The internet was filled with so many girls thinking they could get rich quick just by taking off their clothes. Like they were something special, something to behold. But really, they were one in a billion. Forgettable. Nothing different from the next person.

You were one in thousands. Slightly better odds.

With a grunt of disapproval, he started looking for something different, hoping for something new. Key words being typed into searches, but nothing catching his eye in half of those either. The chat sped up, messages agreeing with the sentiment, and more chimes of tips being given for the cause. Another giggle came from her lips as she brought the glass back up to her mouth.

Not to be out done, Crowley made a donation of his own.

You were smiling, giggling, happy that everyone seemed to enjoy the theme of the room tonight. Glad that James approved of how you used his gift. You tilted the glass back just as a few chimes went off signaling more donations, and one of them made you choke on the scotch and spit it out. You stared at the screen, stunned as the liquid ran down off your chin.

Who the fuck was TheKing, and why did he just drop what had to be about 2 grand on you?

A new alert sounded, and you noticed you had a DM. Speak of the devil.

Three little dots in the corner let you know he was typing almost immediately.

You chewed on your bottom lip for a moment, considering the offer. Private shows didn’t really happen a whole lot, but when they did, it was charged by the minute so it was worth the time. You found yourself using your thumb to crack the knuckle of your index finger, and then your middle one before you nodded. “Yeah, we can do a private chat.” you spoke, letting the chatroom know your cam would be shutting off in there in a minute.

You were chewing on your lip as you waited for his cam to kick in. It was a moment of black before a bright light seemed to come on, and quickly it shifted. There was black in the middle of brightness, and then slowly the light seemed to adjust. It was a window. A massive window. As the lighting adjusted, you found yourself looking at a man in a suit and behind him, a city skyscape all laid out for him.  Glancing at the time, you wondered where in the world he was. Was it evening like where you were, the sun still holding on and not yet ready to set, or was that a morning glow behind him. Either way, it looked beautiful.

The man himself was something to behold. Not stunningly beautiful, not young and fit like some of the guys who popped up on camera for you, but captivating. He seemed to demand attention, radiating power. He was someone. A few very short hairs touched his forehead, he had a short beard as well, one you had the urge to run your fingertips over. Dark piercing eyes that you felt burning into you as one side of his mouth turned up into a smirk at your reaction of seeing him.

“H-hi.” you stuttered, then curse yourself for it.

His smile only widened. He brought a glass up, and that’s when you noticed the bottle on his desk. The same as the bottle still sitting between your thighs. He took a sip, then placed the glass down on the dark wood. “Why Saltine?” he asked, and you felt your stomach flutter at the accent.

“Because I’m so fucking salty all the time?” You gave him a shy smile. “Why TheKing? What are you the king of?”

“Your dreams.” He answered without hesitation and a fuck ton of confidence. He was cocky, he knew the effect he had on people and how to use it. “If you wish it.”

“Tempting.” you try to tease, lifting your own glass to your lips. “Why me?” you ask before sipping.

“Glencraig. Aged 30 years or more, there is no finer drink, love. It’s rare to find a woman with such tastes.”

“It was bought for me.”

“But you enjoy it, yes?” You gave him a nod. You had to admit, it wasn’t bad. “A woman of taste.” he smiled again. “What other things do you enjoy, Saltine? Money? Things? Travel?”

“Are you offering?” he intrigued you. He really did. Something about him made you want more and you didn’t even know him. “I could use a vacation.”

“Anywhere you want, darling. Where would you like to go?”

“Paris.” You answered quickly, and it didn’t seem to faze him at all. “Scotland.” you added. “England. Ireland. India. Japan. I want to see it all.”

His smile widened again. “Scotland, eh? It has been a while since I’ve been home.”

“I was joking.” you chuckled.

“I wasn’t. In another life, I could’ve given you everything you wanted and more with just a snap of my fingers.” You sat there, stunned again. “Choose a place and I’ll send you there. If you want, I’ll take the time and meet you there. The choice is yours, darling. It’s been a long time since I’ve been this interested in anything.”

“All because of a bottle of Craig?” you asked.

“Everything good in life starts with a quality scots. Be it a whiskey, or a scotsman.” he winked. “So where first?”

Save Yourself (For Me): Part Two of Many? - anon fic

Okay, so I realised two things. First of all, too my absolute horror, I had writtent tip toes of toes which is cringey I apologise for making you guys uncomfortable with that. Second of all, the title sucks and may or may not be a work in progress. We’ll see if I can think of a better one.

This is set in 6th year at Hogwarts, so Sid and Geno are 16 and 17 respectively. As are Nicky and Ovi. Furthermore, most of the older Pens (Flower, Kuni, Tanger, etc) are 16 and 17, too. So be warned of underage. Please, I know about the trades and stuff but I’m choosing to ignore them for the sake of my sanity. 

This is set in the HP universe, they’re bringing back the Tournament again, and G’s panicking because last time a student died (spoiler alert: it was Cedric, obviously, it’s always the Hufflepuff) 

Interesting factoid: Since Geno and Harry share the same birthday, in about a fortnight (2 weeks) they will be turning 31 and 37 respectively (at least I hope my calculations are correct).

Criticism, constructive though, is very much appreciated. I’m kind of making this up as I go, so if any of you have ideas please be free to tell them (If Ms. Bee doesn’t mind).

This, Geno thinks hysterically while shaking Headmistress Mcgonagall’s hand and trying to simultaneously glare at Sasha, is the worst early Christmas present he has ever received. And he doesn’t even celebrate Christmas. Sasha has really outdone himself this year. 

