Very well-written Hanta-centric fic. I love that top Todoroki is implied since I hardly ever see that with this ship. My only gripe is that they never got to actual penetrative sex even though it was hinted at a few times, but other than that the fic was incredible. In particular, the reactions from other characters about Hanta wearing more “feminine” clothes were really realistic and captured the range of responses other than “boys don’t wear that!!!!!!” His internal conflict was really well-done too— even though he never got the negative response he was always bracing himself for (to the best of my memory), I like that those insecurities that society as a whole gave him were still present. All around amazing fic, highly recommend.

Because a friend told me she never knows what to write and then never comments, but wants to learn how to do better, I thought I’d compile a list, and maybe it will help someone else as well!

What to comment

Honestly, authors love friendly comments, no matter how small. Here are some ideas for short comments you can write to pretty much any fic you enjoyed:

If you want to write something a bit longer, you can for example

Tell the author where you have been reading the fic or what you were doing while reading it

Tell the author what you should have been doing instead of reading fanfic (and that it was worth it to read the fic)

Copy a passage (or several) from the fic you particularly enjoyed

Did the author write a note at the end or beginning of the fic? Maybe even ask a question? Sometimes you can reply to author’s notes in your comment

How did the fic make you feel? Happy, made you cry, made you laugh, made you jealous of a character, or made you want to punch an antagonistic character’s nose in? Write it in the comment!

Is it your first fic in a fandom or with a ship? Your favorite fic in a fandom, or with a specific character? Did you read it in one go? Did you savour it slowly reading over days or weeks? Have you enjoyed every update of a multi-chapter? Do you wish you could read it again for the first time? Write anything you want to let the author know about your reading experience!

Don’ts

There isn’t much you can do wrong when writing comments on fic, but there are a few things you should keep in mind:

don’t criticize (unless negative critics/what they can do better has been specifically asked for by the author, and then stick to the kind of criticism asked for, and best try to include something positive too to soften the blow)

don’t demand more/ask for updates - you can tell the author you’d read it if they wrote more, but don’t put pressure on them, you don’t know what’s happening in their lives right now and for what reason new entries might have slowed down, and they don’t owe you regular or any updates!

don’t tell them what to write (unless the author is taking prompts, and in most cases the comment section is not the right place for prompts, check what the author specified)

Remember: Fan fiction are free, from fans for fans, so etiquette is a bit different than in the Amazon reviews of books you paid good money for! Fic authors don’t have to cater to you, just enjoy that there are fics shared with the fandom :) If you don’t like something, or don’t like a part of something, either close the tab or quietly ignore the issue and just enjoy the parts you do like.

And in general, to end this on a positive note:

Yes, you can comment on older fanfics!

Yes, comment on several fics in a row if you’re reading through fics by one author!

Yes, comment on as many chapters of the same fic as you like!

Yes, you can make art for the fic and tell the author about it!

Yes, absolutely tell the author if you’re still thinking about a fic hours/days/years… after reading it!

Yes, send authors asks on tumblr/other sites talking about how you love their fics, if they link these sites in the author’s notes! (But also comment on Ao3)

Yes, you can comment/review even if you don’t have an account (at least on Ao3 and ffnet)!

Yes, please let the author know if you’re reading a fic for a second time, even if you just write ‘re-read kudos!’

The best comments are also written directly on the site the fanfiction got posted on (so usually ao3/ffnet and not tumblr/discord), both because it makes the note count higher, and because then the comment won’t quickly get buried under unrelated messages or posts and the author can come back and enjoy your comment for longer.

If you want to leave long comments about different parts of a fic or chapter, you can also make use of the floating Ao3 comment box! It allows you to type your comment while you're still reading, without having to leave the page!

Some fans don't like that Damian is a fan of Dinah Lance as a singer, but I personally like it lol. I don't like how silly he was made to be about it though, like singing one of the songs out loud in public for example, because he would never actually do that all lmaooo, he would keep that to ONLY himself lol. Also, I'm hearing now that it was actually a crush he was having on her, which I hate. Like, yes, he's an adult in that specific comic, but I'm tired of DC making him fall for almost every female and older woman that he interacts with, like just let him be normal about them already!!! I just like him being a fan of her music and that's it

5. One thing I wish would happen/had happen with this character in canon:

Start getting the respect he deserves after so much😤, cause like he literally changed himself and went through so much development for years now, but it's still not enough for DC writers or even some fans!! Like, just what do you want from him anymore????? He's been trying so much for too long now!!

