Someone (it was the sister of the girl who hugged me like 50 times lol) sent a noise complaint up to the kids on the sky lounge (it’s their prom from what I’m guessing since they’re all dressed up as if it were one..) and I’m just… I felt bad for having to tell them to lower the noise since it’s the afternoon first of all? Like you don’t own this building 🧍🏾♀️… I understand but it’s too early for this and if someone is having a get together or party or so, noise is to be expected anyway? Eh…
The girl is kind of like, I wouldn’t say rude but kind of stuffy? Like, she has an attitude or so? Even when I saw her again and her sister was thanking me for like, getting them back in contact, she looked like she had an attitude and also, embarrassed of her sister? I could tell that the younger sister really loved her a ton. She legit was about to start sobbing all into my ears over the phone because she couldn’t get in contract with her sister and thought that something bad might’ve happened to her… I hope she wasn’t ignoring her sister because she thinks she’s annoying or something :(. Like really thinking about it now. I could tell that she probably sees her sister as annoying and that makes me just ☹️. I’m pretty good at reading people too so damn.
Idk these people, I just work here but she’s so strange like girl, unscrew your face 😭. It’s not that serious.
#rambling#most of the people here are super friendly though#there’s the rude ones who don’t speak but most people do and are all smiles and it’s very nice to be greeted in such a way#I like to pet the dogs… I’m trying to get over my fear of dogs lol#it’s more like I can deal with a dog if they aren’t jumping all over you and barking loud as soon as they see a person like that makes me#nervous#the dogs here don’t do that you can tell these folks trained their pets properly

Simon is cold, he’s rough, rude, and doesn’t give a shit about anyone else’s opinions.
Except for you, to you he’s soft, vulnerable, sweet, loving, and happy.
One day you go to drop off his lunch at base as he has forgotten it.
You walk in, dressed in a light pink sundress with flowers on it.
White sandals on your feet, your toes painted white and your nails done in a light pink.
You walk in and go up to the receptionist. All eyes on you.
“Is Simon here?” You ask softly, a small smile on your pink lips
The receptionist looks at you confused, “Simon? Ma’am I’m afraid I don’t know who you’re speaking of.”
A few minutes pass and you’re waiting on the receptionist, when all of a sudden a group of men walk in.
Everyone stands up and salutes them except you, you look up from your phone and see your husband.
“Simmy!” You run through the group of men until you reach Simon, hugging him tightly. The room goes silent as everyone stares.
Some people whisper knowing that he’s most likely gonna push you off and say a rude remark but he doesn’t. Not to you.
He wraps his arms around you as well and picks you up. “Hey love,” He kisses your cheek and hugs you tighter. “What are you doing here?”
You pull away and hug his arm, smiling brightly. “You forgot your lunch, where were you?”
“Just a mission.” He grumbles, he holds your hand and without even saying bye to his comrades he leads you to his office.
Leaving everyone shocked and confused, they all thought that he was lying when he said he was married. And especially they didn’t expect his wife to be so gorgeous.

Killing Wanda
Summary: You, Nat and Yelena are successful assassins, damn good at your jobs but there was one woman you couldn’t stay away from, and when you get a job that tells you to kill her, well you needed to be around Wanda all the time now, and she wasn’t getting away from you, no one would get on your way to have her
Words: a lot, like over 3,000 I think
Warnings: Minors DNI 18+ suggestive themes, swearing and adult themes
A/n: God I’m on fire with releasing fics, hopefully my writing drought is over now and I’ll be writing more now
Also this is long so I’m hoping there’s no mistakes but if there is I’m sorry
The door was open when Wanda came downstairs and she started to panic, she closed the door she was sure of it, what could have happened?
A noise from the kitchen broke Wanda out of her thoughts and she stepped quietly towards the kitchen where the noise was, finally seeing someone digging through the kitchen drawers “you really should learn to organise your utensils you know, it’s a mess in here, if you brought a woman home and she looked in here I don’t think she’d want to do the tongue tango with you would she? A disordered drawer isn’t impressive to people Wanda”
You had yet to turn around and face Wanda, content to keep sorting out the scrambled mess “Y/n why are you in my house?” Wanda whispered and you finally turned around smiling at the scared woman “oh my darling you look tired, have you been sleeping well?”
Wanda didn’t answer instead just moving around the table to sit down still holding your gaze “I’ll ask again, why are you in my house?”
You bit your lip holding in a laugh “oooooh we’re feeling grumpy tonight aren’t we? Maybe you need to relax, I can call Yelena to make us Mac n cheese and I’ll send Natasha to get some wine-
Wanda slammed her fist down on the table cutting you off “don’t fucking play with me Y/n, tell me why you’re here!”
While you were slightly caught off guard you pulled yourself together and reached for a dagger on your person and pointed it at Wanda giving her a warning “I wasn’t finished talking, you’re a grown woman and therefore should know better, it is very rude to do that detka” Wanda’s bravado flew out the window when you rounded the table and held your hand around her throat
“I am here because I was asked to be here, someone paid me a lot of money to kill you slowly and painfully, whoever you pissed off really wants you to suffer and I mean really suffer, the list of things they want me to do is endless”
You eased off the tension on her neck and lent forward kissing her cheek “I like your face, such a shame I have to cut it up, they want picture proof of your death”
Wanda was wavering she was scared, she knew what you did and she knew you did it damn well and left no trace “okay Y/n let’s just calm down, please tell me who put the hit out on me”
Your lips stayed close to her and moved towards her neck kissing her there smiling at the shaky breath she released “I can’t disclose client information Wanda, but it’s someone you know, and from how they speak, someone who’s seen your body in a way that I can only dream of and trust me I do dream of it”
You pushed Wanda gently into the counter leaning into her “how do you dream of me?”
“Oh? I dream of you in the filthiest and most depraved ways, none that I’m willing to discuss here of course but just know that I everytime I kill someone and their blood spills onto me I imagine it’s yours”
“That…that doesn’t sound very sexy”
You smirked letting your hand rest on her hip and the other next to her head “it is when I’m imagining I’m buried deep inside of you cutting up your pretty body-
“Y/n! Have you done yet? We are needed back” Yelena casually walked into the house disturbing your clearly romantic moment with Wanda “I’m in the middle of something Yel”
The blonde scoffed looking at Wanda “yes I can see, she looks terrified, or aroused maybe both”
You glanced down at Wanda “aroused, I can feel how wet she is- Wanda quickly pushed you away at that and you laughed “aw princess are you embarrassed? Its okay I’m glad my intimidation tactics get you this aroused”
Just then Natasha entered angry as ever “Davayte zhe teper'!” She didn’t care what was happening just that you three needed to leave before people started to turn up for them
“Yeah yeah whatever Nat we’re coming” you kissed Wanda on the nose leaving her speechless and still “lovely time we’ve had here princess but I’m needed elsewhere, enjoy your dinner and I’ll see you soon”
The trio left without another word and Wanda sank to the floor controlling her breathing “why is she obsessed with me”
**************************************************
“Why are you obsessed with Wanda?” Yelena poked at you while in the car “she’s hot” you said but the blonde just laughed “I’ve seen you with women you find “hot” and it wasn’t that with Wanda, I think you really like her and want to make babies”
You scrunched up your nose and slapped Yel on the arm “we’re two women idiot, and no matter how hard I’d try I don’t think I could get Wanda pregnant, but god I’d give it a damn good go”
You looked out of the car window admiring the views that Nat drove past, actually you didn’t recognise where you were, weren’t you going back to the house?
“Natty I don’t know if you hit your head back there but I don’t recognise where we are”
The redhead shrugged in the front seat “you need to lie low for a while, you’ve been too careless”
You scoffed “don’t be so fucking ridiculous Natalia I’m good at my job and I’ve never let any personal feelings affect it” you defended
Nat slammed on the breaks sending you near enough through the seat and beyond “fucking hell Nat are you on your period or something?”
“You know we don’t get our periods der'mo” Yelena piped up but you both ignored her “last week you spent 4 hours watching Wanda, you watched her eat dinner, watched her drink wine and then even watched her sleep with a man”
You rolled your eyes at that “yeah all of 4 minutes of that man basically humping poor Wanda and her faking an orgasm”
Yelena was intrigued “wait, how do you know she faked an orgasm?”
You patted poor young innocent Yelena on the back “oh my sweet little Yelena, it was in the way she only shuddered slightly when the man whispered he’s close and then immediately said she came afterwords, he left soon after then she picked out her favourite red vibrator placed it against her sweet-
“Stop! I’ve had enough Y/n let’s just go home and sleep okay, I’m sorry I was so angry but it’s been a rough day”
You kissed Nat on the cheek “it’s okay detka you’re our favourite little black widow, very spicy and dangerous”
Nat sighed and gave a small smile “okay let’s not get all mushy, just stay away from Wanda okay?”
You shrugged “well someone still gave a hit out on her, so I’ll have to see her sooner or later again”
*************************************************
You said you’d stay away from Wanda for a little bit but you couldn’t help it, you found yourself back at Wanda’s house waiting for her in her bedroom, an open window offered you a perfect entry to the room
Wanda jumped back when she entered her bedroom obviously not expecting you “Y/n what the fuck?!”
You smiled wide “hi Wanda, I’m sorry I couldn’t stay away, I still technically need to kill you you know”
Her face fell and she started to step back but you stopped her holding her wrist and pulling her close “don’t worry Wanda I don’t want to kill you yet, I want to enjoy you”
Wanda let herself be pulled into a hug, you wrapped both arms around her waist and kissed her shoulder “you’re so tense my love, did that man not make you cum again?”
Wanda pulled her head back looking at you “what do you mean?”
“I had to make sure you were being safe and when I saw that man humping you like a dog in heat it was heartbreaking, you deserve so much better”
Wanda pushed you away sitting on her bed with her head in her hands “I cannot believe you’ve been watching me have sex, that’s so fucking weird”
You shook your head sitting next to the redhead “no honey it’s not, I needed to watch you to make sure you were okay and as I said that man didn’t look after you, he didn’t treat you well enough, didn’t do any foreplay, didn’t even kiss you, how ridiculous!”
Wanda stood up from the bed and started pacing around the room “what the hell is wrong with you? Why are you obsessed me why do you watch me? And don’t say it’s because someone wants me dead, if you actually did your job I’d be dead already!”
Your eyes darkened, no one’s ever questioned your job before “I am successful in my work Wanda, I have never ever messed up a job and don’t you ever assume otherwise, I will kill you one day Wanda and when I do it’ll be so quick you won’t even realise until you’re stood in front god himself”
Wanda had backed up against the wall with you following her every step, you ended up pressed chest to chest with Wanda and loved every minute of it “well this is a nice position isn’t it?” You smiled, your demeanour changed from angry to soft way too quick for Wanda’s liking, but she was still slightly nervous
“Okay Y/n I’m sorry just, I’m just stressed that’s all”
“Stressed? Why is my pretty girl stressed?” You ran your fingers across her face and on her stress lines “don’t give yourself winkles my love, why are you stressed?”
Wanda sighed heavily giving in and just decided to tell you “the man-the one you’ve watched in my house, like a weirdo, he keeps texting me and stalking me at work, I didn’t call him back after the last time he came over and I think he’s mad about it”
You nodded along listening loosely while studying her face, she was gorgeous
“I see, he’s a bitch then, doesn’t deserve you, don’t worry Wanda I’ll deal with him” you pushed yourself away from Wanda who instantly missed your comfort surprisingly
“Wait where are you going?” She tried following you across the room to the door but you stopped her “I’ll be back later I promise”
“Are you going to hurt him?” She asked and you just smiled “I’ll be back pretty girl”
You left without another word and Wanda was sure she wouldn’t be hearing from Vision again.
********************************************
You decided to bring Yelena on your little trip, she was like a puppy, she needed to be taken out to kill at least 3 times a day or she’d starting biting the furniture and peeing on the carpet
“Are you sure this is okay? We’re assassins for hire not free killers”
“Not free killers? Didn’t you attack a guy because he tried touching that Kate girl?”
Yelena stopped in her tracks and widened her eyes “how do you know about that?!”
“You got drunk and told Nat and I when we were playing uno”
She rolled her eyes “anyway that was because she didn’t deserve to be treated like that”
“And that’s why I’m doing this for Wanda, she deserves better and that’s me clearly so by killing this guy I’m one step closer to that”
“Aren’t you meant to kill her?” You finally found the house you were looking for and saw the man with yet another woman he was sure to disappoint “I am but that doesn’t mean I can’t have fun, plus there’s no time limit on the request so I can take my time”
You and Yelena stood outside the front door deciding on how to approach the situation “so, sneak in or knock the door down and start shooting?”
You only responded with pulling your gun out and shooting the lock and kicking the door open
“Daddy’s home!” You stormed through the house and held the surprised man at gunpoint
Yelena walked through the door following you “just full on craziness then, okay”
“What the hell are you doing in my house?! Who are you??!” The moustached man was scared and you could tell, he was trying to act tough though in front of his lady friend, it’s okay though she isn’t the one you were here for
“White widow can you take this lovely lady out of here and make sure she gets home safely Spasibo”
Yelena nodded and offered the lady her hand which she took “we are quite sorry about the intrusion, I hope you forgive us”
The lady nodded taking Yelena’s hand “okay” you were glad she wasn’t in the mood for an argument, you didn’t want to kill two people “thank you Miss”
When the two women left you looked back at Vision “so why do you think I’m here?” You asked casually while still pointing the gun at him
“How the hell should I know?? Who are you?!” He was stressed and it nearly made you laugh “you’ve tried sleeping with Wanda maximoff twice, and both times you’ve never made her cum, you don’t deserve her”
The man was perplexed, how the hell did you know what he did with Wanda “how do you know I’ve slept with Wanda, did she tell you? And why do you care??”
You stepped close enough to him to press the gun against his chest “Wanda belongs to me, and watching you try and pathetically fail to fuck her was horrendous, and then for her to tell me you’ve been stalking her, what a pathetic excuse of a man you are”
He tried moving away but your gun pressed harder into his chest “you’re crazy, I’m pretty sure Wanda doesn’t belong to you”
You smiled “she does, she doesn’t know it yet but she definitely belongs to me, and you being a prick is slowing that process down so I do apologise but I have to kill you”
His face went white, all bravado flown out of the window and it made you giddy, you loved when they got like this, all scared, some wet themselves too but you hated that, totally killed the mood when that happened
“You can’t kill me! The police will find you” he was scrambling
“Well it’s been 10 years and I’ve yet to be caught yet so I don’t believe they’ll catch me for this”
“Okay but the gun will make a loud sound and the neighbours will get suspicious!”
“I’ve got a silencer dipshit, as I said I’ve done it for 10 years, I’m no amateur”
You pulled the trigger refusing to let him continue, the bullet went straight through his heart killing him instantly, you didn’t waste time standing around admiring your work instead calling a clean up crew
“Bucky, follow my location and clean up quickly and quietly” you hung up and left the house heading back to Wanda like you promised, she was going to be so happy you were sure of it.

