The Boys Preference: Being A Fire Supe

Requested: Heyy can I request the boys preferences to dating the reader that's a fire supe, maybe they radiate alot of heat so they like hold them for warmth? (I hope you see my vision lol) - anon

Butcher hates sharing the bed with you, especially in the summer. You're a million degrees, and you just make the heat and humidity of the night worse. He does, however, love that when you're engulfed in flames, your clothes burn off. You always make sure you have another set of clothes, or at least Butchers jacket, to cover you up. He whistles and hollers and cheers you on and, after you're safe and covered, makes tons of jokes, many of them sexual. He needed to warm up to you at first, no pun intended, but after he got to know you, he was able to overlook his own bias against Supes and fall for you. His favorite thing is holding your hand. Your hands are so warm, especially when you're nervous or excited your skin can get so much hotter. Despite some of the discomfort he knows how powerful and necessary you are, to the team and to him.

Hughie blushes uncontrollably when he first sees your clothes burn off. You've gotten a lot more comfortable with it over the years, so you're not as fazed as you used to be. Hughie's never cared that you're a Supe. He knows there are good ones out there, and you're one of them. Still, he's getting used to you. Your relationship is pretty new, and he doesn't want to overstep, but he's got a lot of questions. Sometimes, it's uncontrollable. You'll boil just about anything you're holding. The shower steams as soon as it touches your skin. You rarely wear a jacket even in the dead of winter. For the most part, it's under control, but if you're really scared or worried, that's it. You're up in flames. He tries to help you when you're in that state, talking you down, offering support, and making sure you have nothing to be embarrassed about. You apologize profusely, but he shrugs it off. He loves you even if you burn through every piece of furniture. You'll figure it out together.

Annie met you when you were in The Seven. You and Lamplighter were a bit of a duo. Thank goodness Vought had the technology to make you a suit that wouldn't burn away every time you used your powers. That's about the only thing you liked about Vought. When Annie left, you were right beside her. In the beginning, she was afraid you'd be like everyone else, but you quickly proved that theory wrong. She fell for you instantly. She doesn't mind that you run hot, especially in the winter when the insulation in the apartment is shitty. She knows you have a lot of insecurity attached to your suit, something you held on to, all those years you spent with Homelander and the team, so she tries her best to talk it through, to get you to see just how powerful you are. It takes a long time before you start believing her. You work on your confidence together. You aren't anyone's sidekick. You're a superhero.

M.M. has a lot of issues with you at first. He doesn't like any Supe. You really have to prove your goodness, which is even harder because you like him so much and end up saying the wrong things. After he gets to know you a little better, he warms up to you. He still doesn't love the whole Supe thing, but you're a good asset for the team and you make him laugh. Once you start dating, you're a little more open about your abilities. You boil the pot when you're cooking with your hands and you light candles with the tips of your fingers, you let go of some of the control you had over your temperature and radiate as much heat as you like. When you're protecting him, you're while body is engulfed in flames. He's never seen you like that before, powerful and unapologetic. He's definitely left speechless, thought you can't tell if it's showing off your full abilities or the fact that you burned your clothes off. Either way, you don't mind.

Frenchie loves your abilities. He thinks you're powerful and dangerous and definitely a huge help in the fight against Homelander and Vought. It does help that, whenever you go all out, he gets to see you naked, though he's working on creating undergarments that don't burn away. He knows you have a lot of self-blame about being a Supe, wondering how your life could have looked had you not been able to burn through every chair you sat in or was able to feel fear and rage without bursting into flames. He thinks you're perfect just the way you are and reminds you of that constantly. He loves giving you nicknames. His favorite is Petite Flamme. He wants you to be proud of yourself, not insecure. You might think you're destructive, but he only sees power when he looks at you. Homelander should be afraid when he's up against you.

Kimiko never knew you without your powers, at least not for long. You were both held captive, both injected with Compound V. Whoever you were before then no longer exists. It was hard to control. They'd put you in separate cells. You had nothing that would catch fire. Just you and the concrete. Still you became friends and later a couple. She was never afraid of you. Where others saw destruction or uncontrollable power, she saw strength. She doesn't blink twice when you burn off your clothes or become a human heater, making the room twenty degrees hotter than it normally would be. She tells you she could never be afraid of you and she means it. When you unleash your full abilities she's awestruck, not scared. You're so much more powerful than you give yourself credit for.

#53: The Dossier (1.06)

It looks like Jadis and I unfortunately do have something in common - we both be writing pages and pages about Richonne 😋...

So after the pretty theme song, Rick opens doors where Pearl is waiting and happy to see him. She wants Rick to tell her what happened now that he’s given the others a debriefing. Rick says there was turbulence and their helicopter was struck by lightning. And then Rick says, “We were going down over water and Bethune shoved me out. She saved my life. Not hers, mine.”

And y’all, the way Rick can’t help but have his tone and expression soften when talking about Dana Bethune. 😇 As has been established, it's tough for him to play the role of Man Who Is Not Madly In Love With The New Consignee. 😋

I like how the story Rick crafted is one where Dana saved his life. That Bethune sure is a little superhero for Sergeant Major Grimes the way she stays coming to the rescue lol. But it’s fitting because, of all the fabricated parts of their stories to Thorne, the truest truth is that Michonne really did and does save Rick’s life. 

Rick thanks Pearl for bringing Dana in. But Michonne still has Pearl in her feelings so she doesn’t want to be associated as she scowls and says, “No you brought her in.” And Rick sure did - years ago at a prison. 😊 Michonne even thanked him for it. 😇

Rick, never above pulling the Okafor card with Pearl, says “Why don’t we just say it was Okafor. That we were just keeping his thing going.” Pearl and Rick look at each other for a moment as Pearl seems like her days of being loyal to Okafor are over.

And as Rick and Pearl looked at each other I was like - Pearl, you can’t tell that your brother Rick appears real rejuvenated after that helicopter crash? Like the man was looking fine and full of life after the time he’s spent with his wife. But Pearl never did know Rick like she thought so she still hasn’t put anything together yet. 

Pearl notes how her thoughts on giving up have changed as she and Rick walk down a hall. She acknowledges how she and Rick gave up a lot to be here and then she sounds extra culty when she shares that she now realizes that giving up can be a sign of strength and being committed to something bigger than oneself. Had me looking at her truly like...

She says, “Giving up made me understand what we’re really doing here. Hopefully, you will understand too.” Rick says he wants to understand…and he does, just not for the reasons Pearl thinks. Because he and his wife have a whole plan to expose what the CRM are really doing here.

Pearl says she’s glad Rick made it because it is up to them but not like how Okafor thought. Pearl suggests Okafor died because he was never fully present with the CRM - but actually, Okafor died because Michonne and Nat had to get their lick back. 👌🏽

And then Pearl says that they are meant to be a part of the CRM and have to let go of Okafor’s 'BS.' Rick tells Pearl, “Well show me the other way” and Pearl is happy to hear that as she walks and he follows.

Then we get to see what Michonne is up to as she sneaks into the CRM. She’s stealthy making her way in and is quickly able to get into Jadis room which is covered in art. I feel like an appreciation for art is the one thing Jadis and Michonne had in common.

You could say they also had thinking Rick is fine in common which is fair, but as many have noted, there aren’t any paintings of Rick in Jadis room and I agree with those who felt like that could suggest her suggestive come-ons with Rick had a lot more to do with liking that it made him uncomfortable than actual attraction. 

Pearl takes Rick to the woods where Beale kills walkers in solitude. She tells Rick that Beale wants to talk to him and before Rick approaches Beale, Pearl seems to want him to understand how eye-opening and 'life-changing' this next encounter with the Major General will be so she tells him, “Rick, this is it.” But like...

