Ko had decided to take a night walk. He had gotten into an argument with one of his brothers and the demon didn't want to be home. So, a walk should help him relax. He promised his mother that he'd have his enchanted raven necklace with him and that his father could have a small animal keep an eye on him if needed.

He stopped when he noticed a figure... floating?

He tilted his head when the being spoke.

"It is."

Indeed, the night was cool and crisp. Which is the reason Ko had taken himself out for a walk.

"You do not... seem familiar..." Ko muses, "Are you... new?"

the hermit who helps

at first, you were a resource for the established characters to turn to, but you quickly began to steal the show due to your personality, your usefulness, or your inherently interesting perspective on life. you were pretty much already able to provide for yourself, but the next thing you know, these people are growing on you. instead of asking favors, it becomes an invitation to socialize. you find yourself sticking around for no apparent reason other than you like it here. the people are fun to watch, if nothing else, but ultimately they're just--oh no. oh no, you care about them. you always thought you stayed away from this "relationship" stuff for a reason. it gets messy and isn't worth it unless it really works. for some reason, this group really works. these weirdos are now your weirdos, and if anything happens to them, there will be hell to pay. you were basically already looking after them before this, after all. welcome to the family, hermit.

usually, you're able to bottle up your emotions and ignore the frustrations. but, after weeks of shoving everything down, your body needs a release, and i pity the poor person who managed to piss you off. it's screaming crying, shouting, kicking lockers, whatever you can do to get it out of your system. it's a whole jean grey moment, fire and fury blasting out of you.

Friends are something that Ko has issues making, so maybe he knows how the other feels. But, he also wasn't the most social demon out there.

"I do not... have a connection with nature. My father... does. He's very... concerned about his children."

Ko didn't have a connection with nature, at least... he thinks he doesn't. But, with few times he's had his adoptive father's blood... he is truly unsure. Maybe this is something he'll talk about with Haruki later.

"Seeds are... best for birds. Bread can... upset the stomach of...some species."

Ko titled his head, and sometimes he wonders how he got into these situations. But, he isn't crazy enough to risk burning.

"Ravens."

Ah, so Indigo isn't connected then.

At least, this is what Ko has come to conclude. And it seems his parents have as well. The raven spirit in his necklace would have come out and begun to attack if the other was affiliated.

His father would have also appeared in person as well.

The bushes rustle and the demon turns his head. Stepping out was a stag. Ko hums, seems his father had switched forest fauna. He can't blame him, there's a stranger close to his child. What parent wouldn't be worried?

"It appears that... I can give my name." Ko had noticed the stag give a nod. His father would allow a small conversation, then.

"It's Ko."

Ah! So, they like to stay hidden unless necessary.

"I can give my name... but..."

Ko had to be careful to who he gives his name too. He didn't want him to find where he has gone and come to attack. His parents are also watching and his father has a habit of being the unfriendliest Forest Spirit the demon has known.

"Are you... affiliated... with him?"
