Here are some Tron fic recs, since you asked...

(starting with my own, because shameless plug?...) Saving Jordan by TheEvilElfLord: Flynn takes Jordan to the Grid after the car crash in an attempt to save her.

Tron: Insurrection by TheEvilElfLord: Clu escapes the Grid and tries to take over the UserWorld. (Currently on hiatus)

Salvage What You Can by toomanyteeth: Rinzler tries to fix the grid after Clu and the Users are gone.

Serendipity by Grimoiregirl: The MCP and Tron team up to stop Jared Leto's character

A young User's code can't be that complex, right man? by Oosbeck: crack fic where Clu learns to edit Sam's code. (Highly recommend anything by Oosbeck.)

Walking Man's Road by doritosandstars: short fic about Flynn giving a speech at a Halloween party. (Recommend anything by them. Their writing is good.)

3Rs verse by echo_gace: Alan and Sam stumble into the Grid shortly after Flynn disappears.... It turns into so much more than that though. (Highly recommend.)

Domestic by tehkittykat: Alan brings a very traumatized Rinzler into the User world. (This one is probably among my top 5, if not my favourite.)

The Waiting Place by that_runneth: Flynn doesn't go missing. (As a warning, this one is rated E, although iirc those elements are minor.)

Mea Culpa by 2019-2020: Fluff with a side of Angst. Alan talks to Tron while doing laundry. (Not the best description but I cannot describe how incredibly beautiful and soft this one is.)

The Sea Like Stars by DragonWarden: Clu and Rinzler accidentally make it through the portal with Flynn, Sam, and Quorra.

The Devil's Dues by DragonWarden: Sam and Tronzler try to survive a user world that has fallen to the nuclear apocalypse.

Rectify by Aldhibah: "In which Clu's plans go horribly right." (Rated M, but those parts can be skipped without losing much of the story if you don't want to read that part.)

Damnatio Memorae by Fallowsthorn: Rinzler struggles with the fact that Clu erased his memories of Tron. (Beautifully written and another favourite.)

For the book ask meme: 1, 15 and 19

1. book you’ve reread the most times?

 probably the harry potter series just cause its one of the early series i read so ive had more reread opportunities

15. recommend and review a book.

since its on my mind cause im rereading it rn ima reccommend Pandora Hearts by Mochizuki Jun (manga are books basically).  The starting premise is that this kid named Oz is told by a mysterious cult-like group that his existence is a sin and is banished to separate dimension called the Abyss as punishment.  In the Abyss, he meets a “chain” (which is kind of like a demon) who takes the form of a girl named Alice.  They escape the Abyss together and decide to help each other in their goals; Alice wants to regain her memories that have been scattered in the world and Oz wants to find out why his existence is supposedly a sin.  (the plot gets hella expanded past that but thats just the first couple chapters)

anyway, things i enjoy about it:

the characters are great.  Theres a pretty big cast and theyre super well developed with unique personalities, backstories, and motivations 

the plot twists are Insane. like when stuff happens it completely blows your mind but then when you go back the clues were there the whole time and stuff you think might be plot holes are actually connected to huge reveals later on. its just super well done

theres a lot (a lot) of sad stuff in it but it still manages to have a overall hopeful atmosphere. nothing is done for shock value so the tragic events are poignant and meaningful 

it uses a lot of alice in wonderland imagery and references, but it isnt a remake/retelling. the effect it has it pretty cool  

the art is super pretty. like its pretty decent in the beginning but the improvement over even just the first 20% of the story is amazing and the entire rest of the series is gorgeous

its just so so good imo

It did?? Oh wow I’m glad you liked it so much! Yeah the Alcatraz fandom is so tiny! Or at least not very active. After I read the books I went into the tag and saved in drafts I think that most of the posts in there.

I’ve been meaning to post some Alcatraz and Rithmatist stuff, but I want to give people a heads up so they can blacklist the tags if they havent read it. Besides since I’m a cosmere blog and technically they are not cosmere... But oh well I still want to post some stuff about it.

I mean the only reason I still use like 3 tags for OB spoilers is because I’m too lazy/busy to make a post asking if its ok to stop tagging them as spoilers

Please understand in my other ask I'm not trying to argue with you over the use of the word exclusive; exclusive is accurate in the sense you used it. And if my understanding is even marginally correct, I agree that it is important to create 'exclusive' groups in addition to 'inclusive' groups. At first I thought the commenter was just confused but now I see that they were just being rude.

That’s okay -- I was just explaining why I chose to use it. I understand that some may have negative experiences with the term that might turn them off from using it altogether. I respect that choice. I just choose to use it because of those reasons I gave.

I think the word exclusive in your post is not a "good" word to use (I can't think of a more accurate word than good rn) because it is easily confused with using the word to mean excluding groups from the community. If I'm understanding your post you mean creating nich groups within the community that are very specific "subgroups" of the LGBT+ community (for example, Ace, subgroup aro ace, subgroup poc aro ace, etc...) to talk about issues specific to them, but not actually excluding anyone.

I don’t consider exclusive or exclusion to be bad words. It’s the context in which they are used that determine what they mean to asexual people, and in order to combat “bad” connotations we can change how we use the word. 

The reason why I chose to use the word “exclusive” and “exclusion” in my post is to confront the current discourse on what exclusion should look like.  I argue that exclusive spaces aren’t inherently bad, because they are not. 

Niches are exclusive or closed to people outside of that niche, because that niche was created with a specific group in mind. It’s not simply about creating sub groups, but rather creating spaces for a specific demographic.

The LGBT+ community is a collective community, in that spaces and resources are shared with and between multiple communities. There are some uniting factors, but also a lot of differences between groups.

I believe that inclusion and exclusion are dependent on context. To me, inclusion is unquestionably important in shared spaces. However, individual communities have a right to design spaces that are exclusive to address individual needs.

The goal is to give people spaces to discuss their needs without others imposing what they must prioritize. What is accomplished in exclusive spaces can be brought to inclusive shared spaces to build a stronger collective community. 

In this sense, exclusion is not a hostile act meant to deny someone’s experiences and strip them of a community or sense of belonging. Rather its a recognition that exclusive niches built around specific experiences aren’t bad.
