Is it wrong for someone who isn't LGBT to base a story around a character discovering their queer identity?

(Context: A while ago I wrote some fanfiction about a trans-female character, and I included poetry about it (because I headcanon the character as a poet). Reception was pretty good, then I mentioned in an A/N that I'm not LGBT at all, and I suddenly got called out for fetishism. There was some fetish stuff in there; before the character realised they were a girl, they thought they just had a feminisation kink. I did research, spoke a bit to a transgender buddy of mine and I really did my best to ensure it wasn't insensitive, but I'm now thinking I shouldn't have written it at all.)

MANGOOO!! hello, been shy to slide into asks but i got very curious looking at your SMG4 posts.. do you have any headcanons you think are cool ? Would be a blast to see them! :D

OH HAI!!!! Oh my god I love headcanons so much I promise, but I'm one of those people who immediately forgets them all when I'm asked about them. Also I forgot which ones are mine and which ones are someone elses, thought tbh if someone HC is good enough for me to think I made it then like, that would be a huge compliment to me haha! X3

I have a few that I can think of off the top of my head right now, there's a few that need a whole post to explain but I'll do that when I feel like it, gonna leave out any LGBT headcanons because I already agree with everyone else, they are all gay and trans except the ones that aren't and that's so awesome.

Again forgive me if I repeat someone else's HC, or if anything I say is proven to not be possible, I fucking forgorrrrr;

SMG3 has tattoos, I know I've shown that one already but listen. He has 3, one is a half sleeve on his left forearm that's got a skull and a bunch of bombs and explosions around it, another one is on his right mid thigh which is a memorial tattoo for Terence, and one very small one on his back right shoulder blade that's just a little skull (it's very blown out and old). He'd like to get more at some point, none of the others have any tattoos but he's trying to convince them to get one.

All the SMG's have the little arrow thing that was on their guardian pod as a marking somewhere on their body, SMG1 has his on his chest under his scarf, SMG2 has his under his hat, SMG3 has his on his lower back, and SMG4 has his on the back of his neck, they're all pretty hidden and not too visible, but anytime they use their meme guardian powers they glow.

Tari is just a bird fan in general, for someone who stays inside gaming she sure knows every single bird ever. She's not a bird watcher but she can identify any bird you show her easily, and she's always happy and excited to see bird when she does go out. Obviously though ducks are her favourite, but she like all waterfowl in general.

Karen is divorced, she just gives me divorced girl energy. She has full custody of her kids because her ex was a piece of shit and didn't want them anyway, her kids were all too young to know about him thankfully. She probably got married right out of highschool or something, those relationships never seem to work out. I keep thinking of those "day in the life of a divorced 23 year old" videos like, that's her lol.

Bob's secret hobby is fabric work, you will catch him dead before you catch him admitting or even showing anything he makes, but he makes garments and furniture for fun. Sometimes he'll throw them into the black market and lie about their value for a quick buck and to clear out space, he doesn't care much once they're completed he just likes making them.

I think this one's just semi canon, but SMG4 Mario is secretly really good at reading people, yeah he's kinda dumb but he can pick up what people are feeling in depth, he just doesn't always get why. He's also just a good guy to go to for comfort, not advised though don't listen to him, he's just really good to ramble/vent too (mainly because he won't remember what you said lol).

I'm sure I'll think of more as soon as I post this, but come back and ask again at some point and I'll try and remember them lol

Boiling Isles Angel's headcanons.

So, something I discussed with my friend @ordinaryschmuck was the idea that angels do exist on the Boiling Isles. And since I previously asked if someone else had ideas, I figured I'd share mine.

The Angels reside on islands that float in a ocean of clouds just above the clouds that deliver things like boiling rain down onto the Isles, called the Floating Seas. It's a bit like Skypia from One Piece, where the clouds act more like water and oceans than actual clouds, complete with "fish" and "sea life" who get through the clouds by flight.

Unlike Witches, Angels don't have pointed ears. Instead, they all posses wings. And instead of a bile sac in their hearts, Angels magic storage organ is a gland in their brains. They have halos because they're a magical optical illusion similar to a rainbow created by excess magic being vented through the pores in their scalps.

Despite how different they might seem, Angel and Witch magic is almost exactly the same, done through them making spell circles. They even have the same main nine tracks as Witches, though their Abominations are more like solid statues then slime blobs and they call them Guardians instead.

Angels also have some similar seeming magic items to witches, such as using scrolls as phones. However, instead of having crystal balls for computers and TV substitutes, they use mirrors instead.

Angel food is much closer to human food than witches food is, being made up of regular seeming cows, chickens, and human like vegetables. However, unlike human food, Food grown or raised by Angels on their land either shines with bright light or looks as if it was made of gold. Even the raw salt they gather look like bars of gold. Eating any of it gives the eater a bright golden glow, giving Angels and other species that reside above the clouds with a golden shine to their bodies.