So then Rick greets Beale with a salute and Beale gives him more insight into himself and his perspective. Throughout talking to Rick in the woods, Beale places emphasis on how they are 'the dead ones.' That was true for Rick for a long while but now he has Michonne back and has returned back to being the ones who live. 👌🏽

Beale is humbled by Rick returning when he didn’t have to and so he says he’ll share some time and some info with him.

In Jadis' room, Michonne searches through Jadis belongings and finally spots a wiry silver cat sculpture tucked away in a corner near a drawing of Father Gabriel.

Jadis would put the dossier in a cat statue after knowing Rick took her cat statue all those years ago and wouldn’t give it back because it belonged to Michonne now lol.

I do like the choice to have the dossier - this paper that caused so many complications - be placed inside a cat sculpture. Seeing Michonne holding it was a nice callback to the cat sculptures she’s had in the past - the one Rick got her from the heaps in Season 7 and the too-damn gorgeous rainbow cat she got when bonding with Carl in the OG Grimes Family 2.0 episode Clear. 🥲

Michonne is able to remove the document and has an emotional response as she reads it. I'm glad they showed us portions of the dossier so I could read some of it too. And upon reading it…y’all, Jadis was out here straight snitching. 😑

The way she was writing pages about Rick and Michonne I really was like…nawt Jadis writing her own twisted version of a Reveling in Richonne post. 🙃

Some of the things I caught from the letter is Jadis admitting that she had an arrangement with Rick after trading him when he was injured. She mentions Alexandria Safe Zone and that Rick is actually an A. She writes that, “Rick led his own alliance of communities.”

Then I do like seeing that she talks about Michonne as Rick’s wife even tho first and foremost she needs to keep his wife’s name out of her mouth and dossiers.👌🏽

She wrote, “Rick’s wife Michonne is the individual known as Dana Bethune.” She exposes that Michonne was searching for Rick and shot down the helicopter that killed Okafor, not knowing Rick was aboard.

Jadis acknowledges Richonne is a force to be reckoned with as she writes that Rick is a natural-born leader with several strategic abilities and strengths that make him a “formidable opponent.” And is. 💯

And she again refers to Michonne as Rick’s wife and says, “Her unwavering loyalty to Rick and her relentless determination make her an equally dangerous adversary.” She really said look CRM, Rick's wife is ride or die and nothing to play with because when she sets a goal, she persists and achieves it. 💅🏽

Basically, this dossier can be summed up as Jadis knowing that Rick and Michonne are the baddest to ever do it, and she's trying to tell the CRM...

She writes that the community Richonne built is well organized and she says that destroying Richonne is "necessary" because they pose a grave threat to the CRM's operations and mission.

And one last time let me say - Jadis, you beast. 😒 Like the fact that she had to complicate Richonne’s life even in death by writing this dossier and advocating for their destruction. She got what she deserved in ep 5. Honestly, better than she deserved. 

So then Michonne emotionally tears the dossier up into tiny pieces and she too is pained by the fact that this little paper caused so many issues and nearly kept her from reuniting her family. Its an impactful moment as she finally gets to destroy the very thing that tried to destroy her and those she loves.

And then she picks up the pieces and gets ready to head out when the first wrench is thrown in the plan as a soldier realizes someone is inside Jadis’ room.

The woman enters and Michonne takes her out and well…one thing about Michonne and Rick - they don’t exactly have a crisis of conscience when it comes to killing if they have to.

So then Beale goes into his speech with Rick, convinced that after their talk everything will change for him. Beale asks Rick, “What’s the worst thing you did to make sure someone else survived?” And then they cut to some of Rick Grimes’ most pivotal and classic TWD moments.

They show when Rick killed Shane in season 2, killed that prisoner in season 3, killed the termites at the trough in season 5, and the montage concludes with Rick’s absolute craziest and most iconic kill when he took a bite out of Joe the Claimers throat.

Rick knows that’s gotta be the number one wildest thing he’s done, and so he says, “I killed someone with my teeth. Like they do.” I love the delivery of this line. 😊 And not many can say they took a page out of the walker handbook like that man Rick Grimes.

Beale says he’s sorry to hear that but Rick says he doesn’t have to be. As dark and insane of a mental place Rick had to go to take out that Claimer, he would do what he did 1000 times over if it meant saving his family.

Beale notes that Rick has made some extraordinary choices and shares that he’s given this echelon briefing 2,533 times but never to someone like Rick ‘Built Different’ Grimes.

...And Beale will soon realize why it was probably best to not give this speech to a soldier like Rick. 👌🏽😌

As You Wish

If there's one thing Marie Moreau hates, it's being sick. The coughing, the body aches, the constantly stuffy/runny nose, all of it. The most annoying part of it all was how much of an inconvenience being sick was. Marie didn't have time to be sick. She had things to do, classes to pass, a superhero to become, and you can't do all of that if you're sick. So to say she was a bit annoyed to wake up feeling like utter death, would be an understatement.

Marie has always been stubbornly independent. Even when she was a kid, she always insisted she could take care of herself, (though she'd always fold when her mother made her favorite soup and cuddled up with her to watch some of her favorite movies). Sure, now she was sort of forced into it, but at this point it was second nature for her. She didn't need help, she could take care of herself just fine and a measly flu wasn't gonna change that. Marie tried to convince Emma (and herself) that she was fine enough to sit in a classroom, but her body betrayed her pretty quickly when she could barely pull herself out of bed. Emma promised to bring her some soup at the end of the day, then bolted out to avoid contamination. Apparently Emma was a bit of a germaphobe. Though Marie couldn't blame her after she'd already gone through a whole box of tissues just that morning.

At first Jordan didn't really think much of Marie's absence. Though they definitely noticed it. They were both in a weird, unclear, place in their relationship. Jordan wasn't even sure if they could refer to it as a relationship. Just a few months ago they couldn't stand her presence, then, she somehow wormed her way into their friend group with her big brown eyes and radiant smile. That's when they realized they had a stupid crush on the freshman, and Jordan being Jordan dealt with that by constantly arguing and pushing her buttons, which Marie retaliated with just as much force. Then they kissed her... And then they were kissing some more; in her dorm, in the library, in their dorm. The making out quickly evolved to sex in all those aforementioned places (and more). How that even began, Jordan was still confused about. One moment they're bickering about some pointless things that Jordan can even remember anymore, then they're pushing her up against the wall and taking each other's clothes off. That became sort of a regular thing, along with study sessions either before or after. Marie quickly cleared up Jordan's hold ups, telling them that she doesn't care what form they're in when they are with her (a massive relief to Jordan), but that was basically the extent of it. Not much further than being more than fine with each other's presence, study dates and sex. And after a month or two of that, Jordan became terrifyingly aware that there was so much more that they wanted out of this. The more time they spent with her, the more they really got to know her, they were beginning to realize their real feelings for Marie Moreau weren't purely sexual attraction... They were in love. But, too terrified to break the status quo, they decided to keep that hidden for now.

So by the time classes wrapped up and Marie failed to show to their scheduled study session in the library, they finally folded, shifting to their female form and near sprinting over to her dorm. Jordan had left a few messages already and Marie never answered any texts so they didn't feel bad banging on her dorm door, now half convinced she's either kidnapped or finally ghosting them (they never thought they'd wish so hard for the former option).

"Moreau! You in there?" Jordan shouted, continuing to knock after not getting an answer. Just as they were about to give up and look somewhere else, they heard some shuffling on the other side of the door. It takes a minute for Marie to shuffle her way to the door, slowly pulling it open and looking down at Jordan.

"Wow. You look like shit." Jordan states bluntly, looking Marie up and down in her sickly and disheveled state. She's wearing an oversized grey hoodie and black sweats. She looks miserable, face pale, and a thin sheen of sweat on her forehead.

"Gee, thanks." Her voice was sore as she spoke. The look she's giving Jordan quickly made them aware that she wasn't in the mood for comments. She leaned on the door for support, too exhausted to stand. "what do you want?"

