I think it'd be funny if the new Pristine Cut gallery included the number/percentage of lines of dialogue seen.
It’d probably be too immersion-breaking to work as a serious idea, but just imagine beating the game for the first time, going to the gallery and seeing you've seen like 5% of the total dialogue in the game. Jaw drop moment
#og post#stp#tpc#slay the princess#the pristine cut#the real issue is that it'd make people try to see 100% of the lines which would be. an ordeal#bc aside from all the branching paths & optional dialogue & different voice combos#there's also so many subtle dialogue changes depending on the most seemingly inconsequential choices#the first one i remember noticing was skeptic's line in prisoner as you go down the stairs#usually he wonders if she remembers us#but sometimes he instead wonders what visitors she could referring to#i remember seeing the alternate line and doing a double take lol#i haven't looked at the code or anything but i'm pretty sure it's based on if you’d verbally acknowledged that you'd been there before#it's the sort of thing that 95% of players wouldn't consider especially if they're just trying to get to the cabin as quickly as possible#but like. if you hadn't said anything before it wouldn't make sense for skeptic to reveal that you'd been there before in a throwaway line#he's too clever for that#especially if he's thinking similarly to prisoner who tries not to ''give away the game'' by acknowledging the last chapter#so like. absolutely incredible attention to detail and responsiveness to player choices#but also a hypothetical dialogue completionist's nightmare haha
