because you weren’t happy with what the producers did with that one single and decided to fix it yourself’?” he stage-whispered.
“No. It’s code for ‘I don’t use my last name’.” Kanon replied, smiling at him.
Yuuri hummed. “I thought you didn’t use your last name because your mother is the head of a legal department for a multinational.”
Kanon lifted one shoulder in a delicate shrug. “There is that, since my mother was hoping I’d get the modeling and singing nonsense out of my system and settle down and go to university after I graduated from Fukuzawa. But we all know that was never going to happen. So now it’s just ‘mysterious’.” She tilted her head to the side and gave him a small smile. “Don’t you think I’m a little mysterious, Yuu-kun?”
From where she was standing, it was easy for Yuuko to tell that Yuuri was biting the inside of his cheek to try and stop blurting out his initial reaction. “Well, it’s probably a better defining type than just ‘bubbly’. I mean, bubbly? How is ‘bubbly’ at all related to argumentative?” he remarked, forcing Sattan and Erika to hide their giggles behind their respective hands.
Kanon pursed her lips and drew in a deep breath. “I’m argumentative? You’re the one who is so competitive that–”
“Would the two of you stop?” Haruka-chan cut Kanon off, shaking her head before turning to smile at Yuuko. The rest of LOVE-ly were still tittering, but Haruka-chan seemed to be pretending that they weren’t. “Yuu-kun has told us a lot about you, Yuuko-san. It’s very nice to see you again.”
Yuuri groaned. “I hate this sort of small talk, and now I’m no longer allowed to argue with Kanon-chan about what exactly makes her 'mysterious' because No-chan says so. I’d rather skate and leave you all to talk or whatever, so that is what I’m going to do. No-chan, if you all wanted to be super nice to me since I’m doing you a favor… Shiga-san might like a photo or autograph or something. You know, idol-y things. じゃあね 。(Ja ne)” Yuuri took off before anyone could say something to stop him, skating straight for the far end of the rink.
However, Kanon apparently had one more thing to say, leaning forward onto her toes and calling out at a volume that Yuuri couldn’t hope to miss, “Does anyone have a one hundred yen coin? I need to test a hypothesis.” This sent Yuuri spinning on his skates to stare at the lot of them, his face suddenly an astonishing shade of crimson.

The BtDS coffeeshop au, sing, goddess, where yuuri and yuuko do run a beachside seal cafe with views of the rookery, cafe of which viktor becomes a frequent patron! ♥
so robbie and nica and i were joking about cafes dedicated to the things we like and a concept for a seal cafe came up and…
The Katsudon Cafe is lit in shades of nautical blue, with wide bay windows stretching out towards the sea. Its deck has access to a small beach via a handsome silver-wood staircase, crusted with sand and aged with salt spray.
This beach is currently closed off for pupping season, so Viktor can only watch from a distance as the tide rolls in just short of the flippers of several large harbour seals and their pups, all of them sunning themselves in the sparse afternoon sunlight. His pen taps idly against the empty Moleskine on the table next to him; a light breeze stirs the pages as he contemplates the seals below.
Someone clears their throat next to him, and Viktor turns and looks up. Immediately his breath is stolen by the way the sunlight hits the soft features of the young man looking down at him. He smiles, and the young man returns it with a quirk of his rosebud lips as he sets a latte mug down in front of Viktor, his cheeks burning bright pink.
“Thanks,” Viktor says, noticing the way the man’s seem to warm like the coffee in the mug in front of him. There’s a little Makkachin drawn into the foam; he can’t help but take a picture. “This is so cute!”
The man flushes harder, bobbing a little in thanks. His hands work for a moment before he seems to realise that Viktor can’t understand him, and he flushes harder before beating a hasty retreat across the deck into the cafe. Viktor watches him slip through the French doors with some semblance of regret, as it was probably due to his own cluelessness that the man can’t linger a little longer.
He turns his attention back to the latte. It is warm and smooth on his tongue.
Viktor returns to the cafe several times. It’s not far from his own cottage on Dean, after all, given its proximity to the little beach. The sheltered nature of the beach naturally makes it an excellent rookery for Torvill’s seal population, and so the Katsudon Cafe has earned a reputation on TripAdvisor as ‘the seal cafe’.
All the proceeds from the cafe go to rescue and rehabilitation efforts for the Harbour Watch, so Viktor is all too glad to give them his money in return for Japanese-style pastries and coffee. The main proprietor of the shop, Yuuko Nishigori, has memorised his name by the second time he shows up, and the way he likes his coffee by the third.
“Who’s the cute guy who helps you out?” Viktor asks after his fifth visit. Yuuko looks over at the young man, who’s got earbuds in as he wipes down some empty tables, and smiles.
“Yuuri,” she says. “His family own the Yu-Topia resort. You know, he’s sort of a budding writer himself.”
“Really.” Viktor drums his fingers on the counter. Yuuko presses a button on the coffee grinder. The smell of fresh-ground beans fills the air. “What does he like to write?”
“I don’t really know. We bought some copies of the literary magazines he wrote for in uni, though? He had some short stories and poems in them.” She gestures towards the little reading corner with the soft armchairs and the book and magazine racks. “They’re in there somewhere.”
His latte comes, this time accompanied by a slice of tiramisu. Viktor takes a seat by the big bay window, looking out at the whitecaps and the wheeling gulls overhead, and thinks about the best ways to describe how the light caresses Yuuri’s back as he dances from table to table.
On Viktor’s seventh visit, there’s a seal he hasn’t seen before on the beach, sunning himself a couple meters away from all the others.
“That’s the Katsudon this cafe is named after,” one of Yuuko’s daughters tells him. Axel Nishigori is doodling with chunky crayons on the table next to his, while her sisters pore over something on a camera.
“Yeah, he’s Torvill’s resident seal!” agrees Lutz, marking something on a piece of paper. Viktor has to marvel at today’s youth – when he was six, he barely knew how to write, let alone fill out a tide chart. “Momma says he’s twenty-three years old.”
“That’s really old for a seal,” says Viktor.
“Yeah, he’s an old man.” Loop grins toothily at him. Viktor looks out over the deck railing again, at the seal who is now sprawled out supine against the sand, wriggling to try and get into a comfortable position. There’s a momentary pause as the seal seems to notice him watching, and then it turns on its side, wiggles a flipper, and flops back onto its back.
Viktor’s not sure if the seal had intended to do that, but he’s fascinated all the same.
Yuuri’s there the next time Viktor visits, dutifully working behind the counter. “You’re not much of a talker, are you?” he asks, for lack of a better conversation starter. Yuuri flips the switch on the espresso machine before he shakes his head.
“He’s mute,” Yuuko explains from where she’s rearranging the cute little seal-themed merchandising. A storm of tourists had come through earlier; Viktor had seen them crowding the deck to take pictures as he passed by the cafe with Makkachin. They’ve probably moved on into the town proper, and are tearing up the boardwalk now. Viktor’s glad he doesn’t have to deal with them.
