People fought and died for the right to vote. No taxation without representation is what the US was founded on. Which turned out to give power to rich, white landowners. So people fought for the right to vote without owning land, which was countered by the law in many places making it so you had to make enough money to pay taxes in order to vote. More people could vote, but still no suffrage for the poor. So then they fought for every (white) male citizen's right to vote, regardless of how much wealth he had. And eventually, that was granted, though not universal until after the American Civil War. And then the fight for women and black people started. And if the impoverished white men thought they had it bad, it was nothing compared to what women and people of color went through to get the vote. The women's suffrage movement took off first, but women died in that fight. Men were not quick to give women a voice at the table, and it lead to a lot of violence. But eventually, women elbowed their way in and demanded a voice, and convinced enough men to vote on their behalf. It's pretty well documented, look up the suffragette movement. Women's right to vote was hard earned. And all along, there was also the fight for people of color to be allowed to vote. There's a LONG timeline on that issue, which to a degree is STILL ONGOING. But we all know it, right? Black people weren't allowed to vote in most places. Native Americans couldn't vote, or later only could vote if they abandoned the communities they were born into. In 1882, they passed the Chinese Exclusion Act. The civil rights movement was carried by black people, because even though by the 1960s they technically had the right to vote in most places, there were still too many barriers in place to disenfranchise black people from voting. So they fought for the Voting Rights Act of 1965. And in 1971, the voting age was reduced from 21 to 18, because 18 was how old you had to be to be drafted by the army, meaning a lot of young men were drafted into the army and sent to Vietnam, even though they weren't deemed mature enough to vote. The ability to vote from age 18 has so many dead young men behind it, as well as a good deal of veterans who still carry the trauma of being sent to kill people in a war started by leaders they weren't old enough to vote against. And it's still ongoing. "Unincorporated territories" like American Samoa have to follow US laws and pay US taxes, but they're not allowed to vote. Their fake elections have an average higher turnout than mainland US does in its actual elections. They want to have a seat at the table, but they're not allowed. And if you look at that history, that STILL ONGOING history, and just shrug and choose not to vote, because the available options don't excite you enough? Then... I don't even know what to tell you. I feel like there should be a service where we match undecided voters with people who should be but aren't allowed to vote. Like, if you can't bring yourself to vote for Biden because he's not helping Palestine or Ukraine enough, could you bring yourself to vote for him and the most election-reform friendly candidates down the list if you could hear it from the mouth of a born American from American Samoa or Puerto Rico, who is still not considered a full citizen? Like. Vote. Please vote. How long has your family been in the US? Were they part of the Revolutionary War? Did they shout "no taxation without representation" as they were killed by the redcoats? Was your ancestral grandmother allowed to vote when she arrived? Do you have any Native blood in you? Do you know from which tribe, and whether the ancestor who left was eligible to vote at the time? What do you think they would ask of you? Like. The right to vote is so fucking important, we're still fighting the fight, and you think you'll somehow do more by not participating in the system? Disclaimer: I can't vote. I'm not a US citizen. I live here, but my legal status doesn't afford me voting rights. This is literally ME begging you to vote if you can, because I can't. All that stuff about your ancestors is real, though. You can look up the history of voting rights in the US and see how hard people fought for them. And the stuff about "Non-incorporated US territories" is real. Please do look that one up too if you're not familiar. My point is, the system doesn't get better by ignoring it. Just learn how to vote out of solidarity with others if you can't muster the energy to do it for yourself. Please.
starring at the news as the eu election results slowly trickle in and ?????? to all the people telling Jews that Jews are safe in Europe (or to go back there) fuck you. Parties that were founded and taught by actual Nazis are winning.
This is not safe for Jews, for queer people, for muslims, for anyone really. This is gross and you all are gross. Also if you didn't go vote because you were disappointed in how the left dealt with things: fuck you this is on you too.

Art Resources 01 [Facial anatomy]
Hi! First post of the Art Resources thing I mentioned a while back :) Figured I'd start with something people generally want to know more about- or something people think they already know about but could still used some lesser known tips!
Resources, break downs and tips under the Keep Reading thing :]
1. The Basics
There are thousands of methods to constructing the face. The most popular one is the little circle with the cross in the middle, and sometimes a few more lines for the jaw. While that can be a useful guideline, if you're just starting to learn the ropes it might be better to use a method that has more structure decomposition and land marks to help guide you. Here I'll leave two methods of deconstructing the face that I believe are the most useful to draw faces in different angles and perspectives as well as identify where exactly should each element be placed.
