Oh, that's an easy one!

Sorry this blog has been gone for so long, various stresses and other blogs took over, but I can get back into the swing with this short one perhaps.

These, respectively, are Mierfa Durgas and Nektan Whelan. They are fantrolls, created by SympathyPlan and Jedediah Long, who were the two people who donated $10,000 to the Hiveswap Kickstarter, for which the tier reward was to have your own fantroll design appear on a page of Homestuck.

As such, Mierfa and Nektan both appear on page 5966.

You will note, however, that the donation only specified appearing on one page of Homestuck. This is why, on the very next page, they are immediately killed.

Which is very in fitting for Homestuck.

(The "surviving longer than a single page" was actually another reward tier, for $100,000. Nobody ever reached it. There was another reward tier above that, too: $1,000,000, to have them become the most important character in Homestuck.)

They were killed by Calliope and Caliborn's father, placing them some time (likely in the far future) in Universe C. However, where they are, when, and which timeline (or even if it's Meat or Candy at all) in unknown.

They were *also* featured in this art update during Hiveswap's initial development, along with many other T-poses and 3D models of various characters, some of whom (like Joey, Jude, and Xefros) appeared in the actual game. However, as Hiveswap is a 2D game, none of the 3D assets were used, and are unlikely to be used in the future.

Here's there wiki page with more information, as well as info on the third fantroll, who was in Hiveswap, and *definitely* isn't a Limeblood. Trust me.

Oh, and also Sweet Jeff and Hella Bro cosplay as them to distract/attract Tavros during Summeteen romance. That sounds like a joke but it's not. Don't read Dave's dialogue on the bottom section of the page if you want your mind to ever feel clean again. (The funny thing is, what he's describing happening actually happens in the panels underneath, or at least the first part.)

I would argue Homestuck is- in a 23n23- about mental health!

Homestuck is about what happens when you give children immen23 powers and freedoms that they are ill-equipped to handle.

In this way, Homestuck is a reflection of Hussie’s childhood as a Millennial, 23lf-rai23d as a result of parental neglect.

What is my role? Can I fulfill it? Does great power truly come with great responsibility?

The23 are some of many questions that Hussie explores in Homestuck, often though the effects the protagonists’ mythological roles (AKA classpects) have on each of their psyches.

Okay, so you know how search engine results on most popular topics have become useless because the top results are cluttered with page after page of machine-generated gibberish designed to trick people into clicking in so it can harvest their ad views?

And you know how the data sets that are used to train these gibberish-generating AIs are themselves typically machine-generated, via web scrapers using keyword recognition to sort text lifted from wiki articles and blog posts into topical subsets?

Well, today I discovered – quite by accident – that the training-data-gathering robots apparently cannot tell the difference between wiki articles about pop-psych personality typologies (e.g., Myers-Briggs type indicators, etc.) and wiki articles about Homestuck classpects.

The upshot is that when a bot that's been trained on the resulting data sets is instructed to write fake mental health resource articles, sometimes it will start telling you about Homestuck.

SB18-221 Elect County Commissioners by District

The bill that would allow Counties to elect County Commissioners by district has been introduced in the Senate by our own Senator Don Coram and will be heard in the Senate Local Government Committee on April 10th. It is Senate Bill 18-221. Below is a description of the bill, the bill as introduced, and the Senate Local Government Committee members. The voters in County Commissioner District 3 of La Plata County have not elected their County Commissioner since 1988. That is 30 years that District 3 has not had true representation. Part of the reason for the County Commissioner recall effort is the frustration of citizens that they have no representation. This bill gives Counties under 70,000 people the authority to have an election to decide if they want to elect County Commissioners by District. It is ironic that Counties with a population over 70,000 already have this authority. SB 18-221 is totally permissive and is not a mandate in any way. Our first hurdle is to get the bill passed by the Senate Local Government Committee which is referenced below. The Committee will hear the bill in the afternoon of Tuesday, April 10th, in room SCR 354 at the Capitol in Denver. We must fill the Committee members' email boxes with letters of support. Please email them individually, not as a group. I hope that many of you can go to Denver to testify.
