After finally graduating high school, Ford is ready to put his hometown far behind him, only to end up being abducted on his way to Backupsmore and wakes up on an empty sinking ship with a strange bracelet reading “6” stuck on his wrist… Eight other strangers have met the same fate, all with a different number on their bracelets, ranging from one to nine, and the group receives a message from someone called 0. Their anonymous captor gives them a simple order: participate in a deadly game to escape the boat or drown.
Been thinking about a 999/Zero Escape AU for a bit now! (aka “we may be trapped in a death game with limited amount of time to escape but we will ramble wikipedia articles and thought experiments at you” the game)
Puzzles and quantum thought experiments and digital roots galore! Honestly if he weren't late to college and also the whole. Threat of dying thing. Ford would be having a fun time. Probably.
Participants I’ve thought of so far:
2 - Snakeyes: a self proclaimed professional gambler but is apparently just an old sailor who works on a fishing trawler. Is far too laidback considering this is a death game. He immediately gets on Hex's nerves and seems to have fun doing so.
He’s pretty good at word and number puzzles but he's someone who knows more than he seems...
3  -  Tri: calls himself a salesman, smells suspiciously of formaldehyde (the alleged reason why Snakeyes ignores his code name and calls him Hyde), may or may not be a cult leader/walking corpse from the 50s/a literal triangle. Is also far too laidback considering this is a death game.
Knows too much. Tends to let others take the lead in solving puzzles and prefers to observes as if they all weren't under the threat of death, has fun dropping cryptic and useless hints
5 - Star: This is a child. Who put a child on a sinking ship??? (SE calls her “pumpkin”) Is far too well-adjusted to the situation considering this is a death game.
Pretty smart in high tension situations but otherwise a bit prone to goofing off to help de-stress everyone, and tunes out when quantum talk is happening. With her weird girl powers, she can help provide a well needed unique perspective
6 - Hex: Had recently left behind a dream of sailing around the world, only to end up trapped on a boat. Great. (Snakeyes calls him ‘kid' despite there being a literal child on board who doesn't get called that. Tri calls him "Sixer" which definitely doesn't piss SE off, nope, not at all)
Is a sucker for riddles and can basically blast through any type of puzzles normally, but there's something about the ones on this boat that tricks him perfectly into getting caught up into the wrong train of thought which forces him to rely on the others
Spoilers for 999 and VLR (and probably won't make sense if you don't know the context anyway):

i'm rlly sorry to ask but can you please recommend me some rlly angsty/dead dove akeshu/kavetham ffs? if it wont bother you too much, ofc.
Anon, I'm like literally the worst person to ask this??😭 All I consume and create is domestic fluff... help.......
I have some, I think..? I've asked my followers on twitter/bsky to help out with recs, hopefully others can recommend more and I can update this but for now I'll put some in a read more for you :>
JUST TO PREFACE: I don't really read dead dove, so I can only recommend angst and generally my angst needs to have comfort so... I'm sorry if my angst is weak to you. I'm someone who likes wholesome content more than intense things so um yeah, sorry for being vanilla.
Also please expect most if not all of these to be R18.
Akeshu (More general recs part 1|part 2|NSFW)
1) Sucker's Prayer by Thornofthelily This is probably one of my most favorite fics in terms of how Goro is written. It’s a really messed up premise with very bad kink negotiation but Goro is written so damn caring and tender I love him so much but Akira may annoy/make you disappointed. It’s just so fucking good.
2) Even the Mountains Crumble by rosegardenlake A classic in the fandom, and totally lives up to the hype. TLOU AU... I'm still reading it but I know it's a banger, the characterization for Goro is amazing, absolutely the best, everything he does is perfect and he's so cool and hot and all the themes and the dialogue is BRILLIANT
3) A first spring with you by Manibarilo Probably one of my most favorite fics, such an amazing and very perceptive look into the psyche of Goro Akechi. I can't describe just how this fic took my breath away, reading it made me feel so giddy because this Goro Akechi is my ideal Goro Akechi.
4) The Stone Heart by tofupancakes part of a series but can be read standalone, old man yaoi married akeshu. I love the angst but there’s a happy ending
5) paint the town, take a bow Really great fic, a bit messed up but it’s entertaining
6) my back arched like a cat (my position couldn't stop) by miyings cw: has marushu to an extent if that’s uncomfortable for you just skip this one but it’s really hot how possessive Goro is. Also: akirussy
7) love me mercilessly by blue_jean reallllllyyyy violent and quite intense, has top drop
8) anywhere, i would have followed you by blue_jean depression fic where akira is sick, the sex scene is really tender and breaks my heart.
9) Pocket Watch by mylilakirameowmeow This one is quite infamous(?) in fandom. I personally have only read part of it because I'm not really a NSFW person and also I got scared of the switching tag LOL if you're not as allergic to bottom Goro then maybe it's what you're looking for!
10) a guide to gardening for celebrities and serial killers by cruellae I really like this fic because of this "dull sadness" feeling from it(?) It's like... navigating a very hard situation in the most normal way you can by looking at it objectively... but it's also because you're just trying to suffocate it from surfacing because admitting to the hurt will break you.
My favorite line from the fics is:
“I’m sorry I can’t let you go,” he whispers. “Even if it would be best for you…I’ll never be able to let you go.”
Kavetham
1) A Moment of Your Time by Aria_Faye omegaverse, one of my most favorite kavetham fics ever... The themes, character portrayal and raw emotions is just amazing I honestly think it's the ideal balance between the two of them.
2) Bear favour by MiracleSprinkles Another omegaverse, I really enjoyed the feelings in this one. I particularly enjoy how Kaveh is written, how awkward he is when he wants to apologize... saur good
3) Not Quite Broken two parter series by SkySpider Literally everything by SkySpider is so angsty and pain, I love the theming very much. On and off note, my favorite fic from them are the notice board fics: This one and This one.
4) Differing Touches of a Similar Love by Astraabyss Light angst, beautifully written...

20 Questions for fic writers
Tagged by the ever lovely @scknight05
1-How many works do you have on ao3?
- Only 18 in total. 6 for Buddie.
2-What’s your total ao3 word count?
- 78,631
3-What fandoms do you write for?
Currently just for 911. BTS. I wrote for some anime fandoms back in the days of ffnet.
4-Top 5 fics by kudos?
♡ They're all Buddie fics!
This is Our Happily Ever After
I’ll rearrange the letters of your name to spell love
Lies written in ink (can be facts too)
This is my devotion (you are my prayer)
Traces of your love under my skin
5-Do you respond to comments?
Absolutely. Might take some time but I love getting comments and replying to each one of them 🥺
6-What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
None (yet?). I don't like writing angsty endings. Such a huge sucker for happy endings!
7-What is the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
All of them? 😂 But I guess, without spoiling the ending, this probably counts as the happiest so far.
I’ll rearrange the letters of your name to spell love
8-Do you get hate on your fics?
Not in this fandom no. (I've only received hate once, ever)
9-Do you write smut?
Yes. I've written drabbles but never a full fic because smut fics aren't my thing. I'm not very good at it because I tend to lose patience very fast 😂.
10-Craziest crossover?
None. I've never written crossovers. Generally not a fan of it. But in the future, who knows?
11-Have you ever had a fic stolen?
None that I'm aware of so far. I'm not known enough for this to happen 😂
12-Have you ever had a fic translated?
Someone offered to translate one with credits but I don't think it was ever posted 😂
13-Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Not anything published. I'd love to try once but I'm not sure how that'd work.
14-All time favorite ship?
As someone who can never decide on anything this is the worst question you can ask me 😂. I love too many. Buddie is definitely one of the top ones along with Madney, Henren and Bathena. Others include Merthur, Cherik, Kagakuro, Makoharu, Root/Shaw, Morgwen, Stony, WinterFalcon, McDanno, SNS, WeiLan, Edwin, Stormpilot, TouYuu (my babies), KuroFei.
15-What’s a wip you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?
So far none.
16-What are your writing strengths?
Writing fluff probably; I've been told I write a lot of feels inducing fluff? 😂. I really love writing about gentle small acts of love between characters. Just them taking care of each other. Sappy stuff.
17-What are your writing weaknesses?
Time management and actually getting to the writing part 💀. My writing is very muse based, I can't just sit down and start writing like some people. It's truly a struggle 😭
18-Thoughts on dialogue in another language?
Never written any in mine. Read plenty and I'm fine with it. It's only slightly frustrating when the translation is not included because it takes me out of the story when I'm trying to read and translate at the same time.
19-First fandom you wrote in?
Before I even knew what fanfiction was, I had multiple notebooks glued together with the story of an OC in the X-men Evolution universe 😂. The officially published one is either Bleach or Naruto, can't remember.
20-Favorite fic you’ve written?
Listen, I really kind of love all of them. Not because they're good or whatever but because I wrote them you know. Like, I really created something. Every fic good or bad has a little piece of my soul in it so I just love all of them 🥺
And which one I like best differs from moment to moment. Currently it's probably Lies written in ink (can be facts too) because it was a bit of a different writing style for me.
Tagging: @lemotmo @eddiediazismyhusband if you both haven't done this yet. And anyone else who wants to join please do and tag me so that I can read it 🫶🏽.

