Praise Rhonas! Smash with him too

So this article is suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuper late. Like a month late. I am so sorry. So we picked two Gods.

This snake dude here got one of the votes. Now normally I’d say something witty, but see, I built this deck in how I would play Big Green. See below for the deck and the plays.

This card here. This 10 mana card. This is the whole deck. We have four other cards in the deck that are not permanents. Pray that we already drew them before casting this. We have 19 ramp cards. Not a lot in my opinion, but it’ll do Snake, it’ll do. Now can we win without Primal Surge, ya. Do we want to? Maybe??? Over all It’s our Bread and butter, our Peanut Butter and Jelly. Our %50 off one whole meal coupon.  Now I’m just going to talk about key cards. We’re mono Green big dudes. The deck is really easy on the learning curve.

Drop this early. Yes it can help everyone, but we’ll drop our whole hand each run if able. So we’re going to constantly draw 3. We can never say Uno sadly. 

17 of our cards have ETB effects. Some of which draws us cards.

Look at that control player, then that combo player...then those players who play spells. 

Draw all the cards. It is you who has played them. Or they wasted a spell to kill it. Either way, laugh.

Yes we need to give something up each turn, but it allows our dudes to get stronger, and live. This with Soul of New Phyrexia, and Heroic Intervention make sure that us spamming the field works. After a while our mana dorks aren’t really doing much. For monument, you could sacrifice Hooded Hydra to get some tokens.

This is the last guy I’m going to talk about. He’s the alpha strike. Once we have a full field. Pay 5, 10, 15 mana and make our dudes huge. With Rhonas on the field, we can possibly win outright. As for Nissa, Vital Force. We are using her to get back well anything needed on the field. We can get her out early, and then get her ult off the following turn. If that happens, we’re drawing through our deck with a turn 6 boundless realms. Normally I’d put down what to add and take out. Big green decks can be played in a multitude of ways. For me personally I like the idea of getting a Primal Surge off, and just laughing as my creatures are indestructible and can swing later next turn.  There are so many good big Green dudes, and Green allows itself to token strategies. I initially wanted to do the deck with some Elf tribal to be able to thin out the deck, while having afield for Rhonas to pump, but there are better elf-centric generals for that. There’s also landfall.deck, but again, other generals to do that fun stuff with. If I had to add a card: 

It gives haste, and can just outright win the game. The card is $20 on it’s own, and that would be a lot for this budget. Speaking of budget, our budget was $150, and because of basic lands, we are at $150. 62. So plays to focus on. Our early game ramp is easily disrupted, so get Rhonas out turn two, it’s doable. From there spam our mana dorks and get out our orrery.  Draw as much as we can. Yes, spamming the field early can hurt us, but if we drop a Monumenet we can stay safe until we drop our threats; Hooded Hydraw, Kamahl, and Avenger of Zendikar are some to name. Perhaps one day I’ll return to this deck, but this is one I’m happy to whip out for some good fun. We have an easy learning curve, and we aren’t oppressive. Also we have the flexibility to change the deck to do completely different things. Green has some of the best ramp, actually we have all of it. We have some of the best creatures, and our planeswalkers (while only really having Garruk and Nissa), have some of the coolest effects. We have graveyard hate that gives us creatures, we have dudes that just don’t die, and if our dudes die, then nature gives us something else. As always, thank you for reading. Commander Challenge: Your Prayers have been heard. It’s a tie!

We got a total of 18 votes! We still ended up with a tie. Usually that would mean I would do a tie breaker. Since I’m about four days late, I will be giving you both “winners”.

Winner #1, with a $120 deck. Snek God. By turn 4 we will be swinging in with our mighty God! Let us see what the might of Green can do for us. Our Second winner is:

She takes the living, makes them dead. Hurls them at our opponents. What can we do to make her swing every turn? Just that!
