He definitely says something like that but I think your reasoning is spot on, another option I considered myself was that it is Merlin who eventually trains the candidates and maybe Harry was trying to take some guilt off Merlin, cause he did just train the new recruits and probably grew attached to the final two. "You have chosen" well could mean in this context that I'm sorry Lee died but he died doing a damn good job and he deserved to be there. Or he could have said "You've trained him well"

Yes, some people mentioned that he said 'you trained him well.'

(( The shot to the head leaves Harry's memories lost, all but a few, the church ecounter is one thing he remembers very vividly as well as glimpses of a dinner with Valentine and a meeting with him at the taylors. His clothes bloodied and disposed off after he was rushed to the hospital Harry has no ID or anything on him as well as no traces of the Kingsman emblem. This leaves the man believing that he was working with Valentine and he should go after Kingsman to avange his death ))