Series Synopsis: A series of (mostly) unrelated one shots, featuring Oliver Aiku somehow getting involved with the love lives of various Blue Lock characters — whether he wants to or not.
Chapter Synopsis: Oliver Aiku isn’t sure which entity he’s wronged to earn this kind of treatment, but somehow, in the days before the match against Blue Lock, he’s stuck watching over the team’s newest addition: Sae Itoshi, a rude midfielder who’d rather be in Spain (or in hell) than hanging out with him. Things get a little more complicated, though, when a cup of shitty coffee leads to a crush and Aiku is forced to intervene.
Series Masterlist
Pairing: Sae x Reader
Chapter Word Count: 7.9k
Content Warnings: crack fic, sae my awkward goat, love at first sight, oliver aiku is such a bitch but he’s funny so it’s kind of okay, reader has to work in customer service 😓, this is really dumb please don’t judge my writing off of it, sae is 100% ooc don’t come at me i KNOWWW, split perspectives (it makes sense in the story), sae slander (from aiku), reader is a fan girl but she keeps it 𝖓𝖔𝖓𝖈𝖍𝖆𝖑𝖆𝖓𝖙, reader’s dad has cameos but he’s just chilling tbh
A/N: the people wanted sae’s version to be posted first so uhhh here we are!! LMAO it kind of got a bit long (as usual) but it’s very silly and goofy!! anyways so this is the first entry in “oliver aiku’s guide to getting girls” i hope you all stick around for the rest 🤩‼️
Oliver Aiku likes to think he’s a fairly nice guy. He visits his grandmother every weekend, he rescues kittens from gutters (okay, it only happened once, but he still did it, so it counts), and he’s good enough at being captain of the Japanese U-20s that none of his teammates really hate him, so all in all, he can’t be doing that bad of a job. Yeah, he’s pretty sure he’s a great person, a stand-up fellow, an upstanding member of society — so why the fuck is Sae Itoshi glaring at him like that?
“What?” he says, because it was fine for the first, say, twenty minutes or so, but now it’s gone from annoying to just plain concerning. “Something going on with you?”
Sae stares at him for a moment longer, and Aiku wonders if he’s trying to communicate via telepathy. That’s a skill he’s never picked up, though, so he can only wait for Sae to speak up, which, thankfully, he eventually does.
“This coffee is shit,” he says. The way he speaks is dull and blank, his lips pinched together and his brows low over his eyes. It’s kind of a shame, in Aiku’s highly professional opinion. He’d be handsome if he smiled more; or, if not handsome, at least approachable enough to not scare away every single girl that dared to even glance at him.
“It’s not my fault,” Aiku says. “Take it up with the barista or something.”
“You’re the one who brought me here, so it is your fault,” Sae says. Aiku crosses his arms, because isn’t Sae younger than him? This feels like a level of disrespect he shouldn’t tolerate, prodigy or not.
“Nuh-uh,” he says. In hindsight, it’s not the most mature response he could’ve come up with, and Sae seems to agree, snorting derisively before using a napkin to dab at a drip of coffee running down the side of his cup.
“What a captain,” he says with a sigh. “No wonder you guys need me to play for you against those Blue Lock idiots.”
Aiku should be offended, he really should be — and he is! He is, and he’s just about to muster up some scathing retort that’ll definitely leave Sae Itoshi trembling, but then Sae’s standing up with purpose, so now he’s just intrigued instead of insulted. He follows after him as Sae holds the coffee in one hand and marches towards the counter, and when he realizes what’s about to happen, he preemptively cringes.
“Don’t yell at service workers!” Aiku says. It would’ve been heroic if he had said it loud enough for Sae to hear him, but unfortunately, it’s more of a whisper than the brave shout he had intended for it to be, so he just looks kind of stupid, as if he regularly talks to himself or something.
“Hey,” Sae says to the boy at the counter. He’s young, probably no more than fifteen or sixteen, and Aiku prays that he’s not the target of Sae’s ire. “Who made this?”
The boy squints at Sae’s cup, reading the receipt, and then he smiles innocently. “That was Y/N. Did you want to talk to her?”
“Yes,” Sae says bluntly. Aiku is about to thank whichever deity was watching over him and that boy alike, but he pauses when the rest of the kid’s statement registers. Her? Her? Is Sae seriously about to yell at a girl for making bad coffee? If she’s hot, he’ll kill Sae, no doubt about it. “And tell her to make it quick. We don’t have all day, and she’s already wasted enough of our time.”
Yeah, he’s definitely going to kill him.
“Y/N,” a voice whispers. You’re untying your apron — your shift is just about over, and you’re ready to clock out, but for some reason your young coworker is peering into the kitchen nervously and gesturing for you to come with him. Normally, you’d tell him to handle things himself, but he’s new, so you decide to be responsible for once and follow after him, muttering curses to yourself as you retie your apron.
“What’s the matter? Did you spill something?” you say. He shakes his head, raising his hand and pointing at the counter, where two customers are waiting. You frown, because you’re pretty sure you already gave them their drinks, so there’s no reason for them to be standing there, unless maybe they want to reorder. “Wait. Did you call me to take their order? No way! My shift is over in thirty seconds!”
“No, no, I didn’t,” your coworker says. “They want to talk to you.”
“Me? Like me, specifically?” you say. He nods.
“Yeah, they asked for you by name and everything,” he says earnestly. “I think they’re mad, though.”
You pinch the bridge of your nose, because the last thing you want to do is deal with a couple of prissy customers, especially not when you’re supposed to be heading home already. However, your coworker seems to be on the verge of tears, and some kind of sisterly affection tugs at your heartstrings, so you pat him on the shoulder and take his spot at the counter.
“Hi, this is Y/N. My coworker told me you needed to see me. How can I help you?” you say. Your voice is chipper and your smile is false, but they don’t need to know that. You’ve been working at the coffee shop for long enough that you’re practiced at pretending, and you know for a fact that your coworker is standing shyly at your side, probably astonished by the quality of your performance.
For a moment, neither man speaks, so you get to stare at them and make your own assumptions about who they are and what their backstories might be. It’s kind of like a hobby, a pastime for when things are slow or you’re generally annoyed about your job. You’ve developed it over the years, and luckily, these two are prime candidates for the game.
The one on the left is tall and broad, with dark hair and mysterious eyes. Curiously, one is a bright green, while the other is a softer violet, and there’s a few-days-old stubble growing on his square face, like a shadow running along his jaw. It gives him a rough appearance, like he owns a motorcycle and frequently wears leather jackets, but you want to believe that he’s gentle at heart. Maybe he has a fondness for baby animals or he likes to bake cookies or something along those lines.
The one on the right is shorter than his counterpart, and his hair is red like a sunset, pushed carelessly out of his haughty face. He’s wearing a sweater that matches his eyes, though the teal of the knitted fabric is much more muted, and you’re about to come up with some kind of fantastical explanation for who he might be when you realize that you know him.
He clears his throat, and you scramble to stand up straighter, internally screaming, because what are the odds that you’ve somehow managed to piss off the star player of your favorite soccer club’s youth team? You wonder what your father will think of you now. You wonder what you think of yourself now. What should you do? Should you tell him you recognize him? Ask for an autograph? Or should you play it cool and pretend like you don’t know him? What if he yells at you?
Actually, you wouldn’t mind it as much as normally do. When everyday customers start screaming at you for some perceived wrong that you’ve supposedly committed, you typically tune them out, and then you make fun of them with your coworkers in the back, but if it’s Sae Itoshi…well. you’ll certainly listen to every word he says, and when you return to the kitchen, you’ll write them down somewhere so you can remember the moment forever.
“He didn’t like his drink,” he says, pointing at the dark haired man.
“What?” the man shrieks. The pitch is higher than you would’ve expected from someone of his size, but it appears he realizes that, too, because then he’s coughing. “I mean, what? What are you talking about?”
“You were just complaining, Aiku,” Sae says. “You even made me come up here and get mad at this girl for you.”
The other man, who you guess is named Aiku, is turning a strange shade between magenta and beet-red, and you’re surprised there isn’t steam coming out of his ears. Given that you don’t really care about him that much, you’re instantly irritated again, because why would it matter if he didn’t like his drink? Still, you have to keep up appearances.
“My apologies, sir. Is there anything I can do to make it up to you?” you say.
“No!” Aiku says. “No, it’s — hey, Sae, you were the one who was all upset, so why are you putting it on me?”
“Hm?” Sae says, obviously uninterested in the conversation already. “I dunno. Maybe it happened like that, or maybe not.”
“I’m sorry,” you say again, more than a little bewildered. “Ah, I’m new here, so I’m still learning.”
Aiku, who has returned to a more normal and human color, smiles at you kindly, and he’s about to respond, ostensibly to reassure you, but then your damned coworker pipes up: “No, she’s not.”
“Ah, sorry?” Aiku says.
“She’s not new,” your coworker says again.
“‘New’ is a subjective term,” you say mechanically, wishing that it was acceptable for you to turn around and hit him in public whenever you wanted.
“I don’t think anyone would consider you to be new when you’ve been working here for three years,” your coworker says. You can imagine the innocent, guileless expression on his face right now. You want to do something violent to it.
“Ha, ha,” you say. You think your eye might twitch, too, but if Aiku or Sae notice, then neither of them point it out. “What a knowledgeable fellow we have back here.”
“It’s alright,” Aiku says. “I didn’t mind the drink. Sae’s the one who threw a fit about it.”
“I liked it,” Sae says stubbornly. “It was fine.”
You step in before Aiku can turn magenta again, because that’s probably unhealthy for him, and you don’t want to be held liable for a customer dying on your watch when you’re not even being paid for it.
“Anyways, is that all? I’m actually done with my shift, so if you guys don’t need anything else…” you trail off, though inside you’re screaming something along the lines of Sae Itoshi, please notice me and give me your autograph and oh, if you could fall in love with me, too, that would be amazing!
Of course, you can’t verbalize anything like that, so you just smile and wave until the door slams shut behind them. Then you’re yanking your apron off and balling it up before chucking it at your coworker’s face. It hits him in the nose and slides to the ground; he gives you an offended look before picking it up.
“You’re lucky it was only an apron,” you say. “You owe me big time, you little shit.”
“Huh?” he says.
“I won’t forget this!” you warn him, stomping towards the small locker room, where your precious phone is waiting for you. “You’re a major-league jerk, okay? Don’t ever ask me to cover another shift for you again!”
“Huh?”
“What the hell was that?” Aiku snaps as soon as they’ve left the cafe, because this is totally not what he was expecting when his coach told him that he had to treat Sae nicely and make him feel welcome.
“What was what?” Sae says. He’s sipping on his coffee sedately now, even though he was complaining about it only minutes earlier.
“Since when was I the one who was upset about my coffee?” Aiku says.
“I have a bad memory,” Sae deadpans. “I guess it could’ve been either of us.”
“That was not believable in the slightest,” Aiku feels the need to inform him. Judging by Sae’s expression, it wasn’t meant to be believable, though, and Aiku sighs. “Seriously, what’s your deal? You were just going crazy and glaring at me because you thought the coffee sucked, and now you think it’s good?”
“I should’ve waited for it to cool,” Sae says. “It’s better now. I was being hasty.”
“Uh-huh,” Aiku says. “Sure. Let’s do something else tomorrow. I don’t ever want to go back there. I don’t think I can face that girl again. She was so hot, too, and now she probably thinks I’m some ungrateful asshole…”
“I want to go back,” Sae says immediately, throwing the now-empty cup into the nearest trash can. Aiku furrows his brow at him, trying to puzzle out this latest contradiction and finding himself utterly unable to. “Tomorrow.”
“Tomorrow,” Aiku repeats dubiously. Tomorrow he has practice, and technically so does Sae. However, they both know that Sae doesn’t need anything as ridiculous as practice in order to win against a team of eleven high-school forwards, and he’s fairly confident that his coach will tell him to accompany the bratty Itoshi instead of showing up, since the JFU is pulling out all of the stops if it means getting Sae to stay in Japan for good.
“Tomorrow,” Sae reaffirms.
I’m a nice guy, Aiku tries to remind himself. This is what nice guys do. I’m boosting team morale. Yeah. That’s all. Captain’s duties.
Still, as he chases after Sae, who apparently doesn’t know what the word ‘stroll’ means and prefers to do everything at a brisk pace more akin to a jog, he thinks that this entire ridiculous assignment feels more like a babysitter’s duties than anything.
“Are you serious?” your father says. In the background, the TV is playing a game between Re Al and Barcha, which is rather fitting.
“Deadly,” you say, untying the laces of your sneakers and putting them with the rest of your shoes. “It was actually him.”
“Sae Itoshi,” he says, shaking his head. “He’s back from Spain?”
“Seems like it,” you say, though now that he mentions it, you’re as confused as he is. Why is Sae Itoshi here instead of Madrid? You glance at the TV — Barcha has just scored, and the cameras are sweeping through the crowds, showing the excited fans cheering — and wonder if maybe he was fired or something. You doubt that that’s what happened; after all, he’s a consistent player, and the last time he was in a match, he even managed to outmaneuver that freaky striker who plays for Bastard München, so it would make zero sense for Re Al to let him go. Besides, even if they did, you’re sure there’s dozens of clubs that would be willing to take him, so there must be another reason for his presence in Japan.
“Huh,” your father says. “Well. Good for him.”
“I guess so,” you say. “If I ever see him again, I’ll ask him what he’s doing in town.”
Your father chuckles, taking a sip of his beer and giving you a thumbs up. “Yeah, you do that. Let me know what he says.”
You laugh, too, sitting down at the counter and eating a plate of reheated leftovers, because you know as well as your father that the idea of you ever seeing Sae Itoshi again is more than a little far-fetched. But it’s a nice thought, and anyways the chances are never zero, so for the moment, you allow yourself to imagine.
Aiku is seriously questioning if Sae Itoshi was sent to this earth — or at least to this country — as some kind of punishment for him. He’s not really sure what’s done that would invite such cosmic retribution, but maybe it’s one of those…what did that girl call them? Karmic debts? She had said something about the sins of his past life and all, though he can’t recall the specifics.
Wait. That’s wrong. He just never learnt them in the first place, so how could he remember them in the first place? He had broken up with her before she could explain her theories to him. This prompts a wince from him, which is further fueled by the way his t-shirt sticks to his back with sweat. It’s a distinctively uncomfortable feeling, and he’s contemplating complaining, even though it probably won’t do much.
“Shut up,” Sae says.
“I didn’t say anything!” Aiku protests, more than a little spooked, since he actually had been about to say something before Sae had cut him off.
“I can see you making faces at me,” Sae says. Considering Sae is walking ahead of him and to the side, Aiku’s not quite sure how he could tell anything about what sorts of faces Aiku is making, but unfortunately, he’s uncannily correct as always, so Aiku schools his expression into a smooth, neutral one that won’t beget reprimand from his companion.
“I can’t believe you insisted on going here straight after practice,” he says.
“This is the same time we went yesterday,” Sae says. He’s kind of an insufferable smart-ass, Aiku thinks to himself, though he’d never say as much to Sae’s face. After all, unlike his counterpart, he’s considerate like that, and he always has been.
“So? We didn’t have practice yesterday,” Aiku says. “You couldn’t even let me shower?”
“You take forever in the showers,” Sae says. This is rich, for Sae is notoriously obsessive with his skincare, and of the entire team, he takes far and away the longest to get ready. But, then again, Aiku supposes that idiocy is one of those illnesses which spreads further and further until all of one’s perspectives are tainted with the virus.
“I could’ve been quick,” he says. “It would’ve been better if I could’ve at least rinsed off so I didn’t look so gross. I want to impress that Y/N girl if she’s there again today.”
“You’re not her type,” Sae says dismissively. “So why bother?”
“How do you know? Are the two of you childhood buddies or something?” Aiku says. Sae glances at him, and of course he’s way too holier-than-thou to properly sneer, but the corners of his lips turn downwards to the same effect.
“Not too hard to figure out,” he says.
“Well, hold on just a moment! I got the vibe that she was totally into me yesterday!” Aiku says. He actually did not get any such vibes from the barista; the only thing she seemed into was clocking out, but he’s Oliver Aiku. If he can’t get a girl, he can’t do anything. Besides, it’s not like Sae would be able to tell one way or another — Aiku and his teammate Sendou have a theory that Sae was created in a lab as some kind of experiment to make the world’s best midfielder, because the guy really doesn’t have any knowledge or concern for anything that’s unrelated to soccer.
True to form, Sae blinks unsurely. “Really?”
“Yeah, one hundred percent,” Aiku boasts, although then he’s narrowing his eyes, because such a question is so out of Sae’s character that for a moment, he wonders if there’s been a mistake and he’s actually taken some other team member of his along for this ridiculous errand.
Messy red hair. Teal eyes. Forehead creased with a frown. No, it’s definitely Sae Itoshi, that’s for sure. Just Sae Itoshi in a mood that he’s never seen before. If they were a little closer, he’d ask him what’s the big deal now, but as it is, the question would probably go unappreciated.
“Hm,” Sae says. “Whatever. We’ll see.”
“Sure,” Aiku says slowly, reaching out to hold open the door of the cafe so he can enter behind Sae, since his lovely, amazing, wonderful, kindhearted teammate so generously left it to slam shut in his face.
What a total dick. He makes a mental note to ask the JFU for a raise, because whatever they’re giving him at the moment is definitely not enough.
“They’re back again!” your coworker says. You’re still mad at him for yesterday, so you’ve been giving him the silent treatment the entire shift. It hasn’t gone unnoticed, but his pitiful attempts at reconciliation never include an apology, so you haven’t budged yet.
He waits for you to respond, but you’re pretty sure he’s making stuff up to get you to pay attention to him, and anyways they could be in reference to anyone, so you continue to pour milk into a cup, acting like it’s an all-consuming task which you cannot possibly complete without the utmost of concentration.
“I’m being serious! Y/N, it’s Sae Itoshi and, uh, that other dude!” he says. Your hand wobbles for the briefest moment, but you conclude that he’s most likely lying, so you steady yourself and continue pouring the milk. Fine, be that way! I’ll serve them myself!”
You can’t even say something snarky in response, because that’ll still be a win on his part, so you huff particularly loudly to no one in particular and leave it at that.
A few minutes later, he’s back, looking so contrite that if you weren’t upset with him, you’d actually be worried. Unfortunately, you very much are upset with him, so you find it on the whole to be rather hilarious and have to suppress a laugh.
He must take your amusement as a signal to talk, because he speaks eagerly and quickly, stumbling over his words and clasping his hands together in front of him.
“Y/N, Y/N, they’re insisting on seeing you, I told them you’re working right now — I’m sorry, I’m not supposed to do that, right? But I did, and now they really want to see you!” he says.
You’re still not entirely convinced, but if this is an act, then it’s a dedicated one, and you don’t think that he possesses that much dedication in all of his body, so maybe he’s actually telling the truth.
“Fine,” you say. “But if you’re lying, I swear I’m telling our manager to fire you.”
“I’m not!” he squeaks, darting back to the counter, rocking back and forth on his heels as he waits for you to catch up to him.
When you reach the front, you’re surprised to see that it is in fact Sae Itoshi and…whoever that other guy is. Aiku? Yes, that sounds right. It’s Sae and Aiku, and one looks supremely inconvenienced — this would be Sae, of course — while his friend is running a hand through his sweaty hair, flashing you a grin.
You smile back at him, because that’s what you’re trained to do, and you don’t want your coworker to tattle to your manager that you’re not abiding by the cafe’s standards of customer service. Then you stare at them until one of them starts speaking, because that’s what your entire job is, and no matter how badly you want to start gushing to Sae Itoshi about how big of a fan you are, you have to remain professional.
“Is there anything I can do for you two?” you finally say. This prompts Aiku to nod, nudging Sae in the side, which earns him a dark glare.
“I want the number two, and he’ll take the number five,” Aiku says when Sae does not speak up. You want to tell him that nobody orders like that, but you’re not supposed to and it’s really not that big of a deal either way, so you just ring up the order.
“Sounds good. Would you like to pay with cash or credit?” you say.
“Credit,” Sae says, pulling out a card that probably has a monthly spending limit higher than what you make in a year. “And we’re splitting the bill, just so you know.”
What you want to say is Wow, Sae, you’re somehow even cooler in real-life! Who’s your favorite soccer player? What’s your favorite food? Do you like Spain better, or here? What you actually say is: “No problem. I’ll have those right out for you.”
“Thanks,” Aiku says. He’s kind of charming, in a sense; you can think of several friends you have that would probably swoon at the way his smile stretches across his face, but you don’t really see the appeal. Or, maybe you would normally, but at the moment, he’s standing next to Sae Itoshi, so it’s a little hard to focus on him at all.
“Yeah,” Sae says. “Thank you. Y/N.”
He’s probably just reading off of your name tag in an effort to seem more friendly and relatable and humble and all. It’s a classic PR move that he was probably taught as soon as he joined Re Al. You know about it, though, so it shouldn’t work on you. It won’t work on you. He’s just doing what he’s trained to, the same as you are.
It works on you. You run to the back and hide your face in your hands and squeal, because Sae fucking Itoshi just said your name.
“Holy fucking shit,” Aiku says.
“Are we just listing curse words now?” Sae says dryly. “Bitch, cunt, hell. There’s three more for you.”
“You like the barista!” Aiku accuses. If Sae was drinking something, he would’ve spit it out just then, but he’s not, so he just chokes on his saliva.
“No way,” he says.
“Yes, you do! How else can you explain this?” Aiku says, pitching his voice up in an imitation of Sae’s. “Yeah. Thank you. Y/N. Since when do you say thank you to people?”
“Since always? I have manners,” Sae says.
“I’ve never heard you say it,” Aiku says.
“Maybe that’s more telling about you than me,” Sae suggests. Aiku scowls at him.
“You definitely like her,” he says. “No judgment here, man. She’s pretty.”
“Whatever,” Sae says. “Even if I did like her — mind you, I don’t — she’s clearly into you.”
“Me?” Aiku says. “I was just messing with you earlier, you know. Anyways, yeah, I think she’s hot, but, like, you’ve never liked a girl before, right? So I wouldn’t get in the way of that. This is a big step.”
“You’re not getting in the way of anything. Do what you want,” Sae says.
Aiku’s already pulling out his phone and texting Sendou: big news. Lab experiment just evolved. Feels attraction and jealousy now.
“Uh-huh,” he responds absentmindedly. Sendou texts back with about fifty mind-blown emojis, and he snickers to himself, liking the message.
“Anyways, who told you I’ve never liked anyone before?” Sae says defensively. Aiku just about drops his phone, leaning forwards in interest. Could it be? Are he and Sae actually bonding? Is Sae about to tell him about his first love — who apparently is not this barista?
“I just guessed. Was I wrong?” Aiku says. He’s already trying to come up with who Sae might’ve liked — a childhood neighbor or friend? A women’s soccer player he admired? A girl he saw once in Spain but never again? Oh, that last one is particularly romantic…he’s just about accepted it as fact when Sae glares at him.
“No,” he says. Aiku’s dreams are shattered in an instant, but he can only shake his head while chuckling, both because Sae has inadvertently admitted that he actually does like that Y/N girl, and because he was an idiot for believing that ‘Sae Itoshi’ and ‘romantic’ could ever belong together in one sentence.
“Yeah, that’s what I thought.”
“What do I do?” you say. You and your coworker are back on speaking terms, mostly because you have no one else to talk to and are so desperate that you’re willing to temporarily forgive him.
“Make their drinks?” he says. You give him a dirty look as you begin mixing up their orders.
“Not about that. I’m such a huge fan of Sae’s, and this is the second time I’m making a drink for him. It’s kind of like fate, don’t you think? Should I try to talk to him or something?” you say.
“Do you want to?” your coworker says. It’s a slower time of day, so he has nothing to do but sit and watch you — at least, nothing immediate. There’s certainly things he could be doing, but you’re not about to chide him when you’re the reason he’s slacking off.
“Obviously! But what am I supposed to even say? I’ll sound like a creep if I just start acting like a fan-girl!” you say.
“That’s true,” your coworker says. “You kind of sound like one even now…”
“Ugh, if you’re not going to be helpful, then go organize the storeroom or something!”
“What about her makes you like her?” Aiku presses.
“Are we still on this?” Sae says, as if they’ve been talking about it for hours. “I don’t like her.”
“It’s not like you talked to her for a while…was it really just her looks?” Aiku says. “Damn. Didn’t think you were the shallow type.”
“I am not the shallow type!” Sae says.
“That sounds like something that a shallow person would say,” Aiku teases.
“Shut up,” Sae says. Aiku doesn’t have enough fingers or toes to count how many times Sae’s said that particular phrase to him. Maybe if he counted all of the fingers and all of the toes of every single person in the world, he would get kind of close to what that number might be. “I’m not shallow, I don’t like her, and she’s obviously way more interested in talking to you than me, so get off my back.”
Aiku whistles. “Someone’s jealous.”
“I’m telling the JFU that you were the one who sent me back to Spain,” Sae informs him bluntly. Aiku isn’t sure if that’s a joke or a legitimate threat. It’s hard to tell with Sae sometimes.
“Are you serious?” Aiku says.
“Deadly,” Sae says.
Yep, Aiku decides. He’s serious.
“If only that Aiku dude wasn’t there,” you lament, setting the first drink in the pick-up area and calling out Aiku’s name before returning to finish Sae’s drink. “It’d be way easier to talk to Sae without someone there to judge everything I’m saying.”
“Do you think he’d even care?” your coworker says. You shrug.
“No idea. It’s intimidating to talk to guys around their friends, though. You’re a guy yourself, so you wouldn’t get it,” you say.
“Are they even friends?” your coworker says. “Doesn’t seem like they get along that well.”
In unison, the two of you turn so you can look at the duo, who are sitting at a table right within your line of sight. As your coworker said, they don’t look like they’re friends in the slightest. Aiku is sipping on his drink with a smirk, and Sae looks like he’d rather be anywhere else, doing anything else, than be sitting there with his not-friend.
“The point still stands,” you say.
“Guess so,” your coworker says. Just then, Sae Itoshi happens to glance over, making direct eye contact with you. Your eyebrows raise, and your face warms as you realize you’ve been caught. Aiku turns to follow Sae’s line of sight as you weigh your options. Should you pretend like you weren’t doing anything? Should you wave?
You decide to just smile again before returning to the drink you were supposed to be working on. Your coworker, who saw the entire exchange, cannot stop laughing.
“It’s over for you,” he says. “He definitely thinks you’re a creepy fan-girl now. You can kiss that autograph goodbye.”
“You’re lucky I’m too lazy to remake this drink,” you say. “Because otherwise, I’d spill it on you.”
“That’s against company policy,” he says.
“By accident, of course,” you say with a malicious grin.
“That’s against company policy, too!”
“Look, she just smiled at you. I bet she was looking at you the entire time,” Sae says coolly. “You should ask for her number. You already said you think she’s beautiful.”
“I said she’s hot. I’m not all poetic and shit like that,” Aiku says. “And I wouldn’t do that. It’s against the bro code.”
“We’re not ‘bros’, so you can put that out of your head,” Sae says.
“What if I help you get her number?” Aiku says. Sae tries very hard to maintain his nonchalant look, but Aiku can tell that his curiosity has been piqued. “Will you consider me a bro then? At the minimum, will you tell the JFU that I’ve done a great job at showing you around and making you feel welcome?”
Please please please please please I really need a fucking raise Sae I’m broke please please please —
“Sure,” Sae says.
“Sure?” Aiku says. “Yes! Okay, this will be easy.”
Sae scoffs. “Yeah, okay. If that’s what you think.”
“Believe me,” Aiku says. “You’re in the presence of a master.”
Sae doesn’t even dignify that with a response beyond the most disgusted look Aiku has ever seen on anyone, Sae or not. He’d say something, but he’s pretty sure he deserves it at least a little, and anyways a possible raise is way more important to him than being right, so he keeps his mouth shut, simply giving Sae a double-thumbs-up. He’s going to ace this new assignment, and then maybe he’ll actually be paid what he’s worth instead of pennies on the dime.
You’re about to call out Sae’s name when you realize that for some reason, both Aiku and Sae are standing there and waiting for you. You furrow your brow, because it’s both a menacing and a comical sight — the hulking Aiku, who looks like he’s about to go punch a criminal on television before flipping his hair and telling the ladies that there’s enough of him to go around, and the slender Sae Itoshi, who you can’t imagine doing anything but slamming a winning pass to one of his teammates, invariably leading to a soccer ball in his opponent’s net.
“Uh, hello,” you say.
“Hello,” Aiku says.
“Hi,” Sae says.
“I have your drink,” you say to Sae.
“I know,” he says, taking it from your hand. Of course — why else would they be here? They must’ve seen you finishing up the drink and rightly assumed that it was theirs.
“Right,” you say. Neither of them go to leave, and now you wonder if they just don’t understand social cues or something like that. “Did you guys want to order something else? My coworker would be happy to take you at the counter.”
“No,” Sae says.
“Okay,” you say slowly. “Well, I hope you enjoy your drinks.”
“We will,” Sae says with the utmost of confidence. Aiku groans and then thumps him on the back. You have a feeling you probably don’t want to know what the significance of the gesture is, but then you realize that this is probably the only chance you’ll get to have a proper conversation with Sae Itoshi, so you shove your concerns aside.
“Wait! If it doesn’t bother you too much, can I ask you a question?” you say. It’s an incredibly awkward way of going about it, but given how awkward this entire interaction has been, you don’t think it’s a huge deal.
“Go ahead,” Aiku says. You weren’t asking him, but you guess the permission covers them both, so you square your shoulders and face Sae Itoshi, who seems entirely confused that you’re looking at him instead of Aiku. You’re not sure why he would be, since between the two of them he’s the celebrity, but maybe there’s some weird dynamic going on that you’re unaware of.
It doesn’t matter to you, though. You only have one thing to ask. You’ll never cross paths with Sae again, will you? So it’s fine. You can act a little embarrassing, and anyways, you barely make above minimum wage, so if your manager gets too upset and fires you for ‘unprofessional conduct’ or something, it won’t be a huge loss. It’ll be worth it, even, considering this is a once-in-a-lifetime chance and your coworker is busy reorganizing the storeroom like you told him to, so he’s not around to spy on you and report back to your stodgy old manager.
Taking a deep breath, you open your mouth and begin to speak.
Aiku hadn’t dared to even dream of the possibility that the barista might already like Sae, too. Why would she? Sae had just been all weird and rude to her in the couple of times that they had spoken, so all in all she’d have to be somewhat of a masochist, or a Re Al fan (which was essentially the same thing, given the losing streak that Re Al had been on for the last month or so), to be into him. But sometimes miracles did happen and baristas were masochists, because the girl was turning to Sae with shimmering eyes and a hopeful expression and it was all going to go so well—
“What are you even doing in Japan in the first place?”
Did he hear her right? Sae is bewildered as well, but Y/N isn’t acting like she’s just asked the most ridiculous question she could’ve possibly asked. What is Sae doing in Japan? Well, he happens to be a citizen of the nation, so there’s one explanation…Aiku wants to facepalm, because now his plans have been ruined and Sae’s confidence has probably been crushed.
“Pardon?” Sae says. Aiku had told him not to act so cranky and old-man-ish when he approaches the girl, but honestly, at this point, there’s no helping him, so he doesn’t even bother with a correction.
“Why are you in Japan?” she says again, all bright and innocent and cheery. It somehow feels like she’s been faking things so far, and that this is the real her, which she’s been holding back up until this point. Aiku isn’t so sure if that’s a good thing; privately, he believes it would’ve been better if she kept holding back just a little bit longer. Long enough for her to reject Sae — who still claims he’s not into her and is just trying to ‘be friendly’, as if friendliness is something he’s well known for — and then move on with her day.
“My passport expired?” Sae says, phrasing it more like a question. “So I had to come back and get it renewed?”
His voice ticks up at the end of every sentence unsurely. It’s almost cute, like he’s a little baby chick. Aiku’s fond of chicks, so he decides he’ll step in. Just this once.
“He’s visiting from Spain to play for the Japanese U-20 team in an upcoming exhibition match,” he explains.
“Oh, wow,” she says. “But I thought you said you would rather give up on soccer or play with German college kids than ever play soccer for Japan?”
Aiku raises an eyebrow. He wasn’t aware of such sentiments, and though he’s not exactly shocked, he can’t help feeling a bit miffed. When he glances over at Sae, there’s not a trace of remorse on his face, and so he wrinkles his nose.
Forget the raise and the baby-chick-esque mannerisms alike. He’s done helping this ungrateful, no-good, lame-as-hell, girl-repelling loser for free. If Sae wants any further assistance, he’ll have to beg for it.
“How did you know I said that?” Sae says. You clap your hand over your mouth when you realize you’ve exposed yourself.
“I, um, I was just guessing!” you say.
“Guessing?” he repeats. You swear, because that’s actually a worse explanation than the original one, and then you hang your head, because if the cat’s out of the bag, then there’s no way you can put it back in.
“It’s a quote from one of your interviews,” you mumble.
“What?” It’s Aiku, who immediately frowns when he realizes he’s butted in. Sae gives him an odd look out of the corner of his eye.
“I’m a big fan of yours,” you say. “The last game you played in, when you stole the ball from that Bastard München striker, was amazing! To tell you the truth, I’ve been trying to figure out why you’re in the area instead of back in Madrid. It’s a little unbelievable, you see.”
“Ah,” Sae says, and for some reason he looks uncomfortable. “Well. Yeah. It was just the issues with my passport and all. I decided to play for the U-20s because I was offered a good deal, but it’s right back to Madrid for me after that.”
“That makes sense,” you say. It’s awkward again, but in a different way. You don’t know what to say. You don’t think he does either. His drink is probably cold now, and you’re surprised that Aiku’s eyes aren’t stuck in the back of his head, given how frequently he’s been rolling them. “Can I have your autograph?”
“No,” Sae says immediately. You’re a little taken aback, and to be honest, he looks kind of horrified himself, but you know better than to nag, so you only nod at him.
“No worries—” you begin before you’re cut off by a grumbling Aiku.
“He’ll give you his number instead. Here,” Aiku says, listing off a series of digits too rapidly for you to remember. “He’ll write it down, for you, right, Sae?”
And then, to your utter disbelief, Sae Itoshi is pulling out a pen and a piece of paper from who knows where, and he’s humming in agreement.
“Right,” he says, and then he’s handing you a note with his phone number written on it in neat print and his signature in flowing cursive. “You can call me later. If you want. Y/N.”
The way he speaks is stilted and low, but you don’t mind it. Tucking the piece of paper into your apron pocket, you beam at him.
“Alright,” you say. “I’ll call you. I still have more things to ask you, so it’s good that you gave me this.”
“Yes,” Sae says. “Yes, you can do that if you’d like.”
Then he and Aiku are leaving the coffee shop, their drinks in hand, and you’re standing there in awe, wondering if that actually just happened or if it was nothing but a particularly vivid flight of fancy.
If it’s the latter, then you almost hope it’s one you don’t ever escape from.
“You’re welcome,” Aiku says as they leave the cafe.
“I didn’t say thank you, you lukewarm oaf,” Sae says. Aiku shrugs. He’s hard to ruffle, after all. It’s the reason why he stepped in and rescued Sae from that little mistake of his. He just couldn’t bear the thought of his dear junior losing the girl of his dreams because of a slip of his tongue, even if aforementioned junior is the insufferable smart-ass type.
Well, the thought of the money he’ll make if Sae speaks of him highly to the JFU doesn’t hurt, either, but that’s less altruistic, so he prefers to stick to the first explanation.
“I bet you feel it, though,” Aiku says.
“Shut up,” Sae says.
It’s a good thing babies are born every minute. Otherwise, given how frequently Sae says that particular phrase, Aiku really might run out of things to count on.
You’ve typed the number on the piece of paper into your phone, and now you’re staring at it blankly, wondering if you should press the green call button. What if it was a prank? What if it wasn’t? Because then you’ll have to actually talk to Sae Itoshi, and you’re not so sure you can do that.
In a fit of inspiration, you slam your index finger against your screen and hold your phone up to your ear. It rings a couple of times, each subsequent one worsening the pit in your stomach, but then it stops ringing entirely, which can only mean one thing: Sae, if this really is his number, has answered.
“Hello?” you say.
“Hello?” he responds. “Y/N?”
“Yes!” you say. “It’s me. Y/N. Like you said.”
“Cool,” he says. “It’s Sae. Which I guess you knew, since you called me.”
“The confirmation was nice,” you say, internally sighing in relief. “Thanks.”
“You’re welcome,” he says. It’s mannerly but also a little sarcastic, albeit not in a mean way. You don’t mind it much. “You said you had to ask me some things?”
The two of you spend the next few minutes in a setting kind of like an interview, in that you drill him with questions and he answers them all patiently. He’s kind about it, humoring you even though he doesn’t have to, and he never threatens to hang up, which you do appreciate.
“Would you mind if I ask a question, too?” he says when you’ve taken a break to drink some water.
“Go ahead! Although I’m not as interesting as you are,” you say.
“I think you’re probably way more interesting,” he admits. “Anyways. Are you free next weekend?”
“Uh, I think I have a shift on Saturday, but to be honest, my coworker owes me, so he can cover it. Why?” you say.
“The exhibition game that I’m playing with the U-20s for. You should come watch,” he says.
“Oh! Sure, where should I get tickets? I’d have gotten them already if I knew you were playing,” you say.
“I’m allowed to invite someone,” he says. “Friends or family. So I’m inviting you.”
“Don’t you have actual friends that you can invite?” you say before gasping. “Sorry! Sorry, that was super insensitive and rude of me. Of course I’m honored to come, I’m just confused about why I’m the one you’re inviting. Me. I’ve literally made coffee for you twice, and that’s about it.”
“Yeah, that’s true,” he says before pausing. “Um, look, Aiku told me to say this, so if it’s uncomfortable, then blame him…but I think you’re, er, beautiful?”
Your mind short-circuits. “Huh?”
“I don’t know! He’s the one who has experience, I’m just taking his advice!” Sae says, his tone souring immediately afterwards. “Trust me, it’s not like I want to. There’s many things I’d rather do than follow Oliver Aiku’s advice, but at the moment, it’s the best I can do.”
“Beautiful,” you repeat. It’s such an elegant adjective. You’ve been called pretty before, and there’s been a fair share of guys who have considered you to be hot, but beautiful…it’s nice. It’s really nice.
“Yeah,” Sae finally says. “Basically.”
“I’ll be there,” you say. There’s something like a scream bubbling in your throat, but you fight it back, knowing that it’s of the utmost importance that you maintain a relaxed demeanor.
“Great,” Sae says. “See you.”
“See you,” you say, and then you hang up before he can say anything further, because you’re already on the verge of combustion and you don’t think you can handle anything more.
Throwing your phone across the room, you give in and scream. There’s thundering footsteps, and then your father is throwing the door to your bedroom open, whipping his head around wildly.
“Is everything alright? Why are you screaming?” he says, heaving for breath, probably because he just sprinted from his spot on the couch to your bedroom in record time.
“Sae Itoshi!” you say.
“Yes?” he says, the rate of his inhales and exhales lowering as he realizes there’s no active threat to your life or property. “What about him?”
“He told me I’m beautiful and invited me to watch his game next weekend,” you say, knowing that this is going to make your father — a fellow Re Al fan — freak out.
You wait, counting down as he processes the news, unable to contain your exuberant grin, knowing exactly what’s coming. Three, two, one—
“What?”

