I picked up this book back in the summer. I never knew what to really expect to be honest. It is based on a story of some female pilots back in world war 2 and it is breathtaking. The story is still just a story, it is not in the form of a documentary but yet you feel like you are reading a journal. It is quite personal in emotion and life and it is gorgeous. I only started this on Dec 25, yesterday as it is now Boxing Day and I am not able to put it down. It is very enjoyable and I just want to spend the whole day reading it. Sadly that is not an option but I will read all I can while I can. This feels like a breath of fresh air that I took and it is just gorgeous. Loving it. Truly am. Minority opinion alert. 🤷‍♀️ I read so many rave reviews for The Flight Girls and for me it was just okay. Don’t get me wrong, I liked it, but I think it was a bit on the fluffy side for me. I think the author attempted some balance with the large cast of badass female pilots in WWII, but the overall feel was still very much “cozy romance,” despite the dark backdrop of the war. This one left me wanting a bit more. Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for providing an advance copy in exchange for a review! ❤❤❤❤❤❤