REMEMBER: All of these methods are just guidelines. In order to get different facial features, you can adjust proportions for each of these and play around with sizes.
1.1 The Loomis Method
A structural approach to drawing the head, based on first: simplifying general forms and second: identifying landmarks for the face elements. Pretty good for beginners, helps you understand the head from a more tridimensional stand point to be able to draw it from different angles.
youtube
1.2 The Reilly Method
Also a structural approach, but this one is based on understanding the rhythms of the face (proportions, harmonies, and even some general muscular anatomy). It can be a bit harder to understand and use as a building block for beginner artists, but it can serve as a way to check your proportions after an initial sketch.
youtube
Here are other two methods, a bit less known, but that go a bit more in depth about the head. If you're a beginner, I'd recommend watching the Loomis method first before diving into these other two methods. Note: these are playlists covering each method, and the videos are longer, but worthwhile.
1.3 The Michael Hampton Method
1.4 The Steve Huston Method
And here's a hybrid of a visual and structural approach too if you're interested! (Again, this one is recommended mostly if you already have a good grasp of the general structure)
Having trouble finding that reference of the head from that specific angle? Here's a 3D model that can be used as reference from any angle. Bonus: It has a built in light feature that allows you to understand which planes of the face the light would hit!
There's also a version with more feminine features.
Here's a website that lets you pick a head angle and then searches for reference images with that angle too. Allows you to pick age, gender, and other features like glasses, facial hair, etc.
2. Understanding What's Below
When drawing the head and face, what most people think of is what we see everyday: the skin. However, there's more to the head and face than just that: there's a whole structure laying underneath that builds up everything on top. Understanding that structure can lead to better execution of skin level facial anatomy.
And what's that structure? Well, bones of course. And muscles. Even if (most of the time) we don't draw them, knowing they exist and how they are placed on top of each other can help with building what we do draw. Understanding the building blocks of the face will make it easier to avoid, say, making one eye bigger than the other. Or a forehead that's too small. Or ears that are too high. Or side profiles that cut off the brain.
Something I recommend for this is making study sheets of the bone structure, muscular structure, and skin structure. For this it's important to name the main bones and muscle groups. Not because you need to commit them to memory, but because if you name them on your practice sheet, it's easier to remember later on that they EXIST (even if you don't remember the name).
Here's a 3D model of the skull
Useful guide for the names of the bones of the skull
Here's a 3D model of the face muscles with names
3. Elements of a Whole
So we now understand the general structure of a face and some useful guidelines to build it. Good! But now, a face has a bunch of individual elements with their own individual structure and stuff to look out for. Those are, of course:
Eyes
Noses
Lips
Ears
3.1 Eyes
It's important to note that the eye has a volume of its own- it's not just a sticker laying on top of the face. It can be helpful to think of the eyeball inside the eye socket when drawing it (taking into account the bone structure we learned before). When understanding the eyeball as a sphere, it becomes easier to place the skin above: the eyelids. This can help with drawing the eye from any angle.
This can also help when drawing the dreaded Other EyeTM, specially if you are still a beginner artist. If you start by constructing the eyes with spheres and approach it from the perspective of "placing" the skin above that sphere, it's easier to get sizes and proportions right.
3.2 Noses
Again, spheres can be your friend.
3.3 Lips
Spheres part 3
A funny thing with lips that often gets over looked when one is just learning the ropes of anatomy is that it also wraps around the volume of the face. Just like the eyes aren't stickers laying on top, the lips aren't either. It's important to take the curvature of the face when placing the lips from different angles and expressions. For example, when we thing of a smile, its usually this idea that comes to mind:
Which yeah, that's fine! ...As long as your subject is facing straight to the camera.
But when we have even a bit of perspective, the way the mouth looks changes, and we often don't think of that and just draw what we think the mouth looks like... which can lead to odd looking mouths, like they're pasted on. So, it's important to keep in mind the volume of the face:
This is true for all features of the face: keeping in mind the volume. But, it can be more noticeable on the mouth.
3.4 Ears
Spheres part- no.
Even if the ear is one of the "flatter" parts of the head, it doesn't mean they don't have volume. Depending on the angle of the face, it'll change how much of the ear is shown- or which parts.
