the gods all have favorites, and ironically none of them are their own kids (save for hades: he loves his kid. doesn't make him a good parent, but you know?)

In a more Zelda timeline abiding setting; Originally they weren't all at camp halfblood at the same time, but time shenanigans decided they were to be brought together

Imagine Chiron’s surprise when 7 of his dead campers waltz into camp (this happens EVERY SINGLE TIME they enter camp. Dionysus is completely unfazed, knowing the bs time shit the gods are dealing with atm)

By the time they enter camp in Wild’s Hyrule for the second time he kinda understands (Wind and Sky didnt have a Camp Halfblood, for the record, for obvious reasons)

Alternatively, its some form of modern au where they’re just from different parts of Hyrule (skyloft, downfall, ordonia, windfall peninsula, hyrule town (different from castle town), the list goes on) which would make a lot more sense for this kinda au (the world would’ve just had a LOT of calamities within the span of a few years, some of the heroes knowing about camp and others not so much)

(i think Legend, Wars, Time, Wind (post WW) and Four would’ve known about Camp Halfblood while the others were just kinda on their own until after their quests) meaning over half of them didn’t have prophecies and just went to deal with the issue themselves, possibly meaning on their journey they learned of camp

Ok well, all of them but Wars, who grew up at Camp Halfblood

All Zelda’s are children of Athena, save for Skyward Sword Zelda since she's the reincarnation of Hylia (yeah, im keeping the original Zelda goddesses! What of it?)

At some point fairly early on, a Zelda only had a son, who got together with Athena at some point and boom

he was the "first" Link; Zeus was technically the first God, it makes sense (this is such a stupid reason)

The skies are his home, Zeus finding someone on Skyloft and “falling in love” with their love of the sky too results in this bad boy right here

The demise fight? Only a zeus kid could harbor lightning like that

A camp counselor in the modern setting (ik typically once you’re 18, you’re no longer a camper really, but shhhh)

Wind: child of Poseidon 

Don't roll your eyes, i've got a reason!!

the 4 wind gods throw a fit anytime he's sent on a quest (they all love him even if they won't admit it)

A world purely ocean and islands? Poseidon would have a fuckin ball

The Great Sea needed a hero, Wind was brought about more for necessity than out of the want to have a child (this leaves a hard disconnect between wind and the gods, knowing his dad didn’t really have him out of love for his mom but because the world needed to be saved)

The irony of Poseidon being the patron of pegasi and horses and Wind not knowing what a horse is will never not be a funny thought

Has more control over the wind than he does the sea (for now) 

he, like Legend, pointedly ignores that he's a demi-god, especially since he comes after the Hero of Time (kinda hard to live up to that, even outside of a demi-god au)

The ocean and winds are his mood ring: you upset him the wind gods are after you

In a modern setting, the same reason applies kinda; a quest under the sea would be virtually impossible for anyone but a child of Poseidon, and hell knows a cyclopes isnt gonna be sent (gotta love those prophecies)

The wind gods still adore him, but he doesn't have the hero’s spirit and i think that’d kinda translate to not being a demigod, yet still being the one who was destined to go on the quest because there just weren't any demigods to do it

Ah yes, child of the big three goes on so many quests trope. Love to see it

he's Apollo's favorite favorite (Warriors is jealous as hell. Thats his dad! Wdym he likes Legend more????) 

Pointedly ignores the fact he's a demigod (at least, he definitely tries to)

Blessed by (and beefing with) so many gods from his quests

probably one of the few heroes who's spoken to their godly parent (trust me, it was out of obligation rather than free will)

Prefers helping out the more minor, underappreciated, and not as needy or bitchy gods (like Hestia, for example)

curses the Olympians constantly, they've learned to ignore him, hes their best questing kid

Sort of a general camp counselor since Hades doesn't really have kids (its technically his last year but hes been there the longest out of everyone)

Managed to block the oracle over iris message

After his trip to the dark world and lorule, the gods go haywire around him, much to his delight (because it means they leave him alone)

Hyrule: child of Hecate 

adopted by Hermes (much to the dismay of all the Hermes children)

I was on the line between Hecate, Apollo, and Hermes; Hyrule’s affinity for magic and the blood curse resulted in Hecate to win 

Very detached from the gods, the help he receives is never outright but more subtle blessings

The gods like to ignore Downfall after Legend died tbh (outside of modern, obviously)

Well, they still ignore Downfall as a city/country. 

