Tw: spoilers for sure
Hello! You can call me "The Chief", and I'm here to take a simple test!
Recently, I've started to have an obsession with the game Master Detective Archives: Rain code, and I've started drawing Makoto Kagutsuchi and Yuma Kokohead quite often, so I want to share, I want to see what you think, I evolved my style over time, because I try to find something that I like when I start drawing a character each time. My English is not the best because I use a translator, and my interpretation of the characters may be different from yours. Consider my drawings as alternate versions.
Immediate warning: I use easypose and pose bases, my drawings are bad, I use gacha, I make bad edits, I hope my stuff doesn't make you uncomfortable. There will be some suggestive drawings!! Game spoilers, of course, and there's a crossover games.
First drawing:
The first drawing I made of these two was a conversation with my friends on discord about: "why is Makoto's hair a different color?" My friends and I started discussing color theory, like, Yuma's hair looks like blue, and Makoto's looks like yellow.
Ignore the Brazilian text.
I love making him look angry, because I see him as a tsundere without his mask, and super suspicious of people, he only trusts Yuma. These first drawings, I was still looking for my style of how to draw his hair.
RAIN CODE / Undertale
Ok, I'm probably the only person making this comparison, let's get to the context:
I started to see Makoyuma as a Charisk 2.0 (Chara x Frisk, Undertale ship that I've always loved since I was 11 years old), And also, Chara = Makoto, and Frisk = Yuma is very good for me, Frisk is always interpreted as pacifist in the fandom, and Chara as genocide. I like to see Chara as a tsundere, my tsundere and mischievous Makoto is not cute ? I'm obsessed and it's your fault, guys. /j
The part there with Shuichi with Makoto and Yuma, is supposed to be a reference to KFC, Kris from Deltarune being interpreted as Chara and Frisk's older sibling, Charisk being seen as family is normal because Toriel adopts Frisk too, This part is more for those who like Makoyuma as a platonic and I'm fine with that, memes about siblings are always funny. Maybe I'll do more of this AU? I loved the concept of Chara!Makoto, Chara is my favorite character anyway.
Note: my age headcanon for Yuma being 23 may have changed.
I may like Makoyuma and be obsessed with them, but their other ships are good too, the other characters are interesting. (I also like Shinigami and Kurumi)
I saw a really good analysis about Izuru and Makoto being opposites of each other, so I made this drawing here, what do you guys think? Ignore Nagito being gay in the background.
ARGH, I don't know how to draw the floral pattern on Makoto's suit, I'm sorry.
I'm still going to post part two of this blog because it's not finished yet, Tumblr doesn't let me post any more photos, what a pain.

༻⋆Little Red Riding Hood You Know More Than You Should⋆༺
˚ʚ♡ɞ˚ Capitano recognizes your ancient name before he recognizes you. Ororon thinks it's about time to confess his feelings to his childhood friend. You just wanted to protect your homeland.
⁀➷ Warnings: Yandere Behavior, Stalking, Possessiveness, Reader has a pyro vision.
₊𝄞₊⁺ Tejano Blue By CAS
⋆ ˚。⋆ Bless your heart, make you part of my life forever ~ CAS
.✦── °❀⋆ .🔥.⋆❀°── .✦
It had started with Ororon.
With the Chrysanthemum he delicately weaved into your hair.
Red red red like the vision that burns at your hip.
Red like the boy-heart you wished to carve out.
It had ended with the Capitano.
With verglas weaving across your arms from his most intimate touch.
Blue, blue, blue like the creature that claimed to know you.
Blue like the veins that harbor such a melancholy legacy.
The chipped wood of the basket pierces your palm, tiny splinters pricking at soft flesh. You don't fully register the twinge; the pain is too silken, too delicate. Instead, you tighten your fist around the wooden handle daring the splinters to puncture, to draw blood. At least then you'd have a reason to visit Ororon, a reason to pry open his door and interrupt his precious isolation.
You'd like to forget about him.
The ignorant boy with the mismatched eyes.
Leave him to rot in his secluded cabin.
But it's all so hard to shake the saccharine memories of the all too lanky boy who used to hold your hand as you played hide and seek with Iktomisaurs in the forest.
Granny Itztli had requested ingredients for a ritual sermon taking place two moons from now. Nightshades and Quenepa Berrys and sand from the cost. "Have you talked to Ororon recently?" Granny asks, her brows furrowed in annoyance or worry or some other emotion too masked to fully read. You shake your head, gingerly plucking the ingredients from your basket and sprawling them across the table. "He hasn't been returning any of my letters, or even answering the tribesman's requests for his vegetables. I swear if that boy-"
You can feel her anger slipping out, the tendrils of her powers lashing at the air, slithering across the walls. You gulp, grasp tightening once more against your basket's handle. The wood scraps at your skin grounding you as you let out a shaky breath. "I'll check on him for you granny," you blurt out trying to plaster a desperate smile across your face. Citlali's eyes soften as she looks at you taking in your taut stance. "I'd always wished for him to pick you as his bride." She mused hand waving the air as if to dispel her anger like smoke. "you'd have been the perfect wife for my foolish grandson, someone to keep an eye on him and his whimsy wills of inanity." She sighs ushering you to the door. "Still I suppose it's not too late."
You turn on your heels defiance ripe on your tongue. Ororon had once been a dear friend, a brother. And while the memories are wrapped in golden velvet and honey. You'd much rather pluck the nails from your fingers than marry that weirdo. But before the protest could be launched the door is solemnly slammed in your face.
You fasten the cloak along your neck, pull the hood over your head
before making your way to the lone cabin in the woods. Skipping along the broken road swinging your empty basket.
The cabin itself is petit and serene, a pretty little heap of wood and spray paint with its renowned vegetable garden stretching the whole diameter. "Ororon," you call out, surprised at how bitter his name tastes. Rotton, almost forgotten. "Ororon," you knock at the door.
Four knocks.
Four pounds.
All accompanied by the bitter name spilling from behind your teeth.
But there is no answer, nothing outside the peaceful lull of the breeze and the distant shrikes of Yumkasaurs.
Nothing.
Well, maybe it's for the best.
You'd have shown him your blistered palm should he have answered. Shown him the blood and silently prayed he'd hold your hand and bandage your wound with all the tenderness of an eight-year-old boy bandaging his best friend's bleeding knee.
It's only when you've started back on the road, heading towards the grand stadium, that you hear something—an icy omen whispering along the horizon. You look around, greeted by nothing but Natlan's nature. Slowly, you start to leave the path, trudging through grass and marching up the little hills, following the distant chill in the air.
What was it Granny always said about straying off the path?
Something about tragedy and trouble waiting beyond the trees.
Only this time, trouble -or rather tragedy- lays behind a set of rocks, half a mile from the cabin. That's when you finally see them. The chill in the air has grown harsher here, biting at your bare arms. You pull your hood further over your head, wrapping the rest of the cape around yourself in a bid for warmth. From the rock you've concealed yourself behind, you can hear two men speak.
Ororon stands before a man, no not a man. Such a human word could not describe the terrifying thing that loomed outside the sun's reach.
Your ears perk at the low timbre of his growl. The monster spews blasphemy, sacrilege, against your dear archon. Calling her a coward for not using the gnosis, calling her inept.
You feel his words cutting through you, lacrations running deep. Your body is on fire your vision boling by your side. What's worst is that Ororon listens, humming along in acknowledgment. You can taste the molten anger stinging the roof of your mouth, feel the embers burning your tongue. Your hand covers your mouth, nails sinking into your cheek to avoid permitting the frustration to break free and blowing your cover.
You turn swiftly, using the cover of rocks and trees to shadow your escape.
Desperately dashing for the path that'll lead you back to your village. Granny Itztli and the tribe leader must hear of this. They must know that Ororon has joined the Fatui and is planning to steal the Archon's gnosis.
The problem, however, may have been the red cape you'd draped yourself in, its bright color catching the wrong sun rays at the wrong time. Luminous enough to catch the captain's attention.
You feel the world slipping, sunlight giving way to a ghoulish purple glow. Your feet hit the battered pavement of the path, right before the world turns to black.
You scream just as something pulls you away...
You've been here before, several times in fact. This is the night kingdom or at least an astral realm within the night kingdom. Your body -your real body- is probably laying limp in the grass being licked by some saurian.
"(y/n), what are you doing here?" Ororon's voice is muffled, distant. A cloud scraping across the rougher edges of the sky. His ghastly apprehension hovers behind you, you can feel his chilled breath on your neck.
You try to speak, to answer. But the words never leave your mouth. You must remember that the shadow world has rules. That you can not move with your legs or speak with your tongue. You form the words like bubbles floating in the air. Waiting for them to pop, to unleash your voice amongst the gloom.
"I was looking for you, granny's worried. Apparently, you've disappeared."
His nails scrape at your neck. Fitting the delicate bones between the cusp of his palm. "But I'm right here" he whispers in your ear, resting his chin on your shoulder. "Sorry, I wasn't there to greet you. I've been...busy".
"Ororon" The voice echoes across the cavern, loud and disturbing. You feel frost leak from every syllable. Your eyes widen as the black-clad monster marches forward body rigid embodying authority and discipline in every move.
Is this how everyone from Snezhnaya looks?
Taut and stiff and malicious?
Draped in furs and armor.
Ominous and cruel.
"This is my friend (y/n) we grew up together. Isn't she cute Capitano?" Ororon ends the statement with a mock peck to your neck. Despite its fleeting nature you still wince at the invasion.
You don't recall Ororon being so bold, so satirizing. Has the folly of the fatui bled into him? Rotted his essence and painted it anew?
"Get rid of her, we haven't the time to waste on such..." The man, no the nightmare. Stops in front of you. His bulky clothes remind you of the Tatankasaurs that roam the sandy southwest.
The captain's mask is sheer black. Murkey candance that hides his mysterious visage. But you notice the jerky way his head tilts down the way you can't escape the strange pierce of his unseable eyes.
"Do I know you" it's phrased as an order, a demnad.
Tell me what you are, what you're supposed to mean to me.
But there is no answer to greet it. Nothing apart from an unsteady silence. You can not know this ice-cold man. From behind you Ororon stiffens, "Do you know the captain." he asks, a silver of betrayal lacing his words. You only shake your head, narrowing your eyes to try and pry beyond the abyss of his mask.
Capitano's hand grips at your fingers pulling them up to his mask. Your heart stops as you see him bow his head, the cold of his helmet biting into your flesh. You hear the kiss like an arrow piercing the ever-looming eeriness of the night kingdom.
Capitano utters your name.
Rolls it around his mouth trying to savor the nostalgia.
Trying to crack open every syllabus and taste its familiarity.
"(y/n)..."
Your body lays limb amongst the grass, from atop the green hill Capitano observes your sleeping form. His eyes trace every curve and crevasse of your body jotting each detail to memory.
You look like so ethereal like this. Blood red amid the green and gold of the prairie. The humor of it all isn't lost on him after all he's partaken in more than his fair share of carnage. And that's exactly what you look like, a beautiful corpse laying in her puddle of blood. A macabre laceration layed upon Natlan's corse.
The sun beats down. Its rays too warm and treasonous.
It's only then that Capitano realizes where he's seen you before.
This exact scene, the blood pooling from beneath, the body lying amidst the grass, the sun blessing the slayed warrior in its light.
He knows you...
You don't remember waking up. Don't recall commanding your stiff muscles to move. Nor do you recall the first sight your wry eyes landed upon.
All you remember is running.
Blurred greens and reds of the scenery rushing by.
Granny must know of this.
The tribe must know of this.
Ororon is a traitor. A conspirator in a plot against Mavurika.
You're not quite sure why your heart stings when you think of this.
Your mouth is dry, ash coating your lips as Citlali glares down at you. Ororon's face flashes behind your eyes. You see him everywhere. Hear his gentle voice shushing you. Your ears are ringing, his voice whispering how much he's missed you, how much he wants you by his side once more.
Citlali says something, you think she's scolding you for traversing the pathway. She's gone in the next blink, essence lingering in a spinning room. Ororon kneels in front of you. No, not Ororon just some spectre wearing his face.
Or maybe it's his astral projection. Maybe he can't let you utter a word of what you saw.
"Just keep quiet darling. I promise this will all make sense soon." His fingers spark when they grace your cheek. Solid and spirit all at once. You try to touch his hand, to sink the sparks inside you, to feel Ororon once more. Instead, your finger collides with your own soft flesh.
The colors are chipping away.
Someone is calling your name.
Ororon or Citlali?
Maybe they've always been the same.
Why is the room spinning?
Why is it so dark...
You shouldn't be out. The sun is too harsh, merciless. You ring your palm across your basket's handle letting the friction rub the flesh raw.
Granny had warned you to stay inside. To avoid Ororon and whatever else you'd seen. But you can't let this go, the words may die upon your tongue but there must be evidence hidden somewhere. Evidence that you can present to the pyro archon, evidence that could save everything.
"Did you really miss me that much?" His voice is sharper than any arrow from his bow. Ororon stands blocking your path the captain hovering beside him.
Weren't you always told the path would be safe?
Capitano reaches out, metal fingers wrapping around your fragile wrist he pulls you to him, dark mask peering beyond you. Trying to piece you together. From behind you feel Ororon's lips sneaking up your neck. You scream, a shriveled sound. "Didn't you come all this way just to see us?" Ororon asks between open-mouthed kisses, you writher between their bodies desperate to escape. Tears flowed from your shiny eyes.
You're so pretty when you cry Ororon feels bad for admitting that. But he can't help but admire how innocent and helpless you look, trapped between two monsters.
It's only now that he notices your red hood is adorned with embroidered Chrysanthemum, for a moment Ororon thinks it has something to do with flowers he used to braid into your hair. Back when he'd been too young to fully understand destiny and you'd been too young to understand legacy.
"I came to find evidence of your betrayal." You spit, free hand reaching into your basket to try to find your ancient name. Tears trickle from your eyes as the captain leans closer. Your fingers finally graze the forged feather and you pry it out, holding it to your chest, feeling its power coursing through you.
Your elbow collides harshly with Ororon's rib, as he tumbles backward you gain enough space to sidekick the captain. Only for it to be blocked by his iron-clad hand. The metal makes your bones ring a sharp pain that leaves your leg numb.
"You bear an ancient name?" Capitano asks, skeptical. You roll your eyes despite your better judgment. Capitano releases your wrist, instead reaching out to try and grab your ancient name. In the millisecond of freedom, you stalk backward before sprinting back to the tribe. Your basket forgotten at the captain's feet.
"she bears the ancient name Ayizu," Ororon says, still clutching his side.
Capitano swallows the information. Letting the sharp edges nick at his throat. He'd had been uncertain before despite all the parallels.
But now the shock was rolling through him like lightning bolts. That's why you looked so familiar. Not only did you bare Ayizu's name but there was no doubt in Capitano's mind that you were one of his descendants.
The captain chuckles a mirthless noise. The irony feels like a blistering burn blooming upon his rotting flesh. "She's quite loyal." he begins, blacked gaze traveling to Ororon. "She'd make a valuable asset in our quest to save Natlan. Fetch her for me will you Ororon?" It's nothing less than an order one that Ororon may be a bit too keen on fulfilling.
"Oh and Ororon, we need to start you on a training agenda. I fear you are the most pathetic warrior Natlan has ever seen."
Ororon's eyes sunken before traversing up the captain's imposing form.
"Yes sir" he mumbles, biting his lips to avoid moaning at the deliciously sharp pain you've gifted him.
It's dark again,
You let the sharp wood of your basket cut into your palm. Relishing in the familiar feeling as blood mars the wooden handle. When did your basket return? You could have sworn you'd abandoned it with your attackers,
The path beneath your feet is cracked and broken. Smeared in ice and ectoplasm. Still, you walk forward into the abyss. There's nowhere else to go.
You expected them to be there. To see their towering forms amidst the darkness. Instead, you see them lounging between the blacked boulders.
Soldiers fresh from the fight. You don't enquire about their endeavors about the horrors you're sure they've inflected upon your land. But before you can fully walk past Capitano grabs your wrist and pulls you into his lap. "Stop" You struggle to break free, only for him to grab your chin and force your eyes onto his faceless visage. "So you're the descendent of my old friend? The inheritor of his noble name." You feel bile creeping up your throat. "Don't insult my ancestor, he'd never associate with the likes of you." you spite.
Capitano chuckles and signs, pulling his mask up a smidge to reveal decayed flesh. You gasp, an opportunity he ceases to pull you into a deep kiss, teeth biting and tearing at your soft lips, his holed tongue running over your teeth. You try to scream to cry, suffocating from the floral-scented rot. When the captain finally pulls back you run your fingers over pained lips smearing the blood across your cheek and chin.
"You should smile more" Ororon teases nipping at your ear until you wince, his hands move up and down your hips squeezing every so often. He's never been this bold before. You blame the Fatuis staring down at you. Blame the Outlander and his weird ways, somehow the irony is utterly lost on you.
"Please just let me go" you beg, your body is on fire your vision pulsing once more. "You're a captain surely you must understand why I'm so eager to protect my people from you?" Ororon laughs, littering your cheek with tiny kisses. "I understand," Capitano responds, his fingers dabbing your blood-covered lips. "I'm desperate to save Natlan too." He brings the red-coated digit to his mouth, sucking softly.
"We all want to protect Natlan" Ororon chips in. "That's why you should join us, honor your ancient name." You shake your head, almost as if you're shaking the nightmare away. "There is no honor in what you're doing."
You feel something around your neck. Metalic fingers wrapping tightly around your throat. Clutching tighter and tighter. With his other hand, the Captain removes his mask.
You scream...
The room is cold, freezing.
Your calloused palm squeezes trying to feel the handle of your wooden basket. When your nails only dig into your own skin, you awaken, head darting trying to find your precious basket.
It's on the table...
You don't have a table by your bed.
Beside you, someone tightens their hold on your waist pulling you into an icy stiff chest. Captiano's breath is cold, his voice gruff with sleep as he whispers little adorations into your ear. You're only now realizing Ororon lying in front of you, his lithe fingers playing with your neck.
No not your neck. There's something wrapped around your throat, no one the cold was unbearable, this "necklace" must be made of pure cyro. "You look so pretty like this." Ororon mumbles, daring to connect his lips to yours in a sheepish, sloppy attempt at a kiss. You wrangle your head to the side breaking the pathetic kiss. Behind you, you feel Capitano's chest rumble in laughter.
"Really Ororon must I teach you everything?" Capitano pushes Ororon's head roughly until his lips are on yours, "Open your mouth" he commands. To which both of you obey not knowing who he's referring to. Slowly Ororon permits his tongue to wander past your lips and into your mouth. Satisfied Capitano begins to suckle and kiss your neck, his sharp teeth effortlessly breaching skin.
"I know you don't believe me when I say, I'm here to save Natlan." Capitano whispers. "But I helped your Ancestor defend this land once, and I shall do it again." Capitano sits up stiffly, his hand on your shoulder using ice to keep you in place. "The war with the Abyss is starting soon. You'll be safe here while Ororon and I make the final preparations." He sighs fully turning to you.
For the first time, you see the rot and decay that has marred his once gorgeous face. You gulp, swallowing your screams, letting his words sink in like the ice chaining you. Capitano pulls himself from the bed, making his way to the door. Ororon gives you a final kiss before also retreating from the bed and going to stand by the captain.
"If we survive this, I don't intend to take you to Snezhnaya. Frankly, I don't think either of you could survive the cold." He jokes, and you notice it's the first time his serious icy facade has cracked. "You will be safe here with Ororon and I'll visit you as much as my duties permit." strange how his words almost, almost sounded like 'I love you' muttered in a foreign tongue enclosed in ice. Something impossible to thaw out.
"I'm sorry about this darling," Ororon mutters as he follows the captain out. "But we'll be back soon." He offers you a soft smile before closing the door. One that makes your heart melt. Instead of a kidnapper, you see the little boy who used to own your heart.
The door closes leaving you to bask in all the glory of your doom.