"uh-" Jordan wasn't really sure what they wanted. They were going to tell her off or at least ask why she blew them off today, but the answer to that was clear. And seeing her like this, all sick and miserable, it did things to their heart that they didn't understand. A protective feeling falling over them.

Without saying much else, they let themselves in, throwing their bag aside and reaching out to steady Marie as they close the door. "What the hell are y-"

"Just get in bed, Marie." Jordan interrupts, trying to lead her to the bed, but Marie pulls herself out of their hold, just to walk over herself and get in bed herself.

"what are you doing?" She asks, sitting up in her bed, looking at Jordan confused.

Jordan took off their iconic bomber jacket, leaving them in a black tank top, as they looked around the room. They noted the multitude of used tissues and discarded cough drop wrappers, along with empty water bottles. At least she's staying hydrated - they thought. They eventually registered Marie's question, looking back at her. "You're sick." They stated as if her question was ridiculous.

Marie just shook her head, looking at them, genuinely confused by their actions here. What were they doing? Yes, she was sick, but that was her problem, not Jordan's. So why were they in her dorm trying to, what? Take care of her? Don't get her wrong, she was always happy to see Jordan, be in their company, but it was usually under much different circumstances. Marie still wasn't 100% sure what they were yet, but they didn't think it involved this. "Yeah, okay... And?"

"And?... Being sick sucks. And your roommate's obviously not here to help you and I am, so just lay down, will you?" Jordan tries to reason with her. They decide to get moving, grabbing a trashcan from the corner of the room and scooping the used tissues and wrappers into it.

Marie just watches Jordan move, picking up after her. "Jordan, you don't need to do..." she waves her hands around as she tries to find the right words, "this-"

"-well what if I want to do this?" They argue, but they pause, realizing what they might have admitted. "I mean, you obviously need the help. You're really not looking too hot, have you taken your temperature yet?" They tried to backpedal, but it was hard to hide their worry.

Jordan can't help themselves as they lean forward, placing their hand on Marie's forehead, then moving it down to her cheek, letting it linger there for a second. They get lost in each other's eyes for just a moment, Jordan's words working their way through Marie's mind. Wait- they actually want to be here and help her? , the idea itself wasn't something Marie was used to. It's been a long time since someone actively wanted to be in her company and care for her... She wasn't sure how to feel, but looking into Jordan's eyes sent a flutter through her, and not to the kind that she usually feels when they're about to have sex. This was different... The only thing that pulls her back to reality is an oncoming sneeze, ripping through her as she pushes Jordan's hand away, turning away so she doesn't sneeze in Jordan's face. Marie's head rings as three more sneezes come on, leaving her reaching for some tissues, only to turn and see Jordan (now in male form), holding out the box of tissues for her. She reaches out and grabs some tissues, trying to decipher Jordan's unreadable, yet soft expression. There's an undeniable look of adoration, but a hint of uncertainty or shyness behind those deep brown eyes of theirs.

Jordan clears their throat as they put the tissues back down, moving the trashcan closer to the bed so Marie can throw the tissues away when she's done blowing her nose. "Look Moreau, you're obviously pretty sick, and I know you're too stubborn to admit that you need help. But- God, Marie, just let me take care of you. Cause I do want to help, I- I care about your fucking well-being, believe it or not." They sigh, scratching the back of their head, trying to collect their thoughts. "I- If you really want me to leave, I'll fucking leave, but... Just- If you need anything, seriously, just text me. I'll be right there." They said genuinely, radiating a sort of comfort that Marie hasn't felt in a long time.

All Marie could do was slowly nod her head, lips pressed in a thin line as she thought over Jordan's proposal. "Well... I don't want to get you sick."

Jordan just shrugged. "I'll deal."

Marie couldn't help but laugh at that. "and you say I'm stubborn."

Jordan laughs a bit as well, "Fine. Maybe we're both a bit stubborn."

Marie shakes her head, finally deciding to lie back on the bed, the exhaustion pulling on her bones. Her eyes drift close for a moment, before fluttering back open to meet Jordan's. They're looking down at her, a smile still on their face as they shake their head. "So fucking stubborn." They tease as they get up from the bed, grabbing their jacket and putting it back on. They then grabbed their stuff and began to head to the door.

Marie watches a bit confused. "Wait- we're you going?" She tried not to sound disappointed.

Jordan looked back, a soft smile still resting on their face. "Well, you haven't kicked me out yet, so I'm gonna go get you some medicine, more tissues, and cough drops. I'll be right back." They reassured, walking back over to give a quick peck on her forehead. "Also gonna grab a thermometer so I can properly take your temperature. You feel a bit warm." They said, rubbing her arm a bit before getting back up and heading to the door."

"wait!" Marie called, causing Jordan to stop and look back at her. "Do you think you could get me some soup as well? If it's not too much-"

Marie spoke shyly, really not wanting to ask too much of them, but Jordan swiftly cut her off. "Of course I will. What do you like? Chicken noodle?"

Marie nods, "creamy chicken noodle. From the can."

Jordan smiles, putting those beautiful dimples on display. "Perfect. I'll be back." They said, finally heading out the door.

Marie couldn't help the large smile, tugging at her lips. How did she get so lucky? Sure, her and Jordan weren't "official" by any means, but something told her that after this, things were gonna be different for the better.

Once Jordan came back, they both cuddled up on Marie's bed, eating soup and watching The Princess Bride on Marie's laptop. After that, anytime Marie would ask for something, Jordan would bow their head and say "as you wish," just like Westly would in the movie. They started it off as a joke, but continued, just to see Marie smile and laugh at it.

After a few days, Marie got better, just in time for Jordan to get sick. Which Marie did say "I told you so," only to return the favor and take care of Jordan (making sure to sanitize and wear a mask so she didn't get sick again. She refused to miss more classes). Marie also adopted the "as you wish", just to taunt Jordan back.

After that, there wasn't much question about what they were. They both knew they were more to each other than just casual sex. They loved each other, and would always be there when the other needed it. No matter how stubborn the other was about it.

Oooooh! Okay, Sky High's earlier in the timeline! I like that! Couple follow ups:

1) Lol on Commander and Jetstream, those two are such incredible big weirdo dorks and I love them for it.

2) Superpowers are in the process of becoming more common, so what might it look like for the Sky High cast dealing with the steady uptick in powered population? Because you know it means more villains and more vigilantes and more people who didn't get an opportunity to train with their powers in a safe environment and don't know how to use them. Any thoughts on that adjustment period?

3) One of the big main conflicts of Sky High is that they sort you into "hero" or "sidekick" based solely on how impressive your power is. I'm not fully sure if this heirarchy exists in BNHA, but it is definitely less of a divide with 1-A and 1-B both being promising groups of heroes with a wide variety of creatively used powers. One of the things that didn't get explored because of the short run-time of the movie is whether this was changed, but it's pretty clear that the Sky High cast is too goddamn heroic to be anything less than a full fledged hero, rules be damned. So how major do you think the Sky High Kids being visible and effective heroes with pretty lame powers was to destigmatizing that? And do you think they did any sort of work to change the dumb rules beyond just "being a hero with a lame power against the rules?""

4) Sky High seems to very explicitly be for the children of current or retired superheroes. What may have changed to start letting in mentees and otherwise unknown folks who pass the entrance exam in?

5) Given the existence of the "Hero" and "Sidekick" classes, it seems expected that powered people will work in a hero-sidekick pair, until one or both of them retires (or the hero dumps their sidekick, so sorry Mr. B). Meanwhile, in BNHA, sidekick is synonymous with intern. So when did this expectation start changing? Did it have anything to do with less impressive powers becoming more valued, or was it a separate thing?

That's all for now, but like I said, I will probably bug you about this multiple times. I am so weak to Sky High. It is one of the first movies I remember watching when I was old enough to actually have intelligent opinions on it. This might be the thing that actually makes me watch My Hero.

