My relationship with the “abusive wife”

Maaaaan this is gonna be a loong explanation, but with the recent shit that has been going down between her and her current husband, I feel like I have to speak up, just to give further context that this woman IS indeed very manipulative, if not straight up abusive… I can personally attest to it.

Now, I don’t wanna breach her privacy too much, because I feel like all people deserve at least some privacy, and i’m not sure if she’s ever said her real name on here, so I’m gonna refer to her as Mel for the remainder of this post.

I had been friends with Mel for over 3 years before we started dating. I met her when she was 14, and I was 16… for those 3 years we never really did much other than talk to each other and draw each other art, but we were still very close, and I never felt as if she was an abusive person whatsoever because she never really exhibited that type of behavior… all I knew is that she was VERY childish, but again, that didn’t really bother me.

March of 2017, I ask her to be my girlfriend… It didn’t happen right away because her mother wasn’t to sure of me, considering the fact that we were merely online friends (and she was also 17 at the time, only a month away from being 18) But eventually, we ended up as a couple on Saint Patricks Day.

A couple months pass, we’re staying up really late talking to each other pretty much every night, sending each other things in the mail, just doing regular shit that couples would do in long distance relationships.

In May 2017, her mother buys me a plane ticket to Ohio so that I could visit her for 2 weeks for her high school graduation, it was pretty much her “graduation present.” I ended up flying from California to Ohio all by myself to meet this girl who I thought I was in love with, but this is where things start to go downhill….

Mel was a very, and I mean VEEEERY clingy person. She barely ever left my side, barely ever let go of me in general, constantly wanted to kiss me, said “I love you” every 15 minutes… In the beginning this didn’t really bother me, but after 2 straight weeks of this constant behavior it became VERY exhausting.

Along with the clinginess, came her childishness. She was VEEEERY childish, despite the fact that she was 18 at this point, not 14. She had a stuffed dog named Andrew that she legitimately pretended was one of her best friends and constantly carried around as some sort of comfort, which kinda weirded me out because I would think that an 18 year old DOESN’T need to carry around a stuffed animal with them at all times. There was also the time when me and her went to Build a Bear workshop together and I made her a Rocket Raccoon plush, which I jokingly started calling “our son” because we made him together. Well, she got REEEALLY into that and pretty much turned it into a serious thing… that was when I started to feel legitimately uncomfortable.

I remember, for like the entire last week of our visit together, every single night in our hotel room i’d have to just lay in bed and comfort her because she would constantly cry about the fact that I was going home in “Just 1 week” or “Just 4 days” and so on. She had a hard time living in the moment and focusing on the fact that I was still there in that moment, and instead focused on the fact that I was leaving soon. Even though I loved her at that point, and wanted to comfort her, I couldn’t help but feel slightly annoyed at the fact that this was a CONSTANT THING for an entire week… Just laying in bed, listening to her cry, clinging to me and not letting go for hours… it was just an uncomfortable experience.

About 2 nights before I had to leave, I had a panic attack in our room due to some personal issues, and i’m prone to anxiety so those tend to happen. Melissa wanted to hold me and constantly say things to me, but when i’m anxious those types of things do not help me AT ALL. I had to tell her multiple times in a shaky voice “Mel, when i’m feeling this way, the best thing to do is leave me alone and let me get through it”. Well… Mel didn’t like that very much. She began to breathe heavily, seemingly out of nowhere, and she said “I’m sorry Jack, I don’t know if this is gonna work out… I don’t think this can work” Then suddenly curled up into a ball and started profusely hyperventilating… I don’t like to sit here and claim this because i’m still not sure, but I feel like she was faking a panic attack to manipulate me… the whole thing seemed very forced. It was as if she had a fake panic attack just to turn everything around and make me comfort her… I kinda just had to force myself out of my panic attack (which didn’t entirely happen, I was still panicking) and tell her to breathe deeply, which somehow got her panic attack to end almost immediately… it was very fishy.

The day finally comes where I have to leave, of course she cried her eyes out in the airport, I get on the plane, make it back to california, yada yada.

But then… once I get home, she decides to send me this VERY long paragraph about how mad she was at me because she pretty much thought I was talking shit about her behind her back because I wouldn’t let her look at my phone. The reason I wouldn’t let her look is because, instead of asking, she would randomly try to peek at what I was doing and I would turn my phone away from her because I wanted her to respect my privacy. I ALWAYS respected hers. This caused me to stop talking to her altogether for a while.

When I got back to california, I was dealing with alot of life problems. I was constantly looking for a job to pay rent, and I ended up being very depressed for almost a month after the trip ended because I felt like life was going downhill… and I also found myself kind of ignoring melissa because she wasn’t making me happy at that point, and because of the whole privacy thing. I was only able to associate her with clinginess and annoyance because of what I had experienced in her presence. So, with that, on July 9, 2017, I broke up with Mel. but I had to send her voice messages to do it because I KNEW that if I did it over a call, she would freak out, hurl insults at me, and use her signature line “You knew what this was going to do to me, and you did it anyways!” basically manipulating me into feeling like the bad guy because I was having life problems and couldn’t even take care of myself enough to constantly babysit her anymore.

2 months pass, I end up missing her alot, and I message her again. I pretty much give in and act like the bad guy in the situation to get her to forgive me.. I literally cried my eyes out to her over the phone she was eating that shit up, hurling more insults at me as I cried to her over the phone how sorry I was. She told me that, after we broke up, I caused her to do the following things: -Use my Old Spice shampoo that I left in Ohio because it reminded her of me, but it ended up destroying her hair

-Burnt popcorn in the microwave and ended up calling the fire department because she was scared

-Acted like a zombie and started incorporating traits of my personality into her own, pretty much turning into a “Mini Jack” because she missed me

Just… so much bullshit. She’s the worst at coping with things and actively does things to make the coping process worse for herself, yet she’ll just blame it on the other person.

Eventually, things settle down, we become friends again, but… Dillon is back in her life, and she was thinking about dating him again. Yes, Dillon is her current husband which went missing recently.

Throughout the next month, she went back and forth between dating me and Dillon because she was indecisive… and eventually, I grew so tired of it that I decided to just break everything off entirely and tell her that i’m done dating her for good. That apparently sent her into multiple panic attacks and caused her to go to the hospital (or so she told me… most likely a manipulation tactic) and again just resulted to hurling insults as me… and so, that ended my association with Mel. I broke everything off with her entirely, didn’t even wanna be friends with her anymore. I was done.

Literally only a month after I stopped talking to her, she got engaged to Dillon. I had no idea that they had even gotten married yet, and I had no idea that their marriage was even going this bad… last time I heard, they were doing just fine together… Dillon was apparently the love of her life, and even Dillon was happy with everything.

Now, Dillon was never personally nice to me, so I was never that fond of him, but now realizing that Melissa has been possibly even WORSE to him than she was to me, causing him to want to run away without saying a word…. I feel his pain. Honestly I hope he’s able to escape the marriage somehow unscathed, because knowing Mel… she’ll probably do everything in her power to fuck up his life. She’s very petty in that sense.