For writers to stop treating him like he's nothing but evil, because he's not!! He's just a kid who grew up with a kind of life that's VERY different from everyone else's and was just taught ever since from a really young age to see things in other ways because of that. He does have a heart, it's the reason why he's made so much effort to become the person and hero he is today now and has left the whole League life behind. And about him being a tough person, that's just literally his dang personality, it's not something that adds to him being "evil" at all either

For DC to also just let him choose and make his own path as a hero when he grows up. He shouldn't become the next Batman by force or go through with becoming head of the Loa either, one of the big parts about his character is about discovering who HE actually is and figuring out what he really wants for himself instead, so he deserves to make his own choices by his own will. He should also become a vetinarian when it comes to getting a career

Stop with the white washing and start consistently representing his Arab side more, just like how the artist Gleb Melnikov did very boldly and also wonderfully in Robin 2021 when drawing him

And another one for the writers is to also stop making him crush on older woman!!!! PLEASE!! Just cut it out already!!! This entire thing has been going on ever since he was just 10 years old and nothing about it has ever been "cute!" or whatever they think of it as! It's just freaking weird and I don't understand why DC writers keep doing that to him! He's just a kid, not a grown man, so treat him like it!!! And stop deaging woman who were also already much older just to be with him and stop setting him up with his own female family members too! That one's already happened twice now (Mar'i and Cassandra) and now I'm scared that the writers of the second Supersons movie are gonna push that into there too with Cassandra AGAIN and ruin the film that way, which I really HOPE that doesn't happen AT ALL!😖

Let him have an actual relationship with his Mother instead of keeping them distant so much! Damian deserves to have her in his life too, not just Bruce as his Father, and she also deserves to have him in hers as well. Despite how things may be, they really love eachother a lot and it's not fair that they don't get to be as close as they were before, which is also really heartbreaking to think about honestly

Damian should also get to have a relationship with Respawn too that can develop into a sibling one at some point if ever he ever does appear again in the future

Never let him act like a normal person, let him forever be his weird, strange self, because that's literally one of the biggest things that MAKES HIM DAMIAN and I love him for it lol. Batman and Robin 2023 tried to change this about him in it's protayal and I hated it, it felt like some imposter, which just frustrated me a lot and made some things boring too. This goes for other kinds of mischaracterizations that were done to him too, like Gotham War as the most recent example, which was a big time failure at doing it well in a different way. Writers need to learn how to get to know him better first before actually writing him in their stories, deciding how he will react and treat things that happen in said story and it's plot. Here's something else much better too, he needs to start getting writers who actually like/love, respect, and actually understand him!

Hi!! First, I'd love to say that I'm absolutely in love with your art. I've been a Les Mis fan since I was 9 or 10, and Enjolras was always my favorite character, and Grantaire my close second. i never I shipped ExR until I saw your art. I've read your fanfics and literally clicked through all your art since when you started posting (somehow I found the time), and it is so fun to see your art progress! I gratefully came across your art recently when I was in a huge art block for 2D hand-drawn art, having transferred to 3D CGI art several years go. You really inspired me to draw again (and to listen to and watch Les Mis again...)

Anyways, I've started trying to sketch in my sketchbook almost every day. I've always had one problem, and that would be the size of the drawings. I usually draw like these teeny tiny full body characters that are like at most 3 inches tall, and their heads are like less than an inch. (and it's so frustrating when i try to erase a tiny detail and end up erasing half of the head). And I have trouble drawing a consistent size for multiple characters in a scene. Do you have any advice on drawing size or any sort of guidelines or like base shapes (idk what they're called when you do that type of blocking, I never took legit drawing classes)?

Hi there! First of all thank you so much!!!! I'm so glad you enjoy my work and enjoyed seeing my growth over the years. I am happy it helped inspire you too!!! I have some advice that is not useful and maybe some that is more useful.

My non-useful advice is I'm an ipad girlie, meaning I currently am mostly only digital sketches, and the advantage of that is you can change the size of anything at any time, which is extremely helpful because I, like you, also end up drawing things in the wrong size all the time and need to adjust that. Unfortunately though having the ease of that does not apply to your situation. Something you could do, but is still roundabout, is back when I was drawing traditional all the time, I would save my major edits for proportions and sizes for photoshop when I got home, so I would scan and make a bunch of digital edits rather than undoing what I did on the paper if I liked most of what was there already, since detail was easier to fix when you can blow it up on the comp. This would also be what I would do when I have characters that are two different sizes, I would fix them gently in photoshop when I got a chance to scan in the sketch. I should add if you are able to do that I think it's a great solution and not 'cheating' in anyway if the paper version isn't the finished product.

However maybe my more useful advice is to get a bigger sketchbook. Bigger paper can help you getting used to working bigger. If you have a tiny sketchbook you'll get used to drawing tiny and I really don't rec that, because I think the reason why my hands are so messed up is because I got used to drawing small and tight. In art school they really stress drawing loosely and bigger. When I say bigger I mean like printer paper sized (8.5x11) or more? I got used to these travel sketchbooks and I don't think they did me any favors.

