Fish Hooks voltron au

……..is this a joke to you., . do yo u think you can just waltz in here a dn throw this on me  . you think. ,you’re strong? i bet you ddind think i would do this did you. i bet you probably thought i would slap a gif on here and call it a day. “fish hooks voltron au” ill have you know i thoguht long and hard about this. i watched straight episodes just so i can flex my fish hooks voltron au skills u better watch out

the last thing i wanted to read on this was the fact that a crab boy is “small and slender,” with, “apricot lips” but u made me Do it

lance is obviously bea, don’t be ridiculous now. she, just like lance, wants to be the center of attention; the be-all do-all of the fish hooks universe. not to mention the fact that they’re both charismatic charmers and enthusiastic flirts, as both are seen to have an eye for others (lance and nyma and plaxum, for instance. bea with hugh edmanson, bo gregory, etc.) She’s plenty dramatic and likes her spot in the spotlight, be it in various talent shows or theater plays, and I could honestly say the same for lance. you know he would’ve given anything to be the main character of the play or the hero of the day. they’re both talented in their own ways and aren’t afraid to boast about their qualities. however “self absorbed” they may seem to outsiders, though, both are equally devoted to their friends and would most obviously do anything it took to ensure the happiness of others. plus, they both have the signature wink and finger guns pose…………..

i could also see him as milo, too, as both him and bea have a lot in common.

hunk, our smart yet painfully hesitant boy, is oscar. oscar is often times dragged along with bea and milo’s “wacky adventures” throughout the show, and it reminds me of the scene in season 1 episode one where pidge and lance encourage hunk to sneak out of the garrison to quote unquote meet the ladies. hunk would much rather be back at his dorm where he knows he won’t get in trouble, but he loves his friends too much to say no to them. he’s still really hesitant, especially when shiro’s galra pod enters the atmosphere under the guise of aliens, and it reflects oscar’s main personality. oscar, of course, is far jumpier than hunk ever is, but this is just the hesitance of hunk’s personality exemplified to a whole ‘nother level. a smart fish, he obviously knows his stuff, so he also shares his intellect with hunk, our amazing and wonderful engineer. 

the part where it gets difficult is the dynamic with pidge. such is seen within jumbo shrimp and albert glass’s relationship. although i see hunk as oscar, i also see him as jumbo shrimp. you know, the scientifically driven nerd who is best friends with albert glass has an affinity for problem solving and a master of his craft? yeah that dude. 

pidge, as stated earlier, would be amazing as albert glass. the whole nerd lookin fish with the visible brain and stuff. they’re both incredibly intelligent, is best friends with jumbo shrimp and the rest of the gang, and is a really small fishy compared to the rest. albert likes? pineapple on pizza??? and you KNOW for a fact pidge is someone who’d eat pineapple on her pizza too………… disgusting………. in s3e6 of fish hooks has albert refuting the facts that he’s a boy, not a girl, just like how pidge tells everybody in s1e7 that she’s a girl, not a boy. loves card games and monster / alien / etc. related content. think dnd in a sense 

shiro is finberley solely for the fact that she has bad luck and is always injured in one way or another and that just screams shiro. poor dude is always getting beat up, tortured, thrown, captured, etc. neither can take a break smh. i also see some chief in his personality, too. rather than the boss of the hokey poke, he’s the “boss” of voltron. doesn’t really seem to have time for games or shenanegans on the side and is just focused on liberating enslaved planets. however work driven he is, though, he still cares a lot about his team and is shown both in fish hooks and in voltron to interact as a mentor figure for the kids.

keith doesn’t really have one defined character, either. he’s like a mix of piranhica and -. incredibly intimidating to the others and gives off this goth lookin emo junk vibe. piranhica is different in the sense that she’s an actual bully and keith isn’t, but they’re both also quite smart despite what people may initially think. both also like to provoke others and get into heedy arguments. but again, the comparisons only go so far as there is way more to keith than just his stubborn hot headed nature. im also gonna compare him to the goth fish for the sole purpose of making fun of his edgy bad boy loner vibe. maybe even bo gregory?? southern boy??? texan keith is thriving in fish hooks???

coran is dr. frog. and coach salmons in one. enthusiastic jack of all trades who knows all that he’s talking about whilst also having a very involved role with interacting with the students / paladins. moreso coach salmons than anything else, he can appear to be a bit too much upon a first glance but then you see deep down that behind the extreme enthusiasm he shows, he deeply cares for those he teaches. coran, their sort of uncle, obviously shows these traits.

last but not least, allura is probably the hardest out of this thread. of course fish hooks isnt going to have the super strong, intelligent, reliable, and resilient character who is extremely diplomatic yet also simultaneously fun-loving and compassionate. i cant even begin to compare her to anyone in this god forsaken show because i feel like i’d be doing her a disservice. shellsea??? but only for the fact that she’s ultimately supportive and gives good advice to others but . like thts 2% of shellsea’s personality so it doesnt work out too much.