All ears are different and have their quirks, but they all can be divided in three major segments, colour coded in the image. If you deconstruct the ear in these three major parts, keeping in mind they have their own volume, it should be easier to figure out which of those parts will be seen depending on the angle of your face.
4. Expressions!
Now that we understand the elements and construction blocks of the face (bones and muscles), we can play around with them a bit more. So, time to make expressions!
When playing with how the skin moves, it's fundamental to understand the muscle groups of the face and how they move, relax and tense depending on the expression. Knowing that these muscles exist and how they interact with the skin above will help you know where the eyebrow should furrow, where wrinkles would form.
A BOOK I widely recommend is Anatomy of Facial Expression, which you can find here for purchase
Or here as a PDF
This book also covers skull anatomy, so it's a useful tool to study the structure talked about in 02.
There's also an ArtStation account that uploads a bunch of useful 3D model resources for anatomy (facial or otherwise).
Scott McCloud's book, Making Comics, has a section dedicated to facial expressions too (great book in general, not only if you're interested in comics!). You can find it in PAGE 80 (or 88 in the document).
Another thing that can be helpful is studying from life! You can do that by making different expressions in front of a mirror and pay close attention to which muscle groups tense and relax, where wrinkles appear, how your skin moves. Or, if you're like me and hate staring at your face, you can also study from video references.
Here's a link to a PLAYLIST containing various videos of people making different expressions.
The previous playlist contains real people, thus, REALISTIC ANATOMY. It's important to note that even if your drawing style is heavily stylised (like anime, cartoon, etc), it's still fundamental that you understand real world rules so you later know how to bend and break them properly to implement those to your own style.
However, that doesn't mean you can't study STYLISED EXPRESSIONS too! It's actually a great idea to see how other people exaggerate certain anatomical aspects to their own work so you can also understand how to do it in yours. Here's a list with various videos of EXPRESSIONS IN MOTION for animation tests. Study them the same as the previous ones: paying close attention to how the face and muscles MOVE.

Pause the videos you study as needed! While all of this might seem more useful for animation, it's also incredibly useful in illustration, and studying things in movement can help with understanding them better, thus putting them to paper (or tablet) becomes easier.
Finally, here's some videos in a sort of CLASS FORMAT that can help with walking you through drawing expressions more effectively than a text post could lol

Hey I heard you were accepting questions about what being a system is like? I know someone i consider my little brother who i recently found out is a system. I don't know much about this if you couldn't tell lol. Do you know any reading materials, videos, or just personal advice on how to best support/understand him? Id try and find these on my own but I don't want to accidently learn misinformation and have no clue where to start. Thanks in advance and hope you have a fantastic day 👍
hi i'm gonna be real, watching other ppl find out their systemhood has rly shown me the like #1 thing to AVOID is system spaces online because it is maximally confusing, contradictory, and just a huge dramafest regardless of stance, experience level, etc.
personally speaking i'd recc just... exploring it with him? talk to him about it, meet his alters (where comfortable for him at least) and generally just... Try to Listen and Be Involved. it should be said like, his alters have been there the whole time, he hasn't changed in any way other than understanding himself differently now, and thus try not to treat him differently unless he asks that of you.
as for resources tbh it's a complete mess, i personally just read a lot of plural content on here in the various tags when i was starting out but imo tbh with you, i would focus on individual experience more than anything concrete. system stuff is highly complex and not super consistent as each brain handles it differently, so imo go with the flow. 👍
oh yeah personally i would say like. pluralkit and simplyplural can be nice & very helpful if he's so inclined, it makes my life infinitely easier and more fulfilling so yeah. anyways hope this helps and sorry for a messy answer LMFAO
#not edits#asks#send us asks about our system!#plural followers. if you have any non-syscourse beginner resources feel free to link them in the replies. i'll put some there myself#ALSO SORRY THIS TOOK FOREVER i wanted to weigh my answer carefully

idk if you remember, but you responded to my anon a few days ago and i really wanted to respond.... but my energy levels.... anyway, it was the one about potentially liking my friend romantically? and to quote some of your tags for remembering purposes:
(2) brain buzzing though trying to think of what kind of quiz i would make that would allow that kind of understanding
(3) (something about how the quiz Should not be about that topic because of drawing conclusions yourself instead of i.e. being told "you have abandonment issues")
(1) anyway. idk if you meant this original ask in an aromantic way. but i mean everything aromantically so <3
and yeah I wanted to respond because thoughts? though it's a little counterproductive to be on anon for this, I just feel like I've already seemed pathetic and parasocial enough in your notes recently
1: did I mean it in an aromantic way? maybe. I wouldn't know, frankly. same as with my sexuality, it is inseparable from my trauma, and I've stopped trying to see where it starts, and my "true nature" ends it's part of who I am, but it also makes it difficult to know if I would truly enjoy a romantic or sexual partnership without throwing myself into one - which I don't want
while I certainly don't experience attraction the same way many others do, I do enjoy the thought of a partnership that includes stereotypical romantic behavior. I like dates, though I haven't been on many, I like showing someone they hold a special place in my heart, and I enjoy having someone hold that special place, too. I think I want to marry someday, have a child if circumstances allow it, etc.