Anyways, long story short, Mel is not a good person to be in any type of serious relationship with. I hope I was able to convey everything properly, and there are some things I left out of this because I don’t wanna completely destroy Mel’s reputation, despite her being an abusive person, and for the privacy of others as well. There is really so much I could say about her to completely destroy her. But just be aware, she’s not a good person. She has major problems… Actually, major is an understatement.

Worm Liveblog #101

UPDATE 101: Heroes Strike Back

Last time it was revealed Armsmaster – Defiant, from now on – was going to pursue the Slaughterhouse Nine, and many of the heroes in the Wards and Protectorate were starting to consider doing a preempting strike on the Undersiders. Now it’s time for a new arc! What shall it bring? Let’s find out!

This arc is the sixteenth arc, named ‘Monarch’. Curious name, that one. I know there’s a species of butterfly with that name, so I suppose that’s where the name came from, but I wonder what kind of circumstances caused this to be the title. Guess I better start reading to find out.

The arc starts with Skitter cooking for the people in her territory. Although in any other situation this would be kind of risky because of the possibility people will make a ruckus and try to take food from others, they all know Skitter won’t tolerate any of that, so they will all behave. She’s trying to make herself be a reasonable ruler, but it’s undeniable her power and the way she uses it are pretty damn effective ways to intimidate everyone. It’s good they all are aware she’s someone they shouldn’t make angry, anyway. Less trouble that way.

This, right here, was the one thing that I could feel good about. My people, my territory, doing something to rebuild. Maybe I could have cracked the whip, but I’d rather they were happy. It would do more in the long run, even if it meant less work got done. They’d be dicking around waiting for the food to finish, and wouldn’t get anything done tonight, after I gave them less restricted access to the beer and wine I’d had Cranston deliver. Probably less in the morning, too, now that I thought about it.

No big deal. There’s no hurry to get the place fixed, is there? The end of the renovations being delayed a day won’t kill anyone. After all, there’s no big attack in the future, as far as I know. The Slaughterhouse Nine and the Endbringers are nowhere close to Brockton Bay, so unless Coil suddenly makes half of the city explode or Cauldron causes chaos everywhere it should all go okay.

Oh, nevermind, apparently there’s a deadline! This deadline was imposed by Coil and it’s three days to crush any foes and expand their territory. Well they sure did some crushing, so that should be enough to appease Coil even if they don’t expand the territory much, yeah? Also, Skitter was busy threatening the mayor and almost killing Triumph, so there’s that too. Multitasking has its limits!

Heralding the start of this arc’s events, here comes Grue, already wearing his new costume, and he’s ready to talk about last night’s events. I wonder how much he heard about it. He must know about Coil knowing something’s happening, at least.

Apparently making food for the people in her territory is a coping mechanism for Skitter. While she can’t really tell what’s going on, I can kind of see how this works? If she keeps herself busy with her territory and its perennial problems, she won’t have much time to think about the other stuff that’s filling her life. Devil and idle hands and all that, you know.

Should I take the same approach Parian did, identify my territory somehow? The residents of Spiderville? The Bugwalk? The Hive?

Please call it Spiderville, Taylor, I beg of you, call this area of the town Spiderville. I’ll love you forever.

A casual ‘this is the only thing I’ve got going on that I can really feel good about right now’ makes her feel like she’s dissing her relationship with Grue. It just started, Taylor, there’s plenty of time to feel good about it. She’s trying her best, though, hoping to fit some lovey-dovey time between her work with Spiderville and sabotaging Coil. Easier said than done, I wouldn’t be surprised if they never get enough time to just hang out with each other.

Well, they do get the time to flirt. That’s good.

Grue can’t stay because he has to return to his territory, where Imp is currently at, dealing with the few enemies who still are there. He had been about to leave when Skitter feels something. Trouble in Spiderville once again! Update the counter, it’s now 0 days since the last incident!

My bugs could scent exhaust. The acrid taste of ozone, for the lack of a better explanation. I honed in on it, and realized that one of the buildings near the edge of my range had a new addition on the roof. It was big, like two eighteen wheelers parked side-by-side, with two more stacked on top, but all one piece.

So it’s a vehicle. My first thought was a helicopter, but then the description of that thing’s size dashed that particular theory. It also must be light enough to not collapse the building despite that thing’s size. I can’t think what it could be, and Skitter apparently can, because she tells everyone to run to safety.

“Who?” Grue asked.

“Pretty sure it’s Dragon.”

Dragon? Really? Well, golly! Sudden hero presence! And not only that, it’s a rather large suit, so I suppose that means Dragon means business and is ready to attack. Either that or she wanted to intimidate Skitter so she’d talk without any objections. Either way, Skitter can’t back down or else it’ll be a defeat in the face of everyone in her territory.

Heck, in what I’m sure was unplanned but is darkly funny in some manner, she’s near the building where Skitter started her adventures. You totally did that on purpose, Mr. Wildbow. Why else would you call attention to that?

The reason why Dragon is here likely is because this is retaliation for the attack to the mayor and Triumph’s brush with death, Skitter thinks. I suppose this is a detour from hunting for the Slaughterhouse Nine – what I’m not sure is if she’s here for retaliation or if they need Skitter for their hunt somehow. Oh well. Better contact the rest of the team, anyway.

The advice Tattletale gives is to not fight – that, and some bad news. Veeeery bad news.

“Dragon’s here-” she started. There was a flare of static, not unlike the noise from an out-of-tune radio station, “-don’t fight.”

“Why?” I asked, but the static flared up again as I spoke, and I couldn’t be sure Tattletale heard me. “She’s here. How is she there?”

“Hitting multiple territories at once-” Whatever she said next was obscured. It was getting worse, fast. “-fight and heroes come to back her up. Run, hide. Meet-”

This definitely is retaliation for last night’s events. I guess saying she’s sorry won’t be enough! And also that the rest had nothing to do with this attack won’t change their minds, I bet. They want the Undersiders as a whole suppressed so they won’t cause more trouble. Way to go, team, you’re now a major threat. Cheers! But yeah, I suppose the heroes that wanted to make a preemptive attack got what they wanted.

It took Skitter fifteen arcs to start hating tinkers. Hah! Maybe that’s why there are no tinkers in the team, because they all hate them. Tinkers are only great when they’re on your side. Right now Dragon is using drones to exterminate bugs, decimating Skitter’s bug army. Given her aim is to capture Skitter, I wonder what can be done here. Facing Dragon directly is not an option.

But damn, seriously, the characters can never get a break. Not that I blame them in this instance, though. I mean, what Skitter did was pretty damn bad. Obviously there’d be retaliation as soon as possible. It just makes sense.

The drones that fly around don’t seem to be directly controlled by Dragon, because one of them approach Skitter and talks to her like Skitter is just a harmless civilian, and orders her to drop to the ground and place her hands on her head. I suppose if Skitter had complied the drone would have stayed there to protect her, just in case, so I can’t really blame Skitter for deciding to break the drone, even though that likely would have alerted Dragon something was wrong in this area. Or at least it was a good try, because it failed. She missed and got shocked pretty badly as a result.

