Do you know a good source for 50s or 60s hairstyles refs for women I keep typing black women 1950s hairstyles into Google and I get absolutely nothing and it's killing me
I have a few!
Ebony magazine has an archive, though unfortunately it only covers the very very late 50s and 60s. Still, an excellent resource. This is from Feb 1960.
The Internet Archive is also a fantastic resource for magazines. If you need specific places to start, you can loan these, though you do need an account (but if you're referencing vintage hair and fashion I suspect you already have one ;3c)
Youtube is a pretty good reference for hair, with the caveat that sometimes i come across a hair or makeup video that isn't necessarily totally accurate and more along the lines of a 2020s interpretation of 50s/60s fashion. How much that matters is more of a taste thing, but it never hurts to be aware. I did find this, so i hope that helps you out a little.

#text post#i clicked into her channel and it's a great resource#there are period dramas set in that time too but the same problem can crop up of it not necessarily being suuuuuuper accurate#a good tip when looking for vintage stuff is by nature it's not going to be tagged with the same keywords something made today would be#by merit of things being in print/movies/stills etc etc#if you find yourself struggling for a specific resource try and zoom out a little#hope these help

Top 5 Korean movies, please. I've actually been wanting to ask this for a while)
This is a really good question.
Korean films are not consistently released in foreign markets. There’s a big discrepancy between what’s available internationally, and the films that stuck with me as a person. Because ‘top Korean films’ compete from a limited list of international releases, the same names keep coming up: Parasite, Memories of Murder, Oldboy, The Handmaiden, A Tale of Two Sisters, etc.
Of course... they are the cream of the crop, which is why they get international releases in the first place. You won’t regret ticking off the films in lists like that. These are the five I’d recommend to someone who was totally new to Korean cinema, because they’re masterpieces that define the genre. But for the more seasoned viewer (or one more familiar with the depths of Korean culture), I have a more personal list. I’d like to share that today. I’ll add posters and a summary for each entry, because some of these may be obscure.
Here goes.
-----
The King and the Clown / 왕의 남자 (2005)
The most famous one on this list. It’s not the most accurate period drama film, and its contribution to Korean LGBT+ media seems relatively small compared to now, but it was groundbreaking for the time. This film is about jesters who end up in the court of Yeonsan-gun (the most infamous tyrant of Joseon) and the complicated emotions that rise between men. Love, pity, and just as much hatred. Yeonsan-gun was forcibly overthrown and his subjects condemned, banished, or executed. That alone sets the tone of this film, really.
-----
Our Twisted Hero / 우리들의 일그러진 영웅 (1992)
I remember watching this at school. (Also the poster is an example of how common hanja used to be in Korean!) This is based off the short story of the same name from Lee Mun-Yeol; it’s about a top-dog school bully and the curious hierarchy he imposes upon his class, and a protagonist who attempts to challenge the system. Its social satire is relevant even today. Decades after I watched this I’m still thinking about it.
-----
Last Child / 살아남은 아이 (2018)
An absolutely fucking infuriating film. I recommend not watching this if you don’t want to be frustrated and angry - but if you’re in the mood to be, and if you're in the mood for brutal psychological thrillers, this is very good. A couple tries to pick up the pieces after losing their child to an accident, becoming close to the friend whom their child saved in the process. Not a complex tale, but it soaks into you like a rain cloud and will linger.
-----
Mis-President / 미스 프레지던트 (2017)
Crazy stuff happened in Korea in 2017. To this day, nobody outside of Korea seems to know what to make of it other than: the president of South Korea was corrupt, foolish, and nearly sold the country to a shaman, and so they impeached her. What often goes unsaid is that this is not just a Park Geun-Hye problem, but one rooted in her father’s time - one must understand Park Chung-Hee and what he did for-and-against Korea before we can understand his daughter. This is a generational rift that runs very, very deep, and it’s hard to find media that tries to approach the issue evenly.
This documentary is one of them. You follow three ordinary citizens who loved Park Chung-Hee, because he saved them when they had nothing, and how they despair at his daughter’s downfall. Their sadness is very quiet, because they’re trying to come to terms with being told their lives were a waste. Those people are not fanatics of military dictatorship - said fanatics are shown separately in the film, and they’re the most hideous people - rather ordinary citizens from a difficult time. Mis-President is not interested in good or evil, but the fall of an era. It is warm to individuals and infinitely cold to events. It’s no masterpiece, but it’s a necessary watch if you want a deeper look at what happened in 2017.
-----
Peppermint Candy / 박하사탕 (2000)
Another film from my formative years, never mind I had no business watching this at that age. This film used to be a meme in early 2000s, but really, it was way too good to be just that. It’s about a man whose life was changed irrevocably in the 1980s and spends two decades losing everything. It takes you neatly through every annus horribilis in Korean history since 1979 and you’d think it’s super depressing, and I guess it is, except the direction the narrative flows subverts that. This had a digital remaster in 2018, and might well be available with subs. I recommend it.
That’s about it. Happy watching! :D

So there was an article on Kotaku about Bioware and Anthem...
Several of you have asked me for my opinion on it. I’ve seen a lot of the general responses to the article. The whole situation at Bioware is really close to me - I have friends there who worked on Anthem and I know a good amount of the inner happenings at Bioware during that time.
I’d rather not get into those details for personal reasons. It is frustrating to see what happened, but not surprising.
Here’s what I’ll say about it:
1. Some of what Schreier said in his article seemed (to me, at least) like he was trying to play up the drama of the story more than anything else. From those people I know in the trenches, it wasn’t as soul-crushing as his article made it out to be.
2. In my experience, the Frostbite complaints are somewhat overblown. The engine (like most engines) does some things very well and some things very badly. What hurt the team was losing their experts to FIFA. Had they used a different engine, things may have been a little different but the core problem was not the engine.
3. Studio collaborations are hard. Coordinating teams across time zones and thousands of miles is hard. Working with team members who aren’t local is hard. Each studio had a lot of accumulated expertise in things, but (in my opinion) having Edmonton (strong points: single player experience, narrative experience) run point on an online multiplayer live service shooter was probably not the best choice considering that Austin had collective centuries of work experience running a successful narrative-driven online live service RPG.
4. One of the smartest things they did was make Ben Irving lead producer on Anthem. Irving worked his way up the SWTOR producer ladder and has been in the senior leadership circle running SWTOR for years. He knows a thing or three about running a live service. Unfortunately, they didn’t do this until April of 2017, which gels with the timeline put forth in the article.
5. Most of what happened is not because of EA the publisher, but because of choices made by the internal Bioware leadership. There were internal events that transpired during Anthem’s development period that nobody really foresaw. These events set certain things into motion that put the team behind the 8-ball. One can point at certain specific EA-related issues (frostbite, fifa, etc.) but those sort of things will crop up occasionally during a development cycle and can be worked around. Anthem, conceptually, had a shaky foundation to start with and that’s what really hurt them in the long run. It also has all echoes of Mass Effect Andromeda’s issues as well, because it was the same core issues that hurt the development process of both games.
6. Bioware has to turn Anthem around. They have been able to do this in the past - SWTOR is a huge turnaround success story, and I believe that Anthem has some really good core gameplay. It can be a success. They definitely have the people and experience to do it. The million dollar question is whether they can pull it off before the plug is pulled. I wish them luck in doing so.

July Forecast for Pisces
The excitement is building to a fever pitch, Pisces! The first three weeks of July are loaded with passion, playfulness and adventure—along with a few unexpected plot twists to heighten the dramatic tension. For starters, the Sun is in fellow water sign Cancer until July 22, igniting your lusty and creative fifth house. You’re feeling bold and frisky, in the mood to dress up, hit the town and stir up some good-natured trouble. A summer fling could spark up for single Pisces, and even spoken-for Fish will enjoy some extra attention as the smoldering Sun gives you head-turner status.
Changes in your love life could be afoot mid-month because on July 12, a partial solar (new moon) eclipse will land in Cancer, sparking a confident new chapter in your fifth house of lust, passion and self-expression. Eclipses sweep in four to six times a year and turn “normal” upside-down, removing anything that’s past its expiration date and flinging open the doors for a fresh start. July will bring two of this summer’s three scene-shifting eclipses, so fasten your seat belt!