2.) Honestly this would be fascinating in itself to explore. Like the shift between the SH time and BNHA time just. How world and culture shifts. It certainly becomes much harder to hide secret identities in a world where powers are more common so going 'hey this kid in my old class had a power just like this new Hero that showed up and they look real similar what if-'. You're also getting yes more power-related crime which means more Heroes. Establishment of more Hero Schools even if Sky High is still the best in America so on and so forth.

3.) I 100% think that the Sky High kids fought for change on the Hero-Sidekick system that was set up, and everything shows it! The kids with 'Sidekick' powers were able to save the day just as much as the kids with 'Hero' powers.

They're going to fight for it and show that no matter what power you have you can still utilize it. They also point out that given the range of powers among even the 'Hero' students, they have advantages and disadvantages. Like the Hero Students aren't just relying on their powers, they rely on training and knowledge too!

They'd also use Sue/Gwen as an example as well. Her first time she was put in the 'sidekick' class, but managed to become a fearsome villain as Royal Pain despite a 'sidekick' power. And on her second life, Technopathy was now considered a 'Hero' power! Things shift, and anyone can utilize their talents.

By the time BNHA comes around, while there's still some definite prioritizing of which powers would be 'better' for Heroics, there's less of an issue over it because they've had enough people with weird abilities who could still be very good at what they do. Both on Hero and Villain sides.

Right now in BNHA the divide seems less on 'useful' Quirks and more on an inherent 'good/evil' Quirks. With a little bit of 'do you even have a Quirk at all?' thrown in.

4.) I don't think that Sky High is for kids of established Heroes. I think Will's parents and Warren's mom are the only family we hear confirmation on them being Heroes(with Warren's dad being a Villain). So there's likely many kids who get in without having Hero parents.

Though ofc children of Heroes would get in easy, I think powers are at a level where kids with them would be identified quickly and offered to go to the school regardless of if they intend to become Heroes or not as the school doubles as a 'learn to control your abilities' learning alongside typical high school curriculum.

5.) Yeah I think it started changing at some point along the way in that. 'Sidekick' still means you're taking orders from another Hero and working in tandem to support them and/or the team.

But it's shifted in that Sidekicks are still considered Heroes in their own right. And the role is more for like. Rookie Heroes. Where you're more than capable of handling things yourself, but you want to get your feet under you before you fully go off on your own.

Also being a Sidekick is a /choice/ someone makes, not a role they're shoved into.

Why do I have gospel on My Spotify Daylist? I’m Atheist. Oh Also Here’s Some Background Info For the Fic :)

Haha ignoring the title, I just wanted to talk to you more about ‘The Impossible Adventures of the Phantom and the Ninja,’ give a sneak peak as to what I plan and maybe get your guys’ input.

So as I said before I love serialized cartoons centered around teenage superheroes. Maybe because I love comics, or because I too felt like I was living a double-life and found a connection to these characters. Still do even though I’m now older than the characters. But what I love most about them is the possibilities for world-building.

I love stories that center more about the world the author has created, along with how that world affects the character(s) relationships, traits, etc. It shows me the extent to the author’s creativity, having thought of all these cool societies, cultures that seems real like it could belong to the real world, even down to how people in that story keep track of time.

(Off topic but this is actually the main reason why I love the ATLA universe)

However I don’t really get that with the teen-superhero drama. Especially when it airs on cartoons like Disney or Nick. They do explore some topics for sure, but I’m looking more to the drawbacks of living a double-life. Mostly because I feel those drawbacks even today. Furthermore, most of these shows like Danny Phantom and Randy Cunningham: 9th Grade Ninja were only able to air due to both the networks and the creators, at least in simple terms. So sometimes shows would be canceled when it’s left at a cliff hanger (I.e. Teen Titians (2003) and RC9GN)

So that’s why I wanted to write this fanfic, I want to try to expand the worlds of both shows by connecting them together, I want to add my own flair to the characters, story arcs, and the direction of the series, and I really hope I do both shows justice because I grew up on these shows and I even still watch them (even when some words they use are outdated and just overly obnoxious/cringe)

Which brings me to the second part of this post. To those who read this far good for you, you get a cookie 🍪.

Anyways I have three arcs planned so far when it comes to this fanfic (more will defiantly be added later on). Granted it’s not all fleshed out so I’ll have to add or take out stuff as I continue with this story. But here’s a brief description and some notes for the first three arcs:

1. Origins

Obviously it’s the introduction to the story. Danny and Randy just returned to their homes a week before school starts, it’s their first year of high school and both of them have big plans for the next four years.

They just didn’t account the chance to become heroes of their respective towns.

The arc is going to be about 4 chapters long, ending with a rewrite on ‘Bitter Reunions’. The chapters will briefly glaze over the first six episodes of Danny Phantom. And the first like two/three episodes to RC9GN.

This arc will mostly focus on Danny struggling to getting a hold of his powers and Randy coming to terms that being a hero isn’t all sunshine and rainbows. Only problem is I’m not sure if I want that to happen to Randy this early on the story or not. Eh, guess we’ll see what I feel like, lol.

2) Original Storyline:

It’s in the works! This is set after both of their Halloween specials in season one. Mostly because this is placed in November. I might plan a chapter or two to happen before this arc so who knows (really want to write Fanning the flames- I have plans for that one it’s all based on a joke while I started writing out the three arcs lmao). I don’t want to say anymore other than the fact I want it to focus more on Japanese myths, it’s actually how I got inspired to write this fic so I’m really excited.

3) Interlude:

After that week-long adventure, Randy, Danny and friends slowly adjust to their new normal. Mostly just rewrites of canon episodes to help build up to another major story arc that is forming in my head at the moment. (It’s definitely a canon one just to give you a hint).

I'm probably just gonna infodump some facts and interests of mine, and it will turn into a mini essay. I'm sorry, I'm just bad with things like that, but I tried! 😭

I won't be namedropping mysef, but you can call me anyway you like and use any pronouns you want for me too. My zodiac sign is Aquarius. I'm asexual, usually way too blunt (I try my best not to be though) and I'm a rather anxious person in general welp. I was born and lived my whole life in Poland (that forgotten European country, yep), but I'm in love with Osaka ever since I first visited it. I studied philosophy and anthropology at uni (I had also a short two-semester course of psychology).

I have been a manga&anime fan since elementary school back in the 90s. That's when I learned Sailor Moon is a Japanese anime and then I realized most of the animated shows I watched in kindergarten were also Japanese, like Yattaman, Kaiketsu Zoro or General Daimos. You could say I somewhat grew up with animes while not having any idea about it (I did watch other cartoons, but I didn't love them as much as the ones I mentioned. Animes were always captivating on a completely different level to me. The exception was some Disney movies, I was totally crazy over The Lion King). As a child I dreamed of being a superhero and to be able to read other people's thoughts, I blame Yattaman for that somehow lol.

My love to animes slowly grew over the years into fascination with the country of their origin itself. That means I devoured more and more Japanese (pop)culture like music (from anime openings, visual kei to Japanese idol groups; I started from L'arc en Ciel and Gackt, but my biggest love is Kinki Kids), books, movies and live action series, food etc. I fell in love with sushi after tasting it in the first ever opened sushi restaurant in my town. The first time I tried Pocky (I still remember it was strawberry flavour!) was when a friend brought me a single package as a souvenir from their trip, haha. I have been totally crazy about Japanese snacks for a while now. Anything with melon cream soda flavour or any senbei crackers would be easily my favourite, but I also wouldn't chicken out from trying really odd flavours (takoyaki or wasabi flavoured sweet carbonated drink? Count me in! Also wasabi is awesome).