Twenty Fanfic Writer Questions Okay, this is embarrassing, because I got tagged in this like two weeks ago when I was in time zone stupor, copied the prompts out, and then forgot, and I think it was @stellanslashgeode who tagged me - if not, I will cry with embarrassment so don't tell me if I'm wrong.
And :'D I don't remember either who was tagged when it was going around, so here's some no pressure tags (and hop in if you want to play and I didn't tag you!) - @bolithesenate @calcedon79 @purple-ant @reconstructwriter
1. How many works do you have on Ao3?
10!! :D Which is totally amazing to me. Where did they come from?! Who made them?!
2. What’s your total Ao3 word count?
Oh god, almost 300k… I don’t have any explanation.
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Just Star Wars! I can only handle one frenzied obsession at a time.
4. What are your top five fics by kudos?
Sitting in the Dark, Five Days to Murder Sifo-Dyas, The Thunder Answered Back, Milk Run, and hey, aww, wow, Jedi Nights?!
I’m a little surprised any of my Sifo-Dyas/Dooku stuff beat out anything else, it’s such a little tiny ship!
5. Do you respond to comments?
I do, it's my favorite part. I get a tremendous amount of inspiration and energy from engaging with people who take the time to talk to me about my work. And friends, too! I have been in my fandom since I was like 11 or 12. I’ve made lifelong friends out of my comment sections.
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
I'm a sucker for a happy ending so a lot of them end on an upbeat note, but I can’t imagine The Thunder Answered Back ending on anything other than a mixed note. I'm not gonna be able to undo Order 66, you know? It’s a salvage job, not a fix it. If Jocasta gets through the fic without killing Dooku, we will call it a happy ending.
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
My corny Five Days to Kill Sifo-Dyas probably has the most classical happy ending for the saga but my favorite is the one in Sitting in the Dark - Qui-Gon waking up on the couch with Rael asleep next to him, and listening to Dooku and Jocasta and Sifo-Dyas wash up after the party. That little kid feeling of being safe and sleepy with your adult family happy and laughing softly nearby.
8. Do you get hate on fics?
Ohhhh, if I had a dollar for every time one of my friends made some joke about me writing Count Dooku porn! But I don't care about that, if they actually read my shit, their pervert asses would become terribly addicted to it. They’d be begging at my door. “More old man yaoi! PLEASE!” (This is a joke, my local friends have been very nice about my return to fic writing and the teasing is loving.)
Weirdly, the nastiest hate comment on a fic I’ve ever gotten was in the Before era, when I was writing fic on my old teen account. It was on a young Knight-age Dooku/Jocasta one shot. It was a simple, very vanilla romantic moment with a T rating at best so I don't really get why the person was so worked up about it? I think they just couldn't get around Dooku and Jocasta (OLD PEOPLE?!?) written as young and attractive. For years, I was horribly embarrassed about the fic, like it must really actually truly suck to have someone spend so much time writing such an extensive hate comment. I must have really fucked up.
I went back and reread it recently and realized: oh, no, it's a regular fic, they were just a fucking loser.
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
The…sex kind!!
But yes, I do! Mostly Sifo-Dyas/Dooku these days, but also Jocasta/Dooku and once or twice the holy Trinity of the three.
I was REALLY shy about posting it at first and I still kind of can’t believe I did, but it was absurdly good for me as a person. Great for my religious purity culture baggage, my teenage years as a closeted queer person, just a really freeing experience.
And it’s hot. And you get to think about Dooku saying or thinking the word “erection,” which is worth it just for that.
10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?
Nah, I’m boring.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Nope, but I have been lucky enough to help with the English in bringing several of Purple Ant’s remarkable works over from Russian.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Yep! In the Before time, I cowrote a lot, although I don’t think I posted much. One stands out: I remember this big rambling self-insert (we called them Mary Sues back then) I did with my bestie where we were transported to Star Wars world and we had to… I don’t exactly remember, but I think Obi-Wan falling in love with one or both of us was a big part? I went back and deleted it years later because it was so cringe. But that’s silly too - we were like twelve, of course it was silly and cringe!
14. What’s your all-time favorite ship?
I tend to be pretty fucking stupid about Syku.
It’s just. Two people who manage to collectively destroy their own universes together. They’re so connected in such strange, powerful, frightening ways, they know all of each other’s secrets, they were there on the worst days of each other’s lives, and will go on to be each other’s worst day of their life. And the way, even as they change, they can’t get away from each other, even though they both really try, it’s like they’re stuck in two orbits that have to cross.
And then you read the dumb book, and see that they’re just stupid funny and cute together, idiots who finish each other’s sentences and call each other little nicknames… augh, the bizarre sweetness of it?! It kills me. It’s the narrative doom, but also the weird, enduring love that has Dooku giving Sifo-Dyas a Jedi funeral or trying so earnestly to tell Obi-Wan his crazy version of events with his death, or how Sifo-Dyas goes running back to him for the Clone thing after he already knows so much about how Dooku factors into the end game...
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
I will definitely finish The Thunder Answered Back but I kind of doubt I’ll get to the two years worth of content and every individual character’s endgame storyline I envisioned out of it. I'll stick with Dooku, Jocasta, Scout, and Asajj.
16. What are your writing strengths?
….this is embarrassing, but I tend to think I’m occasionally really funny.
Even though my fics are really serious and I haven’t written any crack, I really try to put in moments of humor, depending on my POV character’s dialogue or internal monologue. I think my best humor comes about when I can get Dooku and Sifo-Dyas in A Situation, slinging shit back and forth. Those two just take off.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
I overwrite. My fics would be a lot more successful if I tightened up and left more on the cutting room floor. I get over attached to small moments of character at the expense of the plot (and let's be honest, word count.)
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
Hmm, does sign language count? That has been really fun in Rabbit Heart. A huge chunk of the fic happens in sign language.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
Star Wars!
20. Favourite fic you’ve written?
It’s got to be Milk Run, by a long shot. I’m really proud of that fic, but it was just such a blast to write. It was so fucking fun. And there’s all these little moments or tiny funny things I’ve left myself in it that are probably only funny to me, but they’re so funny to me.
….Like, so, at one point in the fic, Sifo-Dyas is pissed at Dooku because he can tell he and Jocasta have been sleeping together, again, and this always happens, and he always has to clean this mess and play mediator when it inevitably implodes (and also maybe he is in love with Dooku a little bit?). So he’s furious about it, but pretending not to be, and so he bitchily tells Dooku the name of his ship is The Haru-Spicy, as in, a cooking pun, instead of the real name, The Haruspicy. And then Dooku spends the entire rest of the fic just wildly mispronouncing the name of the ship in his own POV chapters and to other characters?
I love to imagine him saying it, all declarative, “The Haru-Spicy!” And everyone just stares like “do we correct him… or…?” Sifo-Dyas quietly soothing himself, chuckling over this small pettiness. Cracks me up.

