So I made an improvised Femlock cosplay cause I recently purchased contact lenses for a cosplay and I though why not cosplay Sherlock as well?
Well, this is how it turned out after some hours with my camera and Photoshop.
It makes me nervous upload this cause I dunno if I look like a female versión of him at all D: Hope you like it!

where was Sherlock hiding???
inspired by the discussion abput this post I had a closer look at one scene that bothered my since my wirst watch of TST:
Where the fuck does Sherlock come from at the pool in TST???
because, look…
This is what we see of the pool area as father picks up his daughter
Tumblr media Tumblr media
no Sherlock
then they are leaving the area
Tumblr media Tumblr media
no Sherlock
the father litarally just left that area by walking through that door by passing that wall, you know…. and than:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
here he is…please welcome the master of appearing out of nowhere…did he hide behind the wallpapers or what??? Or you know…it isn’t real??? Because combined with the heart beat and monitor sounds… I would think of…maybe… EMP? like…hiding in plain sight ;-))))
Thoughts? Ideas?

Alright guys, I asked Mark and Steven about Garridebs!
Mark, very sincerely and personably (make of that what you will), agreed with me about the moment’s emotional importance, and expressed that he had really hoped to include the scene. He said that they (I can’t remember his wording exactly) either tried it or he ran through some possible scenarios and it wouldn’t have fit anywhere (this depends on the different opinions of “was Johnlock intended to be fulfilled or not”). He mentioned the writing phenomenon of “kill your babies” when saying how much he wanted to do the scene. He even called it “throttle the nursery” because it was such a big blow to him.
Steven said that there have been plenty of scenes where Sherlock and John’s care for each other has been shown (his exact emphatic words were “yes yes they would just say wow this is my favorite person!”) and so the Garridebs scene would not be a revelation of that care, as it was in the novels in Victorian times. He said the moment itself is “a retelling of The Red Headed League, but not as good”. I could tell that this is a question he’s been asked before or has thought on a lot, because he delivered the answer very straightforward and with an air of, he’s tired of explaining this and finds it very obvious.
So, interpret all this however you want, I mean shit I still have my strong opinions in this. But I’m just very glad to have been able to ask them both, and in a more private and informal setting, and actually get answers. @teaandqueerbaiting @northray @isitandwonder @the-blue-carbuncle @skulls-and-tea @themanandthemachine @sherlock-overflow-error @marcespot @monikakrasnorada @thedepthsofmyshame @missmuffin221

Can someone ask him at a con? For the purposes of...
Yes!! Perfect idea!!!! Strictly for scientific reasons ;)
While we’re at it, and the Sherlocked cons on the horizon, can we start a list of questions to ask. I mean, I have 4 million, but honestly, really some questions they might be willing to answer? I’ll start:
1) What was the reason (was there a reason, or was it just for shits and giggles) that Culverton Smith looked like the poor man’s psycho version of John Watson? Really, why? When there was never a hint to it in the text of the show.
2) As for things never mentioned- John’s hair. That Sherlock never uttered a word about it is beyond fishy. Fess up.
Anyone else got burning questions? Let’s make a list and hope any of us are lucky enough to get the chance to ask.

