Day 14. Creativity challenge with @thela_edit and @theinspirationalsocialclub is something you baked so this is my Photo 1: Bread and butter pudding scattered with with sultanas and cinnamon and crunchy sugar - it’s almost like a lochshun pudding but has milk and butter added as well as eggs and sugar and bread!! It was delicious. I have to be gluten free /Fodmaps and am sugar intolerant so I couldn’t eat much of it but what I had was delicious, topped with clotted cream!! . It is standing on my vintage bread board! The rest of the photos are a selection from our dog walk exercise earlier today. They are only iPhone clips and grabs as we don’t like to be out any longer than we should be when the government is still instructing us to stay at home, keep safe and save lives. ., Photo 2 I seemed to create a rainbow to say thank you to the nhs today. . . . Day 11 Grateful for: so today we are sharing posts about what we are grateful for and the main thing I'm truly grateful for, is for being in good health so far, and for our wonderful NHS and key workers, who are working so hard to look after us all during such challenging times. But what else am I grateful for? Well, I'm grateful for family and friends. I'm grateful for technology so we can keep in touch. I'm grateful for having a dog and having wonderful places to walk and nature, birdsong and bluebells. Yes, I'm grateful for so many things. I'm grateful that I've had a wonderful life, and that I chose to follow my dreams and work as a wedding, portrait and business photographer, which is work I absolutely love. . Even through all the upset and worry, it’s hard not to notice what beautiful weather we have been having these past few weeks. . . So Day 10 of our challenge from @thela_edit and @theinspirationalsocialclub is about the current season. . . Well we have been having a fabulous spring season around here. And with all the sadness and upset going on in these exceptional times, I have been looking out for positivity whenever possible.. . One thing I’ve noticed when out on our daily exercise dog walk, is that the birds seem to be singing louder and have maybe moved a little closer as we are perhaps being less noisy with less traffic around. And all the spring flowers seem to be blooming more brightly too. . Here are some spring flowers that to me are typical of Springtime - primroses (yellow) and hawthorn (white) or May flower. There is a saying in the UK - “n’er cast no clout ‘til May be out”. Many people take this to mean don’t go into thin summer clothes until the end of the month of May, but to many others, it refers to May as in mayflower - the flower from the Hawthorne, so when the Hawthorn is in flower it’s warm enough to wear summer clothes and forget your coat!! . When I see these flowers and the bluebells in the photos following, I always think of warm spring days, and sunny blue skies.. . Day 9 Throwback Thursday: A little selection of iPhone photos of prints from my notice board - today we are posting something for #throwbackthursday With @thela_edit @theinspirationalsocialclub.: Photo 1: my little boy aged around 18 months (now he’s 27yrs old and living in the centre of London!)!. Photo 2: my daughter (now grow up and living in Australia) and my son playing in the back garden on holiday in the North of France . Photo 3: me around aged 7yrs old with a donkey that was a walking shop in Spain on holiday in the early 1970’s.. . And even though these times now seem very far away, these unprecedented times of the pandemic have helped me realise how lucky I was to be taken to destinations over the years on lovely holidays with my sister and my parents in relative safety from illness. . . Day 8 of @thela_edit and @theinspirationalsocialclub One photo a day challenge. So today I joined in the creative challenge from Lauren and @thela_edit and the @theinspirationalsocialclub - : : So here is Day 7: Creative. I thought I wouldn't have time to join in the challenge today, due to my space clearing tasks, but part of the reason I am (usually) a full-time photographer is because I am constantly noticing different things around that I want to capture with camera to freeze them in time. I mostly notice shadows and light but also scenes, colours, daily lives and of course, people. I then find a camera or grab my iPhone to capture the scene. So this happened again today just after we'd eaten our dinner at the table. (We generally eat at the table - except if we have takeaway pizza!) I had noticed the golden evening Sunlight was streaming in through the dining room window. I noticed how it picked up the three yellow condiments that were left strewn on the table - the two mustards and the block of anchor butter. I wanted to highlight the three items and all the yellow items because I loved how the sunlight poured in and warmed everything up and picked out the 3 matching yellow everyday items. So I decided that they would show up more if I got them closer together. So the result of this is the first photo. I like the finished photo because I like how it picks up the mundanity of these everyday products and puts them into the spotlight! So here we have Photo 1: what I created Photo 2: What was there originally that sparked my photo Photo 3: I then carried on experimenting with the window sunlight By taking