20 Questions Game
Thanks for the tag, @bronzeagepizzeria <3
How many works do you have on AO3?
68!
2. What's your total AO3 words count?
734,052
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Currently, I really only write Doctor Who aside from a handful of other one-offs I've written, but I literally have at least a hundred WIPs/ideas in my drafts.
Fandoms that I have tons of ideas for are Broadchurch and Jessica Jones (TV series), which I hope to get around to publishing. But I have a fair bit of range hiding away haha.
4. What are your top five fics by kudos?
In descending order:
Broken-Hearted (cross-over with Broadchurch; multi-chapter; completed)
Braids (one-shot)
Desperate Measures (multi-chapter; completed)
Exes and Ohs (one-shot)
A Lesson in Romantic (AU; multi-chapter; completed)
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
Pretty much as soon as I can! I appreciate engagement so much and I want to make that known to commenters. Plus, I love a bit of banter and discussion where prompted - it's a delight!
6. What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Oooo, boy. Probably Happy Together? Or maybe the first chapter of Sunburn? Violet Hill was also pretty sad. I love me some dark, heavy stories that fuck up my beloved blorbos.
7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Although I haven't updated in it in quite a while, I've written a fair bit of the sequels for the A Lesson in Romance universe, and, boy, have I made those two have a (mostly) happy life together.
In terms of published stories, I think Study Buddies would take the cake or one of the many TentooRose pieces I've done. The former is very classic, high school sweetheart vibes with just enough angst dashed in, and I tend to keep the latter sweet, fluffy and horny.
8. Do you get hate on fics?
I received some very intense 'constructive' criticism whilst writing A Lesson in Romance - like I'm talking extremely long paragraphs pretty much deconstructing my writing and questioning my content. I was young at the time, it was my first multi-chapter Doctor Who fic, and the fact that this person also pretty much outright told me how I should write my story pissed me off a bit, so I, in the most polite way possible, asked them to stop reading my story and leaving these comments.
Aside from that? I've really only had one sort of bad comment since then, but I opted to not reply.
9. Do you write smut? If so what kind?
Oh, you know I do ;) I currently only write F/M; have explored M/M in the past so I'm down to write queer smut if the inspiration ever strikes.
I'm not really a fan of overly kinky stuff that is, say, explicit/specific (e.g. BDSM), but I don't mind stuff that is vaguely/lightly kinky (i.e. I tend to include voyeurism in my stories, but it's generally accidental). I mostly write either very horny or emotional, intimate stuff - I'm a sucker for the feelings associated with the couple.
It honestly depends on what kind of story I'm writing! But as of recent, I've been mostly producing first-time, emotion-heavy smut with a good serving of horniness/wantonness to build up the tension.
10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?
I've written two - Broken-Hearted and Fobwatched (if you've been waiting for an update, I promise I think of her often... I'll revive her one day). I'd say BH is crazier, as it does entwine itself with the Human Nature storyline from Doctor Who, but Fobwatched has also had some pretty wacky moments!
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not to my knowledge, and I really hope not! I have, admittedly, been a bit fearful of it in recent months.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Again, not to my knowledge! But I'm always open to that conversation if people are interested.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Back when I wrote band/music fanfiction (please forgive me for my crimes), I had started drafting out a fic with someone, but it never went anywhere and we didn't communicate very well either :,)
However, I have been beta-ing the lovely @quite-right-too's fic Dona Nobis Pacem, which has been a lovely collaboration <3 I'm so proud of Cody's work and highly recommend you read it if you haven't!
14. What's your all-time favourite ship?
It would probably be DoctorRose! I've never really been more enthralled with a ship before, and the fact that the special interest is still going strong three years on is a pretty good sign. I also tend to come back to Ellie and Alec from Broadchurch quite often.
In the past, I was a hardcore Reylo fan, and I've always enjoyed random, niche ships within my realm of interests (i.e. Evey and V from V For Vendetta; Jackson and Lisa from Red Eye; an array of ships from my horror movies because I love being delusional).
15. What's a WIP you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?
Look, I'm quite stubborn in my belief that, ultimately, I will finish all my drafts, but I can say that the drafts from when I first started writing Doctor Who fanfiction have been quite difficult to work on because my writing has changed so much since then!
There are also maybe a WIP or two that I have written purely for myself and will never publish. I will probably take these to my deathbed lol.
16. What are your writing strengths?
Hm, I've always been complimented for character accuracy, which I do think I have down pact - writing characters like Ten and Rose have gradually become more comfortable for me over the years and I feel like I know them quite well by this point, which is really surprising considering I've never done a proper rewatch of the show since finishing it aside from some scenes/particular episodes!
I've also always been very anal about detail in my stories - I love including the most unnecessary shit in my work!! Do you need to know what Rose had for breakfast? No. Are you gonna know anyway? YES!!! I just love making my stories feel as organic and lifelike as possible.
I've been working really hard on scenery recently, which I've been getting compliments on! I have aphantasia, so this is something I've put a lot of energy and focus into as I've come to realise it's pretty important for readers lol.
And, not to brag, but I do think I write some pretty banging smut. It's taken ten or so years of practice, but I got there in the end.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Eh, I feel I'm not super great at coming up with like... proper action/plot. Like I can do circumstances and events quite alright, but coming up with something like... say, escaping from a villain/bad situation, I've always felt pretty shit at accomplishing. However, I always try to improve.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
I only speak English, so it's a bit daunting! But I just use Google Translate and consult others where possible. And, as Niyati has mentioned in her own post, I recently used her technique of writing from the non-speaker's perspective and it's been a welcome addition to my skills! Shout out, girlie <3
19. First fandom you wrote for?
It would've been 5SOS, but those fics are long gone - I deleted them from Wattpad, and the iPod that the original drafts are on doesn't work, unfortunately.
I also wrote about other bands that I listen to - Asking Alexandria, Of Mice & Men, You Me At Six, Pierce the Veil, and Bring Me The Horizon. I still have most of the drafts, but I deleted all but four of them from the internet lol (the ones that were deleted were unfinished works).
I don't write about these people anymore as I did come to realise, Wait a minute, it's kinda weird and gross to write about these people like this lol (no hate on anyone who does). But I'm always down to chat about my sordid past haha.
20. Favourite fic you've ever written?
I would have to say "Come, gentle night, come" as it's probably the most amount of effort I put into writing. I think it's my best smut and cherish it deeply!

i've gotten a couple weird comments from peeps who don't know how to read tags but those go straight in the trash, good vibes only
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
me?? smut?? never!!! lmao i like it all, the kinkier the better. one of my most proudest smut scenes i've written involved some super sweet fisting. i love stuff that's fucking depraved but still with a good undercurrent of softness. love it when they're gross and in love
10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?
i haven't!! generally can only focus on one fandom at a time so i don't know that i ever will but i love a good crossover fic
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
not as far as i know!! just waiting for the day that i see my art on like pinterest or smth, tho
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
no but gosh that would be SO COOL!!
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
i have not!! love beta'ing and being a soundboard for all my super cool and talented writer friends but i write so erratically that i doubt i could co-write with someone
14. What’s your all time favorite ship?
...steddie. i'm so embarrassed but i love them. ineffable husbands is SUPER close behind, tho
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
hmm, had a kooky tentacle porn oneshot in the works but that always gets put on the back burner while i'm writing a multichap thing...and i seem to always be writing a multichap thing. maybe one day
16. What are your writing strengths?
oh smut, probably. my fav thing to write , too, so it makes sense. tho i've heard from multiple sources that my kiss scenes are good, but those usually lead up to the smut anyways lololol
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
hmm, scene transitions or points where i need the mood to shift dramatically. usually skip around those and write them later during the second draft
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
it's cool!! i'm lame and don't know any other written languages so i prolly never would do it for fear of mistranslating smth but it's neat to see, especially when it's the author's native language
19. First fandom you wrote for?
technically i think way back when i worte a lil thing for the gemma doyle series, did not think of it as fanfic at the time, tho
20. Favorite fic you’ve written?
cyclical!! that one was a BEAST but i'm stupidly proud of her. as it is a time loop fic it was THE angstiest thing i've ever written but i had a great time making it.
honorable mention for my current wip, tho, which will be a steddie sex tape au chock full of pining and porn. hopefullyyyy the first chapter will be out soon (!!!)

20 Questions More
This is a deeper and more detailed version of the 20 questions for AO3 fanfic writers. @nottawriter hit me with a tag, I have been attacked lol.
1) How do you keep getting ideas for your ship / fandom? A dash of shower thoughts, with a pinch of I watched a movie and couldn't help but think... Yes, that will work. They often feel like the come from nowhere.
2) Which authors inspire you in your fandom, and why are they so freakishly good? That's not fair how dare you ask me this!!!! Uhhh I'm mostly reading Supercorp stuff these days sooo... @jazzfordshire, @mycatismyeditor, @fazedlight, @innamorament0, @scribblingpunk, @fyonahmacnally to name a few. AAAAND my co-author and a vast array of things @tomatopudding! Why? Idk, I just get drawn a lot to these works and think they're lovely, and I love their depictions of these characters I love.... with @tomatopudding we just vibe very well, sharing the same five brain cells helps.
3) Aside from the characters of your main ship, who are the characters you love to write? If we're talking Supergirl... That's so hard, but I might have to say Brainy and Nia if really pressed... and Alex. I really enjoy Alex.
Otherwise, my other faves include all of the Les Amis from Les Miserables (if you know you know), specifically Courfeyrac and Marius and their hilarious dynamic. Other faves include Eliza Schuyler-Hamilton, Eponine Thenardier and... This could go on for a very long time, are you sure you have time?
4) Are there pairings or tropes you know for sure you’d never write about? Which ones? Not putting Kara and Lena together just makes me sad... So Supercorp ftw all the way, they are my top (I am a lot more amenable in other fandoms I've written for)
Tropes... I'm unlikely to do Omega-verse, I haven't done it and I can't see myself starting even if I sometimes read it.
5) What is your writing process and why is it cursed?
When I worked in retail I wrote on stupid little scraps and probably lost about 75% of them. Sometimes the method is hand writing, and then typing and making edits during that process as well. The handwritten can vary drastically from the typed draft lol.
I tend to fly by the seat of my pants unless someone is keeping me in line. I'm pretty darn chaotic.
I doubt myself a lot, so I always think whatever I write is garbage no matter how much proof there is that's not true. Also, sometimes I get burnt out, or my muse dies and then I feel terrible. Yay.
6) What is your favorite part of your writing process? Falling down rabbit holes, looking into fun topics. Likely ending up on a government watch list for the stuff I've searched up over the years
7) What’s the weirdest thing you’ve had to research for a fic? Uhhh.... hmm. I have no idea what the weirdest is lol. Cause it's on my mind, probably looking up what types of wood are easiest to chop, and why. (There is definitely weirder, but I don't remember right now).
8) Is there a particular writing rule you struggle with (grammar, spelling, tense, reality in general)? Commas. They hate me, and I hate them.
9) What was your hardest scene to write so far and why? Oof. Uhhh... This is so hard! Honestly there is a lot of stuff in my co-written very long series Hamilton Family Album that was *a lot* between research and feels.
Especially when you're co-author hits you with unexpected feels out of nowhere that you weren't anticipating (YOU KNOW WHAT YOU DID).
10) Have your characters ever done something you didn’t expect, changing your plot completely? Of course, they have. It happens all the time.
11) If you could converse with any of the characters, who would it be and why? Ohhh... Hands down Kara and Lena, I wish they could be my friends and we could hang out. Why? I think that they are absolutely incredible, wonderful and I could just sing their praises for ever.
12) What are some of the tropes or themes that you find yourself returning to in your writing? Oooo, I'm a sucker for fluffy romances, and I've been dabbling in smut recently. Other themes for me can be like found family is a really popular one for me.
Since I've written both a lot of Les Mis and Hamilton stuff (among other similar things) I've done a lot of "Modern AU's" as well, which are uhhh varied to say the least. If I can treat anything they way the treat most Shakespeare pieces these days I do it.
13) What’s your most important resource as a writer? Asking for help! Soundboarding with other writers, I love doing it. It helps me make sense of my ideas... Or decide they're maybe too out there (almost never lol)
14) Can you share some of your strategies for editing and revising your work? Reading it out loud, I have a hard time noticing errors otherwise. Asking someone you trust to look it over as well, take your time and double and triple check if you're unsure about something.
15) Which is worse: making the summary, picking the tags, or the anxiety when you post your fic? D. All of the Above
16) How do you define success for your fanfic - hits? Kudos? Comments? Bookmarks? Or just if you like it? I try to just write for myself, usually because I haven't seen something like it and think it should exist. I do really enjoy getting comments if only because I'm always curious to hear what readers think about my work.
17) Do you have a playlist for your favorite character / ship? I don't, and if I did it would be odd... I'm the most massive theater nerd. I do have songs that I think fit the vibes, and some shows I listen to have more apt things than others. Or if it's Les Mis it's the whole dang album lol.
Supercorp things if anyone is curious (and wondering how odd it could get): Mercury Rising from Lizzie, Come Home With Me, Anyway the Wind Blows, Wait for Me and Wedding Song from Hadestown, In A Crowd of Thousands from Anastasia, Origin of Love from Hedwig and the Angry Inch. Maybe I introduced you to something fun today.
18) If fan art was going to be made from your work, which fic would you pick and which fan artist would you like to create it? Oh dear... I don't know. The thing I'd love to see art for isn't up yet and I just think it would be fun but it will be called What Was I Made For... And we're gonna leave at that for now.
19) How many WIPs do you currently have? I'm finishing up You've Got New Followers (One chapter left!), I think three other WIP's (two more plotted than others) and my WIP for May-Hem... So five?
20) What’s your advice to new fanfic writers? Don't be afraid just because you've never done it before. That's why fanfic is amazing. You can do what you want and in reality no one can stop you, just make sure you're having fun.