Sasha, the asshole, all the while is smiling beatifically while Nicky, Sid and the rest of Geno’s friends look on with varying degrees of amusement or horror. Flower even manages to contort his already hilarious face to fit both moods and if Geno wasn’t about to compete in the Triwizard Tournament he would’ve laughed. Instead, Geno tries not to panic. 

Keyword, tries. 

Before he can voice his protest he’s immediately ushered out of the Hall and into an adjoining room he vaguely remembers making out with Sid in, and also waiting for his sorting ceremony all those years ago. Good memories were made in this room, and now they’re going to be ruined with this one. What a shame. 

They’re left alone with hurried instructions on to please introduce each other, don’t set anything on fire, and a reporter (journalist? Geno doesn’t know) will be joining them shortly.

It’s then Geno even realises that there’s two other kids that have too compete with him to win the cup. This does very little to comfort him. 

He turns slowly to face the other two Champions and is greeted by an unimpressed raised eyebrow and a death glare. That was too be expected, Geno thinks. The Beauxbatons students always look unimpressed and the Durmstrang students always look their planning your murder. 

Sid would call this stereotyping, Geno would  call this merely an observation. Besides at least his stereotypes, if they can be called that, are much nicer than what the Durmstrang students call Hogwarts students. 

Geno blinks at them and shoves out a hand, “My name is Evgeni, can call me Geno if not speak Russian, please to meet.”

The Beauxbatons girl, takes his hand and shakes it with a surprisingly strong grip.

“Jahanara, call me Jay,” she replies smiling slightly. She’s got a slight accent he can’t make out. “I’m from Pakistan,” she helpfully informs him. Geno nods in understanding, there’s a lot of international students coming to Hogwarts and other schools in Europe due to their parents jobs in the Ministries, Geno being one of them. 

“Am from, Russia, if not already know,” he says. The Durmstrang student looks up and his death glare somehow seems to have increased. 

“Why you not in Durmstrang, then?” he asks vehemently, Geno already hates him. 

“Papa’s job take me to England, besides, Hogwarts better than Durmstrang”, Geno replies. He watches with smug satisfaction as the Durmstrang student’s face goes red. Before anything can go further, Jay holds up a hand.

“Dude, chill, it’s just friendly school rivalry,” she says, shaking her head. “Just tell us your name and where you’re from.”

The student huffs but reluctantly mumbles out, “Vladislav, am from Russia, too.”

“Cool,” Jay says. Geno parrots it and then the room falls into silence again. After a few moments Vladislav opens his mouth but then shuts it again. Geno notices Jay nod approvingly from the corner of his eyes. 

Their awkward silence is interrupted by a commotion outside of the door. There’s a muffled “Mr. Crosby, come back here at once!” and French cursing to which Jay giggles at before Sidney himself bursts into the room wild eyed.

“Oh, Zhenya,” Sidney breathes when those hazel eyes land on Geno, and immediately falls into his arms. “Why did you put your name in the Goblet, you idiot?”

Sid’s voice is muffled but Geno can understand him perfectly.

“I didn’t!” Geno protests. “Is Sasha, he tell me early Christmas present and he shove me to centre of Hall. I’m not know how he do it, but is asshole, don’t know what Nicky sees in him.”

Sid lifts his head from its position on Geno’s chest looks up at Geno solemnly. “I’m going to kill him the next time I see him.”

Geno pales, Sidney Crosby is nothing but a man of his word and Geno decides that even if Sid won’t actually kill Sasha, he might do something else equally scarring and horrible and most importantly, legal. 

“Maybe just not help him with homework anymore”, Geno tries to compromise. Sidney contemplates the idea and then nods. 

“Agreed, that’ll slowly kill him instead. I’ll tell the others to do the same, it’s going to be a joint protest against his actions.”

“Good”, Geno agrees. If he has to suffer, then so does Sasha. 

There’s a cough from behind Sidney and Geno looks over Sidney’s curls, thank god they’re not gelled today, to see Jay smiling behind her hand and Vladislav looking at Sidney with wide eyes. 

“Oh”, Sidney says. He rights himself up but still sticks close to Geno’s side. “Sidney Crosby, pleasure.”

Jay’s grin grows wider “Jahanara, Jay for short, pleasure’s all mine.” Geno feels Sidney visibly stiffen and so does Jay because her grin turns softer. 

“You’re half-veela, aren’t you?” She asks. “My twin’s girlfriend is quarter, so I can kind of tell if someone’s veela or not. Your allure’s stronger, so I’m assuming it’s half, no?”

“Yeah”, Sidney replies, still stiff. And Geno hates that Sidney has to go through this all the time when meeting new people, but he can’t do anything about it. 

“It’s okay, man. I’m not interested or anything. It’s just something I’ve noticed and want to point out. Don’t wanna make wrong assumptions or anything, y'know?” She says. “I’m asexual, so I think you’re really pretty and that’s it, like, I don’t want to have sex with you or anything.”

Wow, she didn’t leave anything out of that explanation, did she?

“Oh”, Sidney says again, and he relaxes against Geno’s side. “That’s, nice? I mean, sorry, it’s just that I’m not used to people not flirting with me”, Sidney winces out.

“Yeah, I get that. My sister’s girlfriend, already gets flirted on everywhere she goes and she’s quarter. Must be worse when being half.”