lost in the memories
pairing: Evan “Buck” Buckley x fem!reader
summary: after the incident at work where Buck had to rescue you, you ended up in coma and relieved every moment of your relationship with Buck
word count: 2,1k
note from the writer: i’m so excited to finally share my first imagine with you! i’m taking requests 🫧
Breath in and breathe out. That’s what Buck always said when you start panicking and feel anxious. But today this panic was not over missing a deadline for your task at work, it wasn’t something you could easily fix.
You work as a psychologist who helps your patients get through the trauma of the past and find the strength to move on.
The day started as usual: morning kisses and cuddles with Buck, breakfast, I love you's, and you both went to work. But then everything is just blank, you didn't even get a chance to take your first patient or maybe you did? You can’t even remember.
You woke up at your apartment, cuddling your favorite toy, you got it when you were 9 years old and since then — it’s your lucky charm. You look at your screen to check the time — “8am”. Good, you have time to grab the breakfast at your favorite spot.
Brush your teeth, shower, get dressed, put on some makeup and you’re ready to go.
“Good morning, (Y/N)! Let me guess, latte with raspberry syrup and English breakfast?” — it was Alice, the waitress in your favorite spot. You go here almost every day and you truly can say that she became your friend.
“Good morning, Alice! Yes, you know I can’t start my day without you teasing me and my favorite coffee to get through this.” — you can’t help but smile, she really knows how to highlight your day.
“Of course.” — Alice smiled. “How many patients do you have today? I think I need to make you two coffees.” — she remembered when yesterday you had 5 patients and you came back to the cafe to buy one extra coffee. You loved your job, but sometimes it was too much even for your professional head. Poor people, they don’t deserve to live with all of those traumas.
“Yes please. You’re an angel!” — you gave her a grateful look and agreed on her offer.
Now you have 30 minutes to eat your breakfast and the place was so packed, you were lucky to take the table the moment you walked into the cafe.
About halfway through enjoying your breakfast and making your schedule for tomorrow, you heard someone approaching you.
“Excuse me, I’m so sorry for disturbing you, but could I please sit with you? There’s no empty table and I think I will actually go nuts if I don’t eat.” — you raise your head and it was the most gorgeous man you have ever laid your eyes on. Pretty blue eyes, brown hair and the body of Greek God. Fuck, you stared too long, gotta answer quickly.
“Of course. I got you, this morning anger because of being hungry is not very cutesy.” — you laughed and pointed at the seat in front of you.
“Oh my god, yes! Thank you so much, my co-workers just got saved from my rudeness by…” — he sat down and didn’t finish his sentence so you could tell him your name.
“I’m (Y/N), nice to meet you. Happy to help, we don’t want to give your co-workers some traumas.” — you chuckled. God, you can’t forget about your work even when you have free time.
“That’s very true.” — he laughed. “I’m Evan, but you can call me Buck.” — the way he smiled… This image definitely won’t leave your head.
Suddenly, everything went dark. It’s like there was only one lamp that shined on your table. Buck started crying. You never heard any man cry like this. So much pain, desperation and suffering. With his head on his hands, you could see how his shoulders trembled with every cry.
He raised his head and looked into your eyes with so much sadness.
“Please, come back to me.”
Darkness. You move your finger. Why can you move ONLY your finger? What’s going on? It doesn’t feel right. You can’t see, you can’t move, you can’t speak and hear. Just darkness.
You open the door. Here he is, in all of his glory. Your partner, your love, your friend and your boyfriend in one person.
“Okay, I got every snack you like, you ready for our movie night?” — there’s a big bag of goods in front of Buck and he’s smiling like The Cheshire Cat.
You smile and pull him into the kiss. The sweetest kiss you have ever had. The best lips you have ever tasted. You already knew it would end up being Netflix & Chill.
“I missed you so much.” — you say into his lips and he gives you one more kiss before leading you to the couch.
You sat on the couch immediately getting trapped in his embrace. You didn’t mind at all. There’s no place in the world where you would rather be.
“Did you pick a movie? It’s your turn today, baby.” — you loved your tradition when at least 2-3 times a week you have movie nights. Last time you watched a movie called… You actually can’t remember, making love to each other sounded better after 15 minutes into the movie.
“Yes.” — he makes you look into his face. “Come back to me.”
Darkness. What the fuck is going on? You can feel you squeeze someone’s hand but you can’t see anything. Is that some kind of dream? More like a nightmare actually. Why are you getting pulled out of the most happiest moments of your life?
Buck. You feel so scared without him, you feel so alone. You want to scream “I’m here!”, but not a single word comes out of your mouth. That must be some kind of horrible joke.
You look into the mirror one more time and notice Buck staring at you with a smile.
“Okay, baby, first of all — you know you can stare and touch.” — you said with a smirk and Buck immediately made his way over you. He put his hands on your waist and yours gently fell on his neck. “Secondly, remind me again why we’re gathering in the middle of the week?”
You took a day off, because Buck was convincing you that no one has any other free day and only today they can all meet up together. Honestly, you loved being at Bobby’s and Athena’s house, especially when everyone was there too. Eddie with Christopher, Hen with Karen, Chim with Maddie. It’s like having a second family and you were grateful that they accepted you and loved you as much as Buck loves you.
“(Y/N), I told you it’s the only day when everyone is actually free.” — he said and kissed you. “And to be honest, I just wanted one more day off for you, you were working your ass off past weeks.”
True. For some reason you took more patients than usual and it was exhausting two weeks. Buck is always worried when you overwork yourself, so you didn’t hesitate long when he asked you to take a day off, you felt like you needed that too.
The evening was going great. Everyone is talking, laughing, dancing and eating. It was the most fun days when you all meet up together and Buck knew you loved it. So when Buck asked everyone to give him a little attention, you giggled, because usually it was the beginning of Buck doing something funny.
“Yeah, I know you all are probably expecting me to do a back flip.” — everyone laughed. “But today is a bit different. Not gonna lie, probably it was the hardest task in my life to keep everything a secret.” — you furrowed your brows, what secret?
But Buck continued.
“(Y/N), can you stand next to me, please?” — you’re confused, but you did what he asked. “My love, I know you’re confused and probably thinking that I had too many drinks. And I might be drunk, but I’m drunk in love. The moment I saw you in that cafe, I knew I couldn’t lose you. Honestly, the waitress said that there will be an empty table in 5 minutes, but I still chose to sit with you. Because how could I not?”
You started to realize. Is he… proposing? The love of your life is proposing to you?
“Buck…” — you could feel tears forming in the corners of your eyes.
“Baby, I can’t imagine my life without you and can’t even remember my life before you, that’s how well you filled all the missing pieces. So…” — Buck got on one knee, pulled a pretty little velvet box out of his pocket and asked the most important question that you didn’t even know you needed to hear. “Will you make me the happiest man alive and be my wife?” — you froze, tears started streaming down your cheeks. All the love you had for Buck just got 10 times stronger.
“Yes!” — you smiled happily and fell on your knees to kiss Buck.
He pulled the ring out of the box, carefully placing it on your finger and looked into your eyes.
“Then please, (Y/N)… Come back to me.”
Darkness. Honestly, you’re getting tired of this. You either died or got trapped in the most fucked up dream. And knowing that you don’t really have dreams, there’s only one option left. Are you actually dying? This can’t be real, right?
In the past 3 years your life has finally fallen into the right places. You met Buck, work was going great, you’re supposed to marry the love of your life… You cannot miss that. “Till death do us apart” doesn’t mean that you have to die so soon. You need to come back!
“My love, I know you probably don’t hear me, but I can’t do it without you.” — you heard the echo in this pitch blackness. It was Buck. “We had so much ahead of us, do you remember? We wanted to buy the house, I wanted to surprise you with the best honeymoon, we wanted to start trying on our own bab-“ — his voice broke, you heard sobs.
Your breathing has become heavier. You could feel your chest rising. Can you just open your eyes? You can’t leave Buck like this, you can’t leave your new family. You need to come back, you had so much ahead of you. Wedding, kids, travels, joy, being a wife and mother.
You heard another echo.
“Please, baby, just please come back to me…”
NOW! YOU NEED TO WAKE UP!
You could feel your eyes trembling. Darkness was replaced by white light. Heaven? There is definitely no smell of medicines in heaven.
Slowly, you open your eyes. So slow that it doesn't scare away reality.
The first image you see when you open your eyes and move your head to your right is Buck. He squeezes your hand with his head almost on the hospital bed. He’s still sobbing. It broke your heart into a million pieces. He didn’t deserve to go through this.
“Buck…” — you whisper. You can’t talk any louder, because your mouth is so dry. But he heard you.
Buck raised his head and met your eyes. You’re awake. You’re actually awake. One moment he was in hell, now he’s praising God for bringing you back.
“You came back…” — he smiled with his puffy eyes.
“How could I not? I heard you wanted me back at least four times.” — you chuckled tiredly, making jokes was your defense mechanism against difficulties.
“I thought I lost you, these 4 days were the hardest time of my entire life…” — he wanted to continue, but you interrupted him.
“4 days? W-what happened?” — you couldn’t believe it, you were out for 4 days.
“The building where you work collapsed. There was a mistake made when designing the building and it just fucking collapsed. I found you under the concrete slabs.”
Of course he was the one who rescued you. Your hero. On one hand you were happy that it’s him who saved you, but on the other he probably blames himself for not doing more, for not providing the proper safety. But let’s be honest, he did everything he could and you’re so grateful for that.
“Thank you for saving me.” — tears falling down your cheeks and you’re just happy to be back to him. To your lifeline.
He didn’t say anything, just got up and placed the most gentle kiss on your lips. Almost like he was afraid he could break you and you would vanish, that’s why you placed your hand on his cheek as a confirmation that you’re really here with him.
“So, what’s the best honeymoon you wanted to surprise me with?” — you said into his lips.
“You really heard everything?” — he asked confusedly, you giggled and kissed him once more.
Time to make more memories together.

Her Pretty Girl
pairings: hazel callahan x reader
warnings: insults, stupid Jeff, bad writing
summary: Hazel’s girlfriend calls her Pretty Girl every time.
It was the day after the game, and the fight club planned a celebratory meeting for saving the day. As the girls filed in, Hazel and her girlfriend walked in hand and hand. As everyone got seated, Josie spoke up.
“Well, that was some pretty fucked up shit.” The girls nodded at the statement. They had killed, after headcount, all of the football players. Collectively, they had decided to never mention that part.
“Fuck yeah, we slayed those players,” Sylvie yelled aggressively. The girls laughed and nodded, high-fiving each other.
“Yo where’s the snacks,” PJ asked confused. A gasp came from Hazel’s side, their heads turned towards the sounds.
“I am so sorry, I left it in my last class,” Y/N apologized. “I’ll go grab it.” She stood up, hand leaving Hazels.
“Do you want me to go,” Hazel asked sweetly. Shaking her head, Y/N smiled in appreciation.
“Thank you, but I’ve got it pretty girl, love ya” Y/N said, leaving a small kiss on her cheek before leaving the gym. As Hazel’s eyes followed Y/N’s leaving figure, she heard a snicker come from PJ.
“Gosh, what kind of nickname was that,” PJ asked rudely. Holding back an eye roll, Hazel turned to PJ before answering.
“The nickname a lover gives. I know you wouldn’t know, so I’m glad I could clear it up for you,” Hazel said with a smirk. The girls laughed as PJ blushed in embarrassment. If Hazel was being honest with herself, she was still upset with PJ. Yes, she had said she forgiven her, but she had just wanted to get it over with. Originally, Hazel had felt guilty, but Y/N had told her that she had no reason to be, going on about how PJ was a ‘stupid bitch’.
“No, but really,” PJ interrupted Hazel’s thoughts. “Why in the hell does she call you that?” All the girls turned to Hazel, ready for the story. Hazel opened her mouth to speak before she paused. When had Y/N start calling her pretty girl? Blinking, Hazel thought about when it had started.
“Well,” Hazel started. “For as long as I can remember knowing her, she’s always called me pretty girl.” They had gotten together during summer, their first ‘official date’ had been the festival, the day before school. “She always called me hun, like she does to everyone she cares.” The girls nodded in agreement. Everyone who was everyone knew that when talking with people she cared about, she always called them by their name, and hun. “Sometimes she called me sweets,” Hazel added. Huh, Y/N really did call her by lots of pet names.
“But we wanna know why she calls you pretty girl,” Annie said impatiently.
“Yeah, come on,” Isabel agreed, holding Josie’s hand. Hazel rolled her eyes playfully at the impatience from the group.
“Seriously, I don’t remember-” Hazel stopped mid sentence.
“What,” Brittany asked. Hazel did remember.
“It was the beginning of freshman year..”
It was a normal day. As usual, Jeff was being a dick and pushing Hazel around. Hazel kept her head down, if she kept her mouth shut, the bullying would be over faster. Everyone usually ignored Jeff’s bullying, hoping to stay out of his trail of fear. Not Y/N though.
“Your so ugly,” Jeff said with cruelty. Hazel winced subtly. That definitely did not help with her self esteem.
“You shut your mouth,” a voice said, stepping in front of Hazel. The person put themself in between her and Jeff. It was her darling Y/N. Well, not her Y/N, at least not at the time, but Hazel still liked her. “She is the prettiest, gorgeous, most stunning girl in school, hell, in the whole freaking world!” From what Hazel could see from behind, she could hear and see her fuming.
“Ugh,” Jeff whined. “No fun, this is too much work.” Jeff snapped for his goonies to follow him out, not wanting to do extra work. As he left, Y/N turned to Hazel with concern.
“Hey, are you ok,” she asked softly. No one had every spoken so kindly to Hazel, and it didn’t help the fact that she was gorgeous.
“I-I’m ok,” Hazel stuttered back, avoiding eye contact. Suddenly two hands grabbed her face and brought it near Y/N’s face. Too close. Hazel couldn’t help the blush coming onto her face.
“He is wrong, Haze. You are not ugly,” Y/N said firmly. Haze laughed sarcastically, looking away from Y/N.
“It’s ok, I know I’m not the prettiest,” Hazel tried to play off, but Y/N would not hear anymore of that. Y/N held Hazel’s face firmer, forcing Hazel to look at her.
“Listen here, Hazel Callahan. You are the most stunning, gorgeous, most dazzling girl I’ve ever met. You, are a very pretty girl.” Y/N was fully prepared to continue to rant, but she noticed tears in Hazel’s eyes. “Haze,” she said softly, wiping away her tears. “I will tell you every day, of what a pretty girl you are until you believe me. And I’ll continue to tell you, even after that.” Hazel couldn’t stop a few tears slip past her eyes.
“Do you really mean that,” Hazel asked softly. Nodding, Y/N pulled the crying girl into a hug.
“Of course, pretty girl.” That was the day Hazel realized that she loved Y/N. She wanted to be girlfriends.
“And since then, she’s been calling me pretty girl,” Hazel said, wiping her eyes. Some tears had slipped while recalling the beautiful moment. She had never taken Jeff’s words to heart, but hearing Y/N fighting for her to know she was pretty? It meant the world to her. A loud sob broke the silence causing Hazel to snap out of her thoughts. The group was crying, moved by her darling Y/N.
“That was too fucking cute,” Sylvie cried. Hazel nodded, a loving smile on her face.
“I’m not gay, but I would date her if she was single,” Brittany added. The gym doors opened to show the center of attention herself, Y/N.
“Hey, I brought all the snacks,” Y/N said, motioning to the wagon full of snacks she was wheeling. The girls gave a collective ‘awe’, leaving a confused look on the girl’s face. Hazel walked towards Y/N to help bring the snacks. “Thank you, pretty girl,” Y/N smiled sweetly. The girls screamed at the reference, leaving a confused look on Y/N’s face. Hazel couldn’t help it, she grabbed her girlfriend and kissed her, getting kissed back with vigor. When Hazel pulled back, Y/N gave a dazed look of love. “What was that for, pretty girl?”
“Nothing, just wanted to kiss you,” Hazel said nonchalantly. Blushing, Y/N looked away and started unpacking the snacks. As Hazel stared at her girlfriend while PJ walked up to her.
“You’re really whipped, huh,” PJ elbowed Hazel knowingly. Hazel hummed in agreement. She was head over heals for Y/N. “You’re her pretty girl, aren’t ya?”
Yes. Hazel was her pretty girl.
A/N: I actually liked this one a lot. Hope you all liked this one! If you have any requests, please send them :)