With this eclipse setting off fireworks, single Pisces could feel sudden and unexpected chemistry with someone, and there’s a good chance they’ll be wildly different from your usual type. The fifth house also rules fertility, and this eclipse could herald a surprise pregnancy or news of one in your circle. Artists and creatives could have a spotlight moment, attracting fame or booking a gig that will put your name on the map. If there was ever a day to say “yes” to a blind date or to show your work in public, this is it. Take a bold and proactive step at this eclipse. With the glamorous fifth house illuminated, you could make a radical change to your wardrobe, hair color or look.
This is the inaugural eclipse in a series that will fall on the Cancer/Capricorn axis between now and July 2020, initiating a wave of changes around love, friendship, collaborations and creativity. You’ll learn important lessons regarding drama versus detachment: when to jump into the fray and when to stay out of it. There will be moments when it’s your turn to be the unapologetic solo star and others when teamwork will make the dream work.
This is the only eclipse from this group in 2018, and it’s a sneak preview of changes that will really take flight in 2019. Still, it will be an intense start! At this Cancer eclipse, YOU get to be the lead singer—but watch out for jealous bandmates, Pisces. This same day brings the annual opposition between the ego-driven Sun and calculating Pluto in your group-activity zone. A friend could be astonishingly unsupportive of your exciting news or big plans. Don’t let this take the wind out of your sails, Pisces. You don’t need anyone like that in your life. In fact, this eclipse could be your first clue of the shifts coming to Team Pisces.
Keep the energy upbeat and positive and surround yourself with people who support your ascent. The stars certainly do: On July 10, expansive Jupiter will end a four-month retrograde in Scorpio and your ninth house of adventure, growth and new horizons. Jupiter only comes to this abundant part of your chart every 12 years; it’s here from October 10, 2017, until November 8, 2018. Jupiter’s direct moves will speed up matters involving travel, study, entrepreneurship or any big leap of faith. Let the visionary ideas have some breathing room: In November, Jupiter will start a year-long visit to your tenth house of career and ambition, marking a period of extreme professional growth and luck. Don’t box yourself into anything before you’re ready. Let yourself explore and experiment—those adventures could lead you to your highest calling soon enough.
The frantic pace starts to level off a bit on July 22, when the Sun moves into Leo and your sixth house of health, fitness and organization. After a decadent Cancer season, you’re ready for a little bit of a cleanup job. But don’t rush to sign that two-year gym contract or join the sunrise hot yoga challenge just yet. Mercury—the planet of communication, technology and interpersonal affairs—will be retrograde in Leo from July 26 to August 19, which could disrupt your attempts at maintaining order. Back up electronic data and cut down on multitasking because this signal-scrambling retrograde can wreak havoc on your workflow. Watch your stress levels and boost your immune system, as you could be prone to catching a summer cold or virus during this powered-down time. Wash your hands often and avoid any coughers or sneezers!
Is it time to let something go, Pisces? On June 27, a total lunar (full moon) eclipse sweeps into Aquarius and your twelfth house of closure, healing and surrender. Resistance is futile because full moons AND the twelfth house signify transitions. Powered by a super-charged eclipse, anything that’s past its expiration date will be “eclipsed” away. There’s no use clinging to an outmoded situation or relationship or trying to avoid feeling certain emotions. Allow them to pass through you, and you could heal for once and for all.
Passionate Mars will be traveling near this eclipse, which can trigger a deluge of tears or a fantasy-fueled romantic encounter that takes your breath away. With Mars retrograde, an ex could return and sweep you off your feet. Or bottled-up anger and resentment could all come tumbling out (yikes!). With the twelfth house’s emphasis on wellness, you could have an emotional or spiritual breakthrough. Some Pisces might confront an addictive pattern or make a brave decision to finally address a self-sabotaging habit.
This is the final Aquarius eclipse in a series that’s been touching down on the Leo/Aquarius axis since February 2017, impacting your sixth house of health and organization and your twelfth house of healing and closure. If you’ve grappled with any medical or psychological issues, this eclipse can help you get closer to the root cause. Eliminating stress, improving your diet and exploring gut health could all be critical to bringing vitality back. You’ve also been learning to equalize giving and receiving—and how to cut back those codependent ties that Pisces can slip into so easily.
Over the past two years, you’ve recalibrated the balance between logic and intuition, thinking and feeling, traditional versus holistic health practices. Look back to the prior two Aquarius eclipses on August 7, 2017, and February 15, 2018, for clues of what might fully come together now. There will be one last Leo eclipse on January 21, 2019. Between now and then, work to identify any emotional blocks or mind-body-soul connections that could be manifesting as physical symptoms. And whenever possible, get out of your own way, Pisces. Rather than be your own worst enemy, become your own best advocate!
Love & Romance
With action planet Mars retrograde in Aquarius and your introspective twelfth house all month, it’s a perfect time to do any necessary forgiveness work or bring closure to an open wound or unresolved grudge. If you never fully grieved a disappointing loss, it may bubble up now. Since retrogrades can bring back the past, a former flame could resurface, either someone with whom you still have karmic stuff to work out or a “come here now go away” type that never fails to stress you out and confuse you. Watch for obsessing and denial—don’t brush aside red flags that crop up again. Old trust issues, or some hurt around a betrayal you pushed aside, could flare up now. Your resentment could surge up in a passive-aggressive way. Make an effort to be direct with your communication.
Helping you home in on the trouble spots is the other love planet, Venus, which is touring Leo and your fastidious sixth house until July 9. While this can bring out your flaw-finding side, you’re also able to diplomatically problem-solve with a willing partner. But make sure you’re not the one doing all the heavy lifting. Watch the tendency to offer (well-meaning) help to someone only to get WAY too enmeshed in what’s truly not your problem. Be kind to yourself, as Venus here can summon a self-critical streak and body-image issues as summer kicks in. Ramp up the self-care, indulge in gentle movement, healing treatments and healthy food.
Relationships balance out after July 9, when Venus enters Virgo and your partnership zone, restoring the love and helping you get back in sync after a few weeks that may have sent you to the edge. Single Fish should redouble efforts to meet quality people by getting more involved in your own hobbies and special interests. Meeting someone that way practically ensures you’ll something meaningful in common to build on.
Throughout the month, Venus will form flowing trines to innovative Uranus (July 11), structured Saturn (July 14) and transformational Pluto (July 27), all in the interpersonal houses of your chart. These dates could herald deep and transformational conversations or powerful chemistry. Friends and social circles could turn up promising long-term prospects. You could meet someone online or through an introduction. Don’t overlook your inner circle: A casual connection could start to seem like a whole lot more.
Key Dates
July 11: Venus-Uranus Trine Let other people’s opinions and attitudes roll off your back. You could care less what they think! When feistily independent Uranus waves its liberating wand over vixen Venus, you’re only interested in one thing: doing love YOUR way. Single Fish could reel in someone special online or through mutual friends.
Money & Career
Pace yourself, Pisces. Energy planet Mars is retrograde in Aquarius and your sleepy twelfth house all month, which could find you on the verge of burnout. You may be putting in long hours to finish up a project but pay attention to how hard you’re pushing yourself. The twelfth house rules deception and hidden agendas. Are you sensing an office rivalry or starting to see someone’s true (and unflattering) colors? Be careful how much you reveal and whom you trust. While it’s tempting to spill your guts over lunch to a coworker, keep personal information under wraps for now.
The July 27 Aquarius lunar eclipse could bring a transition or possibly the end of one career chapter that propels you onto a new path that’s more creatively and spiritually fulfilling. You’ll also see who truly has your back, and you might cut ties with a person who doesn’t.
Busy yourself with admin tasks, decluttering and handling unfinished projects, especially when the Sun moves into Leo and your efficient and systematic sixth house. But take note that Mercury, ruler of technology and communication, will be retrograde from July 26 to August 19 here. You could have mishaps with employees and service providers since the sixth house rules helpful people. This is an important time to get everyone on Team Pisces clear and aligned. Perhaps there’s additional training that you or your support crew need. Look into short classes or certifications or identify any “weak spots” that need to be strengthened. Retrogrades turn our attention to the past. Clean out your inbox, reconnect with old colleagues, edit and revise your plans. The eco-friendly vibes of the sixth house make this a great time to “green” your workspace and home (some great ideas here) and create an all-around more sustainable lifestyle.
Key Dates
July 5: Mercury-Mars Opposition Stay mindful of what you share in public today. Your thinking may be colored by your emotions, and hence muddled, and you could make a knee-jerk reaction when a calculated judgment is called for. Hold off on big decisions: You’re likely to regret them.