Sidney nods in agreement but doesn’t say anything else. His attention diverts to Vladislav who’s still looking at Sidney with wide eyes. Sid presses closer to Geno.

“So, um, sorry. It’s just that I had to come here and… stuff”, Sidney explains awkwardly and Geno can’t help but smile fondly. Sidney’s not used to meeting new people, doesn’t like the change and the constant no’s he has to dish out, and it’s clearly evident that his normal conversation skills with a stranger are limited. 

Jay, however, doesn’t seem freaked out by it which is completely understandable. It’s more endearing than weird to see Sidney stumble over explaining himself.

“No problem”, She assures smiling once again. This one’s gone a little more predatory and makes Geno uneasy. “So… are you two, y'know, together?”

“Yeah”, Geno and Sid say at the same time. They turn to look at each other for a second before bursting into giggles. 

“Cool, cool”

Before anyone can say anything else, though, Mcgonagall sweeps into the room. 

“Mr. Crosby”, she scolds “I’ve given you enough time with Mr. Malkin. Now, please, I must ask you to leave at once and to not disturb the Champions anymore.”

Sidney smiles sheepishly at Mcgonagall. 

“Sorry, Headmistress”, he apologises, ever so the polite Canadian boy that he is.

Mcgonagall huffs but there’s a glint of fond amusement in her eyes. “Apology accepted. And do make sure that the First Years are in bed by 9 o'clock at the latest.”

“Yes, Headmistress”, Sidney turns to Geno and tugs him down so he can whisper in Geno’s ear. “Meet me outside the prefects bathroom after, yeah?”

“Yeah, okay”, Geno agrees readily. Sidney pecks a kiss on his cheek, turns to nod at Jay and Vladislav, who’s still staring at Sid, and proceeds to exit the room followed by Mcgonagall.

Once the door is shut, Geno turns to see Vladislav still staring at the spot next to him that Sidney had previously occupied. 

“What the fuck”, he breathes out. Jay raises an eyebrow and turns to Geno.

“He’s Canadian?” She asks completely ignoring Vladislav, when Geno nods in confirmation she grins satisfactorily. “Thought so.”

Summary: (A sequel to Tease) The recent change in Jungkook has you more confused than ever, you really wish he would just tell you why he's acting this way. Maybe if he did you would be able to finally figure out your own feelings. 

A/N: I’m......I recently found out how many followers I have and oh my gosh this is so unexpected. Thank you all so much! I wrote this for all of you because I love each and every person who follows this blog. I might change the title when I wake up tomorrow I just can’t think.

You couldn’t believe what you were doing. 

Here you were spending your precious break time at lunch with the doctor you thought you hated most. The keyword here is thought. 

For the past few weeks he would not leave you alone and spent all of his extra time with you somehow. At first it was overwhelming because here is the best doctor in your department hovering over your shoulder at all times and checking up on you. You thought it was hell because you were sure he would catch every minuscule mistake you made and it just made you so nervous. But then he unbelievable happened. He started complimenting you. 

“Good job on the last surgery [Y/N]!” 

“Wow those stitches look great!” 

“Your patients are all healing up so well you’re doing a really great job!” 

It truly confused you to the point of practically running away when you saw him in the area. It had gotten to the point of you spending your lunch breaks on the roof where he couldn’t find you and ducking behind random columns in the hall whenever you saw him walking past. You couldn't wrap your mind around why he was acting this way and why it was making you feel this way. 

Every time he complimenting you or even smiled at you there was an eruption of butterflies fluttering in the bottom of your stomach.You got nervous and jittery even being in the same room as him, and recently to your horror he had even invaded your dreams with his cute smile and shining eyes. 

You knew very well what these were symptoms of, but you refused to believe you had a crush on Jeon Jungkook of all people. There was no way it was possible. He was your rival during your internship, the two of you were always going head to head there no way a relationship like that could lead to a relationship like....this? Whatever this was. Now that you think about it, what was the kind of relationship you had with Jungkook now? 

“[Y/N] can I have your fries?” His question brought you out of your thoughts and you frowned at him as he reached over to grab at your plate. 

You slid your plate out of his reached and glared at him. “Jeon Jungkook keep your hands off my fries! You always insist on sitting with me during lunch and eating my food!” 

“It tastes better when its yours.” He smiles at you and your heart skips a beat in response. You mentally curse yourself for reacting that way and quickly looked away to avoid eye contact. 

“I-I don’t care how it tastes get your own-Hey!” While you were distracted a sneaky hand snuck its way onto your plate and you caught the end result when Jungkook stuffed the deep fried delights into his mouth, some sticking out as he looked at you amusedly.

“Jeon Jungkook!” You huffed at his irritating smile that was cute even with a mouth full of french fries. “Just take my tray if you want my food so badly! My break is over anyway...” Sighing, you slid your plate over to him and got ups from your seat to go back to work. 

“Wait for me [Y/N] I’ll go with you.” Jungkook jumped up from his seat as well and you stopped in your tracks to frown at him. 

“I thought you wanted to finish your fries?” 

“I’d rather go back to work with you, lets go!” 

He wrapped an arm around your shoulders, causing your heart to thump rapidly against your chest, and you looked up at him hoping your nervousness wasn’t shown on your face. When you reached up and grabbed his hand to move his arm from its offending position on your shoulders he took that chance and grabbed your hand instead, continuing to lead you to the elevators. 

“Jungk-” 

“Lets go! We have patients to attend to!”

