I am a writer.

For the longest while, I resisted calling myself a writer because it just didn’t feel “right.” I didn’t feel the it fit me. I just thought my writing was meh…at best. Starting this Tumblr helped me to find my voice. My writing voice that I found via just sharing my thoughts and desires in my posts. The more I started writing, the more it felt natural. Right. Like it fit me. Suited me.

Today, I won a poetry contest sponsored by @theblvckcool and I am still humbled and honored by winning. I wrote the poem and just hoped it would be well received and it was. Winning this just lets me know that writing is what I truly want to do with my life. I want to write stories about black girls that shows them in different lights. Fat girls living life without their fat being a central theme. Stories about trans girls and guys find love and happiness without their gender being called into question. Stories about BDSM that includes black people and shows respect to what it is truly about. Stories about being single. I just want to write. Just write and write.

Thank you to all of you who like,reblog or read and enjoy anything I have ever written on here. It means so much and just compels me to write more and more.