Angels aren't the only species that reside on their floating skylands. They also share the land with dragons and nature sprites. These beings also have wings and can perform magic.

According to myth, the Archipelago was formed when a great dragon, with powers equal to the Titan's of the Isles, came from the stars and breathed the magical floating clouds into existecene. Then, her she'd scales fell to the land and made it fertile, also giving birth to the dragons and nature spirits who live their. She then fell into a deep slumber, but would one day awaken when needed. Since then, a dragon who was said to be part of the great mother dragon's lineage rules over the lands.

Instead of Palisman, Angels and other magical beings of the sky make their staffs using magical jewels they then use to make staffs. They place a single magical jewel at the staffs end, and when they need to travel, the staff can shrink into an amulet that they keep on their person until they need it.

Angels don't have covens, but rather guilds who find work for magic users who specialize in a specific form. And their police force and military that is made up of a group of Angels called the Archangels. Like the Emperor's Coven, they're considered the best of the best in terms of magical ability, and their focus is on protecting the Archipelago.

Despite their different aesthetic, similar to the Islands, the Angel's are naturally fine with most LGBT+ type people.

The Angels are forbidden by law from ever going below the clouds. Millions of years ago, there was a terrible war between witches and angels and when it was over, both sides decided to no longer live in the others lands. Angels fell into myth among witches, but Angel's still know the witches and demons are down there. And most wish to avoid another war, so they keep in the sky's.

Angel's are to witches what aliens are to humans: As far as they're concerned, they're a myth, and anyone who talks about them is considered crazy. (Tiny Nose talks about them non-stop).

This is how his document would look like after he's scheduled for hacking:

Doe is an Italian deer-folk, that's why I chose Santomassimo (can be translated into "Great Saint") as his surname, I just picked one of the most common surnames in my small town cuz ofc I wouldn't use mine even if I wanted to HJDHSDFJSFH

The reason why there isn't an actual birthname listed like for Ivrig still having "Kosuke" along with his chosen name, is that lore-wise, Doe undergo a legal name change. Ivrig, instead, stood with Kosuke during the legal name change in my personal headcanon of him being actually trans. In fact, in game he is not mad that people use Kosuke for him, he is more uncomfortable when his family insists on referring to him as "Ko-chan" using a feminine and infantilizing suffix. Plus, on the documents, his sex is male, meaning he also undergo some sort of legal sex change on paper at least. That means his family accepts the fact he is trans but don't quite understand how to fully be an ally and still use the "-chan" suffix. I assume that general hatred around the LGBT folks has been greatly reduced thanks to the whole "the soul is a source code, everything is prewritten" so people had gotten more understanding of the "I was born this way" and don't see it as something harmful. Although I can still see the older folks being judgemental and always take the opportunity to assume that any sign of diversity is actually a BUG and therefore personality error

This was the case for Doe's parents. His mother was purely Catholic and strongly believed that God sent the BUGs to punish the sinners. As a consequence, Doe lived in fear that even a minuscule mistake could lead to his death, even living under his true identity

After finally getting into university, and convincing his parents to get him a house to stay in, Doe is met with a completely different mentality, everyone is much more accepting and he slowly gets out of his shell to come out as trans. However, not to his parents, at least until he is met with the opportunity to undergo a legal name change. His parents are obviously furious, but not completely against. Doe can still be a pretty feminine name, however, his parents are much more against the fact that he chose to "discard his heritage" and choose a much more standard, English name rather than his Italian birthname. Tho there was still his surname so no biggie in the end

As stated before, his surname can be translated to "Great Saint" although the heritage of said surname is not really specified to be founded by religious backgrounds, it still recalls it quite a lot

Always afraid of religion, he'd grown distant of it, never sharing such detachment to his family and pretending to still be a believer every time he would come back to his hometown during the holidays

Speaking of hometown, his family is Italian but lives in the same setting of Ivrig's. Doe ends up attending a university in the same big city as Ivrig to study design, and that's how they meet

EDIT: Ignore that I completely forgot to talk about Doe's family LOL but he also has a little sister! His mother was first a musician but had to abandon that due to having children, which made her become a music teacher instead. Doe's mother is, in fact, known for being a really good pianist and everyone expected him to take the same passion for instruments. However, that did not happen and Doe took the same path as his father, which is becoming a designer. Everyone looked down on him because they thought that art would've been just a phase and "that job wouldn't have brought him anywhere if not under a bridge". It did not help that Doe's little sister DID take the music passion and started playing all sorts of instruments. Since the little sister took the musician path that the mother couldn't take, Doe was expected to at least take the teaching path. Of course, that wasn't the case, and Doe insisted heavily to go to university and study design. After a tough battle with his parents, they finally agreed