It was finally the end of your shift and you were taking a quick rest in the break room before packing up and heading home. The only other person in the room another doctor who was passed out at the table next to the one you were currently sitting at. You enjoyed the silence for once and took the time to think about how your shift had went and the health of your patients. For some reason your thoughts started drifting to that familiar bunny like smile, those dark eyes, and the soft hand that had intertwined with yours earlier that day. 

Jeon Jungkook

Here he goes again, worming himself back into your mind like a pest you can’t seem to get rid of. Sure, he was handsome...and funny sometimes...and charming....but that didn’t give him the right to invade your heart like this! Heart? Did you just? Nope, this was not happening you weren’t going to admit to yourself that you actually felt something for Jeon Jungkook. Never in a million years. 

“Oh! You’re still here. I thought you’d be gone by now.” 

Damn. There goes your heart. At the sound of his voice the traitor began its usual game, speeding up and thumping wildly against your chest. You were afraid that one day it would jump right out. 

“I’m so tired I couldn’t get up for a moment.” You laughed tiredly. 

A look of concern crossed his face as he looked you over, you noticed how the area between his brows scrunched up and how cute his expression was. “Are you getting sick? Maybe you should request some days off.” 

You waved him off, pushing his outreached hand away before it got to touch your forehead. “I’m a doctor I’d know if I was sick.” 

“Then why have you just been sitting here if your shift was over twenty minutes ago? Were you thinking about me?”

You had opened your mouth to argue when a thought came to you, this was the perfect time to ask what was going on. “Actually, I was thinking about you,” Jungkook’s eyebrows shot up, surprised that you would actually think about him much less admit it. “I was wondering why you’ve been acting so weird lately. The compliments, having lunch break with me, spending all of your free time around me. You’ve never acted like this the entire time I’ve known you.”

A different side of Jungkook appeared as he sat back in his chair and you noticed the tips of his ears began to go red. He was silent for a moment and you were wondering if you hit the jackpot with your question. You smiled triumphantly. After all this time you were finally the one to refer him speechless instead of the other way around. It was truly a cause of celebration. Before you got to open your mouth to tease him Jungkook began to talk. 

“A friend told me to try complimenting and actually being nice instead of teasing you all the time and if I spent more time with you we would get closer.” He began fiddling with his hands nervously. 

Wait.

Why did he need to ask a friend for advice about how to get close to you?

Then does that mean...

“Jungkook do you like me?” 

He flinches as the question but covers it up with a teasing smile and a fake laugh. “Of course I like you we work together and we’re kind of friends-” 

“You know what I mean Jungkook!” 

“Yes!” 

“Yes what?” 

“Yes I like you!”

“You like me?” 

“Yes!”

“Will the both of you stop yelling! I have five minutes left of my break and you’re making too much noise for me to actually relax.” The man from earlier that was asleep was now wide awake and glaring at us from the other table. You now recognized him as Dr. Kim, an older more experienced doctor and got a bit embarrassed that you had this conversation in front of him. 

“I’m sorry I forgot you were here.” 

“Just go and kiss and talk loudly outside of this room somewhere!” He grumbled, ignoring you completely as he put his head back on the table and slumped down. 

You looked over at Jungkook and you both wore expressions of embarrassment but were also seconds away from laughing. Quietly, as to not disturb the other doctor again, you stood from your seat and motioned with a nod of your head for jungkook to follow you. The both of you exit into the hallway and you close the door softly behind you before looking at each other and bursting into laughter. 

“Oh that was so embarrassing!” You laughed and buried your face into your hands. 

“You think that was embarrassing! I just practically proclaimed my love for you and Dr. Kim witnessed the whole thing!” Jungkook groaned and ran a hand through his hair, making it messy and successfully pulling your attention to his hair and how soft it looked. 

“You like me!” 

“I do.” 

“I can’t believe it I like you too! Wait...” 

“You like me?” Jungkook looked at you, his eyes wide and shock written clearly on his face. You wanted to melt into the ground, you can’t believe you actually blurted that out right in front of him!

“Yes?” 

“You don’t sound too sure.” 

“I think I do like you? Its just hard to wrap my mind around because we’ve always been in this teasing relationship and suddenly I’m starting to feel things and think you’re cute and want to run my hands through your hair. And despite sometimes being a little too cocky for your own good, you’re good at what you do and charming and nice so your personality is attractive too. Its just confusing, but yeah I think I like you.” A rush of embarrassment came over you and you put your face into your hands again as you back away from jungkook to face the wall. 

You hear him laugh ad you just know he's looking at you with that irritating smirk on his face. “You think I’m cute?” 

“Is that the only thing that stood out to you?” You whirled around to face him, only to be met with him laughing, like you expected he would be. 

“I think you’re cute too! Really cute actually. The cute way you get embarrassed like now, when you get irritated when I tease you and you make that cute face. Especially when you laugh because your laugh is so cute. And your personality is cute too, you’re so nice and you always get so flustered when I tease you, but you love coming up with comebacks too. You’re also really smart and one of the best doctors in our section.” The more he talked the wider your smile became and soon you were practically a puddle. 

You lightly smacked his arm, wanting him to stop. “Okay I get it! We’re both cute!”

“We are cute, and now that we know we both like each other are we something else?” 

“We’re......” You leaned toward him as you looked him in the eyes, causing him to slowly start leaning towards you as well, but as you got sloe enough to almost touch noses you ducked past him and started down the hall. “We’re going to talk about this when I get back!” 

“[Y/N]!” He called as your laugh echoed down the hall. “You’re such a tease!”