“Oh,” he says. “Is it a…”
“He’s been signing since childhood,” replies Yuuko. There’s a sudden loud hissing of the steam wand as Yuuri foams up the milk; Viktor can’t blame him for not wanting to hear any more talk about himself.
He dredges up the very little knowledge he has about British Sign, and thanks Yuuri in it when the man brings it to his table. Yuuri flushes, and Viktor wishes he were an artist instead so he could capture the roses in Yuuri’s cheeks.
Viktor’s not stupid. He knows better than to flirt with someone on the job.
But he’s never seen Yuuri off the job, either. The man seems to be a ghost in this town, simultaneously everywhere, on everyone’s tongues, but not quite there.
Katsudon the seal, too, is also an engima like that.
(It takes Viktor a stupid amount of time to notice that neither Yuuri nor Katsudon have ever been seen alongside one another.)
“So, how’s Torvill treating you, Viktor?” Phichit Chulanont asks him as he comes by the cottage with boxes full of delivered groceries. Viktor helps him carry them into the kitchen, setting them on the table with a grin. Phichit snaps a picture of Makkachin lazing on the tile, and Viktor gins.
“It’s been good,” he says. “I’ve been spending most of my time at the Katsudon Cafe, though.”
“I know,” says Phichit, because of course he does; Viktor’s only been in the town for three weeks and he already knows that Phichit Chulanont knows everything about everyone. “My best friend works there, actually! Yuuri Katsuki? Dark, brooding, and handsome?”
Viktor laughs at that. “You can say that again,” he says. Phichit giggles.
“He and I both loved your book, The King and the Skater. Well, I mean, I liked it more than he did – he’s more of a fan of your poems, I think. Or was it one of the earlier novels? I don’t know, he’s bought like all of them.”
Viktor feels his ears heating up. “I heard he’s a writer?” he asks, mostly to deflect the attention. Phichit grins.
“Yeah, he’s really good! I first met him because he wrote my favourite Stuchai fanfic. But his original stuff is also amazing. He performed some sonnets of his at the arts festival last year, and everyone agreed that he was robbed when JJ Leroy won instead.”
Viktor looks out at the late afternoon sun glinting off the distant waves, at the distant shape of the cafe and its deck swarming with people clamouring for photos of Katsudon. Phichit seems to notice that too, as he clears his throat and grins at Viktor.
“Are you going to the dance on the boardwalk tonight?” Phichit asks suddenly. “I’m going to make sure Yuuri goes – he’s not a party person, but he’s also been locked in his room angsting about you for weeks, so –”
“Angsting about me?” echoes Viktor, wondering why his heart suddenly feels like it’s taken up too much room in his chest. Phichit laughs.
“Yeah he couldn’t work up the courage to ask if you’d be going, yourself. You know, because he knows you don’t know sign. So…”
“I’ll try my best,” says Viktor. “And I’ll be at the dance.”
Phichit’s grin widens. “I’ll be sure to let him know!”
When the sun begins to set, Viktor heads out for the boardwalk in a button down and light trousers, and comfortable shoes for dancing.
He passes by the cafe on his way down, though, and decides to stop in for some coffee. Yuuko’s husband Takeshi is manning the counter; neither Yuuko nor Yuuri are anywhere to be seen.
But when Viktor decides to go out to the deck, he notices a familiar mop of dark curls heading up the beach with something black clutched in their arms. Yuuri is clad in his swimming trunks with a towel draped over his shoulders, and even from here Viktor can make out the planes of his stomach and the sparkle of the sunlight against the water droplets coursing down his body.
Yuuri’s feet hit the staircase of the deck, and then he freezes almost comically at the sight of Viktor, a deep crimson blush staining his cheeks and moving downwards. The black thing drops out of his hands, slipping to the floor. It’s a seal pelt.
“Did you…?” Viktor asks. Yuuri hastily shakes his head. He bends down to pick it up; Viktor is greeted with the sight of a sinfully perky ass. “I thought the beach was closed to swimmers.”
Yuuri grimaces, makes a gesture Viktor interprets as ‘long story’, and starts to mount the staircase. Viktor’s stomach drops in anticipation, as his gloriously shirtless form draws closer and closer to him.
“Are you going to the dance tonight?” he asks, stupidly, as Yuuri reaches him. The pelt sparkles in Yuuri’s grasp; the sunlight sparkles, too, in the water glistening in his hair.
Yuuri nods. Viktor steps just a little closer.
“Could we… maybe go together?” he asks, adding the sign for dance and pointing between the two of them for good measure.
Yuuri contemplates it, and then nods enthusiastically. the sealskin nearly dropping out of his hands in his eager assent. He clutches it harder then, and darts past him into the cafe. Viktor has to follow him quickly.
“I’ll wait for you, then?”
He gets a pause, a quick nod. The door swings as Yuuri vanishes behind the counter; moments later there’s the sound of water running from the back. Takeshi Nishgori chuckles at him.
“So, has Yuuri finally made a move?” he asks. Viktor blinks at him.
“Sorry, finally?” he asks.
Takeshi laughs, shakes his head. “Well, it was about time,” he says. Viktor decides that the man’s being unhelpful, and orders a latte for the night.
Yuuri comes back down just as he’s finishing up the cup, clad in a button-down with dark trousers and a set of braces, and Viktor swallows as he watches Yuuri examine his gelled-back hair in the mirror.
“Ready to go?” he asks. Yuuri nods at him, taking his arm with a small smile. Viktor feels twenty times lighter, as he tosses a wave back at Takeshi and leads Yuuri out of the cafe, towards the boardwalk.
(It takes him a stupid amount of time to realise exactly why Yuuri would be swimming with a sealskin in his hands. But when he does, he groans in realisation, and the selkie lying next to him giggles quietly before raising himself on his elbows and kissing him.
“What the fuck,” Viktor declares. “I’m so fucking blind.”
‘I think you were distracted by other things at the time,’ Yuuri points out.
“Don’t call me out like this,” Viktor whines, putting his face in his hands.
Yuuri giggles, and kisses him again. The sealskin hangs on its hook by the kitchen door, next to Makkachin’s leash and Viktor’s mackintosh.)

I got an interesting question in the comments on Ch. 38 of Magic & Ice and I ended up giving a really long HC on it. I’m posting it here just so you guys don’t have to dig for it if you want a bit more background on my HP/YOI world. Put the answer behind a cut just so you don’t have a wall of text on your TL.
Did Victor actually (legally) adopt Yurio after he found out about wizards (and the govt complained), and if so, is Yurio even aware that that happened?
In a way, yes. It’s less about physically caring for his needs and more about keeping the secret. Viktor is basically guaranteeing Yurio won’t spill the beans. If he does, Viktor has to fix it and deal with any of the consequences. It comes with some added benefits like that he can bring Yurio to magical places like Diagon Alley, he can use magic to heal Yurio’s injuries, and he can bring him along when he Apparates. It also states that Viktor, and by extension, the entire Nikiforov family, will protect Yurio (and his family, ie. Grandpa) from other wizards.