I would rec drawing the head at least maybe an inch tall if not more? I think maybe when you first are drawing and you put down the little skeletal bits of drawing (the first thing I always draw is like the circle and jaw shape for the head), make sure that it doesn't get smaller than that. A full body at 3 inches sounds incredibly painful for your hands to draw! I don't feel like I'm sounding very helpful right now but I do think that it will be much healthier for your hands to learn to draw bigger or you'll end up with tendinosis like me (sadness.) But yes, I think challenge yourself when you're first putting down your skeletal structure to go bigger. Get bigger paper, and try to do a full body that fills the page. You'll also be able to fit in more detail. Now that's not to say that I don't draw small still, but I don't go under an inch with my heads, so at least try that! As for characters sizes, make sure that you do have a base structure in place for them before you start any details, compare their sizes, measure with your eyes, and make sure you're happy with the way they look next to each other before you finalize, if you're not going to digitally edit anything later. I hope that helps a little? I feel like I might be just saying things you've already tried but hopefully I might have said something useful.

5- what’s the thing you dislike the most about your Blorbo?

Hoid- for a guy who's been around for millennia, he can still be really stupid about power structures sometimes. He's got like 90% of his gender biases figured out, but he'll occasionally come out with something that just makes me go 'huh??' And it catches me even further off-guard because he's usually so good about it.

10- if your Blorbo were real, would you trust them with your life?

I'd probably trust Jester, but even that is a narrow margin. The rest of my primary F/Os? Absolutely not.

15- have you ever gotten involved in ship wars?

*deep sigh* I try my very best not to. I'll complain to friends about ships I don't like, but I really try not to publicly get into it with people. To be transparent, I used to care a lot as a young teenager: I banned someone from our lunch group because they shipped one of my NOTPs and it lives in my brain as one of my low points. A main reason I make every possible effort not to do that these days.

20- if you have more than one Blorbo, do you love them all equally?

GOD no, I could probably rank all of my blorbos, favourite characters and fictional others alike. I definitely love some of them in different ways (genuine inspiration vs fascinating vs love them mostly for what people do with them in fandom instead of canon vs selfshipping)

25- how did you first discover your Blorbo?

Hmmmm I think someone sent a message to one of my request blogs about him in the context of age regression, actually! And then I watched the TV show and loved it enough to buy the books as well!

It's been a couple of years since he became a blorbo and I still feel very strongly about my love for him, so YES! I think he will still be a blorbo in three years.

3. What fandoms do you write for?

The big ones were Stargate and Harry Potter and The Untamed. I've also dabbled briefly in CSI, Leverage, Firefly, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Last of the Mohicans.

4. What are your top five fics by kudos?

It's all HP fic, which I think speaks both to the size of that fandom, but also that I started writing for that fandom as I moved to AO3.

5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?

I do try to respond to comments, because each and every one of them mean a lot to me. But I am not always great about it. I think I kind of respond in giant bursts? So there are times when I just don't, often because I am totally focused on getting the next chapter out or something, but then I will just sit down on day and just mass respond to a lot. I could always be better at it though.

6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

Interesting. I am in no way afraid of angst, but I usually like to at least have a hopeful ending, if not a wildly happy pay off ending. I'm not sure I've ever done a full tragedy ending. Outside some one-off comment fic or ficlet posted here or there.

I think down here among the wreckage (Sam/Jack, SG-1) is my most infamously angsty fic of all time, and I never completely got to finish it? So it ends pretty darn angsty. Though maybe Beneath the Stains of Time (boy, I used to love a good apocafic!)

my kingdom come undone (Untamed, wangxian) is pretty darn angsty too, I suppose.

7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

Hopefully almost all of them? Though, I suppose I mostly like to exist in the "here's some pay off after angst, but I'm never gonna say everything is all good because it never is" area.

Maybe Life is What Happens which is sort of a coda to who Harry/Ginny could have ended up being?

8. Do you get hate on fic?

Occasionally, but not that often. I've only gotten something I would consider straight up hate speech twice, and those just get immediately deleted. Otherwise it's mostly someone telling me what they don't like. Some people really hated The Changeling. And some people really think I hate Hermione for some reason and hated that. Oh, boy and now I'm remembering the time I mentioned the mere possibility of a different pairing (Sam/Daniel) than my usual ship at the time (Sam/Jack) and got a lot of hate about that!

9. Do you write smut?

Not in the beginning, no. I distinctly remembering @holdouttrout and I being like "how can people write smut! I could never!" and then not so long later we had a good time coming back and laughing at ourselves and each other as we wrote smut. Lol. Good times, Trout!

These days, yes, I am known to sometimes write smut. I don't do a lot of PWP, but I think smut can be a great part of storytelling and character development. I'm not sure I'm any good at it, and it's probably the kind of writing I am least confident in, but I'm usually willing to try a hand at it.

10. Do you write crossovers?

Very occasionally I have. Mostly in response to a challenge or a fest or some sort of organized event. It can be fun to just take two things you like and brainstorm what it would possibly look like to smoosh them together. I think the biggest crossovers I ever wrote were a SG-1/Firely one (Raggedy Edge) and a SG-1/House MD one (Unexpected). Both were fics I wrote for someone else. (Man, I have this SG-1/Leverage fic that I always wanted to write but doubt I ever will. I think I had Maggie as one of Jack's cousins or something.)

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Not that I know of. People have occasionally posted one of my fics in weird archive or something. But no one's ever tried to claim one of my stories as their own.