roy kent | just friends
MASTERLIST | TAGLIST | KO-FI
words: 3k
warnings: strong language because it's roy fucking kent, mentions of alcohol but not intoxication, bad date experiences with rude and not nice people, including comments on reader's body.
single parent!reader (they/them, bi/pan) x uncle roy in which he is your best friend and go-to babysitter when you have an awful date that ends early. protectiveness, hurt/comfort, and a heated confession ensues.
prompt: Roy Kent x Reader, Friends to lovers?
You’ve never been more relieved to be home, even as the sound of screaming children drifts from your house. You press your forehead against the cool door, taking in a deep breath. “Past their bedtime. Again,” you mutter, but your best friend allowing your daughter to have a late night with his niece, Phoebe, is the least of your worries after what you just experienced.
Horror. Pure horror.
“Oi!” you hear the deep, gritty voice of Roy Kent echoing down your hallway. “Come back ‘ere and do my other hand! Can’t be walking around with only one set of fucking nails painted!”
Giggles follow, and you smile despite yourself. They give you the energy to open the door finally, and you step in to find your hallway lit brightly, Phoebe flying out of the kitchen with chocolate smeared across her face and bright blue nail polish in her hand.
“Don’t be getting that on my carpet!” you warn, alerting everyone to your presence.
Your daughter, Maisie, skips out next, waving. “We’re painting Uncle Roy’s nails!”
“Lucky Roy!” She’d been calling him “uncle” for the past year, though neither of you is related to the footballer-turned-manager. Maisie picked it up from Phoebe, and Roy hadn’t seemed to mind, since you’re practically best friends anyway. You’re constantly trying to tire the kids out with play dates at one another’s house, or else exchanging babysitting duties so one of you can have a free night. Of course, Roy isn’t a single parent like you, but he watches Phoebe enough that you’ve formed a bond over the years, one that stemmed from your shared love of your chaotic children.
That bond has blossomed into something much more than you bargained for, though. After all, he is Roy fucking Kent, and his rough exterior matched with his hidden, softer side was always going to be your downfall. But since he’s been in and out of relationships and never made a move, you’ve let the small crush lie, trying to distract yourself with dates.
Terrible, terrible dates.
Like the one you had tonight.
“You’re back early.” Roy emerges last, leaning against the doorframe as he blows on his wet-varnished nails. “It wasn’t the one who speaks like someone’s pressed fast-forward on the TV remote again, was it? I told you they’re a loser.”
“No. No, it was someone far, far worse than Fast-forward Frank.” You sigh and try to ignore the flickering in your chest, because gruff footballer Roy Kent is currently being pampered by two ten-year-olds and seems to be enjoying every minute.
“Fuck,” he deadpans. “I’ll grab the wine.” He wanders back into the kitchen.
You huff again, kicking your shoes off your aching feet and heading into the living room, where the girls are painting one another’s nails. It was at least nice to snuggle up on your couch and watch, legs curled under you. They’re arguing, of course, but you’re good at tuning that out most of the time.
“You look very nice, Y/N,” Phoebe compliments. “Are you dressed up for my Uncle Roy?”
“No.” Even so, your cheeks flush, and you can’t help but hope he noticed your appearance before you left earlier. In fact, you’d been wondering all through dinner why he’d pursed his lips, jaw ticking, as he’d looked you up and down with shiny, dark eyes. It hadn’t exactly been the look of a man who lusted after you. More the disapproving stare of a father about to tell his child to go and change. “I went on a date.”
“What’s a date?” Maisie asks.
“14th of April,” Phoebe answers confidently. You smirk, glad when they return to their own little world.
“Right girls,” Roy says as he comes in. “Go and play upstairs, now. We’re talking about adult stuff now.”
“And you should be in bed,” you remind, because you suppose that one of you has to be the responsible parent, and it certainly isn’t him.
The kids groan but trudge out of the room, leaving you in peace. Somehow, that’s even worse. You don’t really know why; you’ve had lots of awful dating experiences, but tonight, you’re just… exhausted. You don’t want to have to keep searching for something that most people find without a problem. You don’t want to meet new people who you don’t connect with, don’t even really like, just because the alternative is sitting at home with only a child for company, or sometimes Roy.
Roy places the wine on the coffee table and raises his brow. “Go on then. Tell me what was wrong with this one.”
“It’d be quicker to tell you what’s right. They started by telling me to put a blanket under me in their car so I wouldn’t scuff their leather seats. And then when I told them I had a kid, they looked me up and down and said ‘ah, yeah, I can tell. Have you looked into cosmetic surgery?’” You wrinkle your nose as Roy scoffs.
“You’re joking!”
“I wish I was joking.” You rest your head against the couch cushion, closing your tired eyes. “They tried to order a salad for me after that. I told them fuck off, I’m having the garlic bread. They didn’t like that.”
“Jesus fucking Christ. Do you have their address?” Roy is already scrambling to get up, and you aren’t sure if he’s joking or not.
You roll your eyes and tug him back down. “Stop it.”
“I’m not fucking joking. Where does this wanker live?”
Okay, you realise. Not joking. His jaw is clenched, brows even more furrowed than usual. You’ve seen him angry before, but never… seething. It rolls off him until you yank him down a second time.
“I don’t need you to beat them up. I need you to drink wine and tell me I’ll find the right person one day.” You pout as you pick up your wine glass, only half-joking.
His nostrils flare, but he settles down. “You will find the right person,” he reassures. “People are just dicks. You deserve better than all that shit.”
“I wonder sometimes,” you admit. “Nobody wants a single parent. I’m a package deal, and… well, there’s a reason I’m still single after all this time.”
“Oi.” He nudges you, draping his arm around the back of your couch so you smell his aftershave. You turn into the warmth, the comfort, though there is so much space between you still. More than you’d like. In another life, he might have been the one you were looking for. In another life, you weren’t searching for a good, healthy, passionate love, because you’d found it long ago, in the schoolyard where you met.
But you’re in this life, you remind yourself, and you’re a far cry from the people Roy has dated before. It’s clear you’re just friends. You always will be.
You lift your brows, waiting for whatever lecture he’s about to give you.
His eyes pierce yours. “Don’t even bother going there. You and Maisie deserve the fucking world, and fuck anyone who isn’t going to give it to you.”
The words pierce your heart, and something damp and warm trickles from the corner of your eye. A tear, you realise too late.
Roy sighs, the rough pad of his thumb brushing it away. You’re not surprised by his gentle touch, though most people might be. You know him too well to think him anything other than tender-hearted and caring to his core.
“Don’t get fuckin’ upset over that prick. Please, sweetheart.”
“No. I’m not.” You sniff, feeling pathetic. “I’m just overwhelmed. Tired. That’s all.”
His touch drifts to your hair, brushing through the strands and tucking a few behind your ear as your eyes flutter shut again. You could stay like this for a long time. For forever. He has no idea just how much you need him, how much better things feel when he’s around. It would just make sense, you and him — if you took away his fame, at least. You love one another’s kids. You’d become family over the years. You trust him with every fibre of your being as the one steadfast person you can count on.
“Y’know, you’re the person I’d call in the middle of the night if I needed to bury a body. Or if I thought there was a ghost in my house or something,” you admit.
His face crumples. “Ey?”
“Just…” You lean into him, burying your cheek against his chest. “You’re the only person who hasn’t let me down or left me.”
His movements are stiff as he wraps his arms around you, but he melts into you quickly, holding you to him until you’re not sure where you end and he begins. You hear his heart echoing in your ear. Feel the prickly bristle of his beard against your skin. It’s the safest you ever get to feel, and it’s rare you allow yourself to be so vulnerable. But tonight, you can’t find a reason to keep pretending.
“I never would,” he whispers. “If it was me, if you gave me a chance at a family like yours… I wouldn’t fucking waste it. They’re idiots, all of them. You and Maisie are precious. You deserve the best. Don’t stop until you find it.”
You pull away, pulse racing. It’s never felt right to address your feelings before, and perhaps tomorrow you’ll regret it. Maybe you’ll lose him, even, but you believe him when he says he isn’t going anywhere, and you have to know…
“What if I already have?”
His frown lasts for minutes, hours, as he looks down at you. And then you see it dawn on him, and you don’t want to hear how this story ends. You don’t want to be rejected twice in one night. You stumble up. “Forget I said that. I had a couple of drinks at the restaurant, and I’m all… loopy. I’m going to get some snacks. Are you hungry?” The drinks were non-alcoholic, but he doesn't need to know that.
“No,” Roy says.
It’s all he gives you. The message has been delivered loud and clear. He doesn’t want you. Tears sting your eyes as you leave the living room, heading into the kitchen. You catch your reflection in the window and almost break down entirely. You’re an idiot, and you’ve gone and embarrassed yourself in front of the one person you can be yourself around.
You grab a tissue, drying your tears, but fresh ones fall all the same.
And then your back prickles and you know he’s followed you.
“Oi,” he breathes gently, tilting your chin up as he reaches you. “What are you getting upset for?”
“I’m not,” you lie pathetically, looking anywhere but at him. “You can head off if you want. I can watch the girls tonight and drop Phoebe off—”
“Can we just rewind a minute? Do you… Do you think that you and me…?”
“No! God, no. No. No, no, no.”
“Oh.” He nods, leaning back on his heels. "So no then?"
“No!”
“All right, I fucking get it.” He lifts his hands as though they might wipe it all away. “I just thought that’s what you were saying before, on the couch. I thought…”
“You should stop thinking, Roy.” You offer him a flustered smile, your face burning. “Honestly, let’s just forget about it.”
“Right. Fine.” More silence. And then: “What if I don’t want to?”
“Don’t want to what?”
He shrugs. “Forget about it. What if… we’ve both already found the right people?”
Your body is electricity now, and you can barely breathe. “What… do you mean?”
He scratches his stubble, lowering his gaze. “Well, I could take you on a date. I’d be much better at it than the losers you’ve been seeing.”
You’re caught off-guard, hands trembling, “Is that what you’d like?”
“Well, I did. I mean, I’ve wanted to. I just… you’ve already said no. Several times. So I suppose I got my answer, and that’s that.”
“Well, I didn’t think you saw me that way. You’ve never asked before. Is this, like, a pity thing?”
“Fuck no!” he blurts too quickly. “I mean, no. 'Course not. And you’ve never mentioned it before either, by the way. You’re always going on all these fucking dates. When was I supposed to ask? Between Fast-forward Frank and that fucking woman obsessed with her pet ferret?”
You blink, puzzled. “I mean… if you asked, I wouldn’t have gone on dates with Ferret Fiona.”
He throws his hands up in the air. “Now she fucking tells me.”
You don’t like the implication that you’ve been the one holding him back. “Well, it’s not like you’ve ever tried, is it? I mean, I’ve been single for years and you’ve never made a move, even before all this online dating palaver! And you’re not exactly easy to read, by the way. You’re always frowning, even when I’m trying to bloody well impress you! What was I supposed to think? That you fancy me when you always look like this?” You moulded your expression into a big, dramatic, brooding glower and hope it encapsulates everything that is Roy.
He crosses his arms over his chest, looking angry now. Proving your point. “Oi! I don’t do that with my lips,” he points out. “And you’re always talking about how badly you want to find someone when I’m sitting right fucking here! That’s mixed signals, mate.”
“It was me hinting! Hoping!” you shout. “I was just waiting for a sign, or something, but you never treated me like anything more than a friend!”
“Because I didn’t want to be like that creepy Allen bloke you dated last year! He was your friend too, if I recall!”
You sigh, realising the conversation is going in circles. You look at him. He looks at you. Both of you are breathless, wild-eyed, rosy-cheeked, and you know you’ll always remember the way he looks, standing in your kitchen, infuriated and perhaps more open than ever before, because you see it now; that dark look in his eyes was never a guard, never a sign of being just friends. It was want, need.
It was everything you already feel.
“Why are you two arguing?” a meek voice interrupts. You both look to the door to find the girls hovering in the hallway.
“We’re not arguing,” you assure quickly.
“It’s adult stuff,” says Roy at the same time.
“We don’t like it when you argue,” Maisie says. “Especially when you’re supposed to get married.”
“What?” you question sharply, turning red all over again.
Phoebe nods as though corroborating Maisie’s story. “We’ve planned it all. It will be next June at McDonald’s, and Uncle Roy will bring you flowers, and we’ll all have milkshakes afterwards.”
You put your head in your hands, peeking through your fingers and surprised to find that Roy is smirking. “Sounds like a shit wedding, Pheebs. Where’ve you got this idea from?” he says.
“Well, Mum said you two will end up together because you clearly fancy Y/N and it is invevitable.”
A laugh bubbles in your own throat at her attempt to say inevitable, though you’re still too stunned to speak.
“See?” Roy whispers. “Everyone else knew. It's fucking invevitable.”
You shiver, lowering your hands to meet his gaze properly. It’s soft and intent, nothing like the anger of a moment ago.
“All right, girls,” you say. “Get your pyjamas on. We’ll be up to say nanight in a minute.”
You usher them away, closing the door to when you hear their footsteps on the stairs. You’ve never been more aware of his presence, the fact it’s just the two of you — you don’t even know who you are without the kids jumping about, sticking their noses in.
“Have I fucked it all up?” he asks finally.
“No. Have I?”
He shakes his head.
“Then what now?” you question. “What does this… mean?”
“Well…” He leans against the counter, fidgety as he smiles again. “I’ll take you on a decent fucking date for starters. No kids, and no more of whatever the fuck this argument was.”
The thought leaves you feeling cracked and seeping with excitement, though you try to play it cool. “Okay. That’s a good plan.”
“Right. Good. Then… are you free Friday night?”
You inch closer to him, timid suddenly. “I don’t know. My usual babysitter is busy.”
He rolls his eyes and tugs you toward him so that your torsos collide, and then his fingers curl around the nape of your neck and you can think of nothing but the way his lips look, and what it must feel like, having them between your thighs, beard grazing your skin.
“You’re an idiot,” he rasps.
“Takes one to know one.” You lick your lips, then his mouth his on yours, rough and ready and desperate. You let him in, let his tongue explore your mouth. You know you shouldn’t. The girls might come back in, might already be listening, but you’ve wanted this for so long.
You both have.
You’re breathless when he stops, his hands lingering just above your belly as he bites down on a groan. “If I don’t stop now, there’ll be trouble.”
You’re not willing to let go, though, and you rest your hands on his chest as you kiss his jaw. “And?”
“And I’ve waited a long fucking time to do this properly. Give you the care,” he kisses your nose, “you deserve. Sweep you,” another kiss, this time at the outer corner of your eye, “off your fucking feet. So I’m going to.” He steps away. “Friday. Seven. Find a new babysitter, and make sure they’re free all night.”
With that, he steps away, leaving you wanting more.
“Uncle Royyyyy!” Phoebe is calling. “Will you read us a story?”
He grins, kisses your forehead, and then is gone. You’re not sure your knees will hold you up if you follow, but you listen to him talking to the girls, making them laugh, and you have never felt more right, more complete.
You’re a fool for thinking anyone else could be perfect for you when the man you love has been here all along.