There was a lot of paperwork involved in all this. Normally when these things happen it’s because a couple is getting married, so they just add the Muggle to the Wizard’s family tree. But Yurio isn’t married to Viktor so they had to do a lot of legal legwork to get him under the ‘protection’ of the Nikiforov family. In the wizarding world Yurio’s official name is Yuri Nikolaevich Plisetsky Nikiforov. Only Yurio doesn’t know that….at least not yet. ;)
Alexei and Otabek are aware of all this since they are both members of the Nikiforov family and the entire family was informed of this, and the Nikiforov family is HUGE. Viktor’s “main” branch is quite small, but they have years and years of branch families connected to them who all are legally Nikiforovs. (Otabek’s legal name is actually Otabek Nikiforov Altin.)
Now to further complicated things….If Yuuko married Yuuri she would become Katsuki Yuuko. But she’s going to marry Takeshi, so if/when Yuuri tells them they become Nishigori Katsuki Takeshi and Nishigori Katsuki Yuuko. However, since Yuuri’s family is basically Muggle, he and Phichit might decide to take equal responsibility for them, in which case Yuuko would become Nishigori Katsuki Chulanont Yuuko and Nishigori Katsuki Chulanont Takeshi. Chulanont is a powerful name in the Asian wizarding world, so by introducing her to other wizards and stuff they’d basically be telling everyone that the Chulanonts will make your life a living hell if you mess with these Muggles or any Nishigori. They still need Yuuri to be involved because they are Japanese citizens and the Japanese Wizarding government wants a Japanese wizard keeping an eye on them. Yuuri becomes their Japanese guardian and Phichit becomes their 'protector’.
So tl;dr: For legal purposes, yes, Yurio has been adopted by Viktor. (And Yuuri /Phichit will definitely let Yuuko/Takeshi in on their secret at some point.)

Yuri on Ice Bowling!AU
(Just hear me out on this one fam, okay?)
All of the Russian skaters are on a team together.
Yuri, Victor, Mila, Greorgi and Yakov
Yakov sort of functions in a coaching capacity too.
Clearly, Victor is the best, but Yurio isn’t too bad either.
Phichit likes to take snaps of Yurio bowling strikes and the end of the lane is just an explosion.
Yurio had a cheetah/tiger print custom ball.
Victor’s is a swirly goldish pattern with a stripe like the Russian flag around it.
Mila’s ball is hot pink and says “Girl Power” on it
Yuri, Phichit, Yuuko and Takeshi are on a team too.
Minako is suppose to bowl with them and she’s surprisingly good when she does but she likes to ~socialize~
Yuuko and Takeshi bring the triplets with them all the time.
They guest bowl for Minako a lot
Somehow they’re really good???
Like, don’t even need the bumpers good???
Yuri would be better if the hot Russian guy (Victor) would stop making eyes at him when he goes to bowl.
Yuri’s ball is blue with poodles. Phichit’s is green with hamsters.
The Crispino’s are on a team with Chris and Emil.
Seung-Gil bowls with them too if he’s not busy.
Sara invited him because he looked lonely.
His ball looks like a parrot.
Emil is always trying to get Michele to watch his bowling
Michele misses basically all of Emil’s good strikes.
It’s depressing.
Emil tries not to think about it.
Sara and Mila are BFF’s and have a friendly competition going.
Guang-Hong Ji somehow got roped into being on a team with Beka, Leo, J.J. and his fiance.
He’s not complaining, he’s just happy to be with Leo.
Beka is the most respectful bowler in the rink
Doesn’t throw outright shade but homeboy will take you down with superior skill and a silent quirk of the eyebrows.
Yurio thinks he’s hot but he’ll never say it out loud.
J.J. and his fiance are always making out if they’re not bowling.
Also, J.J. likes to win her plushies from the claw machine all the time.
I mean, he’s a decent bowler, but he’s even better at the arcade games.
The Katsuki’s run the bowling alley.
Clearly.
And they have the regular bad bowling alley food but they also have a lot of good stuff.
And by good stuff, I mean katsudon.
Celestino is an avid bowling enthusiast.
The man literally just comes to watch people bowl.
Friendly with Yakov
Gives Yuri and Phichit a lot of pointers.
They’re (surprisingly?) helpful.
Minami is constantly hanging around the alley with his friends.
They wanted to make a team but missed the deadline.
They like to play all the arcade games
Minami is J.J.’s arcade rival.
Like, J.J. doesn’t know how, but Minami is crazy good at pinball.
DDR is his forte too.
J.J.’s just happy they can’t really compete at the claw machine.
J.J. has missed bowling some frames because he was playing some game with Minami.

so my anime twin sister and i were talking one time
and she managed to persuade me to write a victuuri teacher AU
i had it in my head for a looooong time and finally got to writing a bit last wednesday at work lol
then i realized i haven’t fleshed out the characters’ roles in the au so i took to writing some headcanons
have at them (this is an incomplete list, but it’s long so under the cut some of it goes)
Yuuri Katsuki (japanese)
-          The real life cinnamon roll
-          Everyone had a crush on him at one point
-          Not as straight or as innocent as the students first thought
-          the OJT for history (who victor-sensei was apparently close to) posted a photo of Yuuri-sensei pole dancing in a club
-          Yuuri remembered nothing of the ordeal
Victor Nikiforov (history)
-          His lessons are wild
-          Nobody knows how he has such wild lessons and still gets away from getting fired every damn time
-          EXTRA™
-          Shows up in the best fucking suits that are probably tailor-made or designer or some shit
-          Always manages to get his shirts or ties dirty
-          Literally he spills coffee or soup on it everyday
-          The students think it was because Yuuri-sensei is so damn distracting that he can’t help but spill his food just for Yuuri-sensei to wipe it down for him
-          (they’re absolutely right)
JJ Leroy (physical education)
-          The students take bets on who has the best biceps: Coach JJ or Officer Altin
-          Everyone thinks he and ms. Yang look really cute together
-          Holy shit the gooey looks they give each other during lunch or breaks are so fucking cute
-          They’re almost as bad as the ones victor-sensei gives Yuuri-sensei and that’s saying something
-          Sometimes posts acoustic covers of his current fave song on SNS
-          Someone found it by accident and now coach JJ is famous all over school
-          he loves isabella very very very much, and everyone knows it
Lilia Baranovskaya (math)
-          Everyone’s quiet during her lessons
-          Anyone who speaks out of turn gets an icy glare
-          Her classes have the best passing grade and percentage out of all the subjects
-          Yakov approves
-          Speaking of yakov, everyone in the faculty are taking bets as to when they’re gonna get back together
Nishigori Takeshi (home ec.)