“Failure to comply.”

I felt the hairs all over my body stand to attention a second before it hit us. It felt more like getting a truck dropped on me than I would have expected an electrical charge to feel like, but I could feel the not-unfamiliar sensation of snakes writhing across my body.

Well that sure is a way to force civilians to comply. Dragon doesn’t mess around! And not only that, afterwards the drone crashes on top of Skitter, holding her down to the ground. It really is a good thing spider webs resist electricity somewhat, so she’s not unconscious. Still, there are drones around here, so...yeah, she’s in a tough spot.

Or not! Grue’s darkness cuts whatever signal Dragon is using, so that disables the drones. And also I bet it makes Dragon know something’s going on, but that’s a problem for later! They want to attack the main body, anyway. As expected, Dragon isn’t going to just stand around and let it happen, when they approach somewhat, Dragon attacks. It’s some sort of wind blast, designed to take down any bugs Skitter may be using, and it dispels Grue’s darkness. Looks like a purely defensive move to me, instead of something made to attack and subdue. Maybe Dragon is planning something.

The blast of hot wind ripped past us. The building obstructed the worst of it, but it was less focused than the former. Again, it stripped away much of Grue’s darkness. He covered them in a fresh layer and we continued running.

Dragon didn’t give chase.

Definitely has a plan.

Whatever plan it is doesn’t involve catching Skitter right now, she has the time to run to Coil’s base. Oh boy, wouldn’t it be a riot if Dragon kept track of where Skitter was running around. It’d be hard to explain to Coil why Dragon was knocked to the door of his hideout. Anyway, Skitter isn’t the first one to arrive. Regent is here, Imp is here as well...and judging by Regent’s expression, something bad happened. Tattletale and Heckpuppy aren’t here so far? Did they get captured, perhaps? I’d be surprised if Tattletale was caught!

Apparently Ballistic, Genesis and Heckpuppy are the ones that aren’t here, Tattletale is over there. Genesis and Ballistic are pretty meh, but Heckpuppy? Captured? That’s plenty bad. She’s the muscle of the group. She’s also pretty easy to deal with, just keep her away from dogs and there’s nothing she can do. What’s the term? Glass cannon? For when something hits very hard but isn’t very resistant? Whatever.

We waited while Coil and the Travelers traveled across the walkway and Tattletale crossed the bottom floor to the staircase.

“This is not ideal,” Coil spoke.

Oh hey, Coil. Fancy seeing you here, things are falling apart in the territories. Is that going to be a problem for your plans? I wonder if he will blame Skitter, given how her actions likely is what brought this hell upon everyone.

The attacks all seem to be Dragon taking matters in her own hands, without any of the other heroes having a part in it. Not even Defiant seems to be around, or if he is, then he’s staying hidden and just giving Dragon ideas. Everything is so well coordinated – things are easy to coordinate when you’re an AI and also the only one doing stuff, you know – Coil almost thinks there’s a traitor, and I really doubt that because really, who would it be? Someone in the Travelers, who depend on Coil to do whatever needs to be done with Noelle? Or one of the Undersiders, who are already plotting to overthrow him?

Heck, I’m inclined to think this is a jab at Skitter, like ‘I know what you’re planning’.

So, Tattletale thinks that attacking Dragon will make her call the rest of the heroes for backup, and although I agree, I also think Dragon won’t wait for that long before calling them. I wouldn’t be surprised if the heroes make their grand entrance before the chapter ends. If they do...I will think the matter with Coil and betraying him will be left for another chapter in the future. Golly, for something that’s has like a ten days deadline at most it sure is taking a while, haha. Then again, most times only a day or two passes between arcs.

Borrowing Dragon’s power is not possible because Grue doesn’t get anything from tinkers – funny, I’d have thought Dragon being an AI would be a bigger problem – so he can’t do anything, and Dragon planned to avoid him, anyway. She has that wind turbine, so it’s to be expected she also has many moves that can counter everyone else in Coil’s payroll. Maybe even if they all attack at once. Who knows. Nothing that can be done without some really extensive planning, dang.

“You’ll have access to all of my resources,” Coil responded. “But the previous orders about clearing out and establishing your territories by noon tomorrow stand.”

That’s a...surprisingly inflexible order. Coil so far had shown a rather reasonable demeanor except when it was going against his plans in a way he couldn’t tolerate, so does that mean if they don’t get their territories straightened out by noon tomorrow then Coil will suffer some rather inconvenient setbacks? I’m not sure what they would be, though. Maybe Dinah said he had to have those territories under control on that timeframe or else his plans would go bad.

Not that the heroes staying in the territories for long is good. They could loosen the control the Travelers and Undersiders have over their territories.

Imp is not eager to make Dragon go mad, and I suspect it’s partly because Dragon can see her, so she’s at severe disadvantage. All of the Travelers will agree because they can’t afford not to – once another sign they won’t betray Coil – and the Undersiders, well...Skitter sure isn’t jumping to the call of duty, at least not without compensation. Guess what the compensation she wants is.

“Ah. What do you want, Skitter?”

“You know that already.”

“I’ve already told you I’ll consider your request.”

“I want a promise.”

Not happening.

Oh, nevermind, it happened. Coil made the promise. But you know what? I’m not convinced. Even if Skitter manages to do this, would Coil really let Dinah go? His goal of taking over the city isn’t done yet. Maybe his promise is to let Dinah go after he has taken over the city, in which case...eh...well I sure am not really convinced yet. There’s still plenty of time to get rid of Skitter, and I doubt he’s honorable enough to fulfill his end of the deal even if Skitter is dead. Oh well. She got the promise she was looking for.

Everyone else in the Undersiders don’t want much because they’re siding with Skitter, although Imp wants a territory of her own – huh, didn’t expect her to want such a thing – and Regent, who wants a nice cash reward. Naturally! And since they have access to any resources and money,

Tattletale requests to take a look at the data they had stolen from the PRT like a million years ago. I had completely forgotten they had such a thing! Hopefully she’ll be able to find out something useful against Dragon in that, but I’m not going to really hold high hopes about that. Any competent person would patch any weaknesses related to information in that data. I don’t think there’ll be anything game-breaking in there.

Too easy, I thought. He made that promise too easily.

Knowing him, that’s a bad sign. I don’t trust Coil as far as I could throw him. Skitter really should watch her back.

So that’s the start of this arc. Things are already looking hectic! So, how shall they fight Dragon and reclaim their territories? Will Dragon call heroes as backup? I think I’ll read one chapter more.

Grue’s the one who takes the leadership for everyone, but Skitter isn’t convinced because she thinks Grue’s traumatic experiences may make him freeze at the worst time, and his sister and Skitter being involved in any plan may make him overthink or take wrong decisions. Oh boy, I hope nobody thinks she’s trying to undermine a leader’s authority, even though Grue claimed that role like one minute ago.

