I'm going to be quiet for about the next day or so. I've been writing up a bio for a muse on another blog for about a year now. Unfortunately, it became too long-winded and I put it aside with the intention of writing a shorter version and using the longer one for a fanfic project...

The shorter one is still really long for a bio for a muse in a fairly dead fandom.

SO...I never meant to delay this for so long, I’m so sorry for this, but I’m excited to rejuvenate this page -- I’m quite bad with tumblr, but I just hit 350 followers and I figured I’d put in a second dime for trying to make this little account work. People seem to like my little writings (which surprises me tbh, but I appreciate the love) and I’ve gotten a lot of questions about requests, so here’s the masterpost of all that for here!

PLEASE NOTE: I don’t use Tumblr too regularly, I’m trying to be more active but because of life & stuff, I’m not always active to write. Plus, just because you request something, doesn’t mean I will automatically be able to give that! It takes time, inspiration, and often the ability to form a sentence, which weirdly I struggle with. Way too often.

WHO I WRITE FOR...most people look at this acc for tua writings, which i’ve got an abundance of! I’m quite fine with any requests of any characters, except for five (unless like it’s some aged up version of him; I don’t feel comfy writing about him and I just don’t care to). I also will write for a lot of other fandoms if you ask for them: those including marvel, stranger things (those of age, i’m not writing stories about minors), harry potter and a couple others. Just ask me, I’ll let you know if I write for the fandom & we can move from there, darling. :)

HOW TO REQUEST...I prefer not too many details in a request, just so I still feel inspired to write the piece. So, if you’re asking based on a prompt below, tell me the number(s), the character you’re looking for, and any details you feel necessary to add! Remember, nothing too specific, like don’t give me the entire plot but things like genre, atmosphere, details on the reader are okay. I usually write either genderless or female reader (I try to stick with the former to be accommodating) but you can ask for a specifically gender-neutral or female/male reader too. This also applies to fics you want garnered to a specific section of the LGBTQIA+ community (for example, if you wanted a lesbian reader with Vanya Hargreeves). I try not to add any details to appearance to the story so that everyone can enjoy the fic, but again you can ask for any specific and I will try my best to accomodate for you lovelies.

(Bodyguard AU) Person A always knew that Person C was rich, but never rich enough to need a legit bodyguard. But when C’s father’s company is threatened, they call in the big dogs -- and they’re cute, too. Aka...A makes a point to catch the attention of Person B at any time possible, much to their upset. 46. (University AU) Person A needs a model. Person B needs a way to occupy their afternoon. Thus, a deal is struck. 47. Person A is a private detective hired to work the case on a mysterious murder (that strangely, Person C doesn’t want getting out). Person B is C’s lead suspect, but A can’t help but feel like they’re not the real culprit... 48. Person A drags Person B along onto a roadtrip across the country to go visit their oddball grandparents. But things go south quickly. 49. Person A gets robbed, and has no one to call when they can’t shake the nightmares but Person B. 50. Person A can manipulate time, but only by an hour. Person B doesn’t know this, but gets suspicious when they see A do something very, very weird... (you can supply more details for this one) 51. (Neighbours AU) Person A and B have the thinnest walls ever, which would suck, but they both oddly have the exact same taste in music. It’s nice; if only they got to meet. 52. (Store AU) Person A and B get locked into their work’s freezer for the night. 53. (Coffee Shop AU) Person B has never met Person A; they always miss them by only a minute. They do, however, manage to sit at the exact same table every day and pick up the piece of art they leave for the next customer. 54. Person A has loved Person B their entire life. Too bad they’ll never get to tell them. 55. (Diner AU) Person A meets Person B at three in the morning when they stumble in soaked. They’re surprised, when they show up again...and again...at the exact same time. 56. (5+1) Five times Person A told Person B they loved them, and the one time Person B finally said it back. 57. i saw your post about cephalopod eating+breathing and like. how do they sing. how do they even SPEAK. if their mouth isn't connected to their lungs. how do mouths even work aaaa

SO YOU SEE this is a very good question that has reopened the gates of Interspecies Communication Hell that I have briefly made note of before and then promptly forgot. More on that in a second

Ok, in regards to Squid Vocalizations. So in humans, we vocalize by pushing air out through the larynx and modifying the airflow there to make different sounds + produce like, consonants n stuff with our lips and tongue. Obviously if I am to do This configuration of inkfish breathing

Then we can’t rely on the presence of a larynx to have them make sounds. I think maybe having them develop a similar structure in their actual Breathin Tubes could be a valid way to go as we know they do vocalize, but in that case I think the mouth is probably not going to be involved in the sound making process. A fun side effect of that could be that they might be able to speak while eating lol. Anyways, without involvement from the tongue and lips they probably can’t produce consonants, or at least ones similar to human speech. Which is fine! We know they don’t make the same sounds as we do. They don’t speak languages that sound like ours. 