what am I not having fun with, is knowing if the person I have in mind is one that Should be that, you know? because I very much get attached to others in an unhealthy way, focusing entirely on pleasing them, and giving myself a role to play. when they go "off script" and try to get closer to me themselves, I get scared and back away. or, if things go on too long, I burn myself out and distance myself from them, ashamed of not being able to keep up the standard I set for myself.
it's a superficial performance of affection without allowing anyone into my space
and there has been times things still worked out! one friend I felt this way about (and still do sometimes, admittedly) now has a girlfriend - which of course immediately shut anything down that could have developed in the future. and it was fine! we actually talk and video chat more now, though I couldn't say if that might have happened either way with us simply knowing each other longer
2: truly, I feel like a quiz about performance in general would fit this topic. at least when it comes to my own experiences. holding a monologue on an empty stage. talking towards the audience, speaking to another character but really spreading their emotions far and wide. losing yourself in the crowd, clamoring for a single cause. dissonant duets. 3: is it too on the nose? maybe. but there is so many, very detailed, scenarios in (I was personally thinking of) stage performances and live theater. I think maybe I'm the supporting cast moving things around dressed in all black. blending into the background by my own will. meant to be invisible, putting focus on me works against the role I have put myself into. etc etc. idk
anyway emotions are hard. I don't think I'm in a position where I could hold any deeper relationship, romantic or not, to an extend I'd be happy with. I don't want to be a charity case, but there will also be no perfect time. the fact I tend to be interested in people living far away, too, is... both definitely something I need to unpack, and also simply part of me preferring English over my native language (though you've probably noticed my writing being sub-par, it's something I struggle with deeply).
I was not planning on letting go on for so long, but here I am rambling again. in the end, I won't know if a romantic relationship is what I want (with him or anyone else) unless I try it. but I am not at a point in my life where I feel comfortable experimenting with it. it will remain a mystery for the foreseeable future, and I will have to do my best to leave my performer role and allow others to get closer to me
hello yes i remember!!! i apologize in advance because this is going to be a longass answer so. sorry. read what you want <3
i am unfortunately the worst person to express thoughts about being aromantic to because my answer is always going to be that there is a way for aromanticism to win haha. that said! i am going to try and. not write paragraphs here. but this means that i am going to link to other posts to expand on my thoughts there i think. speedrun.
trauma is a completely valid reason to identify with aromanticism
(i'm not microlabel boy personally but there is a label + community of people who identify their aromanticism as specifically resulting from trauma. / could be useful for seeking out other similar thoughts + perspectives)
labels are only a means of communication and self-categorization and are not necessary unless they are wanted + do not indicate an innate or universal way of being
aspec labels and community are centered around feeling attraction in a lesser/different way than the "typical" experience. if those are useful to you, they are there for you.
a lot of aro people do not like the expectation of romance-relationship-marriage-children that's pushed by amatonormativity. this doesn't preclude aro people in general from wanting those things though! personal preferences are personal preferences. romantic relationships can be nice for people. this is why people often get into them haha
you can have all those things in a nonromantic way if you want <3 queerplatonic relationships are rlly cool and you also just. don't have to call something platonic/nonplatonic. my gf and i are planning on getting married and having kids and our relationship is not romantic to me. i am a really big fan of doing whatever the fuck you want forever <3
acting out what you think is expected of a relationship is like The aspec experience of all time to me. sometimes what being aromantic looks like is performing exactly what you think the response of romance should be. because you can see it but don't feel it.
