This is the Pululahua Volcano near La Mitad Del Mundo. It’s the only place in the world where people live inside the crater of an active volcano and we got to see it before the clouds rolled in. • People live in the heart of the crater and they cultivate vegetables and fruits, and also produce milk that people consume in the city of Quito. • This is just unbelievable! I was told that steam is visible in the early morning when the sun is rising and condensation happens as a natural phenomenon. It’s just insane to think someone would dare to live in the heart of an active volcano that could explode at any given moment 🌋 • Ecuador doesn’t cease to amaze me with its amazing and unexpected beauty. This was something to see and experience in person. Today we visited Museo Intiñán and the Mitad del Mundo, or middle of the world site. We stood on latitude 00°00’00” which it was measured exactly by GPS. This experience was pretty awesome! • We stood right on the equatorial division of both hemispheres, then on each hemisphere, then on both hemispheres at the same time, walked on the equatorial line and stumbled since our bodies were experiencing gravity, we saw how the forces of the equatorial line pulled water down, we learn about history and so much more! • If you come to Quito you have to make a trip to Mitad del Mundo. You’ll love it. Brah, you don’t see it, but the struggle today was real 😱🐎🐎 We decided to go up the Pichincha Volcano on a cableway. Great view of the city of Quito from up there and other volcanos. • The struggle was riding a horse for the first time on the edge of the mountain literally a couple of inches away from the precipice feeling like my heart was beating so fast it was going to pop out of my chest. • That was quite the adventure! The views from up there were breath-taking, riding the horsie was intense, it rained, heard thunders in the distance, we were on the edge of this immensity, at some point the trails were just 12” to 8” wide (I swear), it was getting really cold, and riding the horse down the volcano was challenging, but the whole experience was unforgettable. • Today was an eventful day, very intense with beautiful nature surrounding us. Ecuador is so incredible! Went up to the top of El Panecillo to see the aluminum built Virgen de El Panecillo in Quito, Ecuador. It’s really beautiful, specially at night. • The Virgin of El Panecillo (in Spanish: Virgen de El Panecillo), also known as the Virgin of Quito from the sculpture of the same name, is a monument in Quito, Ecuador. It is located on the top of the hill of El Panecillo, a loaf-shaped hill in the heart of the city and serves as a backdrop to the historic center of Quito. With a total height of 135 feet (41 meters) including the base, it is the highest statue in Ecuador and one of the highest in South America (taller than the Christ the Redeemer statue in the Brazilian city of Rio de Janeiro).
