I also would uh, have liked to know how Deanna kept Kestra safe? Okay so, she immediately clocked that the Will who came home was not Will. Fair plot point, she would be able to do that.

The only other fact we know, however, is that she also got captured anyway. Also fair, I don't expect the riker-troi household to keep itself ready to withstand an invasion of changelings out to kidnap them.

They Also say that Kestra would be alone if they died.

So... Was Kestra not at home with Deanna? I can't imagine they'd have passed up the opportunity to nab her along with Deanna, and if there was Any chance of that having happened Deanna would have been beside herself. And while I genuinely think the themes of the season would have been better served if Riker was giving up info under torture about the Titan to keep his kid safe, that didn't happen and I have to work with what I've got.

So Kestra??? Wasn't available to kidnap? Why/how not? Did they not think we'd find it weird that the child wasn't with her mother??? Would a throw away line about maybe Kestra being on a like, school trip or learning opportunity have been that hard? I mean, I wouldn't have bought the reasoning, because apparently the whole of Starfleet is compromised to the point Captain Tuvok's been got, but they can't secure one teenager?

But they didn't even try?? Had Kestra been a Bit older maybe I'd have found this easier to believe but, no. And I still think she should have been In it rather than excused away, but they could have at least bothered to explain it.