So I think I noticed a problem… I do have a bit too much monologue sometimes, where the characters steps through their thought process. It probably sounds a little too dry at times. Apologies… I can only hope that if I consistently continue writing that it’ll improve over time.

Zexal Character(s): Droite, Akari Tsukumo Notes:  For this AU setting, private investigation agencies (such as where Akari and Droite) work at, are able to exchange and transfer case information with the public police. There are some that cannot be accessed by the former, but these are mostly related to government-related types.  And remember when Haruto was talking about learning the 3 laws of robotics? Let’s see how many a robot can break in the span of 5 minutes.

Unlike his manner of professionalism over the phone, the journalist’s voice kept trailing off when he was looking outside towards window of where the shop that she was conversing with him. Akari even checked for herself when she saw his eyes drifting yet again. There was nothing out there, save just a few walking bots and pedestrians.

Other than some few vague sentences, all Akari could do to ask in a polite but curt manner if she could take a few photos of the notes that he had. Adding on to her frustration, the notes were all taken on his pad, leaving her having to just decipher his messy writing later on. Who still used paper these days with everything digital backed into the cloud? There was no way of recovering whatever was marked on there if it was suddenly engulfed in flames, or smeared by paint.

“If they are involved, it can’t just be the Barians,” The journalist said, in the brief moment that Akari had his attention back again. “Being in this profession for so long… more than fifteen years… Don Thousand was involved… You can recognise what a follower of Don Thousand would look like. See, right on - “

Their conversation was cut short at that moment when there wa a sudden ring on his phone. It was an unknown number. His face seemed to have gotten a few shades paler, whiter than his notepad. He picked up the call, saying “yes” a few times. Each one fainter than the other like something was lodged into his throat. Akari was looking at him expectantly but his eyes were trailing all around the shop now, before he stood up from his seat.

“I must go now, sincere apologies about this.” The man had said hurriedly. “Perhaps some other time…”

“Wait!” Akari called as she bolted up from her seat, but the man had already rushed out into the rain, not even putting on his jacket around his arm. And to think that he was the one who had called her and her partner to look into this!

Running a hand through her hair, she huffed before leaving to get home for dinner.

Akari usually started the morning with coffee, as soon as she arrived at the office. Today, she found that Droite had arrived first.

“Morning.” she dropped her motorcycle keys onto her desk before collapsing onto her side of the office. Unlike Droite’s, Akari’s had two extra computer monitors, and much less documents sitting on top. The black-haired woman who was being addressed gave small hints of a smile.

“Same to you.” she said while checking the time her phone. That probably means they were going to be expecting someone coming in today. “You look happy, despite messaging me before about the journalist from yesterday.”

“Yeah, my grandmother made my favourite food. Any new agendas or plans for today?”

“Yes. You remember my friend Gauche?” Droite answered over the usual sounds that followed the start of their workday happened. The computers turning on. The setting up of the air conditioner, soon followed by the repeated clicks for voicemail and email.

Akari’s answer was a short affirmative “yes”. She had only met him once, as Droite’s old colleague, when the other woman was working as a security police. He seemed to be about their same age, yet she hadn’t seen someone that passionate about heading to apprehending criminals on the run.

“I’ve looked over what you sent to me last night, about one of the witnesses at the recent Barian incidents. Gauche is also working on the same cases in the police department, and said that we can pool information together.” she glanced once more at the time. “He’s coming over in about an hour.”

Akari gave a light hum to acknowledge, and there was a small alerting sound from the bell. Someone was outside the office building. Any clients would have to be let in by the office occupiers themselves to enter.

“Clients already at this time?” Akari leaned back on her seat as Droite opened up to check through the visual transceiver.

“Seems so, and an unfamiliar one.” the other woman muttered. “Though it seems more like they had sent an errand bot.” Whoever it was, they weren’t exactly comfortable with showing themselves. The last time that had happened was with a lady that was hiding in her home in fear, before the stalker had been apprehended. At the very least, one didn’t have to always keep a professional and polite manner when talking with a robot.

Akari turned back to her own desk, deciding that she should just focus on her own work. She can leave Droite to do the talking, as the one who actually had more experience in this field. Previously, Akari was nothing more than a researcher in robotics and software engineering. Given with the high use of media and technology, her skills proved to be capable of finding traces of criminal activities.Every once in a while, there’d be more trouble, but it was a more stable job than having to think about what to do after a research contract has ended.

The first thing she had focused on sorting through, was the recorded conversation with the man from yesterday. The first was the notes to go through. It seemed to be of a rather new notebook, and yet there were already smudges and stains blemishing on the edges.

Zooming in a little, she squinted a little at the minute handwriting. There were a few pages on Barians, written in black ink. There were a few in blue. Those pages had a large “Hexea” marked as the topic title. She raised her eyebrows for a moment at whatever the word that meant. And seemingly it didn’t seem to show any results related to any of the recent cyber security incidents either.

Was it related to Don Thousand? Akari leaned back into her seat. It left the question of what keywords she should use to search. It could send her looking through meaningless rumours on forum sites or to actual records of past articles from the historical museum.

“Hm… odd,“ Droite’s voice broke Akari’s thoughts. “Did that robot still hasn’t arrived, Did it get lost?”

Indeed, already 10 or so minutes had passed. Their office sat on the 2nd floor, the not-so-crowded elevator would not have taken more than two minutes at this early in the morning. There was no way to miss the signals on the walls either.

A faulty robot? Even so, Akari knew very well that the errors that an A.I. carrying commands would be much different from a human’s logic.