Apologies this is definitely not my best work but I just wanted to get something out for these two. May end up writing something better later on.

I'll Send an SOS to Your Heart
-------
"Ok, I'm imagining things."
Steve is laying on his bed watching his lights flicker.
He plugged in one of those space projectors that's supposed to make your ceiling look like the night sky.
It's not weird that they're flickering, the light was a dollar at Melvads he wasn't expecting it to work long.
The weird part is that the stars keep making a heart shape.
He sees the heart flash a couple of times before he flips over and hides deeper into his pillow.
"No." He groans. "No more upside down shit."
If some upside-down monster was flirting with him he quits.
All the lights in his room surge to maximum brightness.
"Fuck off."
The lights draw a middle finger.
"WHAT THE FUCK!" He jumps out of bed and points at the orbs.
It draws a winky face. (;P)
"Who are you?"
His blood runs cold. An upside down monster can't flirt with him. They don't know English. He has an idea but it can't be true.
They left him there. He's dead.
...isn't he?
'SOS' the lights read.
"Fuck." Tears spring to his eyes. "Eddie?"
'Hiya'
-----
He spends a while talking to Eddie.
It's tough.
It takes a while to write everything out and Steve is still trying not to hyperventilate or cry or pass out so it's taking a lot of energy to keep up the conversation.
'Sleep?'
"No."
'?'
"Nothing I'm just...not tired."
'Liar'
"WHAT! I'm not I just-"
'-_-'
"Fine."
':)'
"I'm scared."
'Me?'
"No, I'm scared this is a dream. That I fell asleep hours ago and I made you out of my guilty conscious. I just don't want to lose you...again."
'Back'
"Back?"
'Bring back'
"Bring...you back?"
'YES'
"You think we can bring you back?"
'Plan'
"Yes! I'll call everyone we can figure it out. Oh! We have El to help us this time! You're gonna love her Eds she's just like the kids you look out for and she's magic! I'll call them right-"
'NO'
"No?"
'tom- sleep now'
"I think this is a little more important than-"
'Sleep <3'
Steve looks over at the clock, 4 am.
Shit.
"Ok. I'm going to sleep. Will you...will you be here in the morning?"
'W STEVIE'
"Ok. Goodnight Eddie."
'GN <3'
----
The plan goes off without a hitch.
It takes them about two weeks to formulate and execute the plan.
Steve spends his days and nights talking to Eddie, keeping him updated. Keeping him in his life.
He speed runs a crisis or two when he realizes he wants to spend the remainder of his days speaking to Eddie.
He can't wait until he's here with him.
Alive.
-----
So it's more complicated than he thought.
Maybe there's a hoard or bats blocking them from Eddie.
Maybe Steve throws himself in front of the kids and fights off the creatures long enough for them to find Eddie and get him back home.
Maybe Steve bleeds a little too much and collapsed as soon as they reach the other side.
----
He wakes in the hospital to nine pairs of eyes staring at him.
They're all arguing with each other. Their voices low as if they're trying not to wake them.
He wants to talk he wants to reach out.
Eddie is standing by the door in a baseball cap and sunglasses as if he was trying to be inconspicuous.
As if Eddie could ever hide from Steve. Steve would find him anywhere he is.
God, he's here! He's in the room! All this time apart and he's so close!
"Mphahhpsh" he can't form words but it doesn't matter.
Everyone stops and Eddie's eyes meet his. His eyes look wet and he looks skinny and exhausted.
He's never looked more beautiful.
Eddie's eyes turn down into a determined glare. He pushes past everyone until he's inches away from Steve.
He takes a deep breath and then leans down and kisses him.
Flat on the mouth. In front of everyone.
The shocked noises are what pulls them apart.
"I'm so happy to see you, I really like you," Steve says.
"That's my line." Eddie smiles and kisses him again.
"Don't ever try to save me again I can't ever see you in a hospital again," Eddie presses their noses together.
"That's my line."
Eddie chuckles and pushes his nose into Steve's cheek. "Dork."
"Yes, yes, you're both terrible. Now what the fuck is happening."
They break apart to see the crews shocked faces. Mike's face is pale and Dustin is an interesting shade of red.
Robin is staring at him a little proud.
He sends a wink her way and pulls Eddie in closer.
They'll figure it all out later. They have time.
----
This started with once sentence in my brain and grew into three different plot points I put together in a rush. :P
Please comment I love to read em!