Doe would always go to a specific square near most of the universities' campuses. He wasn't that good with social interaction and never really made much friends to hangout with, most importantly he wasn't used to the chaotic city life, so a nice, calm space where he could sit on a lone bench and draw whoever caught his interest was his go to activity

One day, Ivrig decides to use said square as a preaching spot: everyday he would settle down there at the same hour and preach loud and proud about LAGOM. Every time, Doe was there. Ivrig's passion and his over-the-top personality caught Doe's eyes, enough to actually lend an ear and listen, signing down information as he constantly imprinted Ivrig's poses on his notebook through doodles

He found himself interested for the first time into something related to religion. It quite resonated with him. Feelings are a hassle, they're complicated, everyone expects something different from him and from the way he chooses to express himself, sometimes people make themselves unreadable and confusing as if they were doing it on purpose! He didn't like doing mental gymnastic every time! How others would hate how he struggled with feeling empathy or feeling anything at all! What if... what if he could be inorganic?

However he didn't really feel like just- going there and ASK, that was too embarrassing! Instead, he sneaked behind Ivrig, and sticked a doodle page he made for him to his metal cabinet using a magnet, running away clumsily as soon as Ivrig turned around. Now, Doe is quite recognisable anyway so, the next day, at the same hour, Ivrig started preaching again but, instead of standing still in the middle of the square, he walked around it until he could locate Doe, stopping right in front of him to ask a rhetorical question and conclude it with "Isn't that right, Notebook?" addressing Doe directly

This is what started it all, Doe couldn't really run away from that anymore and, deep down, it was his plan all along, so this time he would be forced to confront Ivrig and get into the religion

One traumatic family disowning experience later, Doe is now living in the shared households of the LAGOM House, and what do you know, it's the same one where Ivrig also lives in. Doe survives with his scholarship and part-time job money, which is more than enough considering the high sense of community and the other believers helping him out, just like they did for Ivrig. In a way, Doe became Ivrig's disciple, always going to him whenever he was in doubt

Once he reached Ivrig's rank (Shelves and the like) he also chose a cabinet. Most of the believers expected him to pick a library or anything else related to his strong passion for drawing and designing, however, Doe explained his choice saying he based himself off "functionality and affordance" rather than passion and the being easy-to-assemble. Being a student in design, he follows the rules of "affordance", which is "the characteristics or properties of an object that suggest how it can be used. It shows a user that an object can be interacted with.". The main 3 agents that can be interacted with are Buttons, Switches and Sliders/Levers, with the main 3 interactions being Push, Pull, Turn. A good object is functional if designed to be as such, following the rules of affordance. A library is static, it's just a storage. A cabinet is dynamic, it has a door, it can communicate how to use such door and can be designed in many different, artistic and yet functional ways. Moreover, he designs his own cabinet head to be perfectly functionable, removable, and with glasses incorporated. Ivrig is quite jealous of that but he would never admit that out loud HAJHDFJSH

But, most importantly, he is quite the homosexual for Ivrig, but we don't talk about that /SILLY

Just kidding, we're absolutely going to talk about the homos

Doe is absolutely crushing on Ivrig however none of the two are able to read the room, with Doe thinking that his crush on Ivrig is just him blowing his sense of admiration out of proportions, and Ivrig thinking that Doe's obvious romantic hints are just a demonstration of appreciation because he's such a great preacher

It DOESN'T HELP that, while venting/gossiping to each other about their lives, Ivrig mentions the scam incident, where he truly believed to have met the girl of his dreams. Now Doe thinks Ivrig's straight </3

Soon enough, however, Doe can't resit and, while they're alone and Ivrig is sharing some random fact he knows, he removes his cabinet and gently grabs Ivrig's hands to kiss them since- he can't kiss him due to the cabinet being wielded shut from the inside (for now <3)

Doe and Ivrig are now going through this very simple and fluffy relationship where all they do is just,,, being boyfriends and hold hands that's all <333333

THAT,,,, is,,, until Ivrig does what he does,,,,

Doe takes Ivrig's place as a preacher... however that does not last long as he cannot accept that the one he loved and that actually accepted him could've done such things without a reason. So, in order to prove his devotion to Ivrig he goes against LAGOM and recreates the exact same crime. With the difference that Doe exposes the corpses in a whole ass artistic exhibition IN THE SAME SQUARE that Ivrig used to preach in

When Doe is scheduled for hacking, Ivrig had already been dismissed, so imagine seeing your boyfriend on the news before you could have the time to meet him again after getting reformed,,,, augh,,,

