THE STORY OF MILEX
April 21, 2007.
The first of two joint gigs of Monkeys and The Little Flames in Sheffield, the home club Leadmill.
Where Miles will spend the night?
At Alex's house, ofc, because the songs for future Puppets' album will not write themselves😊
It is necessary to build a spiritualistic circle with guitars, to cuddle up to each other with your knees, well, because magic is built on this, you know;) Any free time for writing Puppets songs😉 Yeahh…
We have one tiny but priceless photo.
Tumblr media
NME written two articles about the gig. One with the announcement of the next gig and the release of the second album. Noted that Turner was taciturn (well, as always):
«Arctic Monkeys played an intimate homecoming show to a joyous crowd at the Sheffield Leadmill last night (April 21, 2007). Alex Turner remained next to silent in between songs, speaking only to thank the crowd towards the end of the gig, earned him enourmous cheers.
The second article is the author's material, there are more beautiful epithets to describe all this splendor. Very sweet, but the description of "505" will add: "Best though is their encore, the glorious future Glasto-slayer '505'. "In my imagination you're lying waiting on your side/With your hands between your thighs", sighs Alex with the grace and composure of a less misanthropic Morrissey".
What was on this song between our guys, we can guess, because we only have 30 seconds from the video (Oasismad). And that's the end of the song.

THE STORY OF MILEX
Stop and wait a sec. Here it is. The very first live 505.
On April 5, 2007, Arctic Monkeys at Later with Jools Holland. Four small, but very bright stars and a fifth, which always need. A guiding star that always leads Alex to his home. To his heart. And, therefore, to him. If it is a 7-hour flight or a 45-minute drive. Only the path matters. Isn't that right, Alex?
* Alex turns around and looks at his fifth star M.

THE STORY OF MILEX
On the back of the CD cover of the third single of Arctic Monkeys, which includes covers as b-sides Put Your Dukes Up John & Baby, I’m Yours there is a small essay written by Alex. After such "notes in the side" he will do in the era of the second album, FWN.
(Very loudly, Alexander!):
Tumblr media
"And they were left with their good friend Speculation,it was felt to be the best way. It was hard to be sure but was certainly suspected there were many unanswered questions, perhaps more amongst some than others. “We’ll meet again,on a more weathered landscape” was thought but never really said".
Pure and genius (!) a metaphor mixed with an idiom which translates from AlexTurnerish to human means: In that situation/at that time, they could only guess when they could work together again, but both wanted it, although they didn’t really said. And this desire, not spoken aloud, sounds like an intention.
Tumblr media
And on the disc itself, the phrase:
“With cries of ‘the boy’s gone soft!’ they will part, not a moment too soon”.
And that was Alex's promise, ladies and gents. Which was executed about a year later! Is someone talking about romance? Yes, definitely.
