Part 7

Last time: Nancy finishes filling Eddie in on what he's missed

“Ok, Wheeler,” Eddie says a little too loud. He claps his hands together and rubs them back and forth, hoping the friction and heat will help him burn away his anxious energy. It all comes down to this. He’s dreading and anticipating the conversation in equal measure, so it’s better to rip the band aid off sooner rather than later. After all, Nancy was right. He came all this way for answers only she could give him. “Tell me about her.”

She sighs, like she’s been gearing up for this part of the conversation. "I introduced them in July, but they've known each other for a while. It took me a bit to convince Steve to agree to a date, but Becky was so head over heels for him that–"

"Wait," Eddie cuts her off. He repositions himself so his legs are tucked under him, curled up against his corner of the couch. Nancy changes her position and mirrors him. "Becky? As in, the Becky you work with? As in the Becky I just met earlier today? That Becky."

Guilt flashes across Nancy's face before she tucks it away again. She sits up a little straighter and yeah, now Eddie's ready to start an argument. He feels like a complete idiot. No wonder Nancy looked so uncomfortable while the woman was here, she clearly wasn't planning on Eddie crossing paths with her. Becky seemed awkward, but in a normal sort of way. Like she didn’t even know–.

"Oh shit," Eddie says absently, "she doesn't know who I am, does she?"

Nancy sighs, shaking her head, "no, she doesn't know about you." Her eyebrows scrunch, and she wiggles her hand back and forth, like maybe she's backtracking a bit. "She knows you're mine and Mike's half brother." Nancy holds up a finger, ticking off each fact about his existence, the only pieces of him that matter anymore. "She knows you're a rock star. She knows you're estranged on bad terms with Mike and I. That's why she thinks no one talks about you."

"And what?" Eddie gets up, burning off the energy by pacing around the room, waving his arms and generally making himself larger to gain some space. Big and scary and dramatic enough to chase his problems away when he's afraid. "They’ve been seeing each other for more than six months. They’re fucking engaged, and somehow no one's ever mentioned that Steve and I were together? Not a single person has ever slipped up?"

"Eddie, other than Mike and I, no one mentions you at all. Ever."

He freezes, mouth dropped open to argue, arms raised with angry emphasis. His initial burst of energy now kindling into a fury, all but snuffed out by a simple sentence. His body slumps to the floor, and Eddie wants to cry, to release the disgusting sense of rejection by his own family. Except it seems they only support his Angel. No sympathy for the devil, and all that.

"It's like I never existed?"

"I told you," Nancy says softly, reaching out to cup his cheek. He hadn't noticed her move, crouched next to him on the floor. There's pity in the thin line of her lips and disappointment in the creases of her brow. "Steve asked us not to, so we didn't. It was the least we could do to help."

Eddie nods his head, a hollow agreement if only to get Nancy to stop talking. Let him take a breath to process. How is he meant to react when she makes it sound so easy to forget him. Easy enough to pretend his life with Steve meant nothing at all, so unimportant that Steve’s spending the rest of his life with someone who’s missing eight years worth of information. And apparently everyone’s just ok with that.

I need Lesbian couple Ronance with their skater daughter Max and Gay couple Steddie with their autistic son Dustin who are all neighbors and it’s really awkward because Steve and Nancy are exes and Max is technically Steve’s legal daughter as well.

The thing is— Nancy and Steve aren’t just exes, they’re ex-wife and ex-husband. Divorced. Out of each other’s lives other than Max.

Max knew 100% that they were moving next door to Steve (her dad) and chose to stay silent about it because 1) she lives for drama and 2) it means she doesn’t have to go so far to see him and can spend more time seeing him.

Of course Dustin is 100% aware of this and enables it fully.

I was trying to think of a way to include Mike in this cause he’s Nancy’s younger brother and as funny as it would be for Mike to technically be Max’s (and Dustin’s) uncle I think I’m just going to have him be Robin and Nancy’s legal child because Madwheeler siblings is a must.

Dustin and Max know each other from Max’s weekend and Holiday visits. Mike and Dustin know each other from school and are ofc really close friends but don’t know about their “parent situation”.

