          He might’ve fucked up somewhere, probably, what with Yamato suddenly going on a vacation. At least the man would admit it, but with the title, it’s not as if he had any bit of a break. If it really had been a break, there wouldn’t be anything to worry about; all in his mind would be about staying lazy and recharging energy!

          Doesn’t work when you end up missing your boyfriend.

Which is precisely why Yamato goes to find Yuki first upon his arrival, figuring it’d be simple enough since they’re both homebodies.

          “Yuki-san!” he called out into the complex, pausing a moment at the easily noticeable physical change on his boyfriend. It’s a striking change from long hair to short, and especially when it’s as short as when they had first met. “I’m back. Did you decide to cut your hair? It looks good on you.”

Never one for small talk despite the company of someone friendly, Lucifer wasted no time in addressing the subject matter at hand.

“Through my stay here, I have come across the existence of what mortals of Spirale call ‘dramas,’ ‘movies,’ or ‘television series.’ Through repeated research, I’ve discovered that they are similar to the plays performed in the skies for entertainment purposes. However, they differ in that ‘dramas’ are often prepared well in advance of the screening, allowing for the addition of special effects. This includes the application of cosmetics so that the actors may appear realistically wounded, or so I have read.”

“I have also read that idols such as yourself may occasionally take part in ‘dramas’ as actors. Is this the case for yourself, Yuki? Are you well-versed in the production of ‘dramas?’“

And look--it’s catered to bring you all in. Isn’t he nice? (Or devious...?)

“Alright. Thank you all for coming this evening--it’s been fairly slow for a while, but spring is approaching, and there’s about to be a rapid change in pace. I don’t have any solid data on Spirale’s springtime numbers, but I have a few estimates. So--I’ll get to those first. If you look at the table to your left, I’ve found some new inspirations and materials to work with.”

And true to his word, there were a few new fabrics and dyes under a black light, which glowed brilliantly due to the corals of the Swirling Gulf. Beside that were some budding flowers and various other flora from the Mistwood. Beside it were photos of the marvelous landscapes of the wards, for inspiration.

“Ideally, I’d love to play off of themes on the environment of the island. See me for any materials, and if you’d like something specific, I’ll see if I can cover the cost through the business. I want to try and show pieces that are a little on the unorthodox side; be creative. Now--”

To the crowd of workers, he turned.

“Marceline and Haruna, feel free to draft whatever you can. Hornet and I will try to interpret your ideas into tangible clothes.

“Houka and Peridot, you’re on repairs, but I’d love to have some pieces showcasing the technological side of the city. I think it’d be satisfying seeing one of our pieces in High Roller, don’t you?

“Zal, Lux, Martel and Yuki, I’d like you to try and do something a little different. I’ve actually made uniforms for all of you with a spring theme in mind. I trust you’ll wear them proudly. If the rest of you would like to join, I would be very pleased with you.

“And finally, Lady Yotsuyu, I’m going to challenge your use of contrast in most of your everyday outfits. Hopefully you spellbind any woman you come across. Chuck, I would also like to bring you out of your shell a bit. Garner wonder and attention.”

A clap of his hands, and he almost (almost!) looked delighted with everyone.

“Well! You have your instructions. Please see me for any further assistance. I’m increasing our hours as the daylight grows, so please look at your schedules. Good luck!”

          For once, It’s Yuki visiting Yamato’s place, though he would distract himself mostly with Shinano while Yamato lazily stuck to the couch. To no one’s surprise, he’d take the opportunity to drink, though he’d also pair that up with snacking at the various things laid out on the coffee table.

          “It’s almost that time, Yuki-san,” Yamato said, turning his gaze over to the eldest. “Another year has gone by.”

          Hell, if you’d tell him that he’d make up with the senior idol, among other things, when Yamato first arrived in that particular city, he wouldn’t believe you. Yet here it is, and Yuki’s over there playing around with the puppy that he gifted Yamato in the first place.

Lucifer’s wings were, unfortunately, so conspicuous that it was nigh impossible to walk among the populace without drawing a crowd. So, Lucifer did not walk. Instead, he kept to roof tops and skyscrapers and observed the growing festivities from above. 

It was a trade off between keeping them out perpetually and observing from a place within society, but one that Lucifer was willing to make. Lucifer had spend the past months without wings, and while it was beginning to occur to him how uncharacteristic his own behaviour was, he had missed being able to fly on his own. He had missed the agency and independence the option had provided. And he had realized how much he had taken it for granted. How little he had been able to call his own in life, and yet even in this life after death, he had been granted even less.

So Lucifer intended to make the most of it while it lasted. 

This winter mid-morning found the former supreme primarch in a quiet yet particularly sunlit area of a park, his wings spread wide in the rays of light that filtered down through the trees. Even Lucifer found pleasure in such simple things, and indeed, bathing his wings in swaths of sunlight had been something he had missed as well.

YEAH HEY UHHHHHHH I'm loving the fact that you're playing an irredeemable Lucilius. Like... you're not trying to change his character or make him "good" or soften him up for the sake of others.