These were supposed to be done and posted by the end of May for MerMay, but the last drawing (Jinbei) ended up taking longer than expected. I actually started these in May of 2023, inspired by the mermaid designs in the live action Little Mermaid. I didn't want to post anything until at least all ten of the Strawhats were done, as I tend to pick and drop projects depending on my motivation, and I kinda got paranoid about potentially keeping people waiting for the next drawing 😅 Most of these are also the second time drawing the Strawhats as merfolk, and I'd like to post those as well for comparison. As for what kinds of animals they are:
Luffy - Mako shark
Zoro- Tiger shark
Nami - Goldfish/barracuda hybrid
Usopp - Sailfish
Sanji - Betta fish
Chopper - Leafy sea dragon
Robin - Zebra shark
Franky - Humpback whale
Brook - Chimera/ghost shark
Jinbei - Whale shark (obvs)
Vivi - Nile perch
I think these choices fit the characters for the most part, for Luffy through Brook, most of them were the same as the first time I drew them as merfolk. The ones I changed were Nami, Franky, and Brook. For Nami, I thought goldfish suited her well for name and colors, but then I read somewhere that barracuda liked shiny things, and I decided to include that as well, making her a hybrid of the two. Franky was originally a lionfish as a nod to Sunny, but I wanted to diversify the designs more and show that not all merfolk are part fish, but can be part aquatic mammal as well.
Brook was originally a random fish I don't remember, maybe a pike? But I'd seen a video about chimera and heard that they're also called "ghost sharks" and like, I couldn't think of anything more fitting 😆 For Robin, I think an octopus would've been more fitting overall, but these designs originated from a specific AU I had in mind, which is why she's a shark instead. Jinbei was obviously going to stay a whale shark, but I still had to redesign him so he'd fit with the others, and overall, I feel he may be the weakest of the designs as he was the last one I did and I was rushing to have them all done 😓
With Vivi, I did like her original design, but I felt that for a character who comes from a country inspired by Egypt, it didn't really come across in her design. I made some slight changes that could hopefully convey it more, but also differentiate her face more from Nami's.
I think overall, the designs I'm most happy with are Zoro, Nami, and Chopper. With Chopper I had this vision of fins shaped like sakura flowers and tree branches and I adore how he came out 😍🥰❤ But overall I am happy with how everyone looks, but I think improvements can be made. I'll make a separate post that shows the difference between my original designs and the new ones and include it in an edit.

Your pen was a flurry of motion, streaking bold lines upon the sketchpad. Technically, you should be sorting through the endless stack of files, keeping them pristine and accessible for the agents. You were always ahead of your tasks, and this job, while not earth-shattering, mattered to you. But when you had a muse as captivating as yours, it was hard to put the pen down.
That muse being the man rifling through the files before you, his face a masterpiece of pretty lines and angles, unaware of the intensity of your focus. You contemplated expressing your admiration aloud, but the idea seemed a little too forward. So, you poured that impulse into a portrait, tracing the contours of his handsome face.
But it proved difficult to accomplish with his relentless pacing. Each step he took sparked another round of redos on the pad. Your tongue, tipped with a silver piercing, unconsciously found its way to your lip as you wrestled with the proportions of his nose, erasing furiously to get it just right.
You let out a sigh, louder than intended, and it was enough to pause his steps. "Sir, can you please stand still?"
He looked utterly baffled, lifting his brows toward his hairline. As your eyes met, he pointed to his chest, his question simple and unsure, "Huh? Me?"
A quick nod sent a ribbon of dyed hair fluttering before your eyes as you beamed at him. "Yes, you! Please, if you don't mind," you murmured, your fingers racing over the paper. "I just need, like, one more second."
He stood frozen, brows remaining quizzically raised. Why he complied, he couldn't say, but the sight of you, so engrossed in your art, your necklaces chiming in time with your movements, and how your bold makeup seemed to frame your face perfectly kept him rooted to the spot.
You peered up through your lashes, giving him a sheepish grin, cheeks lightly flushed as you set the pen down.
"All done! You're free to go. Thanks for being so patient," you chirped, gently waving the paper in the air as if to dry the ink faster.
"Can I at least see the result of my patience?" Spencer asked, his approach casual yet expectant.
You hugged the sketchpad to your chest, a gentle laugh escaping you. "Well, I don't usually just let anyone see my work, especially strangers."
Spencer's smile was tinged with amusement.
"Considering I'm the subject, I think I have some claim to it," he joked. "And by the way, I'm Spencer Reid. There, we're practically acquaintances now."
You couldn't contain the goofy grin that spread across your face, and a giggle bubbled up from your throat.
"Well, since you put it that way, I suppose I can make an exception," you said, drawing out the last word with a wink.
The portrait made Spencer do a double-take--it was him, but as if seen through a gothic, moody lens. His usual composure cracked, and a deep, genuine laugh broke through.
"I never knew I had such a brooding side," he commented with a smile. "I look like I stepped out of a Brontë novel. Perhaps Heathcliff on one of his better days?"
Your head cocked to the side, hair cascading over one shoulder, looking at him through lashes heavy with mascara as you shrugged.
"Heathcliff, huh? I'll take your word for it, but I get the brooding part," you said, with a bubbly laugh. "Come on, it's so you."
Spencer fiddled with his tie, raising a brow.
"I'm not sure if I should be flattered or concerned," he said, the corners of his mouth twitching upwards as he felt a pleasant heat rise to his cheeks.
You squinted sightly, pretending to mull it over.
"Flattered, for sure," you said. "Broody types are just secretly plotting world domination, right?"
He grinned. "Well, maybe not world domination, but certainly plotting something."
Your voice was light, but your question was pointed. "So, what are you plotting, Spencer? Should I be worried?"
He tried to remember what Morgan had taught him.
"Absolutely. But some things are worth the wait--patience, you'll see, can be quite rewarding."
And with a promise like that, you found yourself more than willing to wait.

soon, you'll get better | s. reid
summary; when spencer decides to get help for his addiction, you are right by his side the entire time, even when you are both more scared than you’ll admit.
warnings; fem!reader, early seasons spencer (s2) mentions of addiction, withdrawals, getting help, hurt x comfort, its kinda really fluffy though, mentions of tobias hankel, references possible overdosing, (nobody overdoses, reader is just afraid of it happening) this is comfort, pure spencer comfort tbh.
an; heart BROKEN guys. this one hurt. remember you are not alone.
'I'll paint the kitchen neon, I'll brighten up the sky, I know I'll never get it, there's not a day that I won't try. And I'll say to you, soon you'll get better, soon you'll get better, you'll get better soon, 'cause you have to. And I hate to make this all about me but who am i supposed to talk to? What am i supposed to do, if theres no you?'
You sit beside him, your hand resting gently on his, feeling the tension pulsing through his skin. Spencer's fingers twitch, as though his body is having a silent argument with itself—one part of him wants to hold on to you, to feel your comfort, and the other part is restless, needing something more than your touch can provide. You know what that something is. It’s been between the two of you for weeks now, an unspoken weight that has grown heavier with each passing day.
The hospital waiting room is quiet, but inside your head, it feels deafening. Your eyes flicker to the clock on the wall. The seconds drag on, and you know he feels every single one of them. You squeeze his hand lightly, drawing his attention back to you. His eyes meet yours, wide and anxious, a storm of emotions swirling in their depths. You see it all—the fear, the shame, the self-loathing. But beyond that, buried underneath, you still see the man you love.
"You're doing the right thing," you whisper, your voice soft, barely louder than the ticking clock.
He swallows hard, his Adam’s apple bobbing. His lips part, but no words come out. You don’t push him. You’ve learned that sometimes, silence is safer for him. His mind is always moving, always analyzing, always thinking ten steps ahead, but right now, he’s fragile. His brilliance can’t help him here. And that’s what scares him the most.
You lean in, pressing your forehead against his, grounding him in the moment. “I’m so proud of you,” you say, and you feel him exhale, just slightly. The warmth of his breath touches your lips, and for a brief second, you feel that connection again—the one that always makes you believe everything will be okay, as long as you're together.
It was difficult, sitting here and pretending like you weren’t scared. You were, you wondered if you had a right to be scared. Spencer was the love of your life, you had never once questioned that — and seeing him like this, well it wasn’t easy. Being here, wasn’t easy.
Spencer closes his eyes, a shudder running through his body. He grips your hand tighter, the pressure almost painful, but you don’t pull away. You want him to know you’re here, that you’re not going anywhere. Not now. Not ever.
A nurse walks by, and Spencer's eyes snap open, his body stiffening. You can feel his heart rate spike, the anxiety flaring up again.
“I can’t,” he mutters, shaking his head. His voice is tight, strangled, like he’s holding back something that threatens to choke him.
“Yes, you can,” you reply gently, running your thumb over his knuckles in slow, soothing circles. “Please.”
It was a plea, a genuine plea. You tried to be strong for his sake, he needed someone. You were his person, you would always be. But he was also your person — and the idea that if he didn’t get help you could lose him one way or another terrified you. It caused a genuine ache in your chest at just the thought of him not being him, or not being around at all. You couldn’t lose him, not at the hands of tobias hankel.
He stares at you, searching your face for something—maybe reassurance, maybe strength. You aren’t sure if he finds it, but he nods, his breath coming out in shaky bursts.
The doctor calls his name. The sound makes him flinch, and for a moment, you think he might bolt. You can see it in his posture, the way his muscles tense, his body preparing to flee. But then your hand tightens around his, and he looks at you again. And you know he’s staying because of you.
Together, you stand, and you walk beside him as he follows the doctor into the office. His steps are slow, reluctant, but each one is a small victory. When you sit down in the small room, the doctor’s eyes flicker between the two of you—taking in Spencer’s pale, trembling form and the way you hold onto him as if he might disappear.
The doctor speaks softly, his voice calm and measured. You hear him explain the treatment plan, the options for managing withdrawal, the therapy that Spencer will need. It all sounds clinical, distant, like the words are coming from a place Spencer can’t quite reach.
You glance at him, watching the way his jaw clenches and unclenches, the way his eyes dart around the room, not settling on anything for too long. His mind is miles away, you can tell. But you’re here, anchored in this moment for both of you.
“Spence,” you say softly, turning to face him. He doesn’t respond at first, lost in the cacophony of his own thoughts. So, you reach out, brushing your fingers against his cheek. His eyes snap back to you, and you see the vulnerability in them, the sheer weight of everything he’s been carrying.
“We’ll take it one step at a time,” you remind him. “We’ll get through this. Together.”
His lower lip trembles, and for a second, you think he might cry. But he doesn’t. Spencer’s never been one to break easily, even when he should. You wish he would sometimes, just so he wouldn’t have to hold it all inside.
The doctor gives you both a moment, stepping out of the room to let the words sink in. Spencer drops his head into his hands, his shoulders slumping as though the world is pressing down on him with all its weight.
“I don’t deserve you,” he whispers, his voice barely audible.
You scoot closer, pulling him into your arms, cradling his head against your chest. His body relaxes, just a little, as if the touch of your skin can quiet the chaos in his mind.
“You deserve everything good in this world,” you tell him, stroking his hair gently. “And I’m not going anywhere.”
“I’m broken,” he breathes, the words thick with self-reproach.
You shake your head, holding him tighter. “You’re not broken, Spence. You’re just…hurting. And that’s okay. You’ll get better. You have to.”
Maybe it was a plea, maybe reassurance, you weren’t even sure. Spencer was single handedly the strongest person you knew, he didn’t deserve what had happened to him — nobody did. The signs had been there for a while, you noticed the change instantly and you tried to brush it off as him coping, but when it got to the point where you knew there was more, without a doubt — you had the conversation.
It took some convincing, and a few weeks before he even approached the idea — he denied for a while. You let him. You could only help him as much as he allowed you to, but then when he nudged you gently in bed one night and broke down — he wanted help, and you were happy to provide him with as much as you could, which also meant getting more help.
His arms wrap around your waist, clinging to you as though you’re his lifeline. And in a way, you are. But you know he’s yours too. You’ve never loved anyone the way you love Spencer—so deeply, so completely. He’s flawed, yes. But so are you.
When the doctor returns, you help Spencer sit up, though he keeps one hand resting on your knee, as if needing to stay tethered to you. You listen carefully as the doctor outlines the next steps, and this time, Spencer listens too. He’s scared, you can tell, but he’s fighting. For himself. For you. For what you both have.
And when you leave the office, walking back through the waiting room, you feel a shift. It’s subtle, almost imperceptible, but it’s there. Spencer’s steps are still hesitant, still burdened, but there’s a determination now. He’s facing it. He’s facing himself. And you’re right there beside him, as you always will be.
As you step out into the crisp evening air, Spencer pauses. He turns to you, his eyes soft, vulnerable, but this time, there’s a flicker of hope.
“I love you,” he says quietly, the words shaky but sincere.
You smile, your heart swelling. “I love you too.”
And in that moment, with the world quiet around you, “You will get better Spence.”