12. Have you ever had a fic translated?

Yes, a few! I know there are a few languages for The Changeling. Though I'm not sure if any were ever finished. I've had a few requests for various things over the years. And then I put up a "feel free to do without asking" disclaimer, so who knows!

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

No, that is not something I've ever done. I'm always impressed by that. And some of the best fics I've ever read have been team written. (A Narrow Bridge by @frameofmind9 and Jo Lasalle, it's AMAZING.) I find it such an interesting and impressive idea. Not sure I'd be able to do it, but it's interesting!

14. What’s your all-time favourite ship?

I feel attacked. What kind of a question to ask a shipper. Well, there is always what takes up all my brain space in the moment, which is Lan Wangji/Wei Wuxian in The Untamed. But Sam/Jack (SG-1) was my first and will always own a part of my brain.

It's interesting too, because there are ships I adore, ships I love to read about, and ships I love to write about. And those three don't always align. I think Sam/Jack and Wangxian have been the two biggest ships for me that touch all three of those at once.

15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but probably won’t?

Excuse me as I open my writing folder and gesture at everything all at once. Okay, I'll be nicer to myself. I am in a space where I feel like I will never finish anything ever again, but I will have faith!!

There's really too much. So many HP fics that I am sad that I will probably never get to. There's a time travel fic, there's a Harry never went to Hogwarts AU, oh, man, the zombie fic. So many.

There's a ton of SG-1 fics I left half-imagined, but it's been a decade since I stopped writing for that fandom, so I'm more distant from it now.

I want to finish them all!!

16. What are your writing strengths?

Hm. This is hard. Probably because saying nice things about ourselves is hard and feels like being egotistical or something. Lol. I think I really like weaving various plot lines, themes, and character development, probably because that is the thing I love doing and so have spent a lot of time experimenting and practicing. I think I also have an ability to trust my instincts with what is working and what isn't, even if I'm stubborn about ignoring it sometimes. Can being stubborn as hell being a writing strength. Because that, honestly.

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

I have very little discipline. People who can outline something and then just knock a draft out are amazing to me. I am very slow and only tend to write when I'm in the mood. I think I can also be overly sensitive to unsolicited criticism. And in some cases solicited criticism from someone I haven't built trust with. That might mostly be the giant case of imposter syndrome I lug around with myself. So I might be sensitive, but I've been trying to build my skills in hearing it and reacting appropriately in a constructive way. I feel like brevity is another problem! Just look at this darn post!

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

Honestly, I don't attempt it. If someone is speaking a different language, I am more likely to just put the dialogue in italics or something, if whoever the POV is understands that language.

19. First fandom you wrote for?

Stargate SG-1. At least the first I ever wrote and shared. I think I wrote fanfic in my head for decades before realizing what it even was. (Let's say that I had quite the crush on Wesley Crusher and fantasized ways some OC self-insert might be able to marry him while also being adopted by Picard. Ah...the early 90s. What a time to be alive.)

20. Favourite fic you’ve written?

Wow, and I thought some of these earlier questions were rude. 😂

I'm going to cheat and say that whatever i am currently working on is always my favorite.

Also, I really liked who i am at the end of the day which is so obscure that no one ever read it. (I think it has like 2 comments and one of them was @runawaymarbles being nice to me. <3 )But I just love a lot about it. Sometimes I daydream about removing the serial numbers and turning it into it's own thing.

i'll be honest LOL i was oblivious in stuff like this when i was a teenager. yes, i'd drool over celebrities and characters, but i never knew shipping was a thing.

i don't really do discourse most of the time.

i don't know how you define no-otp. like is it just something you don't ship, or you hate? there are ships that i don't like, and i just don't mention them at all on my blog. if you know that i've watched a show or film, but i never mention or reblog a popular ship from the show/film, that's probably my no-otp...

7. Who were the couple in the last fanfic you read?

LOL i'm predictable, shi qiang x wang miao (shiwang) from three-body. i'm especially into reading fanfic recently. one of the first things i check every morning is if there's new shiwang fic.

8. Currently, do you have any OTPs?

shiwang has been living in my mind rent free for an entire year now, and i haven't gotten tired of them yet...probably never will...

recently i'm into cheng bing x pan dahai from the lonely warrior and tang chuan x shi hong from the devotion of suspect x.

and just to name a few other otps: guang hongfeng x zhou xun in day and night, lee joongyeop x cha jaehwan from chimera, lee chang x youngshin in kingdom; cheng fengtai x shangxirui from winter begonia, agron x nasir from spartacus, jack x ianto from torchwood, and my first whitechapel ship is always very important to me.