Love Days: 12, 16 Money Days: 23, 6 Luck Days: 19, 30 Off Days: 14, 18

Quintet (1979)
Three leading men from the great American and European films, one of Ingmar Bergman’s leading ladies, a former French child actress in one of France’s greatest war films and a British character actor known for his role in a famed Masterpiece Theater series. Throw in the king of ensemble directors Robert Altman and you would think that you’d have a surefire hit in “Quintet”. Little would one know that a poorly crafted story, cheesy dialogue and a made up, nonsensical board game would act as the monkey wrench to destroy what could have been one of Robert Altman’s boldest works.
In an unnamed society, during an ice age, civilization is on the decline. The population is dying out and the only solace for its survivors is an alcoholic drink called Booza and an obsessive game called Quintet. For Essex (Paul Newman), it’s an opportunity after he witnesses his friend Redstone’s demise. A paper containing names and a location is found on Redstone’s person which leads Essex to the Hotel Electra and an ongoing game of Quintet. Assuming Redstone’s identity, Essex sees that the game is a survival of the fittest competition and every moment can mean the difference between life and death.
While watching “Quintet”, I found myself asking this question, is this the same Robert Altman who only 4 years earlier made one of the keystones of ensemble cinema with “Nashville”? While “Nashville” and the equally masterful “Short Cuts” were longer films, but made use of filler time with relevant plot moments, “Quintet” wastes valuable time on long shots, contrived speeches and extended moments of silence. It takes 45 minutes to get to the main plot, which is the human game of “Quintet” and by then, you have no idea what the game is about and why people are dying. Not to mention mediocre cinematography and editing, a set that could be used in a cheap dinner theater production and an atrocious minimalist film score to dull things even more. This from a director usually known for keeping its audience occupied with a cornucopia of action and mesmerizing aesthetics.
If Robert Altman had assembled the same cast members for a period piece, or contemporary drama, the product could have rather different and much improved. What “Quintet” offers is the cream of the crop of actors giving horrible performances. Paul Newman, who exuded the beaten up, but persevering hero of 1950s and 60s American cinema is reduced to a humdrum and uninteresting shell of a man. It’s as if a body snatcher took his rugged manhood and replaced it with a carbon copy that lacked virility. For the participants in the game; Bibi Andersson, Fernando Rey, Vittorio Gassman, David Langton and Nina Van Pallandt, it’s much more of the same. Characters who are supposed to be at each other’s throats are speaking like its a cheap knockoff of a Beckettian theater of the absurd piece. A survival of the fittest story like “Quintet” should not be using words as action, but bodily engagement. The only performance that had any adequacy was Brigitte Fossey as Essex’s companion Vivia. She was neither great nor terrible and really did not contribute anything significant to the film.
Altman’s problem with “Quintet” is that he’s trying to be too bohemian and European in his cinematic approach. His films were the embodiment of American life and for him to depart from that trademark into uncharted territory resulted in this schlock. It would also lead Altman into a nearly 12 year period where his films weren’t well received by critics, a dry spell that would end in 1992 with his comeback film “The Player”. Altman would depart from the American motif with “Gosford Park”, only that film embodied his ensemble trademark and among one of his finest masterpieces. Altman was trying to do his own “Seventh Seal” and channel his inner Ingmar Bergman, even including Bibi Andersson in the ensemble, but it fell way short.
If “Quintet” came out the following year, it would have had a great chance of competing at the very first Razzie Awards and if so, I would bet that the film would be “well received” by the committee. The film could’ve “won” worst film , Newman “win” worst actor, Fernando Rey “win” worst supporting actor, Altman and his three other collaborators “win” worst screenplay. I beg the people at Mystery Science Theater 3000 to include “Quintet” in a future episode because it has the formula for its prototype; a screenplay and story that goes nowhere, actors that don’t engage and moments that are not meant for laughing.
1/10

A Beautiful Mind Doesn’t Get You Dates: When a Writer Sees Himself in His Writing
Editor’s Note: This blog contains some spoilers from the Darkened series (Darkened Soul, Darkchilde, Book 3, and other books)
My eyes were widened in shock.
The setting? Facebook. I was in a chat with a former co-worker. Usually one of us was drunk when the other one messaged. And as another friend had told me once…alcohol was like a truth serum.
So, I don’t know what surprised me more. The fact he just revealed that he read my books…something he had never mentioned in all the time I knew him. Or the fact that he said I had a beautiful mind.
On one hand it was a moment that made me go ‘awwww.’ On the other hand, it brought up a really good point. If I had a beautiful mind, then that meant that I was a nice guy. That meant that I probably had a good sense of humor. That I could hold a conversation.
It was also the equivalent of ‘wow! You are really nice. How are you single?’
A Writer Deals
Sometimes writing could be thankless. Whether you were a successful writer, a part-timer, or a person just starting out, there would always be a long period of time when you were by yourself. Alone. Writing.
Sometimes it could be a cool thing. Like for example, right now there was a scene in Book 3 that had been elusive to me. Why? It had to do with my main character.
At the end of Darkchilde, it was revealed that Daniel, the main Nosferatu from Darkened Soul, had been resurrected by a witch’s spell. He had been the practice run for the person who the witches had wanted to resurrect: Daniel’s nemesis Ursula. While Daniel’s sister Ebony and others were focused on stopping her return and failing, Daniel had been stolen away by ancient enemies the Forryn.
And had fallen for Eli, one of the leaders of the Forryn.
After some ‘will they, won’t they,’ Daniel managed to escape from the Forryn’s base. In the second section of the novel, Daniel encountered someone who remembered him: the Nosferatu Michael. They grew closer because Michael allowed Daniel to know truths that Eli never told him. But in the chaos at a human summit, Daniel was snatched up again. Eli finally found Daniel in the third section.
This scene could not end well for them. It had to touch on their attraction for each other. At the same time, the scene had to emphasize their differences. Daniel was a Nosferatu, male, and an amnesiac who wanted answers. Eli was a Forryn, only could mate with women, and had not given Daniel a lot of answers. Of course, now he wanted to, but it was too late. There was of course the Michael element, leading to the typical jealousy. And then there was the prophecy that Daniel had a role to play in…how would that affect them?
And this all had to come out like a normal argument.
For scenes that I felt that I was going to need to dive deep into to give it a rhythm, I usually needed to find a lot of time to just sit and write. Anyone who knew me or had been reading my blogs knew the odds of that.
However…I had. Slowly, but surely…time became available. And as it became available, I started to work on it. And boy was Daniel and Eli not making it easy. LOL!!! So, I took a break from it for a few days. As I was working on it one day, I asked myself…’Torre, what was the big difference between them?’ If you found it, the scene would truly click. So I thought about it as I went about my day. And I thought about it.
Then…it clicked.
By this point of the novel, Eli came alone to find Daniel. Forryn travelled in packs. So, Eli was giving up all that he knew to be with Daniel. Meanwhile, Daniel had finally gotten the answers he had been wanting from Michael. So how could he trust Eli now when he had never given him what he had wanted? How could I relate that?
Then…it clicked for me why I had such a problem with this scene. At the same time, I realized why I now had a triangle in my book when originally I had not planned a triangle for Book 3. I had been here before.
With the former coworker who said I had a beautiful mind.
Damn.
Mirror Lives
This had happened before.
I was writing Darkchilde. It was the second section. The Nosferatu Ebony and Nicholas had just arrived in the airport in futuristic London. Part of the plot had been that Ebony continued to be under attack by witches. Before she could figure it out however, a power vacuum had occurred in London so that was why they were there. But even at the airport, Ebony was attacked.
And then….enter Victor.
He literally swung and rescued Ebony from her latest attack. I was writing it, but I was in shock. Who was this long raven-haired Latino Nosferatu that I had no idea would appear, fully formed with thick accent and swagger to boot?
Nicholas was none too pleased.
So was part of me.
I suspected that maybe he was some character that was in my subconscious who was loosely based on someone I knew. Someone who I had unresolved thoughts with. And in order to make the drama between Ebony and Nicholas more realistic, I added a spoiler. After all, the biggest issue between Ebony and Nicholas in the novel was the truth issues they had due to their past when they were humans. Now add someone from Ebony’s past…a Nosferatu to boot…who knew her VERY well? Uh oh.