-          Nobody expected such a buff and rambunctious dude to be good at cooking and household stuff but here he is
-          Apparently his wife recommended him for the job since now the triplets are all grown up and he has more time to kill
-          Quit his office job and offered to be a househusband when Yuuko was worried about who was going to take care of the kids when her leave was almost up
-          A Good Dad™
Leo de la iglesia (english)
-          Cinnamon roll #2
-          Very patient with the students
-          Tries his hardest to help them understand the lesson properly and offers after class sessions for those who have a tougher time in class
-          The first time this happened he had to use the gym because literally every one of his students showed up, even the ones who he knew were doing fairly well
-          The class reps help him make schedules for the tutoring sessions every week now and he is #Blessed to have them helping
Phichit chulanont (art & music)
-          Oh my god this boy is a selfie whore and everyone thinks so too
-          On the first day of art classes he announced that whoever made the nicest art would get a feature on his IG every week
-          Told everyone to add him on IG and that was when his students discovered that their teacher was apparently VERY Instagram famous
-          So now every week, some of his students get tons and tons of likes on their photos and are slowly growing famous on IG
-          Also posts videos of his music classes on the SNS that allow him to and tags the students in the videos
-          Mr. feltsman says nothing about it
Emil nekola (science)
-          Mr. sunshine literally
-          Seriously his classes are the best, even physics holy shit
-          Chemistry is by far the most amusing tho, because more often than not, emil-sensei sets something small on fire during lab days
-          Everyone loves biology too—mainly because they all get confused about all the terms and end up consulting the textbook and holding games for extra points

Chapters: 6/? Fandom: Yuri!!! on Ice (Anime) Rating: Mature Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply Relationships: Katsuki Yuuri & Victor Nikiforov, Katsuki Yuuri/Victor Nikiforov Characters: Katsuki Yuuri, Katsuki Yuuri's Family, Yuri Plisetsky, Victor Nikiforov, Celestino Cialdini, Nishigori Yuuko, Nishigori Takeshi, Makkachin (Yuri!!! on Ice), Okukawa Minako Additional Tags: Alternate Universe - Steampunk, Storytelling, stick to the script, rename the triplets, special effects FTW, there will be dirigibles, air pirate guest stars, Alternate History, Long Summary:
Alternate universe retelling of Yuri on Ice rolled back roughly 100 years, set in a steampunk world borrowed from a series of my own (Clockwork Heart). Keeping as close to the original anime storyline as possible inside the new setting, with one major alteration: instead of competing on ice, Yuuri, Victor, and the rest of the Grand Prix finalists are competing as storytellers. They have short and long programs, the same as the skating world; they have costumes and coaches, and they use the steampunk element aether to power their illusions as they weave their tales.
He smiled as he laced his fingers through Yuuri’s. “But now that’s changed, because of you. Because I’m helping you find yours.” Yuuri’s cheeks heated, but it wasn’t anything to the heat of Victor’s touch against his hand. “And that’s enough for you?  Helping me? Watching me tell my story? Not telling your own?” “I am fully content in my situation, yes,” Victor replied. “I’m glad,” Yuuri said. But as they kept walking, he couldn’t help thinking of how his dream had never been to be  coached by Victor but to compete against him. And he felt somewhat sad, acknowledging that he had undone his own dream. He also couldn’t help but notice that as they kept walking, Victor didn’t let go of his hand.
I’ve been updating this more because I’m a bit of a cat in a room full of rocking chairs ATM and writing this soothes my brain. Plus we’re getting up on some really fun stuff.

Some Yuri!!! On Ice things that, upon further reflection, I kind of love (The Ladies™ edition). (As if I’ve had literally any other editions of analysis I’ve written for this show, ever.  Which I haven’t.  Anyway, onwards!!)
This isn’t a long list (it’s barely a list at all), but I wanted to say my piece, so: Edit: The list isn’t long, but my rambling explanation of literally everything is.  Sorry. 1. All of the named, adult women have jobs. In theory, this isn’t at all radical---God knows, every adult woman I’ve ever met has had a job!  However.  I’ve been into and around anime for a good long while now, and I’ve seen employment for adult women not only be the exception to the rule, but a downright rarity.  Part of this is no doubt due to the fact that, like, 98% of anime is set in middle and/or high school, so (Japanese cultural and educational/administrative norms being what they are), teenagers of any gender just aren’t likely to hold jobs. But ask yourself this: when was the last time you saw an anime mom employed---and I mean really employed---as something other than a housewife?   That’s not to say there aren’t outliers (I think of Madoka’s mom from PMMM, or....really, literally any of the adult women from FMA(:B)).  But that’s just what they are: outliers.  And in rather outlier-type shows, to boot, now that I think of it. But for the most part?  When I watch anime, I see adult women as “the wife and/or mother”™, who stays inside The Home™, and makes dinner, and cleans stuff, and looks after the kids.  And that’s it. And that’s not to say that this is a “bad” path for a woman to take in life, because it’s not.  But in anime, once a woman reaches “a certain age,” it’s practically the only fucking thing we see. But not so for Yuri!!! on Ice.   Katsuki Hiroko?  Married, with two kids, co-owner/-manager of and independent hotel, the family business.   Her daughter, Katsuki Mari?  Full-time worker at said business (and, frankly, probably set to inherit it, what with her younger brother’s obsession with figure skating and beautiful Russian men and moving to Russia to do beautiful figure skating with beautiful Russian men); unmarried and childless, seemingly with no one even thinking of pushing to change that---because, guess what, you can be a woman and thirty and not married and not have any kids and still be fucking human. Okukawa Minako?  Pushing fifty, at least.  Unmarried, no kids.  Runs her own fucking ballet studio.  After literally a lifetime of traveling the world and winning at least one highly prestigious award (X,Y, Z) recognizing her craft.  Bonus: Implied that she still gets around plenty---at least, judging from her conversation with Yuuri in Ep. 1 (using him as a way to... “meet” fit young skaters), and her obvious and understandable physical attraction to Chis. Nishigori Yuuko?  Married, with triplets (both of which obviously happened when she was quite young).  And still working at Ice Castle Hasetsu.  I mean, the practicality makes all the sense in the world to me---even a single kid is expensive, but three, and all at the same time???  Still, a part of me can’t help but feel that, in most other anime, that practical consideration wouldn’t even be entertained, and we’d just have Yuuko at home looking after the triplets (and nothing else), while Takeshi brings home the proverbial bacon and she occasionally reminisces about figure skating.   Which, frankly, would be a disservice to her character.  Yuuko may not have gone pro---may not have had the time, or even skill, to do so, if we’re being brutally honest---but it’s clear that skating is still something she cherishes deeply, so I’m unspeakably happy that YOI let her get to stay part of that world, even if it is simply as an employee at a local ice rink. Mila Babichiva and Sara Crispino?  They’re figure skaters.  They are professional athletes.  That is literally their job. Lilia Baranovskaya?  Technically retired from her former position (as the fucking principal dancer of the Motherfucking Bolshoi Ballet!!), but it’s not like "retirement” stops her from becoming a personal trainer/choreographer/life-coach for our dear Yurio. 