My Thoughts on.. №17: the Metaverse. I think it is a logical and inevitable progression of communication and entertainment. There are many benefits in being able to go anywhere, anytime, meeting anyone, however you please and in a much more natural manner. But somehow the biggest corporations manage to make it seem like the least appealing and most cartoony thing ever. It's like they looked into every piece of related fiction and took only the bad aspects from those dystopias. The best thing about the metaverse will be the personal freedom it offers, whereas the corporations wish to control that as always. The difference is that they have never been so blatant about it.

In a world where social media plays a significant role in people's lives, and there's a culture of people who #doitforthegram and buy clothes specifically to post on social media and discard them after, could digital fashion be a middle ground for consumerism and sustainability?
It’s human nature to be attracted to the novelty of ‘new’ but perhaps that ‘new’ can exist in a digital world. 
Take the digital-only retail platform DRESSX for example. DressX is an app that sells digital fashion that can be photoshopped onto pictures that customers can post on social media, showing them wearing an outfit that doesn't actually exist.