I used to read tons of mangas and watch lots of animes; I have many more-or-less recent favourite series (like Assassination Classroom, Angels of Death or The Way of the House Husband), but over the years there are only some of them I always end up coming back to, no matter how many years have passed. Those are: all Clamp titles (Tokyo Babylon and Card Captor Sakura especially), Death Note (I used to read it when it was just starting coming out, crazy), Saiyuki by Kazuya Minekura, Please Save My Earth, some Ghibli movies (my favourite is Spirited Away), Slayers (anime), Rurouni Kenshin. One Piece now joined the parade of my all time favourites :D

I actually watched and read One Piece for the first time was when I was in high school, then came back to it at uni, then had a decade long break till my friend kicked my ass and told me to finally catch up and move on from Thriller Bark (which is where I stopped that decade ago, lol). I'm glad he made me take on the challenge, it was a while since I got so hooked and engaged in anything. It's also partially thanks to the Netflix's live action, it reignited the love for the series in me again as well. Yes, that means I caught up to be up to date rather recently, I believe it happened in January of this year only, lol. Have been pretty much obsessed ever since.

My favourite writer is Neil Gaiman, my fav book of his is Good Omens. If I had to choose only one movie to save for the future of mankind, it would be Battle Royale (has nothing to do with Fortnite btw lol). I love escape rooms and board games, but I have only one friend who sometimes likes to do them with me (you know who you are :D). I'm also a gamer, but I have a very peculiar game taste, I enjoy what most people wouldn't even touch with a stick, which is niche indie games, walking sims, puzzle games and horror games (especially, sometimes really obscure, Asian ones). Silent Hill 2 is gonna always be my most favourite game. The only multiplayer game I play is Dead by Daylight.

My favourite youtuber is John Wolfe, it started because of his series of random horror games, it ended with me just enjoying his vibe in general~ lately he does some ghost debunking vids too, it's so entertaining :D

My favourite holiday is Halloween, even though we actually don't celebrate it here so I could never go trick or treating myself, sadly. I'm kinda a tea addict, I love black teas (especially with aromas and things like petals or fruits in it), green teas (sakura green tea ❤), white teas (my favourite is with rose), darjeeling... the only teas I don't like at all are irish cream and earl gray, I'm sorry xD I also don't drink coffee or alcohol because they're too bitter for me, I have a sweet tooth (my hyperfocusing brain mode runs solely on sugar). But if Law joins the Strawhats, just like I predict will happen, I *will* make an exception and drink to that. A freaking rum, even, because arrrr! :D

Hey hope you don't mind me rambling in your inbox but I have a lot of thoughts and I want to dissect how people actually create their Rowdyruff redemptions. I am so sorry how long this is in advance.

Ok so like, I'm working on a a fic currently and one of the aspects of it involves a Rowdyruff redemption (well, sort of... it's complicated lol) and color code shipping when they're older, and I've been reading a lot of fic to see how people actually do this. I've noticed a lot of things that really bug me about it how this is handled by fic writers.:

1) The Puffs are used as props, development, and eventual love interests for the Ruffs. They don't usually get much development, nor do their perspectives change much outside of "hey those ruffs are good now! Time to make out with them!". It's boring and it feels like the Puffs don't actually gain any perspectives from the Ruffs. As superheros and especially as characters who are getting with characters who often characterized as people who were directly abused by the system they uphold, wouldn't the Puffs gain some perspective from them? Give me puffs who learn about the ruffs experiences and become more disillusioned by the police force and start advocating for fighting against crime by supporting those who need it and filling in inequalities as opposed to arresting every thief out there. The Puffs and Ruffs have black and white perspectives in regards to good and evil. A great way to develop them is to mess around with their perspectives and make them question things.

2) The Ruffs don't seem to change much either, I think the main issue is that they're toned down from the beginning without any good explanation. Yeah sure "maturity" can be one, but if you're gonna change their personalities for your redemption fic, there needs to be a good reason as to why these personalities changed. Redemption fics aren't fun if they just start out as "mildly annoying boys" without reason as to why they're toned down. Either make them total shitheads and legitimately develop them or give a very good reason as to why they're not as intense. It's not interesting if they stay mildly annoying throughout the fic with little development but get with the Puffs anyway.

3) Mojo and HIM as parental figures are often very absent and are just usually explained away as "lol they were abusive". While I don't really mind this angle of Mojo and HIM ending up as shitty parents, it's never really developed. I want to know HOW they're shitty parents, why they were bad for the Ruffs. A lot of fan backstories in this fics involves the ruffs being used as tools by Mojo and HIM without caring about their needs as little kids, how about we show how that was done throughout their lives? You don't have to get like, graphic and explicit about what abuse and neglect they experience, but it needs to be developed and seriously impactful if you're gonna add it. I want to see how those impacts still mess with them, especially with interactions with their parents. Trauma like that doesn't just go away. If that can't be done, just keep their parents, have the ruffs be intentionally rebellious against their wishes. They are self driven after all and will often do shit that pisses people off and is enjoyable to them.

Especially if you're doing like... shipping, I want more elaboration on Mojo and HIM's perspectives. I want them to seeth and lose their minds over the prospect, I want Mojo to become a laughing stock among villains for not only failing to beat the Puffs, but creating their eventual romantic partners. I want Mojo to confront the very exhausted professor who's also not happy about this idea and have Mojo fucking lose it while the professor is just... so exhausted.

4) We need more of the other villains and cast to show up. Where the fuck did they go? Why is it only HIM and random monsters that can be used as villains (not even Mojo is, he's just thrown to the side which is such a massive shame). Lemme see Princess be something besides a mean girl, lemme see Sedusa or Fuzzy or the Amoeba boys. Let's see some one-offs from the OG series show up! I'm always a Boogie Man advocate, would be delighted to see him in a fic for once (although he's somewhat niche so I could see how it would be difficult to involve him). Hell if you can make them interesting, I'd be down to see reboot villains too. Just, anything to mix things up and add more action.

5) Not enough is done with the Professor, he's usually just a supporting character to the Puffs who shows shockingly minimal apprehension of the Ruffs, let alone their relationships with each other. I need a professor who's braver and plays a more active role in these fics. I need him to be a strong father figure who loves his kids so much and shows himself to be deeply intelligence. I need a professor who can be kind to the ruffs if need be and deserved (while he's protective and distrusting of the ruffs, I don't think he'd be spiteful to them especially if they're still children), but won't stand for any bullshit that they do and is willing to fight to keep his kids safe. Is is such a loving and substantial figure in the OG show and so few people actually bother to dive into the depths that the Professor would go for his kids.

6) interpretations of the ships are so fucking cishet it's so boring. Even if you want them to be m/f and cis, you can still make their dynamics and perceptions queer. You do not have to fall into tired cishet characterizations or dynamics (with the reds by far getting the worst of this). I think this can be hard depending on time setting and the ages of the characters, especially the Ruffs and how deep their toxic masculinity is embedded into them. Granted that I headcanon that their birthdays are their debuts and they'd be 29/30, I think that the time period would make it more difficult to explore queer aspects about them depending on how old they're portrayed, but I think that could make things even more interesting tbh especially if they don't have the language for what's going on with them. Example of a trope that's common in fics but can be twisted to be queer: High school fic #2728732. It's 2010, Buttercup is turning 17 soon and she doesn't feel like the other girls and hasn't for years. Buttercup doesn't have the language to describe her experiences as genderqueer since it's 2010, she sticks to the tomboy and girl label even though neither feel quite right.

My older takes on these ships tend to usually fall into Brick/Blossom who are both bi and gender apathetic but tend to have a male and female preference respectively, and navigating their unique perspectives of their attraction and dynamics to one another in that regard. Very very very very pan blues who are gay about everybody and proud of it, and (of course) genderqueer and genderfuck greens. We need more trans (particularly enby) greens rep out there and I'll do it myself if nobody else does. People write the ships (especially the color codes) so cishet I appreciate takes that drive them outside of that circle of "cishet boys and girls with hetronormative dynamics like each other now kiss mwah".