2.  The Ladies’ body types This is something I didn’t really appreciate, or even realize (like, at all) until I’d done a few rewatches. For the most part, every named adult woman in YOI has a distinct, recognizable body-type.  Which seems like an obvious thing to say.  But.  How many anime have I watched (how many anime has anyone watched), where “body diversity” for lady characters inevitably just boiled down to “whose boobs and/or hips are bigger”? (While still maintaining  a perfectly flat belly and slender model-thighs---y’know, naturally.) But what do we see in just the first episode of YOI?  Four very different women, with four equally different body types. There’s Minako, with her tall and (almost painfully) skinny ballet dancer’s build.  (Which is later echoed in Lilia, which I actually find rather satisfying.  Although more diverse bodies are always needed in dance---and particularly in ballet, which runs the ever-increasing risk of stagnation as the years and social mores change---it is nevertheless an art that tends to craft a certain kind of body, i.e. the tall-and-skinny type of body that both Minako and Lilia have.  Given that they were/are both ballerinas of the highest order, I find this physical resemblance between the two rather refreshing, since it seems to indicate that the people involved with the show’s creation actually knew a thing or two and actually cared about getting such things right.) Then there’s Hiroko, who is short and plump and....frankly very Mom-like in appearance, at least to me.  (Oughtta tell you something about what my family looks like, huh?)  But there’s no hiding the fact that’s she is plump.  Is fat.  She’s had two kids, and works in a hotel that specializes(?) in serving rich food (if nothing else, Yu-topia is famous for its katsudon), and probably had genetics slowing her metabolism (if Yuuri himself is any indication)---and, let’s be honest, it shows.  But---and this is the important part---absolutely nothing about any of this is demonized or made humiliating.  There’s one off-hand comment about it in the first episode, and then that’s it.  From then on, she’s just Katsuki Hiroko, loving mother and wife and generally Incredibly Good and Kind Person Who None of Us Deserve™, who just happens to be fat.  And that’s it *shrugs* Also, Katsuki Mari.  Who is honestly a little hard to pin down, body-type-wise, since we only ever see her in outfits that hide any specific traits (the Yu-topia Inn jinbei, the long coat in Barcelona).  Still, I think it’s a fair assumption to say that she is a more robust figure than Minako, but also more slender than her mother.  In short, an exceptionally average build. Then, Yuuko.  Who, I think, has the most stereotypically “anime” body of any of the adult women characters.  Voluptuous, but flat in the belly and not too fat around the thighs (despite having carried and borne triplets---damn).  As Yuuri says, she’s (still) “very cute” in her mid-20s, which would annoy me more if it weren’t for a) the three aforementioned ladies, and their character designs, that were already introduced beforehand; and, b) the fact that Yuuko’s entire introduction is just one big trolling moment by the showmakers to basically....well, straight-bait the audience.  And it was glorious. (Guess what audience?  Adult ladies and menfolk can actually be just friends!  With no romantic tension!!  And be perfectly happy with it because even though feelings miiiiiiiiight have been confused a bit when they were teenagers eventually they grow out of it and move on and still stay really good friends because life is just mundanely beautiful like that sometimes!!!) Later on in the show, the pattern is somewhat broken by the character designs of Mila and Sara (both of whom are quite anatomically similar) but, honestly, that does’t bother me much---to me, it’s the same sort of thing as with Minako and Lilia: a certain profession tending to craft a certain body type, like how American football players tend to be both tall and heavily muscled, or how basketball players tend to be very tall and relatively lean, to name some examples off the top of my head.  Not necessarily a rule, but certainly the norm.

fic for victuuri week day one!
Title: i have a confession to make Rating: Teen.
Wordcount: 1.6k Summary:
“Yuuri,” Victor asks, his voice suspiciously cheerful. “What’s this?”
Victor is holding a poster. Not just a poster, though. The poster. The 2013 Victor Nikiforov doing a swimsuit spread for Vogue poster that he hunted for for endless months. Although he knows it’s pointless, Yuuri racks his brain for any, any possible way to explain himself that doesn’t include the sentence: “I was obsessed with you and I maybe jerked off to you when I was 15 once or ten times.”
Link to A03: here
Yuuri’s pretty sure that Victor, being one of the best figure skaters alive, is aware that most of the community, including Yuuri, worships the ground he steps on.
He’s just, um, he’s just not sure Victor knows just how much Yuuri adores him.
It starts one day, when Yuuri least expects it.
Victor asked him to go live in St. Petersburg with him a few days ago, still high from the silver medal, and he accepted without thinking, using the time they could’ve used to plan to instead make out as much as possible.
But moving from one country to another, moving to a new house, means packing. It means many boxes, personal effects, and more not fun stuff. So they fly to Japan once more, both of them, despite the fact that Yuuri tries to get Victor to leave for Russia directly (“I’m not leaving my fiancé for one second, now that I have him.” “...Alright.”), and start preparations.
First comes the announcing the arrangement to his family and friends here in Hasetsu. It’s hard, even though Yuuri feels a little embarrassed to admit it. He’s already 24, but he’s spent the last few years either away in Detroit or spending most of his time training, and leaving once more makes his throat close up. His parents look a little misty-eyed when he tells them, but congratulate him and Victor on their engagement, hugging them enthusiastically and yapping away about wedding preparations and what-not, to Yuuri’s horror. They just got engaged, do they have to talk about the wedding yet? Don’t they get time to… rest?
Yuuko and Takeshi get slightly more emotional (“My little Yuuri is getting married!” “Yuuko, you’re not that much older than me!” “Stop making your mother cry, Yuuri.”), and the triplets exhort an oath from Victor in which he vows to send them exclusive pictures of them in their day-to-day lives so they can post it on their Instagram. Yuuri chooses to ignore it.
The point is, that mostly goes over well. After the cheesy bits, Yuuri requests a permit so that Russia isn’t able to kick him out until he’s allowed citizenship, gets his papers ready, and finally feels like he’s really, really doing this. And that means that they have to start getting his stuff into suitcases, even if it’s just enough clothes to survive until he starts buying his own stuff in Russia.
Yuuri, innocent, forgetful Yuuri, thinks, Well, two people pack faster than one, right? and I can totally give kisses in exchange for making him lift heavy stuff, and asks Victor for some help taking care of the stuff in his room.
Which is what brings them to the current situation:
“Yuuri,” Victor asks, his voice suspiciously cheerful. “What’s this?”
“What’s wh-?” He turns.
Victor is holding a poster. Not just a poster, though. The poster. The 2013 Victor Nikiforov doing a swimsuit spread for Vogue poster that he hunted for for endless months.
“You weren’t supposed to find that,” Yuuri says. His voice sounds very far away.
“Oh yeah,” Victor continues, smirking. “It was in a glass box. As if to be displayed. I figured it was very important to you.”
He reaches down, picking up a cardboard box. Yuuri is too stunned to move, despite the fact that he knows this is about to get worse. Much, much worse. “But not as important as the framed picture of me you have in your night table drawer. Or the life-sized poster you have of me in my grand prix outfit from two years ago.” He winks, “That one’s a signed copy.”