9. Is there any couple that, to this day, you are extremely mad about not getting together?

i'm used to not having ships be 100% canon. what can you do? sigh!

definitely shiwang...i kinda stopped reading fanfic in early 2019 due to the original sin/原生之罪 drama and a family incident...i might have tried some fanfic occasionally, but i generally wasn't in a mood for fanfic until three-body aired in 2023.

another reason is back then, most chinese fanfic writers don't really use ao3, so lots of fanfic for day and night and original sin was on lofter and weibo instead of ao3. and it's a pain in the ass trying to track fic on those sites. but now, most of the shiwang fic would be on ao3. and because shiwang is very loved in cfandom, new fic never stops coming.

i do read western fandom fanfic too, but definitely not as much as the chinese ones ever since i got back into cdramas in 2017.

14. What most of your ships usually have in common?

give me all of the dilfslove or dld (dilf loves dilf) LOL.

enemies to lover is something i always like. though how you define "enemy" would be very different in different ships. i also tend to ship work partners (detective duos; cop & some kind of consultant; villain duos)

15. What you absolutely hate in a ship?

maybe the lack of chemistry? if i can't feel the chemistry between the actors, no matter how romantic or hot the plot is between them, i probably won't ship them.

Hello, everyone!!!! It's that time of year again!!! Now, I know that in the past two years, I haven't been very reliable at getting out my Christmas requests, and I greatly apologize for this. 2. Favourite canon thing about this character?

How am I supposed to choose? D: There's how funny he is, how evil he is, how clever he is, how creative he is, how persistent he is...

I do especially love how hands-on he is with his schemes. It's one aspect of many that sets him apart from other villains, and when you think about it, his eager dedication to his work ties-in to how his (evil) willpower in general is comparable to Sonic's own. I think it's one of those things that, while not as immediately apparent as some of his other traits, is nonetheless equally important to maintain.

5. What's the first song that comes to mind when you think about them?

Boss themes and level themes are an impossible one for me to pin down thanks to the sheer number of bangers associated with him over the years, and how they're great and iconic for different reasons depending on which one we're talking about.

Leitmotifs, on the other hand...

Make no mistake, E.G.G.M.A.N. and the '06 theme are both great, but this one really makes you feel like he's about to bust your windows and break your back like Bane broke Batman. It's so goddamn loud and intrusive, which means it's perfect for him. Not to mention there still remains a sinister undertone, since it usually signified that he was about to make things worse for our heroes.

12. What's a headcanon you have for this character?

1. The dart one. Where he has a dartboard with Sonic's face on it in every single base. Including each ship that makes up the Egg Fleet. Just in case he's there and needs to unwind.

2. He doesn't remember much about his parents... and largely doesn't care.

3. He used some of Gerald's inheritance money just to quickly get himself off the ground when he began scheming, but this wasn't for long. Once he had some solid footing, he began earning all his money and resources through his own means, be it mining operations, entertainment facilities...

4. He has a list of all the times he tricked Knuckles. He also has a list of all the evildoers who attempted to usurp him that are coincidentally no longer with us.

5. While Eggman was disappointed in Metal Sonic for betraying and impersonating him in Heroes, he was even more disappointed that he wasn't even that good at it. If you're going to impersonate the world's most brilliant genius, you better not make an arse of it.

6. By the time Infinite made his "decades" remark, Eggman was already planning on getting rid of him, because the moment someone shows him disrespect, they're on his shitlist. One blunder too many from Infinite was simply a convenient excuse that the doctor wasted no time in taking advantage of. That's why it happened so quickly and casually: he already made up his mind on Infinite's fate ages ago.

7. To this day, Eggman feels a sense of possessiveness over Shadow, and would still prefer to have Gerald's magnum opus under his thumb. He knows that's not likely at this point though, so he remains unbothered about killing him if need be.

8. The first robot he ever made was a prototype Motobug.

9. And on the subject of Badniks, one reason why so many of them are based on animals and foliage is because it's his way of trying to one-up Mother Nature. What's better than dinosaurs? Dinosaurs with machine guns.

10. He scrapped SA-55 for grating on him too much with his snarky backtalk, and replaced him with Orbot, whose comments he can tolerate more because they tend to be said with a tone of fear.

11. While his taste for theme parks is genuine, he also makes them as a way to mock Sonic, by creating something full of cheer and laughter as Sonic is consistently seconds away from death.

12. Eggman likes to accuse Sonic of being a horsefucker.

There's actually even more I have, but I'd be here all day. What do you expect, he's my favourite character of all time. XP

21. If you're a fic writer and have written for this character, what's your favourite thing to do when you're writing for this character? What's something you don't like?

I could take the easy way out and say all of it is my favourite part and none of it is my least favourite, because he's just that fun and diabolical. But if I have to single out something that doesn't get brought up that often, I like to emphasize - sometimes blatantly, sometimes subtly - how uncanny he can be.

You see, it's known at this point that I don't exactly love it when Sonic and Co are given ridiculous meme faces and other over-exaggerated qualities (not counting unintentional examples like SA1's animation, which remain endearing in part because they're unintentional). Yes, they are cartoon characters, and yes, they can show a cartoony side, but they're not deranged off-the-wall loonies doped up on heroin, and it's more than possible to let them react to things in a dignified way that remains in-character.