7) Inverse to the "the Puffs are just stepping stones to redemption and objects for the Ruffs", I'm really tired of fics that just end up neutering the ruffs once they're redeemed and have them be the second in command lapdogs to the Puffs (once again... a particularly big problem with the reds). I want more fics where the ruffs are their equals, where all of their voices are taken into account.

8) I want more of these stories to happen when they're not in high school. I want elementary and middle school redemption stories. I want full grown adults redemption stories. I'm so tired of the high school setting and I know it's mainly used for shipping, but not making them too old that they're boring and gross or w/e. Give me these characters past the age of 21 or under the age of 16 I beg. Hell please we need more stories of them at their canon age, the idea of The Professor and Mojo hosting a play date for them and all of them just having fun playing with toys and making up their own games is so cute.

9) This ties into my point of the ruffs history with law enforcement. It's very, very difficult for me to believe that they'd completely jump to the good side and just be the Puffs but slightly shifted over personality wise. They'd be distrusting of the superhero system. Maybe they'd be willing to kick monster ass, but they're not going to be knocking down thieves and working side by side with cops. If anything, I think it would make sense for redeemed ruffs to work to fight against current police system standards and help those who are most affected by it the most. The ruffs aren't and shouldn't just turn into the Puffs but a bit spicier. It's boring and it doesn't make sense.

10) I am sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo tired of all the weird sexualization in high school fics, especially when you can tell they were written by somebody who's not in high school and hasn't been in years. I swear people who write these hypersexualized Riverdale style high school AUs haven't actually looked at a 16 year old in years. They wouldn't look like full grown adults and most likely wouldn't be diving deep into sex and drugs. There's also a lot of sexual assault, especially casually? I read a fic recently where Butch groped Buttercup's chest without consent just randomly and it was played off for laughs. Closed it instantly and physically facepalmed. I somewhat get when teens write stuff like this, but adults? It's ridiculous.

11) I feel like people make the Puffs and Ruffs parallel each other a bit too much? It takes away from existing tension and ways they can clash. Make Bubbles care way too much and Boomer struggle with the ability to take things seriously. Make Brick smart but not academically so, his intelligence lies in other places and he specifically spites the rigid authority of academia, while Blossom loves and embraces it. Show Buttercup being able to be more calculated and intelligent about her fighting while Butch is a berserker. Give them parallels and differences, and differences within their parallels!

Again I'm so sorry about how long this is, I've been full autism mode about PPG again and my old fic idea I never got around to writing. Reading up on people's takes on RRB redemptions for my own research and I notice that there's a lot of things that just bug me about how they're played out, and it inspired me to do a full dissection of how RRB redemption plot lines tend to be done.

This is another ask that I've tried to answer a thousand times, but really honestly, every time I read it, I'm just like:

This is incredibly random but I rewatched Hairspray today and did I just fall in love with a character called corny collins 🤣 😂 but seriously though James Marsden is so pretty I may have to go watch everything he's ever been in, I don't understand how disney hasn't cast him as a knight in shining armour, I haven't seem him in many things but even his characters seem so pure and lovely like corny collins, tom wachowski aka donut lord, Richard from superman returns maybe I'm projecting his characters' qualities onto him (and his face certainly helps 🤣) but I now have the opinion that this man is an angel 😇

AHHHH girl, I will gush over James Marsden with you ANY DAY. I am surprised it took you so long to discover him, and via Hairspray of all places. (LOL.) He has been around forever, but he has consistently come off as a sweet guy both on and off screen.

He has such an underrated pretty face, with lovely bone structure and blue eyes. He could totally pass for an Tolkien Elf with that bone structure. (Controversial fancast, if James were younger: Eärendil??) And his smile... oh that smile... it's pure sunshine.

If you've seen the right movies of him, he's actually so freakin' talented; he can handle heavy roles as well as goofy comedy.

He does not take his career too seriously. He has done a LOT of work in kids' movies, and celebs who take on projects for kids have a special place in my heart. (e.g. Hop, Sonic, My Little Pony, and I even heard he's gonna be in the next Paw Patrol movie)

Disney has made him a prince: Prince Edward from Enchanted-- and he did it so wonderfully too! I loved him more than the "real" leading man, Patrick Dempsey.

You nailed it by saying most of his characters are so pure; it's true for most of the stuff I've seen from him, and I think it's just because of the aura he gives off. He is also known as being the "guy who never gets the girl", due to his roles as the jilted lover in "Superman Returns" and "The Notebook".

If you want to swoon, watch "The Best of Me" (Nicholas Sparks adaptation)--too cheesy for my taste, but it was worth it to see James in a romantic lead (and showing off his muscles--haha!)

He played one of my favorite superheroes--Scott Summers aka Cyclops from the X-Men! Unfortunately, imho they did a piss-poor job on his character, and really did him dirty in favor of Wolverine. Nonetheless, I really enjoyed seeing him in that role.

He has such adorkable comedic charm. I'm not a fan of stoner comedies, so I haven't seen those works of his, but he did Seasons 6-7 of 30 Rock, where he was utterly adorkable.

The man can SING. Like, seriously blow your socks off SING. He showed it off clearly in Hairspray and in Enchanted. I would love to see him in more musicals or Disney animated films. Please watch link below for proof.

James is the only reason why I am tempted to watch Westworld, despite hearing that it could be too depressing/dark for my taste. I also want to check out Jury Duty, his most recent tv work.

Bnha didn't do it for me on the whole "Hero-Villain" tropes anymore. It doesn't feel like its groundbreaking ideas are getting written well like how there's no such thing as a defined Hero or Villain, there is just the nature of things. Everything is so Black and White

I think James Gunn's work, Peacemaker actually has amazing ideas on the whole Hero-Villain tropes, everyone had an absolute blast with it, great character developments and also amazing comedy too

The best thing about the entire series is that how they treat comic superheroes in it is exactly how one would expect Superheroes would be treated in a Modern world, like how Aquaman is getting dissed on Twitter lol, Aquaman even said when he made it as the ending's cameo that people gotta stop with the dumb rumours, yes he doesn't fuck fish AND ofc John Cena too, dang he's one hell of character

Also I guess at some point, the entire "Teenage Heroes" trope got stale since it all feels unrealistic and how no one is talking about the gravity of bringing kids into Heroism so early. They missed out on a lot of chances with "Real Horror" with the Modern Heroes World in Bnha, cuz there are bad things in good things and vice versa

It's sad how no one is talking about the societal treatment towards others and how there are always the Villains cuz mostly everyone didn't have the awareness of how badly they treat others who are considered "freaks of society".

The lack of education on certain social aspects is appalling, they ignore the social issues with Quirks in general and didn't educate children on how to treat others kindly regardless of Quirks, you can see that with Bakugo, since it was his huge characteristic everyone knows for. Honestly this part feels extremely realistic cuz it's an actual real life thing but I don't think it was improved and just left it as is. We see the consequences and never solutions to fix

Yeah to me it feels like hero don't face any consequences and the whole 'saving villains things ' was quickly discarded. I'm not saying all should be forgiven but it was made clear they became what they are because of tragedy, especially Shigaraki. I believe nothing is black and white. It's shades of gray, (I think Tokyo ghoul did this really well).

And yeah the whole kids being heroes and put through the things they've dealt with, like the Pro heroes seemed to step aside and let it happen which is weird. Let's be honest the young students were leading the way against AFO and Shigaraki. I know this was there story (Izuku Bakugou Shouto Shigaraki) these were the main characters but that doesn't mean we gotta like how they get there.

I also think the story got darker then people expected.

I've always felt the a hero or villain is perspective. A person can be a great hero then go home and abuse their family. A person whose a villain may be doing bad deeds to help their family or those they love because the system fucked them over. So to those they are the hero and the hero is the bad guy.