“That shouldn’t… ” Akari’s voice had trailed off at that point, but Droite had picked up what she had meant. Being the one more experienced in the field and extra-cautious, she raised her hand as both women faced the door.

No sounds could be heard, until there was a soft ring of the door bell. Every office had one, when someone without the actual electronic key password wanted to enter.

“Come in,” Droite tailored to her professional tone. “The door is not locked.”

The door slid to the side automatically, and in walked the figure that Droite had seen through the camera had shown. At a glance it seemed a girl. Though on a closer inspection, it was more of a figure of a child with longer hair than a typical boy. With thin artificial limbs of the size of an elementary student, the robot had walked in.

These faces are becoming more and more realistic and human-like, Akari commented. If it wasn’t for the ball-jointed limbs, it would have been difficult to tell that the fluid movements did not belong to a human.  

“Thank you, detective” the robot said in a perky voice.

There was another whirling sound behind it as the door slid closed again, before the robot had twisted its head just a small angle. By this time, Akari’s full attention was on it. Robots were able to communicate, but the facial movement seemed far more expressive than any of the ones she had encountered before.

Droite cleared her throat. “You can tell us what your operator has sent us here for now.” It would have sounded perhaps impolite without the word “please”. But this wasn’t human, it was the norm to use the general flat tone anyone would use like voice commands to a machine.

The crack of a grin grew a tad wider on the youthful face. Akari reminded herself as she looked at the robotic joints that this was a robot, not a mischievous brat. “Operator? Sorry? What do you mean?” the head tilted more.

“Your operator. You had said that you were sent on behalf to consult about a case, did you not?” the dark-haired woman said, emphasizing on each word slowly compared to last time.

“Oh. Sorry, that was a lie.” the robot laughed, not apologetic in the least. It was at this moment that it had lifted its hands away from the pants pocket, like surrendering towards Droite who was pointing out the revolver towards it. “I’m here for a case. The one that you had picked up on yesterday, I believe. You’ve made a mistake. ”

“Answer my question first.” Droite’s eyes were narrowed in concentration at her target. “What are you?”

“A robot. Made of plastic and metal.” The unfaltering smile seemed to be like a challenge for Droite to pull the trigger. It lifted its arms a little wider. From the wrist, Akari caught the glimpse of the logo of the Heartland Robotics research team. It was one of the standard bots. “My model ELCT3405.”

“A bot talking in such a manner?” Droite’s voice hardened to a warning, the ends of her thumb brushing over the trigger-release button. “You think-”

Akari, who hadn’t been in the view of the other two, had suddenly sprang forward two steps. Her hand grabbed around the neck of the bot as her knee impacted collided into the midsection. The robot was knocked off balance and the two fell forwards to the ground, but Akari’s other arm shot out. Her palm burned when it scraped the carpet but she kept her in a superior position over the toppled robot.

The artificial body rebounded up for a fraction, but she dug her knee into the lower back of the robot, pressing it further into the ground.

The woman’s fingers grabbed aside the hair at the back, to look for the electronic port. There was a glisten of silver beneath the hair. And in the next moment the robot’s head whipped around completely around the other way. The face plastered with the same gleeful smile twisted completely around was almost like a demented doll from a horror film.. It opened its mouth, speaking almost audible like a whisper.

“And… boom.”

A deafening, loud bang exploded in Akari’s right ear. A hot, heavy force sent her off the floor. Her back crashed into something, knocking the air out of her lungs.

“Akari!”

Someone called out. She could barely make out Droite’s voice. Uncurling herself, she clenched her teeth while sitting up to see heavy smoke in the room. The desk that Droite had sat was behind her, the thing that she had collided into.

With pain in her side, Akari pushed herself up. Droite did the same. In the corner where Akari’s desk was, the robot was standing where her desk was, with a short white cable extending from its neck to the monitor.

From the twisted angle of the head sitting on top of the shoulders, its eyes acting as cameras that were focused on the two women.

“You’ve gotten onto a case irrelevant to you both… “ it said, the voice was getting more and more high-pitched. The pupils were glowing red, like a forewarning. “Even investigators shouldn’t take intellectual property that is irrelevant.”

Akari darted forward, but the distance didn’t close. Someone grabbed from the back of her dress shirt. She couldn’t see Droite’s face as two collided into the glass of the large window. Glass shattered and the two fell through. Shards of glass flew everywhere in the midst of the smoke. The last laugh that the robot had was burned in both women’s mind before there was a sudden explosion again.

Droite’s hand grabbed onto the edge of the window sill to keep the two from falling. Seeing how she was struggling to keep both of them up from falling to the ground. Just in time, Akari’s hand grabbed onto the other. Smoke continued to continue to sliver out from the broken window, climbing up like snakes. Over the sounds of the fire Akari strained to hear if there was anything else coming from the office.

Down below in the street, there was yells and frantic murmurs from the pedestrians. Over the distance she could hear the sirens.

15 minutes felt like hours before help had came to get the two female investigators down. Akari didn’t cry out loud, but her face showed how her arm screamed in relief. It was thanks to the fire brigade that had put out the remaining fire. The fire brigade members walked through the corridor, with the women following close behind as they stepped through the second floor, back to their office door.

The half closest to the door and Akari’s usual workbench was completely destroyed. She didn’t use vulgar language, but she cursed as she saw that the harddisks had been heated in the fire. If it wasn’t for the Droite kneeling over the broken parts of the self-destructed robot, the other woman would have perhaps tried to swing the limbs towards the wall in frustration.