FINALLY FINISHED MY QPHIL 3.0 DESIGN HOORAY (cant wait to. redesign it again in like 3 months.) (CHECK UNDER THE CUT FOR MY SILLY DESIGN NOTES!!)
I think I said this before but i so. SO BADLY wanted him to have a sleep theme since I always loved how his presence on the island was kinda up in the air. Is it a dream? Is it not? When he goes between the island and hardcore is that change really happening? Who knows.
The idea of making his usual outfit more like a housecoat was super appealing to me, so I opted for this open housecoat look with really heavy frills which were super fun to figure out, and I knew from pretty early on that I wanted to give him a quilt pattern SOMEWHERE on his design, so I thought the inside of the coat would do nicely for a sorta "default state". It also meant I could attribute meaning to the symbols and colours I used. wink nudge.
He has a more subtle angel theme, like with the mobile on his walking stick being a halo with the wing placement further emphasizing this, as well as just his generally lighter colour scheme. When I say sleep was his theme I almost more-so imagine it as like. The feeling of waking up in the morning where you're mostly refreshed but still a LITTLE drowsy. Lots of very spring-y, morning colours.
Just some other quick notes, I always really liked the mod in the server where you could have the crows perch on your shoulder and follow cuz of the lantern, so I thought it'd be fun if I made it so brian just straight up WAS the lantern. So I made him look like one of those wall outlet nightlights!! The backpack being kinda cat shaped was COMPLETELY unintentional but a very welcome result. Missa backpack is real.
As for the alternate outfits, I have a bolas one, as well as an ender king one since I deemed those two the most important. For the ender king I weirdly don't have many notes, like it's fairly straightforward (Save for the elephant in the room but now I'm gonna keep my secrets on why that's a thing). The Quilt design is supposed to be a lighter, easier-on-the-eyes version of the no texture pattern, and I imagine that all the goop and gunk on Phil is hidden under the coat. I imagine it'd look fairly similar to canon so just like. imagine it for now. Might draw it one day. MAYBE. There's some tiny additional colour symbolism but I'll hold my tongue on that and let you guys draw your own conclusions there. I WILL say, however, that instead of his theme being sleep, his theme is "nightmare" (and also kinda sleepwalking since both fit).
The Bolas design was SUPER fun to work with. For starters I wanted the three designs to be in three different states. One with the coat, one with the coat reversed, and one without the coat entirely. Since I wanted to do the checker pattern thing with the possession design, having the sleeveless bolas design worked really well for the shape I landed on, even if it wasn't conventional. and SPEAKING of non-conventional design choices, I decided to go against the usual plague doctor + gas mask fusion design. Which might be controversial... But god. The moment I thought of his mask being a falconry hood, the idea just wouldn't leave my mind. Because of this, the full mask is kinda separated into two parts. The eye mask which kinda also mirrors his usual sleep mask, and the gas mask itself (I kept it in a beak shape since it'd feel odd if i made it any other shape for phil, lol). When designing the whole thing I kept thinking about more apocalypse setting clothing. Like mad max. Or the one gag from that one spongebob movie. Lots of leather. And of course, to match the other sleep themes, the Bolas outfit's theme is "fever dream", although its a bit more subtle. It's easily the weirdest design, The pops of green were simultaneously in reference to the friendship emerald... As well as... Well, the green chain right below the chain on the sickness themed design was probably the most tasteful way I could've chosen to get across vomit without it being too on the nose. (also sidenote, I had a few friends compare bolas phil to... a fly. Which wasn't intentional but it's kinda funny that the guy designed after fever dreams looks a little bit like a bug.) Ok thats it for design commentary I'm gonna go to bedge nyow.

---
Steve has taken over Eddie's large porcelain bathtub after it was moved to the main room of the captain's cabin. Steve is lounging in it now, a week into being on Eddie's ship, with his tail draped over the edge so he can submerge his head and breathe through his gills. It's infinitely more comfortable, even with the seaweed still wrapped along the length of his tail and reminding him of its presence with every twitch.
He sighs, bubbles rising from his gills in the "I'm beyond bored" pattern that Robin would light up at seeing. But she's not here, so Steve is left to once again turn Eddie's bat ring over in his hands, fingers brushing along the wings.
Eddie had shown him a drawing of an actual bat, and Steve still thinks they're freaks of nature. But he finds the ring itself a little endearing if only because it was Eddie's ring willingly given.
He smiles softly, the gesture only dampened by the sharp jab of worry over his guppies and Robin. They're probably losing their scales with worry themselves, scouring the sea and putting themselves at risk of being seen in their hunt for him. Steve can't even fault them, either; he would do the exact same thing if Robin or any of his guppies had been captured like that. He has done the exact same thing.
Steve sighs again, this time the bubble pattern expressing exhaustion and "What the fuck am I supposed to do now?" He kind of misses having someone who actually understands what his bubble patterns mean, but he knows it wouldn't be fair to get frustrated with anyone for their inability to gain meaning from bubbles floating toward the surface.
He thinks, maybe, the worst part is being confined to the tub. Sure, it's infinitely better than the fucking bucket from the other ship, but Steve is still getting restless. He's like a guppy that's watching its siblings swim but still doesn't have the tail strength to swim itself. He feels trapped and has way too much energy with nowhere to spend it.
Steve hasn't mentioned this to Eddie, though. He'd been planning to, of course. In fact, he intended to tell Eddie that morning, but then they'd docked at some port city and Eddie had run off with the promise of being back soon. Steve had tried not to feel a little abandoned, left by himself with fucking nothing to do while Eddie prances around on land.
Before he can get too far into this line of thought (he's about three minutes from convincing himself that, really, Eddie shouldn't have left and could probably be taught the basics of bubble patterns as punishment), Eddie practically barrels into the room, vibrating with something Steve only recognizes as excitement when he sees Eddie's grin.
Steve surfaces, pushing his hair out of his eyes and leaning on the edge of the tub, twitching his tail slightly and exercising incredible control to keep from preening when Eddie's gaze lingers on it. "What happened?" he asks, slipping the bat ring onto his thumb, the only finger it fits.
Eddie drops to his knees, scooting closer to the tub until their noses are almost brushing. "I've got a surprise for you, sweetheart," he says, voice light and eager.
"Where is it?" Steve asks, returning Eddie's smile.
"It's on the deck! Do you trust me?"
For a brief moment, Steve thinks Eddie is about to throw him back into the ocean. Which, like, wouldn't be a bad thing, but Steve would be incredibly offended by the suddenness and wonder if he'd been imagining the draw between them.
But he's sure Eddie wouldn't do something like that without asking first, so he tucks it away as something only slightly possible. Steve nods and pulls back, bracing his hands on the edge of the tub before pushing himself up. He perches on the edge, his balance a little unsteady as he looks at Eddie.
Thankfully, Eddie catches on quickly. He scrambles to his feet and scoops Steve off the edge of the tub, one arm under his tail and the other wrapped around Steve's back. Steve holds onto Eddie's neck, still a little paranoid about being dropped despite Eddie's prior insistence that he wouldn't let anything happen to Steve.
"I think you're gonna love it," Eddie says, his voice soft and his breath warm against Steve's cheek.
Steve gets the urge to ask again, but he holds back as Eddie carries him up to the deck. The sky is covered in clouds, keeping the sun from blinding him when they emerge from the stairs. The deck is concerningly large for such a small crew, and Gareth is currently lounging against the mast, a hat pulled low over his eyes as he sleeps.
He's not very attention-grabbing, though. Not when there's a large...contraption in the middle of the deck. It has four wheels and is shaped like a boat, big enough for Steve to sit comfortably without his tail draping over the edge. There are cranks of some kind on the inside of the boat, and Steve realizes it's filled with water as Eddie carries him closer.
"What is this?" Steve asks, trying not to grimace at the discomfort of his scales beginning to dry out. They're starting to feel tight and itchy, a sensation he really hates, like they're going to split apart at any second.
Eddie grins wider and carefully sets Steve into the water, making sure he doesn't bump the tail or the seaweed wraps. He points at the crank to Steve's left and says, "That will make the back wheels turn. If you crank forward, you'll go forward, and back will make you go backward." He then points to the other crank by Steve's right. "This one controls the front wheels. Forward will make them turn left, and backward will make them turn right. You should be able to move around the deck with this."
Steve stares at the cranks for a moment before glancing up at Eddie. When he receives an encouraging nod in response, he slowly turns the left crank forward, lighting up when the boat does, in fact, move forward a few inches.
He's so overwhelmed with joy that he can't help the notes bubbling in his throat, rising and rising until he can't hold them back anymore. Steve doesn't even think before singing, a wordless tune that conveys just how truly happy he is, one that would leave Robin flabbergasted because she's never heard this tune before.
Because this tune is for courting gifts. Like, really fucking fantastic courting gifts. The kind of gifts that blow everything else clear out of the water and leave a merperson dazed and bubbly and floating without any direction from sheer happiness, bubbles bursting through their gills in joyous patterns.
Steve has never sung this tune before, but he's not at all surprised that Eddie is the person who managed to coax it out of him.
-----
Eddie knew the boat would be a good idea, but now he's thinking it was the best idea he's ever had and ever will. Even after hours have passed, after Steve has watched the sun drop below the water and asked Eddie to carry him back to the cabin, complaining about his arms being sore from turning cranks, Eddie is still reeling.
He's never heard a more beautiful sound. Eddie keeps replaying the tune Steve sang in his head, frustrated with his inability to recreate it just right and too flustered to ask Steve to sing it again. Because he gets the feeling it was special, something that Steve can't just do at the drop of a hat, but something he did because of Eddie.
Eddie twists his fingers in the sheet covering him, turning his head to glance at the tub where Steve is leaning against the edge. His eyes are closed, but Eddie knows he isn't sleeping yet. Steve submerges his head when he sleeps.
"Hey, Stevie," Eddie whispers, almost like he doesn't want Steve to hear so the comfortable silence continues.
Steve hears him anyway, of course, the flare of fin along the edge of his ear twitching slightly. He tilts his head a bit more, squishing his cheek against his arm, and somewhat lazily says, "Yeah, Eddie?"
Eddie turns onto his side, meeting Steve's gaze. "How'd you become a caretaker?" he asks. It's not the question he actually wants to ask; he wants to ask Steve to sing again, to let him drift to sleep to beautiful notes and lingering melodies.
He watches as Steve tenses slightly before forcing himself to relax. He takes a deep breath, his gills fluttering slightly before slowly exhaling. "A while ago, my pod had an...altercation with a pod from the southern seas. They kidnapped one of the guppies, Will, and the other guppies decided to rescue him. They snuck off one night and I followed them when I discovered what happened and..."
Steve trails off, frowning as he tilts his head to look at the small window, staring at the moon through the glass. "Well, long story short, there were lots of fights, our pod lost its previous caretaker, and we gained a new guppy the southern pod had captured. After everything, I couldn't let the guppies out of my sight, and they kept coming to me and Robin whenever they had problems. So, eventually, I just convinced Robin to be my partner and raise the guppies."
There's a lot going unsaid in that explanation, but Eddie knows better than to pry right now. Steve will tell him when he wants, and if he never wants to, that's fine, too. Eddie won't fault him for that. "Did you have a job before that?" he asks.
Steve hums softly, still beautiful and soft, but not at all the melody Eddie really wants to hear. "I used to scout for the pod," he says, "I would swim ahead and make sure an area was safe or find spots to rest when the pod traveled. When we stopped for long periods, I'd help gather food for the pod."
"You like caring for the guppies more," Eddie says, and it's not at all a question.
"Yeah," Steve replies, a soft smile tugging at his lips. "The guppies are great."
"Tell me about them."
"Well, first is Dustin. He's a little sea urchin, always talking back and getting into trouble, but he's sweet. Will is usually pretty quiet, but he's got a great imagination. Mike always hangs around Will, and he's kind of a squid, but he's going through an awkward growth phase. Lucas is the most active of them, and he likes to shadow the scouters when he can. Erica is his little sister, and she doesn't let the others get away with anything. Max is daring and brash, she tends to dive head-first into stuff, but she's also really protective. El is quiet like Will, but she's really smart and really caring. They're such a handful. Robin and I never have a dull day."
His voice is trailing off toward the end, and Eddie knows he's just moments from falling asleep. "I'd like to meet them someday," Eddie says, his voice softer than before, the words spoken more to himself than Steve.
Of course, that doesn't stop Steve from hearing him anyway. He hums again, this one quieter, and groggily mumbles, "Of course you will, Eddie. That's part of the courting."
And then, like he hasn't essentially rocked Eddie's entire world, Steve slips down in the tub. He submerges his head in the water, and Eddie can hear the quiet murmur of bubbles rising to the surface and popping as Steve breathes.
Eddie stays frozen for a few minutes, staring at the tub, and suddenly wondering if, maybe, somebody somewhere happened to write a merperson courtship manual.