“We are here this morning with a true music icon in the making, who’s hits like Compromising Positions and most recently Honesty took the world by storm. Now, Eddie Munson is just a few short days away from releasing his sophomore album with his Corroded Coffin bandmates, Assistance is Futile. Welcome to Eddie Munson everybody, yes!”
“Happy to be here, Charles.”
Good Morning America was definitely not the type of talk show the rockstar pictured himself ever getting invited on. He didn’t think his personal style, or the music he was putting out there with the band, would be something the producers would welcome. Considering especially the whole thing was televised live. No cuts, no edits, no take backs. Whatever is said remains out there forever. Quoted and interpreted until the next schmuck makes a fool of himself.
Hosts, Charles Gibson and Joan Lunden, were also known to be quite blunt with their guests. Blunt, but not in the rude sense of the word. Given their history on the network, their experience, they're simply good at what they do, which sometimes means effortlessly picking at a topic until they get a satisfactory reaction or better yet, television worthy answer. Of course there’s always a list of pre-agreed questions, carefully discussed with management and PR teams, but things have known to… slip out.
But Marianne trained him. Extensively. She flew out to New York the second this interview was arranged and spent hours in Eddie’s penthouse hotel room going over details that to most people, people not from this world, may seem minor: how to sit, how to smile, what to laugh at, the amount of seconds it should take him to answer a question. The list goes on. And now she was here, at the studio, to make sure Eddie saw a friendly face in the crowd. Someone to look at in case he got flustered at any point during the fifteen minute round.
“Before we get into the nitty gritty,” Joan begins, crossing one knee over the other, “Eddie, why don’t you tell us a little about how you and the band first got started?”
So Eddie talks. He’s charming as he tells the story, sparing a few details ‘cause he knows he doesn’t have a lot of time. He does however, crack a few jokes, including one about the list of names Gareth and Jeff brought to him one night before they all agreed on Corroded Coffin. Charles laughs before asking the next question about the band's success so far, and what he makes of it.
“Oh man, it’s so insane,” Eddie answers truthfully, “I still have days where I don’t think any of this is real. All of us in the band feel incredibly lucky, for sure.” He nods along as he speaks.
Joan and Charles take turns asking a few more general questions about the band plus the other members who couldn’t make it out today, before settling on the whole reason Eddie agreed to do this interview in the first place: promotion for the new album.
Assistance is Futile was a collection of songs about you — but that was not going to be an answer he gives today, accidentally or otherwise. Instead, the rockstar focuses attention on how the record was built. Technical language that he dumbs down slightly to make sure he’s continuously captivating his audience (Marianne’s advice). He tells them what instruments the group played around with that may not have featured on their last album, which was more classic rock than this new project. And he’s excited as he talks. Passionate.
He continues to lay out the facts. List the number of tracks it features, eleven plus two bonus songs on the extended version. He talks about the writing process, still carefully avoiding mentioning the influence. He won’t say he wrote them all during the aftermath of your breakup. He hasn’t even admitted that to you, despite the fact that you spent every waking moment together since the afternoon at Cove City Sound Studios. He knows he won’t be able to hide that for much longer, but until the album comes out and you hear the songs for yourself, he’ll keep it to himself because things have been so… great.
Sure, things weren’t back to normal. It can’t be the way it was until Eddie finds the time to speak with your management and nip this whole evil grandmother blackmail thing in the bud. At least he’s got you in some capacity. He gets to talk to you again, laugh with you. He gets to hug you, kiss you, touch you. Friends with benefits, or whatever the term is. Eddie’s just glad to be around you.
“Now, here at the studio, we got an exclusive, sneak peak listen to Assistance is Futile, and there’s a little bit of speculation between the crew about the meaning behind some of the songs.”
Boom. There it is. The dreaded topic. And it was going so well.
“Care to share where the inspiration for these lyrics struck you? Who, in particular, they might be about?”
Eddie smiles. “Give into the charade”, Marianne’s words ring in his ears, “But by any means, don’t confirm their suspicions”. Not an easy task. A slippery slope by all accounts. He ever so slightly glances in the direction of his manager who nods her head to show encouragement.
“Who do you think they’re about, Joan?” Eddie bounces the question back.
The presenter smiles. She knows she shouldn’t say. Yes, it would be good for ratings, but bringing up your name is not something that can be done lightly. She knows that. Hence why Joan hoped Eddie Munson wouldn’t be smart enough to avoid the initial question. But the rockstar’s been trained and he’s not about to mess up with two minutes to spare.
“Well, I’d say my friend Charles here. He’s got, what was that one lyric, legs for days and a wicked smile.” Joan deflects. Ever the professional.
The whole studio starts laughing. Eddie joins in, satisfied with the way this worked out.
“You’d be right on the money there, Joan.” The rockstar nods with a wide smile before continuing, “Charles Gibson has been a constant inspiration for Corroded Coffin songs. There’s not a lot to do in Hawkins, where we grew up. Gotta write what you know and my uncle has an affinity for this show.”
He turns to the camera to say hi to Wayne, “I know you’re watching.”
Then shifts to look at the hosts once more, winking at the gentleman sitting across from him.
“Charles, you sexy devil, you.”
The laughter continues. People start to clap, whistle along to Eddie’s perfectly curated response. Marianne is beaming with pride because for a brief moment, she didn’t think he could do it. There've been so many mishaps in the past, wild things the band — the curly-haired frontman in particular — have done that she’s had to either smooth over with the media or keep hidden from the public altogether. This morning she finally exhaled. He did well.
You’re laughing too. Feeling proud too as you watch him through your television screen, just like you promised Eddie you would.
Blanket covering your body, all the way up to your chin, as you sit comfortably on the couch. The smile on your face is as genuine as they come. He’s so good at this. Considering how nervous he was, how much time he spent with Marianne going over every possible scenario until his head hurt. You took a mental note to tell him later that he really had nothing to worry about. He’s a natural.
The question about his inspiration for the album didn’t surprise you. It’s pretty standard for these types of press junkets. Even more given the fact your relationship has been the talk of the town for months, especially when the two of you weren’t even together. People love to speculate.
When Eddie told you about the upcoming album, one night after you came down from another intense orgasm, you assumed he wrote about your relationship — especially the failures. Honesty came to the rockstar after only one night. Makes sense that a complete record would be next. He didn’t confirm it though, because you didn’t ask. You would know once it came out, when you purchased your own copy to listen through. Artists supporting artists, and whatnot.
“Corroded Coffin’s Assistance is Futile. Coming to a record store near you, this Thursday, October 14.” Charles Gibson announces, holding up a shiny compact disc to one of the cameras, showing off the album’s cover art: a thundering night sky, with something sinister looming inside the blood red clouds. An ode to the band's Dungeons & Dragons days.
“Eddie Munson, thank you for your time today.” Joan Lunden flashes a pearly white smile.
The rockstar returns the expression. “Thank you for having me.”
Backstage, Eddie gives Marianne a big hug. Thanking her for being here. While returning the embrace, she reassures him that’s never going to change. “Or at least until the contract ends,” his manager teases and ruffles his already wild hair before sitting down on the velvet sofa.
“So, tell me, am I flying back to LA alone?”
Eddie picks up a bag of previously opened Funyuns before leaning against the vanity. He shuffles the remainder of the onion-flavoured corn chips inside the plastic, then starts eating them, one by one.
“Yeah,” he says, shrugging as if it was an obvious answer. “We’ve got the release party for the album. The guys would kill me if I missed it.”
“I’d kill you first.”
He smirks. “Then why ask me the question?”
Marianne gives him a pointed look. One that says, no, screams, he of all people should know why. Eddie got on a private plane to New York so he could “sort something out”, then ended up staying for weeks longer than intended with no explanation. Marianne called him at the hotel multiple times, asking for a return day, but he always gave a vague answer. Then Gareth called, as did Jeff (who sort of already suspected the reason for the delayed homecoming, kudos to Holly), but Eddie continued on the road of avoidance, all while Page Six posted about sightings of him with a certain pop sensation.
“Eddie, you haven’t been this happy since—”
“I know,” he interrupts, “I know and yes, to whatever you’re thinking, but I don’t wanna talk about it now because there’s something I need to do first.”
“What do you need to do?” She asks, puzzled because in the time they’ve worked together, the rockstar has never once left her out of action. She did everything for him. That was her job. One she did gladly because she’s grown to care for these boys.
Eddie sighs, wiping his crumb covered hands on the material of his trousers. The bag of chips lays empty on the table next to him. Of course he contemplated telling Marianne everything on multiple occasions, but each time he chickened out at the last minute. He knew she could fix everything in the blink of an eye. Simply, the rockstar just didn’t feel worthy of that.
His entire life, Eddie ran away. From situations, from people, from feelings. Anything that was messy, or just became messy. He ran until the distance felt comfortable enough to continue with his life. Growing up in Hawkins, he didn’t have a Marianne. He didn’t have anyone that would stand up for him, so running became second nature. Running fixed his problems.
By the time the band hit stardom, running turned to escapism in the form of drugs and alcohol. The bubble. Under the influence, the rockstar didn’t care who cleaned up after him and Marianne was so good at her job that most of the time, Eddie didn’t even know there was a problem to run from until it was resolved.
The situation with your grandmother however, was different. It involved you.
He gave into his instincts and ran. Only this time, Eddie ran to protect you. Threats were made to potentially ruin your career — fucked up, considering the person that made them was also the person who helped kick-start your fame. And as selfish as he may seem to people that don’t know the real him, the rockstar wasn’t willing to gamble everything you built for yourself. He ran.
But Eddie was done running. He was going to fix this and he planned on doing it alone.
“What’s going on?” Marianne stands and takes a step closer, crossing her arms. Concern is starting to fill her veins, though she’s trying her best not to show it. Trying and failing.
Maybe solving this alone wasn’t the way to go.
“Someone’s been blackmailing me,” he admits eventually, reluctantly.
“What?!” Marianne just about shouts. “Who? For how long?”
“It’s uh…. It’s a complicated story.”
“Well, fuck.” She’s slightly annoyed ‘cause how could he have hidden something like this from her? This is why the band has her. Managing them, planning shit to maintain their career is only a small part of her job. Protecting these boys is a priority and blackmail is a big fucking deal.
Exhaling, Marianne lets her arms drop and proceeds to take a much less confrontational stance.
“Eddie, you know I’ve always got nothing but time for you, so spill.”
And he does. Starting right at the beginning with Chrissy Cunningham.
-
When Eddie stops by your place later that afternoon, he kisses you, the second you open up your apartment. He kisses you fully, deeply. He’s kicking the door closed with his boot, lips continually locked together, his hands holding you firmly by the waist. A man on a mission and the mission being to make you feel like you're floating all the damn time.
You smile against his soft lips. Mission accomplished.
“That’s one way to say hello.”
“Hello,” he whispers back, also smiling. “How was your morning?”
“Not nearly as interesting as yours,” you answer his question and turn in your spot, wanting to lead him to the couch. Eddie’s hands remain on your waist as you do so, no inclination of letting go.
MTV is on. The wild-haired rockstar instantly feels at home — a stark contrast to that first night he showed up at your door. Adrenaline pumping. Unsure of the outcome. But it was better than he could’ve imagined, dreamed. Back in your arms with little to no arguments. Back where he for sure belonged.
Honesty comes on. The video makes him smile as he effortlessly pulls your legs over his thighs, hand settling on your soft flesh and giving it a gentle squeeze. The memory of that day with you on set. Eddie wouldn’t call it acting. Hugging you, kissing you on camera. Not a tough act. Natural, actually. That was a good day. You’re thinking it too.
“Magnetic.”
“Huh?”
Eddie can’t tear his eyes away from the screen. “You’re magnetic. Utterly. I almost forgot, but I didn’t really, you know? I-I think about that day often and how much fun it was,” he rambles. It’s sweet.
“But what I replay in my mind the most is how fucking talented you are, sweetheart. A goddess in front of a camera, I swear.”
You smirk, your own mind flying to something much, much dirtier than what Eddie meant, and he flicks your leg at the institution, all while glancing at you from the corner of his brown eyes. Because there was a video camera left under the rockstars California King bed with a tape inside, a tape that could get you both — although the sexist industry you’re lucky to be a part of would blame only you, mainly — in a lot of trouble, if it ever saw the light of day. A tape for private eyes only. And Eddie wasn’t wrong, you were near damn a goddess.
“Wish we could work together again,” he says, then quickly adds, “Professionally, sweetheart, before you get any kinky ideas.”
That makes you laugh.
“Think you should focus on the album the band is about to release, hotshot. Once that’s a sure hit, then we can talk about doing something together.”
“Well, there is a box in my room, back in LA, with notebooks full of songs…”
He’s trying to be encouraging. Motivational. Really what Eddie’s doing is building up the courage to ask you to go back to Los Angeles with him. In a complete roundabout way, to be honest. The guys would call him a pussy. He was being a pussy. There was however, a lot he still needed to tell you. This whole thing with your grandma, for one. But Marianne was handling that now, and once she gave him the agreed upon sign, there was nothing stopping Eddie from screaming he loves you from all available rooftops — which he hoped to do for the first time at the place you two officially met.
And with his manager on the case, he knew it would be sooner rather than later.
“Eddie, you’re a dumbass.” Marianne states. There’s a frown on her face, but it’s not serious. Accompanied by a smile that’s giving him a little bit of hope.
“I know—”
“No,” she interrupts, “You don’t.”
He exhales. “I do, though.”
“Eddie. If you came to me when this first happened, you would’ve never lost all this time with Little Miss Perfect. The fact that you didn’t, the fact that you didn’t trust me with this information, makes you a dumbass.”
“So, you can fix this?”
“There’s a little thing called a Cease and Desist,” Marianne says as if it’s the most obvious answer in the world. And in a way, it is. “No one is going to threaten the career of my favourite client and get away with it.”
Eddie smiles. Genuinely. Something reminiscent of relief is flowing through his body, down to the tips of his toes, until he no longer feels heavy. The burden of this situation is slowly lifting.
“With your permission, I’d like to approach her team with this information. They’ll most likely also issue a cease and desist, so that her career is also protected.” Marianne says. “But I guess since all you’ve tried to do is keep her out of harm’s way, the only way you knew how, I’m assuming I have your permission without even asking for it?”
“Yes, yes, thank you.” He’s repeating over and over and over, wrapping his arms around Marianne. A hug they’d both cherish forever.
“Like I said, let’s get you to survive this record release first, okay?”
You’re looking at each other now.
“Take it day by day, Eds.”
“What if I want to skip ahead?”
There’s a lot hiding behind that question. The future is uncertain in many ways. He knows that he wants you, you know that you want him. That’s enough, but at the same time it isn’t. Day by day is easier than thinking about tomorrow, or the next day. He just loves you, which he’ll tell you soon. That’s what he wants to skip too.
On the other hand, you’re terrified. Giving into him again brought no shortage of anxiety about his past behaviour. Eddie Munson hurt you, twice. Second time worse than the first. You forgave him, yet the fear was still there. The question remained: what if he did it again? He wouldn’t, but what if he did? So taking it day by day, as it came, was easier. A shield, of sorts. Protection against hurt.
Also, it was a lot more fun to act without consequence. To just be.
Existing with him felt almost normal, even though there was nothing normal about the various interviews and photoshoots the rockstar has been doing promoting Assistance is Futile while in New York, or the long phone calls with his manager and bandmates in preparation for the release party. Nothing normal about your own career, which you’ve slowly been defrosting following the short heartbreak hiatus. Pivoting slightly towards acting as a new form of expression. So you’re reading scripts, rehearsing lines. All without expectations. Day by day.
“Skipping ahead means you, going back to LA for the release party,” you point out.
“You could come with me. The invitation is there, you know that.”
“There’s nothing I’d want more than to be there for you and the guys, Eddie, you know that.” You lean in closer, pressing your body weight into his. “But if I make an appearance, it will overshadow the album you worked really hard on and that’s not fair.”
He doesn’t say anything. Instead, pressing his lips to the side of your head, leaving a soft kiss while inhaling the sweet scent of your shampoo. He slowly nods against you, understanding your point of view.
“So we won’t see each other for a while then, huh?”
“Well, I got that recurring part in Law & Order which is filming here, so that’s a couple of months, at least, that I’ll be stuck here in New York.”
“I can visit,” he jumps in almost instantly, “And you, maybe… You can come out to see me whenever you have breaks in filming?”
“Sounds good, Eds.”
There’s a moment of silence. It shifts towards the heavy side. Eddie’s biting his tongue. He wants so badly to tell you everything he’s been keeping secret, but he knows it’s not a good idea until Marianne confirms she’s consulted your team and the cease and desist letters have been sent out. He’s just not ready to say goodbye yet. Not even for a little while. He just got you back. You’re also lost in thought. Reuniting with the Corroded Coffin frontman has been nothing short of a rollercoaster, in the best way possible. Having him here, next to you once more, kissing and touching you. And you know it was limited. That time would come knocking and he’d have to go back, while you’d need to stay. Bittersweet would be the word to describe how you feel.
“How about we focus on right now, hm?” You offer, lifting your head so that your sweet gaze catches his chocolate one. Then a short inhale later, you kiss him. Gentle, at first, although not quite a peck. His eyes close on impact as his hand reaches for your face, attaching itself like a magnet. Cradling, squeezing your cheeks.
And you smile. Fucking smile. Eddie loves it when you smile while kissing him. It drives him crazy knowing his touch makes you that happy. So he can’t help but smile too. Teeth knocking against each other in the process.
“I’ll never get tired of kissing you,” the rockstar admits.
“I’ll never get tired of kissing you, Eddie Munson.”
The hand that held his toned abdomen just a mere second ago is now not so innocently sliding in a downward trajectory. You fiddle with his leather belt, unbuckling it rather effortlessly with one hand after you press your lips against his once more. Deeper this time. Wanting.
“But distracting me from a conversation about what’s mph… next,” he mumbles as you tug at his zipper. You’re not giving him a chance to breathe. “Isn’t going to - Jesus - work.”
“Okay,” you’re teasing. It’s a whisper and Eddie’s brain short circuits ‘cause your perfectly manicured fingers are sliding into his boxers, reaching for his semi.
-
“So, you guys are like back together now, huh?”
Steve’s question lingers in the air for a moment. He’s glancing at his small-town friend turned worldwide phenomenon from across the table, swirling black coffee in his takeaway cup.
Eddie looks out the window at the clouds passing by.
After getting over his initial fear of flying, since he hadn’t been on a plane until his early twenties, the rockstar decided he enjoyed it a lot more than he thought he would. Things were peaceful up here — especially since he could now afford private jets. Just him and his guitar. Even when he travelled together with the guys, they all got lost in their own thing too, as did Marianne.
The upcoming release party however, prompted an invite to his little sister as well as Steve. So he knew that unfortunately this trip wasn’t going to be a quiet one.
“Something like that,” Eddie answers, turning his attention back to his friend.
Harrington nods. “That’s good, man. She’s great.”
“That she is.” Eddie fails to contain a smile.
“I’m happy for you.” Steve’s words are genuine.
“Thanks, dude.”
The short exchange is interrupted by Max’s snort. The two boys look at the redhead currently splayed out on one of the recliner seats. A book in her lap, one that she’s not really reading, but she’s keeping up appearances anyway.
“To think we wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for my genius,” she retorts, a smirk now present on her face.
Eddie laughs lightly, but doesn’t say anything. He’s looking out the window again. His mind turns to you. He misses you, even though he saw you not even a half hour ago when you said goodbye before he got on the plane. He misses you. Anxiety building since neither of you are really sure when you’d be able to see each other next. “And that’s okay,” is what you said to him in between soft kisses. He’s repeating it now.
“She’s not coming to the party, right?” Red asks her older brother, briefly breaking Eddie away from his thoughts.
The rockstar shakes his head. “No.”
“You’ll see her soon,” his sister reassures, reaching for his forearm across the aisle, squeezing.
“I know, I know.”
“Then why the sad face?” Steve points out.
Eddie wishes he was alone. Then no one would be questioning him, even though he knows it’s coming from a good place. They just care, he tries to level his emotions, they’re asking because they care.
“Our last goodbye wasn’t so good,” he answers plainly.
Luckily both Max and Steve understand. They exchange a glance between themselves before returning to whatever activity they were engaging in prior to the start of this conversation: Red buries her head in the book she wasn’t really reading and Harrington resumes listening to music on his Walkman.
Eddie is once again glancing out the small jet window. He’s once again thinking about you.
And he continues to think about you when the plane lands. In the car, on the way to his Hidden Hills home. He continues to think about you when the house fills with people that are there to style him for the release party. He’s making small talk, his mind still centred on you.
You remain the centre of his attention, even when Eddie and the band arrive at the venue, and he’s being ripped ten thousand different directions. Picture here, sign this, talk to this person. He enjoys a drink and he’s still thinking about you. He’s wishing you were here.
The guys are introduced to come up on stage and even though Eddie is on cloud nine for this release, super proud of the record they put together, he’s wishing you were here to celebrate this with him.
He thinks about you as he sings one of the songs. Breaking News — a song about you, of course.
There comes a point during the night, a split second during which Eddie stops thinking about you. Not for any particular reason. Nothing spectacular happens for him to do so, he just… does. But it’s only a fleeting moment. He regrets it as soon as he realises. He especially regrets it when Marianne approaches him, a concerned look spread across her usually composed features — although the rockstar doesn’t pick up on her expression immediately.
“What did you think of the performance?” Eddie asks, smiling wide.
She doesn’t answer. Instead, she reaches for the half-empty glass in his hand and sets it aside before exhaling a sigh.
He furrows his brows, the smile fading as quickly as it appeared.
“Eddie, there’s been an accident.”
thank you for reading! really appreciate the endless & continuous support!

johnny x reader
word count: 2.5k
warnings: cussing, joke about sex, mentions of abuse and hitting
johnny and the rest of the gang were walking around town when steve asked, “hey, do y’all wanna go to the diner near that one dairy queen? the one up ahead where it has good hash browns and shit?” they all agree and headed towards the diner.
as they headed towards the diner, johnny couldn’t stop thinking about what he could tell his friends. he wanted them to know about the girl he likes, you, and to maybe get advice from them for what to do about the situation.
when they opened the door to enter the diner, a waiter asked, “hello, i hope you’re having a great day! how many people will be joining us today?” and dally with no hesitation, rudely replied, “the fuck does it look like? count with your own damn eyes.”
the waiter looked down and nodded, soda walked to him and apologized, “sorry about him… we have uh, seven people. thank you.” nodding and smiling at the waiter. he replied but didn’t look back up, “you guys can sit anywhere.” his voice flatter than how it was before, johnny feeling bad for him, knowing how it was to have his day ruined because of one small interaction.
as they passed the waiter, darry chose a booth and they all sat down, steve and soda on the inside of the booth on the left side while pony and johnny were next to them. across from steve was two-bit, darry and dally.
the topic of romantic partners and relationships came up, and johnny thought it was the perfect time to talk about you, just after dally was done talking and trashing on his ex-girlfriend. “man, i just realized sylvia was a fucking bitch, man. she two times me while i was in the cooler, like, who the fuck would think to do that to me?” he shook his head, almost as if he was replying to his own question, “i don’t know, man…”
the others in the booth began to agree, telling him he deserved better. ponyboy looked at johnny, seeing he was trying to say something but kept getting interrupted, so he said, “it’s okay, man. i’ll listen.” and turned his body towards johnny.
he smiled at the younger boy, appreciating that he noticed and observed more than others. blushing, he stated, “well, i’ve been talking to this girl… her name’s y/n and we’ve been hanging out… like, a lot. and she’s real nice, i just don’t know if she likes me—“
dally interrupted, “wait, you’re talking to someone, man? why didn’t you tell us?!!” the whole group started asking him questions, making johnny overwhelmed with too much attention. he muttered, “god, one at a time, man…”
they all started to become quieter, however, two-bit asked, “she a grease or a stuck up prick?” worried that johnny liked someone who wouldn’t be good for him. he hesitantly replied and looked away, “well… she ain’t a greaser but she isn’t stuck up… she’s got money and all that shit, but she’s nice!!”
silence overcame the group, he watched as they slowly started to turn their heads towards each other, wanting someone to say something yet not wanting to be that person. steve decided to speak up and stated, “don’t go for her.”
most of the gang started to agree, johnny feeling ashamed for even opening up to them, but he still really liked you. soda stood up for him, “hey, guys, come on. maybe she’s not that bad, he seems to really like her. you should bring her over to our house, johnny. that way we can meet her, and maybe you dickwads can see how she is before really judging her.”
he smiled at soda, thanking him silently. the gang started to nod and talk amongst themselves, speaking their own ideas to each other. darry stated, “you can bring her over to the house as long as you don’t do anything… bad. soda or someone can help you out, if you need advice for talking to her.”
johnny nodded at him and smiled, grateful for all that the curtis family had done for him. they later ordered their food and it was brought to them, continuing to talk about you and what the plan was if you came over. soda knew the most and had the most experience with girls, he had been in actual serious relationships, unlike dally and the others.
soda and pony would come in and start up a conversation if yours and johnny’s was dying down, eventually wanting to get to the topic of relationships or a vulnerable situation.
the gang had left the diner once they were done with their food, leaving in various ways as to not pay the bill. they walked in the direction of the curtis house, johnny was told to call you and ask you to come over sometime.
when they walked into the house, steve pushed him over to the couch, telling him to grab the phone and call you. johnny looked over to the rest of the gang, seeing them blocking the exits of the room, staring at him intently.
he murmured, “this better work.” and picked up the phone, spinning the dial to call your number that he had memorized. he held the phone up to his ear, hearing your voice and a, “hello? who is this?” his eyes went wide and he tried to keep himself from smiling, his friends quietly cheering him on and laughing softly.
“hey, uh, it’s johnny. do you think you wanna come to my friend’s house tomorrow? i could, um, walk you there. it would be with around six other people, but it’s mostly be us talking— if you’d want that, though.” he asked, his face turning into a shade of red, smiling at how your voice was in his memory.
you exclaimed, “johnnyyy!! i got nervous for a second, didn’t know who it was,” you giggled, “i bet i could go, i hardly have anything tomorrow. walk me there, you’ve been to my house before, you know the way.” he responded, “nice, i’ll be at your house tomorrow around… 2pm? we’d probably only be there around two hours, but um… oh, shoot, i gotta go, sorry. i promise ill be there, talk to you later!!”
you quickly stated, “bye johnnyyy!! i look forward to seeing you tomorrow!!” he hung up fast, he got too nervous when he was talking to you and thought he messed it up. he smiled at them and beamed, “she’s coming tomorrow!!!” all of them starting to talk to each other in happiness, looking forward to seeing you, the girl their friend talked so highly of.
as the day went on, he kept looking forward to being with you, as you wanted to be with him as well. even when he was talking to his friends and you were talking with your parents, you couldn’t stop thinking about each other.
when the day ended, johnny had stayed at the curtis house. he brought a few pairs of clothes, which included his pajamas and the clothes he would be in while he was to be with you. he was in ponyboy’s room, staring at the ceiling, still thinking about what to do when he would see you. ponyboy suddenly asked, “you worried about tomorrow?” and turned his head to johnny.
he thought for a second, not looking at him but stating, “a bit.” he paused, “i don’t wanna mess it up with her, man, she’s amazing…” pony looked into his eyes and knew johnny didn’t want to lose you, pony knew it would go perfectly tomorrow, it was just the way johnny was thinking that was wrong.
johnny fell asleep with you in his mind, and as he woke up, he immediately thought about you. it was in that moment that he realized he really needed that day to go well, he couldn’t handle it if it would go wrong. he got up from pony’s bed and walked into the kitchen, already smelling breakfast, darry, soda and pony already there.
“hey johnny, what took you so long?” soda asked, a little concerned about him. johnny looked to the clock to his left, realizing it was 12pm. he groaned, “shoot, sorry… i didn’t realize it was so late. i should go pick up y/n soon… i really can’t miss it.” putting his head in his hands and murmuring to himself.
he walked to the table and grabbed some breakfast, thanking darry for cooking. he continued talking to the three of them for an hour, he later got up from his chair and headed towards pony’s room, changing into his clothes he would wear to see you.
he walked out and brushed his teeth, talked to pony and his brothers for a few more minutes before the rest of the gang walked into the living room. “you excited, johnny? you guys gonna bang?” two-bit asked, dally laughing at the joke and johnny shaking his head.
“i know you guys just got here, but i gotta pick up y/n. bye.” he ran out of the door and walked in the direction of your house, arriving nearly ten minutes after he left. there was an open gate, seeing a well decorated two story house in front of him.
he looked around before knocking on the door, hearing footsteps and a, “coming!!” before the door opened, showing your happy face and your outfit, well accessorized and well dressed.
he looked at you up and down, thinking you were beautiful. “you look… amazing…” still in shock, not knowing someone could be as good looking as you. you blushed, smiling and him and closing the door behind you, walking towards the curtis house.
“you look real good, too, johnny. you always do.” you complimented, smiling at him. the two of you started up a conversation, still continuing as you got to johnny’s friend’s house. you followed him, watching him open the door and he stated, “don’t be nervous. my friend are real nice.” knowing it was half right and half wrong.
most of the guys were in the kitchen, eating and talking together. johnny introduced you, “this is y/n, she’s my friend i told you about.” you felt a little sad when he said that, wanting something more. and he couldn’t feel worse than how he did when he said that. soda teased, “uh huh, a friend…” the rest of the gang chuckling, you started to blush.
johnny led you to the living room, turning on the television and continuing to talk. he eventually asked if you had dated anyone yet, which you said no to, saying you didn’t think anyone who was up to your standards liked you. he replied, saying he felt the same.
the two of you began to switch the topic and talk about emotional problems that had happened at home or in the past in general. being that vulnerable with each other was something both of you weren’t able to do that often, you had to make people think you were careless yet careful at the same time. johnny didn’t have any reputation to keep up, he just didn’t want to open up to anyone.
as the both of you opened up to each other, he told you about how his parents acted. saying his father would beat him, his parents would yell at him constantly, both hated him. you felt bad, he nearly started to cry, tears forming in his eyes, him feeling embarrassed and biting his lip.
you put your arm around his shoulder and kissed his forehead, telling him, “i’m sorry that happened to you, johnny… you know i’ll always be here for you, right..?” rubbing his shoulder comfortingly and mumbling to him sweet words.
he looked at you with sadness and vulnerability in his eyes, you didn’t know if it was the right time, but you hesitantly leaned towards him. he leaned into you, too, and put his hands on your hips softly, kissing you lightly. when the two of you pulled away and looked to each other, you kissed once again.
then there was silence, one that you didn’t know if you dreaded or not. johnny told you, “i really like you y/n…” then asked, “would you, like, be my girlfriend..?” something he practiced after thoroughly thinking about the flirting signals you would give him.
you exclaimed and smiled with true joy, hugging him and giving him another kiss, telling him ‘yes’ over and over. the rest of the gang were too busy talking to notice the two of you were romantically together now. when it was around 4pm, you told johnny you had to be heading home.
as he walked you back, the two of you held hands and talked about your favorite moments together, times you had tried to flirt with him but he didn’t pick up on it and more.
by the time the both of you were at your house, you thanked him, “thanks for inviting me, talking with you was real fun.. we should do it again sometime. and um, thanks for asking me to be your girlfriend.” he chuckled at the end.
you walked a little closer to him, putting your hands on his chest and giving him a kiss goodbye, waving lowly and walking into your house, locking it behind you.
johnny was ecstatic, the two of you were boyfriend and girlfriend now, and he couldn’t stop smiling as he was walking back to the curtis house. when he opened the door, the whole gang was in the living room, waiting for him to come back.
they asked things like ‘what happened’ ‘did you guys kiss’ ‘are you together’ and more. he smiled widely and stated, “we kissed. and we’re together now too!!” the boys got up and started jumping around, congratulating johnny and cheering for him.
when you were at home, you were calling with your friends and telling them that johnny had asked you to be his girlfriend. they were happy for you, and when you hung up around an hour later, you were still thinking about him. kicking your feet and writing cute letters to him, drawing the two of you as stick figures and hearts around them.
johnny also continued to think about you for days until he saw you again, knowing he was the luckiest guy to ever live because he was with you. he felt a sense of pride, he had done all of that, kissed you and asked you out without any help. he completely ditched the plan and it worked out perfectly.
he would have it no other way.