20 Questions For Writers
One as tagged by @x-i-l-verify and I’m a sucker for answering questions. :)
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
7 (and since it’s not many I’m going to color code them) - Wow that’s actually crazy, can’t believe it’s only been a little over a year since I first posted.
2. What’s your total AO3 word count?
129,165 - Yo, I’ve written a couple novels worth in words let’s go!
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Dream SMP. (though I have a real angsty fic idea for MCU’s Loki that I’ve considered doing…)
4. What are your top five fics by kudos?
(Poor B is for Betrayal is at a disadvantage with only coming out this week lol)
Crow’s Nest
Which makes sense since it is the longest finished work and the most diverse in content, but it’s pretty wild since it’s only been since October. (I’m going to try and not assume it’s just because of all of the co-author, @midnight-fangirl01’s readers lol<3 :)…)
Dreamcatcher
Which I am probably the most proud of as far as my individual work, especially because the concept is really fun to explore. Hoping to finish the sequel soon but we’ll see.
Good Cop ‘Bad’ Cop
This is the shortest non-one shot by like half, so it’s interesting that it ranks higher. I do make some kinda cool graphics for it so I’m glad people like it. Not gonna lie though, a combination of positive feedback and projecting has made it go much farther than the one shot I had originally planned. And since I usually do a lot of planning for stuff it’s no wonder that I have non idea what I’m doing lol. :)
Misery Loves Another Idiot With A Jukebox Where His Soul Should Be (Or umm Misery for short)
(Every time I have to type that out I wonder why the heck I made the title so long, I means its perfect but also you can’t even do a good acronym because that’d still be long…) To be fair the kudo count is really close between Dreamcatcher, Good Cop ‘Bad Cop and this one, which is interesting…
Back in the day, when I first posted this as my blooper reel I did not expect people to like it this much, but I’m glad I’m not alone in my affinity for torture box madness. >:D I still can’t decide which is more unhinged the hopscotch or the crucifixion… like my mental health this year was suffering for real… lol
If The Crown Fits, Wear It
I mean c!Techno should always rank top 5 so it makes sense. ;) As someone who doesn’t love to read one oneshots because I get too attached and sad when it ends, I can’t say I’m overly surprised at its ranking. But also still surprised. Regardless,it was really healing for me and I’m glad it seems to have been for others too.
(Ok though for real my first fic Hell in a Box being the lowest makes me kinda sad not gonna lie. Like it’s true that I think I’ve certainly gotten better at writing, which is actually why I edited it this summer, but it is the one that started it all and while it’s not my favorite work at his point it does have some really cool scenes and holds a special place in my heart.……)
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
Always. Every one. They took the time to make me smile so the least I can do is share the love or fun. Especially when I spend a maddening amount of time on specific details it makes me so happy when someone noticed and enjoyed. <3 :)
6. What’s the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Yes. Oh wait lol I mean technically it would be Misery since there is both no ending and it’s more so a complication so technically it probably won’t get one. But if we are talking a finished work with an actual ending then probably Dreamcatcher I guess, because it’s kinda a sad realization, though technically it would have been Crow’s Nest if not for the co-author spoiling my plans lol >;)
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
I mean easily Crow’s Nest… I mean the ‘epilogue’ is like 13,000 words so that’s how you know it’s good. ;D
8. Do you get hate on your fic?
No not really. And honeslty my self esteem is low enough I’d probably quick if did. :) I did receive a hurtful but also wild accusation (from what I discovered to be a bot) that Good Cop ‘Bad’ Cop was written by AI, which is funny because honestly that fic is really uniquely formatted with literal nutrition facts I designed at the end, like heh? An AI doesn’t come up with this.
9. Do you write smut?
Nope. And I do not read it either. In fact, I originally thought that all fanfiction was smut but after reading my first one that was recommended by a friend I was pleased to discover there is plenty of fanfiction that isn’t.
10. Do you write crossovers?
Haven’t yet? But I wouldn’t be the most opposed to it…
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not that I know of.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Yes, someone is translating Crow’s Nest into Russian, which is pretty cool.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic?
Yes with @midnight-fangirl01 and it was pretty fun. Though the short timeline and time difference made it difficult as well as my canon compliance extremism. But overall, I think we made a really good pair and I certainly got some new writing skills. It is by far the longest fic I have worked on so I’m pretty proud of it and certainly couldn’t have pulled something like it off without her.
14. What‘s your all-time favorite ship?
Umm I don’t really do ships, but Drunz is one that is cute, and I always try and keep my fics kinda open and up for interpretation for anyone who does ship them. I think in general my opinion on their relationship doesn’t change much on whether they are platonic or not.
15. What’s the WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
I intend to finish everything I post whether it’s how I planned or less so, because it makes me sad when works are unfinished, and I like closure, however sad or open-ended it is. At the moment I’m struggling with Good Cop ‘Bad’ Cop because my writing is based on projection and spurs of creativity so I guess I’ve struggled to project onto c!Bad recently. I will say I actually wrote most of the end the other day, so worse case scenario I just post it, but I do have ideas for chapters before then. It’s just whether or not I get inspired to.
16. What’s your writing strengths?
I’d say despite generally disliking writing it, character/actual person sounding dialogue. Also my detailed descriptions that help you visualize the scene.
17. What’s your writing weaknesses?
Probably pacing, like I don’t seem to cover a lot of ground in my fics. And for the Dreamcatcher sequel I’ve been struggling a lot with exposition.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
If you mean because the character speaks it then yes that’s fine I love character accuracy but there should be translations. Otherwise it ruins my immersion and it’s rude to make me switch screens on my phone and get blinded by the light just so I can translate. Like lots of people don’t translate for Ranboo and it’s really annoying.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
Dream SMP.
20. Favorite fic you’ve ever written?
How dare you ask be to choose between my babies! XD lol… I mean… I don’t know Misery is the most fun to write because I get to just be unhinged and I can stop or start wherever I want. Crow’s Nest is the one I’m probably the most proud of since it look a lot of lost sleep, research of characters I hadn’t done yet and we basically wrote it in a month and that just blows my mind. But I don’t know my favorite? Maybe Dreamcatcher I guess…
Hmmm tagging: @midnight-fangirl01 @elmhat @catsandgoodbooks @mistythedritten @draconixiaa @swordfright @the-final-sif … umm I don’t know I have no wifi so trying to figure out people to tag is hard but if you’re a writer and you see this consider yourself tagged and feel free to participate I’d love to see your answers. <3 <3