Only learned of camp thanks to Legend, otherwise he wouldn’t have had a clue it existed

Wild: child of Athena 

Also adopted by Hermes 

One of the more chaotic children of Athena

The idea of Athena being his godly parent sourced from his resourcefulness and quick battle (or just general) strategies, along with his pre-calamity self being stoic and more on the critical side

Completely forgot he was a demigod and just let loose, Athena is more than slightly perturbed by him and yet so infatuated

Supervises archery at camp

Warriors: child of Apollo 

exemplifies almost 0 traits of his father other than his looks and his affinity for medicine (shit archer, shit musician, can't write poetry)

blessed by Athena during the war since he was struggling so much, she always has a soft spot for the heros since they fight to protect her daughters so hard (aka pity blessing) 

Actively beefing with Ares 

Aphrodite likes to keep an eye on him, mostly for entertainment (she woulda eaten the whole Cia debacle UP)

Very notorious in camp considering he was a war captain at the ripe age of 17; once learning of the whole Camp Jupiter has apartments and college for half bloods insisted and led a project at CHB to get something similar built (which is where he, Sky and Twilight stay after turning 18)

Twilight: child of Demeter

His love for ranch animals and caring for his farm lead me to this decision

Also the whole wolf thing, that also counts

Appalled by the fact Wind doesn't know what a horse is considering he's literally the son of Poseidon (jealous the kid can talk to Epona and he can't)

After his journey to the twilight, the gods kinda flicker between Greek and Roman around him so they tend to avoid him like Legend

blessed/cursed by Lupa, hence the wolf thing

Teaches foraging lessons at camp

Four: child of Hephaestus

He's the smithy, I couldn’t not say he's a Hephaestus kid

received a lot less help from the gods since he was one of the first 

started advocating that heros receive help from the divine after LU concludes so those after him have a fighting chance (not in the modern setting)

I havent played many of his games, but the kinstones sound like a thing Hephaestus would scatter across the earth as scrap from his creations

Not one of the fire wielders (the only one that can wield fire is Red when split, mostly because of the elemental bs in minish cap)

After drawing the Four Sword, Janus (despite being roman (i like to think the four sword would be a roman artifact, it just feels right)) was suddenly pretty interested and bestowed what wisdom he had for the demi-god

Vulcan, Neptune, Aeolus, and Ceres all came together to forge the elemental stones; the Minish were still the ones to bestow the sword to Hylian people

The gods tend to avoid him too, for the same reason they avoid Twilight and Legend (dark world shenanigans and the Four Sword)

He loves the damn forge at CHB, and was ecstatic seeing the one at Camp Jupiter

He was asked by Chiron if he would be interested in running a forge class for young demigods (be it his siblings or anyone interested) but sadly declined 

Has that air of responsibility to him, being a seasoned quester (and while his 3 doesn't stand to Legend’s 6, its still pretty sizable) hes looked up to by the younger campers

Time: child of Demeter Kronos? 

The Kokiri were so Demeter core dont even tell me they werent

I guess they’d kinda act like nymphs and dryads in a sense??

His abilities use to relate to his mother until the events of his first quest: the Ocarina of Time was designed to slowly corrupt the user, being a creation of Kronos’

However, it wasn’t really designed with a demigod in mind sooo…

Also self explanatory, the titan of time? Duh… huh?? what do you mean he was taken over?? What do you mean he was a child of Demeter?? No he wasnt lol that Neverrr happened

the reason he's the only “child” of a titan is mainly because of the fierce deity mask literally making him god-like, meaning he has a lot more power harbored in him sooo (the second he dawned that mask he discarded his old identity for that of a titan’s child, since it was also cursed object)

Don’t ask how he came to being Kronos’ kin, no one knows, not even he does (I do) (no, it does not imply a Hylian wandered into Tarturus and got out alive to have the baby)