(again. microlabel specifically about liking the idea of romance but being repulsed by it once it's reciprocated/you get too close to it)
(or being aro but just wanting a romantic relationship)
(aplatonic people bring a really interesting perspective on this kind of feeling around platonic relationships instead of romantic)
absolutely not saying that what you want isn't real. but would also like to put forward from my own experience that sometimes what i wanted from typical romance conventions was not actually what i wanted. amatonormativity is a hell of a drug and personally i had to figure out that the 'partner' i was imagining in my head was just like. someone i wanted to hang out with. that the romantic relationship i might have been imagining was really just what i thought had to happen in order to have the deep soul-rending connection that i want with people. i had to unpack a lot of those kinds of things and it might be something that applies for you too <3
as for quiz concept.... mmmmm.... that's really good actually... rotating that in my head for sure. entirely predictably i have been a theater kid my entire life and i could theater it up. wax poetic on performance. god knows as an aromantic transsexual i have my fair share of experience with performing in a multitude of aspects haha. note to self think about theaters and haunting... was reminiscing about the puck monologue i did for my theater class in senior year of high school earlier today. miss that. i wanna act again...
ur writing is literally fine 👍 minor errors are minor errors but i think you express yourself very well. anyway. i think i have gotten back to you on everything here... one thing about talking to me it is like taking a quiz. and the quiz is "are you aromantic" and the answer i give is always yes haha
#which is to say that i am really passionate about aromanticism and intend this to offer you resources that could be helpful#not to tell you that you are something <3 whether someone is aro or not i think that going through some basic aro theory#is like. important for living in a world so heavily influenced by amatonormativity. and breaking that down for a happier healthier life.#'you can't be someone's entire world it's an unhealthy expectation' is like. true.#but as i saw someone saying a little while back. sometimes people still want that. it is normal and human haha#i am more normal about it now cause i have people that i have close and well-established relationships with#but like. y'know. i get it. i understand.#i continue to talk and there are not really more words to say. hey man i love* u and i'm rooting for you#(*without a belief in the societal concept of love. used to express a strong affection etc. etc.)#ask#god i think i put all the links that i wanted to in there. anyway#if you know all of this already that's wonderful sorry for harping on about it haha

@wolfstrong I have now added "I Want the One I Can't Have" to the list of songs I think Moz wrote about Johnny
I also added "My Love Life" because somehow I missed it, too.
Lastly I made a Youtube playlist of all the songs on the list, because Spotify is missing too many of them for me to bother with making it there (lots of the rarer Moz b-sides and demos aren't on Spotify - as well as some bigger songs like "Pregnant For the Last Time." It's weird).
Here's a link to the original post for those who missed it. It's been updated a lot and has basically become a marrissey master post at this point lol
#god its so difficult to edit it now#it took me like two hours to add 2 songs to it#i want to like#add resource links to my notes and stuff but i'm just too tired to do it aggg#hopefully at some point ill have the energy for it#cause i used passionsjustlikemine a lot and i want to make sure people know how good a website it is#it is so useful for an online resource#the mozzipedia is more thorough but with it being a physical book it's harder to point people to you know#anyways#time for my nerve pain medication and a long nap#After I post two more marrissey songs

Some of you may have heard about Monarch butterflies being added to the Threatened species list in the US and be planning to immediately rush out in spring and buy all the milkweed you can manage to do your part and help the species.
And that's fantastic!! Starting a pollinator garden and/or encouraging people and businesses around you to do the same is an excellent way to help not just Monarchs but many other threatened and at-risk pollinator species!
However.
Please please PLEASE do not obtain Tropical Milkweed for this purpose!
Tropical milkweed (Asclepias curassavica)--also commonly known as bloodflower, Mexican butterflyweed, and scarlet milkweed--will likely be the first species of milkweed you find for sale at most nurseries. It'll be fairly cheap, too, and it grows and propagates so easily you'll just want to grab it! But do not do that!
Tropical milkweed can cause a host of issues that can ultimately harm the butterflies you're trying to help, such as--
Harboring a protozoan parasite called OE (which has been linked to lower migration success, reductions in body mass, lifespan, mating success, and flight ability) for long periods of time
Remaining alive for longer periods, encouraging breeding during migration time/overwintering time as well as keeping monarchs in an area until a hard freeze wherein which they die
Actually becoming toxic to monarch caterpillars when exposed to warmer temperatures associated with climate change
However--do not be discouraged!! There are over 100 species of milkweed native to the United States, and plenty of resources on which are native to your state specifically! From there, you can find the nurseries dedicated to selling native milkweeds, or buy/trade for/collect seeds to grow them yourself!!