Some hyper tentative Sugestions on how larynx 2 might develop in a squib with the above breathing/ink expulsion system: 

seeing as one of the functions of the larynx is to keep food and other foreign objects out of the airway, perhaps a similar structure evolved in the outtake tube to prevent ink from accidentally going back down and into the airway (larynx2 functions by exhaling air through it, voice might come out from behind?? that’s weird and perhaps not ideal)

develop larynx2 in the intake tube to. prevent breathing in foreign objects? maybe this structure works by inhaling air through it?? gonna be honest with you idk too much about this version like in general but it would... probably... allow the voice to be projected out of the front of the face which is much more convenient

Anyways whatever they’ve got going on they definitely do not sound like humans, which is supported in canon. In fact, none of the splat species would sound much like humans at all. A lot of them wouldn’t sound much like each other, because these wildly different species would need to evolve different methods for Makin Sounds and different methods for communication. Some Communication/Language Stuff I’ve vaguely thought about:

Inkfish (squids and octos, which in the Splat Bio au includes cuttlefish and flapjack octos as subspecies respectively): language centers around a combination of vocalizations, color displays, and some physical gestures. Octos on average tend to have a slightly lower vocal range than squids, but the two species can pretty much make similar enough sounds that anatomy would not hinder communication at all.

Sea Slugs: language centers around vocalization, gestures and pheromones to a lesser degree. As a Fellowe Mollusk I would like for them to have a relatively similar range of vocalizations to Inkfish, and so have the two groups to be able to communicate with each other fairly easily. Not the same, but Close Enough, you feel

Arthropods: Fun fact did you know horseshoe crabs are arachnids. They finally figured it out this year in February I think, though for the AU I might just lump the horseshoe men with the crustaceans. Anyways, language centers around stridulation and gestures. Lots of creaking and chirping and clicking and claw waving from these boys. Dont ask me which body parts they use for this as the splat arthropod anatomy is a complete enigma to me At The Moment. Non-arthropods might be able to approximate some of the sounds with... Tools... But they probably have more trouble communicating smoothly with other species. It’s a bit easier now with electronic sounds but it’s still an extra step right there. 

Fish: they get to have a larynx congrats. Language centers heavily around vocalization, with a bit of gesturing involved. They can actually use their mouth bits to create more... precise? Sounds than mollusks. They can approximate most mollusk noises, so they can learn to speak (the vocal + gesture parts of) mollusk languages, though with a fish “accent”. I think it’d be neat if they had some limited stridulation ability like catfish do but I don’t think it’d be enough to fully imitate the arthropods. Other species probably can’t imitate the full range of fish vocalizations though. 

Species not listed here I have not given much thought to yet because I don’t know what’s happening with them in general (ex: URCHINS, SEA ANEMONES). And then I don’t think Jellyfish make any sounds at all they just. Do their own littol thing

As for how these wildly different species manage to communicate. I think they’ve got a lot of pidgin languages to bridge the gaps between various species’ communication abilities, some of which have probably developed into a creole in areas with a long history of having multiple species living together. The arthropods probably have historically been the most difficult to include in these things but people always find ways. It might just be more common for arthropod-inclusive languages to have a simplified set of arthropod clickins unique to it that others interpret as an alternative to vocal components other species use? Also probably like Tools to approximate simplified arthropod clickins. I dunno but! A place like Inkopolis definitely looks like one of the areas with a fairly inclusive pidgin or even a creole and everyone who actually lives there can usually communicate just fine. I dunno if Inkfish that live away from the city have to learn this secondarily or if most of the country uses these things. Probably depends on how much of other species live in ur local area.

How do you get inspiration?I’ve actually been struggling with this a lot lately. Usually it’s music,books, games, shows, or movies that give me inspiration to write. Though, mostcommonly, my inspiration to CONTINUE threads comes from the people I write with.If they seem actually interested in the thread (it doesn’t matter how longreplies take, I just mean the writing. Sometimes you can tell through how theyreply whether they’re interested or not) then that gives me more reason to wantto reply to it :)