Avoids interacting with the gods at all costs, he's weary of them as they are of him (even if he saved the world twice)

blessed by Minerva for his natural quick witted nature and clever war strategies, if her own daughter can't succeed she might as well make sure ONE does

can tell if a rupee is real or not by glance alone

Sheerow scares the fuck out of the gods, which in turn means Ravio puts them on edge, a thing very few can achieve

the gods never gave him much thought until the events of albw, to which he suddenly gained like four pair of godly eyes on him

can and will plan one of the worlds most successful heists, refuses to participate 

also beefing with Ares (not Mars, Ares)

Based on my personal HC that Ravio’s some sort of artificer (be it replicating magic dungeon items or just flat out creating new ones) i think Vulcan has his eyes on him too

Hilda: child of Minerva 

by far the strangest child Minerva ever birthed

exemplifies the traits of a hero rather than a ruler

a little jealous her mother likes Ravio more than her

gods be damned, she's not going to let them neglect her kingdom anymore 

a force of fucking nature that single handedly forced a meeting with the gods and somehow forced them to agree to start restoring Lorule (she got the idea from Legend, who has done this multiple times for multiple different reasons)

Rating: G Words: 600~ Pairing: none tags: SFW!, fluff, gn!reader, recovering from sickness, comfort. a/n: I'm feeling **so** sick (have a migraine) and decided to write these while waiting for my sleep aids to kick in.

Ghost: He's very caretaking-oriented and less so comforting. Clogged nose? He gets you a nasal spray and tissues. Hungry? Have some soup. Nauseous? Tea and saltines. Migraine? Turns off the lights and tells you to sleep. It sucks if you wanna cuddle and bask in his warmth because he will make you have the bed all for yourself so you can get better. Nonetheless, he's very efficient at taking care of you.

Price: This man is chronically sick. Not a day goes by where he's not nauseous or got a headache. (He joked about it in MW3, but frankly sounds accurate considering his high-stress job). This means that his perspective is a bit skewed. Will probably ask you "Are you sick enough that it's affecting your ability to work/study?" and when you say yes, will make sure to get you to bed and put a few meds, tissues, water bottles within your reach. Probably won't cuddle or coddle you, but will check in on you periodically and tuck you into bed with forehead kisses and words of encouragement.

Soap: (Is probably the reason you're sick in the first place) Will be miserable with you in bed. Everytime you sniffle or complain, he'll be right there with you, holding you close and grumbling "I ken, bonnie lass" in your ear. Will likely be all over you, hesitant to leave your side for longer than to get you things you need. Doesn't mind that you're sweaty/feverish/weak, he's rubbing himself on you like a puppy that's trying to lick you better.

Gaz: The man is a saint. He'll wrap his arms around you and kiss your forehead and rock you a little bit side to side until you fall asleep on top of him. Won't even complain about your bad breath when you have to mouthbreathe because of your clogged nose. Won't complain when you need to be away because you're overheating. Won't complain when you need all the lights off or the room to be cold either.

Alejandro: Remembers all the home remedies his mama used to use when he was little. 7Up for upset tummies, Caldo de Pollo for colds, loads of herbal tea, and Vicks VapoRub for literally any and every ailment. Will also hold you close, probably sit by your side and hold your hand and kiss the back of it while you groggily complain about how bad you feel.

Rodolfo: Also uses home remedies ^ but is a lot more likely to rush off to the pharmacy (even if it's the middle of the night!) to get you actual medication, especially when you're complaining about something specific like a headache or sore muscles. Will bathe you if you have a fever and feel gross and sweaty. Will spoon you from behind and play with your hair until you doze off.

Graves: Will let you groan and huff about how sick you feel. Probably teases you a bit when your voice gets nasally or hoarse, but will proceed to take care of you. Also whenever you get light-headed, he finds it to be hilarious. He parks you on the living room couch with blankets and pillows, tells you to tell him what you need and gets it for you. Also purposely makes you take copious amounts of Nyquil to knock you out.

