I JUST FINISHED SONK ADVENTURE 2 IM NOT OKAY OMG

The scene with Shadow falling to earth was funny at first and it all happened so fast i was still trying to wrap my head around it. Ppl talk about that scene a lot which theyre so right for, but i need to talk about the scenes after because oh my god they broke me!?!??!

Sonic, coming back onto the ark, completely silent. Everyone asking if Shadow made it back and he just slowly shakes his head without a word.

The scene where Sonic gives Rouge Shadow's inhibitior ring hold so much more weight to me after actually playing the game: In the short time they knew each other, Shadow saved Rouge's life. Twice. This is the only possession she has to remember him by. Knuckles asks her what shes going to do now and she actually stops to reflect and remarks how shes thinking of changing jobs, something else on her mind now(What exactly shes referring to in this moment isnt stated but theres a fair few connections to draw there). After almost getting killed during a heist and never getting a chance to thank the guy who saved her from it, that's a pretty good and strangely mature call to make from a writing standpoint. This whole scene has a similar feeling like that, like the jokes and the extravagance thats typical of the cutscenes have really been toned down with intention.

This one genuinely shocked me, and im really surprised i havent come across anything about it yet because the scene between Eggman and Tails was actually super deep?? There are a lot of different Sonic medias as far as I im aware that have touched on the paralells between Eggman and Tails: their small similarities and how well they work together when they have to, but the scene here really stuck out to me. Eggman is talking about how much he admired his grandfather as a child, how much his work inspired him to learn and create and strive to be great like him, drifting off to question whether or not he really wanted to see them all fall. Tail's response is very chipper and optimistic, but i really like the idea of Eggman having almost this turning point here, having to face something so saddening as watching someone you love curse the world and everyone on it(including you). After arguably some of the most dangerous and threatening feats have been accomplished by Eggman in this game as the story's primary antagonist, is this moment a nod to him maybe stopping to think about what he's done? Im amazed by how much meaning can be taken from these few seconds of dialogue!!

Finally, the last two moments. Amy, despite having had her own short heart to heart with Shadow before the final battle and ultimately being the one to spurr Shadow on to fight alongside Sonic and the others, doesn't seem as upset by Shadows death as Sonic is. This is genuinely, in my limited knowledge of Sonic media, one of the only instances i have seen Sonic be thoroughly shaken up by something and brushed it off when someone asks him whats wrong. In most cases, he's just relatively unfazed from an emotional standpoint like that, so theres nothing to brush off in the first place. But here, the ever-yapping blue blur remains silent for a while, just staring at Earth in a similar paralell to how Shadow used to. It isn't until Amy comes by that he looks away. Its the really subtle details here that get me: Sonic doesn't look or respond to her right away. There's a prominent pause of silence before he turns to her and says its nothing, switching the topic immediately to rush her along. Sonic, typically impatient and eager to move to the next adventure, slows down and is the last to leave the deck, delivers the farewell line to end the game. Again, the contrast in how slowly and soft he speaks here in comparison to literally anything else he says in the game is insane. The pause between "Shadow" and "the Hedgehog" is still very funny to me and im not lost on how the delivery does end up being chopped up quite goofy like that, but if that isnt an absolutely insane way to end off the game with such a somber, emotional moment...

Sonadow or no sonadow, take it as you will, its undeniable how impactful this adventure in particular is to Sonic. How much Shadow meant to him by the end of the game. How much his sacrifice meant. I really see his discussion with Rouge as both a way to comfort her, and to comfort himself. To say out loud how heroic and brave he'd seen Shadow to be, regardless of the intention that came from his creation. Sonic is big on freedom and giving people the opportunity to live how they want to, and Shadow's sacrifice in that regard means even more to him. He had just come to understand what he had truly promised Maria he'd do, joined Sonic whole-heartedly to help save the planet, and never got to experience anything beyond that. Given Eggmans continuous antangonistic streak at that point (I'm not fully aware of the other villain's Sonic had faced up until that point), it's rare that Sonic actually gets to see someone who opposed him change for the better!! And not only was Shadow one of the first to do so, but he was a speedy teen hedgehog!!! Just like Sonic himself!!! Its like Shadow said, there was so much more to them that they never got to find out about each other!! The fact that Shadow gave up all of that possibility, all of his own personal freedom to help Sonic save the planet and the freedom of all the people on it? That hits. HARD.

Im not familiar with the full canon of how Sonic actually managed to get one of Shadow's inhibitior rings to give to Rouge, as he's actually not shown in any scene taking them off during the final battle(i actually dont even think their mechanics are properly explained which is more confusing but yk), but getting into more headcanony, sonadow adjacent space for a second? I like to think Shadow actually took two of his rings off/had two break off before he fell. Sonic gave one to Rouge, and secretly kept the other for himself. He obviously didn't want his friends to ask him more questions about how he was feeling, so he hid it in his quills before he greeted them back on the ark. Shadow ended up meaning a lot to Sonic, and it's really interesting to think about what was running through Sonic's mind when all was said and done.

Uhhh anyways good game very very infuriating at times but very good game i have a true taste for the appeal of Sonic games now and i want to play them all. I posted a question about Buck and Bucky’s pet peeves a few days ago and I received a lot of great responses! Thank you guys! I will compile them in this post instead of replying individually.

bucky def hates being micromanaged and passive aggressive people

Hahaha, very true, especially the micromanagement. He doesn’t like unreasonably tight reins.

another common pet peeve is when ppl talk over u/ interrupt OR talk down to u. i could see bucky having a pet peeve of ppl talking down to him but not really interrupting. however can we say that those two r his biggest pet peeves when directed towards buck… (i cannot separate these two in my head)

Bucky wouldn’t be able to stand that, for sure! I like how you extended it to him having the same pet peeves about people doing that to Buck. I can see him being really irritated with that.

i think buck might have a pet peeve of chewing too loud.