The Lady From Shanghai (1947) & Swimming With Sharks
This is just one of the Orson Welles films that will have meta, where we see it influencing the Sherlock series. Links to other relevant film noir that have been done so far, are at the bottom of the post.
Plot: Irish sailor Michael O'Hara (Welles) meets the beautiful blonde Elsa (Rita Hayworth) as she rides a horse-drawn coach in Central Park. Three hooligans waylay the coach. Michael rescues Elsa and escorts her home. Michael reveals he is a seaman and learns Elsa and her husband, disabled criminal defense attorney Arthur Bannister (Sloane), are newly arrived in New York City from Shanghai. They are on their way to San Francisco via the Panama Canal. Michael, attracted to Elsa despite misgivings, agrees to sign on as an able seaman aboard Bannister's yacht.
They are joined on the boat by Bannister's partner, George Grisby (Glenn Anders), who proposes that Michael "murder" him in a plot to fake his own death. He promises Michael $5,000 and explains that since he would not really be dead and since there would be no corpse, Michael could not be convicted of murder (reflecting corpus delicti laws at the time). Michael agrees, intending to use the money to run away with Elsa. Grisby has Michael sign a confession.
Welles as Michael O'Hara in The Lady from Shanghai (1947) On the eve of the crime, Sydney Broome (Ted de Corsia), a private investigator who has been following Elsa on her husband's orders, confronts Grisby. Broome has learned of Grisby's plan to actually murder Bannister, frame Michael, and escape by pretending to have also been murdered. Grisby shoots Broome and leaves him for dead. Unaware of what has happened, Michael proceeds with the night's arrangement and sees Grisby off on a motorboat before shooting a gun into the air to draw attention to himself. Meanwhile, Broome, injured but alive, asks Elsa for help. He warns her that Grisby intends to kill her husband.
Michael makes a phone call to Elsa, but finds Broome on the other end of the line. Broome warns Michael that Grisby was setting him up. Michael rushes to Bannister's office in time to see Bannister is alive, but that the police are removing Grisby's body from the premises. The police find evidence implicating Michael, including his confession, and take him away.
At trial, Bannister acts as Michael's attorney. He feels he can win the case if Michael pleads justifiable homicide. During the trial, Bannister learns of his wife's relationship with Michael. He ultimately takes pleasure in his suspicion that they will lose the case. Bannister also indicates that he knows the real killer's identity. Before the verdict, Michael escapes by feigning a suicide attempt. Elsa follows. Michael and she hide in a Chinatown theater. Elsa calls some Chinese friends to meet her. As Michael and Elsa wait and pretend to watch the show, Michael realizes that she killed Grisby. Elsa's Chinese friends arrive and take Michael, unconscious, to an abandoned Fun House. When he wakes, he realizes that Grisby and Elsa had been planning to murder Bannister and frame him for the crime, but that Broome's involvement ruined the scheme and that Elsa had to kill Grisby for her own protection.

The film features a unique climactic shootout in a hall of mirrors involving a multitude of false and real mirrored images in the Magic Mirror Maze, in which Elsa is mortally wounded and Bannister is killed. Heartbroken, Michael leaves presuming that events which have unfolded since the trial will clear him of any crimes.

I’m losing my mind a little because I’ve realized I can ask my (polite and straightforward) questions about Garridebs to Moffat and Gatiss during the drinks receptions that Paige @the-7-percent-solution and I are going to tonight. It’s informal conversation and some friends that had their receptions last night said they asked questions about the series and they were answered. OMFG. This is a way around them filtering the talks questions! And the best part is that we are attending both receptions, and Moffat and Gatiss are in different ones… so let’s see if there are different answers!

Sherlock. Eurus. I Am One.
More thoughts on names. In HLV Sherlock tells John: “Sherlock is actually a girls’ name.” This has been discussed extensively so for now just keep in mind that in this not so funny joke he is proposing to use a male name for a female.
We had this even at the beginning of the show, in ASiP, when he mistakes John’s sister to be a brother because she is called Harry. Sherlock has learned from this. By now he knows that a woman can have a man’s name.
Then there is Eurus who is presented as a woman and played by a woman. But the Greek god of the East Wind is invariably depicted as male. The Greeks had gods and goddesses, so the Holmes parents could have chosen the name of a goddess which they did not.
So we have Sherlock who bears a male name telling John that it can be used as a female name. And we have Eurus who bears a male name but is presented as a woman. There is a definite parallel.
And now for an interesting bit of speculation. In the PBS/Masterpiece credits of TFP certain letters were highlighted in red. (The red letters were not included in the BBC broadcast so it must have been the choice of PBS. The others were “the six napoleons” resp. “once more unto the breach”, both direct allusions to ACD/Shakespeare referred to in the episodes) Anyway, as some people posted here before, the TFP letters spell the word ANEMOI which is Greek and sums up the four main winds: Zephyrus, Boreas, Notus, and - Eurus.
A family of winds - and there are four of them. But the Holmes family consists of five persons. Unless two of them are one. Or, if we read ANEMOI as an anagram: I AM ONE.
I’ll leave you to your deductions.