But then there's Eggman. He's the exception. He can get away with all the goofy faces and abstract gestures he wants, because that's already who Eggman is. I just think the idea of the guy without powers being the one who has all this insane energy and ability to borderline distort his face really goes a long way to establishing how eerily off he is compared to everyone else, and serves as a low-key reminder that his human status and lack of traditional superpowers is not a limitation for him.

I have a very vivid imagination so how I usually write is I write what I see in my head, like I'm directing a movie and translating that onto paper. I like to include all the senses if possible to help the reader immerse themselves in the story and I'm big on feelings. When I write the angsty stuff, sometimes it can take a bit of a toll on me because I channel the character and feel all those things so i can regurgitate it back for the reader. It's very cathartic too.

Also banter! I love writing banters.

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

I think I have a tendency to write reader characters/OCs very similar and I'm trying to be more aware of it to adapt to what the story needs. I also feel like I'm not detailed enough. Again, I write like I'm directing a movie so sometimes they come off more screenplay-ish.

I've used some Spanish here and there but not like an entire conversation.

1. How many works do you have on A03?

31! Wow! Not even counting my FF.net and Spirit (portuguese site) fics too. I think adding them would be around 50? I know for sure I have much more than that in my drive.

2. What's your total A03 word count?

739.765 Whaaaaat? That's so many! And it's mostly the ones I write in english!

3. What fandoms do you write for?

Inuyasha, Katekyo Hitman Reborn, My Hero Academia and Legend of Zelda, more specifically LU!

4. What are your top five fics by kudos?

A Link in a chain . My first LU fic! My baby <3 Modern day, soulmate marking and platonic soulmates. The main focus is Wild getting to know them, then Legend accepting the others and finally Spirit joining them.

All Might said 'No'. This was a prompt for a MHA server and I had a lot of fun! All Might is the literal quirk, like a ghost protecting the Midoriyas.

Always! I love to receive comments. Even key-smashing make my day a lot better when I check the email

Probably The Sacred Trees. It's more like a happy ending with heavy consequences. I live for happy ending, not sorry about that. They will suffer but they will be happy eventually.

All of them? I'd dare say the happiest was Took You Long Enough, a Midlink reunion during LU and then afterwards. From the concluded, that's the happiest one but there's an even better one coming from a different fic not posted yet :D

8. Do you get hate on fics?

Not recently, but I did in the Inuyasha and Katekyo fandom! I usually say a simple "thank you for your critique" because this usually throw people off enough that they leave me alone.

9. Do you write smut?

No! There's some heavily implied things, but nothing graphic or very descriptive (by very heavily, I'm counting the omegaverse fic too; I liked the concept but wanted something with less sex)

Not oftenly, but yes! The last one I wrote was a MHA and LU crossover when the brain was divided between them.

Once! The person copied one of my biggest series in portuguese, changed the name of the characters and some physical descriptions but it was basically the same. I asked them to put down, but had to dm some of the site's admin to make sure it was deleted.

Yes! Once by a friend from the MHA fandom and they encouraged me a lot to write more in english and give it a try. I'm here now so thanks to her!

Yes! It will never see the light of day though, but my bestie and I created a whole novel about a couple and how the wife slowly got mad and then killed him in the end.

14. What's your all-time favorite ship?

Hmm, that's too hard! I have many favorites!

Probably Zelink. LoZ is my old new obsession, it always go back and forth between the games as they are released or as I play again and the animes I'm watching. BotW and TotK gave me so much shipping material I'll be happily reading it until the next game is released.

A close second would be Kyoya/Chrome from KHR. I just love their dynamic, specially when they help each other to grow (and Mukuro being a gremlin jealous older sibling, that's the cherry on top)

15. What's the WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

A fanfic for the Grand Chase game when I played it. Ryan almost dies when they cross a desert, Ronan is sent to another world and needs to complete some quests to do that (he's my fav alright? I just needed a reason to send him to another world and do quests by himself, maybe question his faith and all that). I wrote maybe 30k? The idea is lovely and taunts me from a distance but I've never come back to writing it

16. What are your writing strengths?

A very good question... I'd say creating AUs. I love world building and leaving small details that have significance for the story later, I think I do an okay job at balacing dialogue and descriptions. My beta says I'm good at leaving crumbles in the story to solve the problem in the end too

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

Punctuation in any language! Ugh, I just love commas sooooo much!

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

English punctuation doesn't make much sense for me until now! I'm relying heavily on the corrector and trying to read more to see if I can absorb the info.

I'm very self indulgent when writing so I like most of them. I'd say the longest time favorite in portuguese is Librarian, a Toshinko fic where Inko is the hero and Toshinori is a librarian she meets because her son is a book geek. In english is A Link in a chain.

Yes, or at least I try to! I have a bad habit of thinking my response but never actually writing it down and then forgetting about it completely... But I try my best to remember to reply, even if it ends up taking a while.

6. What’s the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

Neither of my finished fics/oneshots have closed endings, so I guess it depends on what you imagine happens afterwards. Neither of them are exactly happy though.