Robin and Steve are still best friends but Nancy has no idea that Robin’s precious “Evie” is is her ex-husband and Steve knows that Robin is Nancy’s new fiancé but doesn’t say anything because he assumes that Robin knows about their history already. (She does know but she doesn’t realize that Steve is /that/ Steve.)

Eddie’s just kind of there— but I really want him and Nancy to meet while Eddie is working on her car (mechanic Eddie my beloved) and Eddie takes a moment but goes “omg your my husband’s ex-wife!” in typical Eddie fashion and Nancy has no idea what to do with this new information.

None of the kids call Steve, Eddie, Robin and Nancy mom or dad (just cause that feels weird to write outside of it being a bit). They’ve all agreed on first names— considering that both couples are only in their mid-late 20s (maybe early 30s??).

Will, El and Lucas are ofc mentioned— all having their normal canon families (with Wonder Twins). They are also 100% in on the “parent situation” and are also fully enabling it cause it’s funny as hell and Will and El’s favorite movie is The Parent Trap.

Mike is also in on the “parent situation” but he doesn’t know that he is also part of the situation (being Ronance’s legal child). He knows Dustin’s parents ofc, but it never clicks that Steve is /that/ Steve (like Robin lol). He only really figures it out when he goes over after school and Max is there and Mike’s like “why tf are u here?” and Dustin’s like “Mike that’s my sister” and Mike’s like “no that’s MY sister” and Max is watching the entire thing unfold because she knew the entire time.

I love how this sounds so far and I am absolutely planning on making it happen. Prolly gonna call it The Parent Trap For Morons.

You have absolutely 💯 sent me down a rabbit hole with your laundrygate and doorgate theories!!

This is such a ramble of thoughts so forgive the length. I apologize sincerely if someone already has shared a similar opinion but....what if our favorite unreliable narrator really was under an illusion during his kidnapping? What if Will does have powers which led to him being Vecna's first victim? And what if the weird time inconsistencies aren't due to time manipulation but rather space-time.

In the first episode, the Duffers give us the Xmen 134 reference. Most people quickly connected that to Brenner's manipulation of El and how she later defeats the demogorgan. The parallels are there for sure but if Will really was under an illusion and does have powers than there's a possible bigger parallel.

Without going to deeply into comic lore or nitty-gritty specifics of the Phoenix Force abilities, the villain Mastermind, in a bid to control Jean Grey and her powers, creates incredibly vivid illusions to awaken her true potential. This eventually gives rise to the Dark Phoenix. The Phoenix Force can manipulate space-time. Create and destroy universes. Edit timelines by changing both the past and the future. Be in two places at once.

What if the Mindflayer was already watching Will and was connected to him much like the Phoenix watched Jean since she was a child? Both making them targets for villains who see their potential and much like Mastermind, Vecna's vivid illusion triggered something far more powerful than he was prepared.

Space-time capabilities would explain why Will's vanishing is similar to teleportation. It would also explain why Barb's disappearance was similar if the mindflayer and Will already had a connection which allowed the demogorgan to simply move between worlds. And why Will and the Mindflayer can exist simultaneously in the UD and out. His communicating with Joyce and El while in the UD. The strange gaps in time could be editing from the part of his mind that was already connected to the Mindflayer. He is a spy after all.

What I personally find vexing is that Will's true sight ability simply disappeared after the end of his possession despite having had it prior to. Did the Mindflayer absorb some of the ability since Will and Flayed Billy were both able to communicate with El in the void? Or did Owens install Soteria in Will at the end of season 2 since season 4 revealed that he and Brenner knew about Vecna what he did to his victims? Owens knows vecna wants to destroy the world and if he suspected that Will could spy again, installing soteria would make sense because it would limit the connection. It also links up with his neck spidersense and could be why Will's expressions when discussing Owen look like he doesn't really trust him....because you know, he's a spy.

Here's to him being a successful double spy next season.