König: Subscribes to the German (yes, I know he's Austrian) way of thinking that fresh air (and water) fixes everything!. Your head hurts? "Here, drink Wasser". You have a fever? "You need Lüften, I will open the window". You have cramps/nausea? "You need fresh air. Let's go for a walk. It will make you teel better." He means well and, granted, most of it works!! But my God, man, you don't want to go for a 3km hike when you feel like you're going to vomit.

the reason this website works while others fail is because the main dash is in reverse chronological order and only shows posts by people you choose to follow.

algorithms never work. a computer will never know what someone wants to see more than the actual person. it might give you some content that people can turn off their brains and consume for a few hours. but tumblr doesn't have "content". it doesn't have family friendly short form tiktok videos for people to scroll through for hours. it doesn't have arguments about petty internet drama where people tell each other to kill themselves for disagreeing like twitter does. like, sure those things can exist on tumblr but they aren't the main point of tumblr.

tumblr isn't content. it's conversations and art and writing and music and pictures and movies and experiences and people's lives being shared with their close friends. the reason this website works is because of the fact that their is no algorithm.

algorithms do not work for a website like tumblr. I only want to see the posts and reblogs from people I follow. the people I follow share similar interests to me and share and create posts that I know I will enjoy. even if there's a blog that posts one thing I really like, if the rest of their blog is stuff I have no interest in, I won't follow them.

staff says that the current model unfairly rewards popular blogs.

first of all, rewards them with what? clogged notification? that hardly seems like a positive, and I should know.

secondly, so what? no one cares if anyone is popular or not. follower counts aren't public. blogs don't get popular. certain posts get popular.

also thirdly, their solution to the "popular blogs" issue is to introduce an algorithm which will either:

just promote the posts of blogs with lots of followers, therefore making the "problem" they're trying to fix bigger

recommend posts from smaller blogs who do not want the attention and will end up getting "ew why am I seeing this garbage" on their personal vent posts

completely ruin the whole reason people follow tags and tag their posts in the first place and will end up thinking that non-fandom posts that aren't tagged from fandom blogs should be shown to people in that whole fandom (see point 2)

show posts to people who have no interest in them, such as showing posts about photography to people who only use tumblr to talk about video games, or vice versa

will end up promoting posts by fascists and terfs that staff still will not ban

the whole idea of an algorithm is a fucking stupid idea to implement on tumblr, and I hope that all the executives who decided to push for the idea get fired.

@staff @wip @changes @support this as a warning. no one on tumblr wants an algorithm. you can check the notes on your recent post, and it's all unanimous. people will leave this site en mass if you implement it.

you will not gain more users with an algorithm. anyone who would ever use tumblr has already jumped ship from twitter and reddit and tiktok. all those websites are currently failing because of poor executive decisions, and trying to make tumblr like them will be a death sentence. the only reason people join tumblr is because it isn't like every single social media website.

if new users wanted something similar to twitter, they'd join one of the dozens of twitter clones that will be shut down in a few weeks, like threads or bluesky or whatever the fuck they're called. people don't come here because they want twitter. people come here because they want tumblr. and an algorithm will fundamentally change and ruin what tumblr is

you will not gain users from an algorithm. but you will certainly lose them. it is a terrible decision that no one will like.

firstly, i'd like to state that i try to be neutral on a majority of things here.

i think it's obligatory that i say this since i write fanfics and other stuff and a lot of my writing has to be plot and character relevant most of the time.

when it comes to fandom related topics, sometimes i might not get all the details exactly right. whether it's the characters, the plot, or the little nuances, i can and certainly will be off at times. but im trying really hard i promise

it’s all in good fun though—i’m just here to enjoy the fandom with everyone else and am willing to learn and understand the correct facts anytime. just wanted to put it out there :)

also if there comes a time where i also need to be corrected on such topics, can we be respectful pls 👍 i love feedback and/or constructive criticism since i know and accept that it helps me grow as a person. however, i won't accept pure and blatant criticism cause that's just.. rude

I'm sure @staff has kind of a lot on their plate right now but while I'm thinking of it, this would be nice to have:

Add a Fandom community label. Or a dedicated universal tag, or a box you can check during post creation, or just anything that has the ultimate effect of allowing users to filter fan content.