Is there a muse that youconsistently have the muse for?Sooyeon on my other account is the one muse that I ALWAYS have muse for. I think it’s because she’s been a muse of mine since even before I moved over to tumblr rp, so I have a ton of history with her.Over here, it fluctuates a lot more, mostly dependent on things I mentionedabove. Yongsun is my most consistent muse with Wheein being a closesecond. Then probably Hyuna and Hyuk? Usually my female muses are my strongest ones,honestly. Lately I’ve had a ton of muse for Sarah. When I have musefor my boys, though, the strongest ones tend to be Seunghyun, Hyuk, and Jaewon. I think that Jaewonand Hyuk have similar personalities in some ways, so when I have high muse forHyuk I tend to have high muse for Jaewon, as well.Also, I ALWAYS have a ton of muse for most of my secondaries. I’m alwayswatching, reading, or playing stuff related to Star Wars so those are mystrongest muses, closely followed by my muses for Jack and Nisha (I literally play Borderlands all the time, and TPS is my favorite of the three). I’ve beenDYING for another thread with Jack, one where I can show off the complexity ofhim. Jack is technically the “bad guy” ofBorderlands 2, but he doesn’t see himself that way... he honestly believeshimself to be a hero even if his methods of achieving peace are a little harsh. He kind of thinks of it like it’s “for the greater good”. I would love to explore that more and have a chance towrite about it. Atton is such a complex character, too. He’s one of the biggest reasons that I’ve replayed KotOR2 so many times. And, like, I would even be okay with writing him in a normal verse as opposed to a Star Wars one because I just love him that much.The one muse of my secondary muses that I have a hard time with is my maleRevan. People expect me to water him down so he’ll be easy/fun to write with orthey want to write with him because he’s a Jaejoong face claim and they haven’tread his bio, but he’s actually incredibly difficult to write as or with. Andromantic threads are an absolute no-go. If he’s intimate in that way withanyone, it’s purely for power, not for love. So while I think he’s super interesting and I’d love to write him in some very serious threads, I think he’s the kind of muse that people have to be careful of ^^;

Take the opportunity to write a short ramble/drabble aboutsomething you want to write about. Can I ramble about more than one? I’ve been desperate to write almost anything on my Wanted Plots list, honestly. Something based a little bitaround Princess Yue from A;TLA. Hogwarts AUs. Star Wars AUs are (obviously) myfavorite and I’d REALLY love someone to write an Old Republic based AU with,even if you haven’t played any of the games (I’ve, personally, hardly evenplayed the MMO). I’d specifically love a chance to use Atton or Meetra. I’dLOVE someone to write their own version of the Exile opposite of my Atton becausein KotOR (2 specifically because that’s where these characters are from) youget some back story but mostly get to choose your own path, so you don’t haveto feel inclined to follow a specific type of character (also the Exile cantechnically be male or female in the game, so that helps too! She’s femalecanonically, but I’m not entirely like stuck on canon- in fact, I prefer Revanto be a female as well, personally, and canonically Revan is a male so...).But, yeah, I know I’m older than some of the rest of this community (andprobably more into Star Wars than a lot of them, too xD) so I know it’s a longshot finding someone to write Star Wars AUs with me, but they’re my favoriteand I could accidentally ramble for a hundred years about Star Wars AUs oTLI’ve also REALLY wanted to do an AU where both muses are on the run from the law(a serial killer duo would be fantastic, but I’d also just love one where maybethey’re both thieves doing heists together. Or maybe one of them hasaccidentally killed someone in a struggle and in a panic fled the scene and theother is a proper criminal who happens upon them and they join up to outrun thelaw). Speaking about NON-aus though, I’d really love to explore my muses powers more. I getto do it a little here and there (mostly with Hyuk and a little with Wheeinwhich is PERFECTION) but I’d like to focus a little more on the mutant side ofmy muses. How they discovered their powers growing up. The control (or lack of)that they have of their abilities now. How people react (both positively and negatively). How it affects their lives.Sooyeon trying desperately to control other elements because she knows shetechnically CAN, but she struggles with anything outside of water manipulation.Hyuna being able to transform into animals, maybe having to do so in order toescape. Also her ability to speak with them would be fun to explore, too. ALL OF HYOJIN’S ABILITIES. She can absorb memories and powers both, and shestill sometimes can’t control either. So her catching flashes of someone’smemories when she touches them, or finding out that someone is a mutant becauseshe accidentally starts stealing their powers and draining them of their life force. Hyojin is such an underrated muse of mine tbh.Ericka thinking the bar is closed and empty, but Rui didn’t tell her that shehired someone new so when Ericka teleports from home to the bar and suddenlyshe just kind of APPEARS there, she’s got a lot of explaining todo to the new employee. Sarah’s emotions accidentally manipulating the weather because she can’t alwayscontrol her powers, and it goes from a perfectly bright and sunny day tohowling winds and downpours. And maybe she has a friendwho kind of catches on, whether immediately or not. Her eyes go white when shechanges the weather intentionally, but that doesn’t always happen when it’sjust emotions causing it, so it might make it harder to catch on in that way. And I’d also love more chances to explore the harsher side of things-anti-mutant coalitions trying to assassinate mutants. Underground governmentprojects to create power suppressing/eliminating serums. “Science”outposts where they kidnap mutants and experiment on them, trying to discoverif they can eliminate their abilities or take them and give them to others tocreate super-soldiers. I’ve had a few opportunities to scratch the surface ofthese types of things, but I’d love the chance to go more in depth!Also, just about anything that’s a “broken timeline”. Like AUs but based on theactual muses backstories, just with a change or two that set things way offcourse and now they’re completely different people from who they are in themain verse.
