Story used is the overused ‘my cat has a rash and I will pay you back’ copy/paste that’s been seen at least a dozen times now yet is still tricking people. Username may change so please keep an eye out.

Please don’t give them your money.

I'm gonna be straight-up with you - and I'm sorry if this comes off harsh - but I don't believe you and I think you're a bot.

On the off chance you're not, here's a good faith insight into my thoughts: you're sending this from a 2-day-old blog that is nothing but three pages of reblogs from trending topics and not even a tag blurb of individuality. You either have a main blog and refuse to use it - denying your plight credibility for what is a universally palatable call for help - or you have no blog and are branching to tumblr for added reach, a perfectly okay route that, again, loses all credence in light of the fallacious theatrics mentioned above. None of this tracks.

I am actually caring for a terminally ill cat right this moment and it is burning holes in our savings, so I know exactly the type of pain you're (theoretically) experiencing and how going about it this way makes no god damn sense whatsoever. You managed to find the one scam type that would send me into a flying fit of rage during this period and sent it my way, warts and all.

So I'm sorry if this comes off harsh, but reach out from an actually human place about shit like this or get lost

This is a scam, apparently. Someone reached out to me after I reblogged the post (I have since deleted the post.)

The person who originally posted for help has reached their goal and is making people aware that the following users are trying to scam others using their original post:

Their username may change, but the above ask is a copy-pasted ask they send to a lot of people.

As always, be careful when donating to someone and always be aware that they may be lying. (I'm one of those people who understands this risk, but if someone is asking for money online, I feel there's a reason. So even if I get tricked, I don't feel too bad.)

And never give so much you put yourself in a financial bind or danger!

That cat donation post you reblogged on sunflower-dori is a scam, i suggest deleting your reblog! The ops account has only existed 24h and theyre messaging random tumblr users to try and get support and as many rbs as possible to cheat as many people out of their money as possible. Dude this has literally happened so many times at this point. I just wanna help people out by boosting, at this point i'm gonna stop reblogging any donation posts. I already made that rule on this blog but from now it'll also be on my main.

Let me be clear with everyone: you deserve help. You deserve every boost from a kind stranger. But at this point so many people have taken advantage of tumblr users and i don't want to have to vet every blog to figure out if they're being legit. I will no longer be responding to any requests for donation post reblogs. I don't care if that makes me come across as heartless or selfish.

thelightlightning is a scam account: Day old blog, cat has no visible rash, blog original url was thenightlightning, pictures are confirmed to be stolen off a private Facebook group, and the cats real name is Marley.

do you have any link/confirmation about the stolen cat picks / cat real name. I want to believe but it also feels mean to delete a post asking for aid if this ain't legit lmao.

The blog only having posts from one day ago is very suspicious tho. Is there a way to see how old blogs actually are apart from just looking at reblogs?

thelightlightning is a scammer. Do you see a rash in this photograph where I circled? The story (which is copy/pasted and edited every time it’s given) says there’s an ugly rash on the mouth.

Yet so far every time they use this story there is NEVER any sign of a supposed rash in the images. Also the cat isn’t Tabby their name is Marley. The scammer just tried using a new photo of the same exact cat. Source below.