Yes cuz, Ivrig DOES remember Doe, all that the BUG erased was LAGOM and his identity connected to It. There might be missing pieces, a LOT of them, but he still remembers that they were in a relationship. However, Doe... doesn't remember much of Ivrig. That is because Doe is a huge people pleaser, he is the kind of guy that is willing to do everything to receive the approval from anyone that even barely shows affection to him. His BUG's outbreak reached its peak due to his denial and desire to receive approval from the one he loved. This resulted into Doe not believing in LAGOM anymore, but also considering Ivrig a charlatan, not remembering much of him in the first place, let alone the fact that he had a relationship with him

Following the headcanon that Captain, Rookie and Unid end up becoming Ivrig's found family, Ivrig doesn't have that many problems going in and out of the HOTFIX building, skipping the security procedures cuz that's their son bitch /silly

So, Ivrig runs to Doe and is immediately struck by the terrifying "Do I know you?" statement </33333

Think that maybe Ivrig went without his cabinet (since I headcanon that after being mindhacked he gets help to remove it and modify it so that he can wear it again and take it off with ease) or left it to Miki or Captain while he waited to be able to visit Doe so he goes back to get the cabinet and wear it again and Doe is like "Ohhh aren't you like-??? That weird ass charlatan?? I followed your preaching and did that bad stuff!!"

Oh well that got worse

So like, Ivrig says "Omg no way I got reformed too I don't follow that god anyway either-!!" and Doe is NOT convinced cuz "Well if you got reformed that's another reason why I shouldn't trust you blindly!"

Ivrig is so heartbroken and asks Captain for advice cuz ofc he would that's his mom now and she's like, immediately in to help and offers to take the guard's shift and watch over Doe instead to talk to him and subtly ask about Ivrig and what he thought about him and if he remembers, which brings in the whole speech about "changing the scenery" (y'know? the same speech she gave to Doctor about change?) cuz yeah Doe is 100% valid for not wanting to listen anyone blindly anymore and become more of his own person instead of being so dependable of other's acceptance, but y'know Ivrig could still care for him nonetheless. They had BOTH changed, that's more than one reason to try again

So they talk again and they figure out that Ivrig doesn't remember shit about his time at the LAGOM House, but Doe DOES and vice versa since, during their time together, they've vented to each other so now they remember facts about the other person but not about their own lives. Even if it's very minimal they share what they remember about the other, tho Ivrig doesn't specify anything about them being together since Doe doesn't seem to remember that at all

So this time, it's IVRIG trying to send hints in the clumsiest way possible and Doe NOT catching them at all <3333

More Beer Yuri Headcanons, since this is an OTP of mine.

Figured I'd go for another round, since I can't get these two dorks out of my head. Once again, slight spoilers for the Pacifist Route.

🤍 Following the end of the Pacifist Route, Ceroba returned to her estate in Oasis Valley after having come to terms with her past. Dina (along with the rest of the Feisty Five) helped her in moving and refurnishing the place. After she and Ceroba started dating, Dina herself would move in.

🤍 Ceroba actually used to be grossed out by reptiles and gave them a wide berth. Needless to say, she wasn't too fond of Dina's snakes. However, with a bit of time and bonding, she started to grow a lot more comfortable around them.

🤍 Overlapping with LGBT headcanons, I imagine Ceroba as a Bisexual Transwoman and Dina as a Lesbian.

🤍 When it comes to public displays of affection, Dina tends to be the more expressive, with her favorite methods being hand holding, putting her arm around her partner's shoulder, kisses on cheek/neck, and playing with her hair. Ceroba is a bit more reserved, but nonetheless still engages with it, usually with kisses on the hand, gentle stroking, or feeding Dina a bite of food.

Dina usually wakes up when this happens and helps Ceroba by hugging her and verbally reassuring her that everything is okay. She always makes sure Ceroba falls asleep first before going back to bed herself.

Happy 5th Anniversary to FE3H, a Game That Changed My Life

It is no exaggeration to say this game changed my life.

In 2019, pre-release, I wrote headcanons during the time about characters, friendships, romances, scenarios, AU, etc. I just decided one day to give it a go. I never imagined doing it but yeah! There were a few others who were writing headcanon lists too, and it was fun going back and forth with them. I got popular enough that people made suggestions if I could write headcanons about 'x, y, z'. It was an extremely fun time! I continued with the headcanons until late 2020.

(Alas headcanons and people suggesting ideas is a dead art unfortunately.)

I also wrote Tumblr drabbles about all manner of scenarios! The game made me rediscover my love for writing. I always enjoyed writing, but I lost that love--it was more of 'I like doing this, but I wish I could love it again'. It also made me get back into writing fanfiction. For years I thought I would not go back to those days, but I came back in full force (even 5 years on)

I wrote my very first gift fic to a headcanoner like me (it became the literal first 'Byleth Eisner & Jeralt Eisner' fic on AO3)! I literally wrote the very first 'Edelgard von Hresvelg/Dorothea Arnault' (Edelthea) fic ever on AO3!

