You can be someone else
Authors you deeply admire and are with the same literary agency - and wish you could have coffee ☕️ with. ♥️♥️ I was holding these books in my hand, trembling a bit, feeling so grateful to have had their lives touched mine. I have so much to be thankful for with all of them, each differently. I discovered @mattmikalatos #thecrescentstone at @realmmakers and after reading it found @ambassador_speakers and literary. I loved climbing through tunnels and following his characters to impossible places while they discovered a lot about life in amazing lands. Then I heard about @jolinapetersheimauthor and was drawn into her riveting tales #thealliance and #howthelightgetsin that feature Amish people and very unusual circumstances. Her ability to put raw emotion and authenticity into her gripping tales and also into her social media as we watch her family grow up has been so enriching. @wmpaulyoung dazzled me with #theshack first with the deep sadness of the loss the people experience in the book – then with the life-changing spiritual moments and mind bending thoughts about the trinity. When this book first debuted, I was unable to read it because we had no books and were scrambling for housing after wildfires took everything we owned. But later, years later, I could really relate to how his main character was able to find God in impossible circumstances so much worse than ours - still it gave me an enduring thread of hope. I’m so grateful for that. ♥️ And #Frankperetti inspired me with the #cooperkids series taking kids on grand adventures. So I wanted to start the new year thanking each of them today. 📚📚 #writingcommunity #authorsofinstagram #authorlife #authorlifemonth https://www.instagram.com/p/B7BVtdYgV7t/?igshid=h80l8krvtubk

The Sunlit Lands Trilogy by Matt Mikalatos
I feel like no one has ever read this series except me. The third book comes out this year and I couldn’t be more excited!
This is the book website:
https://www.tyndale.com/sites/crescentstone/
Jason Wu is my favorite character ever, and if you want to see why, go to the free four chapter preview of The Crescent Stone, and go to chapter three.
Please, please, please, fall in love with the books, the characters, the plot, and the world. It’s amazing, and the books are honestly my favorites!

If you were offered your hearts desire come true, in exchange for serving a year in another world, would you agree??? What would you ask for??? 🏰 If immortality wasn’t on the table, I’d want a bag that would give me whatever I wanted when I reached inside. That way I can always have the newest books, or food, or clothes, or anything. Maybe even a unicorn 🦄 I mean, Mary poppins practically pulled out an entire living room of her bag! Imagine how easy packing would be if you only had to bring ONE bag because it carried literally everything you could ever want!!! 🏰 I am so so happy I was sent #thecrescentstone from @teenreadsdotcom @tyndalehouse to review!!! This book feels like classic fantasy at its best! If you loved the world of Narnia, you will ADORE everything about The Sunlit Lands! The characters are seventeen, but this book is written to appeal to a wide audience of readers from young YA to adult. It is full of action, adventure, and filled with plenty of moral decisions to spark conversation and thought. It’s brand new and feels timeless already. The Crescent Stone is the first in a new series, and I can’t wait to see what adventures Madeline and Jason get up to next! Look for my review on the teenreads website!!! I love a good portal fantasy! I’ve been saving the sequel to #thecrescentstone by @mattmikalatos as a reward during my #nanowrimo process. But it’s a little bit like trying to wait to eat the Halloween candy… Not sure if I’m going to be able to wait until I hit some big numbers! The beautiful lands, the meaningful relationships, and good tension make it good fodder for a bit of escape. I’ll list the write up on the most recent release, #theheartwoodcrown 👑 below. This painting 🖼 is special because firefighters saved it as our home burned years ago. I’d love ❤️ to portal there for a little writing cabin in the woods today! How is your writing going? I’m slowly getting close to 10,000 and will be pretty happy if I get there this week.❤️❤️#nanowrimo2019 —— A refugee searching for a new purpose . . . A warrior who questions the blood on his hands . . . A storyteller on the run . . . The Crescent Stone has been destroyed, but the balance of power is still unsteady in the Sunlit Lands. Madeline and Shula have returned home to earth, but Darius and Jason have remained behind to fight with the Scim in their centuries-long battle against the Elenil. As Madeline’s health worsens, she and Shula feel called back to the fantastical world. Will they return and take their place among the citizens of the Sunlit Lands? And can they help save the land and its people? If they are to have any hope of restoring justice, the friends must work together to find an artifact called the Heartwood Crown. Whoever wears the crown will be able to alter the nature of the land itself . . . and rewrite the rules that govern the Sunlit Lands. https://www.instagram.com/p/B4dI9gqg2jH/?igshid=1715t07bk4nib

I’ve passed through a super portal in #TheCrescentStone by @MattMikalatos - such a fun read. My favorite thing is how he has created a world with magical beasts, humorous characters, threatening and real evil, and unexpected twists right and left. Here’s the description, at great add to you #TBR list! 📚📚 A girl with a deadly lung disease . . . A boy with a tragic past . . . A land where the sun never sets but darkness still creeps in . . . Madeline Oliver has never wanted for anything, but now she would give anything just to breathe. Jason Wu skates through life on jokes, but when a tragedy leaves him guilt-stricken, he promises to tell only the truth, no matter the price. When a mysterious stranger named Hanali appears to Madeline and offers to heal her in exchange for one year of service to his people, Madeline and Jason are swept into a strange land where they don’t know the rules and where their decisions carry consequences that reach farther than they could ever guess. https://www.instagram.com/p/BrShOGDl8eS/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=kuw0mi9r4r8g
