Okay, so I have advice:

Get Firefox. There’s automatic privacy protection, and it’s important for step 2.

Download the micro matrix (sometimes referred to as uMatrix) extension. This is a highly configurable blocker; you can not only block ads, but you can block specific elements from specific domains. You can choose to block tracking scripts from google, css from Facebook, images from domains that host tracking pixels. And these changes can be saved for each site. The only downside is that there’s a bit of a learning curve.

Learn about various services and extensions, such as just the recipe (which removes all clutter from a recipe blog), 12 foot ladder (legally gets around paywalls), Unpaywall (also gets around paywalls on articles), BugMeNot (shared logins for non-paid services that require accounts), and several others that I cannot remember off the top of my head (additions to this list are welcome)

There are a number of other tips on a YouTube channel I follow, TheHatedOne. Small channel, high production value, incredibly experienced on the subject of digital anonymity. It was from him that I learned much of what I tell you all.