jealousy, jealousy, skz
✧ pairing 0t8 x gn!reader
✧ genre/tw fluff!!! disgusting beautiful fluff, the tiniest smidgeon of angst… jealousy (obvs), just boys being cute and whiny lol
✧ w/c 2262 (around 250 each)
✧ a/n literally stayed up all night writing this lmao, hope you like it <333
Chan: So jealous immediately. I think he feels a lot of ownership over the people he loves, not in a weird toxic way, more like ‘these are my people and I'm going to love and protect them’ way, so when anybody looks or speaks to you in flirty ways, he gets uncomfortable really fast. Tries so hard not to make it noticeable or jeopardize your good mood, but is actually so upset about the situation it’s hard to hide. His body language changes right away, all of his easy posture and quick laughs disappear and all that’s left is little smiles and taut muscles. It has less to do with someone thinking his s/o is pretty and more to do with not knowing if the person is dangerous or not, and worrying for your physical and emotional safety–last thing he wants is for you to be hurt in any way, and having someone blatantly look at you reminds him that truly anything can happen :( I don’t think he could be jealous of the Kids at all, they’re literally his children like what are they gonna do? Thinks it's so cute when they hug you or ask for help with something, and wants more than anything for you to get along, so he’s only happy when you do. Only tells you he was jealous when you’re alone laying in bed at night, talking about anything and everything and admitting to be upset about the whole experience. Genuinely so confused when you tell him you know, and never learns that he is so obvious with his emotions–whether positive or negative.
Minho: Honestly, I don’t think he really does get jealous… He seems so secure to me that I feel like it wouldn’t even cross his mind to get upset, actually likes it a little–you’re beautiful and you’re his and he’s proud of that. Except for if it’s one of the other boys, then suddenly very annoyed and possessive haha. Not that he thinks any of them would actually do anything with you, but I think it just hits closer to home–like they could. He is a little mean about it at first, but it quickly becomes sulking, like a child not getting enough attention. His hold on your thigh gets tighter and his fingers wound with yours start pressing in more so it hurts a little, I can see him spacing out a little too–inwardly thinking about all the reasons the person thinks what they’re doing is alright. Most of the time, the boys aren’t doing anything, but something specific they do or say triggers the jealousy and won’t go away. He’s a boy who won’t come clean right away (even though you know exactly what’s happening), instead he waits till you go to bed to press himself on top of you and whine about how rude it was that they were flirting with you (they were not). Needs endless validation and physical reminders of your love for him before he goes back to being himself. Always acts like it didn’t happen in the morning and will laugh at you for thinking it was possible he could have felt that way, while having admitted to it 9 hours before.
Changbin: Very, very cute about his jealousy. Would never mention that it bothers him, wouldn’t point out someone’s stares or ask you to change anything about yourself to garner less attention. Is so proud of his little baby being so pretty they get noticed, but that doesn’t take away the fact that people shouldn’t come up to you. His jealousy would be so specific, he wouldn’t really care if it was just stares or people checking you out, but as soon as someone tries to make a move he is seething. Stares them up and down and looks so intimidating that even you are a little shocked, keeps this attitude until you leave and then needs to be coddled and loved until he will be back to normal. Loves how close to the boys you are but hates how that means he has to share you, he loves being the only one to know special things about you and gets grumpy so quick when he realizes other people know things too. Becomes so, so, so clingy when he’s jealous–hands never leaving your skin, not even for a second. His a million kisses a day becomes two million and he will be stitched to your side. Needs at least a two week recovery period where he is babied and taken care of before he can get over the silly feelings and remember how in love you are. Will not admit to it ever, it could be years in the future and he’d still say you didn’t know what you were talking about. Tries to act so tough, but is really just the sweetest boy to ever exist.
Hyunjin: Gets jealous over silly things and will make it your problem; most of the times it's just a joke, something to get you to fawn all over him and kiss him a dozen times. But because of this, it’s hard to tell when he really is jealous, characterized by melodrama and many questions asking if you’ve ever thought about not being with him come out after someone shoots their shot with you and fails. He is such a romantic that his s/o not being as fully in as he is would be something that would really worry him. Most of the time he can see how in love you are and recognize how strong your relationship is, but as soon as there is someone getting in the way of that it would be hard for him to ignore. I can’t see him getting too jealous over the boys, but would improvise drama level monologues of jealousy if he sees you sitting a little close to one of them on the sofa. One of the only boys where I think he would try to make it up to you, while the others may need comfort from their s/o, I think Hyunjin would feel guilty for second-guessing your relationship even if it was a completely normal emotion he felt toward it. Gives slow kisses and soft sorry’s for hours before he can listen to you tell him why you’re not mad. Loves so hard and so well that jealousy is such a malignant feeling to him, that he would try to separate himself and your relationship from it as soon as he could.
Han: Truly his worst nightmare. He would be such a cozy, sweet, domestic partner that it would probably be pretty rare to go out somewhere instead of staying in, and his mood would be demolished so fast if someone was looking at you or hitting on you in any way. Overthinking and anxiety flow as soon as he notices, and really needs to work his way up to confronting the situation. I believe he would succumb to his thoughts a little and need a lot of comfort from you to feel better about it. It’s not that he doesn’t trust you, or think anything could ever happen, but it’s such a reminder of the uncertainty that life brings that it makes him sad. Another one who wouldn’t really get jealous around the boys, but there are specific situations that would bring him down a little–like say you shared a snack with Hyunjin or watched his favorite movie with Seungmin, he is about to become a murderer. Just couldn’t take you doing any casually domestic activity with anyone else that it would annoy him to see it happen. Will be in desperate need of kisses and cuddles to make him feel better, but if he is jealous enough he may pretend like he doesn’t want any just so you could insist and unconsciously give him that validation that he needs. Demands at least two days of pure movie time with you to feel fully back to normal, and will in fact throw a fit if those needs are not met. He is just a sweet, pouty baby normally so it’s not surprising that under the right conditions these traits get magnified tenfold, but it’s okay because he’s so cute.
Felix: About to cry fr. I feel like he doesn’t like feeling any negative emotions associated with you, so when he does it hurts him beyond belief. Trusts you with his life, but as soon as he hears someone hitting on you he gets so sad. Hates that other people can talk to you lol, would rather the only people you speak to be your friends, his friends and your loved ones. He’s not possessive at all, but I do think he genuinely worries about people speaking to you and hurting your feelings or making you uncomfortable, so with the jealousy he is also just so concerned about the person's intentions. Sometimes I think he’d get really mad too, he is such a lovey person that there is no world in which everyone in the area doesn’t know he’s your boyfriend, so when anyone comes up to you he would also be confused at why they thought that was okay. Somehow gets even closer to you; fully wrapped around your bones like a secondskin, walking everywhere with you like you’re doing a three-legged race, a million kisses pressed everywhere his eyes can see. I don’t think he would get jealous about one of the boys being too close to you, he loves you all so much and trusts everyone that it wouldn’t even cross his mind to be jealous about it unless he was making a joke. He is definitely the fastest of all the boys to admit to it, he is so emotionally intelligent and kind that he’d let you know as soon as he felt it was a good time. In conclusion, he is a precious angel and we all know it.
Seungmin: Genuinely the most annoying little gremlin. Turns it on you immediately as if somehow you asked the person to keep sneaking peeks at you. Literally starts making fun of you, mockingly saying ‘wow you’re sooo pretty’ to cover up how upset he actually is about it. I feel like he gets confused when other people find you attractive, not because you’re not, but because you’re his and he just doesn’t think anyone should be looking at you for too long. Will not listen to you that maybe if he actually acted like your boyfriend in public people wouldn’t hit on you haha, he doesn’t see how never touching you and constantly teasing you doesn’t read boyfriend. If it’s one of the boys he’s jealous of and not just some rando, god save them; the meanest glares and most biting jokes he can come up with. Fronts so much in public, but as soon as you’re behind doors he is all over you–kisses all over and a dozen reminders about how much he loves you. Laughs in your face when you ask him if he was jealous, ‘do you want me to be?’ with the biggest side eye. Although I do think he is secretly a huge sap when it comes to his s/o, and will not accept you thinking he doesn’t care even if pretends he doesn’t, so apologizes really quickly if he sees you getting hurt by the nonchalance. Even though he won’t admit to it for at least a week, (everyone knows he was upset about it), he’s taking that to his grave–at least until you look at him for a little too long and he gets freaked out and cops to it lmao.
Jeongin: The fussiest little baby. Like seriously, pouting/stomping feet/crocodile tears fussy baby. See’s someone looking at you at a coffee shop and immediately begins overthinking: ‘do they like them?’ ‘Is that person cuter than me?’ ‘They know we’re a couple right? Right?!’ This all happens in a series of five minutes. Now, he isn’t the most touchy in public–mostly just a hand on your back or fingers intertwined in your pocket, but it should be obvious enough that you’re there together. Immediately stares at the person, all while pretending he isn’t upset, but you can tell right away. For one, the hand on your back suddenly wraps around your tummy to press your back against his front and his head leans down to curl into your neck. Secondly, and most importantly he starts whining about how pretty you are. Not in a cutesy way, like he’s genuinely frustrated that you’re good looking, so pretty that other people notice it too. His bottom lip is jutted out and his eyes are so wide, and you just know. You won’t say anything until you get home for fear of embarrassing him, but he’s noticeably more touchy throughout the day; holding you to him around the boys and glaring at any stranger who looks at you too long. Gets jealous even faster if it's about one of the Kids, has no idea why Chan would be talking to you that long and tries to will him away with his mind–is so embarrassed when you tell him what you were really talking about lol because it was definitely him. When you finally ask him about it later he’ll laugh and act like you’re crazy, as if he hadn’t been acting like a lunatic all day, until apologizing and yelling at you for being too beautiful. All in all very cute and pouty and very charming <3

One More Thing
Warnings: Age gaps? (reader mid 20s then all the dads of the show lol) I don't think anything else? Horrible grammar sorry.
Parings: Negan Smith x Y/N, Daryl Dixon x Y/N, Rick Grimes x Y/N
Summary: When Negan visits Alexandria for the first time and he plans on taking one last thing before he leaves.
Notes: Cleaning out my word docs. I have no clue what this is?? Only re-read once for editing.
Word count: 1.1k approx
Credit for divider: @Baexywth
“Well, well and who do we have here?” A man standing slightly infront of Rick sings out. I’ve assumed his name is Negan. After recent events. I look away from where people- his people were throwing random items from our homes into the street.
I make eye contact with him, unsure who he was speaking to. I glance around searching to see if he was in fact speaking to me or someone else.
“Cat got your tongue?” Negan asks his smile easing ever so slightly. He maybe evil but the salt and pepper beard and green eyes made him immensely attractive.
I eye him up and down for a moment, clearly taking too long when Rick speaks up. “That’s —”
“No! Rick. I’m speaking to her.” Negan cuts him off. He eyes me like I’m a meal, something he wants to devour. I shift slightly on my feet.
I wait one more moment seeing his smirk almost fade from his face before I answer. “It’s y/n” I say simply.
“What a pretty name, for a fine-looking woman.” He speaks low with a newfound smirk.
I glance once at Rick, then once to Daryl. Daryl looking the worst I’ve seen. I didn’t want to look away, but my instincts told me not to linger. I looked each one of Negan’s men in the eye before finally landing back to him.
“Not a woman of many words I see”
I don’t react just continue to hold his gaze. “Now if you don’t stop looking at me like that… We might just have to go somewhere… more private” His expression almost darkening at the comment. I scolded myself mentally for shifting at the comment. I didn’t want him to see me nervous, weak.
Ricks hand tightens around the bat he holds, his knuckles almost white.
I roll my eyes mentally for I was about to play into this man’s games.
“Excuse my… rude welcome. I don’t tend to play well with strangers.” I smile lightly. I intertwine my hands in front of me. More so to hold something and not show anger or nervousness.
He smiles brightly at my comment. “Oh my, do you hear that? A voice as sweet as honey!” He walks closer to me. “You, will be joining us.” He eye’s me up and down once more.
I eye Rick for a moment. Unsure of what to do.
“Walk on this side of me darlin’.” His hand gestures to the opposite side of Rick. I look at Daryl as I walk to Negan’s side. Daryl looks at me once then quickly back to the ground.
I wanted to run and hug him. Tell him he will be okay, but I can’t. Not without Negan knowing how close I am to certain people. Something in me is telling me to hide it.
︶︶︶ ⊹ ︶︶ ୨♡୧ ︶︶︶ ⊹ ︶︶
Sometime passed as we walked around, Alexandria. Negan mainly speaking to Rick but having small conversation with me from time to time.
“So, how did a pretty young thing like you end up at Ricks Camp?” Negan asks.
I always loved being referred to as an object. “I’m not a thing.” I turn to look at him.
He stops and looks at me tilting his head ever so slightly. “My bad darlin’. How did a pretty, young woman end up at Ricks camp?” He rephrased.
“Walkers attacked, he found me. Helped me out and well here I am.” I say holding my arms out for a moment. Locking eyes with Rick. I would never say it to him but how he stood right now was the most docile and weak I had ever seen him. Negan watches me for a moment.
“Ahh, Rick. Didn’t know you were the type to save a damsel in destress.” He laughs out. Grabbing Ricks shoulder “Or was it just cause she’s hot?” He says loud enough for others to hear but into Ricks ear as if a secret conversation. Rick tenses at the comment. Holding Negan’s stare.
“I’m not one to judge but she’s a little young for ya Rick.”
“No” I start to speak. “I mean, it’s not like that.”
“Oh, and how exactly is it?” Negan turns and questions me. I look to his jacket, the belt at the bottom, the leather all still intact. I like it, if he dies I want it.
“I mean… He sees me as a sister or friend… not… anything else.” Hell for all I knew Rick seen me as a child, but that was a fact I wasn’t willing to admit to myself. Negan laughs at me more of a chuckle then a full belly laugh.
“Oh, Darlin’…” He is cut off by a commotion that takes his attention. Although fear goes through me that he will hurt someone else. I’m thankful for the conversation to come to an abrupt end.
Did I find Rick attractive? Yes. Did I find Daryl attractive? Yes. Are both men old enough to be my father? Also, yes. Negan was good at telling when someone was lying, and I did not want to admit I had any attraction to older men. Especially Rick and Daryl.
︶︶︶ ⊹ ︶︶ ୨♡୧ ︶︶︶ ⊹ ︶︶
Negan’s men were filling up the last of the goods they planned on taking from us. Daryl had been put in the back of a truck. I was no longer able to see him. I could feel my heart break when he didn’t respond to the asinine request of pleading his case to stay.
“Oh, and Rick… she comes with us.” My heart drops for a split second it feels like I’m in a free fall. He can’t mean… I look between Negan and Rick.
“She—” Ricks eyes pleading.
“Now.. consider it a gift. I’m making it one less mouth for you to feed.” Negan states sternly.
“She’s an asset—” Rick attempts once more.
“I said! She comes with me, or do I need to teach another lesson?” His tone signifies there is no room for debate and although asking a question, his demeanour tells its rhetorical.
“Stop… I’ll go…” I step closer to the two men. I didn’t want to leave, this had become home but I knew I needed to do my part, and right now that meant going with him to keep the peace.
“Y/n” It’s a whisper. Rick wants to argue, but even I know he won’t fight Negan.
“I’ll be okay…” I say quietly looking at Rick once more before going over to Negan.
“Now, that’s a girl.” Negan smiles triumphantly as I stand beside him. “You’re riding with me sweetheart.” I look to the truck and see Negan opening a door, waiting for me to get in. I look over my shoulder one last time and then climb inside the cab.
A/N: no sweet clue what this is...

thirteen crows: epilogue
summary: some insight on how they treat you weeks, and months later.
word count: 1.8k
previous chapter
series masterlist
a/n: i wasn’t gonna post an epilogue to this, but i sort of liked the idea of looking at their dynamic months later, so i decided to write this short little drabble-type thing. enjoy<3
warnings: stockholm syndrome(??), controlling behaviour, no use of y/n, fem!reader, plus size!reader, race inclusive!reader
three weeks later
You leave your boss’s office with tears in your eyes, keeping your head down as you walk to the kitchen to catch your breath so no one can see the sadness written across your face. You were barely in his office for 10 minutes, and he wasn’t that upset with you, but you’ve never been good with confrontation.
He had pulled you into his office before you started your shift and showed you some reviews that he found online about the Thirteen Crows that day. There were two reviews with your name specifically added, ranting about how bad your service was and how rude you were to them.
Your boss wasn’t necessarily mad; he knows that you usually have no problems with customers, but he was still rightfully worried about the reviews.
You try to finish your shift with a smile; desperate to not receive any more negative reviews about your service, but it’s difficult. Either Eddie or Buck has been by your side for the last few weeks; ever since you found out who they really were, and while they make butterflies erupt in your tummy sometimes, they also scare the hell out of you, which doesn’t help your nerves.
They told you they wouldn’t hurt you, not if you follow the rules, and you want to believe that, but you feel on edge every time you’re with them. Which is most of the time. You’re afraid to do anything; afraid that something you see as harmless will send them into a rage.
You also know that there’s no escaping them either. You know why they’re with you all the time outside of work; they won’t let you leave them.
When Buck finally picks you up from your shift, you stay silent in his passenger seat, eyes focused on the passing scenery as his thumb rubs gentle circles on your exposed thigh. Buck can sense your unease; it’s different than usual.
You tried to speak to Tara after your shift; she’s noticed the way you’ve shut down in the past few weeks, but you don’t talk to her. You don’t know how they find out, but they always know when you speak to anyone in a way that’s not just merely being friendly, and they do not like it.
“How was work, sweet girl?” he asks after a few minutes of silence. You blink a few times as you snap out of your daze, then look over at him, chewing on your lip. You don’t want to tell him about your boss and the reviews. God knows what he and Eddie would do.
They’ve continued killing, although they haven’t told you anything about it. They monitor your screen time, and everything else you do, so you don’t know the exact details. You’ve heard people talking about it at work, though, and you’re sure it’s more of the people they’ve met through work that have “deserved it.”
“Good. Long night.” you speak in a quiet tone, shrugging. His eyes dart from the road to you for a second, inspecting your face. His eyes narrow, like he doesn’t quite believe you, but he doesn’t push any further. You’re thankful for this, because you really do like your boss, even though your conversation with him has you on edge.
When you get back to Buck’s apartment, he helps you get ready for bed, and then you’re off to sleep, but not before his head is between your thighs yet again, desperately chasing the taste of your release.
The next morning, Eddie comes to pick you up and takes you to your apartment to pick up some more of your things, then brings you to his house for dinner. He sits at the dinner table while you prepare dinner, and when he, you, Buck, and Christopher sit down to eat, his smile is wide. He loves seeing you like this; his little family, finally complete.
You spend the night at Eddie’s house, your back pulled firmly against his chest, and while you’re not completely relaxed, you sleep soundly. You know Eddie wouldn’t dare do something with Christopher home, and these kinds of nights are the most relaxing for you.
six months later
You gasp softly when someone runs into your shoulder and makes you drop the can you’re holding. You turn quickly and look up to the man that’s run into you, and he looks down with an apologetic smile, raising his shoulders slightly.
You scramble to pick up the can and put it into your cart as he murmurs an apology, but you shut him down immediately.
“It’s okay, I wasn’t looking.” you tell him, although you know that he’s the one that ran into you. You’re so used to immediately backing down that it’s become second nature.
His eyes glance down at the dented can in your cart, and he licks his lips before he speaks again.
“You really shouldn’t buy that one; it can make you sick.” he tells you, stepping a little closer and ducking his head to speak in a quieter voice. With the gleam in his eye and his smile, you’re pretty sure he’s trying to flirt, even though the actual words don’t seem especially flirty.
You give him a smile as you feel your cheeks heating up. Of course you know that already, but this interaction surprised you, and you barely had time to think about your actions.
“Right. Thanks.” you tell him, trying to keep your body language disinterested. You know how Buck and Eddie would see this, and you don’t want anything to happen to this handsome stranger because they felt unnecessarily threatened.
You also don’t want them to take away your outings. They finally rewarded you with unsupervised time outside of the house to run errands, and it took months to finally gain their trust. You don’t want to do anything to ruin it now.
“I’m Will, by the way.” he says, seeming not to get the hint. You give him a tight-lipped smile and grip the handle of your cart, beginning to walk further down the aisle.
“I should really go.” you tell him, and while his brows furrow in confusion, he doesn’t try anything else. You let out a shaky breath once you’re out of the aisle, trying to stop the shaking in your hands as you create more distance between you and the man.
You don’t bother with the rest of the list. You’ve already gotten most of the items, and you don’t want to risk anything else happening.
You pay with the cash Eddie gave you before he dropped you off, and you make sure to keep the receipt and the change in a safe place until you can give it to him. They keep track of your finances, and ever since you lost your job, you have no choice but to rely on them completely.
When you get to his truck, you get right into the passenger seat and let Eddie put the groceries in the back. When he gets back in the driver's seat, he reaches across the centre console and pulls your head toward him, capturing your lips in a chaste kiss.
He sees your nervous expression when he pulls away, and he narrows his eyes as he keeps a hand on your cheek. He doesn’t have to prompt you though, as the words tumble from your lips before you can even think. It’s better to tell him than for him to find out later.
“There was this guy in there, he bumped into me. He apologized, tried to talk to me, but I walked away. I didn’t want to talk to him, I promise.” He smiles at your last sentence, tilting his head to the side as he looks into your wide eyes. They’ve trained you so well.
“It’s okay, sweet girl. You didn’t do anything wrong, did you?” he asks. His voice is soft, but there’s a hint of condescension as well.
You shake your head quickly, frowning, and he smiles wider. He rubs his thumb along your cheek, and you let out a small sigh, leaning into his gentle touch. You can’t help but relish in his soft touches; they’re the only ones you’ve really interacted with since you got fired from your job 4 months ago, and if it weren’t for them, you’re sure you’d be going stir crazy.
They leave you at Buck’s that night, all cuddled up in Buck’s bed with your favourite show on and promise they’ll be back soon. They give you sweet kisses and tender touches before they go, knowing that you won’t leave while they’re gone, not anymore. And when they come back, they know you won’t ask about the specks of blood on their clothes, or the glints in their eyes, even though you know about everything.
They’re always especially worked up when they get back from nights like this, and you’ve learned not to ask questions. They happen less often now that you’re with them all the time, but they still have this desire to go out, just the two of them, and have some of their own fun.
You know they’ve done something; you know it has to do with the man from the grocery store, and you know they won’t tell you a thing, which you’re thankful for. You thought you’d be more used to their actions after so long, but it still makes your stomach churn when you think about it.
You let them lay you down on Buck’s bed anyway, and although you hate knowing what they’ve just done, you like how much attention they pay to you when they get home. They’ve showered by the time they touch you, so you tell yourself that what they’ve done is gone. Their slate is clean, their actions are washed away; down the drain and never to be thought of again.
As they pay attention to your neck, and your pretty chest, and your plush tummy and thighs, they’re so glad they thought of their plan months ago. You’re completely dependent on them without your job, and that’s exactly how they want you.
It was easy to make those fake reviews; they knew that the original two weren’t enough, so they kept adding new ones until your boss had no choice. And although they knew you’d be upset about the harsh words, they also knew that they’d be able to make you feel better. You’d forget all about your shitty job when you’re completely taken care of by them, and they’ll make sure to give you anything you want as long as you keep being their sweet girl.