OMG PLS NO NEED TO APOLOGIZE BECAUSE THIS IS ABSOLUTELY GENIUS!!!! IM SO SORRY I TOOK SO LONG TO GET AROUND TO THIS ASK!! Everything you said about the xmen 134 really caught my eye, because  I had no clue about the lore behind it!! and i personally DEFINITELY think that will was under some sort of illusion/space time fuckery the night he disappeared, because theres way too many small, purposeful inconsistencies for them all to be production mistakes, including things like the gun still being on the rack in the shed AFTER will disappears, but then gone again when hopper goes in the shed the next day. And the fact that the xmen 134 comic + all of the genius parallels you’ve described here is mentioned in the same episode that will disappears in, right before he disappears?? There’s no way it’s a coincidence.  When you described “The Phoenix Force can manipulate space-time. Create and destroy universes. Edit timelines by changing both the past and the future. Be in two places at once,” I actually immediately thought of will’s season 2 episodes, considering that even dustin, lucas and mike say that it’s different from dnd true sight, considering that with dnd true sight, the person cannot be hard by the other world, but will IS able to be harmed by the mindflayer/the upside-down. So, will’s abilities definitely point towards being physically present in both the real world and the upside-down at the same time, and physically able to interact with both at the same time (ie, when will walks out of the arcade in the upside-down, he also physically walks out of it in the real world.)  ”Space-time capabilities would explain why Will's vanishing is similar to teleportation. He is a spy after all.” YES I LOVE THIS IT MAKES SENSE!!!  OKAY, SO: personally, i don’t think that it actually disappeared, especially since he had the ability prior to his possession/had his first episode in the show at the end of season 1- instead, I think that his powers/true sight possibility went “dormant,” in a similar way that El’s powers did + how she had to use nina to get them back. However, it’s also strange to me that will’s episodes seem to have ended as of season 3, but his neck tingles/connection to vecna still remains.  I think that everything you’ve mentioned here regarding will and flayed billy or owens and soteria are absolutely viable theories, and I’m honestly not sure what the answer is. And that’s also a very good point about linking up with the neck spidersense!!! And regarding flayed billy, when you mentioned that, it brought to mind the fact that billy sort of sees a “clone” of himself in the upside-down that talks to him, and like i’ve pointed out before, there’s that weird netflix still image on the pause screen that shows will looking into the shed at the EXACT moment that he would have disappeared: did we somehow have a weird will-clone situation going on???  It’s also interesting that during the scene where will is talking about owens with mike in s4, there’s that blooper of noah going “when i was the spy,” so that is another, albeit small, link between owens and spy imagery. It’s also interesting to me that owens was pre-emptively working on nina in the case of el losing her powers/needing them back again, so he’s definitely been thinking pretty far ahead with this sort of stuff, so i think there’s definitely a possibility that he was worried about will spying again.  My brain is total mush today so apologies if my reply is all over the place, but this is all absolutely brilliant and i love it, and im going to be thinking about it!!

You smelled Ritchie's room, old cigarettes and cheap cologne. Your eyes fluttered open and saw Richie kneeling in front of you, the rest of the loser’s seemed to be at the door, waiting. You hummed as Richie ran one of his hands through your hair. “Where are you (y/n)?” “Right here.” You smiled and he leaned down to kiss the top of your head. Deep down you knew it was only a dream, but it felt so real. So close.

“(y/n)!” You sat up and gasped for air, Mike had his hand on your shoulder, the sunlight was pouring in from the draped windows. “What the fuck, Mike.” He frowned, “you were… talking in your sleep.” “Oh, what’d I say?” “I don't know. Something about home.” “Oh.” You rubbed your eyes and yawned, “what time is it?” Mike looked down at his watch. “Almost 9. Everyone's outside waiting. We made a map so we could figure out how you got here.” You laughed, “I think your going to need more than that.”

Sure enough everyone was outside waiting. Mike and Lucas showed you the map and told you what the plan was. “You know we could just ask E-” “No.” Mike interrupted Dustin. “We’re not asking her. Not yet anyway.”