Although he knows it’s pointless, Yuuri racks his brain for any, any possible way to explain himself that doesn’t include the sentence: “I was obsessed with you and I maybe jerked off to you when I was 15 once or ten times.”
“...I have a confession to make,” Yuuri whimpers, not meeting Victor’s eyes.
“There’s one thing I don’t quite get,” Victor holds up a long white plastic bag marked in black marker. There are two words in English written on the front: VICTOR COSPLAY. “What’s this?”
Yeah, Yuuri’s deleting his Tumblr account.
“Oh, wow. My 2008 costume covered much more skin, Yuuri, you know.” He pauses. “Actually, I’m having a small problem, would you mind trying it on for me and refreshing my memory?”
The next level of complete and utter humiliation happens another day into their meticulous packing, after Yuuri has banned Victor to the couch indefinitely, to his parents’ worried concern (“Are things okay between you two, baby? You just got engaged…”), and it happens the second that Victor finds his short skate undies.
His short skate undies are, by the way, his custom-fitted, commissioned baby blue briefs with the front and back of Victor’s head on each side, and a cute speech bubble that says, “Hit some quads in bed for me?”
Yuuri throws Victor’s make-up set out the window in retaliation for the ten minutes he spends laughing, calming down, looking back at the briefs, and starting to laugh all over again.
Two days later, Yuuri opens his bedroom door to find Victor standing on the corridor proudly, hands on his hips in a Superman pose, wearing nothing but briefs with a picture of Yuuri’s face stapled to the front.
Yuuri begrudgingly removes the bed ban.
“You named… you named your dog after me?” Victor’s smirking now. “That’s...kinky.”
“I was ten, Victor,” Yuuri swats at him with his passport, glaring. “You can let the teasing go now.”
For a few minutes, Victor does, holding his hands up in surrender and leaning against Yuuri to press a kiss on his forehead, rubbing his cheeks with his thumbs, “Alright, alright. I just think it’s cute. Am I allowed to just ask things if I don’t make fun? I always want to know more about young Yuuri Katsuki.”
Yuuri grumbles, tilting his head up to receive more kisses as an apology.
“... Did you dress the dog up in my outfits, though? Because otherwise I think it’s a missed opportuni - “
“Stop.”
“Yuuri, why does your mother know my favourite song and my grandfather’s last name?”
“...There was a competition on Victor Nikiforov trivia, okay? I had to practice!”
Victor smiles, “What was the prize?”
He sighs in defeat, “A ticket to one of your exhibitions.”
His fiancé lifts him up in a hug, squeezing him tight and pressing their cheeks together, “I can’t believe you’re this precious.”
“Um, Yuuri, why did your sweet old neighbour tell me she’s glad that ‘I finally came to see my husband, after being so long overseas’?”
“You know,” Victor starts the day before they have to leave for St. Petersburg, with all their bags prepared. “I was wondering if…” He hesitates, biting his lower lip.
“What?” Yuuri hums from his place on the armchair, his fingers threading through Makkacchin’s fur softly. It’s been a hectic couple of days, especially with trying to put his skating gear in his checked baggage in a way that doesn’t scream ‘terrorist’ when he has more blades inside there than any respected butcher would own.
“Well, you seem to have admired me quite a lot,” Victor touches the top of his hand gently, as if to remind him that he doesn’t mind. “I just… Did I do it?”
He frowns, “Did what?”
“Meet young Yuuri’s expectations,” Victor shrugs self-deprecatingly, a small, unsure smile on his lips, the type of one Yuuri’s never seen before. “I understand that my real self is less… glamorous and fun than what the magazines make it seem, and I’ve, uh, gotten older, so my body isn’t what it used to be before I did five quads in a program.”
For a moment, Yuuri is absolutely and completely shocked into silence.
He’s sparked into action pretty soon by the vulnerability in Victor, though, standing up from the armchair and moving until he’s sitting on the couch beside his fiancé (mentally apologizing to the poodle for ceasing the petting session), swiftly catching his hands.
“Victor,” Yuuri says, firm. “Look at me.”
Hesitantly, Victor does.
“I was a huge Victor Nikiforov fanboy, alright?” his cheeks redden, but he carries on. “I was a total stalker, and you were my idol, I’m not denying that. I’m not even denying that you might have played a small, insignificant role in my sexual awakening.”
That makes the edges of Victor’s lips twitch, just slightly.
“But that means that I was also terrified of you,” he confesses, rubbing his thumb over Victor’s wrist reassuringly, meeting his eyes again. “You were a big celebrity who charmed the pants off cameramen and who ate Grand Prix for breakfast. I couldn’t even ask you for a picture when we first met!”
“You had no problem asking me for more when you were drunk,” Victor adds, because he’s still bitter about the fact that Yuuri doesn’t remember that.
He holds up a warning finger, “We’re not discussing the banquet. What I mean is, I was really shy before I got to know you, remember?” He smiles a little, when he thinks about the first few months Victor spent at the onsen, wandering around in a lazily tied yukata and drinking his way around Hasetsu’s most touristic spots. “I only managed to actually stand close to you once I was comfortable around you, once I knew you.” He hits him on the forearm lightly, almost a little bit offended, “I fell in love with you, Victor, not my teenage wanking folder.”
“Wanking folder?” Victor just can’t let it go, can’t he?
“Oh, shut up,” he hisses. “I can’t have one conversation without - hmph!”
And well. Yuuri can take kissing on the couch.
Yuuri’s favourite thing about living with Victor in St. Petersburg in their cozy, warm flat filled with big rugs, is that whenever Yuri comes into the place and sees the two matching walls with Yuuri and Victor memorabilia, he turns a rather entertaining shade of green.

hey!! so a lot of you were asking about the day and night universe and how stuff works there and i tried to think of something less half-assed and seriously thought this through. and i would like to warn you if you were expecting some kind of science related explanation or something cries i deeply apologize
Sky Court:
so let’s start with the sky court, which is an idea left by @artristica and i liked it a lot
Tumblr media
The sky court is in between the sun realm and the moon realm and this is where the kings and the members of their council set day or night in motion. They can get there by flying chariots and only flying chariots because magic!!
The Kingdoms??
The kingdom of Day is bathed in sunlight because this is where the sun rests and gets polished. Now what I imagine for viktor’s kingdom is life growing everywhere!! Plants, flowers, animals he takes from the human realm, they are just everywhere hahaha. His kingdom is also a solace for magical creatures.
The kingdom of night is covered in soft light because the moon is characteristically demure. Of course in yuuri’s kingdom, it’s always the night time and what I imagine is waves of an ocean filled with dreams. Soft and cool breezes and overall it’s solemn and so peaceful. You can also find nocturnal animals if you try hard enough lol
i don’t really want to give specifics because i don’t want to limit how you perceive them and for me their kingdoms are just basically like bedrooms or a resting house or something?? a place where they dwell when their time in the sky court is over. but if you really want, you can check out @exile-wrath‘s fic of dusk and dawn and a love beyond the way the writer wrote the kingdoms is very very close to what i have envisioned
The King of Day and The King of Night’s Roles:
The kings are the only ones who can command the sun and the moon to rise and set. They are the only beings, entities, who could do so. And that’s basically all that they do and they sit at the highest throne in the court and oversee whatever’s going on.