From release date I kept writing fics. I wrote a multi-chapter fics. I wrote a smut, and I never thought I would: but funnily enough through reading FE3H AO3 smut it showed me that it can be an amazing way to flesh characters. And shameless smut is great as well!

I was never actively involved in fandom like this. I wrote fics in the past but left it at that. But I interacted with people and enjoyed it!

The very first discord I joined was based on FE3H. I didn't even know what a discord was until someone I went back and forth with invited and told me about. I never thought I would join something like that, but I did.

During 2019-2020 I received fanart for my drabbles, based on headcanons, and on fics. I had some comments say I single-handedly got them into Edelgard/Claude (Edelclaude) through my multi-chapter fic 'The Eagle and Deer Walk Parallel Paths'.

2020 I ran the very first Edelthea Week! I never imagined I would ever run a fandom event, and that I would also create a Twitter for it! I tried to run an EdeltheaNSFW Week but it failed twice, but that was a fantastic lesson: not all weeks are destined to succeed!

I participated in fan weeks, such as 'FE3H LGBT Week', 'Edelclaude Week 2020' & 'FE3H Polyship Week'. I tried out a big bang but had to step down, but I tried it!

Few months later I was invited to be a social media mod for the Edelthea Fanzine 'To a Brighter Dawn'. I said yes. I also became a writer contributor. I never imagined joining a fanzine ever, as a contributor and especially as a mod.

Not much happened fandom wise in 2021 due to stuff. I lose the will to write (in everything). BUT I put my hand up for the 'Choose to Prevail: An Adrestian Trio Fanzine' towards the end of the year and got in!

2022 and 'Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes' is announced. Eventually I got back into a active fandom role, having overcome 2021. I made dear friends through our love of FE3H that year. I ran Edelthea Week again! I participated in fan weeks again! I started writing two fics that have become near and dear to me: 'Can There Still Be a Brighter Dawn?' and 'The Eagle Who Must Leave Her Nest'.

2023 kept contact with friends. I assisted a friend of mine @laminecuisine (and made a new companion) to run 'Edelgard Rarepair Week'! First time co-running something, and it was fantastic!

2024. Made new friends through FE3H, and kept old ones too. Wrote a collab fanfic with amazing friend @laminecuisine! Ran the third Edelthea Week, am co-running 'Edelgard Rarepair Week 2024', AND will co-run 'FE3H Polyship Week/Weekend 2024'.

FE3H helped me overcome obstacles throughout my life. It brought joy throughout my life. It made me get out there (safely) in the world to interact with others and make friends through some, and acquaintances with others. Throughout these years I have participated in many fan weeks, I joined discords, put my hand up for fanzines, interacted with others, and so forth.

FE3H means so much to me. It has its flaws, absolutely, and problems in the fandom, but when you curate your experiences then you can meet some of the loveliest and most open-minded people out there. I am still a fan, and will be now and forever.

Thank you FE3H: for existing, giving me the gentle nudges to get involved, for rediscovering my love of writing, and trying things I never thought I would do and enjoy.

i said i was gonna make it, so here i am. time for my trans vik drabble. some of these ideas are plucked from @jtalis's amazing worldbuilding convo we had on discord, so big thanks to him for that.

body modification in zaun isn't exactly uncommon, we've seen plenty of individuals with robotic enhancements and other forms of augmentation, so it's safe to say that these types of procedures aren't all that hard to come by. however, whilst i don't think the entirety of the undercity is oppressive to those who identify as lgbt, i do think the procedures and those who specialise in them are few and far between, or are at least incredibly hard to find, and even then, they'd charge a hefty price. and for those living oppressed financially in zaun, that means medically transitioning and getting the care they'd need is incredibly difficult.

going back to this headcanon of mine, that viktor used to steal every so often as a child, such as books and other things such as money or loose change, i think the same could have also been said about medical supplies. he may have banded together with a group of other rebellious kids in need of the same things, such as hrt.

it's not until he was fully established in piltover, until he was officially heimerdinger's assistant, that viktor finally managed to get top surgery. until this point, he was simply wearing a binder.

Dhampir (Vampire/Human)

Blasian (Black/Japanese)

Had an 'incident' where he bit someone by accident (Katsuki), so him and Inko moved to America (Japan has much stricter laws against Vampires and he would've been executed for simply biting someone).

Was not bullied by Katsuki during his middle school years, and was/is homeschooled so he is a bit sheltered and isn't a 'weakling' (he will openly show anger and frustration like in the later seasons of the canon and he's not afraid to throw a punch/kick).