Somehow Imp is the cornerstone of Skitter’s ideas, much to Imp’s satisfaction. Trickster over there, who I should add hasn’t shown to be amazing when it’s about attacks and team coordination, says Imp is useless, much to Imp’s dissatisfaction. I admit I’m curious what Skitter has in mind, though. Imp doesn’t really have any advantages against Dragon.

“Let’s hear the plan,” Grue said. I was relieved that there was no anger or irritation in his voice, nothing to indicate he was upset over my co-opting the leadership role.

By now he must be used to it. Either that or he’s relieved he doesn’t have to take charge.

What Skitter wants to do is go make sure the teammates that got captures are okay, and that will involve invading the PRT headquarters. Hah! Okay, they’re going into the heroes’ stronghold once again if this is approved! Fun times. Dragon must know they’d try something like that, given the heroes are the vulnerable elements of their operation. You know, pretty sure if they attack the heroes, more and more of them will be on the side that wanted to do a preemptive attack.

Apparently they plan to make Imp be a saboteur, and before that they will have to break the cameras. There also may be a lot of technology made by tinkers, stuff that may catch Imp. Hmmmm...I wonder if the tinkers made sure everything will resist Shatterbird’s power. They know Regent has access to her, after all. Still, it’s a plan, so may as well pull it off!

Maybe I’m wrong, but filling an area with darkness is kind of...visible. I hope it’s nighttime or else this will stand out a lot.

The suit that’s near the PRT building is the same one that had attacked Trickster’s territory, so it has something that can counter a teleporter. Maybe it has to do with the electrical charges it has.

Thanks to the workers inside the PRT building being slobs, there are plenty of bugs to use. Everyone inside has a bug so they can be tracked, and there’s a lot of heroes inside. Worth noting Assault is one of them. The Undersiders better not get seen by him or else there will be hell to pay! Even though the Undersiders did nothing to Battery.

We had two big guns. If we were willing to be monsters, to go all out, it would be a fairly simple matter to hit them with Shatterbird to slow them down, use Sundancer’s sun at maximum power, tear the building apart and incinerate the residents before everyone could clear out. It wouldn’t even be hard.

I mean, I’m pretty sure a sun at maximum power would also kill everyone in the Undersiders and Travelers except maybe Sundancer, kill the three they’re trying to rescue if they’re in that building, and most likely obliterate a chunk of Brockton Bay. That doesn’t really fit ‘being monsters’, that’s being suicidal with complete disregard to everything else.

To get into the building, they hide in a place where only Trickster can see them, and get Sundancer to make a distraction with a sun. Okay, it definitely has to be nighttime, otherwise the heroes may not notice a sun sloooooowly getting closer and closer. It does well as a distraction, making the heroes get to the window and enabling Skitter to be teleported inside, where she does her good ol’ routine of cramming spicy bugs onto her enemies. After all this time the heroes must be so tired of having bugs everywhere on their faces, hah. Still, Weld is here, isn’t he? He’s the one person I figure won’t be affected by this.

It’s a good plan, being teleported around by Trickster by swapping her with heroes, making her be so agile it’s difficult to hit her and increasing the odds the heroes hit their own allies. With this and with the bugs attacking, it doesn’t take long for many of the heroes to be down and out of commission, among them Triumph, who really, really must hate insects by now after being attacked by them twice in like two or three days.

Grue was supposed to be brought inside, meaning another hero would be taken out, but the heroes caught up on that plan and are trying to block the window so Trickster can’t do anything else. Trickster was also supposed to take heroes out by replacing them with people who don’t have powers.

Right this moment, he should have eyes on the uniforms on the roof, could switch their locations with that of the heroes, but he wasn’t. Maybe he felt it was more dangerous for me to be up against a cop with a gun or a PRT uniform with containment foam than against heroes we’d already disabled.

Or maybe he was fucking me over on purpose. No, it didn’t make sense. He had his teammates to rescue. I was still suffering latent paranoia from Coil’s ‘test’.

Of course it’d be dangerous if a cop with a gun or a PRT officer was brought in, but I think Skitter’s bugs would be able to deal with them quickly, especially if it’s a random cop. I’d say it’s worth the risk, no?

She was an obese woman, two-hundred and fifty pounds at a minimum, with an unflattering, old-fashioned haircut that might have looked good on a model with the right clothes to go with it.

What’s unflattering here is that description, goodness! Still, did you give her that last name on purpose, Mr. Wildbow? Was it a set up for this?

Piggot informs two of Dragon’s suits are on the way due to this attack, and I believe it. I wonder how Piggot knew it’d be two. Maybe she has a communication line with Dragon. Skitter freaks out internally because who wouldn’t freak out when you hear two huge-ass suits are coming at full speed to capture you, and pretends to not be concerned at all.

You know what’s a great thing to do while you’re being tormented by insects? Try to get information about your enemies for future use. Director Piggot is quite the trooper! And so is Skitter, dodging the desks Assault sends her way. More of Dragon’s suits will arrive to Brockton Bay, which is a rather grim situation, honestly. Skitter is skillful but this worries me anyway.

If you’re lucky here, you might win. I’ll credit you that. But you won’t get two or three days of rest before you have to fight again.

Oh, damn, Director Piggot has read Worm and knows how it’s like.

How many times can you abandon your territory before your followers abandon you?

I mean, after everything Skitter has done, and how she risked life and limb like two times already? And how like twelve hours ago she was making food for people? I’d like to think it’ll take more than that for them to turn against Skitter, even if it’s out of fear or respect.

Skitter doesn’t like that at all, she counters with how the local authorities and the PRT have done a lousy job cleaning up everything. She’s not wrong, really. Piggot says they have done more than Skitter thinks, and I guess that’s possible? And we as readers don’t hear about it because Skitter sees nothing? Oh well. They can’t really continue arguing because everything goes dark and the lights crack. Aha, that could be Shatterbird! And it gives Skitter a chance to move, avoiding Assault’s attacks.

Somehow she’s still talking with the director even while all this is happening. To me it’s kind of funny there’s always time for a conversation even during times like these. Not much time for conversations when you’re being attacked, so Skitter tries to bail out by jumping out of a window. Trickster teleports her so she doesn’t get injured. Grue goes in, ready to use his darkness. Also, Clockblocker is here, frozen in time. Perfect! They have a few minutes or so before Clockblocker can move again.

Ah, a fight with Sundancer, Shatterbird and Grue attacking the suit! The one that seemed to have been specially made to stop Trickster’s...tricks...but I wonder if it will have something to use against those three, like the gusts of wind the one in Skitter’s territory had. This should be fun!

The attacks on that suit aren’t really doing much, and soon another suit arrives, one that had been used against Leviathan and Tattletale, ready to spray foam everywhere and catch everybody. Ah, I see the combination, I think. Capture them and use whatever the counter for the teleporter is to stop Trickster from doing anything. It’d be effective, I’d say.

Since things are looking pretty bad, Skitter thinks quickly and formulates a plan, giving Trickster a couple instructions. Once they’re face to face after following half of her instructions, he confirms she’s sure of what she’s doing. Must be a risky plan, then. You only ask such things when things are risky. He accepts, nonetheless, and swaps Skitter with Kid Win.