The world of native milkweeds is vast and enchanting, and I'm sure you'll soon find a favorite species native to your area that suits your growing space! There's tons of amazing options--whether you choose the beautiful pink vanilla-smelling swamp milkweed, the sophisticated redring milkweed, the elusive purple milkweed, the alluring green antelopehorn milkweed, or the charming heartleaf milkweed, or even something I didn't list!
And there's tons of resources and lots of people willing to help you on your native milkweed journey! Like me! Feel free to shoot me an ask if you have any questions!
Just. PLEASE. Leave the tropical milkweed alone. Stay away.
TLDR: Start a pollinator garden to help the monarchs! Just don't plant tropical milkweed. There's hundreds of other milkweeds to grow instead!

I wanna make a new Youtube bio and things that feel less “this person just calls themselves an ally” because times have changed and language, phrases, and attitudes change too.
I kinda want to do something casual?? Like “hey what’s up I’m Rose, I voice act and just kind of post whatever I want whenever I want. If you’re here for consistency you’ve come to the wrong place! If you’re here for personality then welcome, I hope you’ve found something you enjoy and if not, that’s okay too!”
Anyone got ideas on what I should do or should I just leave it as is? 🧐
#I’ve been kinda sitting on this idea for a while; I want people to know what I stand for but don’t wanna come off as self serving#or whatever the term is yknow?#anyway feel free to give me ideas; I’ve been playing around with this idea for quite some time and just can’t ever decide on what to do#the struggle of being perceived with the times we live in constantly changing; if anyone has any ideas PLEASE tell me lmao#I might also make a new resources links post as my intro video too? the Terezi communist one was cool but I wanna do one that’s more#all encompassing if that makes sense#the Terezi one is staying up and the links will just be copy pasted over along with some new ones yknow? that’s sort of my idea.#might do a character voice or a couple character voices and splice them all into one video as an attention grabber? but I just wanna yknow#show off voices while also help spread the word so to speak; that’s the vibe I want#mine#op#flashing gif#flashing imagery

dear americans,
as a polish queer woman and human rights activist, i know exactly how you're feeling right now and what to expect from these elections. i lived through the 2015-2023 regime of pis, a right-wing populist party that divided families in the same way trump did. i’ve experienced the rise of fascism in poland, the influence of far-right parties like konfederacja, and their “santa’s little helpers”—ordo iuris, an ultra-conservative catholic organization (banned in many countries, mind you) that helped enforce a near-total abortion ban and runs anti-queer campaigns in public spaces. i supported the black protests in 2016 as a middle schooler when they first tried to ban abortion. as an adult, i actively participated in the 2020 women’s strike, running from police tear gas daily after they finally passed the ban. i supported friends who faced charges.
i’ve lived through intense homophobia in poland as a queer teen and adult. i survived the first pride march in my hometown, where far-right extremists threw stones and glass at us. i endured the anti-queer propaganda spread by the ruling party in state-owned media. i survived the “rainbow night,” poland’s own stonewall moment in summer 2020, when police arrested around 50 queer activists following the arrest of margo, a nonbinary activist. i survived the "lgbt-free zones," the targeted violence, the slurs from strangers on the street, and the protests i held against queerphobia. it was hard as fuck, but i survived.
but just because i survived, it doesn’t mean others did. many women died because of the abortion ban—marta, justyna, izabela, dorota, joanna, maria, and many others who didn’t survive pis’s draconian anti-abortion laws. milo, kacper, michał, zuzia (she was 12), wiktor, and other queer and trans kids and young adults took their own lives because of the relentless queerphobia.
despite all of this, our experience in poland can serve as a guide now. here are some tips for staying safe and how we, polish queers and women, organized under the regime:
safety first, always. if you know someone who’s had an abortion, no you don’t. if you know someone is trans, no you don’t. if you know people who help with safe abortions, no you don’t—at least not until you know it’s 100% safe to share. if you are queer or have had an abortion, only share this with people you trust fully. most importantly, not everyone has to be an activist just because they’re part of a minority. if it feels unsafe to share that you're queer, trans, etc., then don’t. it doesn’t make you any less queer.
use secure, encrypted messaging like signal for conversations on potentially risky topics, such as queerness, abortion, organizing counter-actions, protests—anything that might be used against you.
stay anonymous online. if you want to research or report something without surveillance, do not use regular internet. get a vpn (mullvad is affordable and reliable), download the tor browser (for both onion and standard links), and if you plan to whistleblow, consider using a riseup email account.