daydreams & doodles
WHEREIN: huening mindlessly doodles on your arm pairing: college!hyuka x gn!reader genre: fluff warning: none (i think..)
the sun streamed through the classroom windows, casting warm patterns on the desks. you sat in the middle row, absently tapping your pen against your notebook. today’s lesson was a blur, the teacher’s voice a distant hum.
next to you, huening kai was equally disengaged, his focus not on the blackboard but on your arm.
you glanced at him, a small smile playing on your lips as he gently took your arm and started doodling. his concentration was adorable, his tongue slightly poking out as he drew tiny stars, hearts, and little animals. each stroke was light and delicate, the ink forming whimsical patterns on your skin.
“hey, what’s that supposed to be?” you whispered, trying to suppress a giggle.
huening looked up, his eyes sparkling with mischief. “it’s a surprise,” he whispered back, a grin spreading across his face.
as he continued, you found yourself watching him more than paying attention to the lesson. the way his brow furrowed in concentration, the slight curve of his lips as he enjoyed his impromptu art session – it was all endearing.
suddenly, the classroom fell silent. you snapped your head up to see the teacher standing directly in front of you both, arms crossed and eyebrows raised. huening froze, the marker still poised over your arm. the teacher’s stern gaze swept over the two of you, making your cheeks flush with heat.
“mr. huening,” the teacher said, her voice carrying a hint of amusement, “i don’t believe doodling on your classmate is part of the curriculum.”
a ripple of laughter spread through the classroom. huening kai’s face turned a deep shade of red, his eyes wide with embarrassment. he quickly pulled his hand away, trying to hide the marker behind his back.
“i’m sorry, mrs. lee,” he stammered, his voice barely above a whisper.
mrs. lee’s expression softened, and she sighed, shaking her head with a small smile. “just try to focus on the lesson, both of you,” she said, her tone gentle. “and maybe save the artwork for after class.”
as she walked away, the laughter died down, and the class resumed its usual rhythm. you looked over at huening, who was still blushing furiously, avoiding your gaze. you nudged him gently with your elbow.
“hey, it’s okay,” you said softly. “i like your doodles.”
he glanced at you, a shy smile tugging at his lips. “really?”
“really,” you assured him, holding up your arm to admire the little drawings. “they’re cute. just like you.”
he peeked at you, a shy smile tugging at his lips. "thanks," he mumbled. "sorry for getting you in trouble."
"it's fine, hyuka" you assured him. "besides, i kind of like being your canvas."
huening's blush deepened, but he couldn't help but chuckle. "maybe next time, i'll just stick to paper," he said, giving you a sheepish grin.

You're his ex, but he's desperate for a babysitter. (pt. 2)