Later on, Ebony and Nicholas met in person the ancient Nosferatu Antonio. Truly insane, Antonio was acting regent until the community could decide on a new Nosferatu leader: vain recurring character Titania, upstart Alexander…or Victor. On top of being insane, Antonio also had the ability of foresight, seeing future paths and sensing things. So, he tried to read all the characters to see if there was a traitor in their midst.
‘In time. Those boundaries are there for a reason. They will fall for the same. Simply…in time.’
It was something so simple. It was during Antonio’s scanning of Ebony and Nicholas. It was the wording. It triggered something in me. First of all, Victor was not who I was thinking he was in my subconscious. Worse he was someone else I knew. Who I thought Victor was loosely about…was actually Nicholas.
Two relationships that were going on. Two relationships that had gotten mirrored in my characters. I had not even realized that I had a bit of a triangle in my personal life at the time.
I jumped right out of writing the scene.
Well…damn.
He’s Drawn to the Dark Things…
Was this ability to spin things currently going on in my life a sign that I could spin a good tale? Or a bad omen?
In my own life, Mr. Beautiful Mind had me on block on social media, a case of both of us being uncomfortable with our feelings as well as too little, too late. That was a similar theme that plagued the other two guys who inspired Victor and Nicholas in Darkchilde. I fell out dramatically with one while the other one was again the combo of uncomfortable feelings and bad timing. Moreso because by the time he wanted to have a talk about our feelings, I was dating someone else. So…he simply left.
Funny that when real life was not going my way or some situation cropped up, that it would creep into my writing. It was like it got to play out with many possibilities. A game.
Or perhaps it was as simple as the fact that I was drawn to the dark things. As a kid, I loved fantasy. And I started writing by writing a fantasy kid book. Then in junior high, I met someone. The feelings they awakened in me were feelings that I was not at all ready for. And my life darkened. My writing reflected it by becoming darker. Think Alanis Morrissette’s first cd.
And where my writing chose to go! Consider…
What was versus what is was definitely present in Darkened Soul. The flashback in the second section in 2048 Paris was a Daniel who was darker with little remorse in direct contract to the Daniel who was the narrator in present futuristic London who had regrets as well as brooded a lot.
Jonathan in Darkened Soul: Jonathan’s Tale started as a passive person who grew into his power. He also became a mask, hiding the hurt of being without the woman he loved…who happened to be the villain of the story.
Ebony in Darkchilde had so many faces, the question became would she allow anyone close to her enough to show her real face? Could she let down her guard?
I guess I could not pick on my own life if my characters’ lives were just as bad. Right? On one hand, their problems were relatable for vampires at least. In Daniel’s case, well…? After death and return, Daniel was back in Book 3 with no memory of his life before except for visions. Yet…when given the opportunity of having a second chance, would he commit the same mistakes of his past?
My own characters appeared to also be drawn to dark things. However, I saw that for all of these situations, there was always a silver lining. Jonathan had best friend Fredrick. Daniel had Jared in the past…and was in a triangle now. Ebony picked her man Nicholas.
Meanwhile all I got was a guy who said I said I had a beautiful mind. I also had enough tales of dating woes that I could fill a book. And have. LOL!!!
So while I like people who can appreciate that my mind is full of clever ideas, it does not all get me dates. Tales to tell yes. Dates no.
Speaking of which, back to work. That book was not going to finish itself…

Transiting Venus Enters Retrograde Zone
Timetable (current events in bold): Monday, January 30, Venus enters retrograde zone, 26:54 Pisces Friday, February 3, Venus enters Aries Saturday, March 4, Venus turns retrograde, 13:08 Aries Sunday, April 2, Venus retrogrades back into Pisces Saturday, April 15, Venus turns direct Friday, April 28, Venus enters Aries Thursday, May 18, Venus out of retrograde zone
https : // upload . wikimedia . org/wikipedia/commons/6/6a/Ishtar_vase_Louvre_AO17000-detail.jpg
“When Venus is in retrograde, the emotions and instincts go haywire. Our usual sense of what is beautiful, pleasing and attractive is suspended. Some astrologers warn against buying anything for its aesthetic appeal during this cycle, since the object will seem like a ‘lapse of good taste’ at a later date. Relationships begun now can be the same way. I'd double-check any decisions made by ‘gut level instinct’ or by the way the situation feels while Venus is backing up.” - Martin Bulgerin, www dot biopscinst dot com/bpi/RZVenus.html)
Well, then! Four months of this nonsense. The first thing we all need to do is check out our birth charts for which house(s) contain the swath of Zodiac between 26:54 Pisces and 13:08 Aries. This is, for better or for worse, the stage on which the drama plays out. Here is a good link to get you started.
Next, the signs: Venus is exalted in Pisces, and in her detriment in Aries. We need to figure out how Venus in her exaltation, misused, can lead to the kinds of mistakes made by Venus in her detriment. Isabel Hickey drops this clue: “Needs to learn discrimination where love of a personal nature is concerned.” Venus in Pisces can be a little too idealistic and dreamy. She can be delusional, indolent, and escapist here. (I’m reminded of how Lydia Bennet is described in Pride and Prejudice, after she has eloped with Wickham: “She was sure they should be married one time or other, and it did not much signify when.”)
“Issie” delineated Venus in Aries with the words “touchiness,” “easily offended,” and “inconsiderate,” before going on with, “This is a love springing into activity with ardor and enthusiasm, but not a sustaining and nurturing kind of caring…. The lesson needed this placement is the ability to put oneself in the other fellow’s shoes. In spite of an impulsive approach to love, Venus in Aries is idealistic, and is always seeking outwardly that which can only be found within.” (Bold italics mine.)
This brings us to the Sumerian myth of Inanna’s Descent to the Netherworld. This Sumerian goddess was the equivalent of Venus, with an added martial element. “Cliff Notes” version: Inanna wishes to visit her sister, Ereshkigal, in her Netherworld realm. Inanna lavishly adorns herself, prudently sets up contingency plans should she fail to return, and sets out. As she progresses, though, she must gradually remove all her garments and jewelry, leaving her naked as she eventually reaches Ereshkigal. Who promptly kills her. After three days (hmm), the rescue mission commences. It is successful, and Inanna is revived.
The entire journey was said to have taken 40 days (hmm), and - why, what do you know - Venus’ retrograde cycle is 42 days. So, we can easily correlate this pre-retrograde as Inanna getting ready to go - the actual retrograde as the journey - and the post-retrograde for what happens after the rescue. Let’s look at Venus’ three “main” associations to suss out what’s about to happen:
MONEY AND POSSESSIONS (Not necessarily taxes; that’s the 8th House!) Too often we in the western world equate our self-worth with the quantity and quality of our “stuff.” We can use the Venus Rx as a way to re-evaluate how much “stuff” we really need, and get rid of what we don’t need during the actual retrograde period. And, as Martin Bulgerin warned, this is not the time to make any major purchase! Keep in mind that this retrograde is a temporary situation. Remember that Inanna had contingency plans, too.
ART/AESTHETICS: Our creativity also comes up for re-evaluation. Our Muses may vanish, or we may banish them for being boring. To give this a proper Piscean spin, we may remember a fleeting urge we had, long ago, to pursue a different artistic expression. Again, it isn’t yet time to act. Go back to your natal Venus position and focus on what she says about your artistic creativity. You need to tune in to that. And have a contingency plan.
RELATIONSHIPS: (Ms M exhales a real Junie B. Jones huffy breath.) Old flames come back to haunt us. New flames burst onto the scene. The current partner is suddenly a little too boring, a little too predictable. The current lack of a partner becomes intolerable. We’re going to be too prone to jump into, or out of, relationships, especially given that most of this retrograde is in Aries! The problem ain’t the person - it’s the relationship. (And if like Ms M you’re single, it’s still about the relationship .) You now have almost four months in which to evaluate matters and take appropriate action.
Finally, Venus’ retrograde cycles are synodic. If we were to turn it into something a Spirograph would produce, it would look like this:
www . astrozero . co . uk/astronomy/venus_mandala.jpg
Look back eight years and expect the same themes to crop up. The entire 2009 Retrograde Zone lasted from February 1 to May 20, encompassing 29:11 Pisces to 15:27 Aries.
During these four remaining days of Venus’ first stint in Pisces, she makes only a couple of “intermediate” aspects. That won’t be the case in April, when she spends almost the entire month in the sign! I felt I should look at these minor ones, as they kind of “set the table” for what’s to follow.
