Our Stories is a project of The Bicast. Our mission is to record and present stories from our community to our community, and beyond. Each experience in life is a lesson. By sharing our experiences, we also share these our lessons as well. Archiving them, in our own voices, provides a record of who we are. Bisexual (of any spectrum), Pansexual, Transgender, Women, Men, Gender (of any spectrum), POC, young, old; there are no exclusions. We all have something to say. We encourage people to record their own, which can be done with any smart phone or computer. For those unable, or in an unsafe situation, we can record them for you.

So to sum up about the BiCast:
They harassed me for criticizing the misogyny and racism in the bi community, specifically the unjustifiable choice to have days dedicated to bi men and bi allies during Bi Visibility Week but nothing for bi women or bi people of color. They insinuated that racism is not a problem in the bi community because "we are full of color." [x]
They harassed and stalked bifurious-babe from her replies to my posts, a rape survivor who was victimized by a bi man and did not appreciate being told that bi men are "the best men in the world." They accused her of tearing down the bi community's progress and being a bad "team player." [x]
One member of the BiCast spoke out against this and asked for an apology for me and bifurious-babe, but the rest of the members were opposed. Eventually the original sender of the harassment promised to send us apologies but never did. [x]
They even complained indirectly about us on their podcasts afterwards, where they also alluded to sending the harassing messages and had no remorse over doing so. [x]
This is just the tip of the iceberg. Their podcasts are overflowing with misogyny, repeatedly invalidating bi women's oppression and refusing to hold bi men accountable for their misogyny or male privilege. Here's one example but honestly all of their podcasts are deeply problematic. [x]
bifurious-babe and I are calling on thebicast to hold the individual who sent these harassing messages accountable and issue an apology to us and the entire bi community. A genuine apology, not "sorry you were offended" or "sorry I sent the messages from the organization's tumblr instead of my personal one." I also expect that binetusa will make themselves aware of this situation, as the harasser identified themself as a volunteer for BiNet USA in the messages.
All bisexual organizations should embrace feedback and criticism, because bisexual organizations should care about marginalized members of the bi community. They should strive to do better by bi women, bi people of color, disabled bi people, and trans and nonbinary bi people, instead of dismissing our concerns as frivolous or divisive. Social justice organizations should care about and listen to oppressed people. At the very least, they shouldn't harass and mock bi women who criticize their misogyny.
We also hope that the rest of the bi community will reconsider supporting the BiCast if they fail to apologize for this harassment and address the problematic content in their podcasts.

How did you access that chat? Did you join queerworld before today and therefore were already all set up and classified as "active" on the site in advance, or were you able to get in some way that I just can't find? I joined the queerworld site hours prior to the chat but was denied whenever I tried to click on the bicast group for the chat. If it's just a matter of needing to join and wait 24 hours, then I may be done, but if I'm missing something then I'm LOST trying to figure it out! Thanks!
I actually accessed it through the link I reblogged from bisexual-books and was just asked to fill out a little form asking for a username, gender, age and description.
However I don’t think I actually joined queerworld permanently because any time I exited the tab my chat was in I had to fill out the same form and enter the chat again when I navigated back to the site.
I think the chat for tonight is basically over but thebicast mentioned that there would more than likely be more. You could also follow their blog so you’ll know when the next one is.
Sorry you’re having so much trouble! :(
Also, I see that you asked this like two hours ago so I’m so sorry it took me so long to get back to you. >.