Part 1 Part 3
─────────────────── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ────────────────────
Mike calls you up to ask a favor for the 2nd night in a row. He hates having to resort to you, his ex for Christ's sake, but he has no other choice. Besides, after last night... maybe he doesn't hate it so much.
"Again?" You ask, feigning annoyance. "What, did your usual babysitter fuck off and die?"
Mike winces at that. "I hope not. I can't really afford anyone else right now."
"And why do you expect me to come be your free labor, Schmidt?"
"Because I'll owe ya one?"
"You already owe me one from last night."
"..."
"I'll owe you two."
You scoff in an attempt to cover a laugh. Damnit. Why did he have to be so charming?
"Fine. But we are not making a habit of this."
"We aren't. I promise. I'll look for a new babysitter this weekend. I just can't leave Abby alone overnight."
"That's a strange way of saying you can't go another minute without me."
"You're delusional, woman."
"A delusional woman you owe two favors, Mikey. Be careful throwing insults."
Now it's Mike's turn to stifle a laugh. He coughs in a feeble attempt at covering it up.
"What, catching a cold?"
"No. You just make me sick."
"Stop flirting with me and hang up already."
Mike does just that, slamming the corded landline phone back into it's holster. The little smiley face sticker Abby stuck to it years ago seems to taunt him almost as much as you just did. He sighs, leaning against the counter and wondering how he got himself into this mess. He shouldn't enjoy it so much when you toy with him like this. That's all it was, he was being played with. But damn it, after being lonely so long... he'd take what he could get.
・○・・・・・・○・・・・・・○・・・・・・○・・・・・・○・
You arrive at his house around half an hour later, annoyed at the prospect of crashing on his couch for the 2nd night in a row. You try to make your displeasure evident with a scowl as he opens the door, but when you see the way he's gawking at you...
"Stop staring. It's rude." You can't help but smirk slightly as you scold him, he's just so easy to mess with.
"Did you really have to dress like a slut just to babysit?" Mike hisses as you set down your things, taking in your outfit. A pair of shorts that you'd definitely be cold in, and a white tank top. Of course, you had a hoodie too, but it was unzipped, and he was more focused on what it didn't cover.
"Hey, last time you said..." Mike nods to the kitchen, and you trail off as you notice the girl sitting and coloring at the table. Abby. Oh. Right.
"You're not in any position to judge my clothing choices, Mikey."
Mike shivers as you whisper in his ear. What exactly is that supposed to mean? His clothes are fine, right? He studies his hoodie and jeans, then shakes himself and grits his teeth as he follows you into the kitchen.
"Look! Mike drew this one!" Abby excitedly shoves a piece of paper in your face as you sit down at the kitchen table with her. It's a sketch of a forest, pine trees and shrubs. It's actually rather well drawn, and you take a minute to look over it.
"It's nice, but you're the better artist for sure." You slide the paper back over to her and give Mike a teasing smile as he sits down across from you, on the other side of Abby.
"Oh, I know." She turns her attention back to her own drawing, another one of Mike. And... wait, was that...? No, it couldn't be...?
"Abby, what are you drawing?" Mike asks the question before you can, craning his neck to get a better look at her paper.
"You." She responds vaguely, still scribbling away.
"Okay, but what exactly is he doing?" You ask, scooting closer to her for a better look.
"And what am I wearing?"
"A suit. It's your wedding." Abby casually drops a bomb on you both, still not even bothering to look up from her paper. Wedding? Mike?
"You're engaged?" You turn to the dumbfounded older Schmidt, and discreetly scan his hands, looking for a ring.
"N-no? What? Abby, I'm not getting married." He finally sputters, face flushed a light shade of pink.
Abby doesn't respond, still focused on her drawing. Now that you're sure what it is, you can totally see it. The red isle. The benches. Mike, wearing... something that sort of resembles a suit, if you squint. And... a bride. You nearly choke when you spot her.
"Abbs, who's that?" You ask, pointing a shaky finger at the bride, who almost looks familiar...
"You."
"..."
Mike gives you a look, and you both quickly excuse yourselves from the table.
・○・・・・・・○・・・・・・○・・・・・・○・・・・・・○・
"Seriously, Mike? First you tell her I'm a witch, then you tell her I'm your fiancé? Make up your goddamn mind." You scowl at him and zip up your hoodie as he closes the door behind you. The night air is chilly, and you're almost starting to regret the shorts. Almost.
Mike returns your scowl as he leans against a wall. His porch isn't exactly the best hang out spot, but you two needed to speak privately after Abby's little comment.
"I didn't tell her you're my fiancé." He growls, speaking firmly. Must be trying to make up for the way he was totally blushing earlier.
"So what, then? She just made it up?"
"Come on..." He groans, burying his face in his hands and letting the tough act fall for a moment. "You know how she is..."
It was true, his sister was... weird. He still loved her obviously, more than anyone, especially his stupid ex-girlfriend. But she was certainty different from other kids, made evident by the fact she spent more time talking to imaginary people than Mike.
"Seriously... I didn't fuckin' say that..." Mike wasn't a very good liar. But this wasn't lying, right? He'd never explicitly told Abby he was going to marry you, but he definitely humored her when she asked about it way back when you two were dating. He'd told her maybe. Maybe. To a kid, that meant yes.
"You sure, Mikey? Don't have a ring hidden away somewhere, waiting to pop the question?" You cross your arms and scoff, but it's hard to be angry when this whole thing is so amusing. Abby definitely had a wild imagination, but she wouldn't just make up something like that out of nowhere. There had to be more to this.
"Hell no. I'd rather die alone than marry a witch." He practically spits in anger, but he's more angry at himself than you or Abby. He should have shut Abby down immediately when she asked about marriage... especially considering the relationship hardly lasted 3 months. But, well, he was a lovesick fool. Way back then. Not anymore.
"Pfft. Fine. Have fun at work, Honey." You taunt him as you head back inside, and you can hear him grumble more than a few curses in response.
Little sisters and ex-girlfriends, man. Mike wanted to scream.
・○・・・・・・○・・・・・・○・・・・・・○・・・・・・○・
You nearly choke on your glass of water as Abby drops yet another bomb on you.
"C-can you repeat that?" You ask, coughing.
"Will you teach me witch stuff? You know, cursing people?" Abby blinks up at you innocently. Damn these Schmidts and their big brown puppy eyes.
"Please? When you lifted the curse from Mike, it really worked!" She insists eagerly. "He colored with me!"
You watch as she proudly holds up Mike's drawing of a forest. She must really treasure it.
"I... uh... why do you want to learn witchcraft, Abby?"
Abby cocks her head at the question. "Why wouldn't I?"
"Fair enough." You laugh and shake your head. This kid.
"Alright... but we can't do witchery on empty stomachs. What do you want to eat?"
・○・・・・・・○・・・・・・○・・・・・・○・・・・・・○・
When Mike quietly slips back into the house at the crack of dawn, he nearly trips over his own feet when he sees the state of his kitchen table.
"The fuck happened here?" He mutters, picking up one of the many papers strewn across the table. The weird markings all over it vaguely resembled hieroglyphics, not that he was an expert on those. The part that really concerned him, though, was the circle of candles in the center of the table.
They weren't lit, thankfully, but they looked like they had been. Damn it. Those were for emergencies. Like the time he forgot to pay the power bill.
"Too tired for this shit." He gives up on trying to decipher whatever-the-fuck you and Abby did, and makes his way into the living room. He pauses yet again when he sees you sleeping on the couch. Was that his blanket? And pillow? From his bed? Damn infuriating woman.
"Get up." He gives your shoulder a shake, not bothering to be gentle. He doesn't have the patience right now.
"Nngh... 5 more minutes." Ugh. You sound just like Abby.
"Don't be a bum." He rips the blanket off of you, then immediately regrets it when he remembers just how little you're wearing. Your tank top had shifted, almost completely exposing your... fuck, he shouldn't stare.
"Don't you have work?" He grumbles, flopping down in his recliner and pointedly looking away from your body.
"Nah... It's my day off." You sit up and stretch, planting your feet on the floor and reaching up to the sky as you lean back against the couch. Either you don't notice that one of your breasts has fallen out of your tiny top, or you just don't care. Mike clears his throat and looks away again. Fuck. He's definitely blushing.
"Oh, shit." With a casual hand, you tuck your breast back into the tank top. Must have moved around a lot. Damn uncomfortable couch.
"You wanna explain why it looks like I hosted a cult meeting in my kitchen?" Mike snaps, finally able to focus.
"Hey, you're the one who convinced Abby I'm a witch. Not my fault the promise of learning a spell is such an effective way of getting her to eat dinner."
Mike furrows his brow at that. You got her to eat dinner? Two nights in a row? That's an accomplishment. "...Fine. But please, clean up your mess next time. I have to take her to school in a couple hours, and if the table is-"
"Yeah, yeah. I'll clean it up. Let me get some coffee first, jeez." You brush him off and make your way into the kitchen. He still has the same shitty coffee maker that looks like it belongs in an antique store. And no creamer, because Mike hates joy.
"You want a cup too?"
"I shouldn't. Gotta go to sleep after I drop Abby off at school." He grunts from the other room, and you can hear him getting out of the old creaky recliner he loves so much.
"Ah. Night shift."
"Yeah. Night shift."
Mike shuffles into the kitchen and you both stand there awkwardly for a few moments as the coffee brews.
"You don't really look like you sleep, you know." You remark, taking in his ever-present eyebags for the hundredth time.
"Yeah, well, I do. Sleeping is just so... tiring." He scoffs, making light of the situation. He's telling the truth, though. Sleep for him is more of a project than real rest. His eyes glaze over as he gets lost in thought for a moment.
"You good, Mike?" He flinches as you place a hand on his shoulder. He wasn't expecting that from you.
"Yeah, uh, just..."
"Tired?"
"Yeah."
You sigh and decide to let it go, turning your attention to the mess on the kitchen table instead. He didn't owe you an explanation, especially now that you're not together, but it was still frustrating. He's obviously dealing with something, probably a lot of somethings, and he's too stubborn to admit it. That stubbornness is gonna be the end of him, you swear. It was what ended your relationship. Partially.
"Here, I'll help." Mike fumbles to help you pick up papers and crayons, colored pencils and candles. After a few minutes, it doesn't look like such a disaster.
"Oh, by the way." You pour yourself a cup of coffee, and start to stir in a few spoons of sugar. Too much sugar, for Mike's taste. "Abby's little blue dolphin stuffed animal is invisible to you now, got it? As long as it's in the house, grown-ups can't see it. I think she put it in your room to test you. Just ignore it."
"Is that what you two were doing?" Mike leans back against the counter and scoffs, but makes a mental note to ignore the little dolphin from now one. He'd humor her, if it meant she'd eat her dinner.
"I don't know? I panicked, okay? I had to think of something harmless but still believable and exciting for a little kid."
"And 'invisible stuffed animal' was the best you could think of?"
"This is a warning. Find a new goddamn babysitter or I'm teaching her curses next. And you have to play along."
Mike can't help but smile at that. A real smile.