Thursday, February 2, Ceres/Aries semisextile Venus/Pisces, 29:26
Here is where the trouble starts: we’re entertaining the notion that there is a one true love that is going to fulfill us. (Or one true work of art or piece of furniture. Ms M understands; she’s in perpetual quest of the One True Book.) It has a double Pisces influence, as Venus is in the sign, and a waning semisextile has a Piscean nature. We may not even be aware that this is happening. But now that I’ve made you aware, evil cackle, you can use this time to think about a real, reciprocal relationship.
Planets/Points affected lie between 28:26 and 29:59 of any sign.
Friday, February 3, Sun/Aquarius (14:57) semisquare Venus/Pisces (29:57)
Interestingly enough (run for cover when Ms M says something is “interesting”), this is also the day of a First-Quarter Moon, *and* only a few short minutes before Astrological Brigid. Weaving all this together, we see the stubborn and willful impulse to set plans into action (First Quarter Moon) before the time is quite ripe (Brigid). Perhaps instead we could all set the intent of getting all the Venus stuff right? We need to be patient and flexible.
Planets/Points affected lie between 13:57 and 15:57 of the fixed signs Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius; and between 28:57 and 29:59 of the mutable signs Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, and Pisces.

Exclusive: Not the time to play politics over appointment of health minister, says Shivraj Singh Chouhan; MP may extend lockdown if needed
The BJP government in Madhya Pradesh, which at present is grappling with the crisis of growing number of coronavirus positive cases and 76 deaths — second after Maharashtra with 223 deaths — may extend lockdown beyond 3 May, if the state is not completely out of danger.
The current government came to power in the state by toppling the 15-month-old Congress government — after a long political drama that culminated just two days before the complete lockdown of the country announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi began on 25 March. The state has functioned without a cabinet since then. Madhya Pradesh is the only state in the country with no health minister during this pandemic.
Ahead of a likely cabinet expansion on Tuesday, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, in an exclusive interview with Firstpost, discusses in detail about his strategy to combat COVID-19 pandemic, plans to reboot the economy and redress agrarian issues.
What is the Madhya Pradesh government’s approach towards lockdown?
Government is well prepared to fight this havoc and we’re leaving no stone unturned for the well-being of people. Right from the moment I took oath as the chief minister, I focused my attention on dealing with this disaster. The first challenge before us was to supply adequate medical equipment, medicines, masks, PPE kits etc. Now the supplies have been ensured. Initially, cases of coronavirus infection were less in Madhya Pradesh. At present, the number of such cases has increased. But, in many districts, conditions are now better than before. We’ve made complete monitoring arrangements. Senior and competent officers are looking after the mechanism of the system in every field. We have given necessary guidelines to government and private hospitals, and medical colleges. We also organised a training program for private hospitals after meeting with the Nursing Home Association. Many private hospitals are proposing to give their entire hospital to deal with this epidemic. We have appointed separate cells, separate officers and set up control centres. Work is being done for better implementation of the protocol that we have got for prevention of COVID-19 by the Central government. There will be no reduction in the supply of basic needs.
Madhya Pradesh Health Department, medical staff and administration are working with full vigour to control the spread of the virus. Telemedicine centres have been set up in all the districts to help doctors directly communicate with the COVID-19-affected people through video calling. An app has been developed to monitor the quarantined persons, with the help of photo-based geo-tagging method. Training modules are being provided through WHO and UNICEF to impart immediate training to nurses and paramedical staff. To solve the problems faced by citizens during the lockdown, round-the-clock control rooms and call centres have been set up at the state and district levels. All kinds of essential facilities are being provided adequately in the affected areas.
Are you planning to relax it gradually, if so how?
The good news is that in many places we have been able to control the infections. Initially, some cases were found in Jabalpur but now the situation is under control there. The situation in Bhopal has also improved. Gwalior and Shivpuri got completely free of COVID-19 infection. The positive news makes us believe that if we all come together and fight this disaster following the rules of social distancing and staying indoors, we can defeat this menace. For me, the first priority in any situation is the well being of every single person in Madhya Pradesh. Right now, my duty is to protect their health. It is our responsibility to maintain patience and extend mutual support for a few days more to fight the pandemic.
Click here for Coronavirus Outbreak LIVE Updates
I hope we will overcome this crisis very soon and succeed within this period itself.
In case we’re unable to get out of danger completely even after the lockdown, or if some more time is required to handle the crisis, the lockdown can be extended. The final decision will be taken on the basis of the outcome after lockdown ends and in the interest of the state.
Madhya Pradesh was much below the ladder in terms of COVID-19 positive cases and fatalities (first case of death on 25 March) initially. Why did it become the second state after Maharashtra in terms of deaths (76 deaths) gradually?
It is a challenging time not only for the state but for the whole country. We are trying our best. Initially, there were few cases in Madhya Pradesh, primarily in Jabalpur. But after that, there was a rapid increase in the number of cases around major cities like Indore and Bhopal. Tablighi Jamaat members from Madhya Pradesh, who attended the Markaz event in Delhi in March, came back and scattered into many corners and prime areas of the state. They responded reluctantly, didn’t come forward willingly and thus indirectly spread the infection. People with foreign travel history visited Indore, Bhopal and a few other places concealed the fact due to lack of awareness or other reasons. But we have increased medical facilities and are consistently trying to strengthen medical infrastructure across the state. New cases are still being found but we have divided the state into different zones. More than 400 containment areas and hotspots have been created in 26 districts. We’ve done 100 percent survey and contact tracing in all such areas. Screening and quarantining of more than 55,000 people have been undertaken. Arrangements have also been made to ensure the availability of all essential commodities in such areas.
India’s cleanest city consecutively for three years — Indore seems to have a growing number of cases — 897 cases and 52 deaths and has become a Coronavirus hotspot. What is the plan to contain it?
Indore is the prime commercial centre and densely populated city of the state. A large number of people from Indore travel abroad for business. Initially, such people concealed their travel histories and spread the infection by coming in contact with others. We are giving special attention to cases of infection found in the city. In Indore, the entire government staff, including the police and administration, along with public representatives, social workers, organizations, media and the public, has been fighting the battle against coronavirus wholeheartedly. I am confident that we will win this battle soon and Indore will set an example. I have reviewed the situation of the epidemic in Indore and the rest of the state, through video conferencing.
I have instructed on effective implementation of the strategy of ‘Identify, Isolate, Test and Treat’ (IITT) in all districts. With this strategy, we will be able to conquer coronavirus soon. The coronavirus testing rate in Indore is much higher than the rest of the state. A total of 5,120 samples have been taken in Indore, out of which 1,000 samples have been sent to Delhi for testing. So far, 3.9 lakh persons have been surveyed in the infected areas. Nearly 13 lakh people have already been surveyed in the entire city and another 21 lakh will be surveyed in the next seven days.
I have also given clear instructions for fair price ration to be sent to all districts in sufficient quantity and there should be no delay in the distribution. If there is no shop, the ration will be delivered at home. In order to ensure that vegetable and fruit crops are not spoiled, decentralised purchase of these perishable commodities can be arranged in a protective manner outside the city.
As per the instructions of the Centre, a containment plan has been prepared and implemented. Under rapid action, we have increased the number of investigation teams in the affected areas, in which three types of teams are working. One team creates public awareness and provides consultation, the second team collects samples by visiting homes and the third team provides psychological support to people by allaying their fears. We have arranged for the sample collection from home instead of hospitals so that a suspected infected person can be tested and isolated at the same time. In Indore, Bhopal and surrounding regions, instructions have been given for strict adherence to social distancing.
Coming back to power after 15 months, what according to you are the immediate concern, hurdles and challenges in combating COVID-19 pandemic?
The immediate concern is fighting and winning this war against coronavirus and the safety of the people. Hurdles and challenges are part of life. Although this situation is unprecedented, we have faced tough times earlier as well but have overcome and won every time with the support of the people of Madhya Pradesh. This time too, I firmly believe that with the support of the people, we will surely win. Saving lives is the biggest challenge in this fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
In the state, doctors, paramedical staff and even police have been attacked during the lockdown. What action will your government take against miscreants and what measures will be taken to prevent more such incidents?
We are continuously trying to counsel such persons so as to remove fears and misinformation about COVID-19, yet such incidents happen, which is very unfortunate. The Central government, the state governments and the entire administrative machinery of the country are repeatedly requesting people not to panic and to cooperate with relief workers. Instead, some incidents have been very disappointing. Recently, such incidents occurred in Uttar Pradesh too. No one will be spared if found disobeying the law, risking the lives of others or not cooperating. Those who attacked the officials are already behind bars under the provisions of the National Security Act and strict action will be taken against them.