Society changes people and shows the world what it thinks is correct. Shigarakis life was horrible he deserves someone to save him but he's committed crimes that can't be swept under the rug yet he only did them cause he was groomed and lied to and abused but all the Society sees is he is bad. Heroes aren't suppose to kill but there ate heroes who enjoy the brutality of beating or killing villains. But their heroes so it's OK.

ok so this is my silly little idea for if the reveal happened earlier in the show, like before all the love webs happened lol. i really wanna make this into a comic but my motivation is so weird sometimes- i was trying to before this but now it feels hard- so im just gonna write it for now!

The Reveal (Miraculous AU)

It's night time in Paris, and Ladybug is sitting by herself on a rooftop. She hugs her knees up to her chest. She hears Chat land next to her and gives him a small smile.

"Hey, M'Lady," Chat says, smiling down at Ladybug.

"Hey, Kitty," Ladybug quietly replies as he sits down beside her. "Couldn't sleep?"

"Nope," he says. "I'm assuming you couldn't, either?"

Ladybug shakes her head and looks down, tears starting to fill her eyes. Chat looks at her with concern, wanting nothing more than to embrace her and take away whatever was causing her pain. But she needed her space.

"You know you can tell me anything," he gently says as he sets his hand on her shoulder. "I'll always be here for you, okay?"

Ladybug turns to look at him. He was so kind, so gentle. Always there for her when she needed him. And yet here she was, sulking because she had made a fool out of herself in front of Adrien Agreste once again earlier that day.

But she couldn't just stop loving him, and therefore she could not love Chat Noir.

She felt waves of sadness and flames of anger rise up in her. And suddenly, the feelings that she had always wanted to tell Chat but never did because of fear just started to tumble out. "I'm so sorry for always pushing you away, Chat..." Tears spill out of her eyes, and Chat stares at her with great concern and intensity. "It's just...it's just..." The anger starts to take over, and she suddenly stands up.

"It's just that I act SO STUPID in front of the boy I love every. Single. Day!! He's so sweet to me, and I know that life gets hard for him sometimes and yet he never fails to be kind and perfect to EVERYONE. And I just wanna tell him how much him and his kindness means to me..." she stops mid-sentence, looking down at her superhero partner. He was staring at her, clinging on to every word she said as if it was his lifeline. The sadness washes over Ladybug's anger, and she gently sits back down next to Chat Noir. Looking down, she quietly says, "And...and I want YOU to know how much you mean to me, too, Chat. I'm sorry I don't show my affection back. Because you really do mean everything to me, and I wouldn't be able to do ANY of this without you. It's just...the boy in my personal life...I love him so much. And I can't just STOP those feelings."

Chat was so grateful that Ladybug was finally opening up to him- and that he meant so much to her. I mean, deep down, he knew that, but...it was just nice to hear. And he was determined to help her with whatever she wanted to tell this boy. Taking a deep breath, he says, "Well, you were able to just tell ME your feelings- or should I say, FELINES-"

"Chat," Ladybug interrupts him, giving him a look. But she was smiling. She may not enjoy his puns all the time, but Chat knew that this time it would make her smile.

"Okay, okay," Chat laughs. "My point is, you were able to tell me the way you feel, so that means you are FULLY capable of telling this boy whatever it is you wanna tell him."

Ladybug slowly nods. "I guess that's true..."

"So," Chat says. "What is it you wanna tell him? Just...go ahead and say it. Say whatever's on your mind." He gives her a reassuring smile. "You can do it."

Ladybug smiles at him, and takes a deep breath. Confidence was replacing the anger and sadness in her- a little too much, in fact. Because this is what she blurts out. "I would say, 'Adrien Agreste, thank you for always being so kind and I hope-'" Her eyes widen, and she slaps her mouth shut.

Chat Noir stares at her, a jumble of thoughts swimming through his head. "Did she just say my name?! Does she know my identity? Or..." A smile took over his face as he realized.

Ladybug stands up, nervously backing up and rambling. "Whoa, did I just say, 'Adrien Agreste'?! That's so funny, because what I actually meant was, uh, Damien Shameste! Yeah! Who's Adrien Agreste? Never heard of him!"

Chat was up now, walking towards her with a grin on his face. "Marinette," he says gently.

"What? W-who's Marinette?! Never heard of her, either! Anyways, I gotta go now, so, uh, catch you later, Kitty-" Just as Ladybug was about to take off the roof with her yo-yo, she stumbles backwards, slipping off the ledge. With a quick, confident swoop, Chat Noir reaches out and grabs her arm. As he holfd her in place, looking down into her wide, anxious eyes, he whispers, "Claws in."

Ladybug stares at the beautiful, familiar face who saved her from falling. She stared as he gently lifts her back up onto the rooftop. "A-Adrien? How...what..?" And suddenly, relief floods over her face, then tears of joy along with a smile so wide her cheeks hurt. "Spots off," she whispers.

Marinette Dupain-Cheng and Adrien Agreste stare at each other's eyes, illuminated by moonlight. Plagg and Tikki watch from the side, their smiles also taking up the width of their faces.

And then, laughter, followed by the most genuine, heartfelt kiss one could ever wish for. Smiling against his lips, Marinette speaks. "How did we not see it before...?!"

"I don't know," Adrien laughs. "But we see it now, and that's what matters. Marinette, I told myself you were just a close friend because of my love for Ladybug...but I knew my feelings were more than that." He glances over at his Kwami, smiling. "Plagg knew it, too."

Tikki chimes in. "And Marinette knew of the affection she felt for Chat Noir..."

"But I pushed it aside because of my love for Adrien," Marinette finishes, smiling at Tikki. She looks back at her soulmate, whose grin was wider than what was probably possible. Embracing her arms around his neck, she whispers, "Oh, my kitty..."

"My ladybug," Adrien whispers back as they kiss again.

When they finally pull away, Marinette giggles. "So...now what?"

Adrien smiles. "No one has to know. It'll be our little secret. At school, we're just Marinette and Adrien. And at night..."

"We're Ladybug and Chat Noir!" Marinette exclaims.

"And together, we'll defeat Hawk Moth. And after that..." Adrien blushes. He touches his forehead to Marinette's and closes his eyes. "I'll be forever yours, m'lady."

THE END

*Bonus Scene*

Chat Noir drops Ladybug off on her balcony, and they turn to each other. "I'm so glad that this happened now. Imagine if we went YEARS without knowing our true identities! That would just be..."

"Horrible," Ladybug finishes. "If we were in a movie or something and that happened, I'd turn it off!"

With one last laugh and a kiss, Ladybug de-transforms. "Goodnight, my prince," she whispers. "I love you."

i want to share one of the stupidest plot point ideas i have ever written down for a fanfic in my history of fanfic writing.

so everyone knows those "oh shit im THAT character now??"/"OH MY GOD IM IN THE WORLD OF [INSERT BOOK/SHOW]" fanfics, right?

well, one of my favorite things i've ever written for one of those fanfics was this:

two people, one kid and one adult, were reincarnated into a superhero manga world (idk why im being vague about it lol but i think a lot of the people who stumble across this post would figure it out sooner or later). they had nothing in common but the fact they were reincarnated here together (and that they were being used as pawns for a war between two reincarnation hosting deities but that's another story for later) but they had to find some type of unique code that they would remember because there was a shape shifting villain on the loose and they were realizing a lot of their codes were easier to figure than they thought.

they go through everything before realizing they're both extremely into nerdcore rap. so they just decide, "hey, since we're in this universe, what if we use lyrics from the raps about this universe? it'll totally be unique and won't backfire at all!"

it backfired. majorly. if i had to describe it in a chekov like way, i accidentally placed a gun upon the mantel and then took it off just to show it off but accidentally shot two bullets into the wall while i was at it.

they screamed at each other lyrics that contained wordplay based on the identity of a supervillain that they were absolutely not supposed to mention until later on in the series. they destroyed one of the biggest reveals in the series (in series obviously, the out of series reaction was why they forgot it was so big.) just by a silly line.

so yeah that was funny especially as the aftermath of them realizing they also just wrecked their own reveals that they were from another world (they expected it to be emotional, tender, and heart-warming) with that line and then arguing over who wrecked the reveal.