𝐒𝐓𝐔𝐂𝐊 - 𝟐
Pairing: Eddie x F!Reader
Summary: After Eddie drives you home, he keeps his promise to get the books you recommended from the library and also visits you at work.
Part 1
Eddie didn't believe in fate, destiny or any of that shit but he was pretty sure it was something like that that had made him end up locked in the library with you, of all people at the school.
You were the only person who ever interested Eddie enough to make him look up when you entered the cafeteria, you were one of the few people who probably never gave him an offensive comment in the whole school and you even saved his poor chimera from the trash bin.
When Eddie had noticed that he was locked in the library, he had initially thought it was a stupid prank but when he realized that he was not only he supposed that Miss Cooper had just assumed that everyone had gone away and closed the library.
And of all the people who could have been there at that moment it was you. Eddie didn't know whether to laugh or smash his head against the wall.
Initially, he'd thought that you'd get mad at him, yell at him that it was his fault (for some reason he didn't even know) or you would have been scared to know you were locked in there with him.
Instead you were nice to him. And Eddie had found himself loving the sound of your laughter echoing through the library so much that he wished he could record it and listen to it whenever he wanted.
Eddie had thought that when you'd given him the drawing you had saved from the trash, he could kiss you instantly, but you'd probably find that weird.
He started the engine of his van while you sat next to him in the front seat, brushing a few strands of wet hair from your forehead.
Eddie could still almost feel the ghost of your hand on his back, even though it wasn't there anymore.
"I can't believe it." You said, your voice slightly louder than usual to make him hear what you were saying despite the incessant rain pounding on the van.
"Yeah, I mean... you pushed Jason and you-"
"I'm not talking about that, Eddie. We forgot the books!"
He chuckled. "You just yelled at your friends and you are worrying about some books?"
"We left Carrie there!"
Eddie really laughed this time, with his head thrown back and his eyes closed, not hiding his smile. "Tomorrow I'm going back to the library and I'll get all the books you recommended, okay?"
"Okay, be careful not to get locked in again."
"Oh wow, someone's being a little too sassy here. You know you've been stuck there too, right?" His gaze kept moving from the road in front of him to you, a smirk was on his lips.
"Oh, I bet you liked it!"
"Staying there with you all that time? Let's just say that of all the people who might have been there when the library closed, you're not one of the worst."
"Well, you, on the other hand, are very fun to hang out with." It was obvious you weren't lying or joking anymore and that made Eddie speechless for a moment.
Your tone was more serious but still kind as you kept talking, "I'm glad it was you."
The grip of his hands on the wheel suddenly tightened, he wasn't used to speaking openly about his feelings and it was so normal for him to be prepared for rejection and people looking down on him that he found himself unable to respond immediately.
"I'm glad it was you too." He didn't move his gaze from the road in front of him this time but he swore he felt you smile.
Maybe he had been completely gone for you for some time and didn't even realize it.
"Eddie?"
"Yeah?"
"I think you've been driving empty for about ten minutes."
"Shit, where- where do you live?"
"Why didn't you ask me before?" You laughed.
"Because you distracted me! You talk a lot, you know?"
You laughed again and shook your head slightly, Eddie realized he loved making you smile. "You know the new record store that opened like two weeks ago? I basically live in front of it, on the other side of the road."
Eddie nodded. "Have you already been there? They say it's pretty cool."
"Yeah but you know who's even cooler? The girl who works there almost every afternoon. I think she's the one who attracts all those customers."
Eddie turned his head in your direction, a curious expression in his eyes. "Do you...?"
"Yeah" You admitted with a laugh. "I work there. You should pass by sometime. I could use some company."
"Do you want my company or my money?" He joked.
"Mh... both?"
Eddie rolled his eyes.
"No but really, my days are filled with boredom and little girls buying Dolly Parton. You should come by and say hi sometime."
"Mh. Maybe."
"I don't like maybes. When I say maybe I usually mean no so-"
"I'll come say hi, Y/N. I swear on my honor. I'll come." He chuckled placing a hand on his chest, where his heart was.
"Okay, fine." You smiled as Eddie parked the van at the side of a long road illuminated by many street lamps that reflected their light on the puddles on the ground.
"I live right there." You tapped your finger on the window, poiting to your house. "Thank you for the ride."
"It's okay." He said as you got out of the van.
"Well, see you soon. Unless you'll pretend you don't know me when we go back to school." He rolled down the window, talking to you through it.
You stared at him for a moment, as if amazed by what he had just said. "How could I?"
Eddie couldn't help but smile as he watched you walk up to the front door.
He never thought that being locked in the school library with someone could change his life.
The next day, the sun returned to shine on Hawkings as if the rain of the day before had never existed and you came back to school with the hope to see Eddie again.
"You don't understand." You shook your head as you grabbed a book from your locker before meeting Jess's gaze again.
You had been at school for about ten minutes and Jess and Debby didn't waste a second to cover you with questions and reproaches about what had happened the day before. As if it was their right to know.
"No, the only one who doesn't understand here is you. You had been locked in the library with him and then he even gave you a ride home. The whole thing is jusy so fucking creepy."
"You don't even know him! He could have had bad intentions or hurt you." Debby added with a troubled expression painted on her face.
"Well, I certainly know him better than you two and I can assure you he's nothing like you ever thought of him."
"But he's-"
"Stop it, Jess. Eddie treated me better during the three hours ee spent together than Beck treated you in four months."
She opened her mouth as if to argue, but when she realized she had no idea what to say, she slowly closed her lips again.
"Trust me. He's kind and funny and-" You suddenly remembered something, "and he has to get some books from the library or I'll get very mad with him." You added with a little smile forming on your lips.
You didn't know if it was because the idea that Eddie absolutely had to read the books you'd recommended made you laugh or if it was simply the thought of Eddie that made you smile.
"I gotta go!" You yelled at the girls you left in the hallway behind you on your way to the library.
Classes had yet to start and the hallways were already full of students and you found yourself looking for a certain metalhead with your gaze without even realizing it. Most of the time he was late to class so it wouldn't be unusual for him to still be chatting with the Hellfire club in the parking lot or smoking the first joint of the day in the woods near the school.
"Good morning Miss Cooper!" You greeted the lady as you entered the library, "I would suggest you to clearly announce when you close or you risk locking someone inside."
"Oh dear, did something happen?"
"Nah, nothing to worry about." You smiled, looking across her desk for the stack of books you'd left there the day before. "Do you know by any chance what happened to the books that were up here?"
"I was about to put them back in their places, thinking someone had forgotten them or changed their mind, but that weird guy with crazy hair who always wears black came to get them."
Oh. So Eddie kept his promise.
"Okay. Well, thank you so much. Have a good day." You told the lady as she saw you leave with a slight confused expression on her face.
Eddie showed up three minutes late for class, nothing that could really get him in trouble or get him a detention, and he sat down at an empty desk just a few feet from yours.
"You took the books." You whispered and he lifted his head in your direction with a slight smile on his lips as soon as he heard your voice.
"You keep doubting my honesty. I promised." He whispered back as the teacher's voice just became more of a background to your conversation with Eddie.
"Okay, sorry. I didn't think you were actually going to do that." You laughed.
"Well, I-"
"Mr. Munson!" The teacher interrupted your chat, "it's the hundredth time I've told you not to disturb the-"
"It's my fault." You said before he could continue, "I'm sorry, it's my fault."
The teacher lingered for a moment, glancing from you to Eddie and back again as if it weren't possible that for once, Eddie Munson wasn't the one doing something he shouldn't be doing.
"Don't let that happen again." He said finally, before starting the explanation again.
Eddie looked at you for a moment like he wouldn't in a million years expect someone to defend him in front of a teacher without a second thought. Maybe because no one had ever done that and it had always been easy to blame him even when it wasn't his fault and the teachers had always believed it.
"What?" You whispered again, almost without even realizing you were breaking the rules again.
"Nothing." He smiled softly, his big brown eyes catching the light filtering through the classroom windows letting you notice the gold hues in them were still on you, "nothing, really."
You just smiled back.
Like every late afternoon you were at the record store. You liked working there even if you told Eddie it was boring (maybe you did it just to get him to come there).
You liked trying to guess what kind of music each customer would buy as soon as they set foot in the shop, you liked choosing the songs to play in the background and you liked giving advice when someone was undecided or had to make a gift.
You loved how such different people came in there every day.
"Have a good day!" You said to a lady who seemed to be in her 60s, who had just bought some music from the 20s and 30s, as she left the shop, making bell on the door tinkle.
You saw through the glass wall how her shining smile suddenly disappeared as she ran into the group of boys about to enter.
You chuckled at the way she avoided them like the plague, quickly heading the other way they were coming in an almost comical way.
"Hey, am I that ugly? I think I just made that old lady run away." Eddie's familiar voice commented when he finally entered the store.
"I can assure you you're not." You laughed as the group got in the shop.
You saw the guy with short curly hair nudging his darker-skinned friend, muttering something you couldn't hear, and then chuckled afterwards, maybe because of what you just said.
You weren't sure if what was going on between you and Eddie was flirting or something like that, but you sure were honest: you'd always found Eddie pretty.
He smiled at you as he rested his elbows on the counter, in front of you.
"Hey stranger." You greeted him.
"You see? I kept my promise, again."
"Well, thanks. You also brought more customers, it means more money."
"Oh, right." He seemed to suddenly remember his friends "These three kind gentlemen are Gareth, Jeff and Grant." he pointed to the guys behind him "and my dear friends, this is Y/N, the fair lady I had the pleasure of being locked in the library with a few days ago."
You looked at the three boys, you'd seen them all in school before, you even had a few classes with some of them, and you'd always seen them sitting at the Hellfire table with Eddie and their other friends. They wore leather jackets, ripped jeans and T-shirts with the names of bands you knew except one: Corroded Coffin.
You weren't sure if it was a band name since you'd never heard it before but then again, you'd been working at the record store for less than a month and you definitely didn't know all the bands that existed in the world.
"Dude, don't pretend you haven't talked about her 24/7 for the last couple of days." Grant commented with a tiny smirk on his lips.
Eddie scoffed. "That's not true, don't listen to them. We're honestly not even that close of friends, I hardly know them." Eddie hurried to reply, a tinge of red rising on his cheeks.
"Hey! That's not true!" Jeff hit his shoulder and Eddie rolled his eyes.
“Look, do you only have Cyndi Lauper here or…” Gareth started asking before you cut him off.
"Metal is on your left."
The three boys immediately headed towards the area you had indicated to them, you thought you heard a whispered "I like her" from one of them but you weren't sure.
"Your friends are cool." You said to Eddie, still leaning on the counter. There seemed to be something there that interested him more than music.
"Don't say it too loud or they'll get to their heads."
You chuckled.
"You don't buy anything?" You asked then, noting that he seemed to have no intention of joining his friends.
"Nah, not this time. They will surely find something. Maybe next time."
"There will be a next time?"
"Of course. You were absolutely right. The girl who works in this new record store is really pretty."
"Oh, I never said she's pretty, just cool."
"Then I say so. She is."
You laughed, shaking your head slightly. It was amazing how Eddie could say the silliest and most trivial things and it only made you like him more.
"Well... who's Corroded Coffin?"
Eddie frowned. "How do you...We're so famous and nobody ever even told me?"
You laughed again. "It's written on your friend's shirt, dumbass."
"Oh! Oh, right. It's my band. I mean, our band." He pointed at first himself and then his friends who were checking some Black Sabbath records. "We have a band."
"Well, Eddie Munson, I gotta say you get more interesting every time I talk to you."
Eddie chuckled. "I swear we don't suck. Even though a lot of people think we do. We play at the Hideout sometimes. You should come, I think... I think you'd have fun."
"Okaaay... you want us to go away and leave you two alone?" Gareth cut you off before you could say you would happily go to see them play, placing two records and twenty bucks on the counter with a slight smile on his lips and you rolled your eyes before handing him the change.
"Well, thanks for stopping by guys, hope to see you again soon."
"Wait" Jeff threw up his hands as if to make sure no one moved. "He didn't ask you out?"
"Sorry, what?"
"Dude!" Gareth poked Eddie on the shoulder, "that's what we came here for! You had one thing to do!"
Eddie snorted, closing his eyes for a brief moment. "I hate you guys."
"You know, you can try now." You smiled before Eddie's gaze met yours again, big brown eyes staring at you hesitantly.
"Try what?"
"Asking me out."
"Oh, right. Yeah. Would you..."
"More confidence! Look her in the eye!" His friends cheered him on from behind and you chuckled at their almost better reaction than the cheerleaders at school.
"Wo...would you like to go out with me?"
"Don't stammer!" Grant exclaimed.
Eddie propped his elbows on the counter again, hiding his face with his hands. "Please just say yes."
You reached out to slowly remove his hands with yours, meeting again two big eyes this time surprised and curious by your kind reaction. "Yes, I'd like to go out with you."
A chorus of "yes!" and "finally!" came from Eddie's friends and you immediately burst out laughing. Your hands were now resting on the counter but still holding Eddie's in yours.
"Sorry," Gareth said, "it doesn't happen often. I mean Eddie having a date."
"What about Saturday when you finish your shift?" Eddie asked.
"Sounds good to me."
"Other customers are coming." Jeff commented.
"We'll better take him away from you right now or he will never leave." Gareth added grabbing Eddie by the arm, starting to drag him away.
"It was nice to meet you!" Grant yelled.
"You too, guys!"
"See you soon!" Eddie smiled at you before the store door closed behind him.
You didn't know if they were aware of the fact that you could see them through the glass even if they couldn't see you, but you liked the way Eddie basically jumped as he reached his van, talking to his friends about what had just happened with a Cheshire Cat smile painted on his face.
God, you already loved that sweet, weird boy and you hadn't had your first date with him yet.
(This won't be a series!)

oh joyous day, my our life now and forever mc, Rena Michou!
Just a bunch of doodles for now I'll do a full body ref and make it purettyy later, maybe… ahh side note i need to learn how to draw tam and qiu qwq something just doesn't look quite right.
and now time to ramble about her: (warning very long)
EDIT: WHY DID NOBODY TELL ME IT SAYS 8W3??? she's supposed to be a 8w7 😭😭😭
She was pretty stand-offish and cold to Tam and Qiu when she first met them, she did not like Qiu at all, from her perspective her Ma's moved her to this town in the middle of nowhere, she accidentally goes into someone's backyard (clearly no way for her to know smh) but she's being the better person and apologising only for him to make fun of her??? Terrible manners. Not only that but he's a show off and has an insufferably smug grin. Not to mention he acts like he knows everything (it's okay when she does it, she's not from a random town in the middle of nowhere).
She still lets him tag along when she goes to find the mystery air plane sender because she's nice like that (how hard was that jeez!) And while Tamarack is loud, she looks a hell of a lot better in comparison to Qiu. Anyway this goes on for a bit with her being annoyed at basically everything he does and tolerating his presence because she's nice (it's because of Tamarack and her Ma). She is however very startled when Qiu gives her the welcome note, she definitely thinks it's a prank or disingenuous, but gosh dang it, he looks so happy she's polite so she'll say thank you.
She starts liking him after the park where they race and she wins, and opposite to all her expectations - because this is something he's been most proud of, he doesn't get upset or annoyed he's even more happy somehow… And that's when she has to accept everything she thought about this guy was wrong.
Some more random stuff about her personality and yeah:
She doesn't get most jokes, and she can't tell teasing apart from being genuinely cruel which is- yeah mostly why she doesn't get along with Qiu at first.
She thrives on the challenge, she's always down to do the riskiest thing for the greatest reward, she likes beating the odds (and proving people wrong).
She places a lot of value on following rules and being polite, two things that have been repeated to her basically her whole life (because she struggled with that growing up), so now she's very opinionated/black and white about it.
She likes listening to rock/alternative music mostly, probably tries picking up the guitar in the future- she'd be bad at it.
She likes strategy and puzzle videogames, absolutely terrible at racing, fighting, and rhythm games.
She's got no problem telling someone no respectfully and doesn't like to compromise at all - but even more she hates other people doing her favours, so she takes the path of least inconvenience.
She really wants to be independent and prove she's responsible and can take care of herself, however she still really respects her Ma
She values getting good grades a lot and she's pretty advanced however her Ma didn't want her to move up grades because of her social development. She is not a big fan of this, probably one of their biggest arguments.
She wasn't exactly bullied persay- but she didn't have any friends before Tam, which is probably in part due to her prickly personality but yeah, not a big fan of people her age.
bonus ms paint scribble because she's so cool !