Trickster stepped out of the building, the tip of my knife pressed to the point where Kid Win’s chin joined his neck.

Oh, okay, they have a hostage now. You know, if I didn’t know better, I’d think the Undersiders were doing everything in their power to force the heroes to attack them preemptively, because seriously, everything they have done in this one chapter makes them be an even bigger threat than they already were, and it’s known they already were veeeeery big threats.

The suits stood down. I could see the wheel spin to a stop, the drones returning to dock.

Right. Dragon wouldn’t risk a human life. She’d discarded her suit rather than let an established criminal die. She wouldn’t let a young hero die for the sake of getting us into custody.

I mean, that’s a given. Leaving aside that causing someone’s death is pretty awful, heroes need good relationships with each other, and I doubt letting Kid Win die would make them like Dragon at all. Still, I’m pretty sure this will make her try to free Kid Win any way she can, as long as it doesn’t kill Trickster.

Or not. Suddenly, all of Dragon’s efforts stop, and Trickster is able to swap himself, Kid Win and Miss Militia around until he’s free. Also, thank goodness one can breathe through that foam – I assume – because Kid Win is lying facedown on it.

Skitter finds a piece of paper tied to her hair, and apparently she’s the one who wrote it, because it’s written in a strange code she invented back when she was going to be a hero. It’s a reminder of where she has to take the team to. Hmmm...given it’s a code she invented, the odds it’s a trap are kind of low. Tattletale is the only one I can kind of imagine being able to write such a note, using her power to deduce this from Skitter’s mind, but how would she tie it to Skitter without she noticing? Imp’s the only one who could, no? No way Imp would know about Skitter’s obscure codes, though. Oh well. They’ll have to retreat. There was no sign of Genesis, Ballistic or Heckpuppy in the building, I suppose...

Once the team is moved to where the note said they should go, the explanation to what’s going on with the note is here.

As confusing as the message was, everything made sense when Imp made her presence known, dropping the veil of her power’s effect.

Right. I’d had her tie the note into my hair so it wouldn’t confuse or distract me while I was in the field, something I’d only notice after the fact.

It must have been tied really well, if it didn’t fall down at all during the fights and the invasion. I can only imagine how awkward it’d be if it fell down somewhere and Skitter never remembered she was supposed to come here. Either way, all’s well that ends well. And apparently Imp managed to succeed, anyway. She has Director Piggot here.

“Well,” I said, “Could have gone better, but we got what we needed. You had her order them to shut down, right?”

“Yup.”

“Dragon must have given the Director the ability to command the suits. Wouldn’t have guessed,” Grue said.

Is that kosher? True, Piggot is the director and all, but I thought Dragon would have absolute control over the suits. This kind of leaves a weakness in them, as proven right now! I’m sure Piggot’s authority over the suits will be revoked soon. Oh well. They have Piggot, so now they have a bargaining chip, at least. I don’t think the heroes would accept an exchange of Piggot and the captured Undersiders, though.

Here’s where the chapter ends, with the Undersiders having captured Piggot. This all ended far quicker than I expected! I thought the attack on the PRT building would take the entire arc, yet here we are, it’s over. I’m actually surprised. Maybe the rest of the arc is the heroes’ effort to rescue Piggot while the Undersiders try to get what they want? It’d make sense, really.

But that will be for next time, whenever that is.

The silence from Lance's com link wasn't what bothered Keith.

The first time he went completely quiet, it'd freaked the entire team out. He was supposed to be the loud, obnoxious one. But in time, they grew to know that a silent Lance meant a focused one. It meant he was taking out sentries with his gun while he hid somewhere above them.

So the lack of noise was nothing new, at least not in their current setting.

What interrupted the quiet, however, was the source of everyone's panic.

“That’s… not exactly reassuring. I’d prefer not to be falling in the first place.”

Have you ever read the Hunger Games series? No I never got into both the book and film series. I wish I did read the books though...oh well, it’s never too late to start on them. When was the last time you ran into something? There’s so many things I could run into though haha. I guess the frog that I met while I was taking some trash out a couple of days ago? Do you enjoy dressing up? Sure. I love parties. Do you live in the city or a rural area? In the middle. I literally live right before the city and right before the more province-y part of town. Would you say you have a sense of style? Yeah, my friends have pointed it out occasionally. It’s never intentional and I never wanted to project a certain image, but whatever.

What's your biggest fear? These surveys have made me realize that aside from cockroaches, I am also very terrified of fire. :-( Have you ever been bitten by a wild animal? Not bitten, although I got pecked by this huge bird in a mini-safari because it caught me taking a picture of it when I was 12. Are you close to any of your cousins? I’m close with one. We’re quite older, and everyone else is much younger so I can’t really build the close and personal relationship that I would want to have with them. Have you ever been lost in the woods? Nope I wouldn’t want to do anything that will put me in that situation. Where did you last travel? I was in Vigan last September. Do you enjoy driving? I love the independence aspect of it–my mom can’t ever say no to my plans now because I’ll always have the capability to drive anyway. But that’s the only advantage, really. Driving is exciting for the first few months but then you realize Manila traffic takes out at least four hours of your day everyday just weaving in and out of traffic. It’s ultimately tiring. What song did you last listen to? Tell Me How by Paramore. If you have a job, how often do you work? No job. What time do you normally go to sleep at night? I can’t give you an exact time but it’s usually between 9 PM and 1 AM. Do you watch a lot of movies? I used to but I’ve temporarily lost my muse for it. Hopefully the upcoming awards season will rouse my interest again. Do you like Tom Petty? Never listened to his music. Would you rather have snow or rain? I mean just because I’ve never seen it, snow. Do you own a lot of sweaters? Nope. I only have one and it isn’t even mine, technically. It’s too hot to wear sweaters any time of the year, so why spend several hundred bucks on something I doubt I’ll be able to wear more than twice a year? Have you ever tried rock-climbing? I don’t have any other than I never agreed with anything that’s ever come out of Catholicism, and that’s coming from 17 years of experience. Are you a romantic person? I’m super sweet in private. Otherwise, in a public setting, I’m hesitant to be showy. Just because I know it would annoy me if I saw a couple who’s a little into their PDA. Would you consider yourself a flirt? This isn’t my doing and it’s not really a regret, but I’ve always wanted to see the person I would have turned out to be if I wasn’t raised in the detrimental environment I was raised in. Like, who would I be if my mom didn’t put me down mentally and emotionally every single day? What kind of outlook would I have if I had parents who had jobs that allowed them to be constantly at home and thus would be able to actually build a connection with us? I’m fiercely protective of and loyal to my loved ones. I’d put them first before me any day. Some have noticed that I kind of sacrifice too much in order to benefit the other, but I’ve never seen that as a bad thing. My specialty, really, has always been being there for people. Do you enjoy listening to others' problems? I don’t enjoy the fact that they have a problem. I do enjoy that they trust me enough to tell me all about what they are going through and went to me for either support or advice. Do you keep any plants in your house? Yup, we have several in the living room. What is your mother's occupation? I have no clue. Last time I bothered to ask, she was some kind of secretary in one of the departments of the hotel she works in. Do any of your friends like your musical style? I don’t have a distinct musical style, that belongs to my other friends who give more attention to the aesthetic they put out haha. But none of them enjoy my punk rock taste, definitely. What are you most looking forward to? Our field trip for our art studies class next Saturday. What was your favorite television show as a child? My first-ever favorite was The Wild Thornberries and Hi-5 with the original cast. Then I moved on to Spongebob, Fairly OddParents, Drake and Josh, and The Suite Life as I got older. When I was a kid, around 9, I used to tell my siblings all the time that I wish they were never born and that I were an only child instead, since I was always fighting with them for attention. I wasn’t raised a brat and I hate that I ever said that, and it’s really because of the environment I was raised in. I heard those words from my relatives and other people, and I just mimicked it because I thought it was an alright thing to say. Do you ever accidentally talk to inanimate objects? Yeah I say sorry ALL THE TIME to inanimate objects I bump into. What's your favorite flavor of ice cream? Cookies and cream and any flavor with an unusual concept. I tried spicy chocolate ice cream before, best thing ever. Have you ever kissed someone of the same gender? I would prefer to kiss somone of the same gender. Do you receive any hate mail? RELATIONSHIP STATUS: [verse dependent] He’s single in most verses, but there is a lovely, wonderful verse in which he and Adolin are a thing.

