Welcome

The Killers have massively impacted my whole life since I was a little girl. They have been my favourite band since I was six years old and got to experience the release of their debut, Hot Fuss. I knew from the first time hearing this that The Killers would be a big part of who I am for a long time. My Dad continued to play the albums as they were released over the years on car journeys, and when I was older and had to catch a thirty minute bus to school, I listened to the Sams Town album pretty much every day for seven years on my IPod, to and from school. It was my favourite album for basically all of my teenage years.

My life changed in November 28th 2017 when I had the privilege of attending The Killers in Concert in the London 02 Arena. I struggle to even describe how phenomenal it was to see my favourite men, doing what they do so amazingly, LIVE in concert. Hearing all the songs sang by these beautiful musicians in the same room, full of people with the same passion as I, enjoying it as much as I, was quite frankly breath taking. This night was without a doubt the best experience of my life so far. The Concert not only massively fuelled my love for The Killers (I didn’t think I could love them more than I already did), but it fuelled my passion for music too. Since this night, my love for music has just kept on exceeding. I have started to learn bass guitar, been inspired to play keyboard again which I hadn’t done in years, been listening to lots more music and specifically a lot more New Wave and Synth Pop.

I made this tumblr blog because I have so much passion for The Killers that half the time I don’t know what to do with, so I decided to make a blog and be able to share these thoughts with people who share the same enthusiasm.

Thank you for reading. I’m sure we will get on fantastically.

The Killers 10 years later...

I still remember the first time I listened to a song of The Killers, I was at a bar with some friends, a local dj was playing and suddenly I was paying attention to some uncommon lyrics: “somebody told me you had a boyfriend, who looked like a girlfriend…” and you know the rest. At that exact moment my love for The Killers’ songs and melodies was born. That was more than 10 years ago, an indie rock band from Las Vegas, making their way to the mainstream. Now, in the 10th anniversary of Sam’s Town, they are a successful band known in, I would say, every country in the planet. Their sound has evolved a lot from Hot Fuss till Battle Born, but they have kept that essence and unique sound coming right from the desert. 

They celebrated the 10th birthday of Sam’s Town by reissuing it in vinyl and hosting 2 concerts in no better place than the Sam’s Town Hotel and Gambling Hall in their hometown. I went to the 2nd night presentation and I was able to witness them play the entire album, plus all their other hits, including that cover of Joy Division’s Shadow Play. I also had a chance to listen a couple songs in semi-unplugged mode in their VIP pre-show. Here are some photos and short video of that and the main show.