Fuck it I’m catatonically bored and I can’t justify starting to make dinner at fucking 3:52PM so I’m going to rate every Stephen King book I’ve read out of 5 stars. If the readmore doesn’t work I can only apologise
Carrie: genuinely iconic although I do think the concept is better than the execution. 3.5
‘Salem’s Lot: immaculate, literally got me into horror, I will always have a soft spot for it. 5
The Shining: iconic. Better than the movie. Argue with the wall. 5
The Stand: really really ridiculously long but I swear to you EVERY PAGE is necessary. 5, would give higher if I could
The Dead Zone: I read this when I was like 19 and I can’t remember much other than that I liked it but it made me sad. 4, marked down because of the scene with the dog
Firestarter: looooved this. 5
Pet Sematary: the first time I read this (when I was 17) it scared me so much it kept me up all night and the second time I read it (when I was 27) it gave me night terrors. 4, marked down because it is lowkey stupid I have to admit
Cycle of the Werewolf: I’m sorry but it is kind of boring. Great illustrations though. 2
It: THE scariest book I have read, haunts me in my dreams, put me through every emotion known to humankind. Sad and gross. 5
Misery: damn near a perfect thriller novel tbh. 4.5
Dolores Claiborne: I remember liking the stream of consciousness style but also thinking “Jesus Christ can we get to the point please”. 3
Insomnia: the first third of this book is fucking wonderful. The second two thirds are a hot mess and should’ve been edited significantly more. 3
The Green Mile: the story is so so good I feel like it came to SK through divine wisdom or something but I am SO sorry, I prefer the movie. I just think it made the dialogue so much more compelling and the changes made were an improvement. Still, 5
11/22/63: one of my favourite pieces of time travel media ever, I think about this book constantly. 5 (6 if I could)
Doctor Sleep: unpopular opinion but I genuinely like it I’m fucking sorry. Like it’s definitely not good but if you don’t look at it as a Shining sequel and you’re entertained by villains with stupid names it’s fun. 3.5
Mr Mercedes: fun and tense, although why SK had to write Jerome Like That I will never understand. 3.5
Finders Keepers: honestly I found this to be just okay. 2.5
End of Watch: a pretty good end to the trilogy tbh although I nearly cried at the epilogue for my own reasons. 4
Sleeping Beauties: another unpopular opinion but I liked parts of this, but I wish SK would learn how to write women… honestly I just wish this book had been written by a woman or someone who understands women. 2.5
The Outsider: if this had been edited significantly fucking better to keep SK from yapping on and on it would’ve been an absolutely brilliant supernatural thriller, but it is in fact 200 pages longer than it needs to be. 2
The Institute: SK should stop writing about women and instead write about kids. 4
Fairy Tale: maybe this was good or maybe I am just a sucker for ‘boy and his dog’ type stories. 4.5
Different Seasons: Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption & The Body are easy 5 stars, Apt Pupil is like a 3.5 because the constant gratuitous violence is just not for me, The Breathing Method was boring and a 2 at best
Four Past Midnight: honestly I liked all of these novellas. The Langoliers was my favourite and I was kind of sad to find out that’s not a popular opinion. 4 overall
Nightmares & Dreamscapes: stupidly good. Like it’s hard to list my favourite stories because there are too many of them. The Ten O’Clock People, The House on Maple Street and Popsy would have to be my top 3. 5 overall
Full Dark, No Stars: messy but good. 1922 is my favourite overall. 4
The Bazaar of Bad Dreams: think I gave this 4 stars on storygraph but honestly it probably deserves more like 3. Top 3 were Ur, Obits & Bad Little Kid but I also have a soft spot for Drunken Fireworks
If It Bleeds: ughhhhhh I’m sorry but I was epically bored reading most of this. The Life of Chuck was good once it came together and Mr Harrigan’s Phone had a decent payoff, but the title novella had basically the same problems and plot as The Outsider, and Rat just felt pointless to me. 2

20 Questions Game
Thanks for the tag @maria-de-salinas :)
1. How many works do you have on ao3?
25
2. What’s your total ao3 word count?
50,473
3. What fandoms do you write for?
I’ve written for HP, Gilmore Girls, Avatar: the last airbender, Friends, and various iterations of Spider-Man
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
1. Game night (HP)
2. Just another Thursday night (HP)
3. Can’t fight the friction (HP)
4. Would you be so kind as to fall in love with me? (Gilmore Girls)
5. Five Conversations and a dinner date (HP)
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
100% every single time. The fact that people read what I write at all blows my mind, so when people comment I love it so much and definitely want to respond and have a lil conversation.
6. What’s the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Probably either The Life and Times of Sirius Black (canon complaint w/ major character death) or I guess What In The World Has Come Over You? (A bad things happen bingo prompt fill with no resolution of the aforementioned bad thing and an open ending. Which I personally dislike more than a sad concrete ending)
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
I think probably Would you be so kind. But I’m generally a sucker for a happy ending so there’s a fair number of happy endings
8. Do you get hate on fics?
Not really? In my early fandom days a little bit, but I am a huge fan of the block button so. Now I don’t.
9. Do you write smut? If so what kind?
Do I write it? Yes. Does it ever get finished and/or posted? Not as much. Pretty much everything I’ve written has just been PWPs that I either haven’t finished or don’t like enough to post.
10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve ever written?
I have posted one (1) crossover and it was an mcu/itsv crossover. It was originally part of a slightly more ambitious series, which was a post-no way home, post-into the spiderverse, mid-canon shattered dimensions crossover. (Despite the fact that shattered dimensions is a fairly unknown (in larger fandom) spiderman game from 2010). Miguel’s characterization is a bit different in that game than in across the spiderverse and after atsv came out I was like. This is going to be torn to shreds by people who have seen that movie and have no other frame of reference for him. No thank u. (Don’t get me wrong! I love atsv! They’re just two different versions of the same character okay).
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not to my knowledge. Someone asked me if they could repost one of my fics once and I was like ??? No??? And I kept an eye on them for a bit but they didn’t so 🤷‍♂️
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
No, but if someone wanted to that would be fucking amazing. So If there’s any interest lemme know 👀
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Again, this is one of those ‘yes but it never saw the light of day’ things again. My partner and I had a fic that we outlined and started writing together almost four years ago but we both just kinda lost interest/started writing less. It still lives on in my drafts though.
14. What’s your all-time favorite ship?
Hm. That’s a hard one honestly. Maybe Rory/Jess?
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?
There are many wips on my computer, many of which will never see the light of day (the current wip count right now is 112). One I would have liked to finish is the Spider-Man one I mentioned before but honestly. I am fairly certain I won’t.
16. What are your writing strengths?
Characterization
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Action scenes! And sometimes dialogue :/
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
I love it when it’s well done. Hate it when it’s just thrown in there to be thrown in there. Wish I could do it myself sometimes, but my French is ✨not good enough for that✨and I refuse to use google translate
19. First fandom you ever wrote for?
Harry Potter
20. Favorite fic you’ve ever written?
Would you be so kind. Absolutely my magnum opus as far as fanfic goes.

AO3 Fic Tag Game
tagged by @persephoneed. I'm soooo late to the party but thank you for tagging!!
1. How many works do you have on AO3? 6.
2. Whats your AO3 word count? 23,442
3. What fandoms do you write for? Currently, I only write for Wednesday (2022), but I have written a single fic for Supernatural (2005) before.
4. What are your Top 5 Fics by Kudos?
wake up screaming from dreaming
paper rings
Quads and Countermoves
sleep well, my love
let your tears fall
5. Do you repond to comments? Yes! After I post something new, I tend to get overwhelmed and take a day (or two or three..) to respond, but I DO respond to comments! I always think it's very sweet that folks take time out of their days to read and then COMMENT on my things, so I try to comment back most of the time to express my gratitude.
6. What’s the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? Definitely you can't be gone. I had an idea to get in the mind of Tyler Galpin while he was in the woods after he'd been told that Wednesday was dead, and the whole thing is rather sad and angsty. However, I did have fun writing it as it was how I thought his mind had been working since I watched the show in December 2022, and even though it's the least read fic of mine so far, I'm quite proud of it and happy with how it turned out.
7. Whats the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? Hmmmm, I'm a genuine sucker for fluffy fics so all the rest of mine have happy endings haha. But I suppose "paper rings" would have the happiest ending out of the lot.
8. Do you get hate on fics? No, thankfully. I've never gotten a nasty comment on a fic yet and I hope that streak continues.
9. Do you write smut? I had never written smut, HOWEVER I have my first (and perhaps only, who knows LOL) smut fic half-written in my drafts right now... 😳
10. Do you write cross-overs? No, and I probably won't? But who knows.
11. Have you ever had a fic translated? I have not, but it would be an HONOR if ever someone would ask to translate one of them.
12. Have you ever cowritten a fic before? I haven't, but I'd be open to it!
13. What is a WIP you would like to finish but doubt you ever will? I am hopeful that both of the WIPs I have right now will get done, and I do have every intent to get the both of them done and published. HOWEVER, just because I am shy and nervous about it, I do doubt that I'll ever actually finish + publish the smut fic.
14. What’s your all-time favourite ship? W(e)yler, no ship has ever given me brainrot like they have and I'm not sure any ship ever will.
15. What are you writing strengths? DIALOGUE, God I love writing dialogue so much. Part of me thinks I should just write scripts.
16. What are your writing weaknesses? Having to DESCRIBE things drives me batty, I'll sit and parse over how to describe a room or a facial expression for entirely too long.
17. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic? I have never done it, and I'd be SOOOO nervous about doing it in anything other than German, which is the language outside of English I'm most comfortable with writing/reading/comprehending. I'm not opposed to it if the need arose?? But outside of the stray pet names in different languages that may arise in Wednesday and Tyler dialogue, I'd probably want to consult with someone who's fluent if ever I was trying to write something substantial in a different language.
18. First fandom you wrote for? Supernatural. I still need to collect my fic from fanfiction.net and post it on my AO3 account.
19. Favourite fic you’ve ever written? Oh, this is hard. Ummmm, if I had to pick, I think my most favorite (as of now!! I've got so many ideas that this could change) is "wake up screaming from dreaming." It was the first Wednesday fic I wrote, and it was also the first time I'd attempted to write any fanfic since like 2015, and I genuinely adore the story. Not to sound self-absorbed, but I'll literally reread pieces of it if I'm feeling down because I think it's just so sweet and comforting and I'm very proud of it.
20. What fic would you want to rewrite one day? Mmmm, I don't know that I really want to rewrite any of the ones I've published so far. If I ever got comfortable with writing and publishing smut, I'd maybeeeee rewrite "Quads and Countermoves" to be spicier? Because it definitely COULD have gone spicier if I hadn't had a panic about taking it that way.
I do think this game ran its course on here ~10 days ago, so I'm not directly tagging anyone, but if you see this and haven't done this yet, pleaseeee consider yourself tagged!!

