Before we call anon rude because let’s see it from their perspective, imagine getting an entire feast to eat. That can be pretty hard to start with so much that’s going on, but if they start with one thing they know they’ll like (aka one character they like) that can be the start for them leaping to other characters to finish the story and the bigger story. I struggle the same way to start book series if I don’t have at least one character that drives me to read it, it’s all about what can be the hook to push them through. Sounds like the anon is neurodivergent (just a guess) so they might genuinely not see it as rude and see it as a solution to even play the game to start with.

Btw absolutely adore the game, the complex and rich characters making them all so unique is amazing. The art is so pleasing to the eyes I love it!! I’m waiting for it all to get out at once so I don’t get too impatient. Shae however interests me the most, which routes will have the most lore for them? Will there be routes that give more lore in general based on decisions you make or do they all share the same amount? (I mean general lore not just Shae lore)

Apologies; we are not trying to accuse any asker of being rude! We are simply explaining our perspective as the developers / are trying to broadly encourage folks to dip their toes into other areas of the story outside of the main route(s) they're interested in, especially considering some routes will be made available sooner than others, and these other routes will likely contain additional scenes/lore of everyone's fave(s) regardless! We want to give each main cast member an equal amount of love (and lore) regardless of their overall popularity, so our goal is not to tut-tut anyone for having strong preferences for one character over the others, but rather to explain that you may be surprised by how much *more* you learn about your preferred characters in the other routes. That's all!

For Shae... Well, they were a foot soldier for one of the worst periods of the War. Lore wise, any other story that touches on the War will likely have content relevant to them and their experiences. ^^

rewatching season 4 really made me appreciate kita so much like he has such stability and i guess simplicity is the best word as the rest of the characters of haikyuu are so chaotic and overwhelming. i admire his logical thinking and dedication to routine, cleanliness, etc and i’d really like to implement that into my daily life. kita is realness, underrated character.

Can you do a player reader x Marauder? Some how he breaks the fourth wall, and learns of the player that enjoys fighting as the Doomslayer for his fight, because the Marauder is their favorite character.

I personally like player x game character headcanons, because of the different approaches to it. Sometimes characters are chill, others experience eldritch horror, sometimes they claim the one controlling them/their enemy as God, etc. How will you approach this?

You've fought quite a handful of Marauders throughout your gameplay of Doom Eternal.

They got frustrating at times when other demons are working in tandem to kick your ass, but you liked the challenges they presented.

In fact the Marauder became your favorite enemy, and you'd often replay the boss battle that first introduced him.

That one in particular, however, had a recent "awakening" that went beyond his conversion into a demon.

It went beyond the very game itself.

He realizes his purpose as the introductory boss, repeating the same insults and threats towards the Slayer every time before being slain.

Yet he also finds out that the "false idol" didn't defeat him all on his own.

Oh no.

It was you--the human he could not see, but knew was always present, controlling the Slayer and how fast he switched his weapons, dodged attacks, etc. Everything he did was only possible because your input.

The Marauder remembers every fight. How you struggled when you first encountered him....and how now you defeated him with ease, using cheat codes to make it more interesting.

It was shocking, for sure, although he felt enlightened rather than feel despair over this forbidden knowledge he now carried for some reason.

The Slayer wasn't actually in control..and that gave him quite the ego boost--and a desire to talk to you.

While he despises humans in-universe, he acknowledges and respects your "godlike powers".

When Marauder spoke to you directly by mentioning your username, you thought the game got an update and thought this fourth-wall break was some weird gimmick.

But as you slowly realize that's not the case....it did creep you out, at first, although you were happy bc this was your favorite character, after all!

If you have a headset and mic, you can talk back to him and be the voice that Slayer seldom used.

Apparently he also learned from previous encounters and tries new strategies with his attacks, finding delight in battling you.

You enjoy it too despite him lamenting that he can't take your soul since you're in a world far beyond his reach.

"Oh come on, did you have to bring that stupid wolf out again?! I misfired!"

"There's no one to blame but yourself, human...what if I called forth a second hound?" His voice always give you chills, even now, though that's the best part of him.

Dying still disappoints him, but now he knows he'll just respawn again anyways.

So now he looks forward to seeing the Slayer every time he enters his boss fight room, knowing it's you who's behind the controls.

No but Kristen going “Where’s your god?” Only to have her parents vaguely attempt to guilt her with the “Well he doesn’t have a chosen” BS. There’s something about that that’s so sinister to me. She was a part of the solution, but not in the way they wanted her to be.

The disregard for her, the lack of care for her as a person, only as an asset. Only as a tool and now Bucky’s bearing that too.

Lots to unpack with that and like the fact that it didn’t work on Kristen really resonates with me. I didn’t grow up in a religious environment, but I do have people in my life attempting to guilt me for xyz reason. Seeing Kristen stick up for herself and embrace Bucky was really powerful for me and I keep replaying it in my head.

end of march is crazy for writing like i have a 1.5k essay im doing today and tomorrow, a 2k word essay im doing wednesday and a 1k word research proposal im doing friday. and in the remaining week of the month i am WILLINGLY going to finish taob (~10k OPTIMISTICALLY) and make a solid start on tams (~5k-10k depending on how well writing goes). like yes girl write around 20k words worth of MULTIPLE PROJECTS in a handful of days there is no way this can end badly at all

i'm a fan of letting my players do basically whatever they want in regards to character creation/ideas, so naturally i opened up a bunch of unplayable races to them in case they want to play those races. this also helps me with building major npcs, especially if those npcs may become additional party members/allies and therefore playable by my players.

anyway, my problem now is trying to figure out how a martial class neogi would work, because like...

no hands. this guy is only effective in combat because their enemies fall down from laughing so hard

i rly do dislike the modern debate of ‘who is the goat’ in just about every facet of the game … idk it’s a team sport. to me there is no need to debate who the goat is and there is no need to reach a consensus. each player’s talents and weaknesses are strengthened or exacerbated based on the team around them and the tactics that are employed.