What has the government done for migrant labourers and workforce in the state?
Adequate arrangements to provide food and ration to all the needy have been made. Many labourers from MP work outside the state; more than 5,70,000 workers had come to the state till 3 April. In view of the danger of infection, these migrant workers have been lodged separately in 2,792 places. Food has been arranged for them at 4,671 places in which private individuals and institutions are cooperating. Regular health check-up of migrant labourers is being done. This is the reason that only one labourer has been found coronavirus positive in the rural area, who is being regularly monitored and given required treatment. For monitoring health of migrant labourers, separate testing centres have been set up at 1,804 places at the Gram Panchayat level. A list of such labourers, who are ill, has been prepared and they are being monitored till recovery.
Recently, more than Rs 88 crore has been deposited in the accounts of 8,85,000 labourers, amounting to Rs 1,000 per worker, to help them meet their daily needs. Food arrangements have been made for daily wagers and also for those who do not fall under the BPL category but are unable to generate income due to lockdown. Instructions have given to provide two square meals to them from the amount available under the Panch Parmeshwar scheme of the Rural Development department.
Has the state government been effective in sending essential goods to poor localities?
Three months advance ration has been provided by the government to all the ration cardholders of the state. Apart from this, I have directed all district administrations that ration should be provided to the poor, labourers or any other person stuck in any district without food. So far, ration has been made available to more than five crore beneficiaries. On average, two lakh people are being fed daily in rural areas and 2.5 lakh in urban areas. The ration is also being given to those who don’t have ration cards.
How do you plan to reactivate the economy in the state?
It is, indeed, an unprecedented disaster and is surely going to disturb the economy of the state but we need to be well-prepared to face upcoming conditions at the earliest. This fact is in our checklist for the betterment and welfare of the state. The state is facing a monthly loss of around Rs 2,000 crore to Rs 3,000 crore, and we’re deeply concerned. We have formed a state-level committee to discuss measures to reboot the state’s economy and to regain the economic and financial momentum once the crisis ends. Wheat procurement is already in process. We are also planning to start the manufacturing industries soon in keeping with the central guidelines regarding COVID-19. We’ve already permitted transportation of goods, to keep the supply chain hassle-free. The production in the pharmaceutical sector is already on. We will gradually reopen remaining commercial activities across the state depending on the situation. For now, we have also allowed small economic activities in the green zones and small towns of the state. We will strictly follow the guidelines issued by the Government of India on restarting certain industries from 20 April onwards.
But it should be kept in mind that no labourer from the infected area would be allowed to report to work. All protective measures should be adhered to at the workplace. As far as possible, arrangements should be made for the workers to stay in the workplace.
When are you going to appoint ministers in your cabinet? There are allegations that the absence of a health minister has affected the fight against COVID-19.
In my opinion, this is not the right time to play such political games but we live in a democratic system, where everybody has the right to speak. However, allegations are not true. It is a fact that the council of ministers plays a crucial role in governance and ensuring the welfare of the state. As soon as I was sworn in as the chief minister, our primary focus was to prepare for this unprecedented battle, keeping in mind the safety of all public representatives as well. I am continuously coordinating with our MLAs and MPs and with their consultation, I am making decisions for the welfare of the state. Recently, we formed a 10-member committee to look after different aspects of this fight against COVID-19 and to support the mechanism built to fight this pandemic. As far as cabinet formation is concerned, whatever decision is taken, you will certainly get information about it.
Once the COVID-19 pandemic gets over, what would be your biggest challenge as the chief minister? What about the problems faced by farmers due to non-fulfilment of loan waiver promised to them by the Congress government?
Farmers are the backbone of our economy. Providing them with the right value of their crop will be our priority. We have already initiated procurement of wheat except in some districts that are affected by the pandemic. The crop loan scheme — that provides crop loans to farmers at zero percent interest — will also be continued in the year 2020-21. The previous government was considering shutting down this secure facility. Farmers are our priority and Madhya Pradesh government has been working relentlessly for the welfare of farmers. In this hour of crisis, we will give additional facilities to farmers. Agricultural activities will be encouraged in the state once this crisis gets over. As a respite, Rs 2,990 crores of crop insurance for FY 2018-19 and 2019-20 are being distributed immediately. I will do everything possible to ensure that farmers are not affected by this pandemic. I am also restarting the Sambal Yojna for the poor which can really make a difference in their lives.

I’m not sure if the drama has died down but..
Held this in for so long from the moment the dating rumours came. And recently I saw some fans defending him. And when there are defending comments it means there are attacking ones, right 😪
How I felt~~
When the dating/marriage news came it was so hard to believe that an oppa was gonna be off the shelf, especially since I always thought he was single. And this was the period when he was at his 2nd(?) peak with AOHY and 3MAD. The romcom king was ‘suddenly’ not single, the irony right, hahaha. So i told my close friends that 我失恋了 (😂) and that he’d no longer be my bias (😤) And I’d find someone else!! Like JJ oppa or DW oppa 😝
And i thought it would be understandable even if fans felt momentarily cheated, since I had no clue of him being attached (some articles say that some fans were aware of the dating since the last time rumours were denied - I’m not one of them though). Because ultimately, fangirling is like having a one-sided love. When your one-sided crush is getting married, it can’t help but hurt, for a while at least. And maybe for a while you’d emo in your small bubble 😅 And soon get back to your position to wish him all the best 😊 But why would this one-sided feelings ever become hate? 😕
So when comments took the worst against oppa, all the small emo feelings were quickly overcome by the instinct to defend oppa. As much as i was surprised by the news, the escalation of emotions from supposed fans was alarming and unexpected - maybe it’s common when idols got married? I’m not sure, since it’s the 1st marriage the fandom (and I) was witnessing 😊
At this point of time i remember a quote from DW oppa when he was on winwin:
Q: What is Shinhwa to you?
Dongwan: Like a mother; you may not have the constant wish to see her everyday, and you may find her annoying when she nags, but if anybody scolds her, you’d be very angry, and if anything happens to her, you’d want to be the first to run to her.
This felt very true at that point of time, even though of course, the only way of showing support was probably through fighting the keyboard war 😅 Haha. When I had time to spare, I tried to post nice stuff to oppas 😄 (in Korean btw ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ)
The only time fangirling hurt because OPPA YOU SO POOR THING 😭
How I feel~~
About my crush having found a partner 😄
Personally, after emoing in the little fangirl bubble, there’s really nothing disappointing. Your idol has found happiness! If anything it’s time to throw a party because he’s finally taken 🙈 And even just with photos, I felt honoured to be a very small part of his life journey and ‘witnessing’ his big life event 😸
About the denials and revelation
Put aside all the different stories, there is absolutely no obligation for him to break any of the news to anybody. If he be obliged to, because of the amount of fans’ love and support over these years, which somehow then makes his life liable to the public, I think he has done what he could.
If I were to use a very colloquial example: If I asked my good friend to go out for dinner And she told me that she’s tired and preparing to go home And then I see a photo of her dining outside Does that mean she betrayed me? 😐
From something so simple there could be so many possible reasons explaining what happened in between. Maybe she got hungry. Maybe she saw food she really wanted to try or couldn’t resist. Maybe she saw a long lost friend. Maybe she just changed her mind and wanted to go out. Maybe. Those are not even exhaustive, and there might be a combination of reasons about what happened.
Of course, to date or to get married might not be as simple as a change of mind. Even more so there could be tons of reasons about denying and admitting at different points of time. There are so many factors that oppa has to weigh, and I’m not gonna spend my life thinking about what was oppa’s reason, or what were the combination of reasons 😑 but I believe that he would have considered everything he could, and decided what was best for them and the fans. Yes, the fans… when he is thinking about his life event… I’d be so honoured as a fan!