Maybe if it's too loud, but I’m not sure about this because he's the one who always has something in his mouth 😁

i could see bucky having a pet peeve with slow drivers and know it alls.

Oh, the faces he’d make if he was stuck behind a slow driver 😆 The best would be if they were stuck while it was Gale driving - Gale would be all calm and collected while Bucky would be rolling his eyes and huffing in the passenger seat.

Mm pet peeve - Bucky is more than fine with physical touches, but only if he initiates it. He actually do like his personal space, but it's something that he prefers to invite people into rather than have them just come in. Remember that one scene when Croz was pointing out the general direction of Scotland in ep2, and Bucky (hilariously) pushed Croz's finger from his face with a cute little disgruntled look on his face? Cutest thing!

I remember that moment, it was so funny! I think it was because of the vomit, but I like this idea, would be interesting to explore. Actually, if we think about it, when was Bucky touched in the show without him or Buck initiating it first?

They both can't stand wasting anything. Be it food, clothes or anything materialistic. They rather eat leftovers for three days then throw it in the bin. Wear their clothes until they can't be repaired anymore. (Not because they have no money but because they're frugal af) This would be so for the rest of their lives.

I think this is a good one because imagine wasting food after their experiences in the stalag. I agree that they'd try to eat everything. They're not picky anyway. I do think they like nice clothes though, they were always so stylish 😄

Gale's very specific about the way things are done. He's very OCD, has lists for everything. He can't stand to be disrupted if he's in the middle of solving a problem.

Omg yeah, disrupting Gale while he’s solving a problem is a no-no. He shoots the other person these looks that could kill - doesn’t even need to say anything, people just scamper away.

And OCD Buck has just come up recently - it could be an interesting take on him! And also how others try to accommodate it, especially John, who's the furthest thing from OCD.

John is a nurturer and loves to give presents (but always things that are needed, never just fun things because that seems wasteful) so he gets a bit standoffish when people take this for granted and NEVER give back.

Aww, yes, poor John! He's such a giver. Giving back doesn’t even have to be a present, it's enough for him to feel the other's happiness and love. It would hurt him so bad if someone just discarded his present.

it was relieving almost- to know that your relationship with remus will always be the same platonic thing. nothing will ever change between the two of you. nothing silly will bring you guys apart.

the reason why he can be so affectionate towards you is because he knows you will not find it weird at all and things wouldn't go awkward between the two of you.

SO we noticed how Nagito and Sonia look STRANGELY alike like bruh maybe the danganronpa art style has like, same face syndrome or smthn idk but like cmon pls Nagito and Sonia they almost look like twins which I love bcuz they're both honestly so well designed anyway

In my very personal headcanon, they're actually siblings. That's what I think and I'm gonna explain my theory below

So we know abt Nagito's good luck bad luck cycle. And I thought, what if Nagito is the first child of Sonia's parents, and since they live in a castle and in this royal like environment they'd have a sort of tradition running in the family and whenever a new child is born, they'd go to a sort of fortune teller or clairvoyant like those ppl who see in a crystal ball or idk ANYWAY

So they go to their personal clairvoyant guy idk bruh and the person tells them about Nagito's misfoturne cycle. Like he's born with it it's unfair it's sad but yeah poor little Nagito

So Sonia's parents are like omg no this can't be happening we love our son but who knows what his cycle may cause to us?!?! Only God knows!!! What if because of him the castle like burns or something or something very bad happens so they're like yeah we love you bby boy but you gotta go we're so sorry and they like, give him? So yeah some time later Sonia's parents have Sonia and still have Nagito in mind and they're feeling super guilty and with Sonia looking awfully like him its not helping so yeah I think they'd keep like letters they'd write to Nagito to send him when he'd get older and signed anonymously yknow? Like "we hope you're growing up in good conditions and in a nice environment, we love you Nagito" stuff like that, and It's signed anonymously at the end

And then Sonia and Nagito meet during the game and notice the very visible not only physical but also the similarities in their personality and behavior like idk they're both a little silly its so cute and they're like "lol hold up" and it'd be cute if the other students would (lightheartedly) joke abt these two being siblings WHEN IT'S THE CASE

"Hello?" she answered "I have a job for you today. You're performing at vidcon. Like singing." y/n's face lit up at the thought of her performing at vidcon for all her fans. "OMG! Are you serious.?" y/n asked still in shock.

"Deadly." her manager stated. y/n silently jumped up and down in excitement. "What time do I need to be there?" y/n questioned. "12. But you might want to get there a little earlier being as it can get very hectic. the triplets walked into the building and to their booth while megan went to grab a chair and sit on the sidelines, since she was kind of irrelevant in this situation. she watched as all the girls piled up all over the triplets. giving them hugs, and fake little kisses on the cheek. some might say she even got jealous. the boys signed some books, and papers as well. they also took pictures, you know the usual. megan was kind of getting tired of it, so she went to go see if her favorite tiktoker was here. she walked around for some time, until she came up on a long, line. she gazed her view from the back of the line to the front. she met eyes with y/n. she smiled and waved, y/n smiled back as megan ran to the line, to wait for her turn.

the guys took a break from taking pictures and went back to signing autographs as matt looked around for megan. "Guys, where's Megan?" matt asked confused. why would she leave without telling him. I love we actually saw alot of The Addams Family Dynamic in the show! like in this rendition and universe ykyk. Also always great to have more Gomez and Tish and they're relations with the town and Nevermore.