ty for tagging me @mamawasatesttube !! <3
1. are you named after anyone? Not really! My middle name is my mom’s mom’s mom’s name (I think? Might be another generation back), but my first name isn’t for anyone.
2. when was the last time you cried? Almost exactly twenty four hours ago, I was having one of my bimonthly identity crises <3
3. do you have kids? Unless we’re counting friends barely younger than me who’ve declared me their mother, absolutely not lol
4. do you use sarcasm a lot? It depends on who I’m with! I guess not really? I use it a lot more when I’m upset about something or joking about something I don’t like I think, I just realized
5. what sports do you play/have you played? I used to play soccer, when I was little! Like, elementary school. I guess I also did gymnastics when I was even younger but it wasn’t sport-y gymnastics
6. what’s the first thing you notice about other people? Depends on how we first interact! Online it’s typically typing style, formality, and tone. Helps me figure out how I should respond, if I interact with them
7. what’s your eye color? Brown!
8. scary movies or happy endings? Happy endings!!! Scary movies give me really bad paranoia lol. Sometimes I can avoid it by pointing out mistakes or production details I notice, but then I’m not really… watching the scary movie as a scary movie anymore. I’m also just a sucker for a good happy ending!!!
9. any special talents? Hey look at how hard I can hyperfocus *crochets for 17 hours straight no breaks*. More seriously though, none that I really know of? I guess I’m kind of flexible but that’s more of a my joints really suck thing than a talent thing
10. where were you born? New Jersey, gotta keep up my mom’s family’s tradition of having some Jersey in them even if they were raised elsewhere (It’s like… kind of strange LOL. They’re literally all over the place but we’ve all got some tie to nj somehow?? I think I know one single person in the entirety of my moms family who wasn’t born in nj or spent the majority of their life there, and it’s bc their parent moved before they got them).
11. what are your hobbies? Drawing, writing, crochet (apparently?? that ones still kinda new to me even if it’s ,, been a few months lol), reading, uhhhh. I’m sure there’s more they come and go
12. do you have any pets? NO I WISH I DID im screaming and sobbing i cannot at the moment but as soon as i can i WILL
13. how tall are you? 5’ 4” ish? I thought I was just under 5’ 5” the second to last time I checked but last time I went to the doctor they said I was like 5’ 3.75” or something so it’s very confusing to me 😔😔 Most of the people I’ve spoken to think the 5’4” is most accurate tho
14. favorite subject? Uhh art? That feels like a copout lol. Overall, probably english? English, art, sciences in general… I can also like history? I don’t have anything against math either?? Most of the time whether or not I like a subject has more to do w whether I associate them w good or bad teachers I’ve had LOL
15. dream job? MAN i have NO IDEA . Ive been agonizing over this so bad . My current goal for career is just “something where I can do something I love and make things that make people happy”, probably in the arts, but you know that’s . Not really very specific lol. And also I’m just interested in other things too!!! If I were going to a different college there’s a super huge chance I’d be looking at stuff w/ linguistics more. Idk!! A job I like that’s stable and secure and also I can make enough money to do hobbies I like and spend time with friends!!! Whatever that is, if I can ever find it!!!!
i am so very terrible at tagging people so if someone sees this and wants to do it just say i tagged you <33 this was very fun!!

15 Interview Questions (for Amelia)
thanks for tagging me, @dotr-rose-love!
1. Are you named after anyone?
Eh, not directly.  My mother thought it sounded “queenly;” same with my sister Matilda’s name.  She was very concerned about that, my mother, sounding royal.  You should’ve heard the airs she could put on.
2. When was the last time you cried?
*sarcastic grin*  I’m not much for weepers or sob stories.  It’d smear my mascara.
[Probably not since she was a kid or at least a young teenager; keeping her emotions hidden is one thing she considers deeply important.  It’s partially to protect herself from being vulnerable, but at this point in her life she’s just made it a habit and struggles to honestly open up about anything.]
3. Do you have kids?
Oh Jesus Christ, I hope not!  Haha!
4. Do you use sarcasm?
Noo, never.
5. What’s the first thing you notice about people?
The shiny bits.  *snort*  No, if I’m being honest, I look for their general mood--like, is this someone who’s open to a conversation?  Are they trying to go unnoticed?  Do they seem the type to fly off the handle?
Now, what I do with that information, that all depends on the situation at hand.
6. What’s your eye color?
Nothin’ special, just...brown.  Same old same old.
7. Scary movies or happy endings?
Hm...I’d say the two should go together.  The happy ending’s worth nothing if you don’t get your thrills & chills leading up to it, and why put up with the scares if you don’t get a happy ending?
...But that’s what movies are for.  Real life usually doesn’t play by those rules.
8. Any special talents?
Any sort of special talent you wish, darling.  One look at you, and *snaps fingers* I can tell you all your most hidden secrets, your dreams, your desires--and your future.  For a fee, of course.  *wink*
[Probably her most useful talents are reading people--which is what all that ‘psychic’/’i can see your dreams’ nonsense really is--and adaptability.  Find an unpredictable situation, then figure out a plan so you can say “mmm, just as I predicted, the Spirits were right”]
9. Where were you born?
Good Ol’ Harlem, New York New York.  Nothing much to say here that hasn’t been said before by wordier people than me.  There’s a lot for the newspapers to get rich suckers crying and wringing their hands about “the plight of the poor.”  But there’s more than that.  Sometimes I see people say the reason we’ve got so many artists is because art needs suffering--but that also means we’ve got people willing to turn suffering into art.  Doesn’t it?
...Whoops, got off topic.  Ignore me, haha, I must love to hear the sound of my own voice.
10. What are your hobbies?
I’m out every every night I can be, looking for someplace new to dance!  If I really need a quiet night, I go to the moving pictures or a vaudeville theater for a few acts.  Usually I only want action, but lately I’ve needed a break more and more often...
11. Have you any pets?
He prefers to be called an “assistant.”
[From across the room:  “I heard that.”]
No, but I’ve never been one for animals in the house.  ...That, and I can barely keep myself fed, I don’t want to be the one keeping something else alive.
12. What sports do you play/have played?
I’ve played baseball, by which I mean, I’ve swung a stick at a rubber ball and run around the pieces of cardboard we plopped down on the street for ‘bases.’  That was when I was a kid, way back when.  Nowadays I only pay attention to sports to keep up with the betting odds.
13. How tall are you?
...Tall enough.  What’s it to you?
[Somewhat of a sensitive subject as she’s usually as tall as or taller than most of the men around her]
14. Favorite subject in school?
Oh, easy!  Arithmetic.  I know, I don’t look the type.  Of course, I got a lot more use of it outside of school--betting odds for the local race track, trade value of chewing gum vs. rouge powder...my teacher always told me the only value math had for a woman was budgeting household expenses.  My household is a party of two and we both take care of ourselves, so I guess that means my teacher wasted her time, hm?  I’m not bitter--genuinely, I’m not--I just can’t imagine wanting a life where you end up as either a repressed housewife, or a schoolmarm who’s jealous of the future repressed housewives in your class.
15. Dream job?
To not have to work, haha.  Oh, I’d find a way to keep busy and fill my days--could you imagine spending all day lounging on a beach somewhere?  They act like it’s a dream--yeah, because you’d fall asleep soon enough.  No, but, look at what the ritzy set gets up to with all their money and free time--parties, vacations, and all the drama of who’s sleeping with who’s wife!  Maybe instead of being one of them, I’d rather be the reporter selling them out to the tabloids.
Oh, I’m kidding.  I just want the free champagne.
--
I’ll leave an open tag for anyone who wants to fill out these questions for their OCs!