I haven’t finished posting it yet, but it shouldn’t come as a surprise that After The Sun Has Set will soon take that title. I mean, it's already happier than anything else that I've written

I do, occasionally. I don’t know exactly how to describe what kind, other than that my smut scenes tend to be quite sad?? I like using them as a way to explore or exaggerate some complicated character dynamic, and I guess that’s why they often turn into something at least a little uncomfortable. As much as I enjoy reading smut that’s all sexy and romantic, for some reason I can’t write it myself at all haha

15. What’s a WIP you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?

Last spring I wrote about 45k words of post-Assassin’s Fate happy ending AU. The outline for it is massive, and what I’ve written so far covers maybe one tenth at most. I know I will never have the patience to finish it, but somewhere at the back of my mind I refuse to let it go. I’ve been trying to see if I could turn parts of it into one-shots or something, but who knows what I’ll end up doing 🤷

16. What are your writing strengths?

I’d say I’m fairly good at characterization, as well as building up tragic and angsty scenarios. My favorite thing when writing fanfiction is to take some (usually sad) aspect of a character/relationship/etc and then dive deep into that, and I think I do it pretty well.

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

My prose, especially detailed descriptions and creative similes and metaphors and the like. Writing those does not come naturally to me at all, and I feel like I often get stuck using cliches and specific words or phrases, and then have to spend half my time editing to make things less repetitive.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

 Not my thing, I prefer to keep everything in one language.

 Harry Potter, I think? Way back in like 2008 or 2009.

20. Favourite fic you’ve ever written?

From RotE stuff, After the Sun Has Set. It’s the first time I’ve managed to fully write, edit and post a multi-chapter fic from start to finish, and that alone is a huge achievement for me. Writing every chapter from a different character’s PoV was also a really fun (if sometimes frustrating) challenge and I’m really glad to have done it. Outside of RotE, a few years back I wrote this super self-indulgent novel-length Zemyx fic. I never posted it anywhere and it’s kind of crap quality-wise so I never will, but since it’s basically just every romance trope I’ve ever liked, it’s fun to reread for comfort every once in a while.

I do my best to respond to every comment. Usually, if I don't, it's because I didn't see it and it's been long enough that I feel awkward replying so much later lol. But I appreciate every comment I get.

6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

I don't actually write sad or angsty endings, really. I guess the closest would probably be Bucky Barnes Hates Christmas because that whole fic is just full of bittersweet holiday feels, and even though the ending is happy, the tone of it is still kind of bittersweet?

7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

Like I said, almost all my endings are happy, but I'd probably go with The Promise of Cheesecake and a Decent Wine for this answer. Just because they went through so much angst to get there, like so much angst.

8. Do you get hate on fics?

I have gotten hate on a couple fics, but I just delete and ignore it.

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

Yes, I write smut when I feel like the fic calls for it or is made better by having it. I don't really know how I'd describe it? Emotional. Very emotional.

10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?

I don't write crossovers these days, but way back in middle school when I was writing on fanfiction . net under a different username, my first-ever fic was a crossover. It was a self-insert into two of my favorite book series, and I don't remember much from it other than that it was objectively cringe, but eh. I was in middle school and just starting to try writing for the first time, so what do you expect?

Not that I'm aware of.

Nope, or if they have, no one ever told me about it.

Nope! I would be curious to try though. Usually writing for me is such a solitary process, it would be cool to see how trying to write with someone else worked.

SamBucky, though I definitely have a soft spot for the rareships I write for as well.

15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

I literally have a folder titled "Ideas I probably won't write" which is where my fics go to die when I know I won't write them. I would love to write a couple of the Steve/Thor ideas I have in there, or the Cap Quartet Polycule one, but I just struggle so hard to write Steve Rogers in an engaging way. I don't know what it is about him, but we apparently don't jive when I try to make him a main character.

16. What are your writing strengths?

Dialogue usually comes easily to me.

Setting. Description. Smut scenes. I could go on, but I'm going to stop there lol.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

I've done it before, and it went okay. I actually ended up having people tell me they felt more included because I'd used their language. That said, it's not something I do often, and I am usually at the mercy of whatever translator app I'm using, but I try to make that clear in the author's notes and use short phrases/single words instead of full sentences.

Maximum Ride and *mumbles unintelligibly* - that crossover fic from middle school.

20. Favorite fic you’ve written?

I love all of my fics for different reasons, and I don't know that I could say I have a favorite, but the one I reread the most often is probably Cinnamon-Brown Sugar Coffee Creamer. It's shorter, it's cozy, and in all of Sam's partners in that fic just love(d) him so so much. It's very sweet imo.

Like, actively? Cause uh, I'm the kind of person who needs to finish the fic before I can post it, and so I'm currently in the process of a whole bunch of fics that I haven't yet posted. Those are Gunsmoke (radio version), MASH, Star Wars: Legends + Star Wars: prequels, Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and the DCU (but more like, specifically the all media types of Batman and Superman specifically)

I try to! Recently I haven't been as good about keeping up with them because of my chronic illness stuff, but when I have a good day I try to get them done :) I think it's really fun to connect with people who have similar tastes as I do, and get to discuss headcanons or plot points or what have you!!