Now, knowing that commanding the sun and moon to rise and set is basically all that they need to do, the king of day and the king of night can leave the court whenever they please
But they don’t??
Viktor stays in the court to look at the human realm and watch whatever he finds interesting there hahaha also!! He loves painting the sky with his clouds especially when day almost turns to dusk.
Yuuri stays to watch over his council members and to check if the constellations are exactly the way they should be to guide lost travelers back home
How Does Viktor Leave the Roses?
In regards to viktor leaving the roses for yuuri, he always leaves them on the throne before he hands over the court to the night. And when yuuri returns the rose to the king of day, he leaves the rose on the throne of the court too.
Is There anything Else I Need to Know??
yes!! these are just some random facts i thought of when i started this au:
when the time comes and yuuri visits viktor’s realm, the light of the sun would be too much for him so he has phichit hold an umbrella for him or he would wear a veil or something like that
viktor got the idea of giving red roses to yuuri from a couple he saw from the human realm
King of night’s council:
Phichit (Dusk, the viceroy), Minako (the king’s advisor), Otabek (royal guard), yuuko and Takeshi (the ones who hang the stars into constellations?? idk what to call them hahaha)
King of day’s council:
Yuri (Dawn, the viceroy), Yakov (the king’s advisor), Georgi and Mila (royal guards)
and that is all!!! if you have any questions or if i didn’t make any sense at all regarding anything i have written down please feel free to drop by my ask box when i get around to opening it haha

Reactions to some Yuri On Ice stuff that’s been going around in fandom, including me kind of criticizing some tendencies of the fandom at large, under a cut because normally I would not post this publicly but after the week I’ve had I’m feeling less inclined to care about offending people who’d probably never read this post anyway.
So people are upset because Yuuri not going to college in Detroit for more than a year means he may have only known Phichit for only one year, and this is .... new information????? >__O Guys. Guys. Let’s say Yuuri and Phichit both moved to Detroit for college. No idea why they would, when the only draw for them is Celestino as a coach, but let’s pretend.
Yuuri, at the start of the anime, is 23, having spent an extra year to finish college. He turns 24 is episode 9. His birthday is November 29th.
Phichit, at the start of the anime, is 20, and is currently 21 according to the wiki. His birthday is April 20th.
The normal age to go to college in the US is 18 going on 19. Classes start Septemberish and  go to June-ish. (Yuuri, however, is done with school before April, which implies he’s on the Japanese school schedule of April to March. This also fits the 5-years-at-college timeline, because with Yuuri’s age and when he finishes, that implies being in a US school for over five years.)
If Phichit is 20 going on 21, he would have spent a maximum of three years at the college. This is dependent on a few things, though - 1) is the Wiki saying he is 21 as of the end of the current competitive season in YOI OR 2) did he turn 21 near episode 1, which is said to be in April? Seeing as the information from the anime saying he’s 20 takes place after April, I’m assuming that he turned 20 around episode 1. That means he had two years, max, with Yuuri - less, considering Yuuri was home in Hasetsu by April of the second year.
Which means that people are sad that less than a year was shaved off the time they could have known each other.
Guys - even before the whole “Yuuri didn’t go to college in Detroit for more than a year” thing - Phichit and Yuuri haven’t known each other that long. It’s one of the things that annoys me about fanfic portrayals of their relationship. Yes, Yuuri thinks of Phichit as the only other international skater he’s friends with, yes, Phichit refers to Yuuri as his best friend, but when you want a long-term friendship of Yuuri’s, the friend who has been there through it all, the one who canonically knew about Yuuri’s crush on Viktor (because fun fact, while Phichit may know about it the anime doesn’t tell us he does) - we have that friend! In canon! She exists!
(Or is that the problem? That Nishigori Yuuko is a she? Because Nishigori Takeshi also is Yuuri’s childhood friend, and we canonically see Yuuri confide in him more than he does in Phichit! Oh wait, I forgot - Nishigori is fat and very much not the bishounen that Phichit is. I’d like to think people are better than that, but I’ve also been in internet fandoms long enough to be very cynical.)
I’m just tired of people hyping up Phichit, making fanon!Phichit out to be a better friend than we’ve seen canon!Phichit be, all while ignoring the Nishigori family, who in my opinion have a lot more canon evidence for being better friends to Yuuri than Phichit.
I know, controversial words in the YOI fandom, but here’s the facts: Phichit is a social media junkie who cannot resist posting photos online, even if it might make Yuuri uncomfortable. He does it in the anime, with drunken Viktor all over Yuuri, and he does it in Yuuri On Stage, apparently leaking that Viktor is missing and causing an uproar among the fans who came to see him skate. And Yuuri is used to this, to the point where when people are wondering how it got out, Yuuri’s near-immediate response to finding out it leaked was “PHICHIT-KUN.”
Compare to the Nishigori family in a similar situation. Yuuko and Takeshi find out the twins uploaded the video. Takeshi immediately calls Yuuri to apologize, while Yuuko lectures her children for doing so. They show a hell of a lot more respect for Yuuri’s privacy in episode 1 than Phichit does in all of canon.
We don’t see Yuuri confide in Phichit ever in canon. We see him geeking out over Viktor with Yuuko when they are kids, and he even talks about his feelings with her a bit when he shows her Viktor’s program. We see him complaining about Eros to Takeshi and having Takeshi be his exercise buddy. However, during his freakout at the Cup of China he doesn’t even think to talk to Phichit about it, and Phichit doesn’t approach him about it either. He doesn’t even call Phichit to just chat - he literally calls to ask for a favor, and while they’re definitely happy to be talking to each other, they didn’t call each other just to say hi.
Still don’t believe me? The honorifics Yuuri uses to refer to them also back me up on this. The honorific -kun is more formal/distant than the lack of honorifics he uses for Nishigori or the -chan he uses for Yuuko. Native speakers can get into this in a lot more depth than I can, but -kun is used for classmates, peers, or people younger than you, and adds an element of formality. According to the anime/manga I’m familiar with and the Japanese friend I asked about honorifics, the less honorifics you use the closer you seem to a person. It’s also worth noting that the Nishigori family feels close enough to Yuuri to refer to him without honorifics, despite them presumably speaking Japanese to him (unlike the international skaters, who I assume speak English with him.) It’s kind of cool that Yuuri does refer to Phichit with an honorific, as it implies they speak each others’ languages to each other to some extent, but the fact that Phichit is “Phichit-kun” to Yuuri does imply that they aren’t as close as fandom would like to believe.