Fast & Furious, Summarized
Update: The summary for Furious 7 has been added below.
Every so often I am asked, "Scott, I'm a thoughtful, literary-minded person with terrible taste in movies. Do you know of any scholarly summaries of the Fast & Furious series?"
When someone asks me this, I think back to an email I wrote to a friend on the eve of the release of Furious 7 in 2015. She was (obviously) extremely excited to see the movie, but she was worried that she might not understand what was happening because she hadn't seen the previous six movies.
Now, anyone who has seen and studied the Fast & Furious movies know that this shouldn't really be a concern, since it is frequently impossible to understand what is happening even if you have seen them all. However, to ease her fears, I wrote the summaries below to help get her caught up. I decided to post them here so that they might help invite others into the Fast & Furiverse.
The summaries obviously contain plot spoilers, so if you want to experience the plots in an unspoiled manner, just go watch the movies (which, let's be honest, you should have done a long time ago). However, I have gone to great lengths to make sure that the summaries hopefully do not contain any awesomeness spoilers.
It would be impossible for even the greatest writer to capture the awesomeness of these movies in mere words. These movies need to be experienced. So it was my goal to ensure that reading these summaries would not in any way diminish the enjoyment of watching the movies. (Nor would it obviate you of your patriotic responsibility to watch and love them. For more information, please check the latest patches to the U.S. Constitution.)
Here, then, is my summary of the Fast & Furious franchise. I will also include links to places online where you can stream or buy the movies, as I assume that will be your next step, right? Right‽‽
Living life a quarter mile at at time,
Scott
P.S. Note that I had not watched the series in a while when I wrote these, but I have decided not to go back and rewrite them. I wanted to preserve them in their original state. Somehow I find my faulty memory endearing.
P.P.S. As of this writing (August 2024), this list only covers movies 1-6. I will update this post as I complete the summaries of the four (five?) films that have come out in the intervening 9 (!) years.

Film Summaries
#1: The Fast and the Furious 2001 • $207,500,00 worldwide box office
Paul Walker is an FBI agent who goes undercover to catch Vin Diesel for some kind of car-related malfeasance. Paul was selected for the mission because he used to be a street racer, so he can infiltrate Vin's crew via the street racing scene in which Vin is active. This totally works. Paul prefers Japanese cars, while Vin is into American muscle cars, so there's some tension but also respect, I guess because neither of them likes European cars, which are presumably for suckers.
Jordana Brewster is Vin's sister, and Paul falls in love with her immediately because she's really pretty. He always meets her at a sandwich shop for some reason. Michelle Rodriguez is in the movie too, and Vin falls in love with her, also probably for some reason.
Paul's undercover operation works well. He runs with Vin for a while and they bro down. But when it's time to bust Vin, Paul can't do it because they're friends now, and because he (Paul) sees that Vin is actually not a bad guy but is just the victim of circumstance, and also because he (Paul) likes his (Vin’s) sister, Jordana Brewster. So Paul goes rogue and helps Vin escape the FBI sting. At the end of the movie, they've become the same: good guys who are considered criminals because they did the right thing, plus they have really fast cars and foxy girlfriends.

#2: 2 Fast 2 Furious 2003 • $236,350,000 worldwide box office
The Feds (DEA?) abduct Paul Walker and make him go undercover to bust a criminal (drug dealer?) in Miami. If Paul helps, he gets a pardon; if not, he goes to jail for helping Vin Diesel in the first movie. Unsurprisingly, the plan is for Paul to infiltrate the criminal's gang via street racing.
He agrees, but there's no way he's going to work with the jackass partner the Feds have set him up with, because that college boy knows nothing about cars. So Paul recruits his old pal Tyrese, who apparently just got out of prison, whence he was sent because of something Paul did. But they have a fistfight in a junkyard, and then everything is cool.
Their plan is to go undercover by auditioning to be drivers in the drug dealer’s crew. This totally works. They hook up with Paul's old friend Ludacris, who owns a garage in Miami and is also some kind of street race bookie. He helps them fix their cars. Eva Mendes is also involved, but it's hardly worth mentioning because she has nothing to do.
Some stuff happens, Tyrese cracks wise about a lot of things and calls people "brah", they jump a car onto a boat, and the operation is a success.

#3: The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift
[The third movie actually takes place LATER in the story arc of the films, because the Fast and Furiverse is CRAY. The summary is below, where it belongs in the story order.]
#4: Fast & Furious 2009 • $360,400,000 worldwide box office
I honestly have no recollection of this movie whatsoever. But this is where the casts from FF1, FF2, and FF3 all get merged together: Paul, Vin, Jordana, Michelle, Tyrese, Ludacris, and Han (from the third movie). The gang's all here! Oh, but Michelle Rodriguez dies in a fiery car wreck, but it turns out she was actually murdered.
IMDB Tags: Action Epic • Car Action • Action • Crime • Thriller
#5: Fast Five 2011 • $626,000,000 worldwide box office
This one happens in South America I think? The crew has to steal something from the vault in a police station, a fact about which Tyrese expresses serious reservations in his trademark style. Ludacris is a hacker now. The amazing Gal Godot (soon to play Wonder Woman) is also in this movie, I think as an ex-Israeli special forces agent. I can't remember why. She and Han fall for each other. He wants to take her to Tokyo "when this is all over".
The Rock is here too! He works for a made up Federal agency (those pesky Feds!) that is trying to stop Vin and the crew. The Rock's top lieutenant is the super awesome Gina Corrano, who I mention only so I can recommend a movie she's in called Haywire which is on Netflix and you should watch it. Oh, and The Rock constantly refers to her as "Woman", which I think is supposed to be endearing, but which seemed super sexist to me.
[2024 Editor's Note: Gina Corrano was pretty thoroughly milkshake ducked after I wrote this, but I didn't know about any of that stuff at the time. Support of her views is neither expressed nor implied. You should still watch Haywire though. It's Steven Soderbergh and it's fun.]
There's some other guy in Vin's crew (Michelle Rodriguez's brother, I think?), and he's mad about her dying. There are a lot of man feelings, and Vin talks about "family" a lot. They have some skirmishes with The Rock, but Vin saves his life at some point.
They are also working on a super intricate plan to rob the safe, but at the start of Act III they decide that intricate plans are for losers and they just yank the safe out of the police station by chaining it (the safe) to a couple of souped-up Mustangs and driving away really fast. The Rock catches them, but then he lets them go at the last minute because they are cool dudes who saved his life. Vin and the crew street race off into the sunset. We also find out that Jordana is preggers with Paul's kid.
IMDB Tags: Action Epic • Caper • Car Action • Action • Crime • Thriller
#6: Fast & Furious 6 (aka Furious 6) 2013 • $788,683,000 worldwide box office
Vin is super bummed about his life of crime, what with Michelle Rodriguez dying and Paul & Jordana having a kid and everything. He realizes that life isn't all about the money and the street racing, it's about family. So he decides to hang up his gas pedal (that's a saying, right?) and retire. Paul & Jordana retire too. They don't do any more crimes or street racing, they all settle into blissful domesticity, and nothing else happens. The End.
NOT SO FAST! They are still fugitives from the law, and after their job in Fast 5 they're apparently the best crew around (what?). The Rock thinks so, at least, because he asks for their help to bust a super-criminal. He offers to get them pardons if they do the job. No thanks, says Vin, I'm retired. It's all about family now. He walks away and returns to his new peaceful life. The End.
BUT WAIT Michelle Rodriguez is really alive! The Rock shows Vin a picture of her—running with the very super-criminal he is trying to bust! Vin and Paul remember that it's all about family, so they take the job so they can rescue her.
A bunch of stuff happens, as you would expect. Michelle Rodriguez is indeed alive but she lost her memory, so now she's a bad guy. But Michelle and Vin have a street race, and she realizes what a great guy he is. She switches sides and joins Vin's crew. Vin and The Rock have a bro moment ("broment"?) and declare their platonic loyalty to each other.
At the end there's a big action set piece with a giant plane full of cars, and there's a fight on the plane, and the plane crashes. The super-criminal is injured in the process, but he's also caught, so mission accomplished!
Gal Godot dies in the conflagration (goddammit), and Han is really sad, so he decides to go to Tokyo to do "this one thing he's gotta do".
The rest of the crew have a BBQ to celebrate their success, and they discuss how it's all about family. Michelle decides to get back with Vin even though she doesn't remember him. Vin's super hot girlfriend stops by the BBQ, and Vin tells her to hit the curb because he's getting back with his ex who has amnesia. The super hot girlfriend is surprisingly fine with that.

#3: The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift (for real this time) 2006 • $158,968,000 worldwide box office
A guy who is not Paul Walker gets in a street racing accident. His mom sends him to Tokyo to get him away from street racing; when he arrives he immediately begins street racing. He meets Han, who has been in Tokyo for a few years and is now connected with the Yakuza. Han eats lots of snacks and helps Not Paul Walker (NPW) rise in the Tokyo street racing scene; NPW thanks Han by wrecking his really amazing cars.
The Yakuza stuff goes sideways, surprising no one. NPW gets in trouble, but then he gets out of trouble by—you guessed it—being an awesome street racer.
Han decides to get out of the Yakuza/street racing game, but he has to go do one last street race first, for reasons. He dies in a big car accident in the race WAIT THAT WAS NO ACCIDENT! That wreck was caused intentionally by Jason Statham, who is the brother of the super-criminal the crew busted in Fast & Furious 6! Holy crap! I wonder if this revelation will have any bearing on future movies!