This could at-least-slightly ameliorate problems with the search.

I have come into acceptance of the fact that fixing the notoriously dysfunctional search, even on individual blogs, is just way, way, way out of scope for some reason. Tumblr must know that a functional search would radically increase engagement, so I assume that the persistence of this glaring problem means that there is simply no way to fix it. I tell myself that "search" really just means "give me a handful of related suggestions" and not "show me every instance of X". I am learning to live with this.

What compounds this issue is that there is no way to separate fan content from content directly related to your search terms.

EXAMPLE: I search for a popular movie, and the results are so overburdened with people's personal stories and drawings that it's impossible for me to find anything actually related to the film. I give up quickly and Tumblr loses engagement from both me and the people who post screencaps/gifs/music/production info/etc.

EXAMPLE: I'm searching for something--anything--but my commonplace search term happens to be related to a very specific fandom. Perhaps I have never even heard of this fandom. But after scrolling through yards and yards of fan fiction, I have to give up, and Tumblr loses engagement from me and also whoever is posting about the actual thing I wanted.

OTHER NEGATIVE EFFECTS:

1. I stopped tracking ALL tags because they were constantly serving me fan content. I haven't bothered with tags for years because of this.

2. I blocked tons of innocent users because I couldn't avoid seeing their fan content; in order to stop seeing it, I have to sacrifice our entire ability to interact. I'm not alone there, sometimes I even see a note about this in someone's header ("Sorry you're blocked, it's probably because Tumblr won't stop showing me your fan art").

All of these scenarios happen to me and other users all the time and we have been vocally complaining about this. And I know Tumblr has rebranded itself as the fandom app in recent years, but I would say that even a fandom person still wants to see i.e. actual movie & TV show stuff and not just other people's drawings and stories.

So basically Tumblr has two big, related problems: Search doesn't really work AND is clogged with fan content that drowns out everything else.

BUT what if we could just have ONE problem? What if the search had a toggle that includes or excludes fan content. Then even if the search only gives me limited results, I can improve those results by making sure they are ONLY related directly to the thing I want. This would make the Tumblr search instantly, hugely more useful and I would do way more with it, way more often.

Maybe it could even work both ways, like I can choose to ONLY see fan content for a given search term, fandom folks would probably have a use for that. But the main thing for me is that even if search functionality is unfixably limited, I could refine the limited results and get only the most relevant stuff by excluding one common piece of metadata. Problem not-solved, but significantly reduced!

Hey Haku! I’m actually in a really good mood. Today is birthday and this birthday feels different than the others. My family doesn’t go all out. They do the bare minimum, but I showed up to my doctor’s appointment (I’m on treatment) and this sweet older man. Gave me a birthday card with a gift card in it! That’s not all too, I saw a deer walking by my house. I live in a city, so it was different when I saw the deer. For some reason, that deer felt like something to me. Not sure what it means, felt spiritual really. Anyways! Just wanted to share that with you! ☺️

I'm very glad he gave you a card. The gift card is a nice touch, but, even without it, it's wonderful that he remembered. Since coming here to Darkwick, I've come to realize how much effort it really takes to go to the store, find the card aisle, and try to find one the receiver may like. Even without the work of getting an R&R for a grocery store trip.

I was hoping to make you one from scratch, as a gift. I hope you'll forgive me, but I didn't want to leave you waiting too long after your birthday. We can't have that either. ;)

And, the deer. I'm not as well versed as some of my housemates may be, but I believe I overheard Zenji on and on about symbolic references sometimes. With it being so near your birthday, it could be a good omen. Deer are apparently tied to spiritual power and finding authority. I'm finding a lot of different sources, but, if I had to give you a meaning based purely upon my own intuition, it would be to stop being so hard on yourself. You may find yourself growing into some rich inspiration or some creativity you never saw coming, or perhaps some birthday wisdom. It's not always going to be easy to incorporate that into who you are without some hiccups. Stitching isn't always seamless, I've heard a close friend say. Reach your antlers towards the sky, and enjoy the feeling. Don't give up that spirituality, and that wonder. And, have a fantastic birthday week. I started writing this massive thing in 2022 and haven't posted any of it yet because I think I need to finish it completely first, due to the sensitive nature of the subject material. It's also quite heavy work to write as it's so serious and delves as deeply as I can into the trauma of Rush, Young, Telford, and Destiny all suffering from some form of sexual assault, varied in method, severity, reaction, and aftermath. So I have to be a very specific headspace to be able to work on it, which I haven't since *checks* a year ago!

