However, that also may have been its downfall with critics. I think the film is brilliant, and while it may have alot packed into it, I find every storyline more interesting than most films out today. 'The Chumscrubber' Micro-Review: ‘The Chumscrubber’ is one of those weird movies that I loved even though it’s kinda trash. It comes from that beautiful time at the turn of the millennium where every movie was trying to capture various forms of existential dread thanks to ‘Fight Club.’ While this is a far cry from David Fincher’s classic, it’s one that’s filled with plenty of bizarre characters that embark on a strange adventure in the most normal setting imaginable. Unfortunately, the philosophical elements are a little “been there done that,” but for the time it was a movie that made some interesting observations about how detached people were from each other. It’s an interesting and quirky little film, though a bit shallow overall. Still, it boasts a pretty impressive cast that manages to do a lot with the characters they’re given.