The blasted thing had made sure that all the devices, her camera, audio recorder and computer all were crisped. All of them contained her only copies of yesterday’s interview.

“The fire alarms and sprinklers were switched off with an unknown authority key…” Droite muttered to herself. Had it been the work of the robot? If she didn’t know what was fiction, she would have thought it was a human concious within a robot shell. “Hey, Akari, how long would it take a robot to decrypt the security passwords around here?”

Her partner didn’t answer, as Akari was typing viciously on her phone with a look of absolute rage.

“You said something?”

“I’m asking, if it was possible for the robot to have turned off the fire sprinklers while we were waiting for it to come up. Right before it decided to set explosives right at our door.”

“I don’t know,” Akari huffed. Droite knew that she was annoyed over the fact that her arms and hip were hurting, and the unrecoverable lost information. “Hacking isn’t my specialty” She held out her phone for the other to see. “Anyway, I’ve found the model.”

On the screen , illuminated was a bright picture sitting on the right-hand corner of a news article. A new crack was running across the screen, but the face image was undisturbed. It was the same robot, standing in front of a building among a few other students. Without the pale ball-joint limbs, it would have looked just like the other children.

Right underneath were several words as the caption  Heartland’s newest A.I. undergoing tests, Electronica.

Fanfic Writer Asks

1) How old were you when you first starting writing fanfiction? I started around 2011, so I was around 13 years old at the time.

2) What fandoms do you write for and do you have a particular favourite if you write for more than one? I am currently writing for The Owl House fandom, but I am intending on broadening my scope to She-Ra as well as Lord of the Rings, Zelda, and ATLA bc gay fantasy brain go brrr.

3) Do you prefer writing OC’s or reader inserts? Explain your answer. I prefer to write original characters myself. Y/N stuff is not exactly my forte. It gives me more control as to how I know the characters will act depending on their own characterization and backstory.

4) What is your favourite genre to write for? I actually really prefer to write really tense stuff, despite my misleading username. I live for the conflict of the moment and it does lean into some pretty angsty stuff sometimes. I mean, look at Soul Bound. However, I also do like writing light-hearted comedies as well as some fluff whenever I can get around to it. My heart yearns and so too must the romantic tension.

5) If you had to choose a favourite out of all of your multi-chaptered stories, which would it be and why? I really only have one that is published, but it is definitely the one that I do like the most. Soul Bound was originally a story that was going to stand on its own. It was set in a world that I created meticulously from the ground up, taking inspirations from Lord of the Rings, Legend of Zelda, ATLA among other things. I do have other multi-chapter projects in the works that I absolutely love, however out of my published babies, it's SB 100%.

6) If you had to delete one of your stories and never speak of it again, which would it be and why? The Legion of Lenny Faces was a crack fic that I just posted for funsies. I wouldn't mind getting rid of that.

7) When is your preferred time to write? Since I am starting to work again, I'm thinking about starting work on my writing around 2PM. It's normally around that time that I start anyway, so it works out.

8) Where do you take your inspiration from? Movies, music, sometimes even my own songs that I write. Inspiration really comes from anywhere that hits me. However, it hits especially hard whenever I make a playlist for a particular mood that I want a story to have.

9) In your xxx fic, what’s your favourite scene that you wrote? In Soul Bound, my current favorite scene that I have written was the scene in the chapter Confrontations with the scene between Amity and Odalia. I essentially channeled everything I ever wanted to say to my abuser into Amity's words and it was the most cathartic thing that I ever wrote.

10) In your xxx fic, why did you decide to end it like that? Did you have an alternative ending in mind?In The Bean that I wrote for April Fools, while it definitely is a crack fic, I still wanted it to read like an Owl House episode or at least an Owl House short. However, I did think of an alternate ending in mind where the bean just kept on multiplying until it flooded the entirety of the BI. However, That would mean by those rules, duplicating all non-living things on the isles.

11) Have you ever amended a story due to criticisms you’ve received after posting it? I split an entire chapter into two pieces and rewrote another one just because of criticisms that made complete sense to me. In all honesty, I did blame the burnout, however all of that and the small break I did take helped a lot to reinvigorate my love for this story that I am writing.

12) Who is your favourite character to write for? Why? Skara. 100%, she is babey and I love her.

13) Who is your least favourite character to write for? Why? Gonna be honest, while I love King as a character, I don't exactly like writing him. I feel like if I wrote him as more of an active part of the story, it would detract entirely from the whole thing. Second would be my OC, Robert Almade solely because I feel like he can be much more fleshed out, but also because there are parts of his character that I did write that just don't make complete sense to me. This should be worked out later.

14) How did you come up with the title for the xxx? - You can ask about multiple stories. For Soul Bound, I literally asked a Discord server for ideas because all the titles I did think of were shit XD. However, I recently came up with the title for my Skarlow punk band AU, Skara and the Wallflower, based on the book/movie The Perks of Being a Wallflower as well as band names in general.

15) If you write OC’s, how do you decide on their names? I normally think about the themes the character embodies and how they may change and grow throughout the story, and then I translate specific keywords into different languages and trim them in a way that sound like a name.

16) How did you come up with the idea for xxx?[Ask me about a specific story]

17) Post a line from a WIP that you’re working on.“Oh, sure! Protect me from him, but let Amity take the brunt of it and possibly die? What if she is dead, Eda? What if I can’t see her again?”

18) Do you have any abandoned WIP’s? What made you abandon them? I'd rather not talk about it.