The 6 of you set out on the train tracks, they went past the lab you had seen the day before apparently. You didn't say much. Dustin and Will were talking about comics in the back, then Lucas and Max were holding hands in the middle, and finally in the front, you and Mike were walking side by side in silence. “Why were you in the sewers anyway?” Mike asked. You bit your lip, “You're going to think I’ve lost it.” He frowned, “I- I saw a clown.” Mike laughed, “a clown?” You scoffed and rolled your eyes. “It wasn't a normal clown shithead, it wasn't at a fair or something. It came up behind me in the middle of the night, I was walking home from Richie’s and then it was just, there. So I ran, and then there were these balloons and they were everywhere and then I found the sewers so I was hiding and then something just, pulled me in.”

Mike stayed quiet for a while, “you're serious aren't you.” You nodded and kicked up some of the rocks from the tracks. “Shit.” “Yeah, it was in the upside down too.” “Does that mean it could come here?” “I guess.” Mike shuddered. “I hope it doesn't.” You two walked on, the only sounds being Will and Dustin's chatter and the gravel beneath you.

You felt something. Right in the center of your chest, at first it was dull, but then suddenly it got stronger. You stopped, “It hurts.” You placed a hand over your heart, it grew stronger again. You let out a yelp as your dropped to your knees. Your ears started to ring, you could feel your heartbeat pounding in your chest.  “Wha-what is it?!” Mike asked. You put your head down and clenched your teeth. “It burns.” Will suddenly was right by your side. “Did it get you? Before? Was it inside of you?” You shook your head. “No, I ran- it didn't catch me.” the ringing in you ears was louder and you opened your eyes and looked up. You screamed, there It was, only a few yards away. It was smiling, holding a bird book you knew too well covered in spots of blood with thick glasses folding over the cover.

Mike grabbed your cheeks and forced you to look at him. He was yelling something but you couldn't hear him, the ringing in your ears was too loud. Then everything stopped. The pain, the ringing, the sensation of Mikes hands on your cheeks. You were surrounded by black. You frantically looked around. There was nothing, until a chuckle rang out from behind you. You turned around to see the clown with two children on either side, they were bloody and rotten, one was missing half of its neck and the other had no arms from the elbow down. You stepped back. “Come with us (y/n)” the armless one said, you shook your head, “We all float here!” the other giggled. “No.” You took another step back. “But we want you (y/n)!” “It's nice here, we have lots of balloons!” “real big red ones!” you took another step back. “Please…” you felt tears on your cheeks. “We all float!” “We all Change.” you took another step back when the clown suddenly started to run towards you.

“(y/n)!” You opened your eyes, blinded by sunlight. “Richie… Stan” Mike was kneeling in front of you with his hands on your shoulders. “Who? What? What just happened?” You shook your head. “It was here. I was somewhere else.” You looked around to Will. “It was empty and black. H-he tried to get me. I-I-” “I think it’s time to get El dude.” Dustin said. Mike frowned and nodded.

He helped you up and moved to the back of the line, he was helping to stay up with an arm wrapped around your waist holding you too him and your arm over his shoulders. He asked you questions but you weren't paying attention. You couldn't get the two kids out of your head, they couldn't have been much older than 6 and 8, you think you’ve seen them around. Your body was mostly limp against his, putting most of your effort into keeping your head up.  

They brought you to a cabin. It had a trip wire (which you almost setoff) Mike handed you off to Dustin and he knocked on the door 3, then 2 and then 3 more times. For a second it seemed as if no one was home but then you heard blots unlocking on the other side and the door swung open. “Mike?” You heard a small voice say, “Hey, I- we need help.” Mike moved aside and pointed to you. A girl with black eyeshadow and slicked back hair stepped out onto the pouch, “Why?” She frowned at you. “She came from the upside down.” The girl's demeanor suddenly changed and she let all of you in. “Put her on the bed.”

They did as told and relayed everything that had happened so fair. She nodded along, worry grew on her face with their words. You sat up and leaned against the head broad. “Can you help?” You asked, she shook her head, “I don't know, but I can try… whose Richie and Stan?” “My friends, well two my friends, we’re a club.” “Club?” You laughed realizing how pathic this was going to sound. “Yeah, the losers club.” She gave you a confused look and Dustin busted out laughed.