It's also the first story I started writing with the aim of posting to AO3 (there was the 450k extravaganza I wrote while lockdown was ongoing to keep myself sane - with there being 2 vulnerable people in my house it was quite a bit longer than the official lockdown - but I never intend on posting that because the start requires a full rewrite due to me being off the pace quality-wise after years out. There are also a lot of other people's ideas in there. Basically I wrote it just for myself and have been rereading it recently and picking bits out that I think I can work into the current stuff I'm writing). Tangent over 😂

The starting premise of Your Own Worst Enemy is one I've seen used a few times: foraging on a planet, Young gets dosed, attacks Rush. I wanted to take that in different directions than I'd previously seen written, and focus heavily on the 'sometimes you never recover' angle. So I highly doubt it'll have a happy ending, but there's so much focus in media and fandom on recovery being something everyone always "succeeds" at and I'm just like… It can be messy, one-step-forwards-two-steps-back, angry, destructive, dangerous… Basically I want all four of them to be the most IMperfect victims they could possibly be.

First excerpt is from right at the beginning. I have Telford-being-the-hero disease. (Read: so does he, he desperately wants to be the Big Hero, even if he'd scoff if someone said it out loud.)

There's a flicker of movement from the stairs, the shadow coalescing into a human shape. Rush's heart leaps in his chest. No one on the ship likes him but surely they won't walk away from Young raping him, no matter how much blind loyalty the man somehow inspires. When the man's face finally comes into the light it's Telford, his eyebrows raised high in surprise but a light smirk tugging at the corners of his mouth. Rush heart sinks. The sound of a zipper comes from behind him and Telford's eyes follow the movement, not even sparing Rush a glance. He probably thinks this is what Rush deserves, what he's got coming for all the shit he makes Young put up with. He chokes back bile as Telford turns away to make his way back up the stairs. "Help me!" Now Telford looks at him for the first time, pausing with one foot on the stairs. He looks unsure, his forehead creasing as his eyes dart back and forth between Rush and Young. Please, Rush thinks, for the love of god please. "Hey, Everett," Telford says casually, his foot coming back down off the step. Thank you. Thank you.

Second excerpt is quite a ways in and won't make a bit of sense out of context, but it's one of the bits I'm most proud of. 😊

Something is wrong. He can feel it, a creeping horrifying sensation beneath his skin, as if his veins are being slowly plucked like violin strings. Spaghetti-like tubes slither into him, dragging and clogging and taking up space that should be empty. He feels his heart stutter as if from very far away. "It's important," a voice whispers to him. There is grief wrapped hard around the words, a loneliness that slips into the edges of his consciousness and sinks its claws in deep. It is too hot and he is a child shivering beneath his blankets, terrified. There is nowhere to go, he knows. He is going to die here. "Doctor Rush?" Don't move. Don't make noise. Maybe they'll forget he's here. Maybe it will go differently this time; the black mould on the ceiling and the inlaid bricks and the metal grates and the sand hot in his mouth. He is an adult and yet he is also twelve sitting in a car unable to escape as his mother tells him she wants to kill herself. He thinks a part of him will always be in that car, knowing he has no control, that he will be powerless and weak and dependant forever. He wants freedom. He wants to do something about it. If she wants it so damn badly, his mind whispers, then give it to her. He would be better off. He would be free. "There's so much work to be done. I know you understand." He does understand. No one else does. They can't. They don't have the framework. He's built for this, it is his purpose. "I don't want to be alone, Nicholas." He stares at a chalkboard and doesn't move. The phone rings and he doesn't move. A man appears in his house and he doesn't move. The man sits next to him and says, "You'll feel this way for the rest of your life. But I think that's okay." Rush doesn't agree. He's held stationary and he's cold and he can't breathe. There are too many dangers lurking in the dark, too many possibilities of pain, too few ways to extricate himself. His fists hurt from trying to beat his way out. There's blood on his hands and his brain sparks with pain. They stare at him and he asks for help and they don't react. There are hands on him, poking and prodding and pinching. Terror, in the bruises on his face and his hips and his chest, over his heart and inside deep where no one is meant to see. It would be so easy to do it again. They could leave him behind. They could show him who's actually in charge. There'd be no repercussions for them. No one cares enough to put themselves in the firing line for him. "It's important," she says. She doesn't want to be alone again, drifting in the dark depths of space. He understands. He doesn't want to be alone either. He inhales water and he inhales air and he inhales vacuum.