19) Are there any stories that you’ve written that you’d really love to do a sequel to? Possibly I may have one for Skara and the Wallflower if I feel up to it, however Soul Bound is going to be a one-and-done deal.

20) Are there any stories that you wished you’d ended differently? Yes!

21) Tell me about another writer(s) who you admire? What is it about them that you admire? @lunanight2012 @quirkquartz @descendantofthesparrow

22) Do you have a story that you look back on and cringe when you reread it? Any story that I haven't published.

23) Do you prefer listening to music when you’re writing or do you need silence? I do listen to music just to set in the general mood and once I get going, I can go either with or without it.

24) How do you feel about writing smutty scenes? I can write smut. However I don't ever feel comfortable publishing smut. It really just isn't for me.

25) Have you ever cried whilst writing a story? YES! I ABSOLUTELY HAVE!!!! SO MANY TEARS BECAUSE OF THE ANGST!!!

26) Which part of your xxx fic was the hardest to write? This most recent chapter was actually the hardest to write because I was already so scared when writing Scrying of the Soul that when I started writing this one, I didn't know how to settle down with this whole thing. I knew Luz needed to process her trauma before I introduced the ghost, but exactly how I felt like I had trouble with.

27) Do you make a general outline for your stories or do you just go with the flow? I have a varied mix of ways I outline. Yes, I do have a list of bullet points about what major plot points go where, but really that's all that comes together before I start writing. Soul Bound is completely plotted out in the very broad strokes, but the rest is just improvisation.

28) What is something you wished you’d known before you started posting fanfiction? That writing would be the single most fun thing that I have ever done and to be fair while I do want my stories to be the best they can be, just the fact that I'm getting them out there makes me happy.

29) Do you have a story that you feel doesn’t get as much love as you’d like? Gonna be honest, my one-shots don't get a lot of love, but it is entirely understandable.

30) In contrast to 29 is there a story which gets lots of love which you kinda eye roll at? Ya know, Imma just say a song title that I wrote that many people love that I've grown to just not like. Ticking Time Away.

31) Send me a fic recommendation and I’ll post it for my followers to see! (The asker is to send the rec, not the answerer)Yeah, sure!

32) Are any of your characters based on real people? The way I characterize Odalia is based on a mix of what is already established. That and a heavy doseage of my abuser and their mindset. Which is kind of why it felt cathardic writing that scene in Conflicts.

33) What’s the biggest compliment you’ve gotten? Honestly, whenever I make a revision and it is heavily praised by either a reader if I edited an already published chapter or a beta reader if I had revised a particular scene they didn't like. I thrive off of any good critique and it makes me want to do better.

34) What’s the harshest criticism you’ve gotten? I mean there are people who wouldn’t read just because what I wrote was a ghost fic, but tbh it wasn't even that harsh.

35) Do you share your story ideas with anyone else or do you keep them close to your chest? I normally share with other writers when I'm really excited so I can bounce ideas off of them, however specific story elements I keep close to my chest because that part feels like my personal touch moreso than the general idea.

36) Can you give us a spoiler for one of your WIP’s? HAHA NICE TRY BEYOTCH YOU JUST HAVE TO READ IT!! (Other than the fact that Amity does get her body back, but that's already been promised.)

37) What’s the funniest story you’ve written? The BEAN

38) If you could collab with any other writer on here, who would it be? (Perhaps this question will inspire some collabs!) If you’re shy, don’t tag the blog, just name them. I would honestly be willing to collab with anybody from the Good Witch Society on Discord. As well as my partner which we already talked about quite a few ideas that we had for stories.

39) Do you prefer first, second or third person? So, I do love writing inner monologue, however if I was ever staying in one character's perspective, it would just feel way too limiting. I prefer third person omniscient so I can at least give the reader insight into what's going on in everybody's heads.

40) Do people know you write fanfiction?IRL, yeah. But I have established that I am using this to exercise my own writing skills.

41) What’s you favourite minor character you’ve written? Emira I would actually consider a minor character in the grand scope of my story, however I absolutely adore writing her.

42) Song fic - What made you decide to use the song xxx for xxx.I write my own songs and to be completely fair, it was really spontaneous in Soul Bound, but I found out a plot point that could definitely weave in extremely well within the story.

Skara and the Wallflower being a punk band AU will definitely be a songfic with all original songs.

43) Has anyone ever guessed the plot twist of one of your fics before you posted it? Actually, nobody has ever really guessed a plot twist yet.

44) What is the last line you wrote? This really can't be good.

45) What spurs you on during the writing process? I already really adore the stories that I write and my goals are to write them and get them out there. I think about how the characters react and how things can go wrong in a way that makes sense.

46) I really loved your xxx fic. If you were ever to do a sequel, what do you think might happen in it?[Ask me for a specific story]

47) Here’s a fic title - insert a made up title. What would this story be about?[Ask me]

48) What’s your favourite trope to write? Friends to Lovers, hands down.

49) Can you remember the first fic you read? What was it about? To be completely honest, the first fic I read was a Zelda fic. I forgot what most of the plot was about, but it did involve Link and Zelda going into Termina and meeting up with this original character who did everything he can to fuck with the both of them. It's very vague, but I absolutely loved it and I never remembered it updating.

50) If you could write only angst, fluff or smut for the rest of your writing life, which would it be and why? I'd have to cave and say angst. I like to have conflict in my stories, but I never like to have it be complete brooding. Just some light trauma, you know?