but when it comes to that, i mean i’ve mentioned before that i headcanon that tweek’s kinda liked craig since not too long after the boys made them fight (partially one of those “whoa he’s on my level” kinda things considering they were about equally matched, partially just...thinking about him a lot whoops lmao), so the whole fake breakup made him kinda realize some things (mostly more-than-platonic things lol). especially with what tweek said afterwards, that he’d never felt that confident, he was never able to do that before, all that jazz. so, yknow, craig shows up on the sidewalk and just silently offers his hand? “oh god oh fuck i didnt actually fuck up? holy shit? we’re holding hands? i am never letting go 🥺💚” 

as far as stick of truth goes, my memory’s complete ass, that was after they broke up bc of the whole superhero franchise thing right? i honestly don’t remember a lot from sot or the episodes leading up to it ;; BUT. considering it’s tweek and considering he’s a barbarian, i can imagine there was a lot of taking out his anxiety via hitting things and putting on either an angry or neutral front, i.e. pretending to still be mad about the whole superhero franchise thing, or trying to pretend he didn’t actually care (but he did care and after switching to a fantasy setting he wasn’t all that mad about the franchise thing anymore)

whiiiich leads to the fractured but whole, where he was mad about the franchise thing again. though really i think it was a tiny bit of a cover. i honestly kinda think the deeper issue was that cartman was basically being allowed to call the shots, and tweek not only felt like he was being ‘excluded’ by cartman putting off his “movies”, but that craig was just letting cartman exclude him. he thought that if he managed to stand up for himself and call cartman out that the boy he holds hands with would catch on and agree, and after he walked out without craig he thought he was completely wrong about him entirely (as in, not just over this one little thing - he’s like ten and strung out, of course he thinks in extremes). honestly i could imagine tweek willingly sitting out until New Kid gets their mission during TFBW, and only really participating to 1) see craig again and 2) basically let himself be mad about the superhero split again. regarding the whole bit in the game with the couples counseling, frankly i think tweek put the franchise bullshit aside not too long before the session and was being mad at first to give the same energy he thought he was getting from craig. that whole fight? with the two of them lowkey taking care of each other in their own lil ways? yeah that’s for sure when that last little bit of anxiety/anger over craig dissipated.

okay, okay, that one from sixth-seventh grade. being tweens at the start of puberty, oh jesus christ emotions. tweek’s anxiety got worse, and he could tell that craig was more distant, and trying to hold everything together while dealing with his own anxiety (on top of school and his parents and his “coffee” addiction) was just...adding more anxiety to his already-mountain of anxiety. he thought they were doing ok until seemingly “out of the blue” being broken up with, hell he’d thought about how they’d manage high school schedules and even thought about colleges that had majors for both of their interests. (chill out bro ur like 12) tweek stopped going to book club for the rest of the school year, he stopped playing a lot of his video games, his grades dropped slightly (y’know, Bs to Cs, not that bad), his ability to socialize went down, and his coffee consumption went up. summer break helped a little bit, since he could just hang out on his own and just not deal with people all that much (because cmon you KNOW the entire town would still be mourning the loss of creek -_-). that summer was also the first time he snuck out onto the roof of his house, just so he wouldn’t have to overhear his parents talk about him. (it wouldn’t be until after he n craig get back together when he actually leaves the property when he sneaks out lol) going back to school was...barely much better than the end of sixth grade. schoolwork felt overwhelming, some of the book club members “hounded him” (asked him what happened like one whole time) about the end of last school year, AND he had to see craig in the hallways. anxiety sucked the soul out of him. but the novel for book club had absolutely nothing to do with romance or dating, so he could bring himself to go to those meetings again, reconnecting with them definitely made him feel like he had actual friends again (uh duh bc they were actual friends. anxious lil dipshit). staying at school longer every day meant significantly less tweak bros coffee during the week, which in turn lessened his anxiety if only a little bit, gee i fucking wonder why. tweek was absolutely in fucking shock that he could even hold a conversation with craig without arguing the first time they talked again, doesn’t even matter who approached who first. but tweek definitely went home and had a nervous breakdown in his room because “oh god what if he doesnt like me anymore even worse what if its always been one sided fuck fuck shit fuck.” and it’s like that for like a week or two, until he’s okay with the fact that “maybe craig just wants to be friends, that fucking sucks a lot but dammit i don’t wanna not talk/hang out with him,” but suddenly they’re holding hands again? at some point? there’s a whole anxiety-riddled apology in there somewhere, where tweek just stumbles out an “im sorry” over being way too anxious and high-strung and what have you and sorry about being the way he was and that he didn’t mean to drive craig away but intention isnt everything blah blah blah “just make me shut up please god im not gonna stop.” it doesnt matter when it happens in the timeline but it definitely happened. honestly tweek doesn’t even believe they’re together again until craig verbally confirms that, yeah, they’re together again. and he definitely broke out the anxious-happy hide-face-and-whine bit lol, maybe a bit of (light) cry-laughing and a joking “thank god, my parents have been giving me hell all summer” followed by a genuine “i missed being with you”

That makes so much sense esp considering we’re all here for Spider-Man🙃. I knew I was like I’m gonna think I’m stupid once u say it because I should be better at coming up some themes that would be compelling for stories in general butttt I didn’t think it beeee that stupid to miss the w great power comes great responsibility connection lol🫠 & I only knew the gore thing from ur previous comments/posts so I really only had some weak ass themes I was coming up with lol.

I will say there is one scene where like the dad seems to hesitate about congratulating his son for his powers and I wanna say almost scared in his facial expression but like it’s animation so who knows? I’ve tried finding other people’s thoughts on it like in YouTube Reddit tumblr and just like googling the question hoping the author or someone’s talked about it but I haven’t really many comments on why he hesitated I feel like I’m not in the right side of the internet and just missing it. But I’m so curious if he hesitated because he now knows he has to eventually tell his son. Or he now knows he may have to kill his son? Or he knows that that now that he’s got powers any other people from his species that visits would be sus why he hasn’t taken action yet. Idk I’ve seen mostly people say that he wanted them to die out first but like why didn’t he wait anyways idk. I’ve seen some people say that his mission was to see if humans were compatible w viltrumites for breeding kids w powers. But that rings false for me too because from what I’ve seen from the comics the breeding thing only came out later due to a low population of viltrumites. I’ve avoided what the thing the dad is supposed to do to hopefully not spoil things if u do watch but I feel like u prob already know if you’ve seen stuff about it online lol. Idk ur theme reminded me of this scene because it was like the first inkling I had that maybe it’s not great that the song got powers and I watched the show blind knowing nothing and it struck me as very odd when the scene happened.

I will say now that u made the power/responsibility connection for me it is a very very consistent theme throughout the whole but I’m not sure if I like it as much as you do. I def like that these characters r basically being emotionally tortured nonstop but when mark does the “right thing” sometimes it pisses me off maybe because I’m not that good of a person? And I’m like nope don’t dooo that be selfish and vengeful. Which I am now realizing I have felt that way specifically w Peter Parker like canonically (even tho now I mostly just consume him on fanfics lol). I’m just so shook I missed such an obvious connection when that theme is so present in invincible. Like arguably the main theme lol🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️ I will say I am that person that will read the author’s comments on ao3 and be like ohhhh that’s what they were intending/doing w that scene. I’ve never SEEN this show so I don’t actually know the context of any of this. I just very passively enjoy the idea of superheroes having too much power and it being a problem in their lives. I think I’ve seen maybe 3 YouTube shorts for over the course of years and that was the stand out thing I enjoyed from those clips.

That being said, I didn’t say I enjoyed “with great power comes great responsibility” I specifically said “with great power comes NO responsibility” which is how I write all characters. I’m a big believer in vengeance and senseless violence lol I think characters should forgive less and kill more in all situations.