“Where are they?” You shrugged. “Somewhere in Derry I’d imagine.” She nodded. “Could they help?” You shrugged again, “I don't know. Maybe.” She nodded and put a hand on your head. “Don’t be afraid and don’t resist, close your eyes.” You gave Mike a final glance and shut your eyes. You were back in the black place, only this time El was with you. It was so cool you could see your breath. “Where are we?” You asked. She looked at you and gave a small nod, “In-between.”

Stranger Things 3

Ok, I have absolutely no idea where to start. Like, I don't even know what to say. Season 3 was definitely my favorite it was just awesome the story was so good it was just everything was so so good. But I have to get into the spoilers because I want to talk about everything so if you haven't watched it please watch it just leave everything and go watch it.

Alright so as I said before I don't know where to start, there is so much to say about this season OMG. But I guess I want to start once again with Steve because I love him he was great last season and he was even greater in this one. I absolutely adore the friendship between him and Dustin it is the greatest thing they are so incredibly funny. When Dustin came to see Steve for the first time after he was back and they do that handshake oh my goodness it was the coolest and funniest thing. And Robin, I really like Robbin she is very smart and I really hoped she would be with Steve because let's be honest as much as I love Nancy she does not deserve Steve anymore. I also really like Erica she is so cool and actually, I think Steve’s, Robin’s, Dustin’s and Erica’s storyline was my favorite it was awesome. Another thing that I liked very much was how all groups have gathered information through the season about what is going on, and the end they all come together and put their information on the table and the stories where all connected to each and it was like a big puzzle they have resolved, I really liked that. But my other absolutely favorite thing was the part pretty much at the beginning where Max and Eleven spend time together and are talking about El’s relationship with Mike and Max is giving her advice and on the other side Lucas is giving Mike advice, that was so funny I laughed so much. Besides I really liked the friendship between El and Max I like that they are friends. Oh God and it was so sweet when Mike said that he loves El and ah I just love them together. But now let’s talk about Hopper like what was the matter with him this season he seemed so angry all the time and yes I totally understand why he was angry with Mike and I also felt sorry for him when Joyce stood him up but he seemed very different this season but I still like him and it made me sad when he died although, I know it is almost impossible but I think he is somehow is still alive like, I mean he can't be dead there is no Stranger Things without him besides in the very end of the last episodes after some credits there is the scene in Russia and the one guard says: “ Not the American” maybe it is Hopper, maybe they somehow managed to capture him I don't know I just hope he is alive. And I felt so sorry for Joyce like the poor women has lost another person she loved. I like Joyce she is very cool and I like when she gets angry and is like no you listen to me and just she is greate she was very cool this season. Oh, and I also like that guy I forgot his name, the one how helped Joyce and Hopper with Alexei he is so funny but seriously if someone tells you to stay in the car because it is dangerous well then stay in the car. Let’s move on with Nancy and Jonathan, I still don't like Jonathan and I think I never will and he just bothers me. And it freaked me out when Nancy was treated badly by those people from the newspaper and Jonathan didn’t support Nancy like hello??? And that scene at the hospital where those thing is traying to built himself up again and they are just starring at it like people that thing is going to kill you can you please run. And that we are talking about the monster lets move one with Billy like we don't like Billy right? He was mean and everything but God I felt so sorry for him at the end and I didn't want him to die it was really sad because Max was so upset and Billy saved El and just above everything he has done I felt sorry for him because he only turned this way because of his dad and he missed his mom. Will, I almost forgot to say something about him, I like him and it broke my heart when he was angry and upset because Mike and Lucas were busy with the girls and he just wanted to play D&D and when he destroyed the photo from Halloween and Castel Buyers it was all so sad. That poor boy has been through so much. But now the end let’s talk about the end, I cried like I really cried when El was reading Hopper's latter and when they all said goodbye to each other it was so sad. I can understand why Joyce wanted to move out of that town like I would have moved out after what happened in the first season but still, l it was so sad. And we just have to get a season 4 right? The story is not over there is still so much left open, like what happened to El’s powers? Will the powers come back? How is her relationship with Mike going to work and in general the friendship between the party because we don't know how far away Will, El, Joyce, and Jonathan move out, there are so many questions. I just need a season 4, there must be a season 4  it can't end like this. But to sum up, everything I just loved this season it is my absolute favorite.