organize and build networks. community is everything now. support each other, foster independence, because your government won’t have your back. set up collectives, grassroots movements. create lists of trusted professionals—lawyers, doctors, etc.—who can offer support.
to lawyers and doctors: please consider pro-bono work. this is what got us through poland’s hardest times. your work will be needed now more than ever.
for protests or risky actions: always write a pro-bono lawyer’s number on your arm with a permanent marker.
get to know the anarchist black cross federation and other resources on safety culture: "Starting an anarchist black cross group: A guide"; Still We Rise - A resource pack for transgender and non-gender conforming people in prison; Safe OUTside the system by the Audre Lorde Project;
for safe abortion info or involvement: get familiar with womenhelpwomen.
stay radical, stay strong, stay informed: The Anarchist Library
if i forgot to (or didn't) include something, don't hesitate to reblog this post with other resources.
#kinda heartbroken i've gotta post something like this#but now my experience is needed more than ever and i AM going to share it#we are going to get through this#together#activism#anarchism#grassroots#anarchist#resources#useful#helpful#human rights#abortion#abortion rights#reproductive rights#queer#trans#transgender#lgbtq#us politics#usa#us elections#america#donald trump#kamala harris#stay safe#moira speaks

If you haven’t started already, start archiving/downloading everything. Save it to an external hard drive if you’re able. Collecting physical media is also a good idea, if you’re able.
Download your own/your favorite fanfics. Save as much as you can from online sources/digital libraries. Recipes, tutorials, history, LGBTQ media, etc. It has been claimed, though I can’t find the exact source if true, that some materials about the Revolutionary War were deleted from the Library of Congress.
It’s always better to be safe than sorry and save and preserve what you can. Remember that cloud storage also is not always reliable!
Library of Congress - millions of books, films and video, audio recordings, photographs, newspapers, maps, manuscripts.
Internet Archive - millions of free texts, movies, software, music, websites, and more. Has been taken offline multiple times because of cyber attacks last month, it has recently started archiving again.
Anna's Archive - 'largest truly open library in human history.’
Queer Liberation Library - queer literature and resources. Does require applying for a library membership to browse and borrow from their collection.
List of art resources - list of art resources complied on tumblr back in 2019. Not sure if all links are still operational now, but the few I clicked on seemed to work.
Alexis Amber - TikToker who is an archivist who's whole page is about archiving. She has a database extensively recording the events of Hurricane Katrina.
I'll be adding more to this list, if anyone else wants to add anything feel free!

What resources would help you vote? Telling people with PDA they should allow their condition to take away their voice and right to be heard is fucked. People out there want to help people remove obstacles to voting and can help people with PDA excercise their civic rights instead of being silenced by people like you.
'I don't like the fact that you're acknowledging that some people struggle to vote and shouldn't be forced to' is how this ask reads. 'People like you' yeah? I'm sure a PDA autistic telling other PDA autistics that not voting doesn't determine their morality or character is so horrible to you, but that's not silencing. You sound like the kind of person who thinks ambulatory wheelchair users are 'letting their condition get in the way of walking', because how dare disabled people accomodate themselves in a way that's best for them. Clown.
I know how I feel about voting and made that post in case someone else felt the same way. How dare you come in here and be like 'YOU'RE SILENCING DISABLED PEOPLE' to a DISABLED PERSON who just wants to help other disabled people? Have you ever been called 'defiant' because you just don't want to do something and because it's your mom telling you to do it, you get labeled with 'oppositional defiant disorder' and written off as a bad kid because your brain gets hung up on demands? Have you ever had that happen to you? Even saying 'go use the resources' is a demand that, guess what, my brain decides to get hung up on. I saw your other ask about how there are people willing to help, but guess what? Getting in touch with those people is a demand. It's so irritating that you think you can just waltz on in and tell me what to do and how I'm just silencing disabled voices. How dare you.
#'oh just keep trying' motherfucker disabled people don't owe you overexertion#this ask is literally just ableism no matter how well meaning it was#why not give me links to those resources instead of coming off as a massive cunt?#why not reblog the original post with these resources if you care so much about allowing PDA autistics ways to vote?#because trust me I would provide those resources in a heartbeat. if somebody is able to take advantage of those resources#anyone at all#then I'd want to make everyone aware of those resources.#because guess what I'm not some horrible person out to snuff out disabled voices like you think I am#ableism#pda autism#actually autistic#actually disabled