#7: Furious 7 2015 • $1,515,000,000 worldwide box office
Okay, so a LOT happens in this movie. This is going to be extremely long. I swear I'm making it as short as possible.
The movie opens on Deckard Shaw, played by Jason Statham. He’s the brother of super-criminal Owen Shaw, the guy that Dom and his crew took down in the last movie. Owen isn’t dead, but Jason Statham is super mad that they took him down, so he (Jason Statham) is on a mission to kill Dom and his whole crew.
Letty (Michelle Rodriguez) is back with Dom, but she still has amnesia. They have a tearful scene (during which Dom has a sledgehammer slung over his shoulder the whole time) and Letty says that she needs to “find herself” before she can be with Dom. She runs off. (Okay, she actually drives off in a muscle car; this is the Fast & the Furious).
The Rock is in his office at the random Federal agency where he works, and Jason Statham shows up. They have a big fight, and Statham blows up the office. The Rock gets knocked out of a fourth-floor window, plummets to the street, and lands on an SUV, crushing in the whole roof. Statham gets away with intel on all of Dom’s crew.
——— Franchise Plot Continuity Alert———
Okay, so remember that shot at the end of Fast & Furious 6 that shows us that the car wreck that killed Han in Tokyo Drift wasn’t just a street racing incident but was actually caused on purpose by Jason Statham? This is the moment when that happens. Statham leaves The Rock’s office and uses the intel he stole to hunt down Han and kill him. And thus do the events of Tokyo Drift, Fast & Furious 6, and Furious 7 converge.
————————————————————————
Brian and Mia and Dom are living in LA in Dom and Mia’s family home. (Mia is Dom’s sister, remember?) Brian is having trouble adjusting to domestic life. Of more immediate importance, however, is a package that was delivered to Dom’s porch from Tokyo (presumably mailed to him by Jason Statham), which predictably explodes. It completely destroys the house, but (somehow) no one is hurt. Brian, Mia, and their son, Jack, get shipped off to the Dominican Republic to keep them safe.
Dom goes to see The Rock (who is in the hospital and somehow not dead), and The Rock gives Dom the download on Jason Statham. Dom vows revenge, but first he has to go to Tokyo to “collect Han”, whatever that means.
In Tokyo, Dom finds Not Paul Walker, the lead character in Tokyo Drift. NPW gives Dom Han's personal effects, which consists of nothing but a picture of Gisele (Gal Gadot) from Fast & Furious 6 and Dom’s silver cross necklace that we’ve seen in previous films. NPW could have easily FedExed that stuff to Dom, so I’m not sure why Dom had to go to Tokyo in the first place, but fine.
Dom goes back to LA to attend Han’s funeral. Dom’s spider sense starts tingling in the cemetery, though, and he realizes that Jason Statham is there at that very moment! Statham is prowling around the cemetery in a Maserati, and thus Dom has to go prowl after him in a muscle car (a Plymouth Road Runner).
Next there is a hilarious scene in which these two blockheads literally drive their cars into each other head on at full speed, which might be the most poetic description ever of the male psyche.
But before they can have a fight, they are surrounded by a bunch of soldiers who appear out of nowhere. Statham somehow gets away, and Dom finds out that the soldiers belong to a shadowy figure called Mr. Nobody, played by Kurt Russell.
Mr. Nobody works for yet another in a seemingly unending series of mysterious Federal agencies. He has a job for Dom and his crew.
Dom is intrigued, so they go to Mr. Nobody’s headquarters. After some banter about which is the best kind of beer, Mr. Nobody reveals that a gross nerd hacker named Ramsey has (all by himself) created “God’s Eye”, an advanced computer chip or something that lets you find anyone anywhere on the planet at any time. In spite of being a gross nerd, Ramsey has been kidnapped by a terrorist (played by Djimon Hounsou), because he wants God’s Eye to do some undescribed bad stuff with it.
Mr. Nobody says that if Dom and his crew can rescue Ramsey and get God’s Eye back, then he'll let Dom use God’s Eye to locate the incredibly elusive Shaw and take him down. (Even though Shaw seems to be popping up every 5 minutes trying to kill Dom. Maybe if they just wait he’ll show up again?)
Dom says he’ll do it, but he can’t do it alone, and Mr. Nobody thankfully speeds things along by revealing that he’s already gathered Dom’s crew, and here they are. Then the crew walks in.
All of that stuff that I just described happens in the first 25 minutes of the film! That’s just Act I! I’m sorry this is so long, but it’s not my fault!
Mr. Nobody has located Djimon Hounsou; he is transporting Ramsey in an armed and armored convoy that is 100% impossible to intercept, because it’s on a road in Afghanistan (?) that is 100% cut off from everything, so don’t even try getting to it. Dom and the crew immediately come up with a plan to get to it.
Just as they split up to start implementing the plan, Letty walks in. She and Dom share a meaningful look, and she says she's totally in to take part in the mission. Thus is the “Letty finding herself” subplot wrapped up.
Next, they implement the plan. The ensuing sequence is, for my money, the most entertaining 15 minutes in the entire F&F franchise. It’s spectacular, and I’m not going to spoil it for you. Go watch it. All you need to know is that it ends with them recovering Ramsey and escaping (which is not a spoiler, because you already knew they would).
But holy shitballs, it turns out that Ramsey isn’t a gross nerd after all! She's a hot woman! (It’s Nathalie Emmanuel.) Also she doesn’t have God’s Eye on her, because she mailed it to a friend in Abu Dhabi. “We’re going to the Middle East!” says Dom. (He actually says that.)
They arrive in Abu Dhabi (with each member of the crew driving their own car into the city, naturally) and meet up with Ramsey’s friend Safar, to whom Ramsey mailed God’s Eye. For no explainable reason, Safar sold it to a rich prince, who for no explainable reason has installed it in his super car (a $3 million Lykan HyperSport), which for no explainable reason is being kept in his suite on the 50th floor of the Etihad Tower. But no worries, because the prince having a big party the next day, and Safar can get them invited. He does this.
What comes next is probably the most famous sequence in this (or possibly any?) F&F movie. Obviously, I’m not going to spoil it. Let’s just say that they go to the party, Tyrese steals the mic from T-Pain to do some crowd work (yes, it's the actual T-Pain; he's identifiable by the “T-PAIN” sticker on his laptop), Letty fights MMA star Ronda Rousey, and some surprising things happen involving gravity. In the end, they manage to get God’s Eye.
Mr. Nobody is as good as his word, and he let's Dom use God’s Eye to learn that Shaw is…in a factory like 5 miles from where they are? Isn’t that kind of suspicious?
No, it apparently isn’t, because Mr. Nobody and the crew make plans to raid the factory at dawn and apprehend Shaw. Dom pulls a fast one on the crew, though, by sneaking out to start the raid early. He doesn’t want the crew involved because “they’re not killers”. He can’t fool Brian (somehow), who catches on to the ruse and demands to go along. Mr. Nobody is nonplussed by the change in plans, and they all pile into black SUVs with Mr. Nobody’s soldiers and drive to the factory.
The whole thing is a trap, obviously, and they are ambushed by Djimon Hounsou and his men, with whom Shaw has secretly cut a deal. Most of the soldiers die, Mr. Nobody is shot and grievously injured, they barely make it out alive, and they lose God’s Eye in the process. Not bad for 30 minutes of work!
Dom and the crew know there's going to be one final battle, so they go back to LA to give themselves home field advantage. They know the bad guys will use God's Eye to find them, so the crew comes up with an incredibly complicated plan to hack God’s Eye which involves—and this will surprise you—driving cars. True to form, Djimon comes at them in a military helicopter that also has its own military drone. He zooms around in the sky trying to kill the crew, while the crew zoomes around on the streets of LA and executes their plan.
This final action sequence is pretty bananas, and once again I’m going to avoid spoilers. Lots of driving is done, Statham and Dom have a big fight in a parking garage, The Rock busts out of the hospital (literally) to lend a hand, and the good guys eventually succeed, naturally. Sadly, Dom sustains terrible injuries in s very-preventable car wreck. Brian, who fancies himself a medic, tries to give him CPR, but it doesn’t work, and Dom dies.
BUT WAIT! If you thought Dom would go out like that, you’re crazy. Letty shoves Brian away and starts to quietly tell Dom that her amnesia is gone, for reasons that are never explained. She remembers their whole marriage and life and everything, and she doesn’t want him to die, because she remembers she loves him. So, Dom decides not to die, I guess. He just sort of starts talking, and everyone smiles, and it’s all good. The End
————————————————————————
Okay, so the film is basically over, but there is one more scene, and it is unfortunately a rather sad one—for the characters, for the filmmakers, and for the audience.
Before they finished making Furious 7, Paul Walker died in a car crash. We can say what we will about the silliness of these films, but the cast and crew had more or less been working together on them for 15 years (at the time), and, at the risk of sounding like Dom, they had become something of a family. I know that Paul’s death hit them all very hard.
They wanted to honor Paul’s memory by finishing the movie, but they had a huge problem, because they hadn’t finished shooting it. They still had 350 of Paul’s shots to create, both picture and dialogue. They managed to pull it off, which is pretty amazing. They also extended the epilogue to serve as a tribute to Paul. I won’t lie, it gets a tear or two out of me every time.
