theodore rheist and talia calaise were childhood friends who reconnected as adults. loners all their lives, they felt an instant kinship upon meeting again. though theodore never would have presumed an educated, talented, and well-off lady to remember him, one thing led to another and they were hastily married and expecting within a year (and... not in that order)  with talia's dowry and the bit of money and connections he had scraped by in his apprenticeship, theo purchased the deed to an abandoned farmhouse in brindleton bay. he wasn't sure how he would bring his elegant wife to a place that run down - on the salary of a physician's assistant, it would take years for it to be remodeled.
