Happy Tuesday everyone! After a three day weekend, it’s time to get to work again. What helps you to keep going in your podcasting journey? Is it friends? Family? Your partner? These are all great! One thing that podcasting does do is help you find your voice for a topic, a subject, an idea or a change. This can be very rewarding, especially when you get your first downloads and your audience begins to grow. It’s important to keep it up, to keep challenging yourself for that voice to be heard, you have the ability in you to accomplish your goal. Keep doing it. Let’s think about that as we go through our week! #podcastadvice #podcastvoice #thepodcastpolisher #motivation #active #inspiration #podcast https://www.instagram.com/p/CThNcR1L-R1/?utm_medium=tumblr

Artforms take all shapes and sizes. Podcasting is like that sometimes. Bring color and flare to your podcast, add music, add sound effects, add different voices and certainly add some comedy. With so many things that are extremely serious today, it’s okay to take a breather once in awhile with your podcast. Be real, be sincere, but also lighten things up sometimes. Your audience will thank you for that. #podcastlife #podcastart #communication #mondaymotivation #becool #thepodcastpolisher https://www.instagram.com/p/CXtHoMardKD/?utm_medium=tumblr

What is the best practice for communicating in podcasting? I’ve found recently that Twitter spaces, Clubhouse, and of course the more traditional ways of communicating…email, direct message and even possibly calling people. Another fine way to connect, even in our post pandemic world, going to comic conventions. Yes, I said comic conventions, you wouldn’t believe how many podcasts have booths set up there. And it’s specific. Bring with you your podcast business card, network, talk! Side note, if you go to podcast events, make sure you are prepared to talk seriously about your podcast, this brings new listeners and possibly guest for your show. It can even build your brand. That’s all today. #podcast #podcastlife #podcasttipsandtricks #podcastcommunication #networking #motivation #chat #communicate #thepodcastpolisher https://www.instagram.com/p/CXQztY1rMJS/?utm_medium=tumblr

Hi, it’s Randy the podcast polisher again. Here with a brief tip about connections for podcasting. What is the best way to connect? Email, Twitter, or possibly Facebook. Well what I’m here to tell you will change everything. Their website. Yes, that’s what I said. There is usually always a contact me form on their website and you can connect. Another big thing is the importance of networking. Have you ever been to a comic show or expo or even just a trade show and seen a podcast booth or stand? Go up and say hi. Greet those who are there. You may be connecting with the next large podcast that will take off in the next year. Or you could be the one. Have others on your show, people with similar interests. Those are connections. Bring it to the front. Make yourself known. #motivationmonday #podcasttipsandtricks #podcastconnection #podcastlife #thepodcastpolisher https://www.instagram.com/p/CXJENiwLDwl/?utm_medium=tumblr

I’ve got some major projects this month for podcasting! What do you have going? I think it’s so important to stay busy in the podcasting world. We go through our lives and sometimes it can become monotonous, but I’ve found if you have a passion project, it can change everything you do. It can re-energize the material you have, re-energize who you talk to. Everything. Keep that in mind, the next time you get in a rut, break out of it. You’ll thank me later. #motivation #motivationalmonday #podcastcoaching #breakout #podcast #podcastlife #thepodcastpolisher https://www.instagram.com/p/CWA-UhsLHd1/?utm_medium=tumblr

How do you make a podcast You? Bringing your own personality, your voice to the table. Make it stand out. How do you do that? Listen to other podcast, experiment with how you talk to others, what you say, what your passion is. All of this helps build who you are. Podcasting is you recording you about a subject that you enjoy. All the listeners you get is because of you. Do You Get It? Live in the moment, don’t be shy with podcasting. You can even have a friend join you. You might have to ask yourself personal questions. Who is the real you? What platform do you want to use? How often do you want to record? Get the picture? Share this with anyone who’s hoping to podcast or even get started. #mondaymotivation #podcastcoaching #entrepreneur #personalpodcasting #thepodcastpolisher #podcasttips https://www.instagram.com/p/CVu2RCorfLi/?utm_medium=tumblr

How do you create an amazing introduction? For podcasters this can make or break a podcast. It’s the most crucial too. People will continue listening if they know what the information you present matters to them, or even captures their attention. How can you do that? Keep it simple, precise, and ear catching. What do I mean? Simple means state what is going to happen, precise, give them a nugget that they can’t resist to listen, and ear catching, good audio quality and some catchy royalty free music to capture their hearts when presenting said intro. It can be free, enjoyable and above everything else, believe it yourself. When doing the intro, give your best voice, sit up straight and enjoy what you are saying. Give it some thought , make it your own and have fun! #podcastintro #podcasttips #thepodcastpolisher #podcastlife https://www.instagram.com/p/CVfdJYor8lt/?utm_medium=tumblr