HOMETOWN / AREA: Raised in the town of Hearthstone, within Sadeas’ Princedom in Alethkar.

CURRENT HOME: Verse dependant, but mostly, The Shattered Plains, in Dalinar Kholin’s warcamp after being made captain.

PROFESSION: A soldier, a captain, a radiant, a bridgeman, a surgeon, it really depends on who you ask, but if you ask him, he’ll maintain that he is all of these things and he always will be. Those pieces make up who he has become. He’s never just one of them without the others.

PHYSICAL.

HAIR: long, thick curls of deep Alethi black. Soft to the touch but easily tangled or otherwise disheviled. usually pulled back into a tail and tied in place with a black chord. His bangs are long enough to almost completely cover the slave brands on his forehead. Looks lovely when washed and brushed properly. (would also look very nice with sapphires in it. *Side-eyes Jay*)

EYES: Originally a dark, warm brown with flecks of hazel throughout the iris. Unnoticable from a distance but clear to see up close. When accessing his Radiant abilities, his eyes blaze a bright, piercing azure and remain that color until some time after his stormlight has been exhausted. They then begin to fade back to their natural color unless fed more stormlight. Almond-shaped eyes with an epicanthic fold, thick dark eyelashes, and lines from years of exhaustion and grief that tend to offset how young he really is. His eyes are often lined in kohl, like many Alethi soldiers stationed on the Plains.

NOSE: A rather straight nose with a pointed tip. The bridge is more of a slope than a bump and most of his facial freckles are concentrated across it, spreading from cheek to cheek in a dense constellation of dark flecks on his skin.

FACE: An angular, square face-shape with a strong chin and jaw. has been referred to as a ‘leader’s face’. Absolutely covered in freckles, as is the rest of his body. Usually all hard lines and sharp angles but can sometimes soften when looking upon someone he cares about. His eyes are his most expressive feature.

LIPS: Full, somewhere between rough and soft, warm to the touch, and coated with a light sprinkling of his freckles. They aren’t as dark on the thinner skin, but they are still there.

COMPLEXION: A dark brown Alethi tan. Darker than most Alethi, due to all his time spent in the sun. Freckles everywhere. Everywhere.

BLEMISHES: Many scars, most notably some very large ones on his chest and shoulders from his time running bridges. Also, plenty on his back from his time as a slave. Then, of course, there are the brands on his forehead.

TATTOOS: None

HEIGHT: 6’9″

WEIGHT: I’m so terrible at these??? How much does a muscular yet kinda beanpolish 6′9″ man weight???

BUILD: Veeeery tall. Long powerful legs leading up to pronounced hipbones. Solid abdominal muscles set into a flat stomach. A strong chest attatched to broad shoulders. All in all, he’s lean muscle and hard lines, like he’s been carved from the stone itself.

ALLERGIES: Nothing native to Roshar, but most likely MANY things from other worlds. Since they don’t exist on Roshar, his body hasn’t been designed to handle them.

USUAL HAIRSTYLE: As Guard Captain, he keeps his long hair tied into a high ponytail and keeps his face clean-shaven. As a bridgman, he kept it in a low ponytail and eventually shaved the beard he’d grown as a slave.

USUAL EXPRESSION: Usually stern and serious. Often with a mouth set into a grim frown or a hard-edged look of determination in his eyes. Regardless, he usually sports a stoic expression or one of gloom. Occassionally, on a magically slim chance, he’ll smile and it is truly radiant.

What are some other AUs you've done?

Keep in mind from the get-go that this list is probably going to be incomplete, because after this long I'm sure my partner and I have done some teeny side-stories that we've forgotten about (which is kind of sad, really). We did have a few major ones that we still enjoy, though!

They are, in no specific order:

Royal Family AU - This was a story where Fini had somehow ended up in some other zone where Knuckles' family was a monarchy, whom Fini ended up working for. The family had a lot of unhealed wounds and dysfunction that Fini ended up caught in the middle of -- meanwhile, neighboring nations presented external problems of their own. And all the while Fini is struggling to help however he can, he's also trying to find a way home! This one's actually one of my favorites we've ever done, because it has a lot of hat tips to canon but it still branches way out on its own so much that I've seriously considered trying to turn it into an original story. Hopefully mine would turn out better than 50 Shades.

Vampires AU - In this continuity, Knuckles belongs to a family of paranormal detectives that specialize in hunting down otherworldly creatures that present a threat. Knuckles, freshly emancipated and sent into the world to work on his own, is investigating a vampire attack in a small village... which leads him to the mysterious scientist Dr. Finitevus, who lives alone in a manor just outside of town. This story went so well that we actually revisited it in a second part.

--Alternate Timeline AU - This one probably relies the most heavily on the notion that Fini is the same incarnation that my partner plays in our main RP, as his relationship with Knuckles is a critical motivation for his actions. Anyway, in this story, Fini awakens one day to find himself in the middle of the woods for some reason -- and there's a distant noise of someone crying. When he investigates, he finds a small puggle, frightened and very hungry. Upon asking the child's name, he's shocked to hear that the boy's name is... Knuckles! In this AU, Fini repeatedly finds himself sent back in time to key points in Knuckles' life, whereupon he discovers he can stop or change events that he knows are coming. This AU is moreso a series of smaller one-shot games where Fini does his best to steer Knuckles' life in a direction that allows him to have the things he'd been deprived of in his own timeline. However, in doing so, the alternate history ends up creating some new troubles of its own.