Hello, love! I miss you and daddies stucky. So what if their little really like being carried around but sometimes she’s insecure about her weight and think she’s too heavy for them. How would daddies handle that? Would they still carried her or rocking her to sleep? (Hope you’re doing fine, lots of love! 🥺❤️)
Hi there love! 💜
Ohh interesting idea, i really love it!!
But i hope it’s not how you feel tho, you’re absolutely beautiful the way you are, you were created perfectly and plans that life has for you is what you need to be. So who cares if you’re a little heavier than your friends or need to change your clothes because they are too small; you grew up, you change, your body change and it change with what you need.
Don’t ever forget, you are beauty, you are gorgeous and you are you no matter what happens

Summary :
Being carried around is the best thing on earth. You love your Daddies’s arms so of course being in them is just THE perfect spot for you.
You love how they envelope you with their arms, you love their sent, you love resting your head on their shoulders and the fact that they let you fall asleep on them and they just don’t mind it. They keep doing their things with you in their arms.
Every time you can you ask to just climb on them. They usually let you, they love when you do that.
For you, it’s the safest place in the world. Where you feel good, where you feel held, where you feel protect.
Protect from the world, protect from others, but not protect from yourself..
You know most people go through those kind of awful thought about themselves but you, you are the little girl of two superheroes, you shouldn’t feel that way, you’re protect by them, it shouldn’t happen.
And yet here you are
Feeling bad because you Papa had to put you back on the ground because he had to go take care of some heavy things. Are you too heavy to be in his arms even with heavy charges ?
Of course not, he just doesn’t want anything to fall on you because he had to hold everything in one hand. But that thought never crossed your mind, why would it ?
So you’re left alone on the ground of the hallway. Your daddy will soon come back from grocery shopping but it seems so far away for your right now.
Your head click up when you hear the door. A happy smile takes now over your frustrate one as you see your daddy stepping inside. He has lots of bag in his hands but you know for sure he wouldn’t mind to make you some space.
As you jump on he carefully wrap an arm around you so you won’t fall down ‘’well hello you’’ he chuckles at your excitement. It doesn’t even do 30 minutes that he lefts.
‘Welcome back home’’ you say squirming around to get comfy. He goes in the kitchen and put you back on your feet making you confused
‘’Wait baby, it’s too heavy’’ he growns as he drops you down carefully and quickly wraps both of his arms around the bags to drop them as well on the kitchen counter.
Your face fell, was he speaking about you ? You didn’t quit hear all his words because of the sounds made from the bags but you heard the essentials.. too heavy
He doesn’t hear you running upstairs, too busy organizing the kitchen.
Dinner time has arrived and you’re still in your room, looking in the mirror, trying your clothes to see if they still fit and asking Bucksy if your body has changed and if it hurt him when you sleep on him at night.
A gentle knock on your door make you turn around and you see your Papa walking in your room ‘’dinners ready, princess’’ he softly says.
As you get up, he gets ready to take in his arms like you usually ask but this time you walk past him and go downstairs.
It wasn’t for being rude or anything and your papa didn’t took it that way, it was just so he wouldn’t feel bad or like he has to.
Bucky saw the weird look on your papa’s face but didn’t question it, he would eventually when you wouldn’t be around. It can be anything like it can be nothing but it can still be a tropic from work and to protect you they never talk about work when you’re around.
‘’Alright time for a bath now’’ your Daddy says after doing the dishes. You really like what your Papa had made tonight for dinner and you enjoyed eating it but you hold yourself to take another portions.
‘’won’t need help’’ you murmur. You’re way too ashamed for one of them to see you naked.
Your daddy frowns at the same time as your papa. You love when they’re the one washing you, it’s always a playful time that they cherish with you and you just love their touches and attentions on you ‘but baby-
‘’is oki’’ you smile a little before going upstairs. They of course won’t let you take your bath alone. It’s not only because they love it that they do it but because it’s dangerous if none of them have an eye on you.
Your Daddy follows quickly behind you ‘hey what’s going on’’ he asks as he sees you taking your pyjamas
‘’Nothing’’ you mumble before trying to go into the bathroom. Your daddy grabs you by your waist before you’re able to do that and goes sit on your bed with you on his lap.
‘’Tell me what’s going on, beautiful’’ he gently says, caressing your forehead with his finger.
You look at him in the eyes for some times and end up hiding your face on his neck. He turns you around so that each of your knees are on each side of his legs and hold you close, feeling you starting your tremble.
You Papa take a seat next to the both of that and gently stroke your back. Both of them waiting and letting you getting it out.
‘’You don’t feel well today ?’’ Your Papa asks after some times
You shake your head, of course you don’t feel well but not how they imagine.
‘’Beautiful, you know you can talk to us, we’re here to listen to you’’ your daddy quietly says before dropping a kiss on tope of your head
You pull away taking deep breath to calm, still avoiding their eyes. Your Daddy’s hands fall on top of your naked feet who are beside his knees while your Papa’s take a hold of your hand, both of them softly stroking what they’re touching.
You’re scared to speak now because you’re scared they’ll feel bad and that’s not what you want
‘’Take the time you need baby but you need to tell us, don’t speak for us but do it for you, you will feel a lot better i promise’’
You whine but eventually speak ‘don’t want you to hold me anymore’’ you quietly say
‘’Why not ?’’ Your Daddy asks
‘’ ‘cause i too heavy and don’t want you to feel bad’’ you say, hiding your face. You hate being vulnerable.
Your daddies faces fall and they immediately understand what’s going on and what happened all day
‘’Oh baby’’ your Papa breathes out
‘’My love look at us’’ you do and your daddy keeps going ‘’baby do you know who we are ?’’ He smiles down at you ‘’we can hold a building with you little finger and won’t even feel it’’
Your eyes widen, is he comparing you to the weight of a building ?
‘No no keep that thought out of your mind, daddy didn’t mean to say it that way’’ your Papa quickly say after understanding your gaze ‘’he just meant that you could never be heavy to us, you are our little girl and you are perfect the way you are’’
‘’We love you for who you are and not for how you are’
‘’Yes’’ your papa agrees ‘’and you are not heavy, you are perfect’’
Your lips goes upside down as you try not to fall into tears
‘Okay how about,’’ your daddy looks at your papa before speaking again ‘’how about we skip bath tonight’’ he looks back at you ‘’I have the perfect idea to make you feel better’’
He stands up with you in his arms and start to rock you, murmuring soft melody and turning off the light of your room. Your Papa takes place with you take along with your daddy’s mouvement.
Gentle fingers are sliding down your nose, soft hands keep your feet warm by holding them, beautiful voices filled your ears with kind words and your anxiety slip away like dirt wit the soap.
Your eyes are too heavy to stay open and your mind is too sleepy to stay awake, taking you with her for a good sleep in your favorite arms.

— Rosa Pastel
pairing ʚɞ ⁺˖ ⸝⸝ e-42!miles morales x reader
summary ⁺˚⋆。°✩₊ you find out about miles being the prowler which leads to a breakup.
warnings ✧˖ ° reader is given feminine nicknames, angst, a few curse words, toxic relationship, possessiveness, mentions of murder and violence (not towards reader), threats.
m. list, main m.list.
playing ⋆。˚ rosa pastel by belanova
translations ✧࿓☾ princesa: princess
most of the time you didn't question all of the things miles said or did, like that one time he beat up another guy for looking at you in a way that according to him was absolutely suggestive or that time he went through your phone when he saw you laughing and smiling as you texted.
"i just don't want anything to come in between us, princesa." he had said when you got mad at him for that. "here you can check mine."
you refused to check his phone and that was something you deeply regretted because maybe just maybe you could've found out about this sooner.
now you stood in-front of him, miles having come through his window unknowingly of your presence inside of his room. you had frozen when you were about to tackle him in a hug, looking at what he was wearing.
this wasn't right.
miles wasn't a criminal. he could be intense and cold to others, but he wasn't one of those people who hurt and killed others. and he most definitely was not the prowler.
"mami, what..." he stared back at you, his mask coming off and his eyes wide.
"miles... what the fuck is this?" you pointed at his suit. "please, please tell me this is some kind of stupid joke."
but it wasn't a joke, you knew that he didn't like jokes. it reminded you of that time that you decided to do a prank on him about you cheating, how badly that ended. with him breaking your phone, you in tears, him blaming you for getting him mad and then comforting you telling you that he didn't mean to blow up on you and that he would buy you a new phone (which he did) and made you promise that you would never prank him like that again but there was a dark edge to his voice. a threat, so you never pranked him after that.
and it took a while but you found out that the new phone was connected to his and he could see everything you did on it, who you called, who you texted, your bank account, everything and when you spoke out to him about it he made up an excuse about how it was for your safety and that he just wanted to protect you.
you saw nothing wrong with that, but now the longer that you stared at him with that suit on the faster that everything was coming back to bite you in the ass.
"i can explain, chiquita." he said, taking your hands in his.
"no!" you pushed him away, taking your hands out of his. "miles, you can't be s—serious." your voice broke.
tú no eres aquel que prometió seria mi superhéroe
was this really the boy you once met? the one who was considered a genius and was appointed to tutor you because you were failing one of your classes? the one who asked you out on a date about two dozen tutor sessions later? the one who didn't kiss you on your first date because his mom said that it was rude? the one who finally kissed you on your fifth date? the one who after 1 year of dating gave you a promise ring, promising to always love and protect you from the cruelty of this world?
why did he promise that when he was part of that evil?
“explain, but… but don’t touch me.” you gulped, suddenly feeling a sense of fear.
“i became this when my dad died, you saw how bad things were going in this city. how evil the people were becoming and—”
“you decided to join them?” you interrupted.
“let me speak, mami.” he had the nerve to demand. “i wanted to protect you and mom, so i needed to become this.” he tried to reason.
“no you didn’t, you could’ve found another way to protect us. the prowler is the biggest criminal right now and you come to me with this bullshit about protecting your mom and me? you protect us by killing? by robbing? and by doing whatever else it is that you do?!” you snapped, feeling anger overtaking your fear.
you had never yelled at miles, no matter how mad he made you, no matter how much he stressed you out by canceling dates without a reason but now you knew why and you knew that this change of tone was not appreciated by him one bit.
“watch your mouth.” he glared at you. “you should feel grateful that i do that—”
“oh, i’m sorry that i don’t like the fact that you kill people.”
“those people aren’t innocent. they—”
“you are not innocent either, miles.” you shook your head.
“mami, i really love you but if you don’t stop interrupting me—”
“what? you will kill me like you did them?” you challenged.
if looks could kill, you would be dead. “imma let that one slide, but don’t do it again. now listen to me, i don’t go around killing people who don’t deserve it. i kill criminals like me, people without a heart, i know i ain’t innocent but i do this for a cause and it is to protect the two most important people in my life right now. you are one of them, princesa. i don’t want anyone to hurt you in any type of way or to come in between us.”
he had said the last sentence so many times before that it was graved into your brain. it hurt a lot because right now you had only one thing in mind.
yo te olvidaré
“you are the only person coming in between us.” you sighed, tears threatening to spill out. “i’m sorry miles, but i can’t do this. i can’t be with you, i don’t know why it took me so long to realize this but what we have isn’t healthy and i also do not wish to be with someone who is a criminal and controls me so much.”
“mami, you don’t mean that.” miles almost sounded like he was begging for you to change your mind but one look at his cold eyes and you couldn’t tell.
me olvidaras
“don’t call me that.” you said, grabbing your handbag. “the start was nice, but it has become too much since then and right now it was made even worse.” you took off the promise ring, instantly missing the shining gold weight on your finger.
you stretched your hand out, passing it to him but he made no move to take it just staring at it so you decided to grab his hand, opening his palm and putting the ring on it before closing the fingers around it.
“goodbye, miles.” you left his room, letting the tears fall free down your cheeks and onto the floor. walking away from all the beautiful and bad memories that you had made with miles.
hasta nunca
“you’ll come back, princesa. i’ll make sure of that.”

it’s your fault - toxic!bf!rafe cameron
summary: your boyfriend, Rafe, is always putting your relationship in fucked up situations, and every time you try to talk about it, he knows exactly how to convince you that the fault is actually yours.
word count: 1.7K
warnings: TOXIC RELATIONSHIP (i do not condone this behavior, this is all fiction), cursing, use of the words bitch and slut during an argument, argument itself, sexual innuendos at the end (oral m receiving), manipulation, this is purely toxic!rafe and love blind reader
“Hey babe, I’m home” Rafe announced entering our shared apartment.
“Hi” you mumbled from your spot on the couch, not even glancing at him.
“Just ‘hi’? No ‘welcome home’, or ‘how was your day’, or greeting kisses?” he said while dropping his keys, trying not to sound rude, what made it sound like he was mocking you.
“Yes, just ‘hi’, Rafe” you talked back, getting up when he sat beside you.
“What’s gotten into you, huh?” he said in a more serious tone, frowning at your actions.
“I’m the one who should be asking you that. It’s almost midnight, Rafe, where were you at?” you asked, not wanting to show your full anger yet so you tried to maintain your tone calmer.
“What do you mean, babe?” he got up too to level his girlfriend “I was at the office, helping my dad, where else would I be?” he chuckled like it was the most obvious thing in the universe.
“Don’t bullshit me, Rafe, you know how I hate it when you lie” you scoffed rolling your eyes and turning your back so you wouldn’t be facing him.
“Lying, y/n, seriously? I’m sorry but I don’t know where this is coming from” he shook his head, nervously running his hand through his messy hair. He’s definitely lying.
“Oh really?” you didn't restrain yourself from changing your voice for a moment, being fast on reaching for your phone on the couch “If so then look at this and try to explain me if this looks like an office, or if Topper is now your dad, and if your job is doing lines of coke, because if you can’t make me recall that, then yes, you are lying” you stated with a fake laugh, showing him a picture in your gallery.
“Where did you got this, huh? Who’s sending you shit like these?” Rafe asked impatient, trying to grab the phone from your hands, but you were quicker in saving it on your back pocket.
“It doesn’t matter who sent this” you stated, this time staring directly at him.
“Yes, it does fucking matters. It was JJ, wasn’t it? That son of a bitch, I don’t think the Thorntons hired him to spy on people, do you? I hope he’s got food for the next month, cause he’ll need some time to find another job after I-” your boyfriend started pacing around and speaking non-sense even more angrily than before.
“Will you just shut up?” you interrupted him roughly, making him stop and face you “Can’t you see that the problem here is not who sent me this, or where the fuck you were? The problem is that you keep fucking lying to me, Rafe!” you spat the words at his face.
“Oh no, cut it, y/n, I don’t have patience for one more of your tantrums” he rolled his eyes, massaging the knot between his eyebrows.
“Of course, you don’t. When it comes to me the only thing you ever know is lies and more lies. You lie about where you’ve been, about who’s with you, about what you’re doing, you lie saying that you’re gonna stop drinking and stop snorting, and you still fucking do it every time! How am I supposed to trust our relationship like this, Rafe?” your voice breaking a little after your outburst of emotion, holding close to your chest your own fingers where you counted all of his mistakes.
“Okay, y/n, you wanna know the truth? That’s what you wanna hear to stop acting like a bitch?” he spat back, coming closer to your face. In the first months of your relationship you always got kind of intimidated by how bigger Rafe looks when compared to you, but now you created balls of courage to face him.
“Oh please, if you’d let me” you mocked faking a half smile, verbally ignoring that he called you a bitch but giving him a stare that could kill.
“Alright then, I really wasn’t at the office, I was with Topper, he called asking if I was up to have some good times and I agreed. We bought drinks and some coke and stayed there until now. Is it enough for you?” he explained staring at you and waited for your answer. It stung, hearing him say the truth like he didn’t cared about how fucked up it was.
“Why, Rafe, why would you do that? When you asked me to move in I thought you wanted to be closer to me, thought you wanted to have us as your priority” you have finally let your guard down, all your anger has now become disappointment, and it is completely perceptible in your eyes and your words.
“So, what now? Just because us is a priority I can’t spend some time with my old friends anymore?” he questioned arching his eyebrow.
“That’s not what I’m saying, Rafe” you sighed, taking a deep breath before continuing “What bothers me is that you could’ve told me, you know, sometimes is good to let your girlfriend know where you at, and who’s with you. But now I understand why you simply can’t do this, is because you’re a goddamn crackhead, who promises changes and nothing ever actually changes!” you ended up letting your nerves get the best of you, shouting at his face, and giving the slightest push you could to his chest.
“You watch your fucking mouth before talking shit about me again, alright? That’s the last time I’m gonna let it pass” he grabbed you hand that touched him and dropped it beside your heated body, warning you through gritted teeth.
“It’s always the last time, isn’t it? The last time you get drunk, last time you come home too late, last time you get high. I’m so fucking tired of this, Rafe” you rolled your eyes at him and stomped towards your room, hoping he wouldn’t follow you. Which of course, he did.
“You’re tired? Give me a break, y/n” he protested while following you in heavy steps “I’m the one who’s fucking tired here. I’m tired of working my ass off to give you decent living, I took you out of that shit hole in The Cut, I gave you a better life, better food, better clothes, everything you always wanted, and now I have to deal with your crazy outbursts every time I try to do something that does not include you? I’m sorry if while you’re having a princess life, getting your hair and nails done, I’m fucking stressing myself out with business shit to provide you the life you thought you deserved in your dreams” he said violently, waving his furious hands in the air and towards you, but never laying a finger on you.
“But why do you need to keep doing what you do? With the alcohol, and the drugs… that’s not what I want to you, baby. We could work this out together, we could do things for you too…” you practically pleaded this time, reaching out for him not in anger, but more carefully.
“No, baby, we couldn’t. And you wanna know why?” Rafe changed his tone like water to wine, making his words sound like the most kind question he’s ever made, and you nodded your head “It’s because you get on my nerves. I can’t work nothing out when I’m already stressed and listening to your whining just makes it worse. That’s why I need to get drunk, or high even, because that’s the only way I can ignore how tired you can make me sometimes. So, before getting mad, acting like a selfish little slut, and throwing your stupid tantrums, remember that if the way I act pisses you off, it is all your fault” he said it all calmly, in a low voice, caressing your cheek and finished with a sweet smile, looking into your eyes and watching how they watered with his words, while a small pout formed in your face.
“Get out” you whispered, voice breaking as you turned away from his grip to sit on your bed alone.
“Come on, babe, you’re not gonna start crying now, are you?” this time, it wasn’t like he was mocking you, he sounded serious, kind and loving.
“Get out, Rafe. I don’t wanna see you right now, I need to be alone” you repeated yourself gritting your teeth, keeping your eyes closed while a teardrop escaped from each one of them.
“Nah, uh, uh, none of this, babe, come here, yeah?” he sat beside you, being fast to gently grip your waist and bring you to his lap “Look at me in the eyes… there you go, baby” he reassured you when you finally looked at him, freeing your face from some lose strands of your hair.
“Stop it, please” you mewled even though you had already gave in, just because part of you hates when he acts like that. Rafe’s never so sweet as he’s after a heated argument.
“No need, it’s okay now, huh? We’re okay, I forgive you, and I just told you that so you can get better, right?” he whispered shushing you, and using his rough yet delicate thumbs to wipe the tears that streamed down your face “We’re gonna get better, can I count on you? That you’re gonna get better?” he asked holding your face in both hands.
“Mhm- Yes, I’m sorry… that I stressed you” you whispered, looking away and shyly biting your lip to hold your little cries.
“It’s okay now, baby. You just gotta promise me this is not gonna happen again, yeah? Can you do that?” he pecked your lips, bringing you closer in his lap.
“Yeah, I promise, Rafe.” you sniffled and nodded slightly, earning a bright smile from him.
“That’s it, my good girl” the nickname forced a smile out of you “I knew you would understand me, cause that’s what you are, right? My good girl?” he said lowly between a sequel of kisses around your lips and your jaw.
“Yeah, yours” you nodded again, words escaping through heavy breaths.
“All mine” Rafe smiles again, before bringing his lips to the shell of your ear to whisper “Since you’re a good girl for me, why don’t you get on your knees and start making up from your little tantrum, huh?” he´s kind, but you know he’s ordering, so you have no other choice than obeying.