He is tall for his age, and has some muscle to him (most assume he is just 'big boned'/fat until he takes his shirt off).

He can eat normal food (he's a vegetarian because cooked meat smells/tastes 'gross' to him), but still needs blood in his diet so he knows how to hunt (only things like birds and rabbits - his mom uses the meat in her cooking).

Though he has only bitten ONE person (Katsuki), he still has the urge to drink human blood despite how hard he tries to avoid doing so.

If he sees his loved ones hurt or in danger, his more protective/possessive side comes out and he will not hesitate to beat the shit out of anyone who's in his way.

Thankfully, his English is pretty good but his accent is still noticeable (and gets worse when he's flustered or upset/angry - he may start just speaking in Japanese if he's really flustered or just that pissed off).

Like all vampires, he is bi (though he still has a hard time accepting it because Japanese culture isn't really open about LGBT+ subjects/topics - Izuku will be very ignorant about it at the start, but he'll learn about it and adapt quickly enough to not mess up at often anymore).

[ Katsuki Bakugou ]

Turned (once human, became a vampire)

He was once a regular human, but was bitten by Shoto (this is basically the 'Sludge Villain' incident - Izuku was already in America during this so it got messy real quick).

After he was turned, he had to move to America to avoid persecution by the Japanese government (he does not live with his parents as they stayed in Japan - he was transferred to a Vampire Rehabilitation Facility alongside Shoto).

Pretty much the same as in canon, but his personality is more like the later seasons (a lot more quiet and soft - him turning into a vampire caused him to self reflect, though he still has that temper and is 'aggressively kind' now).

He will push himself to his limits, often not having blood for days/weeks before he snaps and bites someone (says he 'doesn't need it' but he's just being reckless and thinks he can 'overcome' his vampirism).

His English is terrible, just like in the canon (he feels he doesn't need to learn English, even though he's not going back to Japan probably ever again in his life).

He was already gae, but he's a little bitch about it (good way to pester him is to just make gae jokes and watch him get really defensive about it - he is not as accepting about LGBT+ stuff, but he also doesn't give a shit about it either).

[ Shoto Todoroki ]

Pureblood (born vampire)

His dad (Endeavor) wanted to 'experiment' with vampire blood, so with every child he had he would inject vampire blood into them during development (Shoto is the only one who survived this so he's an only child).

His dad still heavily abused him, 'training' him to overcome his innate vampirism which only led to him attacking someone (he ended up turning Katsuki by accident and both were sent to the Vampire Rehabilitation Facility).

The exact same as in canon, the only difference is he's meaner for a lot longer than in the first couple seasons (basically a grumpy emo boi who still hates dad but he also hates humans too and loves to complain about it all the damn time).

He does not skip on feeding at all, though he hates it because he can only get it from humans (he'd throw up and get sick if he got it from an animal so he has 'donors' who help him - again, he complains about having to do this all the time).

His English is perfect, he naturally knows all languages and speaks them fluently (he has rare moments where he messes up and it is really funny but only happens when he's pissed off).

He is bi, but his hatred for humans stops him from pursuing any relationship so he comes off as AroAce (he doesn't understand human customs or social etiquette so LGBT+ stuff isn't something he really 'gets' but he also isn't outright dismissive of it either).

Sexuality Headcanon: I normally imagine him Bi, but my interpretations of him are super flexible. He's like Subaru to me in terms of being LGBT all at once.

A ship I have with said character: Reinemisuba is pretty good - a good friend of mine got me into it, and I'm very excited to beta for it. I like ReinJuli a lot too! ReguRein is also really, comically, funny.

A BROTP I have with said character: Cecilus and Rein is a funny dynamic. I don't mind it romantically but it's really funny how Cecilus crashes at Julius' place for a week just so he can fight this guy. They're literally the red hair/blue hair dynamic I've seen memed tons, except both of them could (and have at least in Cecilus' case) kill thousands without much effort at all.

A NOTP I have with said character: Rein/Felt! That's his little sister trying to undo Astrea Family Trauma as best she can.

A random headcanon: Subaru sometimes likes to teach Rein about different hobbies back on Earth, and it exponentially grows his blessings list with obscure little hobbies like flower pressing or arranging.

General Opinion over said character: What a poor little meow meow of a character. I love him to pieces, from his appearence in ex 4 to some of the felt side stories. I need to read more of them to have a much stronger appreciation, but exposure to my mutual's love of him has definitely put him very high up on my list of faves.

He's a hardcore people pleaser and it's so transparent when it comes to Subaru. There's so much I could go into solely about his relationship with Heinkel - this is a reminder to myself to finish Once Upon a Time In Lugunica - and how good of a father figure Heinkel was before it all went wrong >:( but this does raise the question regarding Heinkel's personality and Gluttony - if he got Rem Situation and woke up, would he be alcoholic Heinkel, or would he be back to the proper father days since he'd have no memories?

