His gaze drifted up from the video game to see the tall lanky brunette walk through his door, and it took no more than the look on his face for him to hit the pause button and to open up his arms to her. Whatever it was, it was clear that she was upset, and he’d do anything to put a smile back on her face again or hurt whoever had hurt her to begin with. As soon as she was settled on his lap, he wrapped his arms back around her and pressed a light kiss to the top of her head knowing she’d talk when she was ready.