a photo of my reflection in the mirror. Day 6 1st photo: My favourite corner or shelfie. . Well the corners are slightly strange in this house as we are mid-terrace the house is built more of a parallelogram rather than square shaped house. So corners are not the usual angle. So here is a favourite area that seems to have evolved its own floral theme. It’s actually one of the few tidy parts of the house as I am also doing some space clearing and reorganising.. The photos following are a second shelfie - this is my shelf with lots of precious bits and pieces on it and then on the shelf above , just a couple of model trains - that shelf is mr JGP’s - not mine! 3,4,5,6 photos are a selection from our exercise walk this morning. Bluebells are coming into flower nicely and the huge chestnut tree in the corner of the woods is coming into leaf. The other photo here is the view of the canal taken from the upstairs blue painted balcony. We overlook some office buildings but I can blinker those out and I only see the canal!!. Day4 A recipe to share with what I found in the fridge. This was today’s suggested challenge from Lauren @thela_edit and @theinspirationalsocialclub.. This is one of my favourite salads. It’s adapted for me to be fodmaps and originally was from @natashacorrett a few years ago from her #honestlyhealthy cookery book. It’s basically red cabbage, fruit, cucumber, celery, carrot, spring onion, but only the green part, and I add a handful of peanuts too. The dressing is fresh orange juice squeezed over from the peeled orange skins, olive oil, gluten free tamari sauce and lemon juice. Day3 Floral Friday . . Floss and I walked to the bluebell woods this morning, for our daily exercise walk. . . The beautiful wild bluebells are just opening so they are a deep blue sea of flowers in the distance, but when you get closer, they seem to be more green leaves and only small flowers. But they have not all fully opened yet. We managed to take a couple of pictures whilst waiting to give other walkers lots of space to pass by. . Then we planned an afternoon in the garden. . . I gathered up a few books to look through and read and set them out on a little table in the garden covered with a pretty floral cloth. . . I turned around and noticed Floss had also gathered some of her favourite things and displayed them carefully beside mine!!! . . My chosen items are: . my books, a few flowers I found around the garden, my favourite mug of tea, and the pretty soft muted tablecloth. . . Floss’s favourite things included: a tugging rope that’s lost it’s toy, her favourite grubby hexagon ball and lastly, her most treasured toy of all; her found-by-herself, old, broken, torn-to-shreds, but oh so loved, football! .. . We really appreciated being able to spend an hour in the garden today - we don’t have many plants growing there yet as there was nothing at all when we first moved in, but it’s outside space and we feel lucky to have it, especially now with social distancing, and we love it. . Day 23 : Relax! So even on your wedding day - if there’s a bath tub in your bedroom.... well you get in it! Fully clothed, no water!! And that was just part of the fun we all had a few months back on the morning of the wedding preparations Adrienne and Bens wedding day. And if you swipe along you can see the bride here laughing and joking with her family and friends in Photo 1 and 2 . . And then in the last photo a few hours later, the bride and groom came out through showers of confetti and to cheers and whoops from their friends and family. Day 22 of our challenge in #stayinspiredstayconnected is : Candles! . . Photo 1 : . When photographing a wedding, I love to photograph all the natural shots of the fun, laughter and emotions of the day of the wedding couple, family and guests, but at every wedding I make sure I slip away from the reception for a few moments to go and check out the wedding breakfast room. I love those last few minutes when I explore the room all beautifully decorated and ready to shortly receive the guests. And I capture photographs of as many details as I can to help tell the story of the day. . . At this wedding, the candles were just sitting waiting to be lit before the fun continued and the meal began. .. . Photo 2 : Me earlier today. Day 21 : Where would you rather be right now. Well I’m very happy where I am right now - Id just really like to have my family able to visit me like they did at Easter in 2019. Here we all are having lunch in the garden. As my daughter lives in Sydney I don’t often get a photo with her and my son and I altogether so this is really special and also has my sister and her family in it too. So that’s Photo 1! .. . Photo 2 is another photo of the canal here but I don’t walk along here as the towpath is very narrow in parts and the path is very popular. . Photo 3 is of The Thames from London Bridge last May - I love going in to London with my camera and capturing photos there but have not done that since January! . . Photo 4 is of Scarborough Beach in Perth Western Australia in January 2020 when I was last there : I’m always happy to be in Perth because my cousins are there and it’s great to be together. . . Photo 5 is my favourite beach near where my daughter lives in Sydney and we swam there when I stayed with her in January 2020.