And it’s just ... I get sick of people putting Phichit up on this pedestal while simultaneously forgetting the Nishigori family. While where Yuuri studied is an interesting tidbit, the fact people are getting upset because it lessens his relationship with Phichit really aggravates me.
If I had the gif-making skills, I’d be posting gifs of the Nishigori family being awesome instead of this rant, but sadly while I know gif-making basics I don’t have a good way of going through an episode frame by frame to get the stuff I need to gif a scene. Ergo, my rant which may offend YOI fans if they see it. =/

Hello!! Saw your recent Buzzfeed Unsolved reblogs which were A+++!! Do you have any thoughts on how an AU of that would go down with YOI??
omg i’ve been tossing some ideas around in my head, so
“Hey there ghosts, it’s me. Ya boy.”
“Oh my god.” Yuuri Katsuki resists the urge to facepalm as he levels a glare at his best friend Phichit Chulanont. “You can’t just do that.”
“I can, and I did.” Phichit shines a flashlight at the graffitied barriers in front of the old Chusetsu tunnel. “You say this is supposed to be one of the most haunted spots in Fukuoka?”
“I also said I’d never set foot in this dumb tunnel again, and yet here we are.” Yuuri sighs, closing his eyes against the familiar sense of foreboding.
Phichit laughs, turning to look into the camera that Yuuri’s holding. “Oh yeah, you should tell YouTube about what happened last time you were here.”
“I was seventeen,” Yuuri begins, and Phichit nods, pushing past the barrier as he does so. Yuuri follows suit, hating how the hair at his nape seems incapable of settling down as they head into the old concrete tunnel. “Yuuko and Takeshi and I were in Fukuoka for the night because of some paperwork stuff I had to do in order to study in the US. So they dared me to walk through the tunnel with them. I ran through it as fast as I could because halfway through I heard voices telling me to not go any farther.”
Phichit laughs. “And those voices weren’t, I dunno, Yuuko and Takeshi’s?”
“No, it was very different from their voices.” Yuuri fiddles with the ghost box, tuning it to the right frequency. “This tunnel is supposed to be the site of several murders, so it’s haunted by all the ghosts of the victims, and probably other vengeful spirits who want to add to the collection of ghosts.”
“What, like how normal, not-ghost people collect stamps and baseball cards?”
“Yeah, I guess,” Yuuri shrugs. Phichit chuckles, as the last of the light from the street behind them fades into the dark gloom of the tunnel. “I hope Minami’s waiting for us on the other end so we can get out of here asap. I already regret stepping back into this tunnel.”
“Hey, ghosts, Yuuri’s back. Do you remember him? He was a bit of a pipsqueak back then. He’s gotten much more swole since then –”
“Shut up, Phichit!” Yuuri exclaims.

Hey!! I've been thinking of drawing of a YOI and FE crossover where the yoi characters are put into fire emblem classes. But I'm not sure who would fit into what class. Do you have any suggestions? (Love your art btw!!)
OMFG YES MY FAVORITE AU
FIRE EMBLEM AU
BOI I AM HERE FOR FIRE EMBLEM AU’S ALL DAY EVERY DAY
also I’m not sure if u mean Awakening classes or Fates classes, so I’mma just draw from both
but starting with Phichit (bc i love him so much. so so so much) I think he’d fit into the trickster (fe13) class pr well because even tho it’s Scientifically Proven that he is the biggest cinnamon roll ever who loves hamsters, i feel like he has a little bit of a mischievous side (and also Anna’s camera tome in the hot spring scramble dlc in Awakening lmao)
Yuri, as much as I’d love for him to be a fluffy kitsune, i feel like he’s more geared towards the Lord (fe13) class because then that gives for a more interesting narrative of him trying to surpass Viktor, who would then be a Great Lord. (fe13)
Yuuri would be a bride class maybe a Villager (fe13/14), because even though they start out pretty weak, they have some of the highest stat growth and ability to become the most powerful unit (and also reclass into almost anything), and because becoming so powerful usually requires a lot of support from other units, it fits Yuuri’s story the most imo. He’d probably reclass to an Onmyoji (fe14), but his eros routine makes me think possibly Sniper (fe13/14)?
(lmao its like chrom marrying random villager woman except not really)
Georgi is a Sorcerer (fe13) bc 3edgy5me also the awakening designs for sorcerer are ridiculous i love it
Minami is just a tiny ball of energy with a snaggle tooth, so definitely Kitsune (fe14) class, I think (and he’s a smol so it’d still take time for him to become a Nine-tails)
Otabek imo is a Great Knight (fe13/14) sorta person, bc he seems super loyal and Strong and gotta protect the Yurio
Christoff is kind of difficult bc his characterization is sort of... mysterious? but i would pin him as a Warrior (fe13) mostly bc the armor is basically... a glorified thong
Seung-gil’s character isn’t really elaborated on too much so it’s sort of hard to tell, but the whole “serious man of few words” makes me think of Lon’qu, so myrmidion/swordmaster (fe13) perhaps?
Guang-hong is adorable around 90% of the time and manly for around 10% of the time, but also a smol with a lot of room to grow so maybe Herb Merchant (fe14) or Monk (fe14)
Leo is maybe a Mercenary (fe13) ? Who soon promotes to Hero (fe13).
Michele is.... ??? I would say a War Monk (fe13) bc his motives are to hack down whoever might hurt Sara but also be able to heal Sara bc he’s a sister-obsessed idiot
Emil just strikes me as a cavalier (fe13/14). He’d look cool on a horse I think
Mila seems fierce af. I’d pin her as a Wyvern rider/wyvern lord (fe 13/14)
JJ is............ a vanguard (fe14 dlc) ........??? squints i guess capes and swords n stuff. his girlfriend/fiance Isabella could be a mage or smth? not much is known about her to really say
Sara wants to be a bride class one day bc the dresses are pretty and Michele adamantly does not want her to be a maid or a dancer so I’d say that she’s a pegasus knight
Yuuko (i guess i’m going into particularly minor characters now) is probably a shrine maiden (fe14) while Takeshi is an oni savage (fe14). their daughters are just... too small to be fighting. Minako is one of the crassest Dancers (fe13) to ever have existed, and Mari, like her brother, is a Villager (fe13/14) and doesn’t intend to reclass.
Yakov was formerly a Warrior (fe13) while Lilia used to be a Dancer (fe13). Celestino is... a Berserker (fe14)??
i hope that sorta helped?? if u ever wanna talk fire emblem AU feel free to message me lol
please show me when u draw the thing omfg i love fire emblem AUs (hell im tempted to draw them now)
and thank you aslkdjlaksjd aaaaa ;O;

In an enchanted world of spells and spirits, Katsuki Yuri stands alone. Though he is immune to curses and charms, he is also unable to work even the most elementary magic. Despite this unfortunate circumstance, he has served honorably as his village’s Guardian against encroaching malevolent spirits, the yokai. Then one day the famous wizard Victor Nikiforov arrives in Hasetsu, and takes it upon himself to convince Yuri that there’s a little bit of magic in all of us.