...Does Reinhard remember gluttony victims? I can't actually remember if he does or doesn't...

Either way, adore this boy to pieces. Would love to write him more one day, but I need to finish all my WIPs and the Felt SS to do so first.

You know what? I liked better without all the representation. No, hear me out.

Before all this shit about rep started, the fandom decided what their interpretation was. If two females were very close, it could be friendship, but we could ship it with no consequences (ex. Shinigami and Karai 100% lesbo couple, Leosagi in 2003). Now they like. Decide a character is gay and don't do anything with that. And if you ship said character with someone of the opposite sex, then shame on you.

Like, are we forgetting the real deal of a fandom? Are shows trying to stop us from shipping and headcanoning things? Stop this shit. The one show I can say I like the rep is TOH but even then the fandom can be SO TOXIC for ships that aren't obviously lgbt.

So yeah. Do I like that ppl can see themselves in the characters? Yes. But that doesn't mean I like how they're going on abt it. Also if you need a character to be the same gender and/or sexuality to relate to them I think you're missing the point of fiction.

Listen, I relate the most to a gay coded anthro male turtle who lives in the sewers and teleports. I am, obviously, not even one of those things. Okay I am gay but my point still stands.

I think what I mean to say is, I'd rather we still had subtle writing where there's space for interpretation in media instead of showhorning things into other people's face and praying that some rando won't come and call upon the gods of cancel culture and the morality police because a character didn't end up with this or that other character, or the rep wasn't "done right". Just the act of expecting it to be "done right" is so frustrating to me; sexuality isn't a universal experience, it's personal and individual. Your experience is not like mine, and so I may relate to a character that, for you, is just bad rep.

Now, I'm not here to say those characters are nice people but that doesn't mean their fans like them because they are "hetero" and just like a hot guy. They are good characters and had cool dynamics with Kagome (yes that's subjective and you might disagree with it but some people did enjoy it). I do agree that Sango should have been on the poll but there are legit reasons people enjoy darker ships or enemies to lovers trope, they can be engaging to some. So to dismiss it as just "hetero girls liking a hot guy" is very bad. The reason I'm sending you this ask is because I think you are a good person and might recieve well my comment. I considered sending an anon but I wanted you to "see" me as we talk and I hope I don't get any harassment over this from others. Anyway, thank you for reading.

First of all thank you for sending this message non-anonymously! I know it can be stressful but it is definitely better for discussions. If I see anyone sending you hate over this I will fight them personally.

When I said “this fandom is painfully straight” I did not mean “every single person who likes these ships is straight”, that would be ridiculous. But it IS a straight ship. My point is that gay ships are almost never taken seriously in this fandom, as shown by the fact that people ship Kagome with all the male characters she canonically doesn’t like before shipping her with girls that she actually likes. I find that sad. Literally the only gay ship in this fandom that has a sizable fanbase is Inu/sess, but that’s another can of worms.

I’m not here to change anyone’s mind about sess/kag or kog/kag, I’m very much a ‘ship and let ship’ person. Those ships have existed for years so I know very well that me saying “Kagome Higurashi would never canonically love these guys” is not going to change anyone’s mind. So I’ll spare you the whole rant but I’ll say that I’ve read some sess/kag stuff (Raindrops and other fanfics I found years ago) and I’ve never seen Sesshomaru portrayed as anything other than a kind, suave, gentleman who saves Kagome from Inuyasha the toxic, two timer. His canonical racism and lack of empathy for others is gone. So I have a hard time believing people when they tell me they love the ship because it’s a “sexy villain/heroine, enemies to lovers ships” lol. Anyway like I said, I’m not going to change your mind and you won’t change mine, so no need to argue about this.

Also for added context regarding the “gay ships aren’t taken seriously” issue, a couple weeks ago a bunch of people on Twitter (inukag shippers) made tweets saying they were “disgusted” by the fact that many people headcanon Moroha to be a lesbian. That her blushing at and complimenting girls is “not evidence that she’s gay” and that the “real canon” is that she will end up with Koga’s son (who doesn’t even exists in any Inuyasha media!!!). It’s not an isolated issue with Sesshomaru or Koga fans, as I pointed out the people doing this were inukag shippers and they were called out by other inukag shippers. This fandom as a whole is just not the most friendly when it comes to lgbt+ stuff.

So yeah, I have nothing else to add. I don’t see how my language was harmful if I’m being honest. Regardless of people’s own sexual/romantic orientations this fandom mostly talk about and support straight ships. This isn’t really a call to action either, I’m not telling people what to ship, I was just jokingly pointing that out and hoping that next time people would just consider the fact that gay ships exists as well.

