A few extra old tombstones. The Burying point was the most talked about cemetery when I was researching things to see in Salem. Again, this is ironic because as I heard from the tour guide there as we arrived, Salem is called “Witch City”, but anyone accused of witchcraft was not allowed to be buried there and there is a judge involved in the trials in it. It was cool to see the very old tombstones, but we weren’t allowed in. On our next trip, we’ll find a cemetery we can walk in and can do tombstone rubbings. Even if the Burying Point weren’t marked off, we wouldn’t have been able to do the rubbings... I mean just because they’re 300 years old... 😜😉 At least the Witch Trails Memorial is right beside it. Though I couldn’t get to all of the stones because another tour group was stuffed in there, but I was able to get a couple of pictures: one was particularly touching because her 8th great granddaughter left a postcard to honor her and one of Sarah Good because someone I know traced her ancestry to her.