hi! i saw your post about jimcurly and i'd like to say it's not for everyone, you're perfectly respectable if it makes you feel uncomfortable. it's certainly a very okay take to have! in that case, no one should ever make you feel bad for that. block the tag if it's what makes you feel better!

however, i think it might make you feel better about it to know that a lot of the people who ship it are very aware of the implications. i was concerned too, and it really exhausted me, but actively seeking out answers as to why they'd want to ship something like that really helped and i figured i'd share my perspective with you :)

i've noticed it very rarely comes with a softening of jim's abusive and predatory personality, and it's generally quite self-aware. they very much did play the same game, and it's just one of many ways they decided to look at the themes and interact with it under

i find it pretty unfounded to worry about these people ending up in toxic relationships of their own and being unable to get out of it: i've seen a lot of toxic pairings to actually be coping mechanisms to cope with older toxic relationships, and many of them come with a deep understanding of it. i get it as someone who has been in one!

if i'm being honest, i'm personally more alarmed by anyacurly that isn't self-aware than jimcurly that is, but honestly, i don't ship any of them because it's all kind of yuck to me.

either way, i think it's completely okay to be made uncomfortable by it. it's a heavy pairing, and i have the tag blocked so i don't see it. it's really their business imo i guess and taking that perspective made me feel a lot less upset about it :^)

And also being very real here, this isn't an apology post! I do apologize for not tagging it with a content warning, and being crass with my words, though you're gonna get that even if I'm speaking positively about something. gonna put this under a cut, mentions of strokes and hospital things and just a general cry into the void jdmfm

on Saturday I found my dad having a stroke, like a really really bad one, and honestly the sight I saw will never leave my head I think, I've calmed down a lot since everything transpired and he got taken away to a stroke specialist hospital to get treated, but today is gonna be the first time I go up to the hospital with my mum to see him and im just really nervous about it

I just don't even really know what to say, yknow? I have so much I wanna say but I can't really, the poor bloke is still extremely weak and drowsy from the operation that he had and all the meds and just the fatigue you get when you suffer from shit like that, and I'm also pretty scared that he might not want me or my lil bro to see him in this state, he's one of those guys that cannot show weakness in front of people and absolutely despises bein weak and vulnerable (wonder where I get that from...), and honest to god I think it'd kill me if he got upset with me and my bro

I worry about money cause my dad has a great paying job, whilst the rest of us earn pennies in comparison tbh, because if he gets permanently paralysed then I very very much doubt he'll be able to go back to work, so I'm fuckin praying that when he gets to the physiotherapy and speech therapy side of things that it can help and he can push through like the stubborn ol bastard that I know he is

I just hate that there's nothing really anybody can do, we'll have to wait a good six weeks or so to see what the scale of the damage is on my dad's brain and how much of a hike it'll be for him to get back to a livable state. I just pray to whatever god is out there that he can walk and talk properly again as time goes on, I really miss him not being here swearing his head off and being a grump and it just feels really wrong without his presence bein here

I'm gonna do my best to support my mum and bro though, it's starting to hit my mum a lot now so I'm gonna try and stay strong for her and be optimistic about things. I'll defo be comfort doodlin a lot in the coming weeks I reckon when I regain my energy and can sleep properly, it won't be much but I think that'll help take my mind away from things for a little bit
