You’ve heard of Grumpy Cat? Meet Grumpy Cow... This little muffin is Goose, who we’ve affectionate dubbed “Grumpy Goose” because of his hilariously crotchety facial expressions. He’s actually a very happy boy (though he doesn’t always look it 😆) saved from being killed in the dairy industry last month by @goatlandia_sanctuary because he was born male and humans wanted to drink his mother’s milk. We’ve been fostering Goose who has become a wonderful ambassador for babies born into the dairy industry as most people never realize a cow has to become pregnant and have a baby (who is then taken from her) to produce milk. Wear your costume to trick or treat at the animal barns, feed the pigs pumpkins and decorate a mini pumpkin to take home, enjoy face painting, hot apple cider, vegan treats, photo ops, and Halloween stories at the Book Barn! There will also be a pumpkin throwing contest with the winner receiving a $50 @theburgerpatch gift card! We have such an exciting weekend ahead at the Mindful Eating Film and Food Festival! We are thrilled to be a supporting our friends at @ranchocompasion during a weekend of thoughtful films, fun, and incredible vegan food! Tonight we’ll be attending the screening of “The Smell of Money” focusing on the spraying of manure from pig farms into rural black communities and the intersection of human and animal rights. @katemara will be speaking afterward about this new film she created as well. Tomorrow, stop by the @leap4animals booth to say hi and come hear our co-founder Danielle Hanosh along with Monica Stevens of @jamesonhumane and Camellia Schinner of @ranchocompasion discuss farmed animal sanctuaries at the 10:40am panel. The short film Audori’s Courage created by our co-founder, Josh, will be shown in the shorts tent and gives a great overview of the impetus for the LEAP program.