6. What is a fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

I don't usually write things that end on angst, I usually aim for hurt/comfort or at least some form of hopeful ending. I've been told that Missing Memories is my angstiest fic, but I think that title is actually held by Pompeii (If You Close Your Eyes) (song fic)

7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

I'd say if i were to save you, would you do the same (kylux). It's the whole surviving against all odds and then looking toward the future thing, you know?

8. Do you get hate on fics?

Not on Ao3, but I have on ff.net. It's been a few years since those days though!

I do!! I just don't post it, for reasons related to I haven't finished the fics in question yet lol. I try to write it as a way for the characters to explore each other and connect on a different level beyond the usual grime and gore and horror of the worlds they live in.

So. I don't have any posted yet oh no I've said this like five times by now ahh, however I have plot bunnies for a MASH/Star Wars: prequels crossover, and I just started plotting out a Gunsmoke/DCU crossover. I think the Gunsmoke/DCU one is crazier exclusively because it's a very tiny fandom for a radio/TV show from the 50's mixed with the whole Batman and Superman fandoms, which. Kind of a large set of fandoms there ngl

I have no idea. Probably, but I haven't heard about it.

I did the 2021 Kylux Big Bang with @viraaja and the 2021 Obikin Big Bang with @skittlles !! I'd love to do more work with others at some point, genuinely wonderful experiences!

Is it a cop out to say I just don't have one? I never really leave a fandom, even once I'm not actively writing for it, I just kind of cycle through them, so I cycle through my ships accordingly. Maybe PruCan (Hetalia), if only because they're my oldest otp??

15. What's a wip you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?

Well. Ideally none of them. I have every intention of eventually finishing everything I'm currently writing, hence why I refuse to post them until they're done. That said, I've been sitting on several mostly-finished fics for like three+ years without actively working on them so. We'll see.

16. What are your writing strengths?

I've been told my characterisation is really good, and I try to get as accurate a voice as I can for every character!!!

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

Repeating phrases and words without intending to. I used that exact word three times in like three paragraphs in a row, why am I like this!

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

Two thoughts: if you know enough of the language to have proper grammar and etc sure go for it, but also, is it being used with or without translation? If no one else is supposed to understand (besides the reader), I think that's very fun and 10/10, but if the other characters are supposed to understand and it's a lengthy bit, I think there can be other more effective ways to get that across.

Phineas and Ferb, and honestly I regret deleting those fics so so much now! I have no records of my writing from back then, and yes I found them cringe as an older teenager but now I just wish I could go back and tell my 13 year old self how far we've come.

Yeah, I try to because I've heard people say when they don't see the author reply they assume the comments aren't being read anyways and don't comment. & I am an attention whore so... But otherwise, personnally I don't really care if my own comments on other peoples fics don't get replied to. And either way i read and reread and adore each and every one of my comments, but its just that making coherent replies to them is difficult and i feel like everyone would rather i be writing the fic instead. Idk lol xD

6. Angstiest ending?

I think it's Going Out In A Bang. But then again i don't really write much angst and especially angst that ends bad so... Its not much.

Cause i feel like it's always a bit awkward for me to write those completely different characters interacting, idk.

Technically not a fic in the conventional sense of the term but I did taking the Crown with @unending-vigil , it was literary rp adapted to fic. That was pretty neat, he read over all of my many typos and I didnt even have to ask 🤣

For now it's jonelias as well 😌 But that sort of things tends to change a lot for me over a few years so, I guess we'll see if i find new blorbos to occupy my every waking hour and a few of my asleep ones as well.

I'm more so very into platonic pairings usually, funnily enough. Guess those freaks be the exception.

Hopefully none of them? My momma didn't raise no quitter okay. I will finish all of them or die trying.

... But reasonnably yeah theres a few of them I probably won't finish finish because the format is such that you can always add more after (like the incorrect quotes thingiemajig)

I think I'm pretty good at elaborate and flowery descriptions! Setting up a vibe, you know? I also like overplanning everything and so I feel like my timelines are usually pretty coherent?

Oh, and NAMING FICS. It's so fun its my favorite thing ever. 50% of the reason i finish fics is so i can see the number go up and 50% is because i want to see my beautiful titles appear on my page.

Let's say none because lying to myself is the only way I won't get buried by my own self doubt xD no but um, speed and editing maybe? My faulty executive functionning I guess? XD and maybeeee creating tension and suspense

18. Thoughts on mixed language dialogue?

Honestly? I don't like it. There is in the end only a very small percentage of people for whom it will work (those who speak both languages) otherwise you're just making your dialogue harder to read I feel like? And I also feel like there are a very few ways to make it actually work and fit well. "¡Hola amigos! Oh sorry I always forget to switch back" is not one of them. If the narrator doesn't understand the language and we get to discover it alongside them (/as a fun lil easter egg) though I feel like it can sometimes be interesting.