It is far not the first time I've heard explanation that people are just jealous, really :') 👍 Like... That Alfred-chan (aka Clod Frollo) simply hated me and was jealous and latched onto the first chance to justify the unending wish to remove me is painfully apparent at this rate. Inventing up bigotry, harm and opinions that were never there to get the chance to declare someone you hate a "witch" is the oldest trick in the book! If you convince people the person is bad and harmful, you are automatically justified to treat them however you want.

It might be my lore, because they were really mad at the fact that I write essays on multiple occasions? Like, they try to paint it as me "having no life" or "being mad", but. dude. dude you are projecting. If the only way you could write essay on a topic you care about is abandoning all your chores and needs and/or getting mad at someone, then I have bad news for your intellect? :/ This is a very common attitude from people that cannot say anything interesting on their own and just post the same two-sentence brainlet takes about how much male characters/fans suck or how their [LGBT headcanon] is the only true interpretation and everyone who disagrees can't analyse media. 🤔 So how can they feel better about not having as many interesting headcanons or good theories? They've picked the low-effort way - to attempt destroying the value of "lore essays" by painting them as a bad thing! Late night ramble incoming.

It's been a hot minute since I've tried to write fanfiction/original stories. I used to write all the time, but as I grew up my focus shifted to my end goal project, Student's Echoes.

I used to write a lot of Undertale and Meet the Robinsons fanfiction, but sadly I got rid of most of the notebooks that had all that in them. I remember specifically hyperfixating on the Undertale Nerd and Jock AU, as I do now. It was my favorite AU then and it still is now (especially since recently I've seen it being remade without the problems).

The NaJ fic I was the most proud of was one I made for a ship. It wasn't about any of the "core" ships at the time. It was between Paperjam and an early version of an OC of mine, Mintalene (Mint). I remember in the original idea for NaJ, PJ was being hit on by a cheerleader-rabbit girl. I don't know if she ever had an official name, but I've always just called her BonBon. That's why her SE counterpart has that name. (I also could be completely misremembering this.) Anyways, Mint was essentially what I dubbed the "nicer alternative" to BonBon. She was sweet, had a little spark to her, and she actively called PJ out on his bullying bullshit. I specifically recall writing BonBon to be like... the jealous spoiled rich mean girl type. Which to be fair probably wouldn't have been too far off. It's funny remembering this fic because Mint now is totally different. She's now a college student majoring in theater/acting who has no romantic/sexual attraction towards men whatsoever. She's also notably more "punk" as opposed to "cheery" nowadays.

As for Meet the Robinsons style fics, I remember the classic "What if Lewis was never given up for adoption?" query. Which, funnily enough got revamped to who I call "Reboot Lewis". It hits a lot of the same notes the original fic did, just more fleshed out and you know... logical. Miscellaneous ones I did were about a lot of my AU Lewis'... but I did do another original one, this time focusing on a ship! Not between Franny and Lewis though, no. And definitely not Timecest. I refuse to touch that with a thirty-nine and a half foot pole. Seriously, they are father and son, gross. But Lewis and Lizzy. For those who are unaware (or you forgot), Lizzy was a character we only see briefly near the beginning of the movie in the first science fair scene. She's notably goth and she seems to have an infatuation for fire ants. Lizzy is the stereotypical "weird goth girl" I'd say. Like when Mr. Willerstein notes that fire ants have the tendency to bite people, she says "Only my enemies" and raises an eyebrow while still scowling. Later when the sprinklers are on and all hell is breaking loose in the gym, she can be seen in the background smiling like a maniac. Anyways I made a ship fic between her and Lewis. Why? Dunno, I thought it would be funny. Now I ship her with Franny and Lewis as a polycule, and all of them share the same bi for bi energy.

Yeah... I don't think a single one of the main/prominent one off characters in that movie are straight. Aside from Stanley and Goob, they seem straighter than planks of wood to me. But Lewis, Wilbur, Franny, and Lizzy are all LGBT is some way. I headcanon Lewis as bisexual, with a 50-50 preference split (however I remember a couple times where I would write him as an FTM trans bi boy, though this is not my go to headcanon). I see Franny as a bi girl with more of a preference for men, and Lizzy the opposite. Wilbur is just gay. You cannot convince me otherwise. I would always lean into these headcanons while writing these characters in fics. Like a line about Lewis finding a male classmate cute or Lizzy looking at a girl for an uncomfortably long time. You know, stuff like that.

All this to say that I kinda miss just writing short stories and longer works. Might try to get back into it one of these days. Maybe not for NaJ, but Meet the Robinsons. WE NEED MORE MTR FICS ON THE INTERNET! AND IF NO ONE ELSE IS GONNA MAKE THEM THEN I'LL DO IT MYSELF, DAMN IT!