About the overly simplified message via social media
There could be tons of reasons again. Most probably he wanted to anounce it to the fans first, and social media is instantaneous, wide-reaching.. ☺
Why not the fancafe? How would I know 😳 Maybe he couldn’t make it in time? Maybe he couldn’t access to it fast? Maybe it isn’t as instantaneous and wide-reaching? Again, there could be many reasons. I don’t think we should breathe down someone (someone we like 😙) just because he chose another road to get to the same place, just because we would have preferred the other road right 😊
About the management of the company
The question really, is why at that time. I’ve seen fans expressing unhappiness at the staff now and then when things crop up. Maybe the team really isn’t meeting expectations. They function as a small company. And yes he is the CEO. The one who brought Shinhwa out of the danger of disbanding. The one who set up a company for themselves. The one who led Shinhwa for 19 years. He didn’t need to do this but he did all of them without complaints and without trying to claim credit. And suddenly because your one-sided crush ended, he becomes the most evil person. Does that even make sense 💩
As to the real problems of the management, I can’t say I know a lot so I shall tread carefully 💃 But I do recall instances where they could have performed better 🙎 Personally though, I think the outburst at that specific time was uncalled for, even if the concerns were legitimate. It would have appeared like these people were inciting drama, and maybe leading to them getting backlash, and maybe then causing them to leave the fandom. What a pity, it’s really not worth it right.
About…OTPs
I ship ricsyung and I still do, because their interactions are too cute to be ignored 😍 HS oppa please do more ‘pulling’ because nowadays E oppa doesn’t seem to be doing that anymore 😫 my shipper heart HEHEHE. I think shipping shouldn’t interfere with them finding partners… Because I do hope oppas find their individual someones to take care of them so that they can grow old happily with company 😊
About the fans who really can’t accept all of these
Instead of constantly throwing hate and complaining about your 'ex-boyfriend’, just accept the 'breakup’ peacefully… oppa won’t beg a woman who left him to come back…(inserts quote from shinbang) Peace! ✌
In conclusion
So now oppa is married 👫 It is unfortunate that since the dating news, oppa was unnecessarily accused for different things for a while (and apologizing excessively because he is a gentleman 👔) Looking at the empty seats in MOVE concert sure hurt 💔 I’m not sure how the whole fandom size has evolved since then, but I do hope that the 20^th anniversary concert will be filled 🙏
Hope that E oppa’s appearance on 3MAD and the other oppas’ solo activities will help them and the fans get back on track and prepare for 20^th anniversary 💪 Woohoo! Looking forward to juggling fangirling and busy life 👉👈
Wishing them all the best. Remaining oppas please find your partners soon too 😊

How to Screw Up a Windshield Replacement
If you live in Merced, California and you need a windshield replacement, let me tell you, it's very easy to screw up windshield replacement. It really is. It's so easy to find the wrong service provider. It's so easy to come up with a choice that you will come to regret later on.
The good news is you're hardly alone. If you've ever made the wrong call, you can at least rest assured in the fact that other people have screwed up before you. If you screwed up in the past, believe me, people are making the same mistake now and they probably will make the same mistake in the future. Don't beat yourself up too badly.
Understand that you stand to lose quite a bit of money and time if you make certain mistakes that involve windshield replacement. I'm sharing with you information on how to screw up a windshield replacement in the hope that by understanding what not to do, you can get a clear idea of what to do.
Make no mistake about it, windshield replacement is a very big issue. It's only a matter of time because all sorts of hazards exist on the road that can prematurely cut short the life of your windshield. Your windshield might look solid, your windshield might be of high quality, but none of that really guards against the very strong possibility that your windshield might need to be replaced sooner rather than later. Here are just some ways most people screw up a windshield replacement.
Ignore All Obvious Signs
If you notice that there's a crack on your windshield, but you feel that you're too busy to deal with it, let me tell you, you're just making things worse on yourself. You might reach a point where the windshield poses a danger to you and you really only have yourself to blame if the worst case scenario plays out.
Don't ignore obvious signs. If a crack is pronounced, then it's really like a flashing neon sign for you that you just need to step up to the phone, pick it up, call a provider of windshield replacement Merced car owners trust, and get the job done.
It's pretty straightforward because these service providers come to you. You don't have to go to their shop. You don't have to go out of your way. It's a fairly convenient and quick service. However, for you to take care of the problem as quickly and conveniently as possible, you have to stop ignoring obvious signs and take action today. Not tomorrow. Today.
Wait Until the Last Minute
This happens quite a bit. A lot of car owners would look at the crack on their windshield and think that they will just wait the next day because they're very busy today. They have a lot of duties and responsibilities and obligations and they really wish they had more hours in a 24 hour period.
I really can't say I blame them. Most people are like this. Most people are that busy, but the problem is, you can't afford to wait until the last minute because you might not get another chance. I'm sure you don't need me to remind you how bad it could be if your windshield breaks apart while you're at the highway going at a speed of 60 miles per hour. Let me tell you, it's not a cake walk. It's not going to be fun.
Don't Look for a Provider of Windshield Replacement, Merced Residents Prefer
On the other end of the equation are people who jump in with both feet. These are people who basically take action impulsively. While you should take action, you should not take action impulsively. These are two totally different things.
In many cases, the problems that you are solving by taking action are outweighed by the problems that you create by taking action impulsively. You have to make sure that you find the right service provider. At the very least, you need to look for a provider of windshield replacement Merced residents prefer and trust.
In other words, look for a company that has your best interest in mind. Look for a company that can get the job done right and can provide maximum value. This is not as easy as you think. It takes quite a bit of time, it takes a little bit of legwork and you need to do your homework.
Go With Simple Word of Mouth
Another way to screw up your windshield replacement is to simply ask random people that you know where to get a windshield. Well, if you ask this one simple question to 100 people, you probably will get 100 different answers.
This is to be expected because different people have different needs. We all have different sets of circumstances and it really should not be a surprise why our references and referrals would be different.
Don't just go with simple word of mouth. You need to make sure that the person that you asked is similarly situated as you and is dealing with the same issues as you.
Go With Random Providers You Find Online
A particularly dangerous way to find windshield replacement services is to simply go online and pick the very first provider you come up with. That's right. You type in a search term on Google, and then out comes some ads. You click on the first ad and call it a day.
Well, I'm telling you, just because that company has the budget to advertise, it doesn't necessarily mean that they provide the level of quality you need and deserve. Those two may not necessarily coincide. You have to do something more.
You have to look for a provider of windshield replacement Merced residents trust. In other words, they have to have a track record. They have to be able to not only do the job, but do the job right consistently for a wide range of people faced with a wide range of circumstances.
Don't Insist on Door to Door Service
If you really want to make things harder on yourself, don't insist on door to door service. Tell the service provider that you will drive your car to their place. This is going to be a problem because when you do this, you start operating based on their schedule.
Now, this is okay if you have nothing else better to do. However, if you're like the typical person, you probably would rather be somewhere else. You probably would be doing a thousand other things. Do yourself a big favor and respect your time by insisting on door to door service.
Forget About Warranties
Another way to truly drop the ball when it comes to windshield replacement is to not talk about warranties. Maybe you're embarrassed about talking about it, maybe you are intimidated by the whole process so this idea went over your head. Whatever the case may be, you cannot afford to forget about warranties.
A warranty really is an assurance to you by the service provider that they are so confident about the quality of their work that they would risk losing money and time just to do things over. Nine times out of ten, you don't really need to collect on the warranty because chances are good that you probably would sell your car first before there are warranty issues that crop up.
Still, the fact that the service provider is confident enough to issue some kind of warranty speaks volumes about their perception of their work quality. At least you have some sort of legal recourse if something goes wrong with your particular windshield replacement installation.
Rush Through the Process
Finally, one of the most common ways people screw up the replacement of their windshield is to simply rush through the process. They can't be bothered so they don't think things through. They just find a provider, whip out their credit cards, and take care of business.
While it may be true that doing things this way can save you a tremendous amount of time, whatever time and money you saved will eventually be outweighed by the headaches, hassles and unnecessary drama involved with having to fix your initial bad decision.
What could go wrong? Well, your windshield can come apart. The installation might be done badly and this can pose a hazard to you while you're driving. All sorts of nightmare scenarios can crop up. I don't want to scare you unnecessarily, but believe me, the stakes are quite high.
Don't rush through the process. Make sure you think each step through and make sure you pay close attention.

June Forecast for Scorpio
Intensity is your jam, Scorpio, so why pretend otherwise? With the Sun in Gemini and your scintillating eighth house—the zodiac zone that’s governed by Scorpio—you’ll be in your element until June 21. Dive deep into researching, plotting and enjoying your obsession du jour. With mental Mercury also in Gemini until June 12, you can untangle any knotty emotional or financial issues—your own or someone else’s. Just make sure that your new unofficial role of therapist doesn’t distract you from your own duties. It will be all too easy to tumble down rabbit holes this month!
