Hard to get a selfie with him in frame because 1) his head is very big and I am very small and have to fully extend my arm for his head to be in frame 2)The minute I started taking photos he smiled and collapsed for belly rubs

Nine is a MASSIVE Discworld fan, and is especially partial to the City Watch due to Sam Vimes. I mean, I've already made the case repeatedly that Christopher Eccleston would be an amazing Vimes, so it's no stretch for the Ninth Doctor to love that character too. Nine is easily the most Vimesque of all the Doctors.

Hmmm. Probably a mix of everything, really; I like to make sure everything works correctly and meshes in together well. And it can vary depending on the story in question; a cosy AU scenario, for example, might focus more on character than plot whereas a high-octane multi-chapter action-adventure fic is going to inevitably focus on plot and worldbuilding more.

Short answer? Ancient Roman Christmas, basically.

Long answer? A week long (17-24 December) celebrations during which you gamble, drink, feast with friends and most importantly exchange gifts! That's where most Christan traditions came from, such as wreaths, feasting, lighting candles, singing, decorating trees or Santa (Free Man's) hats, though the Saturnalia ones don't have the fluff. And of course the Mistletoe, but that's also a Celtic thing too.

...if I'm being honest the only original, truly Christian thing about Christmas is attending the Mass and the nativity scene. Everything else is pretty much pagan traditions Christans like to pretend is theirs.
