"They are probably dead!" 

Scott continued sipping his tea as he flipped to the sports section, letting his husband rant and rave until he ran out of steam. 

"I should call the police, right? That rickety cabin probably burned to the ground, and I have no idea where they are!"

Scott choked on his tea, "Rickety Cabin? I highly doubt that, and she texted you when they got there. Auggie, we talked about this. Boundaries. They are just on vacation," he sighed shaking his head. 

August glared at him, hands on his hips, his blue eyes flashing wildly. 

"My sister is supposed to be getting engaged! What if she fell off a cliff? What if Jones murdered her? I mean his nice guy, hot mechanic routine could have just have been a cover. He could be like the BTK of the eastern seaboard!"

"Alright, I love you but for you to even suggest that Killian, our Killian has some dormant serial killer personality means that you've hit your limit and I am putting you to bed." 

He moved and scooped August up, who sputtered indignantly and continued his ranting as Scott headed up the steps past the taped moving boxes. 

"Fine, so he isn't a serial killer. Did he ask her? How are you so calm!" Scott tossed him onto their bed where he lay like a sack of potatoes, muttering at the ceiling. 

"I expect that he did ask, and we are allowing them their privacy. Boundaries. Practice them, because once we move you cannot barge into their home on a whim." 

Scott moved to turn off the lights, and August scooted beneath the covers, huffing. "Boundaries aren't a thing with us! If I want to see my sister, then I have every right to walk in, and make breakfast!"

Scott pulled him by his collar and kissed him. "You are a lunatic, and I love you."

August grumbled and drew the sheet up beneath his arms. "What if a bobcat attacked them? Surely I should call the local authorities to ask."

"Sleep August. Sleep."

"Fine. But I am calling if I don't hear from her tomorrow."

"That's the spirit. Now sleep," Scott muttered before putting his earplugs in.

I think one of the things I love about dustbuddies is the same thing I love in silrah. And also lavenderbudd come to think about it.

Initially you'd think "oh they're totally just professional colleagues. Nothing more, nothing less." and then...things happen. There's that look™, that hand grasp™ (that definitely wasn't casual but trying hard to look like one). So you go over their previous interactions again and watch it closely this time. Could that statement that seemed so professional actually bear a hint of a plea in it? Could that seemingly causally placed hand on the back be a promise of an even lower hand placement later in the privacy of their rooms?

I dunno. There's just something so delicious about watching two professionals trying to act casual and professional in a professional setting but at the same time unable to stop giving each other heart eyes.

Fandoms I write for: I’m not active but I’ve written for Roslin/Adama (Battlestar Galactica), Julia/David (Bodyguard), Alex/Gene (Ashes to Ashes), Bernie/Serena (Holby City), Hecate/Ada (The Worst Witch 2017) + co-written some Scully/Mulder (The X Files), including a Roslin/Adama/Scully/Mulder crossover

Two-shot: I’ve always been more of a one shot writer. Sometimes I make the mistake of starting a longer story and then have trouble finishing.

Most popular multichapter: A Deep Connection (Julia/David - Bodyguard). The reactions to the fic absolutely blew me away.

Actual Worst part of writing: For me it’s the discipline to keep going. I have plenty of ideas that I’m happy to start writing but then after a couple of chapters, even though I know where I’m going, I just struggle to get myself to open the document and get back to writing.

How you choose your titles: In a panic when I have a fic to post but can’t think of a title. Usually it’s something pretty random that somehow ties into the story - if even that.

Do you outline: I really, really should, but I don’t. With one shots it’s not really a problem because I’m usually thinking of some specific moment or scene I want to write about or expand on and then I just write and see where it goes. With longer stories I have a bit more in mind in terms of where it starts, what happens, and where it ends, but whatever outline there is only exists in my head.

Ideas I probably won’t get to but it would be nice: Oh boy, so many. The one I most wish I could write but know I just don’t have the writing chops for, is a sort of Ashes to Ashes/Line of Duty cross over where Lindsay Denton, after her death, ends up in Gene’s world in the 90s. He has more or less forgotten about the old team and Alex but there’s something about Lindsay that starts jogging his memory. In the end, Gene would enter the pub to join Alex and his mates while Lindsay would take over as the protector of the world he created.

Best writing habits: Just write...it might be shit at first but that’s what rewrites are for.

Spicy opinions: Don’t know if I have any as it’s been a while since I’ve published anything new. But if you read and like what you read, please also let the author know with a comment. Sometimes it can be the thing that motivates someone to keep going when the writer’s block strikes. Edit: Forgot to tag anyone but feel free to do this if you’ve ever written fic.

hi! i have absolutely no idea how tumblr works, so i am assuming this is tumblr's version of a DM? anyways, just wanted to say that i absolutely ADORE your writing. i read "Fugitive" on AO3 which led me to post your about why Julia and David were, in fact, very much in love. boy, was it a long one. still, whilst reading it, i couldn't help but be utterly in awe of your diction and writing style. i'm currently a student, but i hope that one day i'll be able to write with the same prowess as you!

Hey there, THANK YOU and I AM SORRY. I briefly turned into a "Doctor Who" blog as the 60th anniversary specials were airing. Just catching up now with all my other fandoms! Welcome to tumblr (which does have a messaging app) but this is totally fine (asks can be responded to publically or privately). I always love hearing that my stories are still being read and enjoyed. I briefly came out of self-imposed retirement to pen "Fugitive" and because I felt so strongly about the pairing, despite the fact that we got so little of them. What was there was so rich, hence the long meta post(s?) which is kinda my thing and I make no apologies for it. (I'm also a student (lit crit of course) and I have worked as a writing coach too. I always say that you never stop improving your writing and the best way to improve it is simply to WRITEWRITEWRITEWRITE). I wrote another long meta post about David and Julia but tumblr banned it (cos sex with the Home Secretary is a heinous crime apparently).