Have you ever thought of your podcast as an academic pursuit? Neither have I, however, I have been able to do two panels at conventions dealing with Soundtrack’s Role in Nerdy Movies. I’m still honing that one, I’m trying to get better, become a better speaker and envoke the right atmosphere for the audience. How do we as podcasters do that? Energy of our listeners and friends who love the show. How do you share your show? Is it via Social Media? I have devoted fans to like my post each and every week. Are they listeners? Pretty sure. Engage with your audience, promote something new, and expand your brand. With that, your podcast will become better than ever. #podcastmotivation #podcastcoaching #podcastlife #motivationalmonday #podcast #thepodcastpolisher https://www.instagram.com/p/CVc0fXrrIxq/?utm_medium=tumblr

Content, what is it about? For myself, I deal with Film and TV not only for the regular person but also for anime fans. My content always has a place. What about yours? What is your content about? How do you use it? How do you draw more people to your podcast? Is it through ads? Is there a pitch you apply? Do you do video or audiograms? What pushes you to create more content or even better content? I’ve found it a constant stuggle to keep content moving through my website and continuing to strive for better. Keep looking for your niche content and keep striving to do more for your podcast so you can say, yes I created that content that people love. Do it, live it. #podcastcontent #podcastlife #growyourpodcast #thepodcastpolisher #podcastcoaching https://www.instagram.com/p/CVSh6_Jr5je/?utm_medium=tumblr

This week is all about content, whether you are starting out or you’ve been doing it a long time, podcast content can be difficult to come up with. Each topic has research attached to it. Each subject needs focus. Now granted, there are subject podcast that just fly around all kinds of topics. Here we are talking specifics. If you have a history podcast, bring out something you don’t think others have covered. If it’s comedy, keep it fresh and new. Crime? The latest news reports or notice of certain types. Even film and tv, keep up with what is trending or even being watched. This is to start the conversation. You need content to fill out your show and make it relatable but most importantly engaging. Keep this in mind all this week and maybe you’ll gain more followers, more listeners. #content #podcastcontent #podcastconversation #podcasttopics #thepodcastpolisher #podcastcoaching https://www.instagram.com/p/CVKzf1UL9ZL/?utm_medium=tumblr

How do you sound through your headphones? How is your microphone set up? Your microphone should be at least five to six inches from your mouth and you should not talk directly into it. This causes problems, creates echo, creates unwanted noise. You should be able to adjust where your microphone sits, have a scissor arm to hold the microphone up, or have your microphone positioned where it won’t be in the way of you seeing your computer. Edits take time, make the most of your equipment and put them to good use. #podcastmicrophone #scarysounds #podcastediting #podcastcoaching #microphones #soundquality #thepodcastpolisher https://www.instagram.com/p/CVAgU9Mrjmq/?utm_medium=tumblr

This may not seem to connect to the Monday post, it does really! Content is so important for your show, if there isn’t anything interesting for your podcast then the listeners won’t stay engaged. You need good content. Start with a passion, or an idea that you enjoy talking about, stick with it. Conversational podcast work better when there is a certain topic. Listeners don’t want to hear someone yammer about 8 different subjects in one podcast unless they are all related to each other. Make sure your content stays true to you. Don’t let it slide. Keep strong with your views and your goals. Only you can accomplish that. #podcastcontent #thepodcastpolisher #podcastcoaching #entrepreneur #podcastgoals #podcastlife https://www.instagram.com/p/CU7VZXNrvix/?utm_medium=tumblr

Whether you are on your own for podcasting or whether you are with a team, there is a process. 1. Research and topic. 2. Record Time. 3. Edit Time. 4. Listen through again. 5. Distribute. 6. Market. There are different steps. These may not be in the order that you do them. That’s okay! It’s however your process is. The process still exist. Live it. #theprocess #podcastcoaching #cogsinamachine #stepsinpodcasting #thepodcastpolisher #podcasting #podcastinglife #motivation https://www.instagram.com/p/CUub1zpr5PT/?utm_medium=tumblr

Is having a louder sound necessarily better sound? That’s a matter of perspective. Having a microphone and turning up the sound, thinking you need to sound louder isn’t always correct. It may be that you need to make adjustments to your recording software, or the settings to make you sound better. This is all a beginning to know that even if you have a soft voice, you can still create sound that is good, but not necessarily really loud. That is what the microphone is for, don’t forget that your microphone amplifies your voice. So loud is not good sound. It’s how you project yourself through your microphone or through the recording . Remember that, don’t forget that your voice is powerful and wonderful. Keep using it. #sound #podcastsound #podcastcoaching #podcastlife #soundquality #loud #thepodcastpolisher https://www.instagram.com/p/CT4YFpRLwY6/?utm_medium=tumblr

Today I’m talking about sound buffers. What helps? Sound foam! You can buy it fairly cheap. Usually it can come in 12 packs and you can apply it to walls or doors or put it on a board and use it when podcasting. Why is it so important? It helps to lessen the amount of sound bouncing around a room. Even when you are in a large empty room, you can be able to generate a better sound quality when you have sound foam to buffer that sound. This can improve your sound by ten fold. Check it out, find some on eBay. Use it when podcasting. Improve your sound! #soundimprovement #podcastcoaching #thepodcastpolisher #soundquality #soundfoam #podcastadvice #soundadvice https://www.instagram.com/p/CT10a4tr2H8/?utm_medium=tumblr