Chaotix AU - Sadly, this one never had a real conclusion, as we just sort of trickled off from it. The premise here is a divergence from the direction our main RP took when Knuckles decided to go back to Fini and stay with him. Instead, we decided to see what would happen if it was the other way around, and Fini decided to stay with Knuckles -- and, subsequently, the rest of the Chaotix.

Sirens AU - Also one of my absolute favorite stories, also one that went so well we did a second story, and also one that's so damn good I'm giving real, serious consideration to translating it to another media. In this story, Fini is a marine biologist that's just starting a new teaching job in an island community, and he's surprised to find that the locals all have some very serious fears of so-called "sirens," which he quickly dismisses as superstition. This all changes one night when he discovers what appears to be a young man in the water just outside of his estate...

"Gulliver" AU - The original premise of this one was to have Fini repeatedly hopping from zone to zone trying to get back to his own (kinda like the show Sliders), but I got carried away with the world building in the very first zone (which I loosely based on Gulliver's Travels) and we've just sorta stuck with it because it's working. In any case, Fini is in the wrong zone, but in this AU he's not in a terribly huge rush to get back just yet because his curiosity's running wild. It's got a lot of traditional fantasy story basics (different fantasy races, types of magic, etc) interlaced with a few Gulliver elements, in addition to me just plain making shit up.

Pets AU - At last, a story where both Fini AND Knuckles are displaced from their zone! This story relies on Knux and Fini being the same characters from our main RP, and it follows the usual wrong-zone pattern: They awaken one day in an unfamiliar environment and wondering how the hell they got there. Upon trying to warp home, they discover that none of their chaos abilities are working, so they set off trying to find civilization to figure out the next step. As it turns out, the first people they find are overlanders -- and they get captured to be sold as rare, exotic pets! The bulk of this story revolves around Knux and Fini trying to get by without their abilities and find a way to escape.

IN ADDITION, I have a couple of AUs that aren't even based on Knux and Fini. In these stories, I play Sally instead.

Fallout: New Mobius AU - I'm sure lots of you are familiar with @fini-mun's Fallout-based Sonic comic. I dig it so much I of course just HAD to RP in that continuity, and I kinda-sorta adopted Fini-mun's version of Sally but not exactly. She is still from a vault, but this version doesn't retain the calm, calculating nature that Sally usually has. Having grown up as the Overseer's daughter, Sally was not well-liked by her peers at all, and with her father typically too busy to spend time with her, this version is a very quiet people-pleaser that badly lacks self-confidence. Sadly, Sally's life gets turned upside down when the vault stages an uprising and murders her father -- and intends to kill her as well to prevent her from following in his footsteps. Sally barely makes it out of the vault alive, but now has to face the unforgiving nature of the wasteland, which chews up and spits out so many wanderers far tougher than herself. This AU was going well, but we shelved it indefinitely because we wanted to get back to other stories. Hopefully one day we'll pick it back up again, because I liked where it was going!

Undertale AU - Somehow I didn't even notice that both of the RPs where I play Sally are based on other video games. OH WELL. This RP has followed the general story line of Undertale pretty well so far, but Sally herself has definitely been the most intriguing aspect of this game. Like the Fallout AU, she's not at all like her canon self; in addition to being much younger, this version of Sally has an veeeery aggressive personality. She has an EXTREMELY short temper and has almost no ability to trust others, insisting that people are "fake" and "pretending to be nice." Her extreme anger fits frequently cause her to scream, throw things, kick things, slam doors... and despite all this, so far she's managed to take the pacifist route. Her character growth throughout this RP has been outrageously satisfying to watch, and I think this'll prove to be another one of my all-time favorite AUs. This game is still in progress, so as of this writing, I don't know how it's going to end!

AAAAAND I think that’s all the major AUs I can think of. If I realize I’ve left something out, I’ll try to remember to make another post to add it in.

Oh! I wanna hear your hyper critical opinions towards p3 (and p4 if youre up to it). I am genuinely curious as to what it is!

pDSOAPFADFJIOA;FJIA;JF;DA Ahhhhhhh if only I wrote down everything I said (I did this over a year ago). under the cut cause long:

It was easier cause I was ripping it as we played and I had some nitpicks in the dialogue (more so with like “WAIT THAT MAKES NO SENSE!” or “WHY ARE YOU JUMPING TO THAT CONCLUSION?!” kinda thing rather than a translation error). But I can’t really specify what it was cause it was so long ago. The only one that comes to mind is when they’re jerks to Naoto, it must be how she’s talking in Japan cause like.......they’re really, REALLY rude to her. Like, they do realize she has a right to be suspicious of them right? Like, don’t get me wrong, I loooooooove the animosity in some way (great foe-yay/rival shipping yay fodder for me to ship her with the MC ahuhuhu 8U) but dang I wish they made more tension (and made it even). That’s actually the one thing I thought the P4 anime did right (and trust me I don’t think that anime did a lot of things right, esp concerning Naoto...ironically XD), they really built the tension between her and the group very well. Anyway I want to go into more detail some other time, maybe when I replay the two games, but for now I’ll give you a general overview).

Ok so all and all I think P3 and P4 are fine the way they are. They did a good job with them. P3 for being Hashino’s first hoorah into the series (also didn’t have enough time or money to include everything and had to cut stuff, LIKE THE FEMC! ;W;), and P4 for.....having such....a small.....budget....and....not a lot of time....and.....the company was struggling.....Like dang man I’m surprised we got P4. So like, compared to P5, I’m a lot easier on these two cause in one case Hashino was trying to find his style, and the other he was struggling with working with almost nothing (P5, however, didn’t have any of these issues).

Ok so like.....My biggest issue with P3 is mostly it’s characters and character relationships. P4.....I wish we could’ve hung out with Naoto earlier (even before she joined the team, that would’ve been interesting if the MC and her met up and attempted to draw more info out of each other about the case), and I wouldn’t have minded if they added more to the murder plot.