hi, there! :D I hope to be on time for the event can I request :
(Finding a confession letter in your locker) With Silver, Jade and Deuce? Plz
22. Finding a confession letter in your locker
Hi hi you are very much on time of course you can (^ワ^)
Also just letting you know here, I did get your other request and do not mind answering it at all (though i am going to post some other ones first), in my og post I mentioned the prompts were limited by ask, so you submitted everything correctly, don't worry!
notes: they/them pronouns used for Yuu, fluff, Jade is a red flag as usual. Check out the rest of the event requests here.
Silver
There is an unfairly pretty looking man asleep in front of the gym lockers, face down, arms at his side, but with the light still hitting his hair just right way to make him look like he has a halo. You know that Silver won't be upset if you try to wake him, but as you kneel to do so, the slight creak of an unkempt hinge draws your attention up from your sleeping senior to your own slightly open locker.
Weird, you could have sworn you locked it at the end of class.
"Silver?" You decide to try calling out to him while you examine your locker for any sign of tampering beyond the obvious. "You good down there?" Nothing seems to have been taken, but something has been left: a letter. Gingerly, you remove and settle yourself on the floor next to Silver, gently shaking him as you open it.
Yuu,
I'm afraid that if I try to simply say to you how I feel, I won't be able to fully convey just how grateful I am to have met you, just how much you mean to me. But I want to try and give you a confession you deserve so please, meet me in the courtyard after your classes. I promise to say the words to you then.
-Silver
"I wasn't supposed to still be here when you read that." A muffled voice draws your attention back to Silver, who slowly pushes himself up to look into your eyes. "But since I am, I like you prefect." The words are simple, but the sincerity of his gaze adds the weight he was so afraid of missing.
Jade
You were screwed. The instant you saw the condition of the letter inside that lavender envelope you knew it was never meant to be seen, least of all by the person it was addressed to. The paper was hastily torn from a composition book, crumpled and lightly stained with what you assume from the scent is tea. No, you can't really picture someone as collected as Jade allowing the messy parts of his thoughts to be seen
You are a mystery I want to unravel
I never get tired of your voice
I want to be the first person they think of in the morning and the last thing they imagine at night. When they are alone I want them to long to return to my side, when someone hurts them I want to be the one who repays their enemies in kind. There is a word for these emotions, something that's as wonderfully unpredictable as it is painful-
A head rests on your shoulder, two strong arms pull you into an embrace that prevents you from seeing his face as a deep sigh tickles your ear, reciting from memory the destroyed portion of the letter-
"That word is love, I am in love with Yuu." Jade smiles into your neck as you shudder in surprise. "Since you are not attempting to run away, can I assume I have something of a chance?"
Deuce
"Is it just me or is Juice acting weird today?" Ace asks, slacking off away from Vargas's watchful eyes behind you and Grim. Not that you haven't noticed, but now that Ace mentions it- "I mean he's sneaking out of class, isn't PE the one he's actually good at?" You both look pointedly towards the lockers Deuce is not so sneakily heading towards with concern.
"Um, I'll be right back." You try to hide your concern but the judgmental faces that see you off suggest you aren't exactly successful. Deuce's broad shoulders disappear into the hallway and you attempt to calmly follow. Maybe he's sick? Or has forgot something? You run through so many scenarios that you fail to pay attention to where you are going and walk right into your target's back.
"Prefect!" Deuce jumps and you fluster, both of you look away from each other to the locker Duece had been standing in front of. "I'm sorry." He looks so embarrassed. You reach to open your locker as Deuce continues. "I really am sorry, it's just I thought really hard about the right way to confess but we have almost every class together..." Sure enough there's a letter sat neatly on top of your things, sealed with a neat spade sticker that leaves little doubt about who it's from.
"Technically you just did." You laugh and bring the letter close to your heart. "Meet me at Ramshackle after school."
"Why?" He asks, clearly nervous.
"Well you wanted to properly confess right? So let me properly answer." Technically the smile on your face already does.

player: unnamed - anyone you want OC: female reader who isn't described. type: smut theme warnings: theme of sugar baby / sugar daddy.
-
the already impressive length of the text you're typing out to a friend is growing longer with each second that passes as you wait for him to come out of the shower. you're perched on the edge of the hotel bed, switching between replying to the texts and doing a little online shopping. the hotel that he's paid for is one of four that he books for these nights with you. he will only have the best room, in the best hotel and it shows.
the floor to ceiling windows boast the best 360 views of the city and you can still pinpoint the exact window that had your silhouette pressed against it like the touch from a ghost, leaving your presence within the room for hours after you've physically left it. the room is simple yet everything screams expensive. the mini bar is stocked with bottles of only the finest of champagnes, wines, and selection of spirits. you've image searched the art and it costs more than what he gives you a month. the bedsheets are the highest quality cotton and silk on a bed that was certainly not flat pack.
by the time you're dropping your phone back onto the bed and debating flinging yourself backwards too, he's stepping out of the bathroom in a blur of condensation and towards you.
"it's a good thing you don't have to pay me by the hour for these visits." you state, taking time to allow your gaze to linger over his body as he steps further into the room. the towel he's wearing is hanging low on his hips, not leaving much to the imagination at all.
"and why is that?" he's not oblivious to the way that you drink him in and there's already tell-tale signs of arousal. his own gaze drags over your body, admiring the new lingerie that he had sent your way as a "thinking of you in and out of this" gift. "You took your time," you comment, parting your legs and leaning back slightly as he fills the gap between your thighs and brings his torso close to yours. he's still slightly damp but you don't mind as you slot to him so perfectly it should be a crime to do so.
"you should already be nice and wet for me since you've been waiting so impatiently." he replies with a slight tone that brings a grin to your lips. he leaves enough of a gap to bring your hand between you both, hand reaching for his cock which is already stiffening against the towel. when your mouth opens to retort, he seizes the opportunity to claim your mouth.
Closing your fingers around his covered shaft, you stroke him ever so teasingly, enough to draw a slight whimper from him. you don't have time to be smug about such a thing, because you can already feel his own fingers brushing over the inside of your thigh and against your underwear.
your hips act with a mind of their own and buck up into his touch before you can stop yourself and you mirror the sound he made only moments ago. this arrangement was supposed to be financial only. and while there were no real feelings involved in a romantic sense, you did enjoy the genuine connection and chemistry that the two of you had which couldn't be bought.
"see," he says, middle finger stroking over the gusset of your panties, feeling the silky soaked patch increase as time ticks by. "so wet." "maybe that was from the thought of how I was going to be spending your money" you tease, and he grins; the action making your teeth clash together a little.
"you know what you did last time?" he asks in a quiet voice before his teeth nibble their way over your bottom lip. all you can do is hum your response as his fingers swipe over your swelling clit. "if you do that again, I'll pay for your shopping spree on top of this weeks payment."
the thought of having him powerlessly at your mercy once more is almost too great of an opportunity to pass up. you'd have done it again for free but if he was offering...

29 asks! Thank you!! :)) 🦝
@abaroo @ditzyclown (Referencing this post)
XDD I'm not sure! Evil Grim seems too hot headed and mean to have any real bond with a trainer.. though Evil Sylvester belonging to some pompous rich butthead that treats him like gold seems likely <XDD
As for their good sides,, I haven't really decided if they have one at all. They are supposed to be "evil" versions of Grim and V after all..😅
And I'm also not entirely sure they'd even be friends.. since Evil Sylvester thinks that Gengars as gross, and the two of them have no respect for each other.. it seems pretty unlikely that a friendship would bloom.. 😔
...However.... 👀 That's not to say they couldn't go through some kind of character development and some kind of bond would form..
XDD Kermit you're so chaotic
@badlyblurry
That sounds like a ton of fun actually! :DD Now I just gotta find some of those wheels and challenges- <XDD
(In response to this post)
Aw man... poor little cookie.. <:(
THE BLACK PEAL GAL KILLED THE DIVER??
@briandraws
AKUCHEUFH THANK YOU!! XDDD
@soulful-rodent
I've been thinking a lot about making a master post for my Pokémon stuff, Undertale stuff, Octonauts stuff, etc.. But I just haven't gotten around to it. 💀💀 But I'll keep thinking about it thanks to your ask :00
As for evil Grim and V, I'd love to draw more of them! Maybe even evil/opposite versions of the others.. I just don't have any more ideas for them.. 😔😔😔
@khoiazo (Referencing this post)
XDDD couldn't have described their vibes better myself!
It just makes me really uncomfortable <:/ I prefer comments instead :}
@anikakitty11
Such a cute littol puppo!! 😭😭💞💞💞
I'm not familiar with many dog breeds.. but I can say that they both have the dumb and happy golden retriever energy <XDD
I haven't really thought about what other eeveeloutions he might encounter.. but I imagine a potential encounter with an Umbreon would be very similar to the Espeon encounter.
Maybe he saw the glowing eyes of an Umbreon peeking out of a bush a few feet away.. He froze in shock, recognizing the scent to be an eeveeloution. He looked away for just a second and when he turned back, it was gone..
I'm thinking that over years and years of being together they just naturally built this rock solid friendship and trust. They've had multiple experiences where their friendship was tested but it never broke.
I'm also thinking that a key factor in their friendship is them having the exact came sense of humor XDD They're both idiots
@minnesotamedic186 (Referencing this post)
XDD I see what you mean!
I've seen fanart of it floating around, the game with the.. cat.. slug.? Critters right? :00
@loud-kid2
I haven't actually beaten all the gyms yet- <XDD I've been spending most of my time drawing instead of playing Violet.😅
As for struggling with the gyms, I haven't struggled with any so far! AND THATS NOT ME TRYING TO SOUND COCKY- Most of the fun I have with Pokémon is the collecting part. So for the gyms I just use a type advantage and over level my Pokémon by like 10 levels and plow through the battle.. <XDD
I will say however, the water type gym challenge totally stumped me. <XDD For some reason I just couldn't figure it out and googled the answer in the end.. 😔😔😔
@rusty-doodles
AAAA THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!! :DDD 💞💞
A looooooot of patience and re-drawing <XDD (Also thank you!! :}}} )
I have seen some of it, :0 but I don't know all the new characters they added.. <:0
Not at the moment no.. I'm still on break from the fandom 😵💫
<XD I'm not the first person to think of Tweak dying her hair, so go right ahead! :))
@kermit-ydafrog
XDD I see the resemblance!
XDD No they're not infinite- But I was thinking that they can stretch shockingly far thanks to his mystical fairy typing XD How far that is exactly? I haven't really decided.. 🤔
@cat-noodle
I'm glad you love them! And while I wouldn't usually agree to this,, I'll give you the go ahead to cross stitch the lads XDD
@mimiocto (Sent after this post)
Aww! Sylvester needs a positive interaction after that frighting Espeon encounter <XDD
Ooo! :DD How fun! I should look into getting one too.. 🤔
(Refencing this post)