The June 13 Gemini new moon kicks off a new chapter around your closest bonds and mergers. From a joint business venture to a sexy soulmate connection, your focus will be on “power coupling” now. Between this and the corresponding Gemini full moon on November 23, a collaboration could crescendo. Enjoy the passionate meeting of the minds, hearts and/or souls, but do all the digging you need if you’re not ready to make things official. Take your time to explore the possibilities of a permanent merger and ensure that everyone’s most important needs will be satisfied. Think of the next six months as an energetic engagement period before you put a (literal or symbolic) ring on it. If the chemistry and connection are really right, your due diligence will be rewarded.
Father’s Day is June 17, and, serendipitously, the moon is in heart-centered Leo, ruler of your paternal tenth house. Spending quality time with your favorite father figure will be a no-brainer. Keep plans simple and structured instead of just going with the flow. With la luna in this upscale part of your chart, splurge this year: perhaps a brunch reservation for a chef’s tasting menu, great seats to a show or a chartered helicopter ride for an hour. (Split the cost with siblings or a few other people, and it won’t cost that much more than a nice meal.)
The second half of the month takes a different tone, as Neptune and Mars turn retrograde, bringing the total retrograde-planet count to five. Jupiter, Saturn and Pluto are already in their slowed-down cycles, and these newcomers put the world in an even more reflective state. Action could stall on an important project or goal. Rather than get frustrated, use this summer to handle unfinished business and tighten your existing plans.
Luckily, you’ll get a balancing burst of optimism once #CancerSeason begins on June 21 and the Sun makes its four-week voyage through the sign of the Crab, heating up your worldly and adventurous ninth house. Once your wanderlust kicks in, take some vacation days, exploring new curiosities through travel, workshops and learning. Got an idea for an indie side hustle? Play with a few possibilities. This is your month to branch out—you never know what your options really are until you take a risk and try. With expansive Jupiter retrograde in Scorpio until July 10, you might be ready to implement a few trial projects next month, when the red-spotted planet wakes up and gets you pumped to take a chance.
Back to this month’s retrogrades: The first U-turn is nebulous Neptune, which will backtrack through Pisces and your fifth house of love and self-expression from June 18 to November 24. A smooth-talking ex could resurface, or you might have second thoughts about a love interest. For couples, compassionate Neptune won’t be as available to help you smooth over conflict with sweet talk and denial—a blessing in disguise, perhaps.
Watch for passive-aggressive people who stir up drama then act innocent, making YOU feel like it’s your fault (the official term is “gaslighting”). Distance yourself from divas and attention seekers who drain your energy this summer—and if you find you don’t miss them, maintain that healthy space after Neptune turns direct. You don’t have to clean up their messes, Scorpio. With codependent Neptune in “sleep” mode, this is your chance to let others be accountable for their actions. Use the extra time to do any romantic repair work or to pick up a passion project that got back-burnered.
From June 26 to August 27, intensifier Mars will be retrograde—mostly in Aquarius and your fourth house of home and family. This could stall plans to move, renovate or expand your progeny—or add a layer of tension to any domestic affairs. Combative Mars could ratchet up the tension under your roof with relatives and roommates.
With stressful Mars in this brooding backslide, you could feel claustrophobic, and you’ll be extra sensitive to “stuck” energy in your home, workspace or any place where you spend significant time. Transform that cabin fever into Feng Shui fever: Give cluttered areas a Marie Kondo-style space-clearing, ditching (or packing away) possessions that don’t “spark joy.” Light a sage wand or three and follow a few practical tips from the Simple Shui blog to give your sacred spaces more oxygen!
Speaking of air, you have a powerful chance to clear it on June 28, when the year’s only Capricorn full moon illuminates your third house of communication. With maturity planet Saturn hovering close by, put on the big-Scorpio pants and have “the talk.” If need be, follow these great steps for having difficult conversations. Goal-oriented Capricorn energy helps you focus on the desired outcome, not harp on the problem. Use these mediating moonbeams to forge a win-win scenario. Exciting news could arrive at this full moon, and an idea you’ve been working on since January could come together at last!
Love & Romance
With amorous Venus in Cancer and your worldly ninth house until June 13, you’ll be adventurous and willing to try new things. Travel opportunities could crop up, and if you’ve got the time and funds, pack a bag and go! This open-minded and open-hearted cycle is great for meeting people who aren’t your usual type. Don’t be too quick to move on after “hello”; a few more sentences might reveal that there’s real chemistry there. A cross-cultural or long-distance affair could be just the thing to spice up your summer.
The first couple days of the month are especially hot. When Venus aligns with expansive Jupiter in your sensual sign on June 1, you’ll feel especially confident and eager to take a chance on romance. In a relationship? This sweet sync-up can deepen your bond and inspire you to express your true feelings. On June 2, the love planet forms another harmonious trine, this time with dreamy Neptune in Pisces and your passionate fifth house. You might step out of your guarded character and share a fantasy—all the better if you’ve got the right partner in crime to help you enact it!
But for all the feistiness and independence you’re feeling, there’s an equal and opposite pull toward the sentimental and familiar. With intense Mars in Aquarius and your foundational fourth house all month, emotions could be extra-strong—and all over the map. Before you react, take a few steps back to assess the situation more objectively.
Mars turns retrograde in June for two months, which could leave you prone to mood swings and even depression. There may be a family drama to deal with, or you might have second thoughts or regrets about opening up to someone. If you were all set to move in together and that plan stalled, take it as a sign that there are still a few things left to negotiate.
When Venus parades into Leo and your future-oriented tenth house on June 13 (until July 9), you’ll get more serious about what’s next, in both your career and your love life. Singles could meet someone at work or an industry-related event, or an enthusiastic colleague might volunteer to play matchmaker. Couples can have some serious conversations about shared goals and where you both see yourselves one, two and five years down the road.
Even as she’s cruising down the freeway, the love planet will hit a few speed bumps in the second half of the month. On June 14, she squares off with erratic Uranus, possibly putting you and your S.O. at odds in an unexpected way. A week later, on June 21, she forms a tense opposition with passionate Mars, which could tear you between head and heart. Finally, on June 25, Venus clashes with expansive Jupiter in your sign, which could leave you craving room to roam. You don’t HAVE to walk away from a solid union; just give yourself enough personal space to detach from other people’s demands so you don’t grow resentful.
Key Dates
June 14: Venus-Uranus Square Are you on the same page for the future? Someone’s instability or lack of clear direction might be making it hard to plan ahead. Your desire for excitement could be at odds with your attempts to lock in a long-term commitment. Finding the right balance of security and autonomy may take some creative compromise.
Money & Career
The divine is in the details this month, Scorpio. With the Sun in Gemini and your focused eighth house until June 21, you’ve got the stamina to tackle a project that needs your microscopic attention. From taxes to spreadsheets to investing, your long-term finances are calling. Tune in while mental Mercury is also here until June 12, and you’ll get through the most grueling parts. The June 13 Gemini new moon helps you turn over a new fiscal leaf. This lunar lift could bring a joint venture or real estate opportunity. If you can pool your talents and resources for mutual gain, why go it alone, Scorpio?
Action planet Mars is hiding out in your domestic sector until August 12. Carve out a niche where you can get productive or give your home office a makeover and cleanup. You’ll be super productive and inspired at Chateau Scorpio, so even if it’s just a zoned-off corner of the coffee table that you can claim, mark your turf! And do it before Mars turns retrograde for two months on June 26. After that, friction will rise under your roof. Freelance Scorpios: Consider joining a coworking space or even commandeering a friend’s spare room (or desk or kitchen table) if you need to get work done above the fray.
Once the Sun enters Cancer on June 21, you’ll have a month of blue-sky dreaming ahead, so carve out time for those visionary projects that are more about passion than practicality. Have you gotten consumed with an office microdrama or burnt out by long hours staring at eight-point typography? Pull yourself out of tunnel vision and shift your settings to wide-angle. The June 28 Capricorn full moon could bring a powerful pitch meeting or an opportunity that involves writing, teaching or media.
Key Dates
June 27: Sun-Saturn Opposition Someone’s gloomy comment could burst your balloon or cause you to lose faith in one of your big ideas. While it’s never a bad idea to double-check your data, there’s no reason to give up on your dream! Quote
Click here for Coronavirus Outbreak LIVE Updates I hope we will overcome this crisis very soon and succeed within this period itself.