P3....ngl the first act until Aigis show’s up is.....so....slow.....and boring....and no one is really likeable imo. I hated Yukari, I hated Junpei. Mitsuru seemed interesting but she wouldn’t hang out. Akihiko....didn’t really care for him, but I couldn’t hang out with him. I couldn’t hang out with Yukari or Junpei if I wanted to (Yukari won’t hang out till around Aigis joins anyway, I remember from my last playthrough we tried, it was an NG+ and she snubbed us). Kenji is a moron (don’t hate him, feel bad for him, but god so boring), Kaz is a moron, didn’t do Yuko the first time (should’ve I did like her, hate I only got the first rank the first time I ever played through P3), I didn’t like Chihiro (she started off fine but was kinda creepy later on), can’t hang with Fuuka unless you have maxed courage cause eff me (not like I can ever remember her gd link anyways that’s how forgettable it is, I don’t even like Yukari but at least I remember her’s). Basically......the SL sucked balls. Major balls (I liked Maiko, the Star dude, the old couple, the Hermit, and the Devil......I guess the Tower too he was ok, and....that’s it....for outside teammate links aka Aigis and Mitsuru). Silly was not a happy camper when she popped P3 in after having fun with P4 (and esp after being told P3 was a GAZZILLION TIMES BETTER!!!!1!), tbh I took like a 4 month break from P3 and replayed P4 before I picked P3 back up (after Aigis showed up I def enjoyed it a heck of a lot more after that). Now, P3′s plot is really good and very solid, it’s P3′s strong point. My issue is that.....everything P3 does is for the sake of the plot. It does it well, don’t get me wrong, but everything about the characters is only happening cause “plot demands it.” They never felt super fleshed out, and it’s probably why they feel a little odd (maybe even flat-ish) in the spinoff games (even more so than the P4 team), cause the spinoff games aren’t relying on their (P3′s) plot. I also don’t buy a lot of their friendships (esp the males teammates with the Male MC), Yukari and Mitsuru’s is....ok (I don’t like how the game makes it feel like “oh you have a dead dad? me too! let’s be friends” as a thing, I know she’s just trying to relate and sympathize but.....I’ve seen that as a complaint come up by a lot of people, for someone so popular Yukari isn’t much of a people person in this regard, from how the game frames it that is). Also the fact you can’t friend girls. There’s not a lot of bonding moments in the game, there’s more than P5, but I still don’t feel as close to the team as I should even by the end. And gawd, Ryoji? Wut I’m friends with him now? How? When? I like the guy but I don’t think he likes me. You’d think he’d want to hang out with me cause.....PHAROS! ;W;

There’s more but I don’t want to leave you hanging, but anyway it’s just....I have a lot of issues with how the characters are handled. They’re good characters, I wish there just....more to them. But the thing is.....THIS IS AN EASY FIX! You’ve probably heard me say about the P5 manga/anime “a change in medium can do wonders” or something like that. That’s cause I have P3 to look at. The manga and movies do wonders for P3 my problems with P3. There’s more bonding, character relationships are improved yadda yadda. Yes there are issues within the manga and movies themselves...... but they do a lot of good things too. One of the things the movies did was actually......influenced by it’s P3P remake (aka establish a relationship with Ryoji, yay!). Oh man, P3P/the FeMC fixed sooooooooooooo many problems (it also added some even more awesome duality to a game that already had a lot of duality going on with it), I can talk to Yukari and Junpei from the get go (and they treat me different, and more pleasantly than when I played as the dude), I can actually hang out with the guys (and I DON’T automatically have to date them, in fact I have to work to date them, every single one), the stats for character requirements are laid out more fairly like in P4 so by the time someone is available I can probably talk to them (without having to kill myself trying to manage my social stats).But man, the first act just flows so much better when you’re able to bond with your teammates (also Rio and Saori are great SLs!). Even tho they don’t change the female SLs pretty much at all (making it veeeery gay XD), it does feel like it is at least a friendship by the end (even tho I’m literally dating everyone and you can’t tell me otherwise! 8U). I also love her personality comes across more clearing (and varied) than the males, there’s a more clear progression of her psyche than her male counterpart (it’s still there, just not as obvious, and I love how they’re inverted to each other~! :D). It’s just, with P3, the really minor changes go a LOOOOOOOOOOONG way. The only thing I would change with P3 is the minor stuff. Just add more scenes (that don’t take up time) to the game, on both sides. Gameplay wise add more SLs, alternative SLs even. Heck, if they remade the game, I think being able to go to new places would be cool (and it’d be where you’d meet your new SLs) cause man you’re in a city, you deserve to do more stuff! It’s just the little things man, the little things can make a big impact! It says something that probably my fav Persona fanfic and fav Strain42 Persona parody comicis the P3(P) ones, even tho P4 is my fav game. You change a few things around, even the medium, and it makes a difference.

Ok onto P4. Now P4 is the opposite of P3, with P4 it’s strong point is it’s characters. The characters drive P4. P4 is character based, P3 is plot based. P4 the plot takes a back seat. This is fine, it works in P4′s favor, like how the plot worked in P3′s favor. P4′s plot is ok, it does a great job with supporting the characters. Sadly I understand if you wanted more murder mystery (or just mystery) in a murder mystery game. And in P4′s defense, again, it had a barebones budget and not a lot of time and the company was doing pretty bad and P4 still came out pretty great (was the most popular before P5 came out, lord knows if it may even come out on top again if it gets an updated graphics/gameplay remake). And it’s also really hard to keep a murder mystery going for about 70-100ish hours (and only finally solving it in the last 1/5 of the game). Also P4, like P3 (forgot to mention that above), sticks to it’s theme really well. Even making it solving it/obtaining the good ending routes semi-difficult. Sure you can deduce Adachi, but tbh it’s also difficult. They do a pretty decent job building the guy up as a friend (even more so in P4G due to the SL). Izanami is also well hidden. The game makes you work and it rewards you.

Now if I were to change stuff.....it’d range from minor to major depending on what we’re talking about. Minor would be adding more scenes of Naoto bonding (she needs it cause the late game doesn’t do her justice), and like I mentioned above, I think have a deduction off would be interesting (Naoto’s SL was one of my favs cause of how we solved a gd mystery, god I’m so mad that never made it into the anime, even as an ova, it could’ve been a great team-building filler one too). Another thing I’d add would maybe be.....something similar to quests, but instead you have to solve a mystery (which means talking to people, and investigating areas), it can range from finding a cat in a tree or finding a bully or whatever. Just something minor that can give the mystery lovers something fun to do. I’d also have Izanami/gas station attendant be an SL (she originally was the Empress before giving that to Margret). Oh I’d also like to take Margret out on “dates” (c’mon gimme dem fun shenanigans). And.....now this can be minor or major (depending on what they do, but it’s probably more major), add another red herring. I don’t care how.....but....it would help draw attention away from Adachi. Maybe they’re added from some of the mini mysteries you solved, maybe they squeeze an extra dungeon into the game some how-some way (doubt it for the later, that’d be a major change), but another red herring would be good.

For a Major change it’d be restructuring the plot a looooooot, adding more dungeons for more red herrings. I would actually make Dojima a red herring. He originally was suppose to be the killer (but they thought that was too dark, understandable), with Adachi as the red herring instead. Other than that I’m not exactly sure how they’d overhaul that. I mean, if they made a P4 game based off of P3P’s route (aka different route/game, different killer), I’d like to see their prototype stuff play out. Short-haired ice queen Yukiko, delinquent/bully Rise, Pretty boy Naoto (actual boy this time, also make him dateable.....what? I like Naoto 8U), 1st year MC, Female Teddie, Adult(?) Kanji, Dojima as the killer, Adachi as the red herring (Chie and Yosuke are actually pretty much the same). I’d really like to see that.

But tbh, I don’t really know where to start in giving P4 a major overhaul (except to go with the prototype set up), possibly cause it’d mean introducing/creating new characters. But P5? I do, oh man I know where I would start (P5 is where I’d make my major changes left and right, no minor changes here...except maybe dungeon 1), I’d make soooooo many changes to P5. But that’s for another time (not now, it’d take too long). 8U
