headcanon thats been rotting in my brain.
so you know friendship bracelets? like the ones made of embroidery floss that are such a huge part of camp culture?
ok lets imagine that in the pjo universe
so you know the folklore i guess that if you tie one on someones wrist they get to make a wish and when it falls off the wish comes true?
and you know how athena is like. THE weaver?
Headcanon that whenever a demigod makes a wish on a friendship bracelet, Athena will grant their wish when the bracelet falls off.

Since Keith & CJ(DJs neice) are friends, and are in the same scout group, Branch & DJ Suki are friendlier towards each other before the 1st movies events
And by that, I mean they mercilessly tease each other whenever their near each other

All I Wanted Was You
We were playing in the sand
And you found a little band
You told me you fell in love with it
Hadn't gone as I'd planned
Thor hummed along to the song, brushing his fingers through his hair. “Stark! What is this song? I quite like it!” Tony laughed, sticking his head into the room. “Its called Hidden In The Sand. Its one of my favorite songs too. So nice and peaceful.” “Guys are we gonna play or not?!” Steve called from the other room. Tony rolled his eyes affectionately, grabbing the tray he had just finished preparing with drinks and a few snacks. “Coming Rogers, relax.” Thor chuckled, following the man into the den. Steve sent them a sour look, setting up the game pieces. “What year is the song from anyway?” He asked, instead of commenting what he clearly wanted to say. Tony cocked his head, setting the tray down on the other side of the table, or at least attempting to, as the table was fairly small, “a suitable size!”, Steve complained, and Thor had to agree, at least compared to the cramped, but cozy little living space. “Its early 2000’s i think.” Tony grinned, sitting down next to the super soldier and handing him a glass. “Sounds like your music huh?” Steve nodded, handing the glass to Thor before accepting the next one. Thor slipped out his asgardian whiskey and poured them all a few fingers full, before sticking it back in his pocket. He nodded to the game in front of them. “Shall we?” He asked, and Tony grinned at him, leaning forward eagerly. “Oh yeah bud. Bring it.” Steve chuckled, rolling the dice between his fingers. “Look at him Thor, so eager. As if he thinks hes going to win.” He clucked disapprovingly with his tongue and Tony gasped dramatically, lunging for the die. Steve laughed, wrestling him away as he reached for Thor. “Save me!” He wheezed as Tony grabbed at his hands. Thor laughed, snatching the dice from his hands instead. “You are both wrong,” he announced. “I will win.” Steve and Tony made eye contact and grinned, sitting up straight. “Yeah? Game on.”
When you had to bid adieu (ooh, ooh, ooh)
Said you'd never love anew (ooh, ooh, ooh)
I wondered if I could hold it
And fall in love with it too
Thor hummed along to the song, tugging the worn board game from the closet. He brushed the dust off, easily maneuvering around the large brooklyn apartment to set it on the table. He sang softly under his breath as he opened the board game, setting the well loved pieces each in their respective spots, running a hand along the rather tight fitting t-shirt he was wearing, pulling up his sweatpants. “You told me to,” He murmured, pulling out three glasses and pouring a bit of Tony’s expensive whiskey into each one. “Buy a pony.” he breathed deeply, sitting down in his seat. “But all I wanted,” He lifted the die. “Game on.” He whispered, a singular tear streaking down his cheek as he smiled at the empty, silent, apartment.
Was you.

I think one of the kindest things you can do for people with various mental health struggles is just... let people back into your life after they've been absent for a while.
Making friends as an adult is so fucking hard already and isolating yourself from other people is a very common symptom of depression, anxiety, burnout, ocd, trauma, grief, etc. Which means that someone will do the hard work of recovery/healing and resurface back into a world where their previous friends have written them off because they stopped showing up.
So if you know someone where you're like "yeah we could have been better friends but they fell off the map a bit" and that person suddenly reaches out, or starts showing up to events even though you kind of forgot they were still in the group chat... well they may have been Going Through It and you don't actually have to punish them for their absence you can just be glad that they're back.

Ive said this before but swear the biggest skill to learn as an adult is how to resist high-pressure sales tactics. You do NOT have to answer questions with anything other than "Sorry I'm not interested." No matter how nice they are or no matter how many follow up questions they ask or even how agitated they get when you stand your ground. Just keep saying I'm not interested. Don't answer their questions. Don't give them an opening to try to push back on your reasons. Be a fucking brick wall of I'm not interested.

My grandfather and my godfather (a beloved neighbor and dear family friend) had a long standing bet- for one dollar- about who would die first. Both of them being slightly pessimistic (in the funny way), they both insisted that they themselves would be the first to die. Any time my grandfather had a health scare, he’d gleefully call up my godfather to boast that he’d be passing “any day now” and he was sure to win the bet. It was a big family joke and they were always amiably sparring and comparing notes about who was in worse shape, medically speaking.
When my grandfather was in hospice care dying of liver cancer, my godfather was quite ill also. It took him great effort to make the journey to see his dying friend. As he came into the room, supported by a family member, he shuffled to my grandpa’s bedside and silently handed him a dollar bill. He was ceding his loss of the bet, as they both knew who was going first. My grandpa had been in quite bad shape for a while and was no longer able to speak but let me tell you he snatched that dollar with unexpected strength and literally laughed aloud. He knew exactly what the gesture meant and he couldn’t help but find the humor within the grief. It was the last time any of us heard my grandpa laugh, as he passed shortly after.
When I talk about my appreciation for “dark humor” I’m not so much thinking about edgy jokes, but rather the human instinct to somehow, impossibly, both find and appreciate the absurdity that is so often folded into the profound grief of life and death. When I tell this story I think it kind of perturbs people sometimes, but it’s honestly one of my favorite memories about two men I really deeply admired. I could never hope for anything more than for my loved ones to remember me laughing until the very end, and taking joy in a little joke as one of my final acts.