________________________________________________________
Meeting Yang Jungwon must have been the flip in your life that you never expected. He came out of no where and took you for a roller coaster of emotions that you thought you didn’t have anymore.
But it seemed you were proven wrong, all your emotions needed was someone new to bring them out the hiding they were in.
Even Jungwon was shown emotions he never knew existed before, but when he met you, the person who hated the mere idea of love, he was shown all kinds of different emotions and he simply couldn’t get enough of it.
You were someone who once adored talking about love, you thrived in your own bubble that surrounded love that always reminded you of the time you once were in love.
Yet, that bubbled popped and you were faced the cons of love that you ignored and blocked out. Now you hated having to hear the mere mention of Love. Even thinking about love made you sick.
You were now simply an advocate hater of love.
You sat in a cafe, waiting for your friend to arrive. You never expected her to be on time, she never was. So you passed time by aimlessly scrolling through your phone, when you felt a presence near you.
You slowly looked up from your phone to see a nervous person standing in front of you as he played with his fingers and gaze on the floor.
“U-um hello” You recognized him as one of the cafe workers that you always see whenever you came in here
“Hi?” Your tone showed you confusion as he gulped down nervously, his gaze never turning to you
He took a deep breathe before switching his gaze from the floor onto you, he gave a a small smile.
“I know this is awkward but since I always see you in here. I was wondering if you would um like to go see a movie with me?” You were taken back by the sudden his sudden confession
“Oh I’m sorry but I don’t really do stuff like that” You apologized, you tried your best not to come off as rude
“It’s okay, I’m sorry to bother you” Soon you were left alone at the table and you let out the breath you didn’t realize you were holding
“And another one gets rejected” You knew that voice anywhere, it was your friend who finally arrived and just so happened to witness the scene, you glared at her as she defensively raised her hands
“I was just speaking the truth” Your friend sat down in front of you as you only sighed and sunk into the cafe chair
You didn’t like having to shut down any romance that was thrown your way but your hatred for it was much more stronger than your kindness.
“You know, I don’t do stuff like that” You groaned as you looked at your friend, who understood, she knew why you didn’t do love anymore but it still hurt her to see how had everything had come to
You were once the most known helpless romantic around.
“How about we head out? I have a few good store we can go to” You weakly smiled at your friends attempt to get your mind off romance, you were thankful
You nodded as soon you and your friend were already out the cafe and walking through the sidewalk to spend their day together.
The two friends now waited to cross street, they had spent a few hours looking around all kinds of different stores and were anticipating on heading back home.
When the sign finally signaled that they were able to cross the street, both sides of the street began to walk to reach their destination.
There was a boy who was walking in the opposite direction from you and your friend. You saw how he held flowers in his hand, ready to give it to someone.
Jungwon smiled brightly, excited but more nervous than he had ever been. He was finally going to confess to his crush of one year.
As you and Jungwon were walking in the opposite direction, neither of you paid attention to anything in your surroundings.
Jungwon focused on confessing to his crush while you only anticipated getting home, not wanting to dwell on the rejection you gave to the cafe worker.
The two of you ended up passing each other, not acknowledging each other, but there was no other way to acknowledge each other, after all you both were just mere strangers.
“Jungwon, over here” He heard someone call out to him and he immediately knew who it was, he was quick to hide the flowers behind his back as he happily smiled and waved his free hand to his crush
He walked over to his crush with an extra bounce in his strides, he couldn’t contain his excitement and nervousness. He could feel his heart pounding out of his chest and he was afraid his crush could hear it.
This was the day he would confess to his crush. He’s been waiting over a year to confess his feelings so he knew there was no going back after this.
“Jungwon its gonna be okay don’t worry” Jungwon’s close friend Sunoo tried to comfort him, who only groan into the palm of his hands
“I’m not even sure if I got rejected or not”
He prepared himself just in case he did get rejected by his crush, and he had thought that he was ready for that outcome if it were to happen but when it actually happened, he didn’t know how badly it would take a toll on him.
“Don’t dwell so much about, I’m sure everything will turn out fine” Sunoo continued trying to comfort him but was then shooed away by Ni-ki, another close friend of Jungwon
“I’m sure you two will be dating by the end of this month” Ni-ki told while Jungwon only shook his head that still rested in his hands, he felt exhausted and all he wanted to do was rest knowing he had school the next day
Jungwon waited in front of the school for his two friends to arrive, it’s been over a month since the rejection and
the last time him and his crush had talked to one another. His crush avoided him, not wanting to deal with confession a month ago. Jungwon understood and respected his crush decisions, he knew better and wasn’t going to pry.
As he waited for his friends, he could see his crush walking home and it pained him that he wasn’t walking along side his crush.
He tried to shift his gaze away from his crush but he found himself making sure that she was safe until she was gone out of his sight. He sighed deeply to himself before gasping when he heard Sunoo’s voice behind him.
“You should go if you want to catch up” Jungwon shook his head, denying the suggestion his friend had given him, he didn’t want to be a bother so he decided he’ll simply be in the distance, waiting for his crush
“I thought Ni-ki was going to walk with us today” Sunoo pointed out the friend they were waiting for, Jungwon tore his gaze from his crush to his other friend who he saw walking alongside a person
Jungwon saw you laughing at something Ni-ki had said and he didn’t realize the blooming of a curiosity in his mind. It was rare for his friend to find other’s as friends so it definitely spiked his interest of you.
From time to time, Ni-ki would walk with you after school as you lived within the same area and today wasn’t any different. All kinds of different conversations were brought up but what made the two of you walk in silence, was the accidental mention of an old friend.
You could feel your heart dropping at the mere mention of the old friend. You felt like a splash of cold water hit you as you were reminded with memories you had with him. It made you feel almost sick as your lips slightly quivered, you hated it.
The old friend that you once were in love with.
“I’m so sorry, I didn’t mean to mention him” Ni-ki muttered as he realized the change in your mood when you arrived at your house, you shook your head kindly
“It’s fine, I’ll see you tomorrow” You gave a quick smile before opening your front door and walking it, not sparing another glance towards Ni-ki
You knew he meant no harm and you weren’t going to take out the frustration you had for someone else on him. When you went to your room, you placed your backpack on the ground before laying on your bed.
You began to zone out, remembering of how times were back then. How you were so in love with someone who was bound to leave you without a trace or a goodbye, you were reminded of the time you never wanted to remember.
“What do you mean another class will be joining us?” The school day was about to end, only having one remaining class so Jungwon was surprised to hear of the sudden conjoining of a class
Jungwon straighten up in his seat when saw the classroom door open and in started walking the other classroom. To his surprise, his saw his two friends smiling at him, he waved them over but was surprised to see another person, you tagging along with them.
When his friends arrived, he was confused but nonetheless still greeted them and you, who greeted with a smile. You noticed the only seat available was next to him, you took the seat as the two of you gave another awkward greeting but after that, neither of you said another word to each other.
As the teacher began to speak about the excitement of having a conjoined class period, your ears faded the voices into the background but you could feel a gaze on you, the moment you sat down next to Jungwon.
You looked around the room to catch the glimpse of whatever was making you feel that way, but came short when you found nothing. You sighed, not wanting to dwell on it any longer so you turned your gaze back onto the table.
As you played with a random pencil, you felt a tap on your arm and you turned to find a paper, drawn on it was a board of tic tac toes with a question mark next to it. You looked to see Jungwon smiling softly, his dimples being the first thing that caught your eye before looking back to the front of the class.
You found yourself smiling for a moment before grabbing the paper and filling out one box before passing it back to him with a light tap on his arm.
You and Jungwon found yourselves playing multiple rounds of tic tac toe, only to have end in tire out of the multiple rounds.
But before you and him could have a rematch, you could hear the mentions of a project that snapped you out of the daze you didn’t realize you were.
“It’s a long prone project of getting to know someone new, someone that you have no knowledge about. This project will be over due in five months, it will consist of the pair having to get to know each other and to conduct a presentation about the information and what you learned from the person”
Ni-ki and Sunoo had randomly paired with two other students that had went up to them, already been wanting to get to know the two for months but never getting the chance to.
Leaving Jungwon and you still sitting by each other. the two of your finally turned to face each other and gave a smile, a silent agreement to the two of you becoming a pair for the project.
“Hi” Jungwon was the first the speak up, even though the two of you were playing tic tac toe with each other to pass time, you both were still complete strangers only having a mutual friend that was no where near
“Hi, so we are partners for this project” Jungwon nodded his head at your words and you gave yet another awkward smile as silence filled between the both of you
“I’m going to need your number for the project, and we can figure out how to do it” He felt embarrassed having to ask a stranger for his a number but he simply thought of it for a grade and a possible friendship nothing more
You wrote down your number on his phone, creating a contact that had you name with (school project) next to your name. Soon, you and him tried to talk in order to fill the awkward silence.
And what wasn’t noticed by either of you was Jungwon’s crush gathering the courage to go up to him and asking to become partners for the project. His crush stopped walking after realizing that you and Jungwon were project partners.
You were trying to create conversation with Jungwon and his crush could see his intrigued eyes as he listened to all of your responses. It was something his crush never experienced Jungwon do for anyone else before.
Neither you and Jungwon realize the worlds you both were aimlessly walking into, you only had just properly met him today and you already captivated him.
Now as the first three weeks went by, you were a little defensive with the project and ignored Jungwon here and there only giving mere greetings.
It wasn’t something you had against him, you were just rather selective with friends and who you talked with keeping the group small and minimal, but for the grade you needed to talk with him.
You sighed heavily as you saw him walking to class, you felt nervous going up to him but pushed it in the back of your head and went up to him. When you tapped his shoulder he turned around and gave a friendly smile when he saw it was you.
“Hey, I was wondering if you want to go somewhere after school so that we can complete the project?” He nodded when you finished talking with a smile to agree with the terms
It was awkward but you figured these next few weeks would be the only time you truly interact with him and after that, you both would sieze to forget that the other exist.
As you were walking out of your class, you found Jungwon waiting for you. You gasped slightly seeing him and he gave a quick apology with a smile, which you were growing accustomed to see.
Soon you and him were walking side by side out of school, trying to having basic conversation about how each other’s day went, etc.
Your friend who was looking for you, witnessed the seen before her was shocked. She knew you were rather defensive of getting close to people, so seeing you and Jungwon walking out of her sight was something she didn’t expect to see.
She wondered why out of the people that tried to get close with you, Jungwon was the only successful one.
“Alright, I have to ask one last question”
You and Jungwon had spent majority of the day together after school, and it was now night fall and no matter how many times you told he didn’t have to walk you home, he still insisted.
“What’s the last question?” You thought you both completed the project by then so you wondered what this surprise question was
“What’s your favorite romance movie?” Jungwon had his fair shares are watching different types of romance movies in order to fuel the helpless romantic he is
You almost scoffed at the mention of a romance movie but cleared your throat not wanting to be rude.
“I don’t like romance movies” Jungwon gasped hearing this and stopped walking which caused you to stop walking as well
“You don’t like romance movies?” He wanted to make sure if he heard you right, he thought it must have been his mind playing tricks on him
When you nodded your head, confused with the reaction, you could see Jungwon sigh.
“How come?” He wanted to know why you didn’t like romance movies and you were hesitant to respond, you didn’t know whether to lie or tell the truth
When you looked to meet his eyes, you felt everything fade around you. Your mouth didn’t catch up with your mind as you suddenly blurt out the reason why you didn’t like romance movies.
“Because I hate romance”
You went to open your locker and when you did, you were met with a flower and stuck to it was a post-it note. You’re grumbled and took the flower out of your locker already knowing who it was from.
You took the sticky note off the flower and read it.
‘Have a great day :)- YJ’
Ever since he found out of you hating the idea of romance, he was set in having you seeing the positive aspects of it. You didn’t need to be shown the ropes of love, you once lived in it and now you despised it with your whole being.
You knew he meant well but he didn’t know why you hated love so it aggravated you to see him trying to show you the positive aspects. You were done with love.
Before you could do anything else, Jungwon appeared at your locker with a smile.
“Do you like the flower? The meaning behind it is possibility” When you turned to look at him, his smile was still bright and you could feel a churn in your heart and you didn’t like that
“Here’s a gift for you, a flower of possibilities” You faked smile before handing the flower back to Jungwon and closing your locker shut and walking away to go to your next class
You could feel Jungwon’s gaze on you and you felt terrible. You didn’t know why you were more aggressive when it came to him than anyone else, but you decided to push past the feelings. There was nothing more to your feelings other than aggravation.
Jungwon didn’t know what came over him but he was determined to get you to view love in its positive aspects. His life was slowly becoming consumed by you, which is something he never experienced before.
His long forgotten crush had been trying contact him, wondering why where he was, already regretting ignoring him the first two months after the rejection.
It’s been too long and Jungwon’s crush needed him back. But no matter how hard his crush tried to talk with him, he was always by your side, whether you wanted to or not, he stuck by you with a bright smile on his face.
His crush would see the way you and Jungwon were interacting with each other, how Jungwon would offer to carry your bag for you, how whenever he wasn’t looking you would take a secret glance towards him.
It was obvious what was unraveling between the two of you, but neither seemed to accept it. Jungwon’s crush sighed heavily, witnessing Jungwon trying to hand you the flower you repeatedly push back to him.
His crush could practically hear his chuckle as he put the flower into your bag which you tried to stop him, but ended up giving in, tired from endless banter.
Jungwon smiled brightly in victory as you simply rolled your eyes and continued to walk, Jungwon along side you with the flower hanging out of your bag.
It was obvious, Jungwon was falling in love with you.
“Wait what?” Your friend stared at you in utter shock, there a little less than two more weeks until the project presentation in front of the class and you had nothing
“I know, I just don’t know what to put on it” Your friend sighed heavily before shaking her head lightly
“Do you not remember anything that he’s told you?”
“No I do, it’s just I don’t know how to put everything into words” You groaned already feeling frustrated, you were given five months for this project and you were coming short with nothing to show
“Keep it simple then, just write down the things you like about him. It doesn’t have to be anything too specific, just the things you noticed”
“You can’t lie to me and say there’s nothing, you’re practically with him twenty four seven now. There’s more than just a thing or two” Your friend’s words sunk into your mind as you saw her getting up from the chair in your room to grab her belongings
“Where are you going?”
“You have a long project to complete, so I’ll leave you be. Keep me updated” Your friend smiled before bidding goodbye and leaving your bedroom, you could hear the front door close and you were greeted with the silence of the house
You laid onto your bed, looking up at the ceiling as your friends words replayed in your mind like a broken record. You wondered through the memories you created with Jungwon these past few months, looking for things you noticed about him.
You took notice of his kind gestures, him always walking you out regardless how far both of you were, how he always offered to carry your bag. How every day you saw a note in your locker with sweet nothings written on it signed off by him.
You felt an uncomfortable thump in your chest that made you rise up from your bed. You didn’t like the sudden burst in your heart when you thought about him, you anxiously gulped down. You certainly didn’t like the wave of emotions that was crashing down on you.
The two weeks passed by like a flash and before you knew, it was the same conjoint period that you grew fond of. The teacher kept going down the list of the students, they all presented about their partner and you could feel the jitters settle into you.
You nervously bounced your leg, looking around the room to see everyone was invested in what was the be shared about the partners. You could feel your heart pounding in your chest, but you were snapped out of your daze when you felt a hand on your shoulder.
You turned to your side to see Jungwon smiling as a way to comfort you. He could sense the nervousness radiating off of you which he didn’t know why but he wasn’t going to pry. He just wanted to bring you ease.
You felt the same thump in your heart as you flattered out a smile before looking away and clapping at the classmate that finished their presentation. Soon you heard Jungwon’s name be called, you could hear his deep sigh before rising from the table and walking over to the front of the class.
You could see the slight shake in his hand as he walked and you noticed he was nervous, it was the same habit you took noticed of whenever he felt nervous.
Jungwon smiled to the front of the class before bringing up the paper.
“Hello, my name is Yang Jungwon and today I will talking about my partner who I am glad to call a friend now” His gaze went over to you, his smile never faltering before turning back to look at his paper about you
“During the duration of the project, I didn’t know if I would learn a lot from her. We didn’t talk to each other in the beginning, only merely giving greetings and walking away as if we didn’t have a project to complete about each other”
“Yet, thankfully we were able to finally come to our senses and realize we had to complete this project regardless of the remaining time we had. We wanted the good grade”
“Yet, I found a critical information about her. She didn’t like romance movies, now for me I adore them so imagine my shock. I was surprised so I asked her why she didn’t like them”
“Before I tell you all, I did ask and she has given me permission beforehand to disclose why she doesn’t like romance movie. But when she told me why, I was beyond shock. She hated love.”
“Now me personally, I adore love and I am a stubborn and determine person, so I was set to have her view the positive aspects about love”
“As the more time we spent together, the more I got to know her. I saw the habits that not many other people knew of, I saw a side to her that she didn’t just show to anyone”
“I felt grateful that I was slowly but surely welcomed into her world, I’m still grateful to this day. I try to imagine what my life would have been like if I never met her and I could see a long painful ride for me”
“I know we have our disagreements but regardless of those, we are still able to see each other for who we really are”
“Now I know I mentioned earlier that I adore love, I still do and that can never change but she showed me a perspective of love that I always ignored, love isn’t something that’s always stunning and beautiful. But rather, it has it’s moments where it’s dark and painful”
“Love is something stunning and beautiful but could also be dark and painful. Whenever we fall in love we take that risk knowing anything could happen, but those risk are taken because it means you get to love the person you love”
“It’s a bittersweet emotion and I am someone who’s experienced it. She made me realize what it was like to fall in love with someone”
“I took the risk of love because of her and I wouldn’t want it to be any other way. I’m Jungwon and this is what I learned from my partner”
When Jungwon finished his presentation, students in the classroom were crying, touched by his words. There were soft sniffling and when everyone turned to look in your direction, they were surprised to see you gone.
Jungwon didn’t realize you had disappeared until the end of the presentation and he felt his heart drop to his stomach that churned. He faltered out a smile before excusing himself out of the classroom, when he stepped out he was quick to look around the school for you.
His hands shook anxiously as it settled into his mind that you were no where near. You left without a trace and he didn’t know where you were. He put his back against a wall and crouched, he hung his head low as he let out a deep sigh.
He prepared himself for rejection, but he never prepared himself for the heartbreak of his first love.
You felt your lungs burning by how fast you were running, you felt like you were going to fall down but you pushed yourself. Your mind raced with millions of thoughts, yet the main one was Jungwon.
Jungwon and his confession to you. The moment he finished his confession and you felt the fast pace your heart was going out you knew what it meant.
It scared you, you were never meant to fall for Jungwon. But you found yourself smiling when you heard his confession, you could feel the tears brimming in your eyes when you heard him saying he took the risk of love for you.
You fell in love with Jungwon but you couldn’t or more like you didn’t want to face the reality, that Jungwon brought back the side of you thought you lost. He made you fall in love after so long and it scared you.
You were happy to know he felt the same way but you didn’t know what to do so you ran away. You thought this would be able to help give yourself time to collect yourself before having to face him, if you even could.
When you reached your house, you went in and went straight to your room. You landed onto your bed and you groaned loudly into your pillow, you were feeling the conflict of your emotions.
You were overjoyed yet you were scared and most of all you felt terrible. You ran away when you loved Jungwon the same way he loved you all because you didn’t know how to deal with the foreign emotion again.
You didn’t go to school for the rest of the week. Jungwon always waited by your locker, still putting the sweet nothing notes in there just in case you came back, he would wait outside your classroom hoping one of the students would be you.
Your friend obviously noticed this, she knew you had nothing against Jungwon in fact, the night before you were just talking to her on how much you missed him but he didn’t know that.
So she decided she was done waiting on the sidelines having to painfully watch the two of you long for each other.
“Jungwon” Your friend called out for him, he turned around at the familiar voice and he gave a weak smile
“Go to her house” Your friend wasted no time, she knew the two of you needed each other and she was going to make sure you get the happily ever after you deserve after so long
“What?”
“Go to her house and talk to her. I know the situation is complicated but please trust me that she needs to talk to you” That was all your friend needed to say to have him drop everything and rush out, not caring about missing school anymore
For you, Jungwon was willing to drop anything and everything just for you.
It was a rainy afternoon and you were watching a movie on your tv. It was a romance movie that Jungwon never stopped talking about when the two of you spent time together, he said it was his favorite one.
Right when the movie was going to reach the climax of the two main leads, you heard a knock at your door. You paused the movie and stood up from the couch, you weren’t expecting anyone especially in this weather.
You walked over to your front door and looked through the small window, you gasped lightly and opened the front door. Your eyes widen to see Jungwon standing at your front door, clearly soaked by the rain.
He didn’t expect you to open the door but seeing you again made his heart swell with happiness and he gave you a warm smile, the smile you missed dearly.
You brought Jungwon into your house and gave him a towel to dry himself off. He had the towel wrapped around his neck as she dried off his hair, there was a silence between the two of you that neither dared to ruined just yet.
You wanted to savor the moment before having to face the reality. When Jungwon took off the towel from his neck, he faced you and you could feel the tension, you nervously gulped as you looked back at him.
“Are you okay?” Those were his first words to you after not seeing after a week, you were surprised but moved your gaze from him onto the floor
“What are you doing here?”
“I wanted to check up on you, I needed to know that you’re okay” You felt your heart burst in that moment as you tried to hide the smile wanting to plaster onto your face
“Now that I see you’re okay, I’ll take my leave” Jungwon couldn’t handle it, he felt like his heart was going to burst out of his chest soon, he doesn’t know why he listend to your friend, you clearly didn’t want him here
When he started to walk away to your front door, you stood frozen. You didn’t want him to go but you couldn’t bring yourself to speak to make him stay.
When he opened the front door that was when you finally came to your senses.
“Jungwon I love you” Now you didn’t expect to be so straight forward with your feelings but your mouth spewed the words before you could stop yourself
He stood frozen before whipping his head towards you, not believing what you had just confessed to him. You stared at you with wide eyes, as you looked away feeling awkward with the sudden confession.
During the week you were gone, you took the time to organize your thoughts and feelings and that’s when you could admit your love for him. You didn’t have to deny it any longer.
Suddenly, you felt his presence near you, you didn’t dare to face him. There were not words exchanged at first, until his soft voice filled the silence.
“Can I hug you?” He didn’t want to intrude in your comfortability, he knew you despised love and he didn’t want to make you uncomfortable
You felt your heart beat faster at the thought of having Jungwon in your arms, still not looking at him, you softly nodded your head and you could feel his damp arms embrace you into a hug.
His hug was the definition of comfort, the comfort you didn’t know you need until you now had it. You wrapped your arms around him to tighten the hug, you didn’t care if he could hear the fast pace of your heart or the dampness of his clothes.
You had him in your arms and that’s what mattered to you.
You don’t know how long the two of you hugged for but when he pulled away from the hug, you moved the damp hair piece from his face as you admired it, Jungwon’s eyes were warm and filled with love as he looked you.
“I’m so sorry for running away that day. It wasn’t right for me to do that. I thought your confession was beautiful, but I was so scared feeling the fast beat of my heart, it felt like it was going to burst out of my chest. I didn’t realize that I fallen for you until you were done with your presentation”
I didn’t expect to experience love again but you changed that. You awaken the emotion that was buried deep inside my heart”
“Yang Jungwon, I was the one that took the risk of love for you. I am the one grateful to have you in my life, I’m happy to know you were the one that made me believe in love again”
“I’m satisfied to know you’re the one I love” Your confession made Jungwon’s smile never leave his face,
When you both looked at each other still having the hold on each other, Jungwon felt himself being drawn to you as you began to meet him halfway.
While, being a helpless romantic Jungwon never had his first kiss but he didn’t feel scared or nervous. He felt happy to know that it was going to be with you.
When your lips met with each other, he felt like he entered cloud nine. The way your lips met with each other felt like the final two puzzle pieces connecting together.
When you and him pulled away, feeling a little breathless. You both entered a fit of giggles as Jungwon wrapped his arms around you again. It was unspoken but the both of you knew that this was where you exactly wanted to be.
You and Jungwon were finally starting a happily ever after together.
“You still going to hate love?” Jungwon asked and you felt yourself chuckling in his embrace not responding to his words
You could feel him rest his head onto your shoulder and you could practically feel the bright smile that radiated off of him.
“It’s okay, you’ll just be my anti-romantic”